What You Need To Know And Do In Order To Succeed!

“What you need to know and do in order to succeed. If you don’t do these things you leave things to chance. Right mindset and right action are the ingredients successful people use to get ahead. You can too! Do you want to make your future come true, or don’t you?

You must define what you want. Get really clear about it. Be really honest and clear about what you want. Get clear about what do you think it will bring you, and how your life will be different, if you do what you intend to do.  Clarify, clarify, clarify. Know these things!

You can make a list of the ‘pros and cons’, a  list of the upside, benefits and the downside of doing what you want to do. This will help you clarify and get clear about why you want it, and whether or not it is worth it to you. If it isn’t absolutely worth it, you won’t do it.

You Don’t Become A Black Belt By Dabbling In The Martial Arts

Again,  what is the reason why you want to do it? What will it bring you? How will you ultimately feel when you have it? You must realize this: if you want it YOU have to make it happen! You’ll work with others to do that ,but it’s not gonna land in your lap.

You’re going to work it. You’re gonna have to persist until you have it. You make it happen. No one ever succeeds alone you co-operate and work with others. Support them and allow them to support you. Create healthy, positive, harmonious alliances. Be positive and do it!

To succeed means you must not quit until you get it. So, you have to make sure it’s worth it to you to put in the time, the money, and the energy in the effort! You have to manage your mindset. Be  and stay optimistic, expect the best, and expect to make it happen.

Commitment – Certainty – MindSet – Persistence – Right Action 

Become certain that no matter what comes your way you’ll be able to handle it, or find a way to handle it, to get through it to make your dreams come true. Less than this and it is not likely you will succeed. Attitude and Right Action gives you the edge you need.

You create it. You make it happen.  You know why you work at it and continue to work it until you get what you want.  I can’t stress knowing this, enough! If you give up by giving in to the downside or negativity you won’t have it. Failure is feedback. Grow from it.

If you keep going and you cooperate with others, you support them and allow them to support you, you can do it no matter what life throws your way. Those most successful KNOW they are going to be successful. They feel successful even before they succeed at making their desires come true! You can do this if you are willing to! You can do this! Are You Able To Answer These Questions?

Ok, I admit it. I tricked you. Want to know how? I will be happy to share in a moment. First, did you write down your answers to the questions I posed the other day and today? This is the important part; to answer the questions honestly for yourself.

Whether or not you sent them to me, the point was for you to write them down. First, ask yourself and get clear about your answers. Think about it. Reflect, and honestly answer. It’s usually best to go with your first inclination. Second, write them down. It helps!

It helps because you take the time to write them, thereby continuing to think and clarify. It also helps you create what you want because you  now have taken action to declare them in your words and writing. The written answers become real, not just thoughts.

If You Don’t Write It Down You Have A Wish But Not A Goal

Journaling is an important part of manifesting. Writing down what you want to create and attract is a big step in making the reality you want come true. It is an important first step. Declare it to be so. Clearly, know what you want, declare it and put it in writing.

Blueprints are plans. Business plans are written. Written goals get realized faster than wishing and hoping.  So yes, I tricked you into writing things down. If you sent them in, you give me feedback how to better help meet your wants and needs and serve you.

I hope you did. I hope you will! If you haven’t here they are again!

  1. What are your top 3 desires? What is it you want? What are you wanting to accomplish? Answer as clearly as possible. e.g. I want a new car. I want to learn to juggle. I want new job. etc.

2. What are your top 3 reasons why each of these is important to      you What will getting your desire do for you? What will you gain by attaining it?

3. What are your top 3 challenges or obstacles? If related to your top desires what is preventing you from having what you want?

4. What are the top 3 reasons why each of these obstacles prevents you? How does each limit you?

5. What do you love? What do you stand for?

6. What do you hate and stand against?

7. What do you feel you need to know, understand and apply in order to transform your challenges into opportunities?

8. What do you feel you need to know, understand and apply in order to transform you career, family life, relationships, life? Answer in each area or whichever is most important to you?

Do You Know The 3 Power Questions For Clarity And Goal Getting?

“Questions divide the world and help you to focus. You can direct your mind to what you want it to search for and find by using a question. Hopefully, you did the exercise from yesterday. If not, stop now, and read or re-read the previous post. Then continue on.

First question, did you answer what you wanted or didn’t want? Did you say ‘I want to be rich’ or ‘I don’t want to be broke’? It matters. Which words do you focus on in each question? Either rich or broke, right? If you are focused on broke you ‘ain’t gonna git rich!’ Git it?

Knowing what you don’t want is important to help you clarify what you do want. You focus must be on what you do want. If you said, ‘I don’t want to be broke’. Then the next step is Okay, what do you want? If you can’t answer that is a problem.

Learn To Ask Yourself Better Questions 

If you come back with another, ‘I don’t want so many bills’ then you are still focused on what you don’t want. OKAY then write out all the ‘I DON’T WANTS and get them out of your system. Then with each shift your attention to your wants.

I don’t want to be broke – may become – I want to be rich. I don’t want bills – may become – I want all my bills paid for easily. I don’t want to be fat – may become – I want to be my ideal weight. I don’t want a smoker – may become – I want someone health conscious.

Get it? What you focus on is what you get. If you have been primarily focused on what you don’t want that is what you will keep getting, creating or attracting. We become what we think about most often. What do you put your time, energy and attention into most often?

Questions Direct The Mind

The second question is why do you want it? Answering this will clarify what is important to you. It will shed light on the needs behind your goals and dreams. You may discover there are other productive ways to get what you want more easily and readily.

Sometimes these needs and wants are called our values. We want to feel important or significant. We want freedom or fun. We want to be relaxed or at ease or feel peace. We want to feel accomplished or creative. These are drivers behind the goal we are trying to fulfill.

We may fulfill these through what we want or in discovering other positive ways. YOU may find your wants changing during this process of self discovery. That is absolutely okay. Get clear about what you want, what is important to you and what stops you.

Stop Asking Why You Are Stupid Or Unlucky Or Broke

The third is WHY DON”T YOU HAVE IT? Your answer is the story, the reason, the excuse, the blames for why you aren’t making what you want happen. It is okay, we all have them. Just consider it. Why don’t you have what you want right now?

This answer, this story, this reason, this excuse is the WHY you don’t have it that you tell yourself over again and again. Your time, energy and attention is going into why it doesn’t happen or what is preventing and stopping you. Do you understand this? It is all focus!

You put more credence on the reasons why you don’t have it than you put energy into making it happen. Consider that. STOP! For goodness sake. STOP and actually consider this, Energy flows where your focus goes.

Learn To Ask Yourself Better Questions 

If you think, ‘I am broke because … You ain’t gonna get rich thinking broke and why you are. You aren’t going to create, attract and make happen what you want if your concentrated attention is on why you don’t have it. You are reinforcing not having and not getting it.

If you want to get it you will have to change your story. You must do things differently! You have to come up with all the reasons WHY you CAN HAVE IT – right NOW! You should write out a new story that reflects what you want to have. Be detailed and take your time.

What you say is what you get. What you say is based on your mental images and feelings. When you think to yourself or tell others the same story you perpetuate it. You keep it active. If you aren’t getting what you want, yet, then you must withdraw your energy.

You Get What You Focus On – You Become What You Think About

You must change what you talk about.Construct the story you want to live out. You are the author of your life, write the pages and chapters to be what you want. Remember, what you say is what you get. Choose and use your words wisely. Focus on what you want.

Focus on the good things in your life. Put your energy into what is good and what is right. Focus on solutions and on being  champion and victor. Focus on using your resourcefulness to make changes within yourself that result in changes in your outer world.

If you did these exercises honestly and thoroughly you will have gotten some valuable information for yourself to put into practice. If you blame others and make them responsible you have missed the point. If you blame others that is your excuse and gets you nowhere.

Ask Questions That Direct Your Mind In Useful Positive Ways

Each of us has to take responsibility for making our life the good life we want. Blaming others and circumstances is not the solution to getting what you want. Taking responsibility taking positive, inspired action steps that benefit you and everyone else will help you.

Blaming excuses you from getting your dreams by putting the responsibility on others or circumstances but doesn’t get you closer. Determining what you must think, feel and do will. Developing the habits that get you where you want to go will. Results begin within.

The results you get are directly tied to your thinking. So change your thinking. Change your story. Keep this in mind. You get what you focus on. You become what you think about. Once you know what you want and why you don’t have it put your attention elsewhere.

Get Clear About What You Want And Why You Want It

Put your attention on why you do have it! Imagine yourself to be the kind of positive person who does have it. What are you like? What do you think and feel and do? What does it feel like to be living the dream? Imagine all the good things.

During this process you may have discovered many beneficial things. Some may sting, some may be freeing. I encourage you to visit this again and again in coming weeks and months. Some people do it all their lives. It can be a valuable process to do on your wants.

Meanwhile, find ways to be thankful and appreciative for your new awarenesses. Be grateful for whatever you have come to understand. Learn from it. If you got better insight into these areas be happy. Learn from it. Extract the lessons. Apply the information.

To Know And Not To Do – Is To Not Know – Take Action

Apply the information to make your life and those lives around you a little easier and better. Enjoy this adventure and all of your journey. When you do you are truly blessed because you recognize each step and each obstacle IS a blessing. WOW! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

3 Power Questions To Get You What You Don’t Yet Have

“You could be living your goals and dreams right now! You do have dreams and goals, right? Perhaps, you want that perfect career or job.  Maybe you want to be rich and famous. You want the ‘right’ relationship with a partner or with your family.

You want a lifestyle that allows you to do what you want when you want it. Right? What do you want? Specify it. Elaborate. Be detailed. What are you focused on? Describe your desire. Write it down. Take your time. What do you want?  This is the first question.

STOP! Don’t read on until you answer the question.

Okay, if you did what is asked of you, proceed. Many people gloss over actually doing anything. They think if they just have the right information and know enough it will change them. It won’t. Applying the information is how you change. You must do in order to know.

Why do you want it? Variations on this question are – what will having it do for you or allow you to feel and do? Why is it important to you? Why must you have that? If you say it makes me feel good then ask why do you want to feel good? What does that do for you?

Keep asking the question. Be diligent. Specific. Elaborate. Take your time. STOP and answer thoroughly. What will being rich do for you? Why is being rich important? Ask until you can get no further. Push yourself through to discover the important WHY behind your want.

STOP! Don’t read on until you answer the question.

Why don’t you have it? WHY do YOU NOT have your DREAMS right now? Why don’t you have it yet? You know what you want but you don’t have it? Write down why not. Be specific. Elaborate. Be detailed. Take your time. DO IT! Don’t read on until you do.

I MEAN STOP! Don’t read on until you answer the question.

I know some of you blew past anyway.

Three simple, yet, powerful questions. If you genuinely ask these of yourself it will reveal much and you will learn a lot. Specify what you want. Discover why you must have it, how it is important to you. Then answer, why you don’t have it, yet. Your answers are important.

This IS a process of self discovery. Important things can come up for you and shed light on what is going on. You can discover much that is illuminating and helpful for moving forward. It can refresh you as each new day can if you allow it to. Increase your awareness. Enjoy.

Sit with your answers. Think about them. Go back over each and be absolutely diligent and honest. Next blog post I’ll share more on this process and what these questions and answers can do for you. In the meantime, reflect, learn, appreciate yourself and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Strategies For Success: Take These 6 Positive Steps To Overcome Disappointment And Get Your Goals!

“Want to make your career, relationship and life goals come true? Would you like to transform yourself into the person you always knew you could be? Do you want to set goals and take steps to get what you want in life? If yes, then do these things.

I have a number of large consulting and training projects. I am working with corporations, some large and some small businesses. One is a large psychological services facility, another is  consulting for the CEO and the Board Of Directors for a urban building project.

I am working with these as team members and individuals.  Our goal is to develop  an unstoppable success attitude or mindset and leadership abilities. To do this it is important to clarify the purpose of the project leader and the various team members.

What You See And Say And Feel Is What You Get

I help them learn and set Well Formed Outcomes (WFO) to create a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly action plan for moving toward their target purpose while accomplishing numerous smaller goals along the way. It is important to get to the big ones step by step.

All the goals should be in service of the overall purpose, otherwise they can be obstacles and distractions. As my clients work on accomplishing their large goals they achieve the smaller ones that move them forward in the right direction.

They also set individual and personal outcomes too. One of the tools in my tool belt come from Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). I have been training and teaching NLP (among other things since early 80’s) I shared with them the conditions for WFO.

Stay Positive

We’ll explore WFO in this blog post and subsequent ones. WFO have a set of conditions you must meet in order to make it easiest to get your goals. Each of these conditions help you get clear on what you want and how you can most readily accomplish it.

To practice WFO you want to write out each step to keep track of the answers that come to you. The Outcome should be:

1. Stated in the positive: Speak in terms of what you want. What do you want to include? Do not state what you don’t want or prefer to exclude. Leave that alone. By stating it in the positive you aim at your target. You know where and what you want to get to.

If You Can Conceive It You Can Achieve It

2. Capable of representing in the senses: What will you see, how will you look when you get your outcome? What do you hear, say to yourself and what are others saying? How will you feel? Emotions and positive sensations in your body?

Where? (E.g. you feel your shoulders pull back, your chest move out, you chine raise, your feet firmly planted) when you accomplish your outcome?  Are their smells or tastes too? Write out each of these as detailed as you can. Your evidence is real world based.

3. Possible and achievable: It can’t be outside of a real world possibility. It must be something people CAN actually accomplish in a reasonable amount of time. Most outcomes are possible given a realistic time frame.

Build On Successes

Unfortunately, some people want things too quickly and have unrealistic time frames and expectations. Given the proper amount of time, and correct actions you can accomplish most things See number 5.

4. You specify and have all the necessary resources: Capital, knowledge, equipment, time, people, materials, etc. You assemble what you need in order to make it happen. Determine where you must go, or who else you need to enlist. What’s required?

For Outcomes to be really well formed you should be able to begin your actions and maintain them all on your own. The conclusion should rely on you successfully achieving your goal without relying on anyone else. You can control what you do but not others.

Establish Good Habits

Make sure you outcome is something you alone can pursue. Make certain you can begin working on it, follow through and complete it all on your own. Outside help is fine but should not be the determining factor on whether you get or don’t get your outcomes.

5. Have a deadline date that is realistic: Accomplished by when? Set a reasonable time for accomplishing your outcome. Put it on your calendar and work towards achieving it within that amount of time. The more realistic you are in all of these the easier it is to get it.

6.It is appropriately contextualized and ecological: This means it does not upset the system or apple cart. Your goal should not screw up your life or others. It should fit within your existing lifestyle and relationships. It does not harm anyone. It should be beneficial.

Decide And Act

If it includes others it is win/win. If it requires too many extraneous conditions or is too large of an immediate lifestyle change you may not continue to work on accomplishing your outcome. Don’t try to push a large boulder uphill. Make it manageable and do-able.

For example, if you wanted to exercise more how can you fit it into your existing schedule? What changes might you need to make in order to get to the gym, work out, and not rob you of important time with family, work or whatever?

If it takes time from other important areas in your life how likely would you be to continue? While some may answer, very likely, most people ultimately don’t continue. This is important to realize. You don’t want to bite off more than you can chew.

Limit Distractions – Focus On What You Want

Bit by bit you get there. You take positive, practical, reasonable, well thought out steps toward accomplishing what you want. You identify the end result clearly, what you see, hear and feel, so you know when you have arrived. You know what to expect.

Knowing these and feeling these keeps you motivated and feeling positive. By setting a deadline date you learn to begin and end within a given time, no excuses. You do what you can in the time you are allotted with the resources available.

That is Well Formed Outcomes. You can set them and accomplish more than you ever thought possible.

Consistent And Persistent Action Will Get You There

One more thing. You should know that you already have all the resources within you to accomplish your goals and dreams. However, you may not know this, believe this or recognize them. Still, you do. There are other times you succeeded, no matter how small, when you thought, felt and behaved resourcefully.

Tap into these. Remember, previous accomplishments and challenges when you prevailed. What did you see, hear and say and feel when you were confident and successful? Relive these in your mind, your memories. Get in touch with your feelings of success.

Think of resources as emotional states and abilities. Resources include your ability to learn; to smile, laugh and feel good; to be confident. Your ability to relax or feel peaceful or secure. Your ability to think clearly. Your ability to be playful and have fun.

Look For, Find And Use Your Inner Talents And  Abilities

You are already resourceful in so many ways. Recognize and validate this. Look inside for the best you have. Saying no can be a resource, setting boundaries, getting appropriately angry. Frustration or discontent that leads to positive action can be a resource. Anything CAN be a resource when utilized appropriately.

I’ll share more about WFO in upcoming blogs. I provide you with more details about setting them including questions you can ask to make certain you can most easily achieve the outcomes you set. Remember, what you can conceive and believe you can achieve!

It is an exciting opportunity for each of us to examine how our minds limit us, when we let it, and how to take control of our mind and direct it toward our goals and dreams. Setting WFO means gaining needed clarity in order to more easily get what you want.

Know What You Want – Clarify And Simplify – Make It Happen

It means helping team members clarify their over all purpose in working together. It is important they are all on the same page and that their efforts support each other and contribute to the overall project purpose.

In the same way it is important for a team of rowers to all face the same way, oars in the water, rowing in the same direction at the same time. It is important to get cooperation from members so they work in harmony. They work with each other not against.

The same thing can be said of your conscious and unconscious mind, the left and right hemisphere. The goal is to get them aligned and working together congruently so you can make your goals and dreams happen. Work with yourself not in opposition.

Keep It Simple Sweetheat

The members of the team get home work and exercises that I prescribe and we meet weekly to evaluate and track progress. Well, that’s pretty much it for today. If you enjoy these blogs please use the information to positively transform your own life.
