Discover How The Universe Can Provide What You Need!

“The universe and April provides. The weather, where I currently am has dumped on us a lot of snow and ice. We got a number of  inches last night and it continued today. I took my son and girlfriend to the new Star Wars movie, fell asleep through most of it. So did my son.

We grabbed a pizza at the theater restaurant then went back and watched it again. We enjoyed it. Glad the franchise seems to be back on track under the new leadership. These last two installments are quite good.

When we came out of the theater my car was completely frozen over. With my hands I managed to scrape off enough ice from the windshield to make a small hole to see through. We drove a few blocks to a nearby gas station.

Count Your Blessings Not Your Problems – You’ll Change Your Life

wanted to purchase a scrapper and brush. I pumped some gas just because we were there. Instead of using the pump credit card pay outside option I went in to a buy the brush and scraper. I asked a clerk upon walking in where they were. They were out sold out!

I went to pay for the gas. I decided to pay inside instead of at the pump so I could put the scrapper on the card. It appeared we were going to have to try to find another station that still had some.  April, at the cash register, had overheard me ask one of the other clerks.

She said ‘I have an extra one in my car I’ll give it to you’. I said ‘I’ll buy it’. She said you ‘No I will give it to you’. I said, ‘No really, I’ll pay for it.’  She said, ‘ No really, I’ll just give it to you.’  We could have gone on for a couple more minutes like that.

There is Always Something To Be Thankful For – Notice It

BUT at that moment I surrendered to the gift. I said, ‘Thank you very much’.  We walked outside together. She ran through the snow and ice to her car at the far end of the parking area and then back. Handing me the scrapper said ‘Merry Christmas’.

I said, ‘ Wow! Thanks and Merry Christmas to you!’ I cleared the ice and snow from my windows. I took my son’s girlfriend home, him home, then drove home. Took more than an hour with the snow coming down. At home I sent an email to the gas station corporate.

I shared how April went the extra mile, beyond the call of duty, to do something nice for one of their random customers. I thanked the universe. I am blessed.  It was a good thing too. I used it again today numerous times. The snow keeps coming.

Count Your Blessings And Your Entire Life Can Turn Around

A woman friend and I went to the movies caught LaLa Land and really enjoyed that too. Coming out I scraped a lot of my car. Drove home. She borrowed it to clear her car of ice. Then she drove home. I really have a lot to thank April for.

I have a lot to thank the universe for. Little blessings and large. Day in and day out. I love my life and all the wonderful surprises. Things always work out for the best. Be glad. Be happy. Have fun. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Feeling Low Energy? Down and Out? Do This Immediately!

“Are their times when you feel down and out? Would you like to learn how to feel better almost instantly? Did you know that there is something you can do that will help you shift your mindset? Yep! By changing your awareness and focus you can change your mood.

Many years ago during a reflective, meditative time, I realize my feet had carried me for 24 years without my ever thanking them. I immediately began to appreciate how they had carried me through life, through good and bad times, when they were well or injured.

Silly me. Right? I had missed out. How could I have gone so long without acknowledging them. But, I had. I began to list, one after the other,  how my toes had worked together. My soles of the feet. The muscles, bones, joints and cartilage. My skin. Each and everything!

When I Started Counting My Blessings My Life Turned Around

The flood gates soon opened and I was thanking each and every part of me I could think of and name, inside and out. The more I thanked the more incredible I felt. It is a great place to begin feeling better. It is a great place to get in touch with what is important. Embrace it.

Discover how blessed you are. Do it! Become thankful. Make a list. Do it each and everyday. Whenever and where ever you can. Think it, speak it, enjoy it. Feel it! Let the feelings of appreciation rise up in you. It will positively change how you feel for the better.Delight in all of it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Stop Being A Wimp Start Being A Champion

“The very moment you begin to affirm who you are and what you are going to do you leave the victim role behind. When you positively declare, ‘I will make it so’, or ‘I am a powerful creator’ you step into your power. You stop being a wimp and start becoming a champion.

This is only the first step. You learn you are not helpless. You discover YOU CAN do things to make what you want happen. You claim your life, your abilities and your will power and begin to put them into action. You acknowledge your power and move forward.

That first step is incredible. It is life changing. It is magnificent! It is powerful BUT it is not enough. YOU MUST take the second step, and the third step. You will never get to your destination taking only a single step. You must continue on your journey. You must  continue.

Don’t Quit Suffer Now – Live The Rest Of Your Life As A Champion

You must persevere. Once you begin declaring your true power and ability to shape your destiny. Never, ever give up. Adjust, adapt, be flexible, make corrections AND continue. Don’t start the race if you don’t intend to cross the finish line. Keep doing. Keep on affirming.

The first step is life changing. So are all the other steps you will take. Sometimes it will be easy. Sometimes challenges will seem insurmountable. Correct and continue. Keep doing. Keep affirming. Keep declaring and using and wielding your positive power. ‘I am!’

Declare. Make your word the law! Claim your power and your authority and continue onward making positive changes for yourself and others. Make your life and the lives of those around you better. Help make the world a better, more enjoyable, positive place.

A Champion Is Someone Who Gets Up Even When He Can’t

You can do it. Fill you mind with positivity. Fill your heart with gratitude! Make each moment count. Stay optimistic. Know inside, deep inside, you can accomplish your dreams. Be passionate. Be clear. Be certain. Delight all along the way no matter what happens or doesn’t happen. Live fully and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Do You Have Any Clue What You Get To Do?

“I got to make someone very happy today. I’d like to share it with you and something wonderful I learned. It will be quite short but I think important. I got to watch someone light up and have a dream come true. I got to be part of that and it is marvelous. Herein is the secret.

I helped a loved one buy her first new car. A 2017. A car she wanted. She came to me and asked if I’d help or co-sign if needed. I told her I’d go and listen but not to expect me to do anything. I’d pay attention but if the deal wasn’t a good one we would walk.

I went and I listened. I was prepared to say no. The deal, everything was fine. Still, my mind was set. No car. Then it occurred to me that in this I was saying, ‘no car’. I was focused on what I would not do. I was focused on not letting it happen. This isn’t how I live my life.

Let Go Of Negativity – Allow And Accept Positivity – Say Yes

Yet, that is what I was doing. It felt heavy. I then thought, I am here for a reason. I get to help someone fulfill her dream. I get to help her buy a car. I get to be here at that moment and witness her thrill and happiness. I get to…  and this moment was magical for me too.

Instead, of focusing on what I didn’t want or wasn’t going to do I switched my thinking to how fortunate I am that I get to do something. I get to assist. I made her down payment because I get to do that. I get do make things happen today. I get to celebrate all of it.

In an instant everything felt right. It felt wonderful. Incredible is a better word. It felt congruent. It aligned with my purpose. I get to participate in life. I get to make things happen. I get to be happy too. I get to solve problems. I am blessed and fortunate. I get to…

Let Go Of Who You Thought You Were And Become Who You Are

So often I think we feel burdened. We walk through life just okay. Heck, I get to walk through life. I get to wake up each morning. I get to live. I get to love. I get to enjoy. Even when there are problems that seem insurmountable I get to work through them. I am blessed.

I share this because I think this is an important mindset. We are fortunate. We are lucky. Not in a roll the dice way because I think as a creator we make our own luck and good fortune. We shape our destiny. We purposefully manufacture and also accept and attract.

We allow and permit or fight and resist. I get to do all of it. Whether I do one or the other I feel blissful or suffer. Still, I get to. Do you get it? We are fortunate wherever we are if we consider ourselves so. If we consider ourselves shit out of luck, then we are that as well.

Let Go Of Thoughts That Hold You Back And That Rob Your Power

Our mindset, our attitude, our thoughts and beliefs determine how we experience life. Our habitual thinking determines how we feel and whether life is incredible, so so or a crap storm. Whatever we decide and declare is what we experience. Really, think about that!

I have said no to life plenty of times. There are plenty of times when no may be the right answer. There are also those times we need to say yes. Let go and enjoy.  I got to have that awareness and those moments today. They continue. I am blessed and wanted to share. I get to! You do too! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What They Heck Do You Have To Do To Get Some Coffee Around Here?

“As I am known to do I burn the candle at both ends. I live large and long hours each day. I’ve been traveling a lot lately, busy all day, up late at night, because when day is done I still need to write and publish my blog.

This morning from about 4am on all I wanted was a cup of coffee. BUT…

Being busy I put off making it. Eventually, I decided I needed to get some nourishment so I made some bone broth soup, added some celery, carrot, mushrooms, onion and some spices. Much simpler than I normally would do but I was tired. This was tasty.

A Moment Of Gratitude Makes A Difference In Your Attitude

Back to work. As I was about to make coffee I got called away. Okay, it will wait. I did what I needed to do. I returned home and worked on some other business. I put off the coffee making until later. When I was again about to make it, again I got called away.

I went to pick up my son and take him to a movie. The journey to his mother’s house and the theater took an hour. We got to the theater and expected to see a particular feature. However, that would not start for another 2 hours. None of the movies we wanted would.

The coffee bar in the theater was gone. It had been replaced by a real bar. I needed to buy a ticket, go in and get it from the counter. We decided we would see the only movie NOW playing. ‘Fantastic Beasts’.  It was not a movie I wanted to see but there wasn’t another.

It’s Not Happy People Who Are Thankful …

Got tickets. Went to counter. Got him popcorn and drink. I learned I had to go to another counter to get coffee. I went to that counter. I said, ‘What you need to serve is soup.’ I was told I could order soup back at the bar. I didn’t want to go back over there so I asked for …

Yup, you guessed it. Coffee. I was told none was brewing and I would need to wait. I said, thanks but no thanks, as the movie was starting. We walked off and up the stairs to the big Ultra theater. Found our seats as the movie began. After a short while, I realized I liked it.

The movie was well made. It was engaging. We were enjoying it. Then I noticed someone coming our way. About 20 minutes into the movie this gentleman appeared. He said, ‘here is your coffee’. He also brought cream and sugar in case I wanted that. How’d he find us?

… But Thankful People Who Are Happy

I was completely surprised by this. I said, ‘how much?’ He said, ‘it is on the house’. I said, ‘no, no way I’d like to pay’. He said, ‘enjoy the movie. It is on the house’. He disappeared. I did enjoy the coffee. After all that is what I wanted since before dawn. I was gifted.

I fought getting a free gift. Silly me. Learn to be a gracious receiver. Soon I was thrilled. I was gifted coffee by a stranger. I didn’t expect it. I had given up hope of getting any until I got home or stopped along the way. Now, I had a great, hot cup of coffee, as if I had paid for it.

On the way I out I stopped at the counter and told them I’d like to pay for it. They said, ‘no way.’ They just wanted me to enjoy the show. I asked who the gentleman was who brought it to me. They said, their manager Adam. I asked them to point him out. They did.

Gratitude Opens The Door To Power Wisdom Creativity And More

My son and I went over. He saw us coming and stopped what he was doing. I told him they wouldn’t let me pay. He said, ‘nope, coffee was on the house and they just wanted me to enjoy the movie and my time there’. I told him I did and I was awestruck with their kindness.

We talked for about 10 minutes. His name is Adam. He manages the Majestic Theater in Brookfield. If you go to that theater tell Adam he rocks and that Rex is so pleased. He deserves more business and more kudos. This man went the extra mile in making my day.

For no reason at all other than he could do something nice. WOW! He generously gave. I balked a bit at receiving, but then graciously accepted their kindness and the kindness of the universe. It is little things like this that carry great weight and meaning.

What Are You Grateful For – Express Your Gratitude

Help another have a nice day. It is pretty simple when it gets right down to it. Help others feel better. Pay it forward. Let’s perform more simple, random acts of kindness. On top of it I was struck by how I got my cup of coffee. Not only free but I was SERVED it.

The universe provides! I feel blessed and fortunate. Grateful and delighted. I then got to take my kids and their loved ones to a dinner to celebrate thanksgiving a day before Thanksgiving. It was wonderful. I hope your Thanksgiving is extra special too. Put a smile on someone else’s face and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Do You Have The Winner’s Mind? It’s A Mind Of Certainty

“Being what we want; winners winning. Doing what we want; career of our choice or how we spend our leisure time. Having what we want; riches, home, family and friends; the results stem from the  thoughts and feelings and behaviors we initiate and commit to.

Because we start the process and follow through we reap the rewards. This IS how we sow and reap. We plant the thought seeds nurture them to fruition through positive emotions and actions. We tell positive stories in support and soon enough we harvest.

We powerfully use affirmations and Directed Questions™ to focus our mind on what we want to get our subconscious working on our behalf. We feel strong emotions and desire and imagine having it already in our possession. We live our future right now. We act!

You Can Pretend Anything And Master It

We imagine or visualize what we look like and act like, and what it looks like to have what we want to have, this instant. We ‘Act as If’ it is already ours. We think about it and are grateful for it being present before we actually receive it. We pretend to great effect.

By acting as if we have it with positive emotions and enthusiastic passion, feeling grateful that we got it, we signal our brain that YES this is what we want and will have. We act in a reality which has yet to manifest in present day reality. We rehearse for how it will be.

Then we work to make it happen. We stay open to attract who and what else we might need. We stay open to attract what we want or something even better. Always allow for something better beyond which you imagined to occur. Don’t limit yourself. Dream big.

What You See Is What You Get – What You Say Is What You Get

Napoleon Hill wrote, ‘Whatever the mind of man can conceive, and bring itself to believe, it can achieve.’ This is an important concept. If we can imagine it and then believe we will have it we can get it. We must believe it is not only possible for us but that we WILL have it.

We must believe we are worthy and deserving and entitled to get it. We must believe it is desirable and worth having in order to make it ours. Hill says that a burning desire, a white hot obsession, combined with faith is what makes it all work. Want and know you will have it.

From early ancient writings to present day, leaders in the science of the mind, the law of attraction or manifestation all say the same thing. We would do well to listen and follow their advice. Thought leader Ernest Holmes stated the following and it certainly applies.

We Believe It Has Happened Already – Thoughts Become Things

‘When we treat we do not wish, we know. We do not dream, we state. We do not hope, we accept. we do not pray, we announce. We do not expect something is going to happen, we believe that it has happened already.’ Holmes says, we believe it already has happened.

That IS the state of mind we want to get to. When we get there doors open up in ways we can’t imagine before hand. How do we develop this faith and this ‘knowing’? Hill says through repetition of suggestion, or affirming it with great emotion. Enthusiasm!

He suggests we clarify what we want and write it down. Keep it short and simple. Keep it where we can see it. Read it aloud before bed and first thing in the morning with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. Do it everyday until you firmly believe you will have it.

Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill And Of Habits

Through repetition we inform our non-conscious mind, our subconscious that this IS the case. We already are this; we already do this; we already have this. By constant exposure to the powerful emotions, words and images we give our mind we make it happen.

Our brain is a storehouse of experiences and resources. It is a hot bed of imagination and knowledge, beyond what we know we know. By turing it over to our subconscious through suggesting it to ourselves, Hill calls it autosuggestion, we enlist it’s aid.

Our subconscious is our servant. It is true it operates from habits it learned while we were young. Many which do not support our current desires. So we replace them with these new habits. Then it does those. We rehearse and repeat and finally it gets it. It learns.

Skill Comes Of Doing – The More We Do The More We Can Do

The subconscious or non-conscious aspects of us are really servants to our conscious mind. In going through this procedure we instruct the subconscious what we want. It reliably works to bring it to be. It would be good to learn to trust ourself and our intuitions.

Again, I’ll continue to share more on how this works. When you begin and follow through there will come a time when YOU WILL KNOW it is working. You will know from the inside out. It is an inner process and as things begin to gel, you feel it. It is truly amazing.

You develop that sense of knowing for certain it is happening. Just as you know when your birthday is coming. You know a particular day IS your birthday. That sense of certainty precedes getting what you want. Everything lines up. You feel congruent with it. You are it!

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

One of the best ways to practice acting as if is to express gratitude for what you want, before you have it, as if you already DO have it. Be thankful and excited you got it. Feel truly appreciative for it right now. Delight in it. Enjoy it. Gratitude is the attitude. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Gratitude Is More Than Enough Power For You: Don’t Miss Out!

“I had my topic in mind for today’s blog. Then I thought, I have written about it quite frequently, what else might I want to discuss? As I pondered, I got a message on my Facebook wall, that reinforced my original selection. I was very happy and grateful to receive it.

Here is the comment: ‘It’s always inspiring to see people who are constant living demonstrations of a certain ideal or principle – and you are such a consistent living example of gratitude. I tip my hat to you, sir!’ I appreciate the gentleman for sharing this with me!

Whether or not that is accurate I do attempt to live in gratitude throughout each moment of the day. I do this because I have found tremendous value and power in being grateful. Yes, overall, I am happier and healthier. So, today my topic is, again, gratitude!

It Is Not Happy People Who Are Thankful …

Here is why I was going to write about it today. I posted on my Facebook wall ‘dang, my life has just taken a fabulous turn for the incredible!’ I suppose naturally people were curious. They asked why. I had written it, just because, it is true. I felt wonderful.

Nothing out of the ordinary occurred, There was no new good news. By all accounts it’s just another day but each day IS incredible. As I am always learning if you want miracles expect miracles. If you want blessings, expect blessings! Make happen what you want to happen.

I answered the Facebook comments with, ‘Every day is a blessing.  What you say is what you get. What you focus on expands. Say what you want. Expect miracles and get miracles.’  It  works! Be grateful and you open a door for more of what you are grateful about.

… It Is Thankful People Who Are Happy

Feel wonderful about what  you already have. No matter how little or how much. I have learned to become thrilled over finding a penny! I do stop and celebrate it! Yes, it seems crazy to most people. It is a penny. To the subconscious mind it is money! I just found money!

The brain doesn’t know or care if it is a million or a penny. It only knows how I feel. I feel ecstatic when I find money or any good thing. Then my brain is primed and prompted to look for more. More what? More of whatever I got thrilled about! I get more good as a result.

You get what you focus on! I focus on being excited by little things. I focus on being excited by big things. I focus on feeling glad for moments and declaring them special. Declaring them sacred. I savor the simple, the tiny as well as the big, good news. Every moment!

Gratitude Is The Open Door To Abundance – Be Thankful

Each moment is an opportunity to be thrilled or not. Positive or not. Happy or not. I prefer to live with as much delight as possible. In order to get more good things I have to give more. I feel gratitude and so I discover more to feel grateful about. It fills up my life.

So today, I write again about gratitude. I can’t express enough about it. Do I forget? Sure. Do I get caught up? Sure. Do I lose it at times? Sure. The key is in the return to gratitude. The return to positive thinking. The return muscles is the one I exercise. I build that up.

Find anything and everything you can be thankful for. List it. Enjoy it. Remember why you are grateful. Experience the feelings. Live in these feelings as long and as often as you are able and your life will transform beyond anything you can presently imagine! It will!

Gratitude Is One Of The Most Medicinal Emotions We Can Feel

Find moments! Find memories! Find the time to do it. My first stint with gratitude came during meditation when I was 25 years old and I realized my feet had carried me through life for 25 years. It had never occurred to me, prior to then, to be thankful. It blew me away!

I started thanking my feet and then everything I could about me. It became an immensely incredible and rewarding practice. I would forget, get caught up, and return to many times. I taught it in seminars and shared it around the world. It is a profound experience.

What isn’t profound is the concept. What is profound is when the gratitude grabs hold of you and your entire being swells in appreciation and gladness. When every atom, cell and neuron feels alive and blessed. It is bliss! It is incredible! Live it and declare it!

The More We Do The More We Can Do – Begin Today – Continue

What you say IS what you get! So declare what you want. Make it yours by feeling grateful about it. Find a penny. Celebrate! Shout ‘I am blessed! I always find money! It feels so good! I love finding money! Thank you, Thank You!’ Or something similar. Be happy!

Make it a big deal. Speak more good things into being. Declare it good and it will be good! You attract back what you put out. What you focus expands. Feel grateful. Be grateful. Live in gratitude. More good will come your way. Delight and enjoy!  Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Imagine What You Could Do If You Were God: Try This!

“Do you like to pretend? Actors do. Actors pretend for wages or they pretend for fun. I like to pretend, too. Yes, I am an actor, but beyond that I enjoy pretending. I pretend I am great at things I want to master. I pretend there are answers when there may not be.

I don’t care. I pretend. It helps me navigate the world. I pretend I am god. Yup, god. The big one. Now, I don’t mean no disrespect or nuttin’. I ain’t trying to usurp da big guys role. I just mean I act as if I were god. I think, ‘What would I do?’  What would I have done?’

I pretend I am god and every single person I meet during this lifetime I placed in my life to teach me to be a better me. Every last one of them from the briefest encounter to the most lengthy, unending, excruciatingly painful ones. All of them! I chose just for me. I did!

The Only Difference Between You And God … 

They are a blessing. These people are opportunities to help me grow. Whether through bliss or through challenge I – god – put them there for me to encounter and learn from. Sometimes, I have had incredible struggles with these blessed ones. Do you know why?

Because I am a -god – with an incredible sense of humor. I decided to put all these people there for me to learn and grow from. I put them there as opportunities and blessings. AND then, are YOU ready for this? AND THEN I gave myself amnesia for all of it. I Forgot it all!

So this lifetime I get to discover who I am and why I am here; Who these are people are for me, THEY help me evolve, and help me remember who I actually am. They are here to remind me through a myriad of ways that I am a divine presence pretending to be human.

… You Have Forgotten You Are Divine

I am pretending to be a meat sack of bones with everyday life issues that for some reason I take far too seriously. Why? I don’t know. Perhaps, it is because I can’t yet see the bigger scheme of things because I forgot. I forgot it is all a divine game I am playing. I forgot!

It is my game. I invented it. I added the rules and the players. I create situations and events all designed to help me grow by becoming aware of who I am and what a blessing each of these others are. AND that all circumstances, no matter what, are blessings too.

I like to pretend this because it makes each day much more fun, far less stressful and I learn so much more about me and my place in the world. It helps me create or manifest with glee and attract more cool things into my life. I stop judging and let go far more frequently.

Difficult People Are The Greatest Teachers

It is easier to understand when someone else is ‘MAKING MY LIFE UNBEARABLE!!!’ how it is my projections on their behaviors. Life is, after all, what we make it. What we think about we bring about. I much prefer to pretend that all the ‘bad’ is actually good.

It doesn’t have to be that way in reality but these mind frames make life so much more fun and interesting. They allow me so much room to grow, to fall, to get back up and to remember, ‘hey I am divine’. We all are. We are all made of the same stardust. We are all one species.

The toughest person is my biggest blessing because they inspire me to grow the most. The ones who never let up continue to remind me to grow, grow, grow. That is as long as I remember that I am pretending that is why they are in my life. They are here to help me.

How To Become Aware Of What You Aren’t Aware Of And Why You Must!

“Awareness is the first step in transformation.  Awareness can lead to change. So what is it we become aware of? Ideally, we become aware of our own conditioned mind. We become aware of the chronic ‘less than glorious’ thoughts we think and speak.

Hopefully, we become able to recognize that which limits us and holds us back from being, doing and having what we want. We realize what the prior ‘bad’ conditioning is so we can drop it, move beyond it or change it. What happens if we don’t become aware?

We stay as we are. We don’t know what we don’t know. How could we be aware of what we aren’t aware of? If we don’t realize there is a problem we wouldn’t do anything to make it different, would we? So awareness must be that which precedes changing.

Awareness Precedes Change – Acceptance Follows

This is a bit tricky. How do we become aware of what we aren’t aware of? Somehow, something comes to our attention. If and when it does it presents us the opportunity to examine it and potentially alter it. Just becoming aware of something first might alter it.

If you were in a dark room, no light, and didn’t know there were any doors and windows, but somehow you safely made it over to a wall, you could feel your way around the room until you discovered a door or window you might use to leave from. Right? Get it?

The discovery makes new choices available. Prior to this awareness you might not have any idea you could leave, even though you may have wanted to. Anything is possible and I could belabor this point but I hope I don’t have to. Once we become aware we have choice.

Become Aware Of The Space Between Your Thoughts

We have new choices. When we decide on one of the choices things may alter. When they do, how they do, what they do, prior to choosing is unknown to us. Once we make the choice and act we are accountable for what happens. After all, it was our choice. We acted.

We decided and whatever follows our decision, follows our decision. While we might want to know the consequences in advance of choosing, often we can not. We find out only after the choice is made. If we made the wrong choice we can choose again. Hopefully.

The mirror reflects what it is in front of it. It may not realize that it reflects anything. It misses that it reflects because it has reflected for so long. Reflection is what it automatically does. It is habit for the mirror. It is not conscious or aware that it reflects. It just reflects.

Become Aware Of The Silence Between Your Words

If it could become aware that it automatically reflects, then it might have a choice whether it wanted to continue or not. Does this make sense? It isn’t a perfect analogy, of course. Hopefully, you get where I am going with this. We project. Automatically, we project.

We automatically assign meaning or value or motive to other people’s words and actions. We project our narrative onto their statements and twist them to our ways of thinking without realizing we are doing it. We do this to ourselves as well. We project on us.

We assign reasons and motives to our thoughts, words and actions which, according to research, which I don’t have space to get into here, may not be accurate at all. Reference research and conclusions made in split-brain operations. See Michael Gazzagnia et al.

Become Aware Of The Space Between Musical Notes

We have a narrative that we unconsciously, habitually, automatically, use to assign meaning to our thoughts and behaviors. We may not even realize this. It is too close to us. It is so close! It is our thoughts and our self talk. We just ‘DO IT’ albeit without choice.

IT IS our conditioning AND we can’t see it. We don’t realize what our conditioning IS because we are using it to navigate the world. So we do it repeatedly day in and day out UNTIL that moment we become aware that we WERE and ARE conditioned to think and act in ways.

THEN, possibly, ONCE noticed, we can choose whether to continue or not. Either we drop it or we don’t. OR we attempt to drop it only to discover it isn’t as easy as we hoped because we find ourselves operating from that which we want to change again and again.

Focus On Your Breath – Be Aware When Your Mind Wanders

Get it? We attempt to drop it and break free but it is a deeper, more ingrained, issue than simply changing a shirt that got stained. We try to remove our programming only to find ourselves ‘doing’ our programming again and again. AHHHH the beginning of awareness!

That is what we become aware of. Those times we fall back into our habits and our conditioned patterns. After a while we begin to realize when we are doing ‘the old thing’ yet again. Time after time. It requires practice, this awareness, just as juggling does.

Over and over again we toss balls up. We get so far and then we drop one or more. Again we do it. Again we drop some. It is called practice. Eventually, we drop fewer times and keep balls up in the air longer. Eventually, we get better at it. Then even better and better.

Become Aware When Your Self Talk Is Negative And Stop It …

As long as we continue to practice correctly, we can continue to improve. If we practice the wrong things we won’t get as good of results as we hope for. We will practice and get the wrong things . If we quit at any time we won’t the results we want. We have stopped.

We can practice awareness. We can practice choice. We can get better at it the more experience we have with it. First, we must become aware. That is what we are MOST blind too. That is what we notice least, but when we do, opportunity abounds. It always does!

Opportunity is always there we just aren’t aware of it much of the time because of the blinders we wear. Our blinders ARE the conditioning we live from. Again, we don’t know what we don’t know. We can’t know it. PLUS, what we know may be wrong!

… Gently Change Your Self Talk Into Positive Self Talk

If we think it isn’t we are misguided. If it is correct and we think it isn’t we are also misguided! Accurate thinking is very difficult to achieve because few, if any of us, have been exposed to it, or taught it, or condition to it, growing up. Most of us were conditioned well.

Well, but poorly. We learned limitations and reasons why ‘we can’t’ over reason why we can. We learned to doubt, to fear and to be anxious. We learned to excuse, find reasons and blame ourselves, others and the world for why we aren’t enough. We learned wrong.

We got bad information, without realizing it was bad info, and we continue to live from it 10, 20, 50 years later. Many continue because they never become aware that they were well-programmed with bad info. It is like having a great computer with faulty software.

Notice When You Feel Less Thank Glorious And Change It

Unless, one realize the software is the issue the bugs, glitches or failures continue. The computer doesn’t know it is running faulty or bad software it just runs what it was provided to run. This is similar to most of us. We just run on and on and on the same programs.

Unless, or until we become aware that we don’t have to. Then, we can seek to change it. Perhaps, that moment, of awareness is explosive enough transformation and everything changes in an instant. Perhaps, it is only the beginning of a whole new way.

It may only be the beginning but it may be a powerful one. A small opening can be powerful. A small, tiny degree change in course, can lead to hundreds of thousands of miles difference over time and space. A baby step can lead to monumental change. Its an opening!

Stay Positive – Stay Gentle –  Nurture And Encourage

Become aware! How? That is the question. That is what we will continue to explore in these blog pages. As always, your comments and questions are welcome. Awareness is the beginning, the first step in change. If you want to change awareness is critical.

The second step is acceptance. Future posts will explore these key concepts. Meanwhile, become aware of the power of gratitude. How? Through practice! If it remains only a concept it will remain only a concept. Practice it and you can discover many new things.

Find more and more to be grateful about. Notice it. Notice why you appreciate people, places, things, activities and information in your life.  Write it down. It helps to write things out. List them. Do it daily. Scan you experience, past and present, and discover what is good and new you can feel grateful for. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
