How To Have A Wonderful Life Part 3

“Focus on positivity for most of your time! With strong positive, powerful emotion. Focus on what you want for most of your time. In other words, think positively and you become more positive. The more you do the more you are able to do. Get it? You transform.

Instead of 80% crap, or 51% crap or 30% crap you reduce your crap factor and begin living those percentages in positivity and happiness with more success all along the way. So put your teeter toter weight on the happiness side. Get it? Do you get this concept and principle?

What you focus on, positivity or negativity matters. How long you focus on it matters. How strongly you focus matters. So become predominantly positive throughout your day and your life becomes predominantly positive too. Otherwise your mostly negative.

Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

So it is a choice how you want to spend your life’s moments. How many years you want to wait before you make it a great life? Is there anything that would or could prevent you from being and doing and having everything you want? Yes, probably there is.

Limiting beliefs and excuses will stop you. Still, you can over come these. Mindset rules. So rule your mindset. Take charge and change them. Affirm, ask Directed Questions™, Visualize, deign your mind and your life experience to be what you want it to be. Take action.

In the next post I’ll discuss more how you make this happen. I will share with you a friend and his creative attitude. I’ll even share some ‘problem’ areas some people experience but that you can change. Remember, this is all about you transforming yourself.

More than knowing ‘how’ you must absolutely want to. Who you want to be is far more important than knowing how. You need to first determine your destination. Once that is established you can determine the route. Get it?

Design your mind and your life by determining who and what you will be like then. Then decide to become it no matter what! Focus your attention and energies in powerful ways. Can We Change Reality? Hell, Never Let That Stop You!

“We operate off internal maps of reality, not off reality. A map is a representation of a territory, as such, it cannot be the same as the territory, nor can it include all that which makes up the territory. It is only representation. It ‘re-presents’ something else.

As such, elements or components will be deleted, minimized or distorted.  It isn’t the same as the ‘real thing’. It is a mental, subjective construct, of the outer. We are aware of it through our senses, and from our beliefs, values, memories and such.

Our subjective mental map may, or may not be very accurate at all. Many of us forget we are operating from maps and mistake them as the real deal. This is how a popular phrase came to be. ‘You order the food from a menu. You don’t eat the menu.’ Well, do you?

Eat The Food Not The Menu – The Map Is Not The Territory

The menu is a representation of promised food offerings to come. Get it? So, what holds us back, are our own limitations. What stops us, are inner blocks and fears or worries about the outer, which may or may not even apply, though its reasonable to assume, they could.

It is our perception of reality. If our perception changes is there a difference? If a man, inside a prison cell feels free, then he experiences freedom, while others see him as imprisoned. What is ‘the’ reality?  Whose reality counts? What does ‘reality’ serve to do?

It is a weak analogy, but my point is, never let your thoughts about reality, prevent you from being the best you you can be. What if it were different and the person is actually free, yet imagines himself imprisoned? He feel in prison, yet, others see him as free. Get it?

Limitations Exist Only In The Mind – What You Focus On Expands

Both of these examples occur frequently in life. Some bust through apparent blocks, others are stopped by the invisible fears and worries. What is the truth? My guess is, for the individual, it is whatever they think it is. Free or not. They determine reality.

Get it? Reality is a mental construct we each individually create, and, to an extent, share some overlap. Someone, will ask the obvious ill-formed question, ‘then if I believe I can fly should I jump off a roof?’ No. If your wise, you stand on the ground and attempt to take off.

Everyone will come to their own conclusions. That is how it should be. Each person decides their own truth. Can we make it snow or stop snowing by thinking about it? Personally, I wouldn’t waste my time. Though, it is a matter of what is important to you, not me.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Cant You Are Right

Still,  I wouldn’t let thoughts about an economy, or the world, prevent me from attempting to move forward. Someone once said, ‘the only limitations there are,  exist in one’s own mind.’ Napoleon Hill stated. ‘If you can conceive it, and believe it, you can achieve it.’

Whether you do or not, is completely up to you. Whether, or not, you can first imagine it, believe you can do it, and then attempt it, is up to you.  If those three things are in place, you CAN achieve it, but you have to work at it. Mindset is first. Effort is second. It is up to you.

Those who say it cannot be done, of course, are correct too. For them! They can’t imagine it, don’t believe it, so they won’t attempt to achieve it. That is their reality or their truth. Neither case is ‘the’ truth. It simply is what it is. Limitations exist only in the mind!

If You Can Conceive It And Believe It You Can Achieve It

I like to keep things simple and as straightforward as possible. Henry Ford said, ‘whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.’ . I think that says it all, about everything.  So the question really is a matter of good taste and time. What do you want in life?

Some waste time, trying to do silly things. Yet, we can spend our time well. What gives us the most bang for our buck? Would learning to fly from the ground up without assistance be that, or would learning how to be happy and successful and live the life of your dreams?

Which is more important is where the person will spend their time. If one chooses to fly, so be it. That is their choice at this time on their path, and it’s not really for me to judge. I feel the same with regard to the other proposition. Each person will do, or not, what they do.

You Become What You Think About Most Frequently

So, when it comes down to it, it is personal. The person will decide for themselves, where they are on their journey. While I may have an opinion about how they are spending their time, they won’t be able to hear it, until they are able to hear it. I hope you get this point.

So my opinion doesn’t actually matter. Arguing with them is fruitless, perhaps. When it is right, they will get it. Whenever, that is.  It isn’t for me to judge them either way. I think of it this way. I can invite everyone to a party. Those who come, do so. Those who don’t, don’t.

I don’t need to be concerned with who does what. I made the invitation and the choice is in their hands. It is up to them what they do with it. Same applies to how people use their consciousness to evolve. It’s not up to me, but up to each person. How are you doing?

What You Think See And Say Is What You Get – You Create It

What do you believe? What do you attempt? What do you allow to hold you back? If you could change it, would you? If so, why haven’t you? When will you, if not today? The answer to these is part of that mental map. Thoughts, thought habits, beliefs and what you value.

If you can conceive it, imagine the possibility, and believe you can accomplish it, that it IS possible for you, then you can or could achieve it, if you go after it, relentlessly until you get it. Get it? You make it happen, or you don’t. That is it, in a nutshell, so to speak.

I have found, the most rewarding journey is one that is predominantly based in hope, in optimism and in gratitude for everything. When we live appreciating who we are, all of our experiences, what we have, and the journey, becomes wonderful. We are free to become nearly anything we choose. It is a mindset, an attitude and a heart thing. We feel good and we do more. This is why I say, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Release Your ‘Why Nots’ And Start Getting What You Want

“Could there be something holding you back, preventing you, from getting what you want? Once discovered you could stop, or change it, so you could begin making things happen. People miss out because they have ‘reasons’ why they can’t have what they want.

When you release all the reasons why you cannot have it, you will have it. It’s a de-conditioning process. You have to wake you up from the trance you are in. The trance you’re in, is the belief you don’t deserve it. You can’t have it. It requires hard work. You suck.

Life sucks! More bad reasons why you can’t have something includes; you’re not lucky enough, you weren’t raised right, you’re not smart enough, nor have you what it takes, other people deserve it, but not you. You have to stop believing these lies. Wake up!

To Get What You Want You Must Stop Doing What Isn’t Working

Stop the blaming. Quit making excuses. Drop the whining. Let go of all the reasons why you can’t have it and you can start having it.
As I dictated this blog post, the word ‘trance’ printed out as ‘trench’. In some ways that’s is quite apropos. You dig yourself into a trench.

Believing bad beliefs dig you a trench, of your own making. The goal is to get you out of that trench and wake you up from that trance. Once you’re out of the trench, and awakened from the trance, you can start manifesting all of your desires. This is important.

You will begin manifesting your desires because you no longer prevent yourself from getting them. That is your old conditioned way of thinking and being. Release the old conditioned ways and become aware of the possibilities that you can then create.

Stop Doubting – Believe In Yourself – Get What You Want

Prior to waking up, and getting out of the trance, you live from the conditioned mind, that tells you, you can’t have the thing, you don’t deserve to. So you want it but you don’t believe you can have it. You want it, but you don’t feel good about getting it. So you don’t get it.

You focus on your problems, not on what you want. So you continue to create more problems. You don’t believe you’re going to get it, so you don’t get it. You don’t feel good about getting it, so you don’t get it. Remember, you become what you think about. Thoughts expand.

You feel bad when you think about your goals, so you end up creating more struggle. I want to help you create everything you want with ease. To do this, you need to learn to let go of the old conditioned mind and embrace the new thinking. Think positively.

Have The Courage To Let Go Of That Which Has Held You Back

Use new thoughts and beliefs to get you to everything you want to have. Release, delete, let go of that which isn’t working, so that you can have more of what you want. It’s a decision you have to make.  You have to decide to stop continuing as you were. You must quit it.

You must stop perpetuating the myths and start living free as a champion and victor. You need to realize you are always, already, creating. You can’t not create but you’re creating what you don’t want. I want you to learn how to create what you do want!

Until you let go you may continue to struggle. Let go and give in. Give in to gratitude and optimism. Give in to enjoyment and enthusiasm. Give into expecting good things to happen. Trust, believe, have faith. Become certain you can create the life you want to live. Then you will begin to create more of the good stuff. Celebrate your wins. Celebrate everything!’ Rex Sikes

How Not To Make Yourself Or Others Wrong

“Perception is everything. What you perceive IS what is. Someone says, ‘you hurt me’.  It may or may not be accurate. You may or may not have done anything, but, if they perceive it to be the case, then that is the reality. At least, for them. However, you are included.

Thus, it is somehow the reality for you, too. Do not argue against them. Don’t  say, ‘it’s all in your head. You’re making it up. You’re crazy. That’s not true.’ Making them wrong, won’t make it right. It is what they believe the reality is. You believe otherwise.

Everybody believes what they believe. Each of us believes our experience is the truth. It may not be. Still,  that’s what we believe it is. We want to be right. We don’t want to be told that we are wrong or crazy or insane or that it’s ridiculous to believe. We hate that.

The Limits Of Your Vision Are Not The Limits Of The World

Some say, ‘I saw with my own eyes. I heard with my own ears!’ Have you ever recounted a past event with a family member, or friend, and you have completely different versions of what occurred? It’s because we recall different elements. We perceive it differently.

If someone says they were slighted by you seek to find out exactly what occurred. Discover why they feel slighted. Attempt to smooth things over through rapport,  with trust and understanding. Put yourself in their shoes. Understand where they’re coming from.

By doing this, you preserve the relationship and, you might discover how they construed your behaviors to mean something particular. If you DID do something, even if you didn’t intend it, wouldn’t you want to make it better? Wouldn’t you want to correct it, if you could?

Difficulties Are Just Things To Overcome And Learn From 

Would you not want someone to do the same for you?  I assume you would want them to be understanding, patient, and tolerant of you. You’d prefer them to  not make snap judgments about you. Correct? Seek to understand where the other person is coming from.

You may help them see it differently. The high road may be to not defend, but say, ‘I am sorry. I didn’t mean to. That wasn’t my intent. What can I do to make up for it? How can we move past this?’ It isn’t about blaming you or them. It is about creating understanding.

Whenever you can build bridges instead of burn bridges that is what you might attempt to do. It may turn out they simply misunderstood you or that you inadvertently did, or said something, that hurt them. If you have a chance to make it better, do so. Don’t let ego prevent.

People See And Believe What They Want To See And Believe

It is better than blaming, even if they are. Blaming back, won’t help anything. Making excuses, whining, complaining, getting angry or getting even, doesn’t help. Perception is everything. It is what we believe is real. Whether it is or isn’t, we believe it to be.

You might think the economic downturn is why you have problems. It is why you have debt or can’t get a job. This will make it more difficult for you to get ahead. That’s a belief. That is what you perceive the situation to be. It may or may not be accurate.

You might believe the weather prevents you from doing certain things.  You may believe that your family or your educational background prevents you from creating success.  There could be ‘some truth’ to these.  A company may not be hiring. Get it?

What We See Never Has Anything To Do With The Truth

A company may require you have a particular degree  in order to get work. That doesn’t mean your your life is over if you don’t have one. There are plenty of wealthy,  happy people who aren’t educated well. Still, they became successful. They didn’t let it stop them. Don’t you.

Limitations only exist in the mind. Our imagination can be our best friend or our worst enemy. Problems exist mostly in the mind. It is what we think we can’t do that limits us. It is not thinking and not discovering what we can do that limits us. It is our imagination.

What we perceive the reality to be, will be what our reality is. If we think we are right and they are wrong, so be it. If we think they are right and we are wrong, so be it.  Whatever we think and believe to be the case or the reason becomes our story about what is.

My Perception Of You Is A Reflection Of Me

Don’t let thoughts stop you from doing the right thing. Don’t be stopped because your mindset hasn’t yet found a solution to a difficulty. Be optimistic. Become positive and seek to find or create a way. Adjust, correct and continue. Write a different story. You can!

Stay open. Become available and aware. Create harmony. Seek the high road. Be grateful. Appreciate yourself and your abilities. If you need to develop certain skills, develop them. Learn. Appreciate others. Realize perception IS everything! That is why Henry Ford said, ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t you are right!’ Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

We Are Prisoners Of Our Own Making But We Can Change That!

“Growing up, my main idol was Harry Houdini, escape artist extraordinaire. He was a magician and an escape artist who died in 1926 but whose name is used nearly daily to describe incredible feats. His name became a verb in the dictionary. ‘To do a Houdini’.

What does he have to do with our thoughts? I have shared here how great thought leaders from ancient times through today have pointed out that our only limitations exist in our thinking and what we believe. If we think we can or we can’t, we are right.

Thinking makes it so. Whatever we focus on expands. If we are predominantly negative or don’t think we can, if we don’t believe we can make things happen and design a life to live on our own terms, then it is unlikely we will ever do so. Thoughts stop us if we let them.

A Breakthrough – When The Impossible Becomes Possible

Houdini made a name for himself by going around this and other countries offering to escape from their jail cells. He challenged the police to restrain him and constrain him in such a way that he could not get free. He offered cash rewards to those who could hold him.

He never had to pay. He escaped. He knew what he was doing and beyond that he was a master marketer and publicist. He knew how to get attention. In one jail, he was stripped naked as usual. Searched to make sure he had no keys or lock picks and then shackled.

The door is closed and locked. The jailers and press leave. Typically, within a certain amount of time Houdini would emerge dressed and free of the shackles having escaped the locked cell. Houdini is now inside a cell, his jailers gone and he is working on the cell lock.

The Mind That Perceives The Limitation Is The Limitation

He can’t pick it. He used hidden picks but today it was not working. An hour went by and he began to panic. He had never encountered a jail cell lock he couldn’t pick. He kept trying. His entire reputation was on the line. If he failed his career was over. He couldn’t pick it.

Another passed. He was covered in sweat. Afraid. Near exhaustion he collapsed against the jail cell door and it swung open. What? It swung open! The jailers, in all the commotion, had forgotten to lock the door. They simply shut it and left the room. No one realized.

Not even Houdini. Shocked, but relieved, he quickly dressed and exited the cell triumphant. Headlines in the paper praised his escape. Only Houdini knew the truth until he revealed it years later. He was a prisoner of his own mind. He thought the door was locked.

Life Becomes Limitless When You Become Fearless

That is the same with each of us. We are prisoners of our own limiting thoughts and beliefs. We have assumptions we grew up with that go unchallenged. We think we can’t or are not good enough. We must stop believing the limitations and instead challenge them.

Whenever you doubt you can do anything positive that would mean a good change for you and for others you should stop. Stop doubting you can and start doubting that you can’t. You should doubt your limitations. Stop believing them. Know you can and doubt you can’t.

Our beliefs and thoughts are old conditioning we adopted growing up. Perhaps, useful at one time or in a particular context, they need to be evaluated and challenged. Houdini learned to always check each door after that just in case someone left it open. He learned.

The Only Thing Limiting Us Is Our Belief There Are Limits

We can learn too. We can learn to go beyond limitations and stop being a prisoner of our own thinking. We can excel and move forward in positive ways when we give ourselves reasons to. Find your strengths and talents. You have so many. Begin appreciating yourself. Be grateful for who you are. Feel blessed. Realize you are incredibly resourceful. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
