Don’t Get Sucked In Or Distracted By Nefarious Forces

“Something very important to notice. Bad news is rare. That is why it is reported. It is the exception to the good that goes on. Bad news sells. People buy it. Bad news sells for this reason. People love gossip and road kill. It is a rating game. Still, bad news is rare!

Bad news is the manipulation of your mind whether intentional or not. If you think bad news is real then you have been drinking the sugary flavored drink. Good news abounds but no one reports the good news because it is common. It doesn’t sell. Bad news does.

There is a volcano. It makes the news. WHY? Because  it doesn’t happen all the time. It is rare by comparison. Get it? The less something happens the higher the signal value. So media looks for all the bad news it can find because it means ratings and more profits.

The Mind Is As Strong As Its Weakest Think – Learn To Think Well

That is the business they are in. Selling bad news. Actually, selling commercial products. How can you tell you’ve been brainwashed? You buy all the bad news and the breath, hair, body products, designer logo clothing and goods. People are walking billboards.

People are walking commercials for corporations and the news media. We wear it and we share it. We gossip about it and brag about it. Still, all the bad news pushed on us pales by all the unreported good news! Still, we’re influenced and feel bad.

We watch or read the news and then think everything is bad.  Advertising convinces us we are stinky, foul, flakey, humans in need of more products to eliminate our ‘humaness’ so we buy the ‘right’ clothing and advertise their brands for them as walking billboards!

Learn To Vet And Verify – Seek Accurate Information – End Gossip

News influences us to be worried, angry, intolerant and scared. We give in. Because news and advertising is relentless in all forms of media, music, movies, TV, cable, streaming, books, magazines, online social media, clothing, food products we succumb to its influence.

We can’t escape it.  It is repeated endlessly 24/7. There is no escape from it any more than there is escape from all the microwaves and radio waves and gamma waves in the atmosphere. We are in it. We can limit it but can’t shut it out. The onslaught surrounds us.

We are influenced by the pessimistic thoughts and speech of others. Family, friends, strangers all influence us. We get caught up. We must realize it is not as it appears. The picture being painted is for profit and power. We willingly buy into it. We give our minds away.

We’re Surrounded By Forces That Attempt To Disable Us – Notice

We buy into it because we have grown up in it. As a fish doesn’t notice the water, we don’t notice the propaganda. We do live in an Orwellian world. We are facing some difficult times in the U.S. and around the globe. We must become aware of the influence on us.

If we don’t become aware of our own past conditioning, and the ongoing inculcation, we will be the worse off. We need to wake up. Some will and some never will. Some will believe, no matter what, the lies being told. It’s easier to convince a stump than some people.

They’ll believe the advertising, the news, the political agendas. Some will tune out and become apathetic because of the onslaught. Since, we are overwhelmed continuously we need to claim our minds back. Then we won’t be as susceptible as we’ve been. We may wake up.

Become Aware – Your Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes

Because of the chaos, confusion and distraction from what we could and should, be paying attention to some will tune out, give up and do nothing. They will become apathetic. They’ll refuse to notice. They are unaware of the consequence. They’ll miss and lose out.

Then, only those who believe the news will act. They’ll support choices that go against their own interests because they’re being conditioned to do so every minute of the day. Make sure you don’t go numb from this all mind-numbing. Claim your mind back!

Become conscious. Stay alert. Be aware. It may seem we are all going to hell in a handbasket. It may seem as if nothing good happens. Still, more good still happens than bad. Good can and will still prevail if we commit to making it so. Transform yourself. Love yourself.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You – Be Aware

Love others. Help others. We all need to row in the same direction, together at the same time, to get ahead. We don’t win by not playing or by hurting the other team. Rise to a higher standard. Live from that standard. Be alert. Work to remain free in mind, body and spirit.

Stop buying into bad news and advertising! Recognize that there are changes that need to be made and help make them! Help make the world better. Don’t give up. Keep the faith. Remain optimistic in the face of opposition. Seek the truth. Look for accurate information.

Vet your sources. Pay attention to all the good, the blessings, the kind acts, the people who help each other. Pay attention to the loving, the generous, the kind and the peaceful. Be accepting. Never give up your freedom to think and choose for yourself. Become whatever you want to be, do or have. Make good happen! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Are You Ruled By Mythic Thinking?

“Positive thinking and optimistic thinking does not necessitate that it ever become unrealistic. That is mythic thinking. That is a great misunderstanding about positive thinking. Positive thinking does not mean turning a blind eye to problems. It has never meant that!

Blind thinking, as some have said, is to imagine ‘there are no weeds, there are no weeds’ when there are weeds. That is not positive thinking. That is ignoring the weeds.  Positive thinking is ‘I can weed the garden. I can learn to weed. I can make it beautiful.’ Get it?

One can ask, ‘what needs to be done to make this the best garden? I can take care of this’. Thought precedes action so the appropriate follow up to ‘I can weed the garden’, is to then weed the garden. Many people misunderstand what it means to think positively.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Correct

Many misconceptions abound.  Positive thinking is most useful in creating what one wants. You can create and design your plans. You aim at the target so you can hit it. It can even include knowing what you don’t want to clarify what you do want. YUP! It does indeed

You can’t build a building knowing only what you don’t want in it. You have to know what you do want! An architect draws very specific plans! Looking at the plans one might decide the closet should be located elsewhere. You know what you don’t want.

Then, switch focus from ‘what is wrong,’ to the ‘right’ you intend to pursue and create. Example aside, positive thinking is incredibly useful in righting wrongs; the ‘wrongs’ in your personal life and in society. Stop tearing down, but recognize what you won’t tolerate.

Then make a plan to create what you want instead. What you resists persist, but you can overcome the problem. You can even overcome the solution to the problem to make things better than you could otherwise previously imagine. Get it? It’s important. Do you?

The More You Do The More You Become Capable Of Doing

What do I mean by overcome the solution? Sometimes, the obvious solution isn’t  the wisest or the most efficacious. Sometimes, the very solution one is attempting to utilize IS the problem or exacerbates the issue. This can be overcome by better thinking.

Positive thinking means you don’t let the negative thinking get you down or derail you from useful, well constructed plans or goals. It means you put your best ‘mindset’ on, manage your thoughts, and put your best foot forward. You function realistically and optimally.

In spite of odds, you continue to prevail. You persist and see it through. You adjust as necessary along the way. Use positive thinking! If you don’t know how, or if you struggle to, you can learn and train yourself to think more positively. You can make positive thinking  a reliable habit. You Pay The High Cost Of Not Changing!

“You pay a price whenever you focus on your problems and negativity. If you are consumed by lack, debt, issues with family or friends, job stress, or worse, you pay a price. Your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health suffer. You close off and shut down.

You limit possibilities. Your body remains primarily in fight or flight or freeze. The price you pay takes a huge toll. Years existing like this are debilitating, unhappy, un-successful (even if you have monetary success) and have become your habits of thought and action.

You must change what you are thinking, feeling and doing if you want to change your life. ‘As a person thinks in the heart so the person is.’ That is a paraphrase obviously, but the meaning remains the same. What you think and declare to be true is true. Get it?

Sill Comes Of Doing – The More We Do The More We Can Do

What you focus on you get more of. So, when life throws you curve balls, it doesn’t mean ignore what is, or isn’t, going on.  It means its an opportunity to let go of the problems and stresses. Stay focused on what  you want yourself, and your life, to be. Stay positively focused.

Remain true to your purpose, goal and dreams.  Declare it and ‘act as if’ it is the way you want it, regardless of what is presently going on. This may be tricky yes, but completely possible. You must discover a way to relax your grip on how things are. Let them go and shift focus.

Drop into the present. If you have to judge things as anything, judge them as learning experiences. Judge life circumstances and problem people as opportunities and blessings. Let go of the negativity. Find the good. Do this with everything, repeatedly and continually.

You Go Where Your Thoughts Take You – Manage Your Thoughts

As you do, and as you become grateful for them, things will change. You will change. There are two ways of handling difficulties, attempt to alter the difficulty or alter yourself. You CAN control what you do. You can let go and trust. You can be grateful. You can’t control circumstances but you can transform yourself, and in doing so, transform them. So celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Use Negative Energy To Your Advantage

“Isn’t it true the more circumstances are difficult the more you want to get past them. The feelings grow stronger.  You want to get be rid of or beyond them. The desire to live happily and fully increases. The more difficult it gets the more you want the opposite.

When you have had enough you will change it. If you don’t buckle or give in you will triumph. When backed against the wall is when people find their backbone. Prior to the last resort they waffle and wallow and allow the bad to increase. It is like a water dam.

All that water backs up beyond the wall. There is tremendous energy their.  The weight of the water is great. It is dammed up. When appropriately released water from the dam is used to generate electricity. The direct the flow to make good things happen.

Choose Which Side Of The Fence You Want To Be On – Decide

When circumstances suck you need to stop focusing on the circumstances as negative and understand you have an opportunity to gather your resources. You have an opportunity to gather your energy. You now know precisely what you do not wan.t

It is time to define and clarify precisely what you do want and channel your energies into that. Put your attention on what you want and utilize the gathered momentum from the circumstances to propel you forward. Think, ‘never again!’ Not this BUT THIS!

Put your attention into what you want to create and use the energy you amassed to move away from the negative. Move into the positive. Direct the flow. Put it to work for you creating more positive energy. Stop being a victim and be the victor.

If You Really Want Something Badly Enough You’ll Find A Way

Declare victory. Say enough already. Stop being negative and move into the positive. Never let the negative grab hold of you, instead use it to propel you from it into positive accomplishment. Some people get sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Some won’t tolerate poverty so they create wealth. They refuse to live the way they were and they create new circumstances the prefer. You can too. This is your power. You have power to choose how you want to live. You have power to create your future. Decide to live the life you want. Create your best life ever. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Are You A Faux Optimist?

“Some people think, ‘I can’t’ but who think they are, or may appear to be optimists, but they are not. They say nice things, but think mostly negative thoughts. A true optimist thinks ‘can do’ and handles any challenge. They see possibility, opportunity, success.

They don’t notice or pay attenton to negativity because they ARE an optimist. Remember, they see the glass half full. They think, ‘I can’. The negative person, pretend optimist, sees the glass half empty, not full, and worries this will disrupt their happiness. They worry a lot.

They are afraid, something will spoil their happiness. Their negativity does hamper their happiness. True happiness, or bliss or peace, transcends worry and fear. It only sees what is possible and what is good. It is not afraid of what is bad or what can’t be done. 

Optimism Is The Faith That Leads To Accomplishment

It notices it and then looks back toward the positive to what can be done and what is good and what is the potential for changing it. Then they do something positive. They don’t retreat or fear or segregate. Their awareness is recognizing when a change needs to take place.

From that awareness they then find solutions. They do not let the need for change cause discomfort. After all, they are true optimists. The look for and find the good in all. So, the true optimist isn’t bothered by anyone or anything. The live free from fear.

If one fears the negative, their actual focus is on the negative. If they doubt, worry or fear, that is where their attention it. That is where their energy goes. That is what they create and attract. Stop focusing on the negative. The optimist already knows this.

Pessimism Leads To Weakness Optimism Leads To Power

It is really quite simple when it comes down to it. You are what you eat. You are what you fill yourself with. You are where you spend your time. You are what you embrace. You are what you focus on. Therefore, focus on the good, the joyful. the fun, gratitude, positivity, peace, love, kindness and abundance. Stop focusing on anything less. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What To Do About Your Worst Fears

“Sometimes things turn sour and we handle it okay. Other times we go to extreme negative thinking. We think the worst case scenario over and over. We let it affect us and we spiral down. It is normal and natural for us to think this way. Most of us were conditioned to.

What we frequently find is after a day or two, weeks or longer what we feared most did not come to pass. The worst fears we lived over and over didn’t manifest as we expected. We feel relieved. We dodged a big one and we resume our lives. Whew! But then what?

It happens again another time. Over the same subject or another one. TWe repeat the worst case scenario lifestyle for awhile. We go dark. Again, it resolves. Usually, our worst fears NEVER come to pass. That’s the funny thing about it. Our fears don’t come about!

Don’t Let Fear About What Could Happen Make Nothing Happen

What we  did is get worked up, fearful, angry, depressed and worse. We spiraled into negativity, for a time being, only to discover things worked out better than we thought they would. Did we learn our lesson and decide never to do this in the future? Nope. Sadly, nope!

To enjoy enduring success, so the saying goes, one must travel a little in advance of the world. This means get out ahead of it. We can do that if we learn from our ‘worst fears’ example. Since our worst fears almost never, very rarely, ever come about, stop thinking they will!

Use your mind and energy differently! Stop repeating failure. Stop repeating negative thinking and begin to shift away from the worst case scenarios. Begin to think ‘things always work out’. ‘I don’t know how this will but I know it will work out for the best’. Get it? Do it!

There Is No Greater Illusion Than Fear – It’s Only A State Of Mind

Think and behave differently. Learn from your mistakes and move forward. If you don’t you are doomed to repeat. Stop it. Start doing something productive instead. Don’t just be relieved. Learn to live and respond differently to life, when it throws you a curve ball.

Enjoy life more. Stress out less. Learn to think positive instead of going to dark negative places. Shift away from your fears. Live with courage. Live lighthearted and carefree. Begin to express gratitude and delight. Be thankful for all. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Law Of The Mind

“People of a successful mindset help success come to themselves. They make it happen. They think it into being. Whatever we think in our minds must grow. Whether those are positive or negative thoughts, good or bad, whatever we think must grow. Notice this.

Become aware. Whatever you predominantly think most of the time is what you help bring about. Whether good or bad it is the same energy, the same focus, just two sides of a coin. This is good news. If you are thinking negative you use the same energy to think positive.

You can as easily create success as you can failure. You can create wealth as easily as you create poverty. It is all in what you think about most often. Do you focus on your problems and circumstances or on your goals and dreams? Which do you spend more time on?

You Become What You Think About Most Often

Taking charge of your thinking means learning to direct your thinking in productive ways towards what you want to increase or have more of. Spend your time thinking these things. What you think about you can bring about. Make it happen. Create it and it shall be.

Whatever you feed and nurture you help sustain and grow. If you focus on negativity and lack you create more of the same. It is a choice. Determine where and into what you want to put your attention, energy and focus. Choose which will win out for you.

Farmers weed their garden, so the weeds don’t overtake it. We too must remove the negative influences from our mind and nurture and encourage the positive.  ‘As a man thinketh in his heart so is he’ states Proverbs. Your success depends on your  thinking. Get it?

Whatever You Focus On Expands – You Get What You Focus On

Pay attention to what you focus on and what you believe. Become aware when your thoughts are not positive and eliminate the negative and accentuate the positive. Deliberately shift. Focus on gratitude and well-being. Concentrate on thankfulness and appreciation. Delight and enjoy. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Good News: Affirmations Work! Bad News: You Don’t Know What You Are Doing!

I addressed the reason some people have difficulty working with affirmations over thirty years ago in an article ‘ Why Affirmations Don’t Work’. I share these principles in my works, Directed Questions™, the Attitude Activator™ and Mind Design™ training.

I had the very same problem most people do. I was getting much of what I don’t want and not very much of what I did want. I would make declarative statements and then feel like I was lying.  I’d engage in a big inner fight with myself.I struggled for years.

Then I had a major crisis in my life. As a result I locked myself in my apartment and didn’t leave for six weeks, while I sat in a chair, reciting affirmations. It was during this time I discovered the key to making affirmations work for me. They can work for you, too!

You Get What You Think About Most Frequently 

Here’s an important principle you must understand. We are always, already, getting whatever we affirm, though some people mostly manifest crap. That is because they affirm and discuss crap most of the time. Don’t think of affirmations as something positive.

Think of affirmations as something you do. An affirmation is a declaration. You can declare positively or negatively! Most people are expert at negative affirmations. They declare, and repeatedly declare, or affirm, what they don’t want, or would prefer to exclude.

So, that is what they keep ending up with! You must understand this. Whatever you give your attention to, YOU are focused on AND, you are affirming. Your attention is energy and you are either pouring energy into the positive or you are pouring it into the negative.

You And Your Results Are Your Mindset – Attitude Matters

Most people, most of the time, are pouring their energy into the negative. They talk, share and discuss their problems. They get caught up in gossip, negative and bad news in their daily life and in the media. It consumes most of their daily thinking times.

If they aren’t negative they are distracted, watching mindless TV or reality shows, playing electronic games or more. Little time is spent energizing and attending to what they want to make happen other that to hope and wish things would somehow change.

Wishing and hoping won’t help! So little time is spent on the positive. So much time is on negative. It is little wonder why people’s lives often suck. The reason people don’t make it work right for themselves is because they focus on the positive in fleeting ways.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Can’t You Are Right

Then spend the most all of their moments on the negative. Their focus and energy is negative. They’re out of balance. Your thinking preponderance has to shift from the negative to the positive. You get back what you spend most of your time doing! You must get this.

You have to understand that your circumstance and results come from how you think, believe and perceive things. In order to get better results and positive circumstances you have to change what you have been doing. You have been affirming the problems!

Stop and shift. Change your focus. It does require that you take charge and be willing to do what it takes to gain control over your own thought process and your life. It is simple. It is not always easy at first, but it gets easier but you must start if you want to change.

Stop The Pity Parties And Thrive!

“You help no one when you join a pity party. It isn’t life affirming to join in or sympathize with personal hurt, money problems or obstacles . You need not be calloused but remember, you get what you focus on. Don’t enable yourself or others in feeling negative.

Don’t commiserate with misery but don’t be a cheerleader for the positive either. Don’t demand others think as you do. Just don’t participate. Let it go. You don’t help anyone by supporting their negativity or down turned times. Keep the faith. It will work out.

Love and unconditionally accept them without sympathy. Allowing someone room to be oneself is more respectful. You might gently encourage but don’t push. Don’t get hooked into it either. It is natural to want to help. Help by remaining positive. It will work out.

A Mind Stretched To A New Idea Can Never Go Back …

You don’t help anyone if you start a pity party either. Remember, speak only to bless, heal, prosper, inspire and motivate. Talk about how you want things to be instead of how they are. You don’t help anyone reliving problems and repeatedly telling those stories.

Remember, the goal is to feel your best. When you feel your best and better, all else works together. Don’t focus on results, focus on feeling good. Then whether or not the results are there, you feel good. When you feel good, you are more apt to get the results.

Just don’t focus on whether or not you are getting the results. Be grateful for all. Feel good. Vibe high! The higher you vibe the more you are able to enjoy life as it is. The higher you vibe the more you are able to create, and make happen, what you intend to. Get it?

Consider Everything A Blessing And Everything Will Be A Blessing

Feel good. Stop attending to that which you prefer to eliminate and focus on feeling your very best. Celebrate life. Fill your heart and mind with gratitude, appreciation and all good, positive thoughts. Then you will live positively and powerfully.  Transform yourself!

Delight. Be thankful. Accept all because anything that comes to us in life is a gift, even when it does not seem like one. It takes learning this to accept this. You may or may not there yet. You will be when you live gratefully for all, feel your best and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You Can Only Think One Thought At A Time!

According to research we can only think one thought at a time. One thought at a time! Get it? So if you are thinking a positive, happy, good thought you CANNOT think a negative, less than glorious, bad thought at the same time. It is impossible! Get that? It’s important!

If you want to be happy all the time, then think happy thoughts all the time. Choose what you think about! Our thoughts regulate our brain chemistry. Think a negative thought and you are more likely to think another negative thought and feel negative. It works this way.

HOWEVER, think a positive thought and you are more likely to think another positive thought and feel positive! Our brain can’t tell the difference between the outer world and what we are thinking in our head. It accepts both as the same. Get it? It responds the same way!

You Become What You Think About Most Often

This is why we physiologically respond to a real fear or an imagined one. That is why mental imagery and suggestion can sexually arouse us in the absence of any real world stimuli. It all happens in our head and body. Get it? We get what we focus on. It literally expands!

Put your attention, lock your focus, on the glorious, the good, the positive, the happy and you inner mechanism will electro-chemically respond by enhancing your levels of dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin, which causes us feelings of well-being. It works this way!

Our internal electro-chemistry creates our feelings of satisfaction, contentment and/or happiness. Think happy and you will feel happy! As you feel happy you will think happy! It is a positive feedback loop. BUT think negative and you can go into a negative feedback loop.

Thoughts Lead To Feelings Lead To Behaviors Lead To Results

To stop the negative you need to stop! Take a break! Use your body, breath, smile, laugh, do anything else! Shift your attention to a happy thought. Remember, you can only think one thought at a time! SO change it from less than glorious to glorious. Get it? DO IT! It works!

Then choose another happy thought. Lock your concentration on the positive. Energy flows where your attention goes. AS you continue to pay attention to happy thoughts you feel happy and it gets easier and easy. Keep doing it and make it a habit! Get it?

You create the momentum. Whenever you are not feeling good, interrupt it, stop and shift! Then put, and keep, your attention on the positive. The more you do it the easier it gets to do it. Soon, if you keep at it, you will develop a positive supportive habit that you can keep for the rest of your life! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
