There Is Nothing To Fear: Trust In This!

“There seem to be a lot of ‘in name only’ Christians these day. People who spout scripture but whose lives don’t follow scripture. Some ‘cherry pick’ passages to put others down, show others the error of their ways, without realizing they, themselves, come up way short!

I will make a bold statement. If you are a true Christian or Jew, if you believe the Bible or Torah is the inspired word of god, THEN you would be well served to act on it. Claim it. Stand on the promises there within. Live as if you have that word in your heart. Act like it.

If nothing else the 23rd Psalm tells you how the true Christian or Jew lives, believes and acts. Take comfort and stand on the words attributed to David, the king and the other authors of the Psalms. I share this incredible promise with you. Take it to heart. Apply it.

Some won’t like what I say next. Others will love it.

You may or may not believe in god, nor must you to read this blog. There are many ways to describe the mysteries of the universe, source, infinite intelligence, divine mind, and more. I am for you deciding on your own, for I will not tell you what you must believe.

Whether or not you are Christian or Jew this Psalm attributed to David is amazing.

‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.’ The author says god is our unfailing and abundant supply. We shall not want for anything. He will take good care of us as a shepherd does his sheep

‘He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.’ God, or the universe, source whatever you choose, takes care of us in all ways; in every way!

‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.’ There is nothing to fear. Fear no evil for god is with us. He protects, keeps safe, and comforts us. Nothing can harm us in god. Fear not!

‘Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.’ Again, god meets all our needs. Even in the presence of enemies we are safe, abundantly all our needs our met. A banquet in presence of enemies. WOW!

‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.’ God’s goodness will always follow me. So think about this. There is nothing to fear. We can come to no harm. Every need is taken care of. We are comforted and loved.

So, what is it with name only christians who are afraid of others, who claim other’s sin is responsible for downfall? Who blame and accuse and deprive others from living happy, healthy lives, and attempt to prevent them from following their dreams. They hate and are afraid.

Why is it that they take money from them, prevent them from having the care and access to resources they need? These same name only christians allocate money to themselves, health benefits for themselves all while depriving others. They don’t live the Word?

There is nothing to fear, hate, or harm. God takes care of us. Rest in god’s word. Claim the promises and live as god intended you to live. Follow Matthew 22:36-40 When a disciple asked Jesus, ‘Master what is the greatest commandment in the law?’

Jesus said unto him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’ Seems fairly direct. Love god. Love your neighbor.

Do you not get this? If you claim to be a Christian it seems you have your work cut out for you. The rest of us would benefit if we followed these words as well. Love and love some more. Stop the hate. Be filled with love. You are safe with nothing to fear. You are well provided for. There is plenty for all. Love god and love others as you love yourself. Treat everyone well. Be kind. Be generous as god is to you. Celebrate everything!”

“It is amazing how many people whine and complain that the world seems against them, but then they do nothing to make any change. They live as a victim rather than as victor. They’d prefer to follow than lead. What about you? Isn’t it time you take charge of you?

Some claim they want to be a better person. They want to improve but then spend most of their time distracted. They want help but then don’t help themselves. Hey, I know, I did this many years of my life. I wanted change but whined. I didn’t know what to do to get it.

Part of being a better person is being a better communicator. Learn how you can be more impactful, get through blocks preventing understanding and connection. Overcome objections, stop getting no’s and start getting more yeses. Important to you? Take action.

You’ll Lose More Than You Win If You Don’t Know This About Other People!

“Can you quickly and easily create trust, rapport, and gain understanding, while eliminating roadblocks with clients, customers, and important people, in your professional and personal life? Can loved ones, investors, customers, agents, kids and all be influenced?

If yes, then how? This is important. You must get this! If you understand  the importance of the principle I’m sharing it can revolutionize your life and everything you do. I mean that! Alright here is what you, and I, MUST do to succeed wildly! Get this!

You must meet the other person where they’re at! Not where you are. You must speak their language, not just your language! When you communicate with them, HOW they prefer to be communicated with, you win, and so do they. You must be flexible and not limited.

If You Always Do What You Always Did You’ll Get What You Got

You must know MORE than one way of doing things. The difficulty with most sales people and influencers is they sell, and attempt to persuade, how they THINK the other person wants to hear the information. This will have YOU hear ‘NO’, more often than not.

You must adjust FOR them. Do not expect them to adjust for you. You must be adaptable and flexible. You must be smart enough to discover WHY they ACTUALLY buy, and what is important to THEM, and not what you THINK the reasons are. You need to learn theirs!

You need to get curious enough about the other person to do it their way. No one really likes being sold. Do you? If someone is attempting to get you to do something, do you enjoy it? Most probably not, most of the time, BUT, you, and others, enjoy buying things. Get it?

If What You Are Doing Isn’t Working Do Anything Else

If you wanted to sell a Chinese or French speaking only person or client, you’d have to put your presentation into words and terms they understood. You wouldn’t insist they learned your language first, would you? Not if you are smart, but yet, that is what most do.

That is what less than successful people do all the time! They expect others to buy the way they sell. To be successful professionally, or personally, in influencing others, we need to sell the way the other person buys! Get it? Adjust to them, don’t make them adjust to you!

When you learn WHY THEY BUY and adjust your presentation to them, whether it’s you family and friends or professional clients, customers, associates and potential partners, they more easily and readily and completely, can understand the offer you are making.

If It Isn’t Working For Most People They Do It Again Only Louder

When you appeal to why they buy and what is important to them, they can more readily and easily say ‘YES’ to you! Because they can recognize how your offer fits with what is important with them. Get it? You’ll be far more successful when you master this! Seriously!

If you don’t apply this, and continue to do what you have always done, you will continue to hear more ‘nos’ than ‘yeses’. You will fail to convince your family and friends and lose tons of money, leaving it on the table professionally, if you keep doing what isn’t working.

Doing more of that IS the definition of insanity. If you are pleased with the results you get, you can still benefit from learning improved ways of doing things. You can learn, grow and excel even more! If you are unhappy with your results, you must change what you do!

Once They Hear Me How Do I Keep Them Listening?

“Is knowing why they buy, everything you need to know in order to sell more? Yes and no. It ‘s damn close. Nearly everything, BUT what else do you need? Think about it for a second? You need the goods. You need to be able to deliver something OF value. Understand this!

You want repeat business! You want to sell your film, the real estate, the electronics, the make-up, the food snacks to repeat customers or consumers. You don’t always want to be looking for new leads. So while you may be able to sell swamp land, you had better not.

Knowing why they buy may make them vulnerable but it doesn’t make them stupid. You burn a potential life long customer and business partner, you hurt yourself, perhaps more, than you ever hurt them. Don’t hurt either. Respect them. Respect  their time!

Speak With Honesty – Think With Sincerity – Act With Integrity

Deliver on your promise. Be exemplary! Have the best product to offer. We all know you think you do already, but DO YOU? This is where the rubber meets the road. Have a product worth buying or investing in. Then offer it to them, the way they want it offered.

Don’t burn them and run. Your reputation will suffer near and far. Be ethical, honest, loyal, reliable, respectful and deliver on your promises. Keep your commitments. Never make excuses or blame. Own up to your mistakes. Take 100% responsibility and THEN…

Then if you do these things AND you take the time to learn why they buy, what their values are, and what they want or need, you can align your product or service with what is important to them. You provide solutions. You help them solve problems. You become a hero.

When You Make A Commitment You Build Hope …

Isn’t that what you want? You want to have them like and appreciate you, your product and service, so much they continue on with you for a lifetime. Plus, they refer you to all their associates and friends. Isn’t this the way to get ahead in business? Stop thinking short term.

Stop thinking I got to kill it this time. Yes, do your best, but develop long term trusting relationships. Your customers, clients and consumers will reciprocate more than you can imagine when you GO FIRST!  Go the extra mile for them. AND unlock why they buy!

Then meet their criteria for purchasing or investing. Meet their criteria for doing what it is you invite them to do. Whether it is with your family and friends and personal matters, or in your professional sphere of influence, meet them where they’re at. Not where you are.

What We Can Learn From The 2017 Academy Awards Show.

“Did you see the Oscars 2017. I enjoyed it. If you missed it you missed a fun show with lot’s of live happenings. I posted to Facebook my list of lessons from this year’s Oscars. I decided to include it here. While written somewhat in jest I do think we can learn a lot to apply.

Here is what we can learn from the 2017 Academy Awards Show. Learn from the Oscar mishap and apply the learning to our everyday lives. I think the example is ripe with more than just a few practices to embrace. I only list a few. Enjoy and transform your situations.

1. Not everything goes as expected. Get over it. Go on with grace.

2. Surprises and shocks, delights and disappointments are part of it.

3. It is an Academy Award show. It is about glamour, friends, talent, and money. Keep in mind it is an Academy Award Show. It is a show!

4. It is an AWARD show. It’s LIVE – real time. If everything and everyone were included it would last longer. There will be omissions. People complain. Enjoy what is there! Lighten up! It’s the Oscars

5. Not everyone likes or cares for the same things. So what? Enjoy.

6. It is a celebration! Keep that in mind. Criticism is an easy out.

7. Mistakes are mistakes. Remember the positive outcome. Learn.

8. Cut everyone some slack. It is what it is. Have fun. It’s Oscars!

9. Don’t rain on other’s parades. It’s an awards show. Celebrate!

10. Rectify mistakes with integrity. Do the right thing quickly. Don’t hesitate! Be willing to lose if you must. Celebrate others who win.

BONUS LESSON: IT IS AN AWARD SHOW!! It’s purpose is recognition and edification. Are there other reasons for it. Yes, so what! Let people come together to pat each other on the back. Why do I repeat so often? SO we remember to keep it in mind! Laugh!

Well that’s it. Have fun. Enjoy life. Offer credit where credit is due. Acknowledge, recognize and edify others around you. Celebrate your success, but be sure to celebrate the success of others. When disappointed accept it with grace and go on. Walk the talk. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Wanting Without Manipulating: How To Create Win/Win Outcomes

“You have wants. Other people have wants. How do you get what you want while they get what they want? This is the big question. Zig Ziglar is famous for saying ‘You can get anything you want if you just help enough people get what they want.’ It is true and it works!

The points to keep in mind are you have your want and others have theirs. If you both can get what you both want, or a significant part of each, then you both can win. If you both win you both are pleased you keep the relationship intact and can both win together again.

Create win/win outcomes that is your goal. First let us reframe a word that is difficult for people. The word is manipulate. There is nothing wrong with manipulation. Manipulation means to move from one place to another. You manipulate your car while driving.

 It’s Not Your Way Or My Way Together Let’s Find The Best Way

It is a less than glorious notion when applied to making people do things they wouldn’t want to do. I agree. If you engineer it so people aren’t served, so the outcome isn’t with their best interest in your heart then it isn’t a good thing. And manipulation can be good.

So let’s not be concerned with the dark aspect of this word as long as your intentions and purpose are to create a positive win for the other.  Just be certain you aren’t deceiving yourself into thinking you are doing it for them when you are really doing it just for yourself.

Be honest and clean with yourself. If you want your child to do homework because ultimately it benefits them you may manipulate them in some positive fashion. You may offer a reward. If it also allows you some relief and quiet time then you both win. Get it?

You Can Be Right And Alone – Or Together In A Good Relationship

You both should win. Your interests are important and so are theirs. The more you can make both parties benefit and be happy the better off you both will be. You will become known as a person of integrity and great value if you act with integrity and provide great value.

If you are pure in your heart and wish and work for the best for everyone you will win. If you give only to get and don’t care how you give or what you give but only want to serve yourself that ultimately reveals itself. You can’t hide true motives for very long. We leak info.

People can read each other. We feel it when something is off. We radiate and broadcast who we are everyday, all day. We can’t hide it. People can attempt to mask it, but eventually they are exposed in some fashion. It will definitely bite you on the ass at sometime.

Conflict Cannot Continue Without Your Participation – Let Go

Develop a genuine giving nature. It will come with practice. Give. Donate your time, energy or money to a worthy cause. Get involved. Little by little, just as with any habit, you will develop a giving muscle. Give happily. No one wants to be forced to give. Give what you can.

Don’t give and regret. Give and celebrate. Tiny steps at first if necessary. Practice negotiation. I am not suggesting you give away the farm when you work together with others. I am stating you need to find areas of agreement where you both are delighted; satisfied.

When it comes to adding value think absolutely knock your socks off customer service! Think wow how can I go above and beyond anyone else and make my customer (or relational partner or friends) fabulously delighted? WOW them and you win them! It is good biz!

 Blessed Are Those Who Can Give Without Remembering …

It is also good practice for family, friends and strangers. Go that extra mile that no one else will. Do it in your job, in all of  your relationships and in all areas of your life and you will benefit. Just do it for them, because you believe they deserve it and you enjoy it.

You deserve to get too. Remember that. You win and they win. They win and you win. That is your purpose for communicating and negotiating. Always leave them better off than before they met with you. And as in show business, ‘Always leave them wanting more!’

Get it. I hope so. Again, a major point. If you, make it a point, to celebrate all the people in your life you will feel much better. Even, and especially the challenging ones. Think, they are there for a reason. They’re there to help you grow and evolve as a person.

… And Blessed Are Those Who Can Take Without Forgetting

It doesn’t have to be true to be useful. It may be a reframe but utilize it for your benefit. Be grateful for the lessons learned. Be grateful for the challenges to grow stronger and wiser. Be grateful for the opportunity. Be grateful and enjoy. Delight and appreciate.

You are better off and move forward as you do. It will help you to create win/wins. Serve yourself and serve others. Then they are more apt to return in kind to you.
