You want a joy-filled life then begin to think and act joyfully. You go first and the benefits follow. Think happy thoughts and you will feel happy. Feel happy and you will think happy thoughts. The happier you are the more you enjoy life. The easier things go for you. If you want to live happily, healthily and successfully then go first! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

“Benjamin Franklin wrote, ‘If you would be loved, love and be lovable.’ These are pretty profound words. These words exemplify the concept of ‘Go First!’ If you want love, be loving first. If you want kindness, be kind first. If you want peace, be peaceful first. Get it?

It should go without saying, this is the ancient principle of Cause and Effect. It is the principle of Reciprocity. It is the principle of The Law of Attraction. If you want something, be it first. The mirror reflects back a smiling person. Birds of a feather flock together. Get it?

If you want attention, give your attention first. If you want to be heard, listen well first. If you want abundance, feel abundance and give first. Stop expecting the other to go first. YOU go first. You get back what you put out. The world loves a cheerful giver. Get it?

Celebrate all. Consider everyone and every circumstance a blessing. Decide how you want it. If you want to be loved, love and be lovable.  Live intentionally, not haphazardly. Do This And Your World Will Change!

“There is a practice that can help you get more of what you want in life.  It is powerful. It is simple. It is easy to apply. When you do you will find yourself transforming in thought, feeling, actions and the results you get. It is a game changer. Once you do it you’ll know why.

It is true that it rains on the rich and the poor. The sun shines on both the good and the bad. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. Some readers may feel because of this that they aren’t going to engage in the following practice.

They miss the point and they will miss out. You will only know the benefit by actually doing the practice. Knowing comings from doing not from observing, listening or doing nothing. The proper fruit of knowledge is action. Take action and discover the good that comes.

What We Want To Do With Ease We Must First Do With Diligence

Giver’s get. Whatever you want, give it first. Grease the wheel. Take action. Take the first step. If you want love, give love. If you want peace, become peaceful. If you want money, give money. Give from a place of abundance. Give from your heart. Give freely. You’ll receive.

Expect to receive. Just don’t expect to receive from the same source you gave to. Don’t give to receive, give to give. Simply know in doing so you will receive. You must be willing to let go and not hoard. Give freely. Let go and enjoy giving. Make room for more by giving now.

In order to put new things in your closet you may need to make room by letting go of the old. Let go. Let go of thoughts and ideas that hold you back. Make room for new. Let go of old feelings and attitudes. Allow yourself to be refreshed by the renewing of your mind. Get it?

Go First – Initiate – Have Faith – Let Go – Allow – Give – Receive

Give in faith and trust that all will good and work out for the best. Develop an attitude that good always comes to you. Give your best and the best comes back. You don’t need to give everything away, that isn’t the point. Give to let go. Give to stop clinging. Give to benefit others. Give from a place of love and fulfillment. When you do you enrich yourself and your world. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Give To Live And Live To Give: It Is Miraculous

“A friend shared this quote recently. It is a powerful one. If you put this principle into practice it can immediately begin to transform your life and being. “Do the work that comes to you but don’t’ look for the results. Don’t be motivated by the fruits of your actions.”

I don’t know who the quote is attributed to but the principle is profound. Do good for the sake of doing good. Give for the sake of giving. Stop looking for return and do simply because you can and you want to. When you give, and give freely, miracles can happen.

You transform yourself when you give freely. When you do it for the joy of doing it, your inner joy is magnified and multiplied. There is a reason some say it is ‘better to give than to receive’. BOTH are important. It is important you can do both well. Be a great giver!

Go The Extra Mile – Go Beyond What Is Expected Of You

Be a great receiver. Stop denying and begin accepting.  But since this post is on giving, focus on giving. Go the extra mile. Do something nice and special for someone for no reason at all. Seek to make others smile and feel good. Always have a kind word or thought.

Share and give without any thought of benefiting yourself. Put your attention on benefiting others THEN you will discover the joy, bliss and blessings that come from doing without wanting. Most people want so much that they forget to let go of wanting and just live.

Live to the utmost. Help others do the same. As you do you release inner talents, abilities and resources you may not even be aware that you have. You get back from within you, even if you don’t get back from without. What you put out you get back. Give freely. Enjoy.

Givers Get – What Goes Around Comes Around – Give To Give

Delight in being able to make others feel better. When you do you will too. Help others find the good and new, the blessings, in all situations. Find the lessons within adversity and transform all situations. Delight in all things and your life will be incredible beyond anything you could ever imagine! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Secret To Success: Become An Excellent Giver And Receiver

Is there a way to increase the speed and likelihood of good things coming your way? Yes, indeed. Think and do good things first. Like attracts like. Be open and optimistic. Allow others to support you and do good things for you in return. Don’t dismiss other’s kindness.

Don’t diminish things by saying, ‘it was nothing,’ or ‘you shouldn’t have,’ or ‘you don’t have to’. Say, ‘you are welcome, my pleasure’, and ‘thank you!’ BE grateful. Be pleased. Enjoy the return. Accept good things that come your way. Feel blessed and celebrate. Receive!

You give. You allow. You create an intention and with faith take inspired actions to make it happen. You then allow. Get out of the way and let things happen. It doesn’t mean you quit giving or doing. It means you let things unfold without micromanaging. Receive!

The Thankful Receiver Bears The Bountiful Harvest

Be open and available. Allow it to come in whatever form it comes in. It may not come in the form of cash. It could come in the form of energy, or freed up time or a form of assistance from others. It could come in the form of a a new friendship. It can come in any way!

It can come in any form and in any number of different ways. Unless you are alert and aware, you may not recognize it. YES, it could come in the of cash, if that is what you gave or put out. You want to recognize it and celebrate it. You want to feel blessed. Feel it fully.

You want to realize the harvest. Recognize and acknowledge it. Celebrate feeling blessed. When you recognize the return you increase your faith and willingness to continue. Then you spiral up into more good things. Like attracts like. You get more good back!

The Secrets Of The Universe Are Energy Vibration And Frequency

Understand, it’s not for you to dictate how it comes back to you. Just as it is not for you to dictate how others use what you give. Let the unexpected happened. Let yourself be surprised and delighted. Open yourself up. Trust in what is. That is faith! That is believing.

Remember, ‘ask, believing you will receive and you will receive.’ Through faith you shape your  mindset to experience miracles and magic every moment; small and large. Be on the lookout for good things coming your way. You are likely to find what you look for.

Be on the lookout for good, because it will come. Relax. Trust. Be open and available. Be an excellent giver. Be an excellent receiver. Expect miracles. Expect unexpected good. Anticipate things working out. Give cheerfully and receive cheerfully. Be positive and joyful.

Universe Gives Without Discrimination – The Sun Shines On All

The more open and aware you become, the more good you find. Never be disappointed if things don’t work out as planned. Be open to new surprises. Know it will work out eventually.  Be curious about how good will come your way; how it will all work out for good.

Go with the flow. What is IS. Learn to adjust and carry on. Continue. Know that you can always create of find a way. Be flexible! Wonder and discover what potential good is in the new version of what is happening.  Welcome goodness and opportunity into your life.

When you are welcoming, it can come to you. Invite goodness by first sharing goodness. It begins with YOUR thoughts, and feelings and actions. YOU get back what YOU put out. Be both; an excellent giver and an excellent receiver. Life becomes truly fascinating. Celebrate it all. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Secret: Good Returns To You When You Create Flow

“Can you really give and get back? It depends on what you focus on. If you go out in the morning looking for smiles you are bound to find them. You may also encounter some frowns. If you begin focusing on the frowns, it’s likely, you will find many more of them.

Energy flows where attention goes. Instead of getting the smiles you wanted, and began with, you were distracted by, and diverted to, frowns. Frowns; you get what you don’t want. So, you must not be thrown off by the ‘negative’ and stay focused on what you want.

Remember to think of it as creating what you want. You initiate and you maintain it by your thoughts, feelings and actions. It is not magically happening. You are doing it. You are attracting it by your mindset and attitude. You claim what you want and make it happen.

Life Is A Boomerang – You Get Back What You Give Out – Flow

Create flow. You can keep money moving whether you’re moving a dime from a $1, or $10 from $100, or $100 from $1,000, or $1,000 from $10,000.  Get this?  It is the flow you create by moving energy. Money is energy.  Energy flows where attention goes. Move it!

It is not the amount that is important but the flow you create. As I mention the Bible references 10%. That is 10% of your finest, first, top of the line goods. That could be money, time, energy, attention, love,  respect, and more. Whatever you give, give quality.

You don’t have to follow the Biblical standard unless you want to. It is worth it to try it however, to discover how it works. However, you must do what is right for you not because I say it. AND it is can be good to be willing to explore and do new things if you haven’t.

Give Your Best And Receive Back The Best – It Is Cyclic – Create It

When you give your best, you may expect the best. When you go the extra mile, magical things seem to happen. You are creating it by your thoughts and intentions. You make it happen by your attitude, feelings and actions. Remember,  ‘if it is to be, it is up to me.’

When your intention is to give freely, with no though of how it must return, then you create a climate in which you give and are open to receive. It’s just as important to be an open and available receiver as it is to be an open and generous giver. Both are part of the equation.

This means don’t demand how it is to come back. Allow it to come to you in any form at any time. Don’t be discouraged. Enjoy giving for the sake of giving and helping others. When it comes accept it. Don’t deny it or push it off. Welcome it. Don’t say, ‘it was nothing.’

Gratitude – Feeling Blessed – Shifts You To A Higher  Frequency

Say, ‘thanks!’. BE enthused. Enjoy. Delight and celebrate. The more optimistic and positive you are, the more you delight and enjoy the more you get back. Create that flow. Create that cycle. Remember, it circulates.  Allow yourself to be blessed. Expect but don’t insist.

Next time, I’ll discuss your focus. It is important to focus on giving, and not the recipient or how your giving is utilized. For today, remember to practice gratitude. Give in a way that warms your heart and puts a smile on another person’s lips. Think about it!

You could pay someone a genuine compliment. You could smile. You might tip a little bit extra. You can open a door for someone or help someone out. You can simply imagine beaming love or positive energy to others and the world. Whether you give money or something else, give. Whatever you do, enjoy it. Give freely and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You Can Use A Loss Leader Because It Works!

“At times the best strategy is the loss leader. You lose now to win later. You give something away to get more in return. Trade shows, Chamber meetings, often provide treats at no cost or they give a free gift away which attracts you to their booth or to a consultation.

The loss leader is used to entice people to drop in. If you take their free candy most likely you will feel that you should stop and listen at least a moment. Yes, some people take a handful but keep going. Most succumb to the Law Of Reciprocity. You give they give back.

Candy is not a promotional item one gets in a swag  bag. Those are branded items they hope you will keep, or pass along. They bank on you giving them some business or referrals in the future. Reciprocity at work again. The  candy is to get people to stop and stick around.

Only By Giving You Will Attract More Than You Already Have

Companies are willing to give items away for free, at a loss, because it’s likely to increase their business down the road. It’s an investment that follows the rule of Go First. Give it away first and  people  will give back in return later. If it didn’t work no one would use it!

Within these blog pages, many times, I have referred to the Rule of Going First and The Law Of Reciprocity because when you give unconditionally to others they can respond in kind. Will everyone? No, but many or most will. Ignore the ones who don’t. Really, let it go.

Focus on what you want and who you want;the type of client or friend. If you want honest, loyal, trustworthy people who believe in you be that person to them first. Be that kind of client or provider or friend. Focus on what you want to create and attract. Then attract it.

Givers Advance The World – Takers Don’t Advance Others 

Birds of a feather flock together. The ones who don’t will fall by the wayside. That is fine. You still operate from a higher purpose or cause. You operate from a giving position. Give to give, not to get! It is the result of authentic, genuine giving that brings back the return.

Don’t focus on getting back. Focus on providing value. Focus on giving freely. Focus on being trustworthy. Focus on being loyal and honest. Focus on believing in the people you attract. When you’re pure of heart others will read that and respond. They really will!

Those who don’t, let go. This is how you create an incredible supportive tribe. Focus on the kind of tribe members you want and give to them first. The ones you want show up. The ones you don’t want let go of. Get it? Create and attract the good that you want!

Giving Liberates The Giver – Giving Creates More Freedom

If you genuinely love people and appreciate them they will know. You will get known for being that sort of person. If their interests are in your heart they will know and respond. The more grateful you are for the people around you the more grateful they will be too.

Your relationships will blossom and improve because of your focus and ability to give generously without strings attached. Delight in the opportunity to give, to serve, to go the extra mile, and you may attract dedicated raving fans and tribe members. So enjoy the process. Be sure to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Would A Movie Company Be Willing To Take You Camping?

“Would a movie production company be willing to take you camping? Heck, would any company take you camping? It is important that you be able to answer, ‘YES’! Do you know why? This is necessary to understand. People say ‘yes’ to people they like.

People want to hang around with people they like. Get it? No one wants to go camping, or be on a set, or work together with a person who is a downer. They’ll avoid the person who isn’t a team player. They don’t want to be around a selfish, self-absorbed complainer.

You need to be likable! Get known as a team player. Support other’s and allow others to support you. If you GO FIRST it is more likely they will want to support you in return. ALWAYS be willing to go first. Don’t wait for others. Set the gold standard. Take the initiative.

T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More – Be A Team Player

You get known by your actions. OR you get known by your lack of actions. You want to develop the best reputation you can. You will accomplish this when  you add value and go beyond what anyone else is willing to do. You will be highly regarded and sought after.

Your reputation precedes you! You are known by your fruits, or your behaviors. Actions speak louder than words. Remember this! Attitude is everything. It determines your altitude. How far you go, how successful you become, is determined by those around you.

No one ever makes it on their own. The term self-made is a fallacy. People make it together. One may rise or be pushed to the top but without the support of others, there is no where to go. You’re all in the same boat. You need to row in the same direction. Get this?

Good Players Inspire Themselves Great Players Inspire Others

Celebrate other workers successes. Provide genuine praise and enthusiasm. You succeed by helping others succeed. In the movie business, one of the industries I work in and enjoy, being someone who adds value, who is friendly and not a grumbler, is critical.

People tend to complain about their bosses, the job or project, other workers, the weather, you name it. If you don’t you get noticed for being positive and optimistic. When a movie company crews up and casts up one consideration, of course is, is the person qualified?

Whether one can do the job, or not, IS critical? What have they done before? Who has hired them? WHO is this job candidate? Their reputation is important. Who referred them are typical and critical questions. Still, there is a mindset that governs much of the hiring.

You Inspire Others By Showing Them How Incredible They Are

If we were going camping would we want to bring this person along? Would they be fun to have? Will they get along with everyone? Working together can be like a camping trip. It often is; on location, with movie companies. Do we want this person at the campfire?

If you’re the kind of person who is likable and who likes and helps everyone else, who goes the extra mile and adds value, while not being a pest or interfering then you are desirable. When you uplift others instead of bringing them down people tend to say yes to you.

People will be willing to go further for you and do what you want when you demonstrate you are willing to go first for them. When you support, uplift, are positive, friendly, honest, dependable, loyal they will want you on their team. Don’t gossip or grumble; you win.

You Can Succeed Best And Quickest Helping Others Succeed

On the other hand if you are known as a complainer, someone who gossips; a person who rains on the parade, who can’t or doesn’t do the job any boss, any company has little use for you. You might fool them at first but you won’t fool them for long. Do you get this?

Appreciate yourself. Appreciate others. Appreciate where you are, what you do, and life in general and you get further faster. Acknowledge others and support them. Celebrate their achievements and successes and you will win too. You will move up when you are a valuable person to have around. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Experts Reveal: Why You Win When You Go The Extra Mile

“Don’t you just love it when someone goes out of their way to help you out or do something nice? I mean sure, sometimes the tendency is to not receive a gift because you don’t want to ‘put someone out’ or you don’t want to feel obligated. Still, it is nice, isn’t it?

Of course, it is. When some one does something for you, you appreciate it. When they do something extra special it is even more important and memorable. It has an impact. Remember, what I said a moment ago about being obligated. It stimulates reciprocity.

You want to return the kindness. If you want more people to say yes and become devoted to you or your business then be willing to provide far more value than you ask for in return. Go the extra mile. Demonstrate your ability to give and you will get far more back.

Go The Extra Mile – Just Like At The Top – It Is Never Crowded

Give first and you will get back! There is a caveat. Give to give not to get back. When you are a genuine giver you will get far more back than you can imagine. Be sincere. Give because you want to provide lot’s of value to those around you. You will get known for it.

Give of your respect. Give your attention. Give you kindness. Give your time. Give your yes. Be generous and provide value first for the other person. When you do people naturally want to, and even feel compelled to, reciprocate. They will return your kindness. Get it?

This is why people bring gifts or food or drink to dinner parties they are invited to. It is why a sales person often bring donuts or coffee to their sales calls. It is why they pick up the tab at a business lunch or meeting. They obligate you. You feel compelled to say yes.

People Of Excellence – Go The Extra Mile – To Do What Is Right

You promise to get the tab next time. Researchers call it The Law Of Reciprocity. When you give first people want to give back. They actually do feel compelled. When someone buys you lunch or a movie ticket, they pay for something, what do you want to do?

Return the favor, right? If someone gives you a ride for free you want to pay for gas. When you give first, they want to return it. If you listen well, if you are focused and attentive, people more readily return the same to you. There is a saying, givers get.

Demonstrate their interests are genuinely in your heart and they will place you in theirs. If you give only to get they will know it. Say yes to them and they will say yes to you! You win more bears with honey. Go the extra mile. Provide fabulous value.

Be The Difference – Don’t Just Be  Ordinary – Be Extraordinary

Be the type of person that exemplifies trust, honesty, loyalty, respect, willingness, acceptance and cooperation. You are the message. Who you are and what you do is far more important than what you say. We will discuss more of ‘who you are’ later.

For now, go the extra mile. Will everyone, always, return your kindness? No, but most will. That makes it even more important. You risk not having anyone return anything. This makes you the bigger person. When people know you are sincere it works in your favor.

Don’t try to manipulate. If you are authentic people will respond far better because most will ‘get it’ at a gut level. We are usually far more perceptive than otherwise. Our gut, our first impressions usually are right. Many people listen to theirs. Be a good person.

Stand  Out And Taller Among The Crowd By Going The Extra Mile

You win in the long run when you go beyond the call of duty. Understand this. You up your batting average. There is no absolute guarantee but you should offer one whenever you can. Get it? You win by helping others win. Make them a priority. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Get People To Say Yes To You

“Whether you are in show business, sales, the fields of medicine or law, a parent, child, friend or associate, boss or employee getting more yeses is important. To get people to do what you want make certain you are the kind of person they say yes to most often.

Whatever walk of life you are in people tend to say yes to people they like. Science bears this out. Two research conclusions. People like people who are like themselves. This is where ‘birds of a feather flock together’ is truly applicable. People agree with people similar.

The second finding. People tend to say yes to people they like. It is a given. Will they say no to people they like? Of course, but it is much more likely they will say no to people they do not like. The goal: Make sure the people you influence like you. Become likable. Get it?

You Are Where Your Thoughts Take You  Think Highly Of Others

You become most likable when you are similar to them. I’ll discuss this in another post. It is important! For now, keep these principles in mind. Walk a mile in their shoes! Understand where they are coming from. Truly appreciate them and let them know it. Be empathetic.

Be compassionate. Be easy to like. Be friendly, nice and smile. Show that you like people. If you don’t like people in general, or the person you must communicate with, they will know it. They will sense it at the nonverbal, non-conscious level. They will feel it in their gut.

We are broadcasting who we are, our likes and dislikes constantly, whether we realize it or not. In order to be liked we must be likable. In order to get more yes answers we must be someone people want to say yes to. We need to be able to put others at ease.

You Get What You Focus On – Think Friendship & Cooperation

Help them to feel comfortable. Be likable. Be willing to be likable. Be generous in your friendliness. Demonstrate attention, respect and loyalty. Rex’s Rule is to always go first. If you want someone to like you, like them first. If you want respect, respect first. Get it?

If you want attention give yours first. It works this way. Remember, we are constantly broadcasting who we are and what we value; like or don’t like. You and I pick things up at the gut-level, so do others. Some people may be far more sensitive than you or I.

We can learn to improve this ability to detect and notice, to interact and influence. We can learn to read people better and more readily understand where they are coming from. This helps! The goal is to build bridges. Invite, be open and available. Be easy to say yes to!

What You Think About You Bring About – Be Positive  & Optimistic

Allow people to be themselves. Don’t insist they change for you! Don’t insist anything. Look for commonalty between you. Notice how you are similar. Find the 1% you can agree with 100%. Focus on what you agree on, over and above what you do not agree on.

Build bridges. ‘Make peace not war’ or ‘make love not war’ were famous 1960’s slogans that are useful to adopt. Keep in mind go first. If you want a yes what can you say yes to? If you want someone to give you something what can you give them first?

Nothing is truly free in life. There is always a price in time, energy or money. A simple example: If you want an apple you must pick it or get it somehow. Walk a mile in their shoes. Be empathetic. Be compassionate. Be likable. Be generous. Be willing. Be helpful.

Skill Comes Of Doing – The More We Do The More We Can Do

Demonstrate good communication. Invite don’t insist. Look for the common elements. If you’d walk a mile for a camel (another famous slogan) walk further to get your point across and accepted.  Live with gratitude. Freely express appreciation of and with others.

When you are appreciative of everything it is easier for those around you to be appreciative. Delight, have fun and enjoy. Be willing to change yourself and be flexible and adaptable. You don’t change others you change yourself. It is called self improvement!

This is an incredibly important point to understand. Evolve to be the kind of person people most naturally and easily want to say YES to AND you will get more yes replies. Your life will improve as you develop yourself and your abilities.  More later, meanwhile celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
