Once there, you will have another ‘then’ that you seek. So many people report their dissatisfaction with getting ‘everything I ever wanted’ because that isn’t what fulfills us. Enjoy this moment. Find miracles and blessings in this moment, then the next will be filled!

You get what you focus on. Then, is always a distance away. If your focus is on not being there yet, you will never get there. You will continue to pursue the elusive fulfillment of the future only to find you robbed yourself of all the good times in the meantime. STOP! “Drop by drop fills the tub. It happens in time. If you keep moving forward you will get there eventually. Keep growing and keep enjoying.. What else is there to do? Hate the journey? Do you wish to be miserable all along the way until you get there?  That sucks!

That is a waste of your present. You are living too much in the future if you are noticing you aren’t there yet. You aren’t in the present enjoying how glorious it can be right now. You’re mentally elsewhere and it is robbing you of your life and your peace and happiness!

Whether you focus on the past and carry around pain or you focus on the future worried about it or upset that the good you desire hasn’t manifested yet, you are keeping all the good away. You get back what you focus on. Instead focus on how marvelous now is! I’ll continue in the next post. Learn to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Let Go And Live!

“Become aware that you can drop your investment in your troubles. Stop living in the past and fearing the future. Become aware. Live in the present. Caste your burden on the divine. Put it on source. Give it over. Let it go. Come to the now. Become light and lite. Just be.

Find your inner peace. Meditate. Your perceptions, based on your past, limited, negative conditioning keeps you burdened and down. Free yourself. Stop living in fear, anger, regret, anxiety or doubt. Drop into the present and experience the now. Become renewed.

Refresh. Awareness is the key. Stop focusing on the less than glorious. Let go. Let it all go. Take moments to just attend to your breath. Breathe slowly. Focus on life breath coming into your lungs and going out. Feel the rise and fall of your belly with each breath.

Meditation Is Celebrating Yourself – You Are Divine – Be Aware

Whenever distracted simply return your attention to your breath. Spend 5, 10 15, minutes simply, gently, attending to your in and out breath. Let everything else go. Let it fade away. Gently attend to your breathing. Do this daily, at least once or twice. Find peace.

Notice your breath and stay with it. When finished allow yourself to carry the peacefulness, you enjoyed, into your day. The more you let go and meditate the longer you will feel the benefits. You will discover eventually ‘the peace that passes all understanding.’ As you continue during your day be grateful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Get Unhooked When You Get Hooked!

” How do you stay present? For most of us we are in the past or in the future. We are rarely right here, right now. What can we do when we think a negative thought, feel bad, have a craving, someone injures us verbally, or the world dumps problems on us? What to do?

The best approach is to learn to respond instead of react. Most of use knee jerk react. Someone hurts our feelings and we get mad, sad or try to get revenge. We react instantly to the offense. We are victims because we don’t think we have choice BUT we actually do.

The knack one must learn is to delay the reaction. Similar to delayed gratification. When you want that cookie NOW, delay getting it. Consider having it later. Stop rushing into it. You may wonder how to do this because you haven’t yet been able to. Practice delaying!

You Go Where Your Thoughts Take You – Let Go – Witness – Relax

When you feel bad, have a craving or someone says something that is an affront to you SIT with it. Stop judging it or anything just sit with it. Notice it. Be aware that it occurred. You need to train yourself that it is okay to just be and let it go. Yes, you feel it.

Sit with it. Some suggest sitting for a half an hour. Don’t judge it. Don’t judge yourself. Label nothing. Just feel it and sit with it. Do not indulge it just observe it. Yes, this takes practice if you never have done it but YOU can master it if you will only practice it regularly.

Sit with it for 30 minutes. Why 30? To allow it to dissipate. Simply watch. Slow down the internal feelings and internal self talk. SLOW down. Watch, witness observe. Don’t rush. Take time. After 30 minutes change it. Affirm something else. Do something else.

Skill Comes From Doing – It Gets Easier The More You Do It

Seek the positive. Shift from sitting with it to becoming positive. I am not saying you have to be happy for it but change it from being a problem. Learn to manage your thoughts and emotions and get truly present. You sat with it in the moment. NOW change it productively.

Put off you cravings. Don’t rush. It takes will power but you need to learn how to use your will power. Anything you want to learn to do well may seem impossible at first but with regular correct practice you can master this. It may take 30, 60, 90 days or more but do it.

Negative thoughts and feelings are a part of life. Everyone has them. BUT not everyone is hooked into them. Some have learned how to manage them better. Some learn how to shift from their difficulty to their inner resources. There is nothing wrong with negativity.

Listen And Learn The Lesson – Sit – Wait – Allow – Transform

Negative feelings are alert signals that you are thinking less than glorious thoughts. When you discover this be willing to sit and observe. Sit and transform. Simply recognize the thoughts and feelings for what they are. Don’t judge. Then  change them.

Give it to god, the universe or whatever your personal belief is about a higher power. Surrender it. Give it over. Think, ‘thy will be done’. Let it go and let god. Look for the blessing. Look for the lesson. What can you learn that will benefit you and others from this situation.

If you want to be happy, peaceful, successful and live a wonderful life you need to learn to do new things and transform old ways. You take charge and learn to respond instead of react. Stop being Pavlov’s dog and slobbering every time your bell is rung. Get it? Change it!

If You Really Want To Transform Yourself You’ll Find The Way

Find the lesson and apply the lesson. In order to live successful transform yourself. It isn’t about others or circumstances it is about you. Be the change you want to enjoy. Expect the best, know it may be difficult but that YOU can learn to do this. Condition yourself.

Practice gratitude. Be grateful for the opportunity to change. Be grateful for the lesson in the less than glorious situation. Be grateful you have an opportunity to begin to do things in a new way. Be grateful you are learning to get ‘unhooked’.

Stop reacting, and take charge of your life. It is all a blessing! Delay gratification. Sit with the negative feelings. Stop judging. Let go. Change it at 30 minutes. Do anything else that makes you feel positive and is good for you and others.

If You Don’t Want To Transform Yourself You’ll Find Excuses

Seek to uplift not to harm. Count all as a blessing, a learning and opportunity. Recognize the good about you and your life. Love yourself. Accept yourself. You don’t have to be perfect. Stop being a perfectionist. Live, love, laugh. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Put It Behind You!

“The only moment we  have is now. The future has not yet happened and the past is done and over with. Sadly, some people carry the past around as  a present curse. It is finished. Put it down. Put it behind you. Let it go. Move on. It is no more, unless you keep it alive.

Stop reliving old times. Learn how to move from that which happened then, to the present. Live in the present free of the past. When you do an incredible creative energy is available to you. Some people relive what happened this morning over and over.

Others, relive what happened 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago or more. You must first decide if reliving any of these moments that happened in the past is worthy of your time and energy. After all, it is your life. How much time do you want to spend in the past?  Get it?

Today You Are Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You

Some people relive sad, bad, less than glorious moments because they haven’t learned how to forgive, let go, and move beyond those, yet. Others, relive positive, happy moments because they aren’t busy creating any more new ones. Live now. Live free. Let it go.

Put it behind you and walk away. All of the past can be a resource if you use it to learn from and move forward. Or it can be debilitating if you are stuck in it and affected by it. Those who are successful and happy know how to put it into perspective and move on.

Learn the lessons from then. Appreciate the experience. Find a way to forgive, if necessary, and forget to focus on back then. Focus on now and what you want to enjoy. Focus on what you want to create for yourself. Whatever you focus on expands. Focus on blessings!

Tomorrow You Will Be Where Your Thoughts Take You

Focus on the positive. Learn to be thankful and you transform. Learn to be willing to change! Learn to allow the good and the positive. Focus on the good and the positive and you get more back. Make new positive experiences. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

These Changes You Can Make Will Create An Incredible Difference!

“Some day I will take another form whatever that may be. I will no longer walk the planet. I won’t be around to comment on whether events are good or bad, right or wrong. They will go on without my commentary or criticism. Just as they did before I arrived here.

Since that’s the case why should I waste my time judging now? Isn’t there a better, a wiser, use of my time? Wouldn’t I be better off not digging in despair whether the events are personal or global? Life is short. Instead of labeling events good or bad, is there another way?

Life is way, way too short, as far as I am concerned, so I want to find a way to maximize the little time on the globe as best I can. Years ago, I decided that if I was going to live on the planet I deserved to live in paradise. Whatever the situation is I wanted it to be paradise.

Life Is Too Short Not To Enjoy It And Celebrate Everything

I found, when I told others this, many said it was not possible given the world and current state of affairs. They’d say things like, ‘well there will always be suffering’. They said many things and I heard from many people through the years.

Their attitude seemed to be, ‘ life is short, you struggle, try to be happy live a good life, hurt no one and die. Then hope there is an afterlife and that you may be rewarded’. I knew this is not the way I want to go through my days. If they wished to that was up to them.

Not I. It took me some time, a lot of time actually, but one day I decided to decide how I wanted to think about things. I decided, whether it is accurate or not, that I create my experience. There is alot scientific supporting the premise that we create our reality.

Why Give Up Your Time On Earth Feeling Down And Out

Regardless, of whether it is true or not, I decided that I create my experience. I determined I had created a lot of crap in my life and some good things. I looked at me, my life, and it occurred to me that I always got what I wanted and what I thought about. I really did.

My worst fears often came true. If I was anxious or depressed about something it was harder to move through the world. If I worried about money I never seemed to have enough. Perhaps, it was a chicken and egg thing, and I wasn’t sure what came first.

Did I not have money so I worried about it or because I worried about money I never had any. I wasn’t certain, but I decided not to care. I decided that I would control my thinking. I would endeavor to think the best about myself, my circumstances, and my future.

Let Go – Have Fun – Discover The Blessings And Celebrate

I’d think positively about the people around me, my  family, friends, and even strangers. I would strive to maintain a positive focus. I would concentrate on finding the good in everything as much as I am able. I would find the best in everything and everyone.

It was not always easy. It still isn’t always easy. Sometimes there are challenges and it seems like I may lose my way. I get sidetracked or off course, caught up, and I forget what is important and I get hooked. At some point I realize, that too, is my decision.

It’s  like a guilty pleasure, but without the pleasure part. You know, when you know you shouldn’t be doing something but you do it anyway. Whatever it is,  maybe you shouldn’t have that extra helping but you just have to, or you sneak an extra piece of chocolate.

You Go Where Your Thoughts Take You – Manage Your Thoughts

You feel guilty. Maybe, guilty isn’t exactly the right word.  It isn’t guilt sometimes it is just that you just know there is a better way of being or thinking or behaving.  It is like that, at some point, I become aware that I am off base and I need to get back on.

I know it is up to me.  Sometimes I don’t feel like correcting myself, but I do it anyway (because I have since learned how to). I course correct. There is so much incredible power in learning how to shift from the negative to the positive. It is absolutely freeing!

I learned, just because things are going on around me that are not to my liking, even if everything is crumbling, I do not have to think negative thoughts, or feel bad or respond as I would have in the past. That was something else i did a lot of.  I used to live in the past.

Live In The Present – Celebrate – Learn To Be Here Now

I used to aggrandize  the good old days and lament what was or what never came to be. I gave that up to. I developed a plan to change myself. I create daily rituals. I put my attention, focus, energy and time on thinking better and feeling better. AND IT WORKED.

I’ll share more in the next post. If you are a regular reader you know how important these things are. You understand mindset comes first and determines how we feel, behave and the results we get. You know if you want better results manage your mindset. BOOM!

That is what you must do. Gratitude is a powerful way to shift your focus and feel better. Focusing on what is good, new and different in this moment brings you back to the moment where you can count your blessings, feel good about everything, validate yourself and celebrate. Happiness Is Right Now Not Later

Happiness comes from appreciating what is in this moment. Happiness comes from accepting who you are right now. Happiness comes from the awareness that all is as it is right now. Happiness comes from noticing the good in the present. Happiness is now!

It is not later. It is not previously. It is right now. Happiness is in this moment. When you fill your being with the beauty of now you are happy. Happiness is being fulfilled in this instance. Happiness is not seeking to be somewhere else or feel something else. Happiness is.

Happiness is now! Delight in this moment. Fall into it. Stop escaping and going elsewhere. Calm the monkey mind that leaps from thing to thing. Settle. Reflect on all that is good here and now. Be here now. Feel it fully. Meditate. Meditate on it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
