What Will You Do? The Future Is In Your Hands

“‘The chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken’. This quote has been ascribed to many through the centuries and has been repeated by Warren Buffet, one of the wealthiest men alive. It is worth paying attention to.

He says, ‘what matters most is the kind of person you are’.  So be sure to develop the best habits. Habits will rule you. Make sure you choose wisely those that rule you. Don’t be a servant to habits that hold you back, keep you down, negative, broke and unhappy.

Habits are formed, not at all at once, but gradually through repeated conditioning. Most of our habits evolve without us being aware they are evolving.  Unless we remain alert and aware there is a great possibility you will discover yourself with numerous ‘bad’ habits.

Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill – Skill Comes Of Doing

“You can transform yourself into the person you want to be, but you have to decide early,” says Buffet. At any age you can transform yourself by the decisions you make. When you decide to let go of the ‘bad’ habits and make good ones, you can and you will. It takes will!

Through the same process habits were formed, you will make new ones, but this time with awareness and choice. You will use repetition of behavior, correct behavior, consistently, for long enough, until the new habit, the new neural pathways, takes hold.

This requires dedication, will-power, awareness, correction and persistence. You must persist until the new ones lock in. You can’t dabble. You can’t do some today and then next week, then two days and then a month later. It can’t be random engagement. Get it?

Start Where You Are With What You Have –  Begin Today

You persist daily and see it through to the end. It may be frustrating but it is worth it. Only 2% of people ever do enough to master their mindset, feelings and behaviors to get the results they want that translate into great wealth or happiness! Most remain victims.

98% remain victims to their habitual thinking of lack, worry, fear and negativity. They remain victims to their feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, sadness and worthlessness. They remain victims to inaction, poor decision and procrastination. Time to stop it now!

You can change yourself from loser to winner, from victim to victor, when you repeatedly apply positive principles and practices long enough to make them positive, powerful, and reliable success habits. If you want to badly enough you will find a way!

New Neural Habits And Old Feelings!

“Recently, I wrote about positive and negative feelings last only about 90 seconds. These findings are current science. The sensations last 90 seconds. We keep the feelings alive by how we talk to ourselves, think about it, imagine in our mind afterwards.

It is what we do from habit  that keeps them going. For most of us it is not a problem when we have good feelings. Unless, they’re too fleeting. Most of us have problems with feeling bad. We’ll continue to have issues  until we learn new habits that promote well being.

One of the reasons it seems as if we have no choice when it comes to our feelings is because we habitually react to the electro-chemical stimulation. We react the same way we learned and were conditioned to react. It is habit. Our habits drive us and keep us.

Skill Comes Of Doing – Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill

We don’t do habits consciously. Good or bad, a habit is something we mastered subconsciously, non-consciously, that we now find ourselves doing. We discover ourselves doing something, usually after it starts. We become aware of it after we engage in it. Get it?

We realize we have been biting our nail, as an example, or we smoked that cigarette we declared we wouldn’t We engage the behaviors and act the same way , automatically, reliably, because we have gotten competent at it. It is what we do. Our habits ARE us!

We can learn new habits. We can create a gap, find a pause, and choose to respond differently. We can re-condition ourselves for success, for positive new habits, and get different behaviors and results, instead of doing what we always did habitually.

Eliminate Non-Supportive Habits – Develop Supportive Ones

YES, we can learn new habits. It is simple, but requires awareness, and persistence. We do the new behaviors consciously, correctly, consistently, repeatedly, for long enough until it becomes the new habit. We overwrite the old neural pathways and create new pathways.

Eventually, we master the new habit and we no longer think about it or choose to do it consciously. It becomes automatic and reliable just like the old one was. We can learn to do anything we put our mind to. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Bad News And Good News You Need To Do Something About!

“You made your thoughts, feelings, self-talk and behaviors habitual all while you were growing up from birth on. By about age seven your beliefs, mindset and behaviors were locked in. All of us go through this. Our limitations and beliefs govern us from then on.

That is the bad news. We are limited from the beginning. The good news is not everything we were conditioned with was negative or a limitation. We also have resources but we don’t even realize we have them because the limitations get most of our attention. We miss out.

More good news. Once we become aware of the conditioning process, and our own conditioning, we have the opportunity to change it. Awareness is the beginning point. When we realize what we are doing isn’t working any longer, we can begin to do new things.

Skill Comes Of Doing – Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill

Then we can re-condition ourselves and become free. It is simple, but not always easy. It requires we do the new thoughts, new self-talk, new feelings and new behaviors correctly, consistently, for long enough to overwrite the old habits and lock in the new habits.

Why You Are As You Are

“What people mostly miss is this: how you are right now, in the present, is what you have practiced to be, albeit without realizing it. Current reality is fashioned from the thoughts and actions that have come before. It doesn’t just happen. It evolves. The past leads here.

People repeat the same thoughts, feelings and behaviors, habitually. We live from our previous conditioning which leads to our present day results and outcomes. It is a journey. How you travel determines how you are when you arrive. We live from habits. You and I do.

If you want it to be otherwise and better, then you would need to change some things. You’d need to make some changes in what you think, feel, say and do. You’d need to change what you are doing to get different results. Get it? Then, the past doesn’t equal the future.

Want To Change Your Life – Change Something You Do Daily

You need to practice and recondition yourselves for success and happiness. Everything you do in life you practice and you master, whether it is good or not so good. Learn to make wiser, and better choices. Practice the things you want to include and keep.

Let go of the former not so good and wire in the good, instead. Then you are much wiser and smarter. Whatever you do repeatedly you are practicing. You practice and practice it, albeit unintentionally and unconsciously, over and over and then, voila’ it becomes habit.

It is now permanent until you learn how to be otherwise. Our habits are a godsend. They are all good, even when they lead to less than glorious results. Each has a special purpose. They are designed to be streamlined so you don’t have to think it over and over again.

Successful People Are Those With Success Habits

You just do it. You don’t have to keep learning something because you learned it and it is reliable and automatic. The truth is your brain doesn’t care whether you learned a good habit or a bad one. It treats them all the same. There is no judgment. You just do it. It does it!

YOU may  judge it because you want to do something different from what you ‘find yourself’ doing,  but in actuality, there is no judgement. It IS what it is AND will continue to be what it IS until you learn a different habit. You are a compilation of habits!

You  can be taught how to learn new habits. That is good news. You can recondition yourself  to make new positive ones. This is how you change. The new habits become permanent until you decide to change them. You trade one habit for another; bad for the good.

A Change From A Bad Habit Leads To A Positive Change In Life

If it isn’t working well for you, change it. If it is working wonderfully, allow it to continue and nurture it along. Promote what you want. Let go of what you don’t You can learn glorious new ways to be! It’s all marvelous when you think about it. The process is amazing.

Most people just don’t understand the process. They don’t work the process in their own best interests, because they don’t know how. This shouldn’t be surprising since we see people acting against their own interests much of the time. They simply don’t know any better.

All of us can be awakened to new possibilities and a positively marvelous life! That, for me, is the purpose, and outcome, of learning and training; to assist others to see in the dark, as long as it takes, for them to find their own light. It is to assist people in choosing better.

At The Heart Of Mastery Is Practice – Stay On The Path

It is to help you go beyond what you have known and into new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving so you can start accomplishing your goals and dreams. It is to help you skyrocket your results to create your best life ever! I love it! People are amazing. People can change.

You can change! Never wait. The time is now. Now, is the only time we actually have. Begin today then tomorrow can become incredible. Put into motion the principles and practices I share. Rehearse them, practice them, until they become habits for you.

Wire them in and they’ll become automatic. Wouldn’t you like to be automatically supported instead of automatically screwed? You can be when you learn how! That is great news!
