An Actor’s Thoughts: The Importance Of Focus

“Why do I write about distraction and the importance of being focused? As an actor, concentration is everything. Energy flows where your attention goes. You must pay attention! This is true for everyone. What you focus on expands. Your thoughts do matter.

An actor must be of one mind. If the actor’s attention is split, part on the character the actor portrays, and part on remembering one’s lines, the performance will suffer. The actor’s full attention must be on the character created. This is why you rehearse and learn lines.

The actor rehearses to be free of distractions and free in the moment, as the character, to take advantage of opportunities that present, during the scene. The actor must listen and concentrate on the others in the scene. Attention is everything. Remember this!

Practice Creates Confidence – Confidence Gives You Power

This is true for all of us; everyone. We can learn from the actor’s commitment and dedication. The actor spends time memorizing and rehearsing so, when performing, it appears fresh, as if it is occurring for the very first time. BUT it is well rehearsed. It is practiced!

All of us can benefit from rehearsal and practice. Athletes and teams rehearse and practice. Musicians and all performing artists practice thousands and thousands of hours to be able to perform in real time. All skills require we wire them in; golf, swimming, piano, cooking.

Jugglers and tightrope walkers practice to get good and to make it look like they are doing some things for the very first time. They practice making it look dangerous and scary. Sometimes, it really is. They wouldn’t think to attempt something without wiring it in!

Every Practice Session Is A Learning Process – Learn Success

Why should we expect any less of ourselves when it come to making our lives great and our dreams come true? Manifesting what you want, making it happen, IS a skill. It requires practice. Managing your thoughts and feelings and actions require the same commitment.

Spend time each day affirming and visualizing what you want and you will get better at it. Take inspired actions toward your goal, get up off your butt and do something in that direction and you will get better at it. Read and fill your mind with positive thoughts.

Everyday do something. Even if it is only a little bit, it is better than nothing. Imagine. Act AS IF you already are and have what you want. The more time you put into creating it, the better you get, and the closer you get to actually having it. Practice, practice, practice!

Knowledge Is Useless Unless And Until You Put It Into Practice

When the going gets tough you get what you practice. You weather the storms better when you travel in advance of the world. You prepare for all events and circumstances by training and conditioning your responses. EMTs, firefighters all train to be ready.

Don’t expect any less of yourself. Commit to being the best. Don’t rely on magic, rely on you. YOU are much more likely to make it happen than wishing will make it happen. Practice success skills. Practice feeling happy and successful. Practice gratitude! Enjoy.

Be thankful. Practice positive thinking and attitude. Practice feeling joyful and enthused. Practice abundance. Feel abundance! Practice manifesting and creating. Make it happen. Practice getting along with others and support them. Practice listening and paying attention. Practice positivity. Practice focus. Practice speaking only to bless, heal and prosper. Practice celebrating! Practice feeling delighted! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

It Is True The Harder The Conflict The More Glorious The Triumph

“Dan Rather recently quoted Thomas Paine. I like the quote. I’d like to remove it from the political context it was originally written for, and the present use of Mr. Rather. This quote reminds us that troubles and  conflict may be difficult but we can triumph.

I particularly enjoy the line ‘the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph’. These are true words. When things are tough, yet, we prevail, it is considered much more valuable. A worthy opponent, is what the warrior seeks. Perhaps, we should too.

We can stand tall, and remain true, and stay committed unlike the ‘summer soldier and the sunshine patriot’ or ‘the fair weather friend’ and not shrink from our service. We stay true to our intention, our definite chief purpose and mission in life. We remain committed.

Patience Persistence Perspiration An Unbeatable Combination

Yes, I like this. Stay dedicated to your goals. Find and create away. Adjust and continue. Keep on point. Don’t give up. Fight the good fight. This is why attitude and mindset, and the ability to manage your thoughts and emotions, is such a valuable skill to develop.

Thomas Paine famously wrote in 1776: ‘These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.’

Are You Attracting What You Want Or What You Don’t Want?

“What is the biggest mistake people make in thinking about the Law Of Attraction (LOA)? What is the main reason people don’t attract what they want? How come it works for some but not for others? If you have questions or concerns like these then read on. I’ll answer.

People erroneously think that you use the Law Of Attraction to attract what you want, but that is a mistake. The principle that applies is ‘like attracts like’. So, you attract what you are, already, like. You do not attract what you aren’t, even if you want that.

I’ll rephrase that. If you are broke and you want to be rich, you will continue to attract broke, because like attracts like. Yes, you want to be rich but you can only attract back to you what you already are. Like attracts more of the same back. Do you understand this?

The More You Are Grateful – The More You Will Be Given

It doesn’t attract something different. It attracts the same. This is why you do mindset work. This is why you correct your thinking and feelings. Napoleon Hill said you trick your subconscious mind in certain ways. How? By thinking and acting as if you already are it.

You think and act and speak and feel as if you are already rich. You stop acting broke and start acting as if you have plenty of money and abundance. As you do this, daily, you begin to actually take on those thoughts and feelings. You convince yourself. You begin to believe.

When you believe you are rich, worthy, deserving, abundant and feel wonderful about it you attract that back into your life. You get more of the same. You do not attract what you want. You attract what you are! Do you now understand? You can make the LOA work for you.

Gratitude Is The Open Door To Abundance 

To do so, you must do some work, first. You prepare the soil for planting seeds. You do the same with the LOA. You act as if, you think it, speak it, feel it fully, first.  That IS preparing the soil. Once you believe it, you have planted the seeds. So yes, prior work is required.

Like attracts like.  If you are happy, you attract more happiness. If you feel rich, you attract more riches. You get more of what you already are. Most people are not what they want to attract yet, so they continue to attract the old stuff.

They focus on debt but want riches. They end up getting more debt. They focus on sickness but want health. They end up staying ill. They focus on what is wrong with their life partner but they want the perfect relationship. Do you see the pattern here? Do you get it?

If You Focus On What You Don’t Have You’ll Never Have Enough

You attract what you ARE presently. Whatever that is, good or bad, positive or negative. So what are you attracting? Look around you, examine your life. If it isn’t what you want you have some changes to make.  It’s cool we have this feedback that let’s us know what to do.

If you don’t have the results you want, then, you must make changes so that you can start getting them. If you want your life to change you must changes some things in your life. Change your thinking and feeling. Act as if you already have the success you desire. Go first!

Gratitude for what we presently have is the key. The more grateful you are, the better you feel. The better you feel the more good things you attract. Be grateful for finding a penny on the street. Why? Because that is finding money! You just found some money!

The More You Celebrate Your Life The More There Is To Celebrate

The brain and universe doesn’t care if it is a penny or a million dollars. It is money! Celebrate finding money. Celebrate being lucky. Celebrate whatever comes to you.  Your gratitude for money brings you more money. Appreciation adds value to everything. It does!

Your gratitude for health brings you more. Your gratitude for happiness brings you more happiness. When you vibrate high you attract much more. Remember, we get what we are! We do not get what we want.  If you really want it be grateful.

Appreciate the present and you’ll have a better future. How you feel right now determines how you will feel later on. You get back more of what you are. Live with delight. Live with ‘yes’. Live with fun, passion, enjoyment, enthusiasm. Live playfully. Live, love and laugh. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

There Is Nothing More Important You Can Do Than Learn To Control Your Thinking!

“The most important thing  you can do is learn how to control your thinking. Everything first begins with thought. Your actions and results originate from your thoughts and feelings. You can’t do anything more important than to learn to manage your thoughts.

Filling your mind with happy, positive thoughts is a quick way to health. It may be the fastest road to good health. This is why it’s important to read positive materials, listen to positive audios, and think positively consistently. It helps keep you healthier.

This is why your daily rituals should include positive affirmations, visualization, hanging out with other positive people and making the effort to think and feel better. Tony Robbins is wrong, positive thinking is not thinking, ‘there are no weeds, there are no weeds’.

Go 24 Hours Without Complaining Notice How Your Life Improves

Positive thinking doesn’t mean you ignore less difficult situations. Positive thinking means that you approach circumstances in a more positive and productive way. You think or expect the best will happen, not the worst. You determine to make things work out.

Always Begin And End The Day With Positive Thoughts 

We can practice this and make positivity a habit. Whenever we become aware we are thinking or speaking silently or out loud less than gloriously we stop and correct it. Instead of saying, ‘I could never do that’ we switch it to, ‘I could do that.’

It is important that we believe our thoughts too so we may need to get there in steps. If you doubt you could do that you can work your way there by saying, ‘I could learn to do that. Given the opportunity I could begin to learn to do that. I can learn to do that.’ Get it?

‘I will learn to do that. I can do that’. It is up to you how you traverse this mental pathway but you select the thoughts that move you forward bit by bit. Positive thinking can be powerful and really make a difference for you in your life. Spend more time thinking good.

Positive Anything Is Better Than Negative Nothing – Be Positive

Then you will spend more time feeling good. A great way to think better is to appreciate more of yourself, life and those people, circumstances and things around you. Most of what makes us feel good and makes us truly rich are free; family, friends, the world.

Notice the beauty of the world, the taste of your food, the time spent having fun and express your gratitude for these. Spend more time thinking better, appreciating yourself and life and you’ll spend more time feeling good. That is reason enough to celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

Important Things To Do When Feeling Blue

“Remember, the tide goes out and comes back in. The cold becomes warm. To everything, there is a season. Thought and feeling management is based on creating supportive habits. Sometimes a break is nice. I tend to push through things. Sometimes, just allow.

Sometimes the contrast between feeling like it and not feeling like it can provide us with important insight and learning. Allow and surrender without giving up or giving in. Let go of how you think it should be and explore how it could be. Stop labeling and judging.

Look for tiny blessings that put a smile on your lips. Enjoy and delight. Morning comes. Whatever you focus on expands. Energy flows where attention goes. Attitude is everything. Where can you put your attention and focus that supports you? Find love, peace.

Listen To The Silence – It Speaks – Slow Down – Just Listen

What can you find that uplifts you? Look around. When blue, when stressed, when angry our focus constricts. Open it back up. Relax, breathe, move. Create some space. Step back a bit. Allow, let go. Stop and breathe. Breathe and focus on your breath. Listen. Listen.

Sigh. Hum. Sing. Breathe. Move. Walk. Notice, what else is around? Look around. Wonder, really wonder, what can you begin to explore and notice that is good and new? Go to nature. Sit. Imbibe. Listen, really listen. Look at the space. The empty spaces between things.

Do you realize there is more space than matter? Look at the space between branches and leaves. Between trees. Listen to the space between the notes in a song. Listen to the space between words. Create silence, listen to the space between your thoughts.

Silence Isn’t Empty – It Is Full Of Answers – Be Still And Know

Step back create some distance between you and the issue. Look at things from other angles, other perspectives. Lie down and look at the clouds. Look at the space between the clouds. Listen to a babbling brook; the sounds and silences in nature. Just listen.

Look for silver linings. Look for the good. Seek the good, however small. Seek what is new and different. Find anything to appreciate. Anything at all. ANYTHING! Large or small. Put your attention on the people, places, things, events, situations you are grateful for.

This changes everything. Keep the focus on what you are thankful for. That is where your energy will flow. That will change everything. It may start small, hardly noticable, or it may come in a flood. However it does, allow it. Celebrate it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Live Now How You Want To Be Living Later

I wrote yesterday about celebrating my 1000th consecutive published blog post.Today, is 1001. I point this out because when I undertook writing it was not without some difficulty. I decided it I would write daily. I called this blog daily inspiration and gratitude.

I committed to it. I had no readers but I made a commitment to write daily to inspire and feel gratitude. That decision began everything. I mention this because what we decide to create, what we decide not to create governs us. Our decisions do shape our destiny.

Here is my point and this really isn’t about me, but I use it as an example. I had no idea what kind of commitment writing everyday meant. I only knew I intended to keep it. I knew that by doing so I would develop the habit. I would also WANT to maintain it.

You Provide The Desire And The Action The Universe Responds

I want to not break the chain. I want to keep it going. Hopefully, my writing has improved. I think it has because I have practiced it daily. I look forward to writing and sharing. I am conditioned to write and share. This is how we change. We make the decision first.

We decided what we want. We then begin. We  begin right from where we are at, in whatever condition we are in. We do something each day in service of that decision. The more we do the more we can do. The more we do the better we can get. We practice.

We keep our word and our commitments to ourself and others. We manage and maintain our attitude, thoughts and feelings. We create the actions that make it happen. In doing so we create our reality. We design and make happen what we want. Whatever it is.

Whatever You Can Dream You Can Do – Begin It – Take Action

Whether it is about writing a blog, getting out of debt and becoming financially free, developing more loving relationships, have more fun, freedom and living our dreams, whatever it is about, we can make it happen, when we decide to and take inspired action steps each day.

It is the steady progress toward fulfilling a goal that keeps us on track. The more we progress the better it feels and the more we progress. There will always be challenges and obstacles but how we get through those depends much on how we view those. It does.

Mindset is the first and foremost skill you want to develop. A steel will and backbone to persist comes from doing and overcoming challenges. The kite rises highest against the wind. Passion is important because without it, it is unlikely you will continue.

Whatever You Consistently Hold In Your Mind You Manifest

It must be worth it to you. It must be important and all consuming. It is important to have fun, too. It is good to have a sense of humor, take things lightly and enjoy all of the process. When you don’t know what to do, do anything positive. Leave your comfort zone. Have fun.

Explore, delight and discover. Adventure. Be playful. Make your dreams happen and have a great time doing so. Stop struggling. Stop worrying. Start living now, how you want to be living later. THAT is the art and the science of making everything you want happen.

Live NOW, how you want to be living later. Stop delaying. Stop putting off. Stop making excuses. Stop whining and complaining. Start feeling good right now for no reason. Start by expressing gratitude. Focus on what you like. Focus on what thrills you.

I Am A Manifestation Of My Own Fantasies – I Am What I Think

Focus on what and who you appreciate. Focus on what makes you happy. Big or small. Tiny and insignificant. Find it and focus on it. Focus on these to the exclusion of all troubles and woes. Feel the power of feeling good! Do it now. Don’t wait. Begin immediately.

This IS how you transform. Where you put your attention and energy is what expands and you get more of. Put it on good things, wonderful things, lovely things, fantastic thoughts, feelings, memories and moments, then and now. Imbibe and savor these!

Focus on delight and you will be. Focus on crap and you get more crap. So stop that. Make love, passion, excitement, enthusiasm, happiness, peace and joy a habit. Do it daily. Practice and rehearse and you get better at it. Begin to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
