What To Do When You Are Stuck In A Bad Story You Keep Repeating PT 2

“In my recent post I asked, what is a fact and what isn’t? I asked where could you put your attention when things aren’t going right, so you can unlock positive, productive possibilities? Today, I’ll  elaborate on how you can make positive and powerful changes.

There are times when you feel down and beaten. Do not let yourself get too far down. It is important to take control, in spite of circumstances and do whatever you can to feel better. To feel your best. Negative thinking produces negative feelings and it loops.

You can spiral down or spiral up. It is always your choice. It may not seem like it is. You may have learned to feel helpless or that things are hopeless but you aren’t and they are not. That is only prior negative conditioning and it can be changed. Seek to change it.

You Are Not The Product Of Circumstances But Of Your Decisions

Do whatever positive things you can to feel better. Take a walk. Work in the garden or on some physical project. Exercise, do yoga, get a massage. Run, sing, jump. Hang in nature for awhile. RECLAIM YOUR POWER and feel as best as you are able to.

Even just a little better is a step in the right direction. Keep taking steps in the direction of feeling your best and you will eventually get there. Keep the faith when all seems hopeless. It is hard at first, especially, if you haven’t yet conditioned yourself to do this. You can!

So where else might you put your attention that would be more productive and feel better. Think and speak only to bless, heal and prosper. What story do you want to perpetuate? The habitual negative, limited one, or the one with positive possibilities?

Joy Is A Decision – Happiness Is A Choice – Decide To Live Well

You aren’t aware of what you aren’t aware of. You can’t be. But you can begin to become aware of the other possibilities that are available to you by shifting your attention. How might things be otherwise than how you think they are? Consider  this.

You may think you have the gospel version and that is because of your prior, chronic, limited, negative conditioning. You are locked in a thought habit. You think you know how it is because this is how you operate. Do something this time. Change what you think.

It is your choice! Energy flows where your attention goes. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO CREATE? Ask yourself? HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE FEELING? What questions do you need to ask and where do you need to put your attention to do this? Then ask and then do!

Stop Reinforcing Negative Habits – Reinforce Positive Habits

Since you don’t know what you don’t know, STOP being limited by what you think you do know. Be willing to explore what else might be there you just haven’t considered yet. Explore. Search your inner resources. Make it a point to feel your best in spite of the obstacles.

Focus on gratitude. Focus on the little you have because when you do it expands. You can grow it. You can amplify the good or the bad it is your choice. How do you want to live? What do you want to feel like? It is always you decision and you determine the outcome.

The results you get are based on what you choose to focus on. Do you want to feel restricted, limited, and less than glorious or do you want to feel positive, powerful and unlimited. Either one depends on how you choose to use your mind. Start making positive changes.

Don’t Miss The Obvious Because Of The Obvious – Become Aware

DECIDE NOW to STOP REINFORCING NEGATIVE PATTERNS and scenarios. STOP living as a victim. Stop perpetuating your own limiting myths and start telling new stories. Start focusing on the good. Start living as a victor. Take charge!

When you take charge, when you deliberately focus your mind on the positive, when you live in gratitude for anything and everything, everything begins to change. You can make it all different. You can start living how you deserve to be living. DO IT! AND celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What To Do When You Are Stuck In A Bad Story You Keep Repeating

“What is a fact and what isn’t? I spoke with someone who described a situation and said, ‘that is the way it is.’ They let me know  they weren’t expressing, ‘it is what it is’, but that their version of reality was the only version. They felt circumstances couldn’t be changed.

They (I use they to obscure the individual and gender) felt they knew how everything was and would play out. I reminded them to be careful what story they were telling and repeating to self and others. After all, this is how we interact. We describe our history; our day.

Be sensitive to what you continue to perpetuate and to what you want to create. Put a guard before your thoughts and words. SPEAK ONLY to bless, heal and prosper. SPEAK ONLY the version you want to perpetuate. Speak the truth in advance of it happening. Declare!

Most People Miss The Obvious – Because Of The Obvious

Let the rest go. For example, when you think, ‘I don’t have enough money. I can’t do it. I will never find real love. Business sucks. With this economy I will never succeed. I am so unlucky’ or any other limiting thought variation, ask yourself a question or two.

‘What am I not noticing right now, that I could be seeing, had I another level of awareness? What am I missing that I could soon begin to notice? What else might I pay attention to that I haven’t yet? How might things be otherwise than how I think they are?’

‘What am I not seeing, not noticing or considering, that’d make a difference? Where else can I put my attention that would be more productive? Consider this: you are simply reacting the way you typically react because of your prior, chronic, conditioning. Get it?

Become Alert – Become Aware – There Are Infinite Possibilities

You aren’t noticing what you don’t notice, hence you accept your version as the only version. I am not trying to get you to doubt yourself. I am trying to get you to doubt your limiting version. It is only a mental creation, as is anything else. You can believe it or not.

As Henry Ford stated, ‘whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.’ In other words, you don’t know, what you don’t know. There are many other possible avenues for you to pursue than you realize. It is important to be open to other versions. Get it, yet?

‘In how many different ways might I discover I am truly loved and can find an ideal mate?’ May be a question to consider. ‘How quickly can I discover that I have always had enough money, even when it didn’t seem like it, Things always work out and I land on my feet.’

Recognize When You Are Stuck In Your Own Loop And Change It

‘There are businesses all around me. Some do better, some worse. How soon might I be delighted, to begin, to discover the many different ways I can improve my  business success? ‘In how many different ways have things always worked out positively for me?’

EVEN IF I DIDN’T NOTICE IT YET! Awareness is an ongoing process. We can’t consider everything. We typically consider what we are used to considering. There are many things outside our present awareness we could consider instead. This is important!

More in the next blog. Now ask yourself, what can you feel grateful for? Discover your many blessings you haven’t fully validated, yet. Put your attention on the good. Fill your mind with what you have that IS working. Suspend putting attention on anything less than glorious. Begin now to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How Your Self Talk Affects You Good And Bad!

“Happiness is a left brain function. It is directly tied to what you say to yourself on the inside. Speech is left brain, too. We’re as happy as our self talk is happy and positive. We’re as happy as our thoughts and pictures. We’re as happy as the story we routinely tell ourselves.

We think in pictures more than words. ‘A picture is worth 1000 words’. We make pictures, both inside and outside of our awareness, and describe those images. We also describe what we experience and make internal images.  Words bridge the inner and the outer.

That’s why we create what we think and speak. Importance has been given to our words as a creative force from ancient times. Words are used to describe our mental blueprints. We translate an idea into action, for ourselves and for others, through the words we choose.

What You Say Is What You Get – Control Your Self Talk

The stories we tell ourselves are important. They affect us! We need to tell ourselves better stories if we want our lives to improve. We need to speak more kindly to ourselves, silently and out loud. We need to monitor and improve our self talk, and our talk to others.

You bring about what you think about. What you focus on expands. What you see, say and feel IS what you get. You either reinforce the crap in your life by your thoughts, words and deeds or you make things better by your thoughts, words and deeds. It’s mindset first!

If you’re feeling crappy you’re imagining things as crappy. You’re seeing crappy things inside and out AND saying crappy things to yourself and others. That’s why you feel crappy. You deserve better! You can change all that, by changing what you’re doing inside!

What You See Is What You Get – Visualize Only Positive Good

When you do have positive, mental images and nurturing self talk you feel good. Positive feelings arise. You can also create positive feelings, by making positive mental images and self talk, deliberately. This is called visualization and affirmations. See, speak and hear!

Every day, deliberately imagine what you want for yourself. Imagine the good you desire, as if you already have it. Affirm and declare it with words and your physical energy. Feel it, Be passionate and emotional about it. Enjoy it! Be thrilled and eager. Savor it!

Command yourself to be who and what you want to be. Imagine and feel that. Every day, see it. Command yourself to become that. Affirm that you are it. Declare it done! On the inside, live it. Make it real. Walk it about, live it in daily life. Act as if. Imagine fully. Get it?

What You Feel Is What You Get – Feel Your Best – Act As If

Repeated visualizing and affirming get your mind to work for you instead of you working for it. Make things happen. Get control over those words you already are saying to yourself. Stop talking about what you don’t want. Only affirm what you DO want to reinforce.

PAY ATTENTION to your words. Speak ONLY to bless, heal and prosper. Make them positive. The words you use are powerful, so use them wisely. Use everything you have in a positive and powerful way. Practice gratitude. Be delighted in the process and your progress. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

That One Or Two PerCent!

“You are the creator of your life. Mindset determines what you create. You create based on your thoughts and your feelings. Your actions matter. They are important but not as important as you might think. The key is to work smarter not harder. It’s important.

Many people are busy but not productive. They confuse activity with accomplishment. This is because they focus in the wrong area. They focus on how to do things and what to do rather than the mindset that gives rise to the right, inspired actions. You must get this!

Actions matter not as much as your thoughts, attitude or mindset. Your thoughts and mindset pave the way. It is hard for people to grasp this concept. Your mindset is 98-99% what you need to focus on. Your actions are the 1 or 2% that you do. Pay attention to this.

Your Attitude Determines Your Direction And Your Altitude

What you think creates how you feel. How you feel determines what you think and your actions. What you think, feel and do create your results. The starting point of your results is your thinking. Your mindset. Get that right and the rest falls into place. Get it?

Your mindset is the cause. The results are the effect. Get it, cause and effect? Sadly, when things don’t go right, most people start trying to change the results. They try to change the effect. They get preoccupied with what isn’t working and what to do next. 

Instead of being focused on the effect, you must work on the cause. You must improve the mindset that determines your feelings, actions and therefore your results.  Positive feelings stem from positive thoughts. To change your results change your thinking!

To Guarantee Success Act As If It Were Impossible To Fail

Get it? More positive thoughts stem from the positive feelings. When those are correctly aligned you take inspired action. The actions feel right because they stem from right thinking and great feeling. Actions for action sake doesn’t get you anywhere.

There’s being productive, then there’s being preoccupied. It’s not what you do, it’s what you think and feel that determines how far you go. That’s why Napoleon Hill titled his book, ‘THINK and Grow Rich’, not Work Harder and Grow Rich. Mindset matters most!

This is why I keep suggesting you read and listen to audios. Attend events, live and online. Hang out with mentors, coaches and positive people. Do daily affirmations and visualization. Keep a success journal and practice gratitude. Get the mindset right so you succeed.

Do these things repeatedly, long enough, consistently and then your actions will matter. They will increase the likelihood of your success. You’ll be surprised with the results you will be getting. Actually, you won’t be surprised at all, because you will deliberately create them. Do you get that? Be thankful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Successful People Do This Deliberately Or Not

“People who are successful do specific things to get that way and stay that way. They either ‘luck’ into discovering what to do, meaning they discover it on their own, in time, OR, they are taught, or ‘lucky’ enough to be raised in a family that emphasizes these.

Get it? The people, who are successful and people who live a happy life, already do these things on purpose or they have learned to do it unwittingly. Some do what I have been describing in these blog pages, with or without, realizing they do these things. It is fortunate.

What do they do. They read positive and inspiring material everyday. They seek to learn to be in charge of themselves.  They commit to daily improvement to be the best person they can be. They commit to their purpose. They invest in themselves and their future. Get it?

Stay Positive – Be Strong – Feel Your Best – You Can Do It – Do It

They live in the present, inspired, feeling gratitude and help inspire and encourage others. They maintain a positive attitude. They apply what they learn from reading, mentors, workshops and experience. They feel good and take inspired actions. They do it! THEY DO IT!

They listen to inspiring talks and audios. They keep their mind fit and conditioned with a healthy, hearty, mental diet designed to help them get to the top of their game. They hang out with other positive people. They celebrate the success of others. They add value to all.

If they get mad, they get mad at circumstances, enough to want to change things. Then they turn from the problem and spend their time focused on what they want to create. They don’t let hard times take the wind out of their sail. They know, hard times helps them.

You Get What You Focus On Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

In adversity are lessons and seeds of opportunity. They take 100% responsibility for everything in their life, good or bad. However, they don’t consider the bad, bad. They consider trying circumstances as incredible opportunities, that will all work out in the end. Get it?

They attend live seminars and online events to network, share and learn from others. They share and contribute generously. In doing so they learn, and evolve more, and get back much more than they give. They don’t focus on what they don’t have, but what they do have.

As stated, some stumble into doing this along life’s pathway. Others were brought up instructed in what’s important. Daily, they are thankful and grateful. They don’t focus on the how ,but believe they are resourceful enough to make it happen, in time. They trust.

You Make It Happen – You Create It – You Attract It – You Do It

They write down their goals. They journal. They keep a success diary. They visualize and affirm their desires with enthusiasm. They have a zest for life and are passionate about their projects and dreams. They learn to work smarted not harder. They know it is 99% mental.

They are beacons in the dark. They attract others to them because they vibrate and transmit positive energy. You can feel it when in their presence. They love life and are grateful for everything. They consistently and automatically manifest what they want. They do!

Successful people learn how to make things happen. They practice and conditioning themselves, repeatedly, long enough, consistently, to master the abilities. It is habit for them to make good things happen. Successful people do some or all of these things. And you?

You Will Always Be Out Of Your Comfort Zone If You Are Growing

All this can be yours too, when you commit to making yourself, and your life, the best ever. Do these things and you will be happy and successful, too! Savor the seconds, make marvelous the minutes, delight in the day! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Make Changes You Haven’t Been Getting PT 2

“Have you wondered why I have this as a lead picture? Why a field with a bale of hay? What does this farm image have to do with you, your career, your success and happiness? What do you suppose Rex might be getting at? It is important; the picture and the point.

I’ll get to that reason in a moment, but first, realize you are energy. Every thing is energy and everything vibrates. You vibrate your thoughts and feelings.  Current research indicates your heart vibrates and transmits 1000s of times stronger than your brain.

Tens of thousands of times stronger than thoughts, are your feelings. You can research into this area of ‘heart coherence’. What does this mean? It means you vibrate a feeling. What you are feeling most often in your life is what you are radiating, transmitting, creating.

You Will Always Be Out Of Your Comfort Zone If You Are Growing

What you feel is what you attract. How do you feel most of the time? Are you frustrated, are you okay, or are you enthused and joyful? It actually matters! You create who and what you are over, what you want. You create and attract what you feel most frequently.

This is one reason it is important to feel your best. Even if you feel crummy, move towards feeling a little bit better. It also dictates how we create and attract what we want. If you want a brand new car, thinking of the car is not what gets you the car. The car isn’t it.

It is the feeling you will have of getting the car. Why do you want it? How will you feel to get it? What does it feel like to own and drive it? Get it? It is the feeling of already having the car that gets you the car.  You make it happen. Feelings are the driver! Feelings matter!

Stay Positive – Be Strong – Feel Your Best – You Can Do It – Do It

Feelings come from the thoughts, the images and beliefs you repeatedly think. If you think a bad thought you feel bad. Because you feel bad your next thought is negative. It is a loop, spiraling downward. You can spiral upward, too. That’s what you want to do!

Positive or negative feelings drive your actions and inaction. When you are feeling top of the world, on your game, vibrating high, you generate inspired actions. These feelings inform the brain’s Reticular Activating System (RAS) to be alerted to opportunity.

If you are focused on the car, and having the feelings of already having it, your RAS alerts you to opportunities to make getting the car happen. It works this way. Feel great and great things happen. Feel less than great and less than great things happen. Get it?

Energy Goes Where Attention Goes – Feel Your Very Best

You are responsible for what you get, or don’t. If you aren’t getting what you want, then you must make some changes in order to create what you want. It is completely up to you! Stop blaming and accusing, making excuses and complaining, and start feeling better.

Think, feel and act better. NOW the picture. The bale of hay, those bales of hay, didn’t attract themselves magically into the shape they are. Someone did the work. Someone made it happen. Whether the person enjoyed it or not, a human did it, by hand or machine.

You must take charge and be in charge to get what you want in life. Don’t wish it or expect others to do it for you. YOU do it! You and only you. When you take 100% responsibility for everything, no matter what, you operate from a place of power and leadership.

You Make It Happen – You Create It – You Attract It – It Is You

Lead yourself into greatness, why don’t you? If you spend most of your time feeling great and blissful and ecstatic and joyful, then you’ll get more of that.  If most of the time you feel OK, you’ll get OK. If you feel sucky, then you get sucky back. That’s Law Of Attraction.

You get back what you put out. You get back the results of your creating. Become ‘the cause’, instead of being ‘at effect’. To be responsible means you look at what it is that you’re not getting and make changes so that you can make it happen.  Get it? I hope so!

100% responsibility. Shouldering that responsibility means changing things in your life, so that your life can change. Be willing to examine yourself about what you’re doing or are not doing. Then make the positive change that brings you closer to what you do want. Do it.

What You Feel Is What You Get – What You Think Is How You Feel

This is another reason why gratitude is so important. When you’re focused on what you’re thankful for you feel better. When you feel better you create better. You attract better things into your life. You make better things happen. That is why it’s important to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Make The Changes You Haven’t Been Getting

“Life not going the way you hoped? You think you are doing everything right, everything you can do, but things turn sour. What is going on with that? Can you get what you want without all the drama and upheavals?  Responsibility is most likely the issue.

In today’s age, few people seem to want to take responsibility for anything. Blaming and accusing others while making excuses for ourselves seems to rule. ‘I wasn’t late. It was the traffic!’ ‘It isn’t my fault. My parents never taught me.’ ‘Damn corporations!’ Get it?

We have a tendency to shift the responsibility away from ourselves. We don’t hold ourselves accountable. If we really want to change and create the best life ever, this is an important area to begin to make some changes in. Each of us needs to live to a higher standard.

Distance Yourself From Negativity And Beautiful Things Happen 

IF things aren’t going the way you hope, then the responsible thing to do is to accept 100% responsibility for any, and all, results you are getting, or not getting. When things go bad it is time to reflect on our thoughts and behaviors, not accuse and blame others. Reflect!

If things aren’t going the way that you hope, or the way that you would like them to, STOP and look at what you were vibrating. What are you thinking and feeling? What are your predominant thoughts in or outside of your awareness? Analyze your thoughts and feelings.

Look to yourself so you can change yourself, and your thoughts and your feelings. Stop blaming outer circumstances and others. Change your thoughts, your feelings and your actions. Accept responsibility and become accountable for what you do, or don’t do. Get it?

Either You Run The Day Or The Day Runs You

It is all on you. By deciding to be accountable you put yourself in the driver’s seat. You take charge. Your circumstance isn’t up to, or on, anyone or anything else. It is all completely up to you. Whether you do it, or not. Whether you make it happen, or not. It is all your doing.

Yes, many people don’t want to accept that. They haven’t lived that way, so making this change seems difficult. That’s right, it SEEMS difficult. Once you begin the process, it gets easier and easier. It is mental conditioning. Like anything else, it gets easier as you do it.

Consider this: for years and years and years you have lived habitual, chronic, less than glorious, limited thinking and beliefs, feelings and actions. Then you discover the Law Of Attraction and positive thinking and think everything will magically change. You wish it.

All Things Are Difficult Before They Are Easy 

You hope that spending 10 minutes, or so, each day thinking positive about what you want, will change everything. You do it for awhile but at the first speed bump, if you are like many, throw in the towel. They give up. They blame it and claim it didn’t work. Get it? Do you?

That is wishful thinking. The TRUTH is, it requires a reconditioning of your thinking. How quickly things change is up to you. It could happen almost instantaneously. Usually, it requires more time. Just as planting a seed takes time to develop and grow and blossom.

The promise of the Law Of Attraction is that the PREDOMINANT thought in your mind, is what you will make happen. It is what you are thinking about most often that you become, do and have. You become what you think about most frequently. Get it? Do you?

What You Think About Most Often You Become

What are your most often thoughts? What do you spend most of your time attending to? Is what you want a burning desire? Is it an obsession? Are you mostly concentrating on the good you desire and imagining how good it feels to have that right now, or not?

IF, most of the time, you’re thinking distractions, petty annoyances; the traffic, weather, gossip, blaming government, others. the media, and the weather, THEN you are spending your time with less than glorious elements, negative and wasted thoughts. Its your time!

If you are noticing the distance between where you are and what you want, you are focused on the lack, and on not having it. You are concentrated on how you don’t have what you wanted; how far a distance it is, until you get there. So that’s what continue to create. 

Feelings Are The Driver – You Choose What To Feel – Feel Great

Get it? It is all up to you, not the environment or others, to make happen what you want to make happen. I’ll share more next blog but for now get used to the idea of taking 100% responsibility for everything in your life, good or bad. That decision is life changing!

Everything can instantly change the moment you make a powerful decision to take charge. I don’t mean suddenly rainbows and fairy dust appear. I mean you assume control of your life and from that starting point you are ABLE to make changes you weren’t before.
