Are You Failing Because You Are Distracted? Yes!

“My recent blogs were devoted to two concepts; why you fail and is media, and more, distracting you from your goals and dreams? There are many factors that usurp your power. If you aren’t able to realize the power you have, you may never maximize your potential.

The distractions, those deliberately imposed, and those that simply arise in daily living, compete for your attention. They rob you of focus. They lead you astray when you succumb to them. Your thoughts become diluted so the results you get are weakened.

If you are distracted, you may never realize your true self and what you are capable of achieving. Because you are ‘caught up’ you miss out. Napoleon Hill called it ‘drifting’, as a cork bobs along in the current. There is no power in drifting. Power is in your focus.

Everything Is Energy – Your Thoughts Begin It …

Power is in your decisions and determination. Power is in managing your thoughts, feelings, and actions. If anything can distract you, it will lead you away from what is most important. If it can take you away from pursuing your goals and dreams, it will. You lose out.

That is why, social networking, popular books, movies, music, gossip, bad news, is dangerous. It takes you out of the game. Your focus isn’t on who  you can become, and what you can accomplish, it’s caught up in the bad news and banter on your feed. Focus is everything!

Energy flows where your attention goes. What you focus on expands. You become what you think about most frequently. I’m not saying there isn’t room for entertainment or frivolity that makes you feel good. There is plenty of room for it. It’s how much time is spent?

… Your Emotions Amplify It – Your Actions Increase Its Momentum

If most of your time is caught up in media distraction, daily distractions, traffic and nuisances in work and home life, then less time is spent focused on what you want. If you get what you focus on,  how will you get what you want, if you’re not focused on it?

You have to control what you pay attention to. That is why it is important to read and listen to material that inspires and motivates you to continue your pursuit, daily. It is why you need to hang out with positive like minded people who are making things happen.

It is the reason you attend seminars and events and invest in yourself. All of these help you to stay focused on your goals and dreams, and expand your imagination to include more good things. Spend more time on what is important, and less time on what isn’t.

Take Back Your Attention – Energy – Time And Emotions 

Affirm and visualize. Enjoy making your world what you want it to be. Contribute to others positively, and allow them to contribute to you. That is much better for you than the latest bad news or gossip. The goal, of the powers that be, is that you spend money trying.

If you become what you want to be, you live life on your terms. You have choice and power. You can opt in or opt out. If you are always struggling you are spending your time, energy and money to become. If you never become you keep struggling. Get it? It’s a cycle.

Put an end to the distractions. You get nowhere drifting and being wishy washy. Focus! Focus yourself. Become a laser beam and enjoy the process. Find the people, things, and circumstances you are grateful for and focus on these, instead. You’ll get more bang for this buck than discussing headlines. Get it? Practice gratitude. Live fully. Delight in life. Manage your thoughts and your feelings and actions and results will align. FOCUS! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Is Media Trying To Addict You And Dumb You Down?

“Lots of news. Lots happening. Daily breaking news. Media messages bombard us on TV, newspapers, blogs, internet, social media. We are hit with thousands of messages every moment. We can’t escape it any more than we can escape microwaves and cell towers.

Some think the media manipulates us. It could be that is accurate. It can try, at least. It can wear us down so we are apathetic and don’t care anymore. A lie repeated often enough can be substituted as the truth. We get dumber, not smarter. Yes, it can have this affect.

It may be that it’s designed to make us feel helpless or hopeless. It may be done to control our thinking; tell us what to think and believe. We are products of our family, peer groups and society. Manipulation is not that big of a stretch, to think it not possible.

Simplify Your Life – Learn To Say No – Keep Your Power

However, it doesn’t control you, unless you let it. If you let it run your thoughts, then, yes, perhaps, it has that power to influence. It can’t control you, but it may influence you. If you don’t let it, it can’t. You are in charge. There is a question you might ask about media.

Do I feel more empowered and in charge by what I see and hear daily or do I feel more helpless and hopeless? Evaluate the affect you think it has on you. If you feel less than glorious, less in charge, more helpless and hopeless, then you can act to change it.

There is no reason to remain a victim. Pay attention. Everything is designed to make you an addict. Food additives, MSG, HFCS, and others in processed food. Nicotine in cigarettes. Alcohol. Media which includes movies, books and music. They want us consuming.

Want More Time Freedom Energy And Money – Start Saying No

People are addicted to news. People are addicted to BAD news. What we focus on is what we get. I don’t know if it is nefarious. Are there powers trying to dumb down the people for total domination? Perhaps. More likely, just trying to get you to part with your dollars.

Claim your life and your mind and your time and your health back. Take it all back and put yourself in charge of you. Decide what you want and whether or not it gets you closer, or further away, from your hopes, goals and dreams. You are either thriving or dying.

Put a premium on your time because that you NEVER get back. Instead of struggling decide and determine to make life fun. Make it an adventure. Enjoy it. Delight and thrill. Transform it through the renewing of your mind and heart. Practice gratitude. Limit the negativity. Promote the positivity. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Be A Failure

For centuries, leaders have been trying to teach how to be a success. I decided to show you what leads to failure so that maybe, just maybe, you will stop doing that and change! Unsuccessful people, failures, do things differently than people who are successful.

They think crappy thoughts. Do you think negative; think like a loser? Don’t believe you can. Excuse, whine, accuse, blame others and the world around you for your situation. Crappy thoughts lead to crappy feelings. You feel bad then think more crappy thoughts.

It is a cycle. Crappy feelings don’t make you feel like doing anything. You are unmotivated so you take no constructive actions. No actions leads to no results or bad results. Bad results lead to more crappy thoughts and more crappy feelings and doing even less. It’s a cycle.

What Consumes Your Mind Controls Your Life

Bad thoughts lead to bad feelings, lead to bad actions, lead to bad results, lead to bad thoughts. The cycle perpetuates itself. IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT? If the answer is ‘no’ then you must start by changing your thinking. That IS the very FIRST step.

If you want your life to change you must change things in your life. You cannot continue doing the same things repeatedly and expect it to be different. That is crappy thinking. Your habits of thought, feeling and action define you. Your reality is created by you.

If you want to change, you change your thinking. Positive thoughts lead to positive feelings, which lead to positive actions, which lead to positive results. The cycle perpetuates itself. You have a choice. You have a decision to make each moment. Which cycle do you prefer?

You Become What You Think About Most Of The Time

Which one is your present reality? If it isn’t what you want decide to change it today. Begin reading and listening to positive, inspiring, motivational material. Recite affirmations. Visualize. Take an active approach to changing your thoughts. Take charge of your thinking.

Shift from the negative. Don’t repeat negative thoughts out loud. Stop telling stories to family and friends how things suck. Begin to think differently. Start thinking and saying, ‘I am not sure, yet, how it is going to work out but it will all work out for the best.’ It will!

DO things that make you feel good. Get a massage. Go for a walk, a swim, a movie. Enjoy a nice meal. HANG OUT with positive, inspiring, motivating, encouraging people. Take a seminar or workshop. Express your gratitude. All of this makes a difference.

What You Say Is What You Get – Change Your Self Talk And Story

If you keep doing what you always have you will continue to create what you already have. If it isn’t what you want that is a shame. There is no one who is doing it to you, but you. Right now you can change that. Start today. Be grateful! You can. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

If You’re Like Most People You Say You Are But You Probably Aren’t

“Most people will make this claim, yet, most people are not what they claim. They say they are, but they aren’t. This is the reason they don’t change, nor do they get what they want. In order to have the life you want to have, certain things are necessary.

You must do this! What is it? You must have a true willingness to change. Yup, people claim they are willing. They say they want changes. They want it different. When it comes right down to it they really aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to make it so?

Many are mostly unwilling. What about you? If you want things in your life to change you ACTUALLY have to change things in your life! What would you give up? What would you trade in exchange? Would you go a year without Facebook? Would you give up television?

If You Are Not Willing To Change – Don’t Expect Your Life To

What are you willing to do, to sacrifice, if you had to, to get the life of your dreams? What will you do to make you big goals and dreams a reality? Most people won’t do much when it comes right down to it. They are comfortable as it is, even while they complain about it!

It boils down to habit. What habits do you have that keep you the same? Most people don’t change their habits because they think it too hard. They try, but give up. Some succeed. You actually can! To succeed you need to put some skin in the game. Are you willing?

What do you need to do in order to get what you want most? The number one thing most people need to start with is to change their thinking? People need to develop the mindset that they can and will do anything positive to bring about good results they desire.

You Have To Be Willing To Leave Your Comfort Zone

They need to take responsibility for everything in their life. Why? Because once you take responsibility for everything it puts you in charge. If you created a mess, or something you don’t like, you can create what you want, too. You are doing it. No one else is.

That mindset helps you make the changes necessary to develop new habits. If I said, you can have the lifestyle you want, but it will cost you X, many people would say, ‘wow that is too much!’ The cost could be a money investment or giving up golfing on weekends.

Not forever, but until you have what you want. What do you continue to allow that gets in your way? When will you stop it from being a distraction? How soon will you decide you are willing to change and do whatever necessary to stop losing and start winning?

Stop Complaining About Things You Aren’t Willing To Change

A willingness to change means you are willing and you actually take charge and change things. If you change nothing, you get nothing. Still, this is what most do. They continue doing the same things, hoping it will be different. That IS the definition of insanity. It is!

Develop a positive mindset. Napoleon Hill called it THINK and grow rich. It truly is mostly a mental game. When your thinking is right on, your actions will be too. It isn’t about working harder, yet that is what most people think it’s about. Work smarter not harder!

Until you are truly willing to change your life will mostly remain the same. You have to leave your comfort zone and stretch yourself in new and different ways to make headway. This means you must develop new thinking, feeling and doing habits. Are you ready?

You Will Never Change Anything You Are Willing To Tolerate

If so begin. Begin assuming responsibility for everything in your life. No joke. You created it all. That is the mindset. Now begin creating what you want. Fill your mind each day with positive thoughts. Read, listen to positive material. Repeat affirmations. Visualize. Have fun.

Make it a point to enjoy what you already have, whether you have little or lots. BE grateful. Express your appreciation. This is really, the secret. It is all an energy game! When you are vibrating right, exuding the right energy, you are in the zone. It is about energy!

You make things happen when you are positive. When you are delighting and enjoying all of life you are closest to making all your dreams come true. Live in appreciation. Be grateful. What you think about you become. What you focus on expands. Delight in it all and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Put Your Order Into The Universe And Get What You Want!

“What do you do when you go to a restaurant and place an order? What is the first thing you do after being seated? Probably, look at a menu, right? Do you decide on what you want based on what appeals to you or do you cross items off due to cost?

Well, what is it? Are you in to treat yourself and cost doesn’t matter? OR, is cost a primary consideration when you dine out? For that matter, is cost usually a primary consideration or is it your enjoyment? Is it your delight or pocketbook that rules you?

Consider these questions. Now, let us move on. After choosing, hopefully something you really want, you place your order, along with any cooking specifics or side dishes. LET’S REVIEW. You decided what you want then you make your order. You speak it.

Speak What You Seek Until You See What You’ve Said

Then you wait while they prepare your food and bring it to you.  Consider this: You did your part. You determined what you want and you told them that you wanted it.  Now they do their part which is out of your hands. They prepare and make it to order.

You don’t micromanage the chef and the kitchen. You wait at your seat, expecting to get it to your liking. Eventually, they serve it to you. If it is not to your liking you explain the change and they go back to the kitchen to do over. They bring it back, corrected.

You dine. Hopefully, it is now to your liking. If so, you proceed to consume it. Then you pay for what you received and happily go on your way having had your order fulfilled. If it was awesome tasty and the service wonderful, perhaps, you leave a great tip.

What You Say Is What You Get – Declare It And Affirm It 

You had a delightful culinary experience. You decided what you wanted, what you would like, and ordered it. Waited, received it, paid for it, and moved on. Those are parts that involve you. We don’t have to know the ‘how to’ details to get it. That is beyond our scope.

It is simple. You place your order, wait for it, make the exchange and take your order. Done. You don’t do everyone else’s job. You only concentrate on your part and enjoy the goods. Do you get this, yet? There is what you do and then there is what ______________ does.

That blank could be god, the universe, your subconscious, anything you think or believe it to be. You do your part and the other part will be handled by _______________. Get it? Do you get it yet? Stop interfering unhelpfully with getting what you want.

Abracadabra Actually Means I Create What I Speak

Give it over to the universe, to god or to your own brain to figure out the how to’s. The how to’s, the execution, the preparation, the ‘how do I make it work?’ thinking, isn’t your responsibility. Let it go. Place your order and expect to be delighted. Do your part and no more.

I recently had the good fortune to keep company with a Lakota native by the name of Hawk. He shared his way of thinking about the law of attraction as the ‘Fast Food Formula For Manifesting What You Want’. I think it is brilliant. I think you’ll love this.

What happens when you go to drive through? You pull up and place your order. Then you move forward and you make an exchange. You pay for it. Then you move forward to the window where your order will be served. They bring your order and you reach out to take it.

Never Say Anything About Yourself You Don’t Want To Come True

There it is 4 steps. 1. Place The Order 2. Make The Exchange  3. Move Forward To Receive. 4. Reach Out And Take It! Brilliant this sums it up wonderfully. Know what you want and place your order. Declare it. Speak it. Let your order be known to those who fulfill it.

Move forward to make the exchange. You pay for the order. Nothing is free. There is an exchange of energy. Money is a form of energy. You exchange energy. You move forward and wait expecting to be served and delighted. When your order is ready they hand it to you.

You reach out to take it. You do your part. Know what you want and put your order in. Move. Take action and put energy into getting what you want. Move forward. A right action. Wait, expecting to be delighted. Reach out and take it. It is that simple. You act and get.

Thoughts Lead To Feelings Lead To Actions Lead To Results

YOU make it happen through your part. The others make it happen doing their part. They, the universe, god, your subconscious (whatever you think it to be) receives you order and prepares it out of sight from you. When ready ‘it’ delivers it for you to take. You do!

It is all contingent on you knowing what you want. Speaking it or placing your order. Paying for it is exchanging energy. When energy is exchanged the order is made and delivered. You reach and take it. Some people still try to make it overly complicated. It isn’t. It’s easy.

Both sides do what each are supposed to do. The trouble comes into the situation when you attempt to do the work for both sides. You can’t. You can’t be in the kitchen BUT you can wait eagerly, excited to take your order and go. DO your part. The Universe will do its.

It All Begins With Your Thought – From Within To Without

Manifesting what you want is far simpler than most people believe. Many people over complicate it and actually push away the things they desire most. They try to manage all the details and figure out how things should be instead of trusting in the part they play.

Let go of everything else and do your part. Have faith, trust, that when you do what is necessary, everything that needs to be done will also be done. Be grateful. Enjoy ordering. Enjoy waiting. Enjoy exchanging the energy and enjoy taking it. Enjoy the entire process. Delight in getting what you want. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Source Of Your Pain: You Are One Thinking You Are Many

“You don’t think the universe is on your side because you think you are separate from it. The truth is you aren’t separate you are it. You are part of all that is, and you ARE all that is. Your consciousness is ONE. You are infinite intelligence you just don’t believe you are.

Instead of seeing wholeness and unity, instead of seeing oneness, harmony and completeness you see separate people, separate events and circumstances. That is the big illusion. The world view you have you co-opted from your parents and peers from birth on.

In order to make the shift to ONE, you must become aware. You become aware through alarms. What alarms do you get? Loud, painful, intense ones, usually. The signal value needs to be enough to get your attention. Otherwise you’d miss it, as you normally do.

You Are Awareness – Simply Give UP Those Things You Are Not

You conspire to get your own attention by bringing people, events and circumstances into your experience that mirror the conditioned beliefs and habitual mindset you presently have. YOU are trying to wake yourself up with loud alarms. Still, you don’t get it, do you?

You keep creating these situations, but instead of becoming aware, and having an ‘aha’ you blame, excuse, judge, label, whine and complain how the world and people are unfair, wrong, or bad. We all do this because we bought into the old conditioning. We can change.

The purpose of the situations we keep encountering is for us to wake up, drop the conditioned limiting beliefs that keep us thinking we are separate, and surrender into the oneness that is. The drop from the ocean returns to the ocean. The drop ‘gets it’s’ true nature.

All these experiences we suffer through we do so because we aren’t celebrating them. We are judging them as unwanted and resisting them instead of welcoming ALL as blessings. You will become totally free when you can welcome all people and situations joyously.

Each moment you decide. Each moment you encounter an opportunity. Either do what you always have done and get what you always have gotten, OR decide differently, do something new and change the game. Become aware! Consider each moment a blessing.

When things go wrong, or people are difficult, begin to see it as an opportunity to rejoice, celebrate and count it as a blessing. It is a good thing! It is the alarm to help you awaken. Be glad. Learn from it. Be grateful. When you become truly grateful you become free. Allow, embrace, accept, and become aware. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Why You Keep Creating The Same Mess And How To Change It!

“Our outer world is determined by our inner filters. We respond from subconscious filters we adopted and developed, unconsciously, growing from infant into early childhood. These filters form the basis of our habitual thought and feeling habits. We think they are us.

Expanding thoughts from my last post on perception. They are not us but these filters determine what we notice, see and act on. They determine what we don’t notice, do not see and do not act on. Filters determine what we think is possible or not; what is ‘good or bad’.

These form the basis of our rules, evidence procedures, feelings, and actions. These become beliefs and values. Each moment our brains cycle through beliefs, values, memories, experiences,  associations and these filter are our connection with the outer world.

You Can Be Anything You Want If You Give Up The Belief You Can’t

So what is a filter? Think coffee filter. It lets certain things pass, water, while trapping the grounds. It works the same inside us. We notice or don’t based on our filters. That is why you can miss seeing your keys when they are right in front of you or even in your hand.

We are conditioned and habituated to these. We follow the same or similar ways of thinking, feeling and behaving every day. It’s as if we are our habits. We aren’t but we go to work the same way. We come home and do the same thing each day. We are routine.

We are routine in our relationships, our work, our passions, our hobbies, and our leisure. We are conditioned. Can we ever change our filters or our habits? Absolutely! It begins with awareness and dedication. We can begin to experience other ways to be. We can!

You Can Do Anything You Want If You Give Up That You Can’t

We can begin to examine our beliefs and whether they support us or not. If not, we can choose to begin to believe something more positive, productive and supportive. Don’t think right or wrong. Don’t think true or false. Think supportive or not supportive.

Does what you think, feel and do move you closer to who you want to be, what you want to do and have? OR Does it keep you where you are or move you further away? This is a useful way to begin to examine and become aware of what your filters are. Examine!

It is useful in discovering what may be holding you back. Habits are changed by deciding not to engage in the old ones. When you notice you are acting from habit, stop, breathe, and do something else that promotes what you want to promote. Replace the old with the new.

You Can Have  Anything You Want If You Give Up That You Can’t

Become aware when you think, feel and behave in less than glorious ways. From the moment you become aware, you have a choice point. You can make a new decision. That decision will determine whether or not you change what you are doing and change your life.

If you always do what you always have done you will always get what you always got. You will remain the same. To be different requires you change some things. No one else can do it for you. Only you can. AND YOU CAN! So it is up to. Add novelty to your life.

DO different things. Eat different foods. Go to new places. Learn new things.. Expand your horizons. Change things up. Every time you feel less than glorious or think negatively you encountered a belief or value, some filter that is old conditioning. Notice the feelings.

Whether You Think You Can Or Think You Can’t – You’re Right

Examine your beliefs. Do they serve you? If they don’t then doubt them. You don’t have to continue to believe them. Many people doubt they can do something they want to do. I say doubt that you can’t and then go ahead and do it. Be smart. Doubt limitations.

Be willing to not believe them, even though you have for so long. Let them go. Drop them. Be willing to try on a new and different belief. The old, chronic, negative, habitual conditioning  rises up automatically whenever you do new things to keep you the same.

Your beliefs and filters work to keep you the same. They keep you within a certain comfort zone even if that comfort zone is a painful one. It is what you are and do. It is your conditioning. The point is drop the old conditioning and choose new conditioning.

Whatever You Whisper To Yourself Has The Most Power

Gratitude and appreciation may be a new habit for you. Positive thinking and optimism may be new to you. Persistence and follow through may be new to you. Discover YOU are NOT your conditioning and habits. You only think you are. You are not!

When you discover you are not, you are free. Your conditioning masks who you really are. Trade it in for better conditioning. You aren’t your hand. You use your hand. The same is true of your habitual thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

When you trade your old conditioning for new conditioning everything can work better. Why? Because this time YOU choose it. YOU DECIDE IT! You are in charge. You choose what to believe and when. You create what you want. You are in charge. That makes the difference. Celebrate everything!”
