How To Get The Support You Need To Pursue Your Goals!

“Wouldn’t it be nice, when you are pursuing goals, to have some support from the people around you? Actors pursue careers, as do others, that can take years to to manifest. It’d be cool if loved one’s got that. It’d be helpful if someone had your back, right?

No one actually ever makes it alone. Think about it. From the smallest manufacturing to the largest pursuit in life people rely on others to help fulfill aspects of it along the way. We need and rely on others. We have to do it ourself but others ARE involved.

If only we could find like-minded people to work with. Sometimes we do. That is what networking can lead to. We look for others who can assist us. One important aspect that too many people miss about networking is that we should look for people we can assist!

Life Is An Echo – You Get Back What You Send Out

Look for others to support and help out along the way. Lend them a hand. Be there for them. Cheer them on when needed. Pick them up and help dust them off when needed. Inspire and motivate and help them make their dreams come true. Be committed, honest and loyal.

You do it for others. Do it! Too many of us get caught up in ‘OUR’ pursuits and forget about others. If you help others get what they want, if you are sincere and genuine in doing so, you are far more likely to attract and generate the support you need. Get it?

The principle is go first. What ever you want, be it first. Be it for another person. Help them without expecting anything in return. If you do you are far more likely to have people like that enter your network. Keep this in mind. Be there for others.

What You Give You Get – What You See In Others – Exists In You

Birds of a feather flock together. Provide for others whatever you can and others can more readily provide for you. Why does this work? Because others see it. The feel it. They respond to it. Even those not directly involved can tell when a good person is around.

They act and or they refer. You attract the right people to yourself by being the right person first. Don’t pass up this important principle. Don’t miss out on getting some of the greatest help you could ever find. Be there for others. Enjoy being of service. Help with a smile.

Support others and allow others to support you. They will. It may not happen over night. It won’t happen if you have a secret selfish agenda. It won’t last if you take advantage of others BUT it will if you act with integrity and want to see them, and help them succeed.

Own Your Words And Actions – Be Aware What You Put Out There

Give your best, give your all, give of yourself and others can too. Be happy they are moving forward. Be happy when someone around you gets what YOU want. Don’t be envious or resentful. Cheer them on. Attract what you WANT! Don’t create what you do not want!

Be grateful. Have fun. Delight. Appreciate others and what they are going through. Focus on someone besides just yourself, some times. Smile, serve and support. Open yourself to the possibility that others can and will do likewise for you if you allow them to.

Be it! Be willing to receive it! Reflect what you want reflected back. Go first. Be genuine, loving, kind, open, available, honest and trustworthy. Enjoy creating and attracting win/wins. Be positive and encouraging. Support and assist. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What Do You Want Or Need?

“I blog because I have been blessed. I live a perfectly flawed life. I have struggled and had it easy. Everything is as it is. During my life I have learned many approaches, principles and practices that have helped me and that have help thousands of people I shared with.

I am an actor, director and producer. I am a speaker and presenter. I am an agent for change and transformation. The blog is an attempt to make valuable information available to readers world wide. I share what I know in hopes readers share it too.

I have written 850+ consecutive blog posts. My hope is that this blog is both inspiring and useful. My hope is that people read it, use what they learn to make positive changes and share it. My goal is to help as many people as possible by spreading the word. So thank you!

Be Thankful For What You Have Right Now – Feel Blessed

Expert Reveals: Why You Should Go First; What Goes Around Comes Around!

“Today, experiment. Do something you have never done that is safe, positive, beneficial to you and to others. Make sure it is simple and easy enough so that you can and will do it. Don’t complicate things. Think about what you can do that will make things nicer.

I have a suggestion. Try this on if you don’t regularly do it. Be on time. In fact, be slightly early. Show up before you are supposed to by a little bit. Don’t be so early you are rude. If you are in the habit of always being late or making people wait for you change that today.

Here is another. If you are always chronic about being on time and driving your family and friends nuts pressuring them to be there, chill a bit. Relax. Be a moment or two later. Don’t be rudely late but relax just enough to not be so precise. Let go of stress. Ease up.

You Are Your Own – Pilot Choose Your Destination – Make It Nice

If someone always buys you coffee or dinner and you rarely treat others go and treat some friends. Heck, treat strangers. If normally you receive from others, this time, give. Buy coffee, or a meal. Drive instead of letting them drive. Pick up a movie ticket. Something.

Anything! Do something nice for someone before being asked to help. Beat them to it. Delight someone by helping out before they enlist you. Do the dishes, make your bed, sweep the floor, put the toilet seat down, anything that makes it easier for another person.

Once in a while have a service day when you do nice things for others for no reason other than you can and it feels good. Don’t expect anything in return and don’t hold it over another person’s head. You did it. Don’t talk about how you did it for them. Just do it.

What Goes Around Comes Around – Delight And Spread Goodwill 

Put out there the energy you hope to one day get back. Don’t want or expect it from the people you ‘help out’ or are nice to, let them have your gifts for free. No obligation. Just send out positive vibes, friendly, helpful, wonderful, attractive, positive vibes. Enjoy!

What goes around comes around. If not right away, eventually. Be what you want to attract to yourself. Go first. Enjoy people and putting smiles on their faces. Pay it forward. Feel grateful you are able to do this. Bask in the smiles and silently pat yourself on the back for helping to put those there. Celebrate them. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Stop Stopping Yourself And Start Making Your Dreams Come True

“You have a goal or a dream, right? Do you have something that is important you want to make happen. When you accomplish it or attain it you will feel more fulfilled and more complete. It would make you feel really good. Is that correct? Let me ask you this?

What are you waiting for? Why don’t you have it already? Take a moment and really reflect on these questions. Why don’t you already have what you want? Think about and list all the reasons. What you need? what holds you back? Everything you can think of.

Now realize this. Whatever your answer is your mind. That is the ‘reason’, the ‘excuse’ you don’t have it. Legitimate or not that is your conditioned mind coming up with the whys and the why nots regarding your dream. None are really legitimate. All are excuses.

Action Is The Proper Fruit Of Knowledge – Take Action

Don’t criticize yourself now, or me, just understand this. If you really wanted it why don’t you have it, yet? If your answer points outside yourself to circumstances or others or if it points to you those answers are your mental self talk about it.

That is what you ‘think’ the reasons are. Whether they actually are or not is anyone’s guess. Let’s pretend for a second they are not valid. All are B.S. From that frame what do you need to ask yourself to begin getting what you want? What questions do you need to ask?

How about these? What is one thing, large or small, and no matter how small, that I can begin doing today that would get me closer to making my dream come true? What is one action I can take each day that will help me realize my dream sooner?

He Who Waits – Waits 

Who do I have to call, ask or visit? What must I do? What do I need to stop doing in order to begin getting what I want? Examine your  thinking and find baby steps you can take in the right direction that helps you start bringing it about. Then take those small steps.

Whatever you have been waiting for, or whatever your reasons have been, have only delayed you from enjoying your dreams and goals now. Begin to ask yourself those questions and take those small actions, no matter how small, that move you forward. Do it today!

Do something positive today. Take positive, constructive action. Then celebrate. Be grateful. Pat yourself on the back for having ahead and waiting no longer. Continue to ask questions and find those tiny behaviors that move you forward. Action helps!

If You Want To Make Your Dreams Come True Start Now

Waiting does nothing for you. Take those small positive actions now. Ultimately, you will find other things you can do. If you ask of yourself enough, you can find the right people to assist you, and everything you will need AS you move forward. Don’t  worry about how just begin. Don’t delay. While you move celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Get The Upper Hand On Bad Decisions PT 2

“We are discussing how to get past chronic prior bad conditioning, habits, and move into positive new ways of being, freer and more resourceful. This blog is continued from the last. I share a couple approaches from the many participants engage in during workshops.

You can take two vantage points. One is you see yourself in your mental movie. You watch as if you are an actor on the movie screen performing the actions. You watch yourself before and after the trigger. You see yourself, the trigger the stop, calm and continue.

You view YOU behaving resourcefully. In this disassociated way of seeing you can act as a movie director would and make your mental movie screen more compelling by playing with the color, size of image, sound and other elements which contribute to your feelings.

We Are What We Repeatedly Do 

The other way is to see what you would be seeing through your own eyes. You don’t see yourself but you see the world around you. You see the other cars and drivers, the  world from your point of view. You see what you see as you do in everyday life looking forward.

Rehearse success from each vantage point. When you watch yourself going through it you would have the feelings a movie audience member would have watching a character go through the circumstances. Do you understand? You can ask questions of me.

Use comments and I’ll answer as best I can. In the other vantage point, looking through your own eyes, you’d feel how you feel actually going through it. Since it is rehearsal you may not feel all of it but you’d feel what it is like to some degree. Feel it fully.

Break Bad Habits And Make Better Ones

In this process you change what happens when you get triggered to react less than gloriously. In the movie screen version you watch yourself stop and then behave differently. In the through your eyes version you experience the trigger, feel it and alter it. Get it?

The instant you become aware that you are feeling or thinking or behaving less than gloriously you must STOP! Pause and choose to behave differently. Behave as you prefer to behave. In repeating the mental exercise again and again you are rehearsing what you WANT.

Stop mentally rehearsing what you do NOT want. That is how you have been living and getting what you don’t want. Focus on what you DO want. Is it difficult to change the old habit? Of course, habits can be  tough to break at first.

Small Daily Improvements Are The Key To Great Results

To break it you bring awareness to the moment; become aware of what sets it off. It may seem difficult to do at first trying to notice the moment prior to reacting less than gloriously. It is likely you will blow through it many times but keep at it.

Eventually, you will notice sooner. You will get quicker at it. Your awareness will increase and you will be able to slip into that gap and divert the energy. No one can say how soon this will happen so you have to commit to sticking with it. Don’t give up keep at it.

Eventually, you will gain the upper hand. Mastery of anything, any skill, talent, behavior takes application, attention and practice. Repeated, correctly over a long enough period of time is how skills are developed. Even getting angry at traffic is a learned response.

Drop By Drop The Tub Fills – Awareness Is The Key To Change

In this process you learn to bring awareness to the trigger prior to being flooded with neuro-chemicals and impulses. As soon as you are aware of the changes you stop and take that deep breath interrupting the pattern you originally learned.

Interrupt it enough. Divert it with useful behavior you’d prefer to engage in and soon you will have developed new habits. It may take a little time so be patient. The more committed your are to learning the new behaviors the easier and quicker they will take hold.

Appreciate the process. I am sharing one of a number of approaches you can utilize to make changes. As always practice gratitude and positivity.  Fill your life with celebration. Enjoy the process because you can make some powerful changes. Enjoy celebration and celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

How To Get The Upper Hand On Bad Decisions

“Okay, are you ready for some tough love. I know some people won’t like what I am about to say, while others will heartily agree. I think it needs to be said. Some people don’t like to hear things but the bottom line is we don’t know what we don’t know. We can’t.

I may make this two parts. I don’t know, nor can I know, what it is that I don’t know, given my present state of awareness. I can’t connect the dots forward but I can after the fact, go back and see how they lead up to this moment. But I can’t know in advance.

SO whether you want to hear this or not, perhaps you need to. I need to that is for certain. So what is good for the goose is good for the gander, right? I share this because I think it is one of the main reasons people have difficulty in their lives. Ready, here goes.

Good Decisions Come From Experience

If your life is crap it is because you ALREADY, outside of you own awareness, decided it is crap. The decision was made for you, by you, out of old chronic conditioning. Your very own habits determined how you would react. They’ll determine how you react to this blog.

You (we) react before you (we) have any awareness of what was happening. That is how the brain works. It learns to do things and then it does them automatically. Something internal or external triggers a programs and away it goes. It runs on and on.

Until or unless something happens to alter it or stop it, it does what it LEARNED to do.  Habits are wired in. There are good habits and good programs that run a lot of your life. There are other habits many might label less than glorious. Many of these run your life too.

Experience Comes From Bad Decisions – Learn From Everything

For example, getting very mad because traffic is ‘bad’. You don’t have to. Some people don’t, but, you do, (IF you do)  because that is what you’ve always done. Somewhere, at sometime, you reacted that way enough until it became a reliable neural highway in your head.

Chemicals squirt and electric impulses fire off in a particular sequence and voila’ ROAD RAGE! It is reliable. It is automatic. It happens fast. It happens every time. You live with road stress. You’d prefer not to but you haven’t changed it, yet. It is reliable!

If this occurs day and night, to work and back this is NO way to spend your time. It is no way to spend your time in a car. Some people don’t stop there. They recount the story, feeling stressed each time they do, multiple times throughout the day.

You Are Not A Product Of Circumstances But Of Decisions

Some people are worse at this than you are, but many others are far better. They aren’t bothered at all about traffic. They travel to and from places hardly ever getting ruffled for even a little bit. For some others it may be a mild nuisance. Annoying but they let it go.

The only way to change it IS to change it. You have to get inside and make a new decision before the old one fires off.  BUT how on earth can you do that? How do you extinguish the chronic behavior? You have to teach the brain ‘Not That’ but ‘This’ instead.

You have to train your brain to NOT DO THAT but to do this other thing instead. You have to shift from rage to relaxed. HOW? Awareness is the key. Since you can’t stop it before the trigger results in a flood of electro-chemical activity you must catch it.

The Most Important Decision You Make Is To Be In A Good Mood

You must catch it shortly afterwards. The sooner the better. SO you must become sensitized to what sets it off. You must know the trigger. You must know the trigger point. You learn what this is by deciding to change it. That is the first step. You make a decision.

Then you bring awareness to the situation. You begin to plan. ‘When that occurs I’ll do this instead.’ You can really benefit from visualization here. Imagine the situation that sets the sequence off. As you begin to see and feel yourself go into the old behavior, STOP.

Imagine yourself creating a pause. STOP, see yourself take a deep breath. TAKE ONE! Or two or three. Imagine yourself being aware that as it starts you stop it by changing your breathing. Visualize this again and again. You stop, breath and watch yourself shift.

To Change Your Life You Must Change Your Habits

Watch yourself calm down and behave differently. See yourself behave how you want to behave. You stop, calm, and drive normally. You stay calm and relaxed, but attentive and alert to the driving process. You imagine being how you want to be at that moment.

You rehearse the behavior again and again in your mind. There are two perceptual vantage points to take and I have just described one. I’ll describe the other in the next blog. For now you can practice this with any issue you would like to change. Practice on something mild.

It is always wise to choose something that is not to emotionally significant or overpowering at first. Learn the process, get good at it before moving on to more emotionally charged issues. This is wise practice. Take baby steps leading up to bigger change.

Replace Your Negative Thought Habits With Positive Ones

Practice making the changes. Practice your feeling gratitude. Begin and end each day and each practice session looking for this to feel grateful about and express your appreciation for these. Feel it fully and enjoy and delight int he feelings. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Get What You Want: The Law Of Attraction Or Neuroscience Which Is It?

“It doesn’t matter whether you believe the Law Of Attraction to be real or not real. Simply consider it a working principle, like gravity. Whether you accept it or not doesn’t matter. Gravity doesn’t rely on you accepting it for the consequences of it to be real.

I don’t think the Law Of Attraction is some magical law that makes the outer world bend to your will. I think of it as The Law Of Cause And Effect. For every cause there is an effect. The notion of like attracts like is simple, birds of a feather flock together.

I don’t make a big, magical, mystical deal about it. I don’t make a big deal over gravity either. I don’t believe or disbelieve in gravity, I accept it as what is. Perhaps, that IS believing, but I go about my day and let gravity do its thing. It will whether I care or not.

Whether You Think You Can Or Think You Can’t You Are Right

Some may prefer to think of the Law Of Attraction as neuroscience seems to regard it. It is a matter of your perceptions and what you believe. Our outlook, our frame of mind, our neurological filters govern what we experience as reality.

Our brain and senses govern our connection with ‘out there’. This is what connects us to the ‘outer world’. Without our consciousness we don’t experience the outer world. Yes, it may actually exist if we don’t, but who can actually say. Einstein preferred to think it does.

Still, if you are in a coma, you may NOT experience the world as we know it. You may but not remember it, you may experience other things or you may not at all. I don’t think the jury is in on that one yet. Prior to human consciousness no one determines a day good or bad.

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together

No one complained about the weather. That takes weather and a human AND a purpose. If you plan to plant and the weather destroys your seeds one might consider this NOT a good thing. Because you wanted to plant and now you can’t it sucks. That is what humans do.

Humans add a judgement to what is. They add the value. They make it one up or one down when the reality is IT just IS. So people do the same with ‘faith’, and with ‘science’. We judge everything! We judge everything from our own limited perceptual maps and filters.

We, according to ‘neuroscience’, KNOW that we can’t KNOW everything but we act as if we do. We often act as if we ARE the authority and as if what we THINK is the case, is the case. It most probably isn’t but that doesn’t matter to us. We think it is.

Awareness Is Needed For You To Deliberately Change

So neuroscience is all about your neural pathways and perceptions and consciousness or awareness. It looks at our how awareness has evolved through time. Philosophy and religion do too. All of it is our best guesses about the nature of things.

I believe that we have an opportunity to get our brain and mind to work for us instead of seemingly against us. I believe our brain and mind IS important in how we experience the world and the results we get or don’t. I believe it does matter what we think and do.

Without human thought none of our human creations would exist. Thought created this world as we know it, good and bad. None of our buildings, roads, electronics would exist without thought and the ability to carry out plans. These exist because of thinking.

Thought Or Mental Action Precedes All Action 

Thought is a powerful creative force. Some people are free because of their thoughts some are imprisoned. Literally and figuratively. How we go through our daily life is dependent on the daily thoughts we think. Our results stem from our mindset and attitude.

Our feelings and actions, our habits are dependent on what we are thinking. Good thoughts lead to good feelings which lead to good actions and good habits. This pathway leads to good results. Are the results guaranteed? Nope, but they are more likely than not.

If you work at it and never give up you are bound to get further than the person who thinks they can’t or won’t. If you start and keep going  you are bound to get further than the person who never starts regardless of whether you know what your are doing or not.

You Reap What You Sow – What Have You Planted

It’s has everything to do with self alignment. You think and then you do and get back according to your thoughts and actions. Cause and effect, the Law Of Attraction or neuroscience, or pseudoscience you act and reactions occur. You shove and someone shoves back.

Get it?  You don’t have to make it mystical. You can see it happen everyday. You can see thought bring about results in action each moment. All you have to do is look and listen. Watch the people who whine and complain and what they think is preventing them.

Regardless of their answers or assignment of cause, the bottom line is, if they are complaining about not getting, they aren’t getting. It isn’t benefiting them to complain IS IT? Blaming not planting on the weather still means not planting. Until you plant nothing happens.

Don’t Expect Corn If You Plant Beans – You Reap What You Sow

YOU have to do it regardless of what you THINK prevents you. Obviously, I mean this to be about getting the good you desire for yourself and others in honest and legitimate ways. A conscience is still a good thing. More people need to use it.

Your thoughts affect how you  feel and the results you are able to get. It’s not magic but seemingly magical. So whether you believe you connect with the Universe or the Law Of Attraction bestows things on you or that your brain is doing it all doesn’t matter.

Just get your mindset straight and working for you. Think and grow rich as Napoleon Hill said. Think and create. Think and attract. Think and make your good thoughts happen because you are the principle thinker and architect of those thoughts. Do it. No one else will.

You Can Plant Flowers Or Weeds Which Are You Planting

Find or attract like minded people who are interested in making the same thing happen as you are and work together in harmony and precision. That is loosely the basis of a mastermind group. Birds of a feather flock together whether they are thoughts or birds.

Like minded people accomplished great things in this world in spite of experts and others, and their parents, telling them they couldn’t and that they would fail. They triumphed in spite of hardship, bad weather, raging seas, opposing forces and armies.

Most succeeded because they believed they would and because they felt they must. They thought straight into it. They acted their way forward. They let nothing stop them. Whether they believed in god or not they did it. You can too. You can make it happen.

To Get More Good You Must Think More Good And Do More Good

You don’t have to believe the Law Of Attraction is real or not. You don’t have to accept neuroscience. Make it happen because you believe you can make it happen. Then work to do it. If you believe in your purpose and in yourself you can bring it into being.

You can enlist the aid of others if necessary. Most things need others sweat or finances. People need people to move things along. Be nice. Go first if you want others to join you. Treat them well and be a person they can like, trust and be loyal to. Live high standards.

Think your way to success. Aim your thoughts. Manage them and your emotions and you can prevail. Be the Law Of Attraction in action and draw all good things unto you. Believe you can. Believe you can find or create away around any obstacle. Then you will.

Your Thoughts Make It So – Perception Is Everything

Attitude IS everything. Enjoy life to the fullest. Have fun. delight. Make it delicious. All work and no play, you know! Stop and smell the roses. Share your delights with loved ones and others. Be generous not stingy. Feel thankful and blessed and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

I Have To Confess This!

“‘Confession is good for the soul’. Everyone has something they need to disclose. I have to get this off my chest. Not because it is a burden to me, but because it might help many people to understand they are not alone in this. We  all have areas in ourselves that challenge us.

This is my confession. I grew up, longing for the past. I wished I had lived way back ‘when’.  In ancient times. I longed to live in the golden era of Hollywood, too. I looked back and saw glamour as a pirate or as a film star. The past held a deep fascination for me.

As I grew older I longed for the past even more. My good old days. Days gone by. Old friends and passed pets. I cherished the memories. I lived in the present and re-lived the past. As it came time for me to plan for the future I wasn’t very good at it.

Make Peace With The Past – Celebrate And Enjoy The Present 

Of course not, I had little practice. Oh sure, as a child I wanted to be a pirate, a gladiator, a magician, a spy, a detective, a scientist, an astronaut, a movie star. I did have ambitions but I wasn’t actually sure how to fulfill any of them.

As a teen actor and in my early twenties I knew I wanted to act and be a success but I couldn’t imagine what it was like to BE successful.. I wanted to live the celebrity life but couldn’t see it happening. I spent time longing for old Hollywood wishing I hadn’t missed out.

I couldn’t picture myself succeeding. I could more readily picture myself getting hurt, screwing up, and failing, but ‘successful’ that was very difficult. The images were vague and fuzzy. Opaque at best. I was not good at visualizing. To be honest, I sucked being positive.

What Is Ahead May Be Greater Than Anything You Can Imagine

I tried affirmations, creative visualization and never got very far. I abandoned them, then try again later. I wondered what was wrong with me? Why couldn’t I get these things to work? I wondered and lamented at why so many  of my friends were soaring to success?

All around me people became famous and rich,  but I wasn’t. I blamed it on me. I wasn’t tall enough, or good enough, or good looking enough. I thought others were just luckier and I had bad luck, bad timing. If only I had been born into the studio system.

I did workshops and seminars but often felt worse because I felt stuck and broken. I read all the books, I knew all the right info  but couldn’t make it work in my life. I struggled with feeling lost and hopeless. I was angry a lot. Bored, I was incredibly bored.

The Longer You Live In The Past The Less Future You Get To Enjoy

I didn’t know what to do. If you aren’t acting as an actor you aren’t doing anything. The studios didn’t just let you in. Celebrities didn’t help you just because you knew them. A lot of people wanted you for money or sex, or both,  but not for having a star career.

Many took advantage of you in other ways. ‘Work for free you’ll be a big star.’ Lot’s of time feeling down, depressed, angry and abused. It is a rough, tough, pursuit. You hear ‘no’ more than anything. It is easy for some to blame self and others and do drugs or worse to cope.

I don’t share these things because I think they were terrible. Sure, I had it rough. Not as rough as some and rougher than some others. I share them because if I can change my focus from what was to what is and what will be, then anyone can.

In Order For Light To Shine Bright Darkness Must Be Present

If one can change all can change. It is possible! That is what I had to learn. We are capable of transformation and we don’t have to live as we had in our past. Our previous conditioning while difficult to recognize, override and escape is not impossible. It IS possible!

If I can learn to make affirmations and visualization work anyone can. You can! Never say never. For me, it took constant application. Struggle, I gave up. I tried again. I wasn’t smart enough to just keep trying until I was at a point where I couldn’t lose any more.

I’ll share more tomorrow. Whatever your life story is or was you can change it. You, and only you, can make yourself and your life be what you want it to be. Yes, you can! You may have more or you may have less to overcome but you can do it whatever it is. You truly can.

Old Ways Won’t Open New Doors – Change Is Good – Celebrate

Just don’t wait. Begin today if you haven’t already. Decide and commit. It isn’t always easy but it is quite simple. The first step is awareness that you need to or want to change. Next comes the decision and your commitment. Do that everything follows.

Take it step by step. You’ll begin to notice shifts in your thinking and being. Sometimes, the last to change are the results you get. The circumstances, change last, but you change first. Then you can navigate any circumstances. For some, everything changes!

Begin now, right where you are and move forward. Learn to feel and express gratitude and thankfulness because everything in your past brought you to where you are today so you can be who you want to be. Why doesn’t matter. You have wonderful opportunity right now.

All Great Changes Are Preceded By Chaos –  Challenge Is Good

Gratitude opens everything up. When you count your blessings you focus on feeling good and thinking positive. That change right there makes all the difference in the world. Attitude first and all the other changes can follow. So enjoy! Appreciate! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Those Who Belittle Positive Thinking Want To Think Positively But Can’t!

“Because I write this blog and teach seminars and workshops, speak and keynote. I frequently get questions from those wanting to know if the law of attraction or positive thinking works. Sometimes, I get comments from people telling me how neither can work.

It is both sad and fascinating listening or reading their negative thoughts about thinking positive. Many people suffer because they don’t hear what they are thinking and saying. Many people THINK they think positive when they do not. Most of us are like this.

They say and think things such as, ‘it can’t work.’  ‘If it did everyone would be rich’.  ‘I tried it but got nowhere.’ ‘You are blaming the poor for being poor if you say they are responsible for their results.’  On and on. I wonder sometimes, do they not really hear themselves?

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

I wonder IF and WHEN they could actually hear what they are expressing, if they would simply stop, and pay attention to what they are claiming. If they became a bit more aware might they not want to change their thinking to be more useful.

If you don’t want to think positive or you think the Law Of Attraction is crap so be it.  BUT why go out of your way to tell me or others? What is the point?  I know they are not attempting to rain on someone’s parade and they mean no disrespect.

Usually, they are really hoping for an answer that will transform their life. They protest loudly hoping someone will convince them otherwise. Not everyone of them do this, of course. There are those disappointed ones who want company for their misery. Still…

A Change In Awareness Leads To A Change In Perception

I believe, if they would just change their thinking, instead of expecting someone to answer with the right answer, they would be further ahead. I think that many desperately want to be proven wrong on the inside or they wouldn’t make such an issue of it.

Sometimes they write a message like,  ‘you are so unrealistic. you have no idea how hard it is.’ Or ‘You have no idea what I endure.’ Or ‘everybody would be successful if they did what you say’. I do agree with this whole heartedly and most, sadly, don’t do what I say.

Sometimes, I think some tough love is in order. I want to say, ‘Wait let me get out my violin. You have had it tough. You don’t think it would work. Keep doing whatever you are doing then if you think you found the way. Keep on going. No worries.’ Live and let live.

If You Always Do What You Always Did You’ll Get What You Got

Or in the words of Doctor Phil, ‘how’s that working for you?’ Obviously, it isn’t. So they launch into a tirade sometimes.  Sometimes, they are just afraid. Sometimes, they really are asking for the solution. However,  you wouldn’t know it by their actions.

People want change and, yet, are afraid to change. They want their cake and to eat it, too. I understand that, so do I. What I found works for me and countless others so I share it so you can make it work too. If you don’t want to, if you have your own way and path, go for it.

Share your way if it works well. That is fine. We can all get to where we want to get to, successfully, without trampling on others. I like it when every one wins. Yes, I’m aware every one winning isn’t the competitive way of predatory capitalism. It really is not.

Insanity Is Doing The Same Thing And Expecting Different Results

There does’t have to be a loser in this. Everyone can win. There IS enough for everyone to have. Sadly, in the world, it is not distributed for everyone to have. There are those who keep more than their fair share and restrict access for others. Yes, it sucks. It really sucks.

That doesn’t mean, positive thinking and the Law Of Attraction don’t work. It means there are changes we need to make and can work toward. We can positively change the world, person by person, as we focus on solutions to overcome the difficulties people face.

We won’t get their throwing in the towel. We CAN make lots of change being angry and hateful but that won’t necessarily bring us what we want. It might just bring us a whole lot of what we don’t want and what got us into these messes in the first place.

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together – Like Does Attract Like

We might be better off being clear about what we want to do that brings about positive change for ourselves and the world. Be clear and know what we want that takes us further along without harm, without discord and hate. If we want peace, being peaceful is first.

We don’t get peace bullying others. It doesn’t come from hate and name calling. It doesn’t come from limiting other’s access and depleting their resources to benefit us. It doesn’t come from thinking it is hopeless and impossible. It comes from peace!

Our thoughts and our actions determine what we get back. I never claim positive thinking or the Law Of Attraction is magical. I claim it is practical and based in the principle of cause and effect. I am not saying karma will get you either, as some people think it.

Thoughts Lead To Feelings – Feelings Lead To Behaviors

I am saying if we want a  better life for ourselves AND for others then we must do those things that more easily and readily bring it about. Our thoughts and feelings and behaviors ARE important. That is why I share what I share. Yes, others may not agree.

I believe if you want more good put good out there. If you want kindness returned to you be kind first. If you want a happier life manage your thoughts and your feelings. Be happy first. Be filled with gratitude. Live and enjoy. Then you WILL know it! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Don’t Miss Solutions While Focused On Problems

“You’ve gone through some tough times. Tough times are made tough by what we see, hear and think. They are also tough because of what we don’t see, hear and think. We focus on some aspects while entirely missing other aspects.

What we miss could be critical to our success. What we aren’t thinking about or considering MAY be the key to everything else. Yet, we miss it because of where we put our attention. You’ve heard it said, ‘energy flows where attention goes’. It does work that way.

Napoleon Hill had this to say. ‘Every adversity carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit. Pain, failure, setbacks, defeats, losses – misfortunes we must all suffer – are simply part of the human condition. No one wins all the time.’

Difficult Roads Often Lead To Beautiful Destinations

‘Those who succeed are those who do not let adversity stop them. They persevere. They view hardships as tests that permit them to build their strength to even greater dimensions and carry on. Remember this critical point:

Defeat is never the same as failure unless it has been accepted as such.’  I think it is important to embody this quote and take it to heart. Commit it to memory. Persevere. Build your strength to greater dimensions. Carry on. Don’t accept failure. Keep going.

Learn from the lessons. Learn to look for the seed of equivalent or greater benefit in all hardship and difficulty. Don’t miss it! Too many people do. While focused on the problems they miss everything else that could be a solution or opportunity. They focus on the negative.

It Is All In How You Look At It – Believing Is Seeing

Learn to recognize opportunity and benefit even while in the midst of the storm. Problems can be blessings if you view them as such. Consider them opportunities to learn and practice new things. Consider them challenges to test your strength. Accept the tests!

As you do these things you learn how to control your mind and manage your thoughts and feelings. Don’t give up because your feelings are hurt. Don’t quit because you think lousy thoughts. Seek to excel. Find the best and adhere to that. Keep moving forward!

Develop you will and your initiative. Stop making excuses and blaming others or circumstances. If you don’t like the circumstances change your response.  In fact, change circumstances to serve you. Exercise your will. Make things happen. Be courageous and be bold.

Tough Times Don’t Last Tough People Do

Be positive and move forward. Find the good in everything and be glad. Be happy and be grateful. Collect the wins and feel successful. Success breeds success. Happiness  attracts more happiness. Gratitude opens the door for so much more. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
