What To Do When You Are Feeling Stuck And Down!

“Sometimes we get stuck. It seems out forward progress is delayed or comes to a standstill. We hit a roadblock, obstacle or plateau. This IS a normal part of forward movement. Just as we encounter detours or setbacks when traveling from one location to another.

When this happens keep applying the principles. This is the time many throw in the towel. Don’t. Stop. Recognize that this ‘delay’ is part of the process and continue to apply and adhere to the principles and practices you have been. Keep going. Keep going!

Progress requires diligence, patiences, commitment, persistence and consistency. You get your best results when you keep going, especially in the tougher times. Tough times, just like resistant exercise builds toughness and character. It is for your benefit.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Brought You – Focus On The Good

Sometimes we see the obvious results of our efforts while at other times we do not. It is similar to planting a seed and having to trust it is growing all the time it is invisible underground. Not only do we develop character but we exercise and develop our faith, too.

Nothing is ever wasted! It is all good. Keep the faith. Keep working your program. Continue step by step moving forward. In time, the tough times, the boring times, the times of lack or frustration, the plateau will give way and good things will happen again. Trust!

It is not a straight line to happiness, success or peace. The trail may be fraught with pitfalls. Still, you can do it, and make it, if you believe you can and never give up! Time to put your backbone to work.  Continue to manage your thoughts and feelings. Goodness is here.

You Will Be Where Your Thoughts Take You – Focus On The Good

It is a blessing, and learning, when you keep moving forward with faith, during hard and when results are invisible. You gain more from these times then when it is easy. Continue on. Choose to keep moving forward. Keep making good things happen. See the good. in all of it. Find the blessings. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

A Rut Differs From A Grave Only In Depth

“You are either expanding or contracting. You either experience increase or decrease. A plant is either growing or dying. If you aren’t moving forward, if you are stuck in a rut, then it is not much different than a grave. You are standing still, contracting, dying a slow death.

If, however, you are attempting to better yourself, learn more, enjoy more and live more, you are moving forward by these efforts. The more yourself you devote to improving yourself and your situation the more alive you will feel. The more you can accomplish.

This Is Why You Aren’t Getting What You Want!

“You manifest your thoughts by your conviction. You manifest exactly into your life what you are convinced of. If you’re convinced it’ll be tough, that you experience lack, debt and hardship then so be it. You create, you attract, what you fear. You get what you believe.

Your subconscious mind responds to that which it is programmed to do. Whatever you believe will be the case, will be the case. You manifest what you believe to be true because what you believe are the guidelines you have set, albeit unconsciously, for your life.

In order to get different results don’t work on getting different results. Work on developing different positive, powerful beliefs. As you change your beliefs your experiences begin to change. As your beliefs change you begin to get different results. Understand this!

You Get Out Of It What You Put Into It – Thoughts Become Things

The reason you have stayed stuck is you have tried to change the results. You attempted to work harder, or do something different but all the while you continued to operate from the limiting beliefs that cause the difficulty in the first place. You must change beliefs!

Einstein said the solution to the problem doesn’t exist at the same level the problem was created from. Yet, most people attempt to solve the problems in that very manner. They work on the results. Instead, work on the beliefs and the problems can dissolve.

Stuck means doing the same things over and over. You may be really active but you aren’t productive. Similar to spinning your tires when stuck in the mud or snow. A flurry of activity but it’s not productive. You remain stuck. You can change this and you can transform.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You’re Right

You must first work on mindset. You must change your inner self and the outer will change. You can’t do the same old things again and again and expect your world to be different. You must do different things if you want your life to change. Begin by practicing gratitude.

Begin to look at old things and difficulties in new ways. As you do things will begin to change. It may seem difficult or slow at first but they will change in the same way a seed, when planted, begins to change and grow. See good in all. Consider all a blessing . Be grateful and as your inner self changes your outer world will too. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Wake Up!

“We use questions, statements, assertions, declarations, mantras or affirmations to end the perpetuation of our limitations, or our limited thinking and beliefs, and uncover and utilize resources to direct ourselves in positive and powerful ways.

We use these to increase our awareness and wake up. We need to notice when what we are doing isn’t working and then shift our attention, energy and mindset to that which can and does work. We shift from limitation to resource, from negativity to positivity.

We don’t need more hypnotic trances. We need to awaken from our daily chronic, conditioned trances of limitation and begin to live enlightened to new possible ways of being. The only thing we CAN do is direct the mind inadvertently or with directed purpose.

You Can’t Climb Uphill Thinking Downhill Thoughts

We can only direct it in either positive or negative ways. We are always choosing whether or not we are conscious or choosing. Most people live from past chronic, habitual mindset, feelings, and action habits wondering why they aren’t getting the results of their desires.

Well, if you want your life to change, you must change some things in your life. Change your thinking and YOUR world changes for you. If you do the same thing over and over while expecting different results you are bound to be disappointed. You must change yourself.

You must shift from what limits you, holds you back and keeps you stuck, afraid, worried or depressed to that which positive, powerful, productive and helps you feel confident, enthused and joyful. You must choose to be different and then do what it takes.

Enthusiasm Is The Sunshine That Lights The Way – Delight

Use questions, statements, assertions, declarations, mantras or affirmations to stop being stuck and start thinking, feeling and behaving in powerful new ways. Think, speak and imagine, visualize, only to bless, heal and prosper yourself and others! Get it?

Then you begin to discover a whole new you and a whole new world dawning. Look for the good, not the problems. Look for the positive. Stop the negativity. Find the blessing and opportunities everywhere. Transform yourself. Delight. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

When Will You Stop Stopping Yourself?

“What holds you back from being, doing and having everything you want in life? If there weren’t something you’d already be it, do it and have it, wouldn’t you? So what stops you from living your dreams? Discovering the answer and eliminating that can change everything.

If you haven’t listened to the audio program I shared with you a couple blogs ago, please go and listen to it now.  Here it is again. Listen and learn. Then begin to explore. Feel free to share your thoughts with others and  me in the comment sections.

I asked some questions in the audio blog, from the Virtual Summit and I’d like to go over those with you. These are important questions to consider. If you give actually ask, entertain and reflect on these  they can help you to create the kind of life you want to live more of.

What do you want? Clarify it. Be specific. If you say you don’t know what you want, then what is it you absolutely do not want? Once you know what you don’t want, reverse it. What do you want instead of that? Get to the bottom of what you want. Get clear about it.

What stops you from having it right now? Something must or you would already have it, right? So what is it? Why don’t you have it? Once you know that it is some block or limitation or experience from your past, you can begin to get over it. Be honest with yourself.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

When will you stop, stopping yourself? When will you  move forward on what you want? When will you do this? Will you begin now? Decide. Only you make decisions for your life. No one else and no experience from the past decides for you. You must choose!

YOU decide. So when will you go for it? If you don’t know how or need help, that is why I write this blog. I am here. I can help you but I can’t do it for you. I can be a guide but you have to take the steps. Get clear about what holds you back and where you want to go.

You may not know how to get past the blocks yet,  but decide  you will. You don’t have to know how. You just have to really want to, as a first step. You must also know where you want to end up. That is why I asked you what you want. Get clear in your own mind. Get it?

Our Only True Limitations Exist In Our Thinking 

If everything in your life is okay, keep doing what you are doing if you are living a fabulous, joy-filled life. If not, and life could be better, but it isn’t yet, are you open to some options? If yes, fantastic. If no, you are not, that is okay too. It is always your decision. Which is it?

You can get clear and move forward and begin to make your life more of how you want it. An important step is practicing gratefulness daily. The more grateful and appreciative you are the better life becomes. So take some time each day to count your blessings and really focus on them and how good it feels. Can We Change Reality? Hell, Never Let That Stop You!

“We operate off internal maps of reality, not off reality. A map is a representation of a territory, as such, it cannot be the same as the territory, nor can it include all that which makes up the territory. It is only representation. It ‘re-presents’ something else.

As such, elements or components will be deleted, minimized or distorted.  It isn’t the same as the ‘real thing’. It is a mental, subjective construct, of the outer. We are aware of it through our senses, and from our beliefs, values, memories and such.

Our subjective mental map may, or may not be very accurate at all. Many of us forget we are operating from maps and mistake them as the real deal. This is how a popular phrase came to be. ‘You order the food from a menu. You don’t eat the menu.’ Well, do you?

Eat The Food Not The Menu – The Map Is Not The Territory

The menu is a representation of promised food offerings to come. Get it? So, what holds us back, are our own limitations. What stops us, are inner blocks and fears or worries about the outer, which may or may not even apply, though its reasonable to assume, they could.

It is our perception of reality. If our perception changes is there a difference? If a man, inside a prison cell feels free, then he experiences freedom, while others see him as imprisoned. What is ‘the’ reality?  Whose reality counts? What does ‘reality’ serve to do?

It is a weak analogy, but my point is, never let your thoughts about reality, prevent you from being the best you you can be. What if it were different and the person is actually free, yet imagines himself imprisoned? He feel in prison, yet, others see him as free. Get it?

Limitations Exist Only In The Mind – What You Focus On Expands

Both of these examples occur frequently in life. Some bust through apparent blocks, others are stopped by the invisible fears and worries. What is the truth? My guess is, for the individual, it is whatever they think it is. Free or not. They determine reality.

Get it? Reality is a mental construct we each individually create, and, to an extent, share some overlap. Someone, will ask the obvious ill-formed question, ‘then if I believe I can fly should I jump off a roof?’ No. If your wise, you stand on the ground and attempt to take off.

Everyone will come to their own conclusions. That is how it should be. Each person decides their own truth. Can we make it snow or stop snowing by thinking about it? Personally, I wouldn’t waste my time. Though, it is a matter of what is important to you, not me.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Cant You Are Right

Still,  I wouldn’t let thoughts about an economy, or the world, prevent me from attempting to move forward. Someone once said, ‘the only limitations there are,  exist in one’s own mind.’ Napoleon Hill stated. ‘If you can conceive it, and believe it, you can achieve it.’

Whether you do or not, is completely up to you. Whether, or not, you can first imagine it, believe you can do it, and then attempt it, is up to you.  If those three things are in place, you CAN achieve it, but you have to work at it. Mindset is first. Effort is second. It is up to you.

Those who say it cannot be done, of course, are correct too. For them! They can’t imagine it, don’t believe it, so they won’t attempt to achieve it. That is their reality or their truth. Neither case is ‘the’ truth. It simply is what it is. Limitations exist only in the mind!

If You Can Conceive It And Believe It You Can Achieve It

I like to keep things simple and as straightforward as possible. Henry Ford said, ‘whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.’ . I think that says it all, about everything.  So the question really is a matter of good taste and time. What do you want in life?

Some waste time, trying to do silly things. Yet, we can spend our time well. What gives us the most bang for our buck? Would learning to fly from the ground up without assistance be that, or would learning how to be happy and successful and live the life of your dreams?

Which is more important is where the person will spend their time. If one chooses to fly, so be it. That is their choice at this time on their path, and it’s not really for me to judge. I feel the same with regard to the other proposition. Each person will do, or not, what they do.

You Become What You Think About Most Frequently

So, when it comes down to it, it is personal. The person will decide for themselves, where they are on their journey. While I may have an opinion about how they are spending their time, they won’t be able to hear it, until they are able to hear it. I hope you get this point.

So my opinion doesn’t actually matter. Arguing with them is fruitless, perhaps. When it is right, they will get it. Whenever, that is.  It isn’t for me to judge them either way. I think of it this way. I can invite everyone to a party. Those who come, do so. Those who don’t, don’t.

I don’t need to be concerned with who does what. I made the invitation and the choice is in their hands. It is up to them what they do with it. Same applies to how people use their consciousness to evolve. It’s not up to me, but up to each person. How are you doing?

What You Think See And Say Is What You Get – You Create It

What do you believe? What do you attempt? What do you allow to hold you back? If you could change it, would you? If so, why haven’t you? When will you, if not today? The answer to these is part of that mental map. Thoughts, thought habits, beliefs and what you value.

If you can conceive it, imagine the possibility, and believe you can accomplish it, that it IS possible for you, then you can or could achieve it, if you go after it, relentlessly until you get it. Get it? You make it happen, or you don’t. That is it, in a nutshell, so to speak.

I have found, the most rewarding journey is one that is predominantly based in hope, in optimism and in gratitude for everything. When we live appreciating who we are, all of our experiences, what we have, and the journey, becomes wonderful. We are free to become nearly anything we choose. It is a mindset, an attitude and a heart thing. We feel good and we do more. This is why I say, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What We Can Learn From David Lynch’s Twin Peaks

“I love the show by Mark Frost and David Lynch. Twin Peaks was phenomenal when it burst onto the television screen in the 90’s. Twin Peaks: The Return on Showtime 25 years later is phenomenal. There’s some  important lessons we can learn from this great show.

First, Twin Peaks is not for everyone. The new incarnation is brutal and the topic area, past and present, horrific. It is dark and twisted. Yet, in all of it, good exists and humor. Optimism in the face of terrifying and difficult times, prevail. There is good and evil.

Good may not always appear to win out at first. It may seem smothered at times, but keep the faith. Persist and stay true to the pursuit of the good. Keep your humor. Enjoy simple things. Have some coffee, pie or donuts. Remember, to ‘gift yourself’ says Cooper.

Grow Through What You Go Through

There is much to learn from inside the show. There is much to learn from the show design itself. Not everything is neatly wrapped up or explained for you. In this fashion, ABC’s Twin Peaks broke the mold of current TV in the 90’s and kept fans guessing for 25 years.

There are loose ends and rabbit holes. Lynch and Frost don’t tell you what to think or how to think. They let you figure things out for yourself. Not everything in life has answers you want. You may not like what you hear or receive. No one gives it to you. You seek it out.

What you find is up to you. You determine what you think it is all about. There is no fairy tale ending. There is no bad ending. There is no ending. It is open and you must decide where to go from here. It is all up to you. This story in in your hands. How do you resolve things?

Every Up And Down Provides You Lessons To Make you Strong

David Lynch has often said, as other artists have, that art is not to be explained by the artist but experienced by the experiencer. So what do you make of it? All three seasons of Twin Peaks, and the prequel Fire Walk With Me have been simultaneously loved and hated by fans.

That is art imitating life or life imitating art. Loose ends is all we have. We assign the meaning. Our lives are our stories. Our stories are our life. What do we tell? Do we love it or hate it? How much closure do we need to move on? There is no closure ever. Ever!

We are always in process. Keep seeking and you will find different meanings at different times. Secrets reveal themselves to those who persist. In the end, there may be no secrets. What will you do with that? What if it is all entertainment? What if it is just a ride to go on?

Life Isn’t Meant To Be Figured Out It Is Meant To Be Enjoyed

Perhaps, we never have it neatly wrapped up for us. Are you okay with that? Can you be thrilled with the ride just as it is? Twin Peaks is what it is. We interpret it. It doesn’t change for us, we adapt to it. Life is that way. Make the most of it while you can. Enjoy the ride.

Live in and with mystery. It is an ongoing process. It is eternal. There is nothing to really do except, accept all of it and, be grateful you can. Be glad you are able to have ups and downs. You are here. You are alive. You can be aware. You can live well if you choose. Let go of the need to make it something other than it is and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Do This When You Are Gobsmacked By A Block!

“You’ve encountered a block or an obstacle. You feel yuk. Your feelings, thoughts, and your energy are less than glorious. You want to feel better. What to do? Here’s how you can begin to get free and overcome these challenges. You can move forward. Are you ready?

Keep in mind for manifesting and creating what you want, the goal is to feel the best you can all the time. When you feel good you think clearer. You take action and don’t wallow. Some people don’t believe you can feel good all the time. That is their belief. It is up to you.

You certainly can feel good most of the time. The practical work is to feel as best you are able. If you are down and out, make it your goal to feel a little bit better. All you have to do is feel a bit better. That moves you in the correct direction. Inch by inch you get there.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You’re Right

It is too large a leap to go from down and out to absolutely fantastic. It may be possible, but if you are unable to do it,  don’t get down on yourself. It’s natural to incrementally change your emotional state bit by bit, through time. Just do something to feel a bit better.

Talk a walk, go for a swim, read a book, listen to music, hang with positive friends, work in the garden, exercise, yoga, get a massage, listen to an inspiring audio. Simply do something that helps you feel better! It isn’t the amount of better, it is the direction you move in.

Blocks and dips and dives are there to provide contrast. They are there to learn from, go through, and learn to go through, unscathed. These are opportunities. We have been conditioned to avoid, to run, and attempt to eliminate disappointment and challenges. STOP IT!

Drop By Drop The Tub Fills –  Step By Step You Get There

How you learn to go through these determines how much joy you experience in your life. If anything can upset the apple cart, you will always be victim to circumstances, thoughts and feelings. You will be like a cork bobbing in the water. Going the way the current goes.

When you learn to take charge of yourself, and consider everything an opportunity and a blessing, then no matter what happens you can move forward undeterred. At worst, you make yourself feel a bit better. It’s up to you and no one else. Only you, can change you.

Take control of your thinking. It is much easier once you’ve built the habit of filling your mind daily with positive thoughts. It is easier when you’ve already built the habit of thinking well, feeling good and acting right. That is why we read, affirm, listen, and attend events.

The More We  Do The More We Are Able To Do – Take An Action

Condition yourself now. Begin. The going may be slow at first to over come the inertia of the habit of being stuck, but you will do it as you stick with it. Then it gets easier and easier. You may not be able to lift 50 lbs but through exercise, eventually you will be able to, and more.

Get it? That is how we do it. You may have heard this before and this is why. It works! This is how you will do it. Become aware. Take charge of your thinking and feeling. Notice when you feel yuk. Embrace the opportunity to change. You got a signal to change.

Be glad you noticed! Take action! Be glad you took a step! Persist. Be grateful and things will change. Feel the best you are able. Keep going. Inch by inch. Fill your mind. Surround yourself with happy, successful people you can learn from. Do something positive. Help someone else. Smile more. All will be good. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What To Do When You Get Gobsmacked By A Block

“You feel stuck. Something holds you back. You aren’t enjoying or achieving the happiness and success in your career or life. Frankly, it sucks! You’d like to change it. Here is what you can do when you hit a block in your personal or professional life. Here is what you must do.

While blocks aren’t fun nor enjoyable, they can be downright awful, be glad you hit a block. ‘What?’ you exclaim. ‘I should be happy I encountered a block? ‘ Yes, exactly. We all have them. We all encounter them. Many were fashioned early in our lives.

They were created or adopted outside of our awareness. We didn’t choose them but we got them through exposure, experience and repeated messages, intentional or otherwise, from others around us. We have them and they lurk inside. We encounter them in change.

Don’t Let Obstacles Bring You Down Learn To Bounce Back Better

When we change, or situations change, they arise. They are limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and feelings. They are doubts, fears, worries, anger and sadness. They arise to keep us the same. We repeat them again and again in life, so we remain consistent.

Seems silly, but it is true. Our brain attempts to protect us and keep us alive in a number of ways. One of them is by attempting to keep us the same. It doesn’t know we want to update ourselves and change and that we will be fine. Blocks are there to keep us safe. BUT, yuk!

So the best we can do is appreciate them and embrace them. Allow them to surface. They will anyway, but don’t fight them. Fighting them only amplifies their yuk factor. What we resist, persists. When we feel blocked, this is what you need to do, and here is why.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You’re Right

When you discover or encounter a block you have an opportunity to discover how to refocus your attention and energy and move forward. It is not really a problem, but a blessing. It is attempting to keep you safe in the first place. Your brain does what it learned to do.

It is reliable. That is why it will keep you overeating, feeling afraid, smoking or living out any number of ‘bad’ habits because that is what it learned to do. So it does it! It ‘thinks’ that is how things should be. You and I need to re-educate our brains to new things.

Some people have yet to learn this concept but anyone can eventually learn it. Given they hit enough blocks to begin to become aware of why they are there. Blocks get our attention. Instead of thinking something is wrong celebrate! You noticed the signal,

Don’t Give Up – Make Today The Best Day Of Your Life Anyway

A block is an opportunity for you to pay attention. It is a signal or a message. Once you notice the block AND actually get the message, you can change it. You may not have thought so in the past. You have lived with any number of them for a long while. There is good news!

The good news is you can learn to move through them. You can learn to recognize them for what they are, not succumb to them, but move beyond them into new, wonderful realms of being!
