Can We Change Reality? Hell, Never Let That Stop You!

“We operate off internal maps of reality, not off reality. A map is a representation of a territory, as such, it cannot be the same as the territory, nor can it include all that which makes up the territory. It is only representation. It ‘re-presents’ something else.

As such, elements or components will be deleted, minimized or distorted.  It isn’t the same as the ‘real thing’. It is a mental, subjective construct, of the outer. We are aware of it through our senses, and from our beliefs, values, memories and such.

Our subjective mental map may, or may not be very accurate at all. Many of us forget we are operating from maps and mistake them as the real deal. This is how a popular phrase came to be. ‘You order the food from a menu. You don’t eat the menu.’ Well, do you?

Eat The Food Not The Menu – The Map Is Not The Territory

The menu is a representation of promised food offerings to come. Get it? So, what holds us back, are our own limitations. What stops us, are inner blocks and fears or worries about the outer, which may or may not even apply, though its reasonable to assume, they could.

It is our perception of reality. If our perception changes is there a difference? If a man, inside a prison cell feels free, then he experiences freedom, while others see him as imprisoned. What is ‘the’ reality?  Whose reality counts? What does ‘reality’ serve to do?

It is a weak analogy, but my point is, never let your thoughts about reality, prevent you from being the best you you can be. What if it were different and the person is actually free, yet imagines himself imprisoned? He feel in prison, yet, others see him as free. Get it?

Limitations Exist Only In The Mind – What You Focus On Expands

Both of these examples occur frequently in life. Some bust through apparent blocks, others are stopped by the invisible fears and worries. What is the truth? My guess is, for the individual, it is whatever they think it is. Free or not. They determine reality.

Get it? Reality is a mental construct we each individually create, and, to an extent, share some overlap. Someone, will ask the obvious ill-formed question, ‘then if I believe I can fly should I jump off a roof?’ No. If your wise, you stand on the ground and attempt to take off.

Everyone will come to their own conclusions. That is how it should be. Each person decides their own truth. Can we make it snow or stop snowing by thinking about it? Personally, I wouldn’t waste my time. Though, it is a matter of what is important to you, not me.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Cant You Are Right

Still,  I wouldn’t let thoughts about an economy, or the world, prevent me from attempting to move forward. Someone once said, ‘the only limitations there are,  exist in one’s own mind.’ Napoleon Hill stated. ‘If you can conceive it, and believe it, you can achieve it.’

Whether you do or not, is completely up to you. Whether, or not, you can first imagine it, believe you can do it, and then attempt it, is up to you.  If those three things are in place, you CAN achieve it, but you have to work at it. Mindset is first. Effort is second. It is up to you.

Those who say it cannot be done, of course, are correct too. For them! They can’t imagine it, don’t believe it, so they won’t attempt to achieve it. That is their reality or their truth. Neither case is ‘the’ truth. It simply is what it is. Limitations exist only in the mind!

If You Can Conceive It And Believe It You Can Achieve It

I like to keep things simple and as straightforward as possible. Henry Ford said, ‘whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.’ . I think that says it all, about everything.  So the question really is a matter of good taste and time. What do you want in life?

Some waste time, trying to do silly things. Yet, we can spend our time well. What gives us the most bang for our buck? Would learning to fly from the ground up without assistance be that, or would learning how to be happy and successful and live the life of your dreams?

Which is more important is where the person will spend their time. If one chooses to fly, so be it. That is their choice at this time on their path, and it’s not really for me to judge. I feel the same with regard to the other proposition. Each person will do, or not, what they do.

You Become What You Think About Most Frequently

So, when it comes down to it, it is personal. The person will decide for themselves, where they are on their journey. While I may have an opinion about how they are spending their time, they won’t be able to hear it, until they are able to hear it. I hope you get this point.

So my opinion doesn’t actually matter. Arguing with them is fruitless, perhaps. When it is right, they will get it. Whenever, that is.  It isn’t for me to judge them either way. I think of it this way. I can invite everyone to a party. Those who come, do so. Those who don’t, don’t.

I don’t need to be concerned with who does what. I made the invitation and the choice is in their hands. It is up to them what they do with it. Same applies to how people use their consciousness to evolve. It’s not up to me, but up to each person. How are you doing?

What You Think See And Say Is What You Get – You Create It

What do you believe? What do you attempt? What do you allow to hold you back? If you could change it, would you? If so, why haven’t you? When will you, if not today? The answer to these is part of that mental map. Thoughts, thought habits, beliefs and what you value.

If you can conceive it, imagine the possibility, and believe you can accomplish it, that it IS possible for you, then you can or could achieve it, if you go after it, relentlessly until you get it. Get it? You make it happen, or you don’t. That is it, in a nutshell, so to speak.

I have found, the most rewarding journey is one that is predominantly based in hope, in optimism and in gratitude for everything. When we live appreciating who we are, all of our experiences, what we have, and the journey, becomes wonderful. We are free to become nearly anything we choose. It is a mindset, an attitude and a heart thing. We feel good and we do more. This is why I say, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You’ll Never Be Free Until You Understand The Difference Between Mind And Matter!

What is your mind? Is it the brain? Is it within you or without? Excellent questions, but I am not going to discuss those. There is something far more practical and important I want to share with you that can make an incredible difference in your ability to thrive.

What is mind? Mind is duality. It is the collection of habits and experiences from birth to today. Mind is your inner voice that tells you whether something is possible or not. It informs you if you can be, do or have something or not. It is dual. It is yes and no. Get it?

It can be positive and negative. Mind is what you are most aware of without being aware of it at all. It is the thoughts closest to you that you think without realizing. It is the servo-mechanism designed to keep you the same, eliminate risk, and keep you alive. It’s a servant.

What You Believe Determines What You Make True

Yet, most people serve their mind.They do whatever it says, whenever, and get tossed about like a small boat on the sea. They live reacting to what they mind does. Do you? I sure have? We all have. Most still do. It is your inner critical voice. It is what stops you!

Mind reasons. It doesn’t matter whether its logic is accurate or faulty. The reasons can be insane or completely invalid. Still, those are the reasons we can or can’t be, do or have, something. It performs reliably, consistently, automatically, and habitually.

So what is matter? That’s much easier to briefly answer. Matter is the physical world. It is everything surrounding us. It shows us, it reveals to us, if we are savvy enough to become aware, the results of our thinking mind. Its the results of our thoughts and how we think.

Change Your Beliefs And You Change Your Reality

Mind affects matter. Matter affects mind. Most of us look at matter and accept it as a valid interpretation of what is. We think it is reality. We act, as if it is. We act from our beliefs and mindset, our thoughts and our limitations. Matter IS the story we tell ourself.

When we accept matter as accurate, valid, or true, we further perpetuate that which is. It becomes self-reenforcing and self fulfilling prophecy. We assume circumstances are accurate and real, and we operate from the limitations we hold of them. Get it?

We create our reality by our thinking. Then, we accept that reality, and that, in turn, affects how we continue to think about it. It is a perpetual loop. We spiral into more negativity the more negative examples we find. We find them, because we look for those. Get it?

Alter Your Mindset And You Alter The Results You Get

If you were to focus only on positive thoughts and how you imagined and intended the world to be, if you created and told and retold that story instead, you’d find examples to support that, and you’d create that reality. You’d perpetuate a positive reality. It would spiral up!

Mind over matter. Mindset first and foremost. Yet, when problems arise, instead of fixing and adjusting the mindset, people work on fixing the matter. They work on the wrong end of the horse, so to speak. It is a ‘mental’ issue not a matter issue. Most act otherwise.

In order to create and transcend, you have to get the order at which you work on things correct. Fix your mindset and the rest begins to fall in place. Fix matter and you still have a mindset that runs counter to it. Life doesn’t change until you change. Get it? I mean, do you?

We Are Exactly What We Believe We Are

If you don’t, it remains the same. Change yourself by learning how to control and manage your thinking. That’s what this blog, my work, and my programs, are designed to do; help you to create your best life ever. I am dedicated to help you transform yourself positively.

The universe, you, source, god, whatever you want to call it, is a field of pure potentiality. Infinite and limitless potential is what you are and what you possess. Only, you don’t yet, know that, or believe that with any certainty. Perhaps, you aren’t even aware of it, yet.

You transform when, you realize anything and everything is possible for you to be, do and have, anytime, anywhere. When you accept who and what you are, and live from that place of acceptance and knowing, then. When you believe in you! Doubt, doesn’t change you.

You Get What You Focus On You Get What You Think About Most

Knowing you are creating your every moment does. Accepting it and acting like it. A king or queen must act as one to rule effectively. A weak analogy but you should get the point. Learn who you are. Learn what you are. Learn what is available to you and claim it. Own it!

Act from your place of power. You are the owner of the mind. Take charge of it. Control it. Stop being a servant of your mind and be it’s master. Once you do, you will never be the same. You will open new doors of discovery and adventure, that will delight and surprise you.

Only you can do this. Only you will do it when you are ready to. Until then, you won’t get it or understand it. At best, it will be a concept you debate and remember. Most will think it’s  ‘crap’ and forget about it. Yet, this is how it works. You either discover it or you don’t.

You Are Your Thoughts You Are The Results Of What You Think

Best wishes! Wake up and claim what is yours.  ‘Reality’ is only a subjective, mental construct. Our thinking, feeling and acting, makes it what it is, OR, it changes it in a way that pleases us.  We can change our reality, when we change our thoughts, beliefs and expectations. Remember, what we think, believe and expect, makes it so. Practice gratitude! Live full. Be joyous! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What We Can Learn From David Lynch’s Twin Peaks

“I love the show by Mark Frost and David Lynch. Twin Peaks was phenomenal when it burst onto the television screen in the 90’s. Twin Peaks: The Return on Showtime 25 years later is phenomenal. There’s some  important lessons we can learn from this great show.

First, Twin Peaks is not for everyone. The new incarnation is brutal and the topic area, past and present, horrific. It is dark and twisted. Yet, in all of it, good exists and humor. Optimism in the face of terrifying and difficult times, prevail. There is good and evil.

Good may not always appear to win out at first. It may seem smothered at times, but keep the faith. Persist and stay true to the pursuit of the good. Keep your humor. Enjoy simple things. Have some coffee, pie or donuts. Remember, to ‘gift yourself’ says Cooper.

Grow Through What You Go Through

There is much to learn from inside the show. There is much to learn from the show design itself. Not everything is neatly wrapped up or explained for you. In this fashion, ABC’s Twin Peaks broke the mold of current TV in the 90’s and kept fans guessing for 25 years.

There are loose ends and rabbit holes. Lynch and Frost don’t tell you what to think or how to think. They let you figure things out for yourself. Not everything in life has answers you want. You may not like what you hear or receive. No one gives it to you. You seek it out.

What you find is up to you. You determine what you think it is all about. There is no fairy tale ending. There is no bad ending. There is no ending. It is open and you must decide where to go from here. It is all up to you. This story in in your hands. How do you resolve things?

Every Up And Down Provides You Lessons To Make you Strong

David Lynch has often said, as other artists have, that art is not to be explained by the artist but experienced by the experiencer. So what do you make of it? All three seasons of Twin Peaks, and the prequel Fire Walk With Me have been simultaneously loved and hated by fans.

That is art imitating life or life imitating art. Loose ends is all we have. We assign the meaning. Our lives are our stories. Our stories are our life. What do we tell? Do we love it or hate it? How much closure do we need to move on? There is no closure ever. Ever!

We are always in process. Keep seeking and you will find different meanings at different times. Secrets reveal themselves to those who persist. In the end, there may be no secrets. What will you do with that? What if it is all entertainment? What if it is just a ride to go on?

Life Isn’t Meant To Be Figured Out It Is Meant To Be Enjoyed

Perhaps, we never have it neatly wrapped up for us. Are you okay with that? Can you be thrilled with the ride just as it is? Twin Peaks is what it is. We interpret it. It doesn’t change for us, we adapt to it. Life is that way. Make the most of it while you can. Enjoy the ride.

Live in and with mystery. It is an ongoing process. It is eternal. There is nothing to really do except, accept all of it and, be grateful you can. Be glad you are able to have ups and downs. You are here. You are alive. You can be aware. You can live well if you choose. Let go of the need to make it something other than it is and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Here’s Why You Don’t Get More Of What You Want And How You Can!

“Everything in the universe is a specific arrangement of energy and information. Abundance is an arrangement of energy and information. The periodic chart lists the different arrangement of atoms making up the known elements. Still, it is all the same source.

According to Quantum Physics there is no emptiness, only energy everywhere. It is all the same energy, but arranged differently. You and me, and everything there is on this planet, and our known universe is made up of the same stardust. We are all one. All energy.

We are the energy and the abundance of the universe, living the illusion of being separate through our brain and mind. We imagine ourselves apart from and a part of, instead of one Source energy. We think things are separate from us. Apparently, they are not. Get it?

Everything Is Energy  – Your Thoughts Initiate It – Focus

What we believe makes the difference. We don’t know all we can do. Nor do we know what we can’t do. Anything is truly possible. To sort the difference, I use this method. Some things are better spent investing my time in than others. Get it? It is about having taste.

Abundance is energy. Money is energy. Health is energy. Love is energy. Everything is energy. Through our intention, our deliberate, clarified, specific thought of what we want to manifest, our burning desire, we can change the energy. We can draw it or repel it.

Even those notions are not accurate. All is as it is, when it is. Right now. So pulling or pushing is meaningless. Better to think we can accept it or not. We claim it or don’t. To make it happen we must get past the filters preventing us. That is the game of our lives, it seems.

Everything Is Energy – Your Feelings Amplify – Focus

Whether we have fun or delight is the question we face. What do you want it to be? It is already that. Now, discover it. Allow it. Accept it. Delight in it. Act as if you already have it. See it, feel it, hear it, speak it, taste it, smell it before it arrives. Do it from joy, not need.

When you need you keep putting it off. Like attracts more of the same. Need attracts or reinforces need. Having means having more. Feeling you have it now, means having it sooner than imagining how far you are from it. It is all a mind game. Take control of your mind.

We can create and manifest and make happen whatever we truly desire. It begins with thought. All thought is energy. All feelings are energy. Both are information. Align our thoughts and feelings with our desires and beliefs and we can make anything possible.

Everything Is Energy – Your Actions Increase The Momentum

Mindset matters. You can pretend anything and master it. Great inventions have been based on wrong science. Even then, when science corrects itself, the inventions don’t disappear. This may be nothing but a powerful reframe. It can get you what you want.

Abundance is source. It is energy and flow. You are source. You don’t realize it, yet, but you are. It isn’t about mere mental acceptance. It is about transformation and becoming. You are unlimited, and all powerful, to create what you want. Still, it is likely you don’t believe AND that’s why you don’t have what you want now. This IS why we must begin to, and continue to, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

It Is All BS! You Don’t Have To Do Anything To Change!

“Do you have to do anything to change? Can’t I just be the way I am and the world change for me if I wish hard enough? Must I really do something to make it different? I try lots of things but nothing really seems to work. It’s all BS, positive thinking, airy fairy stuff, right?

With that attitude one is bound to remain the same for a long time. The good news is you don’t have to do anything to change, you are always changing. That is the law. Things change for better, perhaps for the worse. Evolution is constant. It isn’t if, the question is when.

Given a long enough time, you and, your situation will be different, even if you do nothing. You are entitled to wait it out. However, if you want to change, within a realistic time frame, most likely, you will need to do something. Remember the definition of insanity?

I Am In Charge Of How I Think And Feel Today I Choose Happiness

People do the same thing over and over again expecting different results. I’ll add, people, who  do nothing over and over again expecting different results, are just as insane. If you always do what you always did, you always get, what you always got,  remember?

Positive thinking, is not about having glazed over eyes and a permanent fixed smile while uttering platitudes. It is about taking control of the gray matter that is running your show. Your thoughts affect you and this you already know! Don’t con yourself.

If you are feeling angry or depressed, you are thinking thoughts that, make you, or perpetuate the feeling bad, whether or not, the source seems to come from the outside.  It is your thoughts bothering you if you are complaining or blaming or others or the world! Thoughts!

To Change Your Life You Need To Change Your Thinking

If you are bothered in the morning, through the day and into the night because of trouble with a loved one, some work related issue or a ticket from an officer, your mind is on autopilot and you need to take control. Yet, some won’t because they don’t believe in it.

You don’t have to believe in it. That, BTW , is another thought or set of thoughts. It helps to believe in it because you may want to do it but you don’t have to. If you do it long enough, correctly, you will get the results and then you will have your own evidence for it.

You will know it. Knowing is different than believing. Some don’t engage in it because they fear they will become glazed eyed, perpetually smiling, positive zombies. Their own fear or apprehension for change prevents them. People do what they do.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

Positive thinking is a powerful, realistic approach to living life more fully. Either we master our thoughts or they remain the master of us. We are either in control of our thinking process or it controls us. Which would you rather be the case?  Positive or not, your choice.

I prefer feeling good, positive and powerful. Don’t you? I like knowing I can handle anything that comes my way, somehow, regardless, no matter what, with help or alone. I like finding the best of everything and the best in everything. But, you can stay the same.

Don’t do anything. Someday, perhaps in this lifetime, you will get what you want. Simply stay as you are. That isn’t so bad, unless your situation sucks. Keep in mind, it is your choice. You are always choosing, even when you choose to do nothing. It is your decision.

Your Decision Keeps You The Same – Or It Moves You Forward

Your decision keeps you the same or helps you move forward. If you want to move forward you can. Decide to. Take charge. Manage your thoughts and feelings. Begin by focusing on what you can and what you are grateful for. Gratitude makes an incredible difference. Begin feeling thankful. Adjust your attitude. Things get better when you do. Things get better as you celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

The Difference In Rich And Poor Thinking Makes The Difference!

“The wealthy, tend to grow up with examples of privilege and prosperity, of having and of having more. Many grow up around deal making and accumulation. Their mindset, developed from early on is ‘If I want it, I can have it.’ They think, ‘it is mine, I deserve it.’ So it is.

The rest grow up in differing backgrounds. Some have more, many have little. They grow up with struggle. They learn, ‘work hard and try to get ahead.’ Get a good steady job and maybe you can retire with something  if you work hard enough. You can become self made.

Their mindset is often of poverty and lack. They didn’t have much and often had to limit spending or tighten their belts. They may resent the wealthy as much as the wealthy have disdain for the poor. The rich and the not rich are worlds apart, in mindset and practice.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

Not all rich people are jerks. Not all poor people are lazy. Stereotypes abound. We must get past these. Where the rich have advantage we can learn from. Their mindset is truly one of entitlement. ‘I was born to this so I deserve this. I always get my way.’

When one can think like that and not be selfish or a prick one can make incredible things happen. If one can embody the idea that, ‘I can make things happen and I can get things because of the type of person I am’, one is more inclined to do so. It can be very positive.

Working hard and steady is very positive too. We should take the best attributes from both sides and apply them. Just eliminate the nasty bits. Maintain a positive ‘I can do it’ attitude. ‘I can make it happen. I am worthy. I deserve it.’ And you can.  Mindset matters.

You Become What You Think About Most Of The Time

Be generous too. Be kind and giving. Help yourself out and help others, Privilege sucks, if one thinks one is better than anyone else. That same attitude can exist with the poor, as well. Never imagine yourself as better than another. Simply be the best you, you can be.

I’ll add some thoughts in another blog. Meanwhile, practice gratitude. Be thankful for what little or lot you have. Enjoy yourself, your family and friends, your time, your place, your things. Be grateful for all of it. Delight in all your experiences. Your problems too. When you live with gratitude you can transform all of it. Celebrate everything! Rex Sikes
