“For you to get a different life in the future you must first be able to conceive of that different better future life. You need to take this important  step toward creating all that you want.

You must FIRST create it on the inside in order to have it on the outside. You create it on the inside now to have it on the outside at another date in the future because, honestly, things just take some time. There is a season for everything.

Shortly, I will discuss exactly how this works, how to create what you want on the inside and what you must do to bring it about in reality

If you want you life to change you have to change some things in your life. If you want a kick ass successful future YOU have to conceive it, create it, bring it to life inside you right NOW in order to accomplish it or bring it about in the future. That is just how it is…

That means you must know what you want. You must be able to imagine that. You must have a purpose, a target, an incredible desire that you want to go after and create.

You have to set your mental machinery in motion and aim it at your future goals. IF you do not know what you want you will drift. You will live without purpose. You will succeed at not succeeding.

Having a definite and major purpose is crucial to your success. Successful people are driven to fulfill their purpose, their reason for being on the planet.  You must know what you are meant to do.

Further more,  Napoleon Hill said, ‘you must believe it’ in order to achieve it. Not only must you be able to conceive your future happening and imagine it as you want it but you must believe that you will be able to bring it into being. That it is yours and that it belongs to you. This future IS your destiny.

If you don’t think something is likely or possible you are not even going to try. So you must believe and know that what you want IS something you can have and will bring about.

You must believe it is yours. You must see it in your mind and believe you will have it. You must expect it to come to pass. Those who enjoy great success never give in to doubt but know they can have anything and everything they want. It is conviction, and a determined attitude.

Will Smith is alleged to have said, “I was always an A-list movie star in my head. You just didn’t know it’. This is precisely what Napoleon Hill meant. The future you want must first exist inside you and you must know it is meant for you and that you will have it, for you to eventually enjoy it.

Those who succeed have this kind of mind set. Whether they were brought up with it or they acquired it on their own through life experience most of those who win definitely expect to win. Their belief in themselves and their abilities to have what they want IS a major reason for their success.

They stay focused on what they want and they do not let challenges or obstacles distract them from making it happen. They keep on going until they get what they seek. They do not quit.

All through my blog I have been discussing how we go about creating this mind set and these behaviors for ourselves. I will continue to give precise steps, procedures, exercises you can do to develop these attributes and characteristics as we proceed in the blog.

There are principles and laws we have to employ in order to become the people we want to become and for us to have what we want in the future.

The successful people are just like you and me but their attitude may be significantly different. We think you must work hard to get ahead. They understand it is not hard work that gets them ahead but working smarter.  Clearly, no one is suggesting that you don’t work toward getting what you want, you must, but it isn’t the work that makes it happen as much as it is what you think and how you think.

Napoleon Hill named his book, Think and Grow Rich because that is what happens. He did not mean you meditate in your room and money will pour from the heavens. He meant the way you use your brain, your mind, you imagination determines your attitudes and feelings, your faith and the opportunities you create. He knew that when you want something passionately and will not stop where most people would, but keep going that ultimately you will prevail.

You literally think yourself to success since everything begins with thought and since we become what we think about most of the time.

How well one uses their mind determines the success one can attain.

So you decide on what you want.

You create it now in order to have it then. You picture it for yourself, you write down your future story that you want told, you create it, tailor it, enhance it, see it, live it inside your head day and night, you spend the bulk of your time there creating what it is you desire the most (while enjoying this present as I have mentioned many times).

You need to understand that you are ALREADY a creator. You have been doing it all along whether or not you have been getting results you intended. You either create what you want, what you don’t want or you create the drifting.

There is no escaping our responsibility in how our lives turn out from moment to moment. People try to shift the responsibility or the blame onto others and circumstances but what we have and don’t have is completely and solely up to each of us alone.

What we need to know and do to get what we want is to shoulder that responsibility and become 100% accountable for what we have or don’t. No more escaping, blaming or accusing. We accept it all without judgement. This is the starting place.

We need to understand that the creative act utilizes all of our mind. The conscious mind sets the course, determines the destination and chooses the end results you want to have. We figure out our purpose and what we want with our conscious mind. We use our conscious mind to instruct and inform the unconscious mind.

Our unconscious mind carries it out.  The unconscious mind is the servo mechanism that runs day and night while you sleep. Consciously, you determine what you want to create. Unconsciously, you manifest it.

I am

Both parts of the mind work together. The conscious mind is like you as the captain of a ship at the wheel. You are in charge. You decide where you want to go.

The unconscious mind is like the rudder, the ship and the power source. You consciously determine where you want to go and steer the ship in that direction using the wheel. The wheel is connected to the the rudder which turns the boat in the direction you want.

The unconscious mind is the vehicle you use to take you there. It works on and on without stopping, it operates under it’s own power. It runs on automatic, it makes the habits and produces the results you want BUT it needs to be told what to do.

For most people, the situation is like this. Most people have been informing their unconscious mind all along what to do without realizing their responsibility in the process. They get unwanted and unintended results and cannot figure out why. They are frustrated, and unhappy a good deal of time, or life is okay but not as good as it could be. For some it is downright unpleasant. The sad fact is that these people do not realize they are making it all happen that way. They don’t realize they are the source of their displeasure. They would change it if they knew how but they don’t.

We bring about the results in our life by our thinking and what we think about most of the time through the day, each day, for weeks and months and years. What we hold in our mind, in our attention, what we focus on is what we get and become whether we realize it or not and whether we wan’t it or don’t.

We become what we think about. The truth is we are always creating because the energy flows where our attention goes.

If we are focused on lack, difficulty, fears and worry we create or we attract more of the same. This is why positive thinking is a critical skill to develop. This is why it is important to understand the laws and principles that govern the process and our part it in all of it.

When we recognize the important role we play in determining how our life goes we can then seek to make it how we want it to be instead of settling for what we caused in the past.

This is important to understand. It is important to act on this information if you want your life to change for the better.

In order to get the results you desire you must communicate clearly and with precision to your unconscious mind so that your unconscious mind knows exactly what to do to bring it about.

You put an end to haphazard and unintended results when you are able to do this.

I will paraphrase the biblical parable of sowing seeds. Some seeds fall on rock and die from the sun, some on harder earth and are eaten by birds and insects, while others fall in fertile, prepared soil and take root and grow.

While seeds can grow without humans it takes the right conditions for some to sprout.  Many die. When humans plant seeds we work to insure the conditions are maximal for optimal growth. There are things we do to bring about the right conditions.

When we plant seeds of creation in our unconscious minds, because the unconscious mind could care less what it grows, we must make sure certain positive conditions are met in order to meet with success and get the results we intend to get. The unconscious mind will grow positive or negative seeds because it doesn’t care. SO we must TAKE CARE to plant ONLY positive seeds if that is what we want returned.

We have to take care and actually do things to make it work for us the way we want. We need to instruct the unconscious mind deliberately and with precision. I have been and will keep returning to this very critical point.

As discussed in previous posts, drifting means not knowing where one is going or changing direction continuously. It means not having a firm fixed destination and a plan for getting there.

Since your unconscious works by precise laws it is important that you give it the precise information you want it to carry out. Plus, you need to provide this information in the manner the unconscious mind is accustomed to getting it.

You need to learn to speak the language of the unconscious mind. For example,  as a native speaker of the language you speak you may have misunderstanding even when communicating with someone who speaks your same language.

BUT you will have no idea what someone is communicating to you if they speak a different language than yours and that is all they use to communicate with you. So speaking the same language is critical.

The same applies to creating what you want and getting those results. You must communicate with your unconscious mind in the language it uses so it can be clear about your instructions and then carry them out.

Poor instructions, misunderstood instructions or no instructions gets you different results than those you intend. Perhaps, this is already the case for you. Now would be the time to change  it don’t you think? If you do not like what you have been creating so far you can change this. Now it is time to create what you want.

Creation is governed by laws on the inside just as we are governed by laws on the outside. As we learn and understand these laws we are able to do incredible things for ourselves.

In nearly all of my posts I have attempted to reinforce this very important fact that we need to know in order to get what we want.

REMEMBER: Our unconscious mind does not make a distinction between wanted or unwanted, good or bad, or right or wrong for you, it just goes where your energy consistently flows. What you focus on is what it attracts and creates.

Whatever you think about most, day and night is what you bring about. If you drift you get certain results. If you are negative mostly, you get certain results. If you are half negative and half positive you get certain results. If you are positive you get certain results.

If you focus on lack or poverty or how things are difficult or impossible, if you are filled with worry or fear you get certain results. Your unconscious mind doesn’t care! It gives you back what you fill it with. Wanted or unwanted is what it returns.

THAT is precisely what a servo mechanism does. It returns to you whatever you program it to do without a consideration for you or judgement. IT simply does what it does.

You may, or may not, want to hear this but the bottom line IS whatever results you are experiencing right now in your life IS because of what you have been feeding your unconscious mind. It is not up to anyone else nor is it up to circumstances it is all up to you.

THAT can suck or it can be incredible news!!! When I recognized this and accepted it IT was an incredible moment. AT the very moment when you finally get that you are creating everything good and bad it means that you can NOW, in that instant, begin to take charge and get the results you have always wanted to have.

When you recognize your role as creator you then step into your power you can change and transform things.

This is the very first step. Recognize your power.

Once you recognize there is a power  such as gravity or electricity, you can then harness it and master it. You can harness and master your creative abilities to have anything you want within reason. This is not magic or fantasy.

You can create the positive you you have always wanted to become. You can feel better and do wonderful things with your life. You can have everything you want and deserve.

Successful People Know These Laws – Why Don’t You?

There are laws that govern the universe and our experience of  it. Humans have discovered these laws and collected them. They explain how things work and they work independent of whether we know them, understand them, believe in them, or appreciate them. It is just the way things are.

For example, there is the law or GRAVITY. We may like it or not,  we may believe in it or not, but we still are subject to it. I am not going into why there is gravity or the motion of the planets, that isn’t part of this discussion.

You know about gravity and how it affects us. If you are in a tree and fall out you fall down not up. No matter what we think about gravity that will be the case. Plain enough to understand, I hope.

There is the law of LIFT (See Newton’s Laws)  which allows us to overcome the effects of gravity so  a plane can take off. Lift depends on other factors, speed and resistance but when those conditions are right the plane can take off and fly, however, the plane is still always subject to the law of gravity. It will fall to the earth when there are certain conditions.  Again, simple enough I hope.

All of the material to make and fly a plane have always existed. Do you realize that? Everything has always been here.

We live in a closed system and there is the principle that energy, hence matter, can neither be created or destroyed. All energy is transformed. Everything has always been and will always be, just perhaps, in a different form.

SO all the metals, the plastics, the rubber, the leather, the glass, other synthetics, we use all existed in their raw state eons ago. We could have made and flown planes thousands of years ago had we known how.

There has been nothing created during this time that did not exist previously. It has always been here. Nothing fell to earth from outside that contributed to our being able to build a plane and fly it. (Some do think differently about this, but I am not going there).

While it is true  that we combined elements to create new combinations of materials (transformations) that came about when we learned how to be able to do that, everything that is available today existed long, long ago in one form or another.

We have always had everything we have ever needed even when we didn’t recognize it or know how to utilize it. Sadly, it is true, that if you are not aware that certain things or conditions exist, then for all practical intents and purposes they don’t exist for you!

EVEN when in fact, they ARE present. It is only you, the human, that is not yet able to take advantage of them and they remain hidden. They remain hidden until the human becomes aware.

If  a rich relative died and left you the world’s classiest most expensive, desirable car but you didn’t know about it you wouldn’t act as the owner of that wonderful vehicle.

You would only act whatever you thought your current state was at the time. Even though it belongs to you and technically is in your possession, IF you don’t know about it you don’t act or utilize it as an owner.

You may even sit around hoping for a better car not knowing you are already in possession of the best car. You can be complaining about your financial condition while sitting on a potential heap of cash.

We only can conceive of that which we able to perceive. If we don’t know it exists as a possibility, if we are unable to conceive of it, if we are unaware, then we function as if it doesn’t exit. Awareness determines how far we may go. Awareness determines our vision.

Electricity  has always been with us. Once we understood we could harness it’s power we began to utilize it and control it. Once we better understood gravity and lift we could work with them.

Once our ‘know how ‘changed we learned to do many things. It may be that it took time for our brains to evolve to be better equipped at thinking, still, the point remains, we must know about it to utilize it.

We could have always utilized gravity and electricity from the beginning of time, all the materials were available in one form or another, but we did not know we could so we did not know how to either.

As our knowledge changed and we learned and understood more we accomplished new things and we transformed our world. We improved conditions in many ways. We made changes in housing, travel, food, communication and improved our overall well fare.

Everything was always present we just didn’t know what to do with it. I understand some people may have to really think and investigate to grasp this concept more easily but DO think about this. Consider what it means.

For a long time we attempted to fly. We tried flapping our arms like birds do their wings, we dove off cliffs trying to soar, only to plummet due to gravity. Later, we discovered we could utilize lighter than air gases and rise into the clouds. Eventually we were able to build engines to give us enough power and combined that power with properly designed wings which gave us lift against the wind. We defeated gravity for a little while.

Actually, we didn’t defeat it we worked with it because without gravity there wouldn’t be lift. The plane rises against the resistance. Once we learned these principles and better understood them we were able to create and do things, we could have always made happen, but didn’t, until the time when we were able.

Consider this as much as possible. Everything we needed to fly has always been available to us. The materials, the laws that govern flight have been with us all along. From the earliest of times we always could have flown but we didn’t until we realized how to use principles and materials to our advantage! I find this amazing to think about!

We have harnessed water power, wind power, electrical power, nuclear power because we learned about the laws that govern us and how to use them to bring about changes.

Once you understand the laws you can master them!

Prior to this understanding we go about however we go about. True or actual change in our life occurs only when the change in our consciousness occurs. It begins with awareness, it begins with our thoughts.

We seek answers or solutions, we look to find the means to accomplish something and once we begin looking we are more apt to find. Some people just never look they merely accept whatever is.

Consider that eons before the chair came about anyone could have built a chair. At some point someone did. Somewhere in human consciousness someone decided, someone thought, there was another way to sit other than on the ground.

Sure, maybe at first they piled some stones, or some sticks, but somewhere along the way the idea evolved in someone’s mind and they actually pictured a chair. They designed it in their head and they made it with their hands.

It didn’t exist until someone thought it into existence. The thought preceded the physical reality.  People do and behave  only what they know and imagine as possible.  If you can’t conceive of a new reality you will never have that new reality or behave that new reality.

I’ll repeat that a bit differently. In order to exist in a new reality you must first be able to conceive of that new reality.

For humans to have a chair or an airplane they first had to conceive of it in their minds. The idea had to be there. They had to discover and recognize certain principles and ideas in order to bring in to being the desired outcomes. If they don’t think or know something is possible or potentially available they will never strive to bring it about.

In order for new things to be brought into existence we must FIRST be able to conceive of them. All human creations begin with thought.

Yes, it is accurate to state that some things are brought about accidentally while looking for or to do something else. There are surprise discoveries. (White Out, Velcro and other innovations apparently occurred accidentally while people were searching for something else).

For us to benefit from these amazing moments when there have been surprise discoveries people still need to be able to recognize  the opportunity that has just been given them. They need to recognize and SEIZE the opportunity.

If they discarded the different (accidental) results because it was not what they intended, without considering other possible uses for it, then the new innovation would never have occurred. This probably happens more frequently than it does not.

Sometimes discoveries have laid dormant until another time when we evolved more, learned more, and our information changed.  Then we were (finally) able to recognize ‘that something’ (that had been there all that while but remained under utilized) as an opportunity or a new benefit.  Until that ‘aha’ moment it existed in an unused form.

Until that ‘aha’ moment even though it all existed we were blind to it. We couldn’t see it or recognize it UNTIL the moment when we could. In that moment, the opportunity for transformation arrived!

We are only aware of what we are aware of at any given time. This is why some people never seem to get ahead while others rocket past them.

Those who succeed in life or career are able to recognize and utilize the opportunities, the materials, the information that others are still blind to. Everyone has access equally but only some are aware of it. It exists for all but only a few utilize it.

Notice it is the ability to recognize and UTILIZE the opportunities.

The First point is to be able to conceive of it. You must have the originating thoughts. The second point that is critical is we must act on this information. (I’ll discuss this further in upcoming posts).

Some people know they want a better future and hope or wish for it. They know what they could or should do to make things better but they just don’t do anything. In order to get the success and the results you want YOU must be ACTIVE in bringing it about.

Napoleon Hill said very accurately, ‘Whatever the mind can conceive and you can believe, you can achieve’. I find this a remarkable, beautiful, simple and and complex concept all at once.

In order for us to achieve something we must first be able to conceive of it.

If we can think it, see it in our mind’s eye and speak it, we can have it.

What we can hold in our head we can hold in our hand. The picture first exists in the artist’s head prior to the canvas.

This is so true! Architects, engineers and others know that they create in the inner space, put it on paper and then countless others work to make it a reality in the physical environment. It ALL begins on the inside.

Those who succeed understand this. Those who don’t think it originates outside of them. They think circumstances or others dictate how life is for them. They don’t run their minds or their lives they let others run those.

This is the difference between someone who is a victor and one who is a  victim. It is the mind set or one’s own thinking that determines which they will be. . This can be the difference between you and someone who is a great success. It sure was for me.

In order to succeed we have to be self determining. We need to use what we have available to make what we want happen. It all begins inside of us. The successful either know this or have had that accidental discovery.

If we aren’t able to conceive of it then how on earth might we achieve it? We won’t unless we accidentally do it just as our other accidental discoveries. Even then,  we must recognize the opportunity OR we will still miss it.

We  must be able to conceive of it to achieve it. Then, we must be able to act on it or it will just remain a piece of information. It will be an awareness with no action behind it.

We think it into being  but not as in science fiction or fantasy tales. We don’t rub a lamp or hope that it will happen for us.

We think it and then we work to accomplish it.

The successful people know and apply the laws of success. The successful people get the laws working for them. This is the big difference between those who accomplish much and those who accomplish little.

It all begins first with our thoughts. This is one of the reasons Henry Ford said, ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t you are right.’

For you to get a different result or outcome you need to FIRST be able to conceive of that different future result.

For you to get a different life in the future you must first be able to conceive of that different better future life. You need to take the FIRST step toward creating the future you want.

You must FIRST create it on the inside in order to have it on the outside. You create it on the inside now to have it on the outside at another date in the future because, honestly, things just take some time. Successful people never use time as an excuse for not making things happen.

If you want you life to change you have to change some things in your life. . If you want a kick ass successful future YOU have to conceive it, create it, bring it to life inside you right NOW in order to accomplish it or bring it about in the future. That is just how it is.

Those who enjoy enduring success travel a little bit in advance of the world. They see it in their mind’s eye, they plan ahead, knowing that it will be a reality sometime soon.

They understand that they have the power to create. They realize it begins with their dominant thoughts and that what they focus on most of the time is critical to their success. They don’t waste their thoughts or their time.

They know they must be positive and precise to create the same kind of results. They know if they are wishy washy they will get wishy washy results.

They take being a creator very seriously and understand the incredible opportunity and responsibility one has as a creator. They live as the captain of their ship, they live life victoriously. Others may not embrace these notions but people who are succeeding most definitely do.

3 Easy Things You Must Do To Succeed!

Perhaps, you have notice that I am suggesting a three pronged approach to getting what you want. One prong is filling your mind with quality positive inspirational material daily. To read, listen, watch material that stimulates you and inspires you toward feeling and thinking better.

This prong includes practicing gratitude and looking for the positive, the good and the new in your daily life and validating these. It means finding the very best thoughts and feelings you can enjoy and promoting more of these as much as you are able through out each moment.

The second prong is actually the most important. It is what you do. It is deciding what you want, writing it down and focusing on it day in and day out. It is infusing this with energy and acting as if it is already the case. It means staying focused on what you want no matter what the current situation may be like.

It is believing you are going to make it happen no matter what. It is using dynamically energized repetition of thought. This is where you lay claim to your future and your keep your thoughts on having this (acting as you already have it in your mind) and reciting what you wrote down day and night. Visualizing the goal in your mind as though you already made it happen.

How we get what we want and become what we want to be is by doing not the mental work and not by the reading and listening.  The reading and listening, the first prong, keeps us inspired and positively charged and enthusiastic.

It is through the mental and verbal repetition of your your goal, through the repeated envisioning of what you want that brings it about. You make it happen by focusing the power of your mind. When you spend the time mentally and physically doing what it takes to get what you want you will manifest those results.

I have mentioned that whenever you discover that you are off course you bring your mind gently back to the positive thoughts you are repeating daily. You stay focused on what you want to create and off what you don’t yet have. Ignore the lack or current results and stay focused on what you will have in the future. Keep your mind targeted on what you want.

I have suggested finding and feeling grateful as much as possible through out the day. I told you about looking for and validating what is good and new. In previous posts I have discussed going first and positively thinking about others they way you want them to think about you.

Each of these pieces are part of the whole and the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. As you do each of these things you will change.

I suggest reading and listening as a good starting place to begin to move forward but it is what you do with what you learn that transforms you. So remember, if you want to get different results you have to do different things. You have to make these positive practices daily practice so that they become a habit.

I mentioned that you visualize clearly what you want and charge it with emotions, feel good about it, shout about it, sing it, dance it, get excited about it so that your unconscious mind (the servo mechanism) works to manifest what you want.

The servo mechanism carries out whatever is emotionally charged whether positive or negative, wanted or unwanted. Whatever is predominant in your mind and being is what you manifest. If your thoughts are primarily negative or doubtful or defeatist that is what you end up creating for yourself. The servo mechanism doesn’t care what it creates. It only creates what you you give it to create.

If you think powerful positive thoughts, if you have a goal that you want more than anything else, something that you must have, and you see it clearly and feel good about it, joyful, happy, determined, and confident then you will manifest it because that is what you keep predominantly in your mind. If you are sometimes positive and sometimes negative you are stuck without much forward movement.

You will travel in whatever direction you are currently embracing. If you want to change you have to change what you are doing. You have to change direction and commit to keep on moving in the new direction.

Some people wonder why it is necessary to do this. Some think it too hard. I say, if you don’t like the result you have in your life you have to do something else to get the results you desire. That is just the way it is. Call it a law. You get back what you put out there. You become what you predominantly think about. You get what you go after.

If you don’t have a purpose, or a target, if you are not committed to the direction you want to travel in you will get haphazard results. You will end up wherever you end up. Liken it to being a drift in a boat. You will go wherever the current takes you.

But if your boat is powered and your course is set, then no matter what the elements do to prevent you, at least you are headed toward the destination you want.

You have to go after what you want repeatedly and stick with it until you get it. That is the law. That is just the way it is. You create what you want using your own power through your own volition and dedication.

It is your choice. Either you do it or you don’t. Whatever you choose is what you get. It is up to you and no one else what you do or what you don’t do to have the ideal life you want to have.

Actions are important however, I am not suggesting working more or working harder at your job or your career. That is not what I am suggesting at all. I am suggesting you work to govern your thoughts and make them work for you. Take charge of your thoughts and your feelings so your actions are in harmony with what you want for yourself. It is working smarter not working harder.

The third prong is belief. It is your faith in yourself and your abilities. When you take charge of your thoughts and energize your feelings and repeat this daily at least twice a day (more is better) you find that you begin to believe even more strongly that you can have this. If you don’t believe it at first (discussed in previous posts) you can develop the belief necessary by the practice or repeating over and over again that you can and will have it.

A goal is a dream with a plan and deadline. When you know what you want and by when, and you take claim of it in your mind and see yourself as if already in possession of it, and you feel fully emotionally charged about that, you are sending powerful messages to your unconscious that this IS yours. As you do these things you will come to believe in it even more. The more YOU are convinced of it the closer you are to making it happen.

Because of media in our culture we know that a lie repeated often enough is substituted as the truth.The military uses this in training troops. You keep telling yourself the same thing over and over again in a super charged way until you believe it. When you believe you deserve it and that you can get it AND when you believe it is yours, it IS yours.

‘What we can conceive and believe we can achieve’, said Napoleon Hill. ‘Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are right’, stated Henry Ford. ‘You become what you think about most of the time’, stated Earl Nightengale. You can be and do and have whatever you want when you believe you can.

Positive thinking means maintain a preponderance of positive thoughts and feeling throughout the day. It does not mean emotionless recitation of platitudes. It means becoming what you want to be. Is it work, yes, but it is worth it.

Think of it as boot camp for your mind. You engage in a training to learn a skill that will reliably transform your life when you apply it.

Start today and commit to the direction you want to move in. Commit to the destination you want and never give up until you arrive.

Make the journey wonderful along the way by finding good and new things each moment and filling your moments with appreciation. Think the highest positive thoughts about everyone.

When you do this you up your vibrations. You up your vibratory rate and you attract like energy. We Get What We Are Focused On – Are You Focused On Success, Or Not?

I am a fan of what I call Power Thinking.

Power Thinking means you take control of the mechanism between your ears and use it to create what you want. You already have been using it but not deliberately or in your own best interests. Most of us just use it quite sloppily and we need to use it with precision instead. When we control our thinking we have power.

People drift because they don’t know what they want. Or half the time the are focused on what they want and then the other half they are focused on what they don’t want. This is like saying, ‘I want to go to NYC’ and moving in that direction only to say ‘actually I want to go to L A’ and moving back toward L A only to say ‘nope NYC’ and then ‘L A’ then NYC and LA then NYC and then L A. Face it none of us would get very far and it might be very frustrating.

This is why we must determine what we must have, what is really important for us in life and have a deadline for when we want it. We focus on what we want in spite of all odds and we keep the faith that we will make it happen. We stick with it. determined to see it through and we will. Sometimes sooner than the deadline sometimes after the deadline but if we don’t stop until we have it our success is guaranteed…’

I absolutely know that if I want a glorious future I must make my present glorious. That is positive thinking. That relies on powerful thinking.

Magical thinking is hoping that in the future, some how, circumstances will change and everything will be better. Magical thinking is putting the power outside of us and into or onto someone or something else for change to occur. I don’t believe in that magic, I believe in me.

If I want a glorious future it begins right now. It begins with what I pay attention to and nurture. I know if I want to be healthy in body I am more likely to experience well being now and in my future when I eat right and maintain healthy habits. If I fill my body with junk and toxins I may have more problems and difficulty. I believe in maintaining nutritious and healthy mental habits too.

Whatever we feed grows. I want to feed myself the healthiest food and healthiest mental food I am able. This is how I am preparing for the future.

When I eat well I expect to be healthier and sure enough I see some results. The same applies to my mental menu. I choose the finest, the healthiest thoughts to ingest, digest and benefit from. I liken my mental regime to maintaining a healthy lifestyle of proper diet and exercise. If you want good physical health you make it happen by what you do. The same applies to our mental and spiritual well being.

Simple enough? Here is an example, consider the tightrope walker.

The tightrope walker is better served by paying attention to what needs to be done and where the walker wants to go. I believe the walker gains confidence in the abilities learned and maintains an attitude of ‘I can’ walk the tightrope.

While falling is a possibility I do not believe the walker would walk out on the rope if the mind was filled with thoughts and fears of walking. The walker maintains a positive focus when on the tightrope just as we should do in life. The positive focus helps us do whatever we need to do to get wherever we want to go.

Surely, wonderful things can and do occur as do the less than glorious. These may go on anyway without my involvement because life happens. I know this. I have decided to design my life and not be bothered with what I am not able to control. I take responsibility for me.

If you are focused on what you want at least you know where you want to go and what you want to have. If that is what you think about,  and see or pay attention to mostly then you have a target to go after. Knowing where you want to arrive at means you can make and work a plan to get there. Knowing when you want to get there is most useful too.

If you think about what you want and then sometimes think you will never have it, you have returned to thinking about lack and you are drifting. You are headed out in both directions and you can’t get to both places at the same time.  You are NYC, L A, NYC… you are doing and undoing. You must be targeted and consistent.

Can we be 100% positive 100% of the time? I don’t know. I live by the statement ‘we get and we become what we think about MOST of the time’. So what are you thinking about most of the time?

What do we mean by most? if it is positive 51 / negative 49 probably you are stuck. If you are  90 / 10 you are probably well on your way with a wonderful life. Do you get it? Where is your thinking MOST of the time?

The good news is you begin by monitoring it. You think positive and then notice you are not so you adjust and return to positive. You steer back to center and the more you think positive and return to positive you develop the habit. Your ration improves by practice (positive repetition) through time. You get better at positive thinking by doing it repeatedly, duh!!!

So results manifest later, down the road. You are creating in darkness and can not see what is out there yet,  but you have initiated the process. NOW is the time to stay with it no matter what. This is why there is so much talk in religious text about faith and maintaining your faith.

Keep the faith while the planted seeds grow. In time, and no one knows how much time, the seeds you planted will be ready for harvest. Then you will be delighted but not surprised. You will not be surprised because you expected this day to come. You declared it so and you helped it come into being. You knew you would get there because you stuck with getting there. No matter what came up to take you off course you corrected and continued to move toward it.

Positive thinking is about knowing what you want and where you want to go in life.

The first step in thinking positive is to set a definite well defined goal that is extremely  important to you.  It should be a goal you are passionate about and want more than anything.

Once you have this goal you are passionate about you  develop and maintain the mindset, the attitude, and the abilities to go after that goal to accomplish it. By staying focused on the positive you are able to get what you want with greater ease, in spite of all challenges or disappointments along the way.

As I have repeated emphasized: Positive thinking means staying the course through all hardships that may arise and never quitting.  You maintain positive thoughts to set a frame of mind to better be able to navigate life. It means keeping your mind set healthy so that you feel well enough and strong enough to handle any challenge. Staying positive is about having a powerful attitude.

When you think positive you feel better. When you feel better you more apt to do better. Positive thinking IS about creating and accomplishing what it is you want.

When you are positive about getting your goal you know it is possible and you expect it to happen. Once you expect it to happen, you know it will happen, you align you thoughts and feelings and actions

Rich Successful People Make This Decision – When Will You?

“I realized I really needed to change my thinking and what I focused on. I now realized and accepted  that I was already responsible for creating my life. I am, was and will always be a creator.

It was no longer a matter of whether I was or was not creating my life I now decided that I was. This decision put me in a place of power. This decision allowed me to declare myself the victor. From this power position I could begin solving my problems and start getting different results!

I clearly recognize my part in creating what I did not want in my life. I began to understand how my thoughts and feelings, my beliefs and attitudes, my actions and lack of them brought about my circumstances good and not so good.

I understood that when I worried and anticipated problems I made life less than glorious. I could see how I caused my own difficulties and got in my own way. I could look back and see how I was responsible for everything I had and did not have.  All of it was because of me.

I saw how I drifted and had not created any master plan for my career or my life.

I loved the past and longed for the good old times but knew nothing about the future. I meditated a lot and wanted to be present, whatever that might be, so I did not bother to plan where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do. Like a cork bobbing on the water I went wherever the current went. I had no actual purpose.

Because I had only hopes and no actual plan for how I wanted the future to unfold I dealt with whatever came my way as I had to. I didn’t know any better way to think or be. Sometimes I was lucky mostly I was not.

When I had money problems I never thought I would resolve them easily I only focused on how I did not have enough at the time. I lived in a poverty consciousness wishing I’d strike it rich but mostly knowing I would not. I was not that lucky.

When I decided to master my fate and place myself in the position of creating what I wanted I recognized that I had been creating what I wanted or what I didn’t want all along!

It became super obvious that it wasn’t a matter of doing anything different really. It wasn’t a matter of becoming or adding anything different to me because I had always been a creator. I already was a creator! I just had really bad taste. I just didn’t know how to get the results I wanted to get yet.

WOW that hit me. I already was a powerful creator AND I was just really good at creating and attracting what I DID NOT WANT. WOW, I mean I was incredible at getting what I did not want. I knew I wanted to change this.

These powerful insights brought me to realize that I COULD change was the direction of my attention. I couldn’t stop the ship on the sea but I could aim it where I wanted to go from this moment on. I now knew that could not stop being a creator or powerful attractor but that I could MORE consciously decide to run and manage the creation process.

I could focus on what I wanted and ignore what I didn’t want! I could create a plan for the future and work that plan. YES! It meant I had to change the way I had been doing things! It meant I had to take control of my attention it and focus it in a different way! IT meant if it was going to be any different now and in the future I had to make it different. If I wanted my life to change I HAD TO CHANGE things in my life.

Once I understood that I was responsible for producing whatever I thought about most of the time I decided to think better thoughts. I made it a point to think in positive ways that served me better and brought me the results I wanted to have.

I let go of the past and focused on making the present and the future delightful and wonderful. I focused on abundance and prosperity instead of on lacking resources. I took control of my thinking processes and whenever I found myself slipping into old unproductive ways I steered my thinking back toward the positive.

I began to completely focus on what I wanted and not on what I didn’t. I focused on what I could be, what I could feel and what I could do rather than what I couldn’t. It made all the difference in the world. My life instantly began to transform as a result of making that decision.

Here is a key piece to understand. I made that decision not only once and for all on that day and hour but I continue to make it each and every moment.

Life is a process it is not a static thing. Learning to take control of our life and our thinking processes is not something that is static either. It is fluid and dynamic it. We have learned to think in patterned and habitual ways. We have automated ways of being that must be changed if we are going to live differently.

I realized I initiated a process of learning new ways to be and to create new positive habits. This meant sometimes there might be ups and downs, results may come faster or slower at times. Anything was possible yet I was ready willing and able to do whatever it took to master my new learnings and make my new habits serve me. I am still willing and I do whatever it takes to maintain it.

Rich people know how to make their money work for them. They may work hard at first but they get their money working for them so they don’t have to work so hard. In this way they can enjoy what their money brings them.

The rich and successful create, they build and they believe they that deserve the best so they get it. They are action and future oriented. They aim at the target they want and they go after getting it, They keep the positive end result that they want in their minds and don’t worry about what else might not be. They are focused on what they want. You and I can be too!

I adopted this analogy and found it to be an accurate example of the journey I was on. I may have to work hard to manage my thinking process at first but, ultimately, I would make it my servant and get it to work for me instead of against me. I deserve the best as do you!

This is the process I am in and am happy to report it is amazingly more simple than one might think it could be.

Sure it has taken effort. No, it is not instantaneously an all perfect, over and done with event it is a process.

Through all of it I have recognized that if I want it to life to be different or better that I need to change some things I am doing to make it better. It is always only up to me!

I learned the power and necessity of staying focused on what I want and not on the present circumstances regardless of what they are. I look not to the present results but to what I am creating in my mind.

I now know that the focus needs to be on the inside with what I want to create and not on the outside present results. What comes about in the real world does so by the act of creating it and NOT by looking at what isn’t present yet and feeling disappointed.

It requires conviction and faith to know that, no matter what may be going on, the good things you are creating are set in motion and coming your way even if you are unable to see any evidence of it yet. This IS because we get what we focus on. What we focus on really does expand.

I continue to learn this each day. I stay focused on being thankful and I continue to learn the importance of perseverance, gratitude and enthusiasm.

I have learned that whatever you say you have is what you have. I have learned if you can hold it in your head you can hold it in your hand. Whatever you focus on you do become.

I am so delighted I discovered this for myself I can’t even adequately express it. Life has become a more marvelous adventure than I could have ever hoped for. I live by the mottos ‘if it is to be it is up to me’, and ‘we become what we think about most of the time’.

What Successful People Do That You Don’t! How The Successful Move Ahead.

“Your brain does whatever it learned to do. That is what a servo mechanism (remember this term from earlier posts) does. It carries out the program.

Whatever you  filled your brain with while you grew up, whatever your predominant thoughts are (remember we think 60,000 thoughts a day and most of them similar to those we thought yesterday) is what the servo mechanism produces.

If your thoughts are positive, if you plant positive seeds, you get back positive results. If your thoughts are negative, if you plant negative seeds then that is what you reap. Whether you do it deliberately and with conscious control or whether it is just whatever you normally have done, all of your life, you get back whatever your dominant thoughts are. Your servo mechanism, your unconscious mind, takes whatever you have given it and produces the results you get in life.

Good or bad it is up to you.

Now here is a very important concept to understand and appreciate so that you don’t wallow in self blame. Whatever you did, whatever you got, wherever you are now, is the result of the only choices that you could make because you didn’t know any different at the time. You did what you knew to do. There is no shame in that.

‘Drifting’ means no choice, it means you exercise no deliberate control. If you don’t decide to run your brain your brain runs you. It does whatever it does. If you don’t determine where you want to go, if you don’t pick your destination, wherever you end up, however you end up there, is where you end up. You are like a ship with no power. You go wherever the current takes you.

This is why most people get haphazard results. They don’t take the time to learn how to take charge of their own thought processes. They don’t design their life or their career.

Oh sure they think about it but sometime positive and sometimes negative. They don’t know what seeds they are planting and they are mixing seeds. They are seeding nice plants, poisonous plants and weeds all at the same time. Half the time they feel okay and the other half of the time they feel poor.  So the results they get are mixed.

When we think powerful, energetically charged positive thoughts, again and again, we activate our servo mechanism to go after and produce those results. It is whatever we hold predominantly in our mind that we get back. We become what we think about most of the time. Are your dominant thoughts positive or negative? Which do you spend more time doing? This definitely matters.

Are you in control or has your brain been running you because you haven’t taken control yet? You need to be in charge to have the life you have always wanted. It is up to you and the choices you make. This is what separates the successful from those who are not.

Those who live happy lives and have marvelous careers, health, wealth and love are those who control their thoughts and feelings and create the results they want. The people who have everything they want in life and who are happy make it happen and rarely luck into it.

The truly successful people design their lives. They make their thoughts, feelings and actions work for them. The aim at their goals and pursue them. They create, they target and they attract what they want.

Anyone can do this! We all are capable but only a few will. Only a handful of people will develop the powers we all have within us. The rest, because they do not know any better and are ignorant of the opportunity, scatter and dissipate their power. They do get results just not what they intend to. They are too busy and too good at creating what they don’t want by not choosing what they do want and going for it.

Everyone has the same power and the same ability, yet only few utilize it well. What about you? Do you want things different? Do you want to have a better life? I sure did and I was great at getting what I didn’t want. If I can change that so can you!

You can get the same results for yourself when you take charge. When you take positive steps, as others have done, to make their life work yours will too. It is always in our hands to determine what our  present and future become.

Success breeds success. It gets easier and easier as you move along. You know what to do to get results and you do it. Challenges are only opportunities for feedback to adjust your plans as you pursue your goals.

This is what the truly successful people know and do. Why not you? Never let the past prevent you from creating, having and enjoying a remarkable present and an outstanding future!

Start and keep making good positive choices for yourself today and you can have everything you have ever wanted. The Number 1 Decision You Must Make To Begin Getting What You Want

Remember this – how you travel  determines how you feel when you arrive at your destination. So make the most of each moment and feel wonderful no matter what is going on.

Can you do this? Yes!!! It can be difficult at first, especially, if you have never tried it before. If you lived all your life as a victim living as a victor will seem strange, unfamiliar and even difficult. You may even seem disoriented for a bit but it will pass.

OR

You could experience a great sigh of relief as you finally take ownership for your life. Yes, it may be difficult at times but it is also absolutely delightful and worth it! You may actually feel relieved, as many do, when they make a positive decision.

You may feel very relieved that you no longer have to live the way you have been. It can be extremely freeing when you no longer have to settle for accepting whatever results you were getting.

When you finally recognize that you are a powerful creator and that you actually have been creating everything in your life all along you open up to incredible opportunity. You begin to fulfill your destiny.

Once you actually accept that you are powerful and that you are always responsible for what you get then you begin to immediately transform everything about you and your life! When you ultimately recognize the role you play in creating your life you may very well embrace it swiftly and easily. After all, you have come into your own.

Not everyone does but they can.  Everyone is different and whatever time it takes for a person to adjust is the time it takes. There is no right or wrong amount of time.

We are not in a competition with anyone else. Some will move slowly others may move at a swifter pace.  It is whatever it is. Accept it, allow it.  Don’t resist it, don’t push.  It is whatever it is.

There is the saying, ‘When the student is ready the teacher appears’. Everyone is becomes ready at different times. Everything happens within certain time frames. ‘There is a season…’

When you decide to create your life, in that very moment, everything can begin to change. There is power in making that decision. You put into motion a very strong cause and for every cause there is an effect.

BUT keep in mind you may not yet see the new effects for a while. Who knows for how long?  What you are currently seeing are the effects of your previous ’causes’ – your previous thoughts.

Again, there is a season for everything so be patient, have fun, and relax while enjoying the positive new thoughts and the new life.

You are always causing you world to be whatever it is. You have ALWAYS been doing this. Always.

YOU have always been doing THIS.

YOU are responsible for whatever your world is like. Whatever you have or don’t have is the result of your ‘unconscious’ efforts or lack of them.

You are either the captain of your ship or a drifter at sea. You are either the victor or the victim.You either create the results you get or your settle for whatever happens to come your way. This is what you must decided.

If you haven’t already at some point you must deliberately chose which one you are. At that very moment liberation happens. In that instant you become free to determine the present and the future you will have.

The difference, now, is that you recognize WHO is in charge.  YOU take responsibility to do whatever positive things you must do to create what ever it is you want. You take control of your thoughts and your feelings.

What People Think That Makes Them Fail – How To Turn It Around For Success

This is perhaps the most difficult aspect about all of this that we must understand.

We must keep the faith and maintain the positive attitude in the face of all of our difficulties. We must not give in to doubt or fear or anger or sadness but we must keep the faith and focus on feeling the best…

This is why steering back to center is so critical! You need to return to your positive focus if and whenever you get off track. Go back and re-read my blog posts if you don’t know what I mean.

I’m going to continue to address critical things people do and don’t do that result in failure. When people want success but don’t know how to become successful they do things that keep them from getting what they want. You need to know what to do and what to change in order to make your dreams come true.

As I have mentioned people get derailed by having unrealistic expectations. They think, ‘Okay I gave it a try it so bring it’ and they expect immediate results. They want everything to change instantly.

We learned to think this way mostly from our conditioning in various media. We are promised incredible results if we take a pill, spend our money, get a new haircut or whatever it is advertisers are trying to promote and sell. We have been led down a path that just does not exist. We are told we can have just about anything without any effort and we can have it right now for a certain amount of money.

So some people think, ‘okay I’ve sowed the seeds’ and now voila’ magically everything is instantaneously changed. They are disappointed when they don’t see immediate results so they discount it, state positive thinking doesn’t work and give up.

Someone said ‘there are no unrealistic goals only unrealistic time frames’. We CAN have anything we want in life in the time it takes to get it. We may get it sooner or later when we work for it but we will get it. It is important to understand everything has a season.

The other big mistake people make is that they are wiling try it (somewhat) but they don’t commit to making it work. They dabble. They dip their toe in the water but never actually dive in. They don’t commit, they don’t take the plunge. They stand on the sidelines, so to speak, but never really play the game. You never get 100% results from less than 100% effort. 50% effort just won’t cut it.

Imagine wanting a fabulously fit muscular body and going into the gym and doing a curl with a dumb bell once. Pretty stupid, right?

You know that you are only going to get muscles by repeatedly lifting on different days over a period of time. You understand that getting fit requires conditioning and that you have to stick with it in order to get AND keep the results.

Muscles grow by repetition and so does our mental muscle.

Every New Year people go into the gym and within a few days or weeks or months later they have given up. They got distracted, it was too difficult, or for whatever reason they give up. Gym membership is one of the biggest areas people waste money. It is not because the membership isn’t valuable but because they don’t use it.

Yes, it hurts to exercise, there is muscle burn so people abandon it. Those who get the body they want work out in spite of this. (It is best to be wise and do things properly when exercising).

Some people try positive thinking and quit because it was difficult at first. You must not quit if you want to succeed. Those who prevail reap the benefits and rewards.

To have success and to get the results you want you must daily do what you need to do to get ahead. You must keep going in the face of all outer OR inner opposition. When life is challenging or when you encounter self doubt or fears YOU must keep at it. Once you give up it is over. Failure is the result of stopping more than anything else.

Everyone of us knows we have to eat three times a day (more or less) each day of the week. We don’t try eating a few times and then claim, ‘well I tried it!’ We never say ‘I will eat for a year and then if I don’t have what I want I will do something else’.

In order to have the benefit we must commit to paying the price we have to pay to get what it is we want. To try something a few times and give up because we didn’t see the immediate benefit is silly.

Another big mistake people make is to set a time frame in which to give it a try. If they don’t get the results or success they want by a certain date or time frame then they quit and do something else.

In show business this occurs frequently. I hear from actors who move to Hollywood or New York say, ‘I’ll give it a year or two’. Or, they say, ‘I always have something to fall back on’ or ‘I need something to fall back on in case I don’t succeed’.

They partially commit but they do not actually commit. This is what so many people do and this is why so few actually succeed. People calculate. They think of what will they do instead in the event it does not work out for them.

WHAT on earth do you think you are creating when you think that?

This is putting your focus on ‘if it doesn’t work out’!!! Your focus is on the wrong part of the equation.

You must think, ‘I will do this and I WILL succeed no matter what’, ‘I can and will make this happen’, ‘It is inevitable that I will get my goals’, ‘I am the kind of person who makes things happen’.

‘If it doesn’t work out’, means that they have not taken control or put themselves in charge of achieving their goals and desires. ‘If it does not work out’,  essentially is the same as saying, ‘if it rains we will do something else’.  Instead of the locus of control being within them to succeed their success is determined from outside of them. Luck or circumstances dictate whether they will make it or not.

You succeed when you live as a victor not a victim. When you are the captain of your ship and not drifting aimlessly. You get where you need to get to by doing what it takes to get their regardless of the odds or the difficulty.

You must think about accomplishing it and not about what to do in case you don’t. The person who wins the race is the one who finishes the race no matter how long it takes.

Think how ridiculous it would be to state, ‘I will run the race for a few minutes but if I don’t win in that time frame I will do something else.’ If you ran half the race but not all of the race you never get to the destination.

This is not rocket science, people. If we want to get certain results then we must do whatever it takes (legally, honestly, ethically) to get those results. We can’t be half assed in any fashion.

You only get that fantastic body by doing what it takes for as long as it takes. Once you have arrived you must continue to do what it takes to maintain that body. You would never say, ‘I’ll work out for a year and if I don’t get results I will stop’.

First off, you know that IF you did work out for a year YOU WOULD get results.  They are not immediate but they come with repeated effort through time. You might work out harder but you can’t rush the results you get.  So you stick with it for the time it takes to get them.

Someone said, ‘you can’t get up hill thinking down hill thoughts’.

You are never 100% if half of your attention is focused on losing, or not having, or not finishing. You can’t win this way except, perhaps, by accident, and that is not likely.  IF you have a fall back plan at least a portion of your mind and energy and being is expecting to have to bail. You have an out, an escape, an excuse.

We BECOME what we think about most often!

If you want to succeed you aim your thoughts and feelings like a laser beam toward what you want to accomplish and then you go about making it happen.

When you totally concentrate and focus your attention 100% on making your dreams a reality you consolidate all your energies and make them work for you.

This is precisely why you revisit  your definite chief purpose, you repeat your affirmations powerfully and you choose to feel the very best every single day. You fill yourself up 100% with what you can and will do to make your dreams come true. You get what you focus on!

You make the inside of you a magnetic powerhouse for creating and attracting all great things! Everything begins with thought!

You become a dynamic attractor and creator because what is inside you that motivates you resonates through and through you. Others can and will see your determination and enthusiasm when you are totally focused.

When you know what you want and are determined to get it you are congruent. Your entire being is set in motion toward making what you want to happen, happen. You are dedicated. committed, determined and persistent. You keep going and never let anything take you from accomplishing your purpose.

Yes, benefits come in time just as that conditioned body shows up eventually.

There is a reason the saying exists ‘winners never quit and quitters never win’. You won’t be a success in your life if you can’t commit to making your life successful.  hose who succeed frequently encounter hardship and sometimes terrible difficulty, but they know what they want and they don’t let temporary challenges get the better of them.

They persist. They know they will succeed, they will make their dreams come true when they continue to work at it. They plan to celebrate their success and ignore their defeats. They expect to win.

They don’t limit themselves with thinking they can always bail if they don’t make it. If you have a fall back position chances are you will fall back. People who make it make it for the simple reason that they are determined to make it and never let anything stand in the way of that. They know what they want and they do what it takes to secure having it.

The smart, wise ones do it with positive enthusiasm and goodwill towards all even when they can’t yet see the results.

Religious texts from all around the world seem to describe this process and the necessity of maintaining your faith when the evidence is not there.

One brief old testament example is the story of David and Goliath. Opposing forces meet, one side has a critical force that will crush the other side. A large imposing giant able to readily kill his enemy. No mortal stands a chance. BUT David secure in his faith challenged and defeated Goliath with a pebble and a sling.

Hey, I don’t care if it is a true story or a fairy tale, what I take away from it is great wisdom. David rushed Goliath he ran head long toward his problem and conquered it. It was his faith, his belief that gave him the strength and the attitude to tackle his problem head on and declare victory prior to engaging with the giant. According to David, God already declared him victorious.

WOW, ‘he rushed the giant’ is a thought I now keep in mind. So many of us run from our doubts and fears and problems. We try to avoid problems and negative feelings and hate them.

David met his problem, declared victory, stood his ground and prevailed. OUTSTANDING! I can at least do something similar in my life. I can begin to believe I can meet challenges and prevail no matter what.

OKAY one more example, JOB! ‘The lord gives and the lord takes away’. His faith is challenged in a test between God and the ungodly. Again, accurate historical description or fairy tale does not matter to me for what I gain from it. He kept his faith no matter what was going on around him. Job stayed true though he was severely challenged.

Alright, I provided two brief examples, there are countless examples in religious and inspirational texts, and I mean countless. Check it out if you want some good reading.

This is why some succeed while others don’t. The ones who make it keep trying until the actually make it. They make their breaks by not giving up. They keep the faith. They expect to win. They trust that if circumstances aren’t yet positive they will be.

If they are in the right in the right place in the right time it is because they hung in there when everyone else left. Those who get the prize finish the race. They maintain a positive powerful attitude. After all, attitude is everything. I will discuss more about this soon.

We cannot and we must not let the present circumstances, if they are less than glorious, get the better of us. There is hope when you focus on what you want and what you can do to change the present to the future.

You can transform the present through your attitude, by being thankful and practicing gratitude, by focusing on the positive thoughts, affirmations and positive questions. Choose the best feelings and steer back to center whenever necessary.

Maintain your faith in things coming that are as yet unseen. Trust that everything will work out even if you don’t presently know how.This is a huge point to understand and put into practice! TRUST THAT EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT and that you will find a way eventually, even if you don’t know how at this moment.

Believe in yourself and maintain you attitude. Focus each day on what you can think and feel and do to make your dreams come true and avoid thinking about what you can’t do, don’t like or what is negative.  Find the good and new each day to celebrate and your life, your present and your future will transform! It may happen slowly, as already mentioned, but it will transform so hang in their.

Hopefully, what you are beginning to understand is the notion, that patience isn’t merely waiting for things to come to pass, but rather it is how we wait. When we are in the optimum states mentally, physically and spiritually waiting is not the issue because we are enjoying the journey to our destination.

We become what we think about most often. What we focus on we get. We get back what we put out. We reap what we sow. Energy flows where our attention goes. So think and feel and expect the best and you will get more of the same.

“I think of it this way. You never know what you can accomplish until you actually begin working at it. So go as far as you can in your thinking, do as much as you are able, never let a thought stop you, go beyond where you are, because when you do you will discover that you can think and see and do more than you first thought. You can surprise yourself.

I think it is important to revisit concepts. (some of these I have mentioned in previous blog posts). We must fill our minds and hearts with all the good things we want more of. Repetition leads us to developing skills, abilities and talents whether it is playing golf, swimming, learning a musical instrument or positive thinking. It is necessary to practice again and again what you want to master even when it is frustrating or incredibly challenging. By overcoming difficulties we teach ourselves that nothing stands in our way if we will only keep going.

It is easy and it is hard. There is a saying: ‘When the going gets tough the tough get going’ which is very applicable to mastery in any area of our lives. There are many things that side track us. Our present circumstances may be difficult or life may be crumbling around us and instead of paying attention to what we want to have we pay attention to what we don’t want or don’t have.  We get caught up or distracted with other things enjoyable or not. We get busy. We forget. We lose sight of what is important.

Through it all we CAN move steadily ahead if we only REMEMBER to keep moving, even if it’s just a little bit.

It is important, daily, to have a diet of positive mental gratitude and attitude to make it though each day. Revisit and re-read the thoughts and concepts I’ve shared in this blog. Read books, watch inspirational shows and DVD, listen to inspirational audio. Fill your mind and heart with the best. Surround yourself with positive people, form a Mastermind Group to move forward. (We’ll talk more on this another time). Make your lists of people, situations and things you are grateful for each day. Do this so that you can realize that you deserve the best that life has to offer. Be good to yourself. AND remember this applies to others too be good to them, they deserve the best as well.

Keep in mind and dynamically read or repeat your Definite Chief Purpose night and day. Know what you want and by when. Write it down and review it at least twice a day, morning and night. Visualize yourself having already accomplishing your Definite Chief Purpose. See yourself as already having what it is you want. Know that THIS is your destiny.

Energetically repeat your affirmations and your Directed Questions during the day, repeatedly. The more energetically you say (or shout) these the faster they work. Energy begets energy. It is not mindless repeating but active engagement. It is our emotions that operate the mechanism. When we are incredibly alive or terribly angry we are most powerful. We have all that energy impacting our unconscious. Our feelings are what we use to get our unconscious (servo-mechanism) to work for us.

Keep doing it and believe it. You will – once you make it a habit.

Find ways to add delight to yourself and others. Put a smile on someone else’s face. Help them out. You help yourself AND you help yourself get what you want when you help others get what they want. We are interconnected and networked. Help people and they will help you too.

Gift and surprise yourself today. Take time and be generous and treat yourself well. Little things count! After all, after today, it will not be here any longer, it will only be a memory. Use the days you have to make them what you want them to be. Create more positive memories to enjoy.

Walk, move, skip, dance, do a little physical activity every day that makes you feel great. Shake it up!

Fill your mind and heart and being with positive energy and you will transform yourself in amazing ways.

While I was learning (and believe me I still am) I read and I thought about what I was learning and attempted to put it all into practice.

I have mentioned numerous times that ‘we become what we think about.’ I thought, ‘wow cool, I now have a way to gage what I am thinking through out the day. I can think these thoughts and I will become this way, I will attract this.’ It made a huge difference for me when I embraced this concept. I thought – ‘WOW I can become this’. It was awesome! I filled my mind with positive powerful thoughts and kept my mind on these as much as possible every single moment.

Then I had an epiphany.

I realized (and I still do this over and over again) that I am now what I have already thought about. My present IS a result of my past thinking. My life NOW is a direct result of what I thought before. I had become what I thought about most of the time. It was not some far off nebulous concept, but an immediate here and now realization.

MY life and myself was a direct result of what I had been thinking in my life up to that moment. And even now up to this moment as I write this.

Whether this is true in actuality or not does not matter to me. If it were untrue so what? I discovered a concept, a principle, a practice that has allowed me to transform myself and my world for the better. Everything is in flux. All of this IS a process of becoming. It is always changing it is not static. Therefore, I am still in the process of transforming for the better, nothing is finished. It is becoming better and better along the way.

AT THAT moment, – back then, – when it dawned on me that I was creating the life I experienced all along by the thoughts I was thinking – in that moment – I decided to take responsibility for everything I have and for what I don’t have and all that happens to me.  Up to that moment life was something that happened to me.

I made a new decision. I began to view myself as the creator of myself and my world. (Overtime, I got to confront this decision time and time again and see how valuable and powerful it truly is). Again, I am not saying there may not be outside forces, obviously there are, but in order to gain control for myself, I decided the mental attitude I would adopt.

I began to realize that everything IS a result of my perceptions and my attitudes and that  I make myself happy or miserable regardless of what the outside forces bring. The notion ‘if it is to be it is up to me’ began to make more and more sense.

Life became incredible. I began to live as I had never lived before. Things began to happen and opportunities became visible. It was awesome. At the same time, other things did not seem to change very much. Some things certainly seemed frozen as is.

I looked around me and realized there was still much I didn’t like and did not want. It confused me at first, wasn’t I doing everything right? Wasn’t I already feeling great and much more positive? Weren’t some things really much better? Yes, to all of those. Then, why did some things seem to be stuck?

I recognize that few of us transform suddenly, as in the stories of sudden enlightenment. My enlightenment was definitely coming as a series of insights coupled with challenges or opposition. Things seemed great and then not so great. I wondered at first, what was wrong. Then it hit me again!

If any of that was going to change then I was going to have to make it change by making some changes in and for myself. I had learned that whatever we resist persists so the more we fight against what we don’t want, the more we think about what we don’t want the more we get exactly what we don’t want. That is what I had been doing all my life and here I was doing it again. I encountered difficulty or things I didn’t like I fought them, I resented them. I may even have done them reluctantly or begrudgingly.

There were things in my life I just did not want to do. (there may always be) Things like cleaning, accounting, chores, dealing with difficult people, other drivers, etc. and it occurred to me that if I did these while resenting them or filling myself up with how much I disliked them I was creating more of the same bad energy.

I determined to focus on whatever good feelings or thoughts I could muster about these activities.  Sometimes I found it helped to focus on the end result. The task was done and I could relax or celebrate the fact that it was completed.

At this stage, it occurred to me that whatever better thought I could come up with to replace the negative one, even if it was not the most positive thought I could find, this new one was actually better for me and moved me toward what I ultimately wanted. I found a way to move forward.

I didn’t have to be a cheer leader oozing with positivity for doing these tasks. To start the process off all I had to do was to find thoughts that were slightly more positive than what I started with.

Incremental steps toward where you want to go is far superior to no movement whatsoever or wallowing where you are.

This was another big realization for me.

I could navigate back to the positive (steer back to center) by choosing thoughts that were less negative or slightly more positive that the preceding ones. Yes, it meant I had to do some thinking and feeling, it meant I had to do some choosing instead of letting the thoughts and feelings run rampant over me. It meant I determined what I would think and feel, I would be in charge, I would take control instead of letting them control me as they had been doing all along.

Whew! It was a big realization and one I still continue to have to do. Although the process is much easier and more automated. The bottom line, as I write this. I AIN’T DONE yet, I am a work of art in progress. We all are. What happened for me was that now I began to realize it, recognize it and appreciate it.

I think much of life is learning how to get unhooked. We get captured, hooked by people, things, situations, our reactions all the time. Recognizing we bit the hook and getting off the hook is part of learning to be more aware. The more aware we become the more we notice many things. At first, we may notice our shortcomings, where we get stuck and how we get still get stuck again and again. This is blessing waiting to happen OR a curse. We can either celebrate getting hooked and unhooked or we can hate it and blame ourselves for not evolving fast enough. The latter is not a wise use of our time.

Be gentle and realize we will get caught up and that there are disappointments. How we handle at the time is what we do at the time. SO get over it, get over yourself and get on with positive things. Be gentle, accepting and loving of yourself and you will evolve much faster than criticizing yourself. This is a discovery we each make in our own time.

Moving on:

I am talking about two things here. One is the ability to maintain a positive focus.

Yes, choose powerful positive affirmations and potent questions to direct your mind in dynamic ways. Repeat them to yourself through out the day with energy and enthusiasm. Keep chanting them and holding them day and night in your mind until you actually believe them. See in your mind’s eye, visualize yourself as you want to be. Hold onto these images and enjoy them. Feel great about them. Stay positive, confident, powerful, enthusiastic and feeling marvelous!

BUT when you don’t feel fantastic, when you are faced with some unpleasantness, and to feel ecstatic is too large a leap for you – then you can incrementally nudge yourself in that direction by choosing better thoughts than the less than glorious ones you have. If you can’t get to powerfully positive right from the get go inch your way there.

Don’t stop being positive and wallow in self-pity, negativity or blame yourself, instead, find a way to think and feel a little bit better. Take a break, take a walk, do something! This is an area where using Directed Questions is extremely beneficial. (I have discussed this and other things you can do to alter your feelings positively in previous posts. I invite you to go back and reread).

When you do this you steer yourself back to center. You adjust where you are at mentally and physically in order to get back on track. You move step by step in a more positive direction. Even when you only move slightly in the direction of the more positive you are benefiting yourself. You are deciding on the direction you want to travel and this is a good thing!

Do you get that?

We create our experience. If our experience is to change we must first change ourselves. Once we change ourselves we can change our experience. The little things can make a big difference. So be flexible and appreciate it when you make large positive changes AND small positive changes.

The is other important aspect is choosing your destination. Where do you want to end up? What is your overall goal? What is your passion? What is you must have in life? What do you absolutely want?

This is THE larger question.

You can use all of the above approaches to make your life much more incredible at any time. It is useful and absolutely worth it to do so. You can find your experience definitely positively transformed.

To ramp up your evolution then you must chose you destiny. FIRST. (of course, if you already know yours and are working on it, these methods I discuss are extremely valuable in accelerating your accomplishments).

You must figure out what you want to have more than anything else in life. It can be anything. For some people it may be happiness, for others wealth, for another to have a partner or children, or a career or a big house, or little cottage by the lake or a farm. Whatever it is you must figure out what you want in your life. This is what Napoleon Hill would call a ‘definite chief purpose’. You must determine what yours is.

Why is this important? So that you don’t drift. So that you know where you are headed. Imagine this, you pick a vacation destination and a time when you want to get there. Most people can relate to this. You predetermine where you want to go and when.

Once you know where you want to go you can proceed. You know when you want to get there so it would be wise to determine, also in advance, HOW you want to get there.  How you travel is important. You do want to enjoy it don’t you?

Let’s assume you decide to enjoy it along the way, come what may. Whether you take detours or get sidetracked or lost, whether the going is arduous or easy you decided to enjoy it all and stick with it. You utilize everything I have been sharing to make your travel pleasant and positive.

If you don’t quit traveling you will ultimately get to your destination, either sooner, later or right on time but you will get there. As long as you make it a point to get to the destination no matter what happens and as long as you keep going you DO get there. If you stop and give up anywhere along the way you won’t make it. Certainly, this is easy to understand. You must not quit!

Because you know in your mind where you want to end up, all along the way, you will be able to determine whether you are getting closer or further away. You will know if you are off track and when you need to correct the course of travel to get to your destination.

You will know when you have arrived  because you chose where you wanted to end up from the very beginning. You had a plan you worked the plan and you got the results.

This is why it is important to know what you want in life.

The disclaimer is this:  You can have anything you want as long as it doesn’t harm you or someone else in the process. I won’t go into the reasons for this right now but will save that for another time. At this moment simply find a way to get what you want that helps others get what they want and you will be far, far better off.

When it comes to what you want there is no limit. You can have anything your heart desires. The caveat, as someone once said is, ‘there are no unrealistic goals, only unrealistic deadlines’.

Here are a couple of sticking points some people encounter. I know I have.

Some people never allow themselves to think that they deserve the best. Honestly, you do. You do deserve to have the best of everything, be the best you can be and enjoy all the abundance and wonderful things life has to offer. Some people never get around to accepting that for themselves. They think it is only for other people. It isn’t! It is all for you too.

When can you get it? This is sticking point number two. Some people think they can have anything (and they can) but they think it should be right the instant they think about it. They believe in magic. They don’t understand how these things (these laws) work. If you plant a seed you can expect a crop in the reasonable amount of time it takes to get the crop you planted. If you have never made 5 million dollars you still can. You may not do it this year or next but you can do it and you can have it!

I repeat YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN – if you believe that you can and that you will and then you do what is required to make it happen. That is the truth! When your deadline is realistic then you are more apt to keep going because you haven’t set off in fantasy. You are realistic about what it takes for you to get it in a reasonable amount of time. Keep in mind that if you have never done this before you aren’t an expert in what is reasonable but you may guesstimate.

Could you be surprised and get it tomorrow? OF COURSE! Just realize it is not likely. The realistic time frame is important concept to grasp.

Go for all the gusto you can. Claim all you want (and be willing to share) and you can have it IN time. Once you understand this you are further along the path and actually closer to getting it than you may even realize. Thinking magically tends to keep it away.

To Recap: Determine what you want – what you MUST HAVE. Focus on it. Think Positive about it day and night. Use positive thinking to make your day to day experience wonderful. Keep the faith and keep going after it and do not stop. You ultimately will arrive and arrive well. The tools you are using and the habits you are forming as a result guarantee that you will transform your life for the better regardless of what comes down the pike. It is all about what you learn to do and take the time to master.

3. Make your lists of people, situations and things you are grateful for each day. Gratitude List.

4. Allow yourself to go after anything positive you want that benefits you and others. Realize you deserve the best that life has to offer as do others. Be good to yourself. Accept and give yourself permission to be and do and have abundantly.

4. Keep your Definite Chief Purpose. Know what you want by when, have it written down and review it at least twice a day, morning and night. Read or state it with passion and enthusiasm. Visualize yourself having already having your Definite Chief Purpose. See yourself already having what it is you want. Know this is your destiny.

5. Energetically repeat (or shout) your affirmations and your Directed Questions during the day, repeatedly. Keep doing it and believe it. You will once you make it a habit.

6. Find ways to add delight to yourself and others. Put a smile on someone else’s face. Help them out.

11. Persist – never quit. Adjust your plans, be flexible, but keep going You will get there.

12. Practice the Golden Rule – this is about the power to think positive not only for yourself but about others. Think the best. Treat others the way you want to be treated well. Do it even if they don’t do it. Do it first! What you put out there you get back. Like attracts like. Make it a practice to only think thoughts and speak words that bless, heal and prosper yourself and others.

What Are You Not Thinking About Right Now?

When you consider people and things in your life to be grateful for what are you not thinking about that would be good for you if you did? Sometimes we choose the obvious and only go as far as those thoughts readily available. We hit the surface but we don’t go deep. Now, it’s time to dig deeper too. Examine everything. It is time to begin to think thoughts you may have never considered thinking before. So what are you not considering that if you did might make an amazing difference for you?

You don’t know yet, do you? That is because you have to actually stop and think about it.

What are you not thinking about right now? Well, of course there are countless things because we have a limited focus or conscious capacity. Not only that be we think repetitive thoughts along repetitive lines. Researchers tell us we don’t do a lot in the way of generating much new thinking from day to day. We think today much of what we thought about yesterday.

So consider this.

We think of people as geniuses or artists and great creative minds when they are able to think outside the box. We value those who think and create and do those things it never occurred to us to do. We appreciate those who think along lines that we never bother to. We may even revere these individuals.

Using this as an example – what can we begin to do for ourselves that could make an amazing difference? How can we begin to think outside the box and free up our minds to entertain other thought that may be quite beneficial? What can we begin to think about that we might have never ever considered thinking about before?

Well?

You have lived for how many years?  Have you ever thought to appreciate your feet for carrying you through life? Have you ever thought about how your feet and legs have made it possible for you to have traveled everywhere, all over, all along all this time? And you have always hated your toes or how your feet looked or your legs are too short or your calves to thick? Think about this: there may be something about you that you have never liked or thought to appreciate but that is the basis of much of everything you have ever done or accomplished.

What about your hands, your back, your ass your looks or your digestive system? There are so many things about you to appreciate that you may never have thought to.

You may be short or tall or thin or fat, you may be athletic or not, you may have a physical challenge have you ever thought to appreciate this about yourself. If not, why not?

If it never occurred to you – that too is an important point. It demonstrates what I said a moment ago. We think along routine lines and don’t venture out very far. Well, now you can.

Instead of looking at something as a limitation or that ‘thing about yourself you can’t quite accept’ what if you could? What if, instead on not liking it, you began to see it as an aspect of you that opened many alternate doors? What if that thing you didn’t like was actually responsible for many positive other things about you?

Some of us have found aspects of ourselves that are not to our liking. We may have focused on these during our lifetime, and we have let these bother us. We don’t like our nose or our eyes or our teeth? Well, even though we don’t like these what have these very things allowed us to do during our life? What if we didn’t have a nose or a mount or our eyes? How would life be different?

There are those thing about us that we don’t like but to others it does not matter. It is not an issue. Other people don’t think about us the way we do. That might not even notice if we didn’t speak about it. SO if it is not an issue for them why do we make it an issue for ourself?

Not only that but maybe that ‘thing we don’t like about ourself’ is something that they find charming or unique about us.

The point is that we have thought a certain way for so long that we think that is just the way it is. We accept it as gospel or the only way to think about it when, in reality, there may be many other ways to think about it that would be better ways to think. Maybe it could be anything else but we just have never thought about this way.

It may not actually be the way we think it is at all. Maybe it IS otherwise, but how would we know if you only considered it in one fashion.

It may not seem like anything you even want to be thankful about but when you open that possibility up many things can change. If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got. It is not going to change when you keep it the same. BUT we can change it.

If you can change your perspective about what you thought was a limitation, or something you didn’t like about yourself, what else might change for the positive? If you spend less energy maintaining a problem where else might you put that energy. If you free yourself up from having one less problem what positive possibilities might become available.

Perhaps, you can stop it being a limitation and go beyond those thoughts and instead begin to develop a new more powerful and productive mindset. You may not have ever considered this as a possibility until now. Perhaps, you haven’t EVEN now but you could. What would it be like if you began to appreciate things about you that you never ever did before? What if you could take a new different positive perspective about yourself?

I am suggesting you begin to ‘grease the wheel’ to make things much easier for yourself.

Look at those things you appreciate about you and keep appreciating them. Then look for those things that you haven’t yet and begin to appreciate those too!

THEN look for those things you just might never appreciate about yourself and begin to open the door on new thinking that you might otherwise never do.

When you can develop flexibility in this way you will discover many new and exciting things waiting for you. When you can accept and embrace and validate in a positive way those things you considered negative, or less than glorious about you – you make room for many new positive thoughts and feelings and behaviors.

For example, some people have never tried eating certain foods because they didn’t like them as a child. So they have avoided eating them all along. They don’t even want to try eating them. It doesn’t even occur to them unless someone brings it up. BUT, if they would only taste these foods they may discover that they aren’t so bad. Perhaps, the food they have always avoided they may now discover is enjoyable, maybe even desirable. They would never, ever know this unless they are willing to try.

Here is an interesting little tidbit some parents already know. We can educate our taste buds to like things that we don’t presently, by repeated exposure.

Researchers claimed that it takes a dozen or more trials before we are willing to eat a food we don’t like. If we will try it multiple times we get more used to it and can actually begin to like it. In fact, it becomes more likely we will after numerous exposures.

Actually this is true for a number of things. I have mentioned before in other blog pages this process is the same when it comes to thinking in new and positive ways and developing new skills. Repetition opens the door and leads to a positive new habit.

Utilized in reverse it is an approach to de-sensitizing people from what they fear. When a person fears a particular insect or animal or object repeated exposure has been found to eliminate the fear. The feared item is brought into view at a safe distance, the person responds and the item removed. This is repeated until they know and feel that they are safe. Once safe the item is brought closer and the process repeats until eventually they are able to handle the item or do a task or behavior without the limiting feelings. Through repeated exposure they become accustomed to it, or familiar with it, and learn they no longer have to respond in the old unproductive limiting way.

When they no longer are afraid or limited by their feelings they are free to engage in new positive and productive behaviors. They think new thoughts, feel new feelings and do new things as a result. Their energy is released from the problem and it can now flow in new ways.

So you can learn to like new foods or get over fears using a similar targeted approach. You can begin to think new thoughts, feel new better positive feelings and learn new behaviors and skills using repetition in an applied fashion.

Of course, one has to be willing to try.

If one is not willing to try new ways then things remain the same.

If you want your life to change you have to change things in your life. Begin slowly if you must but begin. Look for more things to appreciate about yourself and you will find them. Keep finding ways to value who you are and you will find more and more. You will begin to feel better. The better you feel the more you can do. The more you can do the more you will want to do. It becomes something you look forward to and in time it becomes a natural way to think because you will have developed the habit.

It will never become a habit though if you don’t take the time and make the effort to make it one.

So it is up to you. Take it easy, make it gentle, but do it for yourself. Help yourself discover you true spirit and positive nature. It exists there inside you even if you never thought about it before. Great things exist inside you EVEN if you never thought so before. They do! You are amazing in so many ways and beyond all the ways you may already know. There are aspects about you that are incredible that you may never have noticed. There are all sorts of things about you that you  may never have given yourself credit for. Now, it is time.
