12 Great Ways To Make Your Dreams Come True

“I think of it this way. You never know what you can accomplish until you actually begin working at it. So go as far as you can in your thinking, do as much as you are able, never let a thought stop you, go beyond where you are, because when you do you will discover that you can think and see and do more than you first thought. You can surprise yourself.

I think it is important to revisit concepts. (some of these I have mentioned in previous blog posts). We must fill our minds and hearts with all the good things we want more of. Repetition leads us to developing skills, abilities and talents whether it is playing golf, swimming, learning a musical instrument or positive thinking. It is necessary to practice again and again what you want to master even when it is frustrating or incredibly challenging. By overcoming difficulties we teach ourselves that nothing stands in our way if we will only keep going.

It is easy and it is hard. There is a saying: ‘When the going gets tough the tough get going’ which is very applicable to mastery in any area of our lives. There are many things that side track us. Our present circumstances may be difficult or life may be crumbling around us and instead of paying attention to what we want to have we pay attention to what we don’t want or don’t have.  We get caught up or distracted with other things enjoyable or not. We get busy. We forget. We lose sight of what is important.

Through it all we CAN move steadily ahead if we only REMEMBER to keep moving, even if it’s just a little bit.

It is important, daily, to have a diet of positive mental gratitude and attitude to make it though each day. Revisit and re-read the thoughts and concepts I’ve shared in this blog. Read books, watch inspirational shows and DVD, listen to inspirational audio. Fill your mind and heart with the best. Surround yourself with positive people, form a Mastermind Group to move forward. (We’ll talk more on this another time). Make your lists of people, situations and things you are grateful for each day. Do this so that you can realize that you deserve the best that life has to offer. Be good to yourself. AND remember this applies to others too be good to them, they deserve the best as well.

Keep in mind and dynamically read or repeat your Definite Chief Purpose night and day. Know what you want and by when. Write it down and review it at least twice a day, morning and night. Visualize yourself having already accomplishing your Definite Chief Purpose. See yourself as already having what it is you want. Know that THIS is your destiny.

Energetically repeat your affirmations and your Directed Questions during the day, repeatedly. The more energetically you say (or shout) these the faster they work. Energy begets energy. It is not mindless repeating but active engagement. It is our emotions that operate the mechanism. When we are incredibly alive or terribly angry we are most powerful. We have all that energy impacting our unconscious. Our feelings are what we use to get our unconscious (servo-mechanism) to work for us.

Keep doing it and believe it. You will – once you make it a habit.

Find ways to add delight to yourself and others. Put a smile on someone else’s face. Help them out. You help yourself AND you help yourself get what you want when you help others get what they want. We are interconnected and networked. Help people and they will help you too.

Gift and surprise yourself today. Take time and be generous and treat yourself well. Little things count! After all, after today, it will not be here any longer, it will only be a memory. Use the days you have to make them what you want them to be. Create more positive memories to enjoy.

Walk, move, skip, dance, do a little physical activity every day that makes you feel great. Shake it up!

Fill your mind and heart and being with positive energy and you will transform yourself in amazing ways.

While I was learning (and believe me I still am) I read and I thought about what I was learning and attempted to put it all into practice.

I have mentioned numerous times that ‘we become what we think about.’ I thought, ‘wow cool, I now have a way to gage what I am thinking through out the day. I can think these thoughts and I will become this way, I will attract this.’ It made a huge difference for me when I embraced this concept. I thought – ‘WOW I can become this’. It was awesome! I filled my mind with positive powerful thoughts and kept my mind on these as much as possible every single moment.

Then I had an epiphany.

I realized (and I still do this over and over again) that I am now what I have already thought about. My present IS a result of my past thinking. My life NOW is a direct result of what I thought before. I had become what I thought about most of the time. It was not some far off nebulous concept, but an immediate here and now realization.

MY life and myself was a direct result of what I had been thinking in my life up to that moment. And even now up to this moment as I write this.

Whether this is true in actuality or not does not matter to me. If it were untrue so what? I discovered a concept, a principle, a practice that has allowed me to transform myself and my world for the better. Everything is in flux. All of this IS a process of becoming. It is always changing it is not static. Therefore, I am still in the process of transforming for the better, nothing is finished. It is becoming better and better along the way.

AT THAT moment, – back then, – when it dawned on me that I was creating the life I experienced all along by the thoughts I was thinking – in that moment – I decided to take responsibility for everything I have and for what I don’t have and all that happens to me.  Up to that moment life was something that happened to me.

I made a new decision. I began to view myself as the creator of myself and my world. (Overtime, I got to confront this decision time and time again and see how valuable and powerful it truly is). Again, I am not saying there may not be outside forces, obviously there are, but in order to gain control for myself, I decided the mental attitude I would adopt.

I began to realize that everything IS a result of my perceptions and my attitudes and that  I make myself happy or miserable regardless of what the outside forces bring. The notion ‘if it is to be it is up to me’ began to make more and more sense.

Life became incredible. I began to live as I had never lived before. Things began to happen and opportunities became visible. It was awesome. At the same time, other things did not seem to change very much. Some things certainly seemed frozen as is.

I looked around me and realized there was still much I didn’t like and did not want. It confused me at first, wasn’t I doing everything right? Wasn’t I already feeling great and much more positive? Weren’t some things really much better? Yes, to all of those. Then, why did some things seem to be stuck?

I recognize that few of us transform suddenly, as in the stories of sudden enlightenment. My enlightenment was definitely coming as a series of insights coupled with challenges or opposition. Things seemed great and then not so great. I wondered at first, what was wrong. Then it hit me again!

If any of that was going to change then I was going to have to make it change by making some changes in and for myself. I had learned that whatever we resist persists so the more we fight against what we don’t want, the more we think about what we don’t want the more we get exactly what we don’t want. That is what I had been doing all my life and here I was doing it again. I encountered difficulty or things I didn’t like I fought them, I resented them. I may even have done them reluctantly or begrudgingly.

There were things in my life I just did not want to do. (there may always be) Things like cleaning, accounting, chores, dealing with difficult people, other drivers, etc. and it occurred to me that if I did these while resenting them or filling myself up with how much I disliked them I was creating more of the same bad energy.

I determined to focus on whatever good feelings or thoughts I could muster about these activities.  Sometimes I found it helped to focus on the end result. The task was done and I could relax or celebrate the fact that it was completed.

At this stage, it occurred to me that whatever better thought I could come up with to replace the negative one, even if it was not the most positive thought I could find, this new one was actually better for me and moved me toward what I ultimately wanted. I found a way to move forward.

I didn’t have to be a cheer leader oozing with positivity for doing these tasks. To start the process off all I had to do was to find thoughts that were slightly more positive than what I started with.

Incremental steps toward where you want to go is far superior to no movement whatsoever or wallowing where you are.

This was another big realization for me.

I could navigate back to the positive (steer back to center) by choosing thoughts that were less negative or slightly more positive that the preceding ones. Yes, it meant I had to do some thinking and feeling, it meant I had to do some choosing instead of letting the thoughts and feelings run rampant over me. It meant I determined what I would think and feel, I would be in charge, I would take control instead of letting them control me as they had been doing all along.

Whew! It was a big realization and one I still continue to have to do. Although the process is much easier and more automated. The bottom line, as I write this. I AIN’T DONE yet, I am a work of art in progress. We all are. What happened for me was that now I began to realize it, recognize it and appreciate it.

I think much of life is learning how to get unhooked. We get captured, hooked by people, things, situations, our reactions all the time. Recognizing we bit the hook and getting off the hook is part of learning to be more aware. The more aware we become the more we notice many things. At first, we may notice our shortcomings, where we get stuck and how we get still get stuck again and again. This is blessing waiting to happen OR a curse. We can either celebrate getting hooked and unhooked or we can hate it and blame ourselves for not evolving fast enough. The latter is not a wise use of our time.

Be gentle and realize we will get caught up and that there are disappointments. How we handle at the time is what we do at the time. SO get over it, get over yourself and get on with positive things. Be gentle, accepting and loving of yourself and you will evolve much faster than criticizing yourself. This is a discovery we each make in our own time.

Moving on:

I am talking about two things here. One is the ability to maintain a positive focus.

Yes, choose powerful positive affirmations and potent questions to direct your mind in dynamic ways. Repeat them to yourself through out the day with energy and enthusiasm. Keep chanting them and holding them day and night in your mind until you actually believe them. See in your mind’s eye, visualize yourself as you want to be. Hold onto these images and enjoy them. Feel great about them. Stay positive, confident, powerful, enthusiastic and feeling marvelous!

BUT when you don’t feel fantastic, when you are faced with some unpleasantness, and to feel ecstatic is too large a leap for you – then you can incrementally nudge yourself in that direction by choosing better thoughts than the less than glorious ones you have. If you can’t get to powerfully positive right from the get go inch your way there.

Don’t stop being positive and wallow in self-pity, negativity or blame yourself, instead, find a way to think and feel a little bit better. Take a break, take a walk, do something! This is an area where using Directed Questions is extremely beneficial. (I have discussed this and other things you can do to alter your feelings positively in previous posts. I invite you to go back and reread).

When you do this you steer yourself back to center. You adjust where you are at mentally and physically in order to get back on track. You move step by step in a more positive direction. Even when you only move slightly in the direction of the more positive you are benefiting yourself. You are deciding on the direction you want to travel and this is a good thing!

Do you get that?

We create our experience. If our experience is to change we must first change ourselves. Once we change ourselves we can change our experience. The little things can make a big difference. So be flexible and appreciate it when you make large positive changes AND small positive changes.

The is other important aspect is choosing your destination. Where do you want to end up? What is your overall goal? What is your passion? What is you must have in life? What do you absolutely want?

This is THE larger question.

You can use all of the above approaches to make your life much more incredible at any time. It is useful and absolutely worth it to do so. You can find your experience definitely positively transformed.

To ramp up your evolution then you must chose you destiny. FIRST. (of course, if you already know yours and are working on it, these methods I discuss are extremely valuable in accelerating your accomplishments).

You must figure out what you want to have more than anything else in life. It can be anything. For some people it may be happiness, for others wealth, for another to have a partner or children, or a career or a big house, or little cottage by the lake or a farm. Whatever it is you must figure out what you want in your life. This is what Napoleon Hill would call a ‘definite chief purpose’. You must determine what yours is.

Why is this important? So that you don’t drift. So that you know where you are headed. Imagine this, you pick a vacation destination and a time when you want to get there. Most people can relate to this. You predetermine where you want to go and when.

Once you know where you want to go you can proceed. You know when you want to get there so it would be wise to determine, also in advance, HOW you want to get there.  How you travel is important. You do want to enjoy it don’t you?

Let’s assume you decide to enjoy it along the way, come what may. Whether you take detours or get sidetracked or lost, whether the going is arduous or easy you decided to enjoy it all and stick with it. You utilize everything I have been sharing to make your travel pleasant and positive.

If you don’t quit traveling you will ultimately get to your destination, either sooner, later or right on time but you will get there. As long as you make it a point to get to the destination no matter what happens and as long as you keep going you DO get there. If you stop and give up anywhere along the way you won’t make it. Certainly, this is easy to understand. You must not quit!

Because you know in your mind where you want to end up, all along the way, you will be able to determine whether you are getting closer or further away. You will know if you are off track and when you need to correct the course of travel to get to your destination.

You will know when you have arrived  because you chose where you wanted to end up from the very beginning. You had a plan you worked the plan and you got the results.

This is why it is important to know what you want in life.

The disclaimer is this:  You can have anything you want as long as it doesn’t harm you or someone else in the process. I won’t go into the reasons for this right now but will save that for another time. At this moment simply find a way to get what you want that helps others get what they want and you will be far, far better off.

When it comes to what you want there is no limit. You can have anything your heart desires. The caveat, as someone once said is, ‘there are no unrealistic goals, only unrealistic deadlines’.

Here are a couple of sticking points some people encounter. I know I have.

Some people never allow themselves to think that they deserve the best. Honestly, you do. You do deserve to have the best of everything, be the best you can be and enjoy all the abundance and wonderful things life has to offer. Some people never get around to accepting that for themselves. They think it is only for other people. It isn’t! It is all for you too.

When can you get it? This is sticking point number two. Some people think they can have anything (and they can) but they think it should be right the instant they think about it. They believe in magic. They don’t understand how these things (these laws) work. If you plant a seed you can expect a crop in the reasonable amount of time it takes to get the crop you planted. If you have never made 5 million dollars you still can. You may not do it this year or next but you can do it and you can have it!

I repeat YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN – if you believe that you can and that you will and then you do what is required to make it happen. That is the truth! When your deadline is realistic then you are more apt to keep going because you haven’t set off in fantasy. You are realistic about what it takes for you to get it in a reasonable amount of time. Keep in mind that if you have never done this before you aren’t an expert in what is reasonable but you may guesstimate.

Could you be surprised and get it tomorrow? OF COURSE! Just realize it is not likely. The realistic time frame is important concept to grasp.

Go for all the gusto you can. Claim all you want (and be willing to share) and you can have it IN time. Once you understand this you are further along the path and actually closer to getting it than you may even realize. Thinking magically tends to keep it away.

To Recap: Determine what you want – what you MUST HAVE. Focus on it. Think Positive about it day and night. Use positive thinking to make your day to day experience wonderful. Keep the faith and keep going after it and do not stop. You ultimately will arrive and arrive well. The tools you are using and the habits you are forming as a result guarantee that you will transform your life for the better regardless of what comes down the pike. It is all about what you learn to do and take the time to master.

In a nutshell here is what you can do.

1. Revisit and re-read the thoughts and concepts I’ve shared in this and my other blog posts. Read books, watch inspirational shows and DVD, listen to inspirational audio. Fill your mind and heart with the best.

2. Surround yourself with positive people, form a Mastermind Group to move forward.

3. Make your lists of people, situations and things you are grateful for each day. Gratitude List.

4. Allow yourself to go after anything positive you want that benefits you and others. Realize you deserve the best that life has to offer as do others. Be good to yourself. Accept and give yourself permission to be and do and have abundantly.

4. Keep your Definite Chief Purpose. Know what you want by when, have it written down and review it at least twice a day, morning and night. Read or state it with passion and enthusiasm. Visualize yourself having already having your Definite Chief Purpose. See yourself already having what it is you want. Know this is your destiny.

5. Energetically repeat (or shout) your affirmations and your Directed Questions during the day, repeatedly. Keep doing it and believe it. You will once you make it a habit.

11. Persist – never quit. Adjust your plans, be flexible, but keep going You will get there.

12. Practice the Golden Rule – this is about the power to think positive not only for yourself but about others. Think the best. Treat others the way you want to be treated well. Do it even if they don’t do it. Do it first! What you put out there you get back. Like attracts like. Make it a practice to only think thoughts and speak words that bless, heal and prosper yourself and others.

DO these and your life will change. Make these a habit and you will get your goals and make your dreams come true. ” Rex SIkes

What Are You Not Thinking About Right Now?

When you consider people and things in your life to be grateful for what are you not thinking about that would be good for you if you did? Sometimes we choose the obvious and only go as far as those thoughts readily available. We hit the surface but we don’t go deep. Now, it’s time to dig deeper too. Examine everything. It is time to begin to think thoughts you may have never considered thinking before. So what are you not considering that if you did might make an amazing difference for you?

You don’t know yet, do you? That is because you have to actually stop and think about it.

What are you not thinking about right now? Well, of course there are countless things because we have a limited focus or conscious capacity. Not only that be we think repetitive thoughts along repetitive lines. Researchers tell us we don’t do a lot in the way of generating much new thinking from day to day. We think today much of what we thought about yesterday.

So consider this.

We think of people as geniuses or artists and great creative minds when they are able to think outside the box. We value those who think and create and do those things it never occurred to us to do. We appreciate those who think along lines that we never bother to. We may even revere these individuals.

Using this as an example – what can we begin to do for ourselves that could make an amazing difference? How can we begin to think outside the box and free up our minds to entertain other thought that may be quite beneficial? What can we begin to think about that we might have never ever considered thinking about before?

Well?

You have lived for how many years?  Have you ever thought to appreciate your feet for carrying you through life? Have you ever thought about how your feet and legs have made it possible for you to have traveled everywhere, all over, all along all this time? And you have always hated your toes or how your feet looked or your legs are too short or your calves to thick? Think about this: there may be something about you that you have never liked or thought to appreciate but that is the basis of much of everything you have ever done or accomplished.

What about your hands, your back, your ass your looks or your digestive system? There are so many things about you to appreciate that you may never have thought to.

You may be short or tall or thin or fat, you may be athletic or not, you may have a physical challenge have you ever thought to appreciate this about yourself. If not, why not?

If it never occurred to you – that too is an important point. It demonstrates what I said a moment ago. We think along routine lines and don’t venture out very far. Well, now you can.

Instead of looking at something as a limitation or that ‘thing about yourself you can’t quite accept’ what if you could? What if, instead on not liking it, you began to see it as an aspect of you that opened many alternate doors? What if that thing you didn’t like was actually responsible for many positive other things about you?

Some of us have found aspects of ourselves that are not to our liking. We may have focused on these during our lifetime, and we have let these bother us. We don’t like our nose or our eyes or our teeth? Well, even though we don’t like these what have these very things allowed us to do during our life? What if we didn’t have a nose or a mount or our eyes? How would life be different?

There are those thing about us that we don’t like but to others it does not matter. It is not an issue. Other people don’t think about us the way we do. That might not even notice if we didn’t speak about it. SO if it is not an issue for them why do we make it an issue for ourself?

Not only that but maybe that ‘thing we don’t like about ourself’ is something that they find charming or unique about us.

The point is that we have thought a certain way for so long that we think that is just the way it is. We accept it as gospel or the only way to think about it when, in reality, there may be many other ways to think about it that would be better ways to think. Maybe it could be anything else but we just have never thought about this way.

It may not actually be the way we think it is at all. Maybe it IS otherwise, but how would we know if you only considered it in one fashion.

It may not seem like anything you even want to be thankful about but when you open that possibility up many things can change. If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got. It is not going to change when you keep it the same. BUT we can change it.

If you can change your perspective about what you thought was a limitation, or something you didn’t like about yourself, what else might change for the positive? If you spend less energy maintaining a problem where else might you put that energy. If you free yourself up from having one less problem what positive possibilities might become available.

Perhaps, you can stop it being a limitation and go beyond those thoughts and instead begin to develop a new more powerful and productive mindset. You may not have ever considered this as a possibility until now. Perhaps, you haven’t EVEN now but you could. What would it be like if you began to appreciate things about you that you never ever did before? What if you could take a new different positive perspective about yourself?

I am suggesting you begin to ‘grease the wheel’ to make things much easier for yourself.

Look at those things you appreciate about you and keep appreciating them. Then look for those things that you haven’t yet and begin to appreciate those too!

THEN look for those things you just might never appreciate about yourself and begin to open the door on new thinking that you might otherwise never do.

When you can develop flexibility in this way you will discover many new and exciting things waiting for you. When you can accept and embrace and validate in a positive way those things you considered negative, or less than glorious about you – you make room for many new positive thoughts and feelings and behaviors.

For example, some people have never tried eating certain foods because they didn’t like them as a child. So they have avoided eating them all along. They don’t even want to try eating them. It doesn’t even occur to them unless someone brings it up. BUT, if they would only taste these foods they may discover that they aren’t so bad. Perhaps, the food they have always avoided they may now discover is enjoyable, maybe even desirable. They would never, ever know this unless they are willing to try.

Here is an interesting little tidbit some parents already know. We can educate our taste buds to like things that we don’t presently, by repeated exposure.

Researchers claimed that it takes a dozen or more trials before we are willing to eat a food we don’t like. If we will try it multiple times we get more used to it and can actually begin to like it. In fact, it becomes more likely we will after numerous exposures.

Actually this is true for a number of things. I have mentioned before in other blog pages this process is the same when it comes to thinking in new and positive ways and developing new skills. Repetition opens the door and leads to a positive new habit.

Utilized in reverse it is an approach to de-sensitizing people from what they fear. When a person fears a particular insect or animal or object repeated exposure has been found to eliminate the fear. The feared item is brought into view at a safe distance, the person responds and the item removed. This is repeated until they know and feel that they are safe. Once safe the item is brought closer and the process repeats until eventually they are able to handle the item or do a task or behavior without the limiting feelings. Through repeated exposure they become accustomed to it, or familiar with it, and learn they no longer have to respond in the old unproductive limiting way.

When they no longer are afraid or limited by their feelings they are free to engage in new positive and productive behaviors. They think new thoughts, feel new feelings and do new things as a result. Their energy is released from the problem and it can now flow in new ways.

So you can learn to like new foods or get over fears using a similar targeted approach. You can begin to think new thoughts, feel new better positive feelings and learn new behaviors and skills using repetition in an applied fashion.

Of course, one has to be willing to try.

If one is not willing to try new ways then things remain the same.

If you want your life to change you have to change things in your life. Begin slowly if you must but begin. Look for more things to appreciate about yourself and you will find them. Keep finding ways to value who you are and you will find more and more. You will begin to feel better. The better you feel the more you can do. The more you can do the more you will want to do. It becomes something you look forward to and in time it becomes a natural way to think because you will have developed the habit.

It will never become a habit though if you don’t take the time and make the effort to make it one.

So it is up to you. Take it easy, make it gentle, but do it for yourself. Help yourself discover you true spirit and positive nature. It exists there inside you even if you never thought about it before. Great things exist inside you EVEN if you never thought so before. They do! You are amazing in so many ways and beyond all the ways you may already know. There are aspects about you that are incredible that you may never have noticed. There are all sorts of things about you that you  may never have given yourself credit for. Now, it is time.

Make your list today. Add to it. Keep doing it a little bit more each day. There are so many wonderful discoveries you will make along the way. Do it now.” Rex Sikes

What Has Led You To Where You Are Right Now? Recognize It!

“If you are truly dedicated to changing your life for the better you will be listing the people who you are grateful for and you will be finding new ones every day. No one is too insignificant nor too important to not get listed. Each day people can contribute to us in numerous different ways and learning to recognize this and validate this is an important step toward making your life more wonderful. People are our greatest resources and there are many reasons to celebrate each of them.

If you are dedicated to making your life more positive then you also have been recounting the people whom you have benefited and the ways in which you have made a positive impact on each. Since none of us live completely alone we interact with others. Communication is a two way street. I am suggesting you look for the wins. Your wins and theirs. The more you look for mutual cooperation and benefit the more you will find it.

Keep at it these are great exercises to increase your ability to notice and celebrate the positive contributions of others and your own. Make examination and appreciation a daily habit. Fill your mind, your heart with all good things. You will transform more quickly when you feel grateful more and more each moment. When you feel blessed not matter what you are living the good life and making good things happen.

Today examine the situations and events in your life that have brought you to today. Anything at all which has led you here that you can look on and begin to appreciate if you don’t already. Think of your life as a road map to today and all the crossroads and landmarks and places you have seen along the way. Celebrate these, appreciate these whether they were delightful or challenging at the time. Think of them as stepping stones and each of them is important. Look and see that in each case you made decisions that determined outcomes and no matter what those outcomes were (or are) you are here, and that means you have succeeded in many ways. No matter whether the past was good or not so good you have succeeded. You did the best you could at the time with the information you had then and you carried on.

Some events may have been troubling others wonderful. Begin to recount them all and look at them with new eyes. See them as reasons to celebrate, lessons learned, challenges overcome, blessings in disguise, opportunities waiting to happen. Inventory and appreciate. The past is gone and a person can live in regret over what they are now no longer to change or a person can find the good, whatever that may be, from the past and appreciate it for brining them into the present. You survived whatever it was no matter how terrible or tough. Right there, this is reason to be thankful.

Find new meaning in past and even present situations that lead you to think and feel differently. Every cloud has a silver lining and remember it is always darkest before the dawn. When you celebrate and are really thankful for everything you create space to invite more good things, people, situations, events, opportunities to flow your way. One reason for this is because when you adjust your attitude and your thinking you DO see and consider things differently. When you are feeling wonderful, positive, optimistic, confident and powerful, when life is delightful you notice more than you do when you are just okay or feeling down.

Through these posts I have discussed ways I have found to feel and think better and create the future you want to have. The journey is the process it is all we have at the moment. The future while it may be assured is still in the creation process so all we have is now. In this moment it is most desirable to learn to feel grand. In this moment enjoy and raise your energy up. In this moment feel wonderful because as you do more of these feelings come your way. YOU open the flood gates for more to follow.

When you are able to recognize value in whatever life throws your way, when you are able to see seeds of positivity and opportunity, when you are able to maintain your focus and your feelings no matter what goes on around you then you are becoming the person in charge on your own life. Then you are making good things happen. Then you are really able to make lemonade out of lemons instead of it being a trite little saying. When you can recognize good in all and feel wonderful, or the very best you are able, no matter what life brings you then you are on top of things.

How do you get there. Step by step. It is in all the little things we do each day. It is in these exercises and in making them a habit. When once we form positive habits for thinking and feeling our life has a wonderful positive energy of its own. We become our own master instead of thoughts or others dictating how we feel and behave.

Celebration and appreciation are powerful allies and tools. Utilize these to make your life the life you want to have. Utilize these to create yourself as the person you have always wanted to become. Each day take a step or two or three in being and doing and having what you want most. You can do this. Keep on doing it.” Rex Sikes

Who Has Walked With You On The Path?

“Beginning today: List all the people you are grateful for. Write down the names of those you love and cherish, your friends, those who have influenced you and those who have challenged you. Remember the times and places and activities that these people and strangers were important to you.

Sit and think about this. Take some time to recall. Keep track of those who have educated and guided you.Living and those passed on think back on how lucky you are that they have been in your life. Celebrate, delight and enjoy these memories of special people in your life. How many can you list?

Add to your list tomorrow. Who else do you remember. Who impacted you this day? Stay in tune with people and what they mean and have meant to you. Young or old, past or new focus on being grateful.

Do You Want To Feel Better?

Do you want to feel better? Most everyone does. Some people hope to feel better others always seem to know what to do. When you are feeling ‘out of sorts’ or ‘less than glorious’ there are some simple things you can do that will make all the difference. At the very least they will initiate the process of changing so you can find relief and begin to move in a more productive direction and feel better. The better we begin to feel the more we can continue to feel well being.

Here is an easy way to change how you feel. I’m sure you have heard it before and it works! Take a walk. Go outside, get some fresh air and walk somewhere beautiful. Take it in. See it, listen, take a deep breath, smell it, feel it. Go outside and get refreshed. Look off into the distance, focus your eyes on way far off in the distance while you walk. Look to the horizon. Change your perspective.

Move! If you are able walk barefoot along the beach or the grass. Connect with the earth again. Let yourself be filled with the beauty and wonder of nature. It is easy to do. Even if you live in an urban area walk somewhere nice, somewhere different than where you normally travel. See new places and new things.

Exercise – take that walk, relaxed or make it brisk. Jog, engage in your favorite form of exercise. This helps shake off old tired negative feelings. Work out! Get the stress and frustrations out. Do some cardio, some yoga, go swimming. Move vigorously for awhile. Work in the garden, plant something. Harvest if possible, take out the brush and the weeds. Get into the earth, do some laboring.

Do something nice for another person. Take a moment to make a moment special for someone else. Pay it forward. Help someone out of a jam, carry their groceries, babysit, walk the dog, anything. Put your focus onto someone other than yourself. Find a way to put a smile on their face. Make them a card or a small gift, cook them a meal, take them somewhere special. Make it a point to put some kindness into your day.

Helping others and thinking positive thoughts about others is a fantastic way to feel good. We can feel helpful, useful, kind, generous, we can have pride in what we did, or simply be loving. It takes the attention off of us and puts it onto someone else for awhile. Think about what you can do to help another person improve their situation, overcome a difficulty, solve a problem or just feel better. Caring for someone else is a marvelous way to feel wanted, needed and valuable. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or a shelter. Find out what needs to be done in your community and pitch in or simple assist a family member or a friend.

Do something! Do anything! Just don’t sit there and wallow. Getting up and getting out makes an incredible difference. It is difficult to feel bad when you are moving energetically. It is difficult to feel bad when you are busy and engaged with other things. It is tough to feel bad when your focus is on helping others feel better. When your thoughts and your energy is directed in a positive way you benefit from it. When we are active and moving, when we use our bodies and minds productively it is difficult to feel down. When you are idle, when you don’t move, when you don’t change your body it is much easier to remain stuck. So get up, move, get out, do something, do anything!

Try walking, hiking, skipping, dancing, running, or rolling down a hill as a little kid would. If you are willing to try new things there is always a way out of the gloom. When you make it a habit to take charge and be active about not letting yourself whine, complain and feel down you will find yourself feeling better more of the time. As you do things to move yourself from ‘less than glorious’ to feeling better you are beginning to make it a habit, a practice, to make yourself feel better. The more you do this, the more you do it again and again the more you will find it getting easier, happening more swiftly, frequently and spontaneously. Each time you make a positive change for yourself you are learning something of great value. When you do it deliberately you are really benefiting yourself. No longer are you the victim but you become the victor.

On a separate note it is okay to feel sad sometimes. It is important to grieve when life takes a turn and you lose someone important to you. There are reasons we feel down at times. Sometimes we sleep sometimes we are awake. Everything has a season and a purpose. It is okay and you can accept it.

There is also the time to get up and get on. It is important to know and understand and make room for both. So be sensitive and be wise. Life, as far as I am concerned, is about enjoying and delighting as much as possible. It is about celebrating all good things and making moments special. It is about allowing and about creating. It is about making it what you want it to be and not about letting it happen to you or pass you by. So when it is appropriate, when the time is right make it what you want it to be.

Playfully discover all the ways you can be more fascinated, have more fun and feel fabulous. You will never know all the ways it is possible until you begin to try a few new ones. Do a little bit each day. Explore and adventure. Create some play time for yourself and treat yourself lovingly, with respect and appreciation. If you are used to conning yourself into feeling bad learn to con yourself into feeling better.

Celebrate every moment because once they are here, they leave and only a memory remains.

You can do this. You can make your life much more marvelous. So do something today.

Stick With It, You Can Do It! Never Give Up

Keep going no matter what. Never give up. Giving up is easy. Going on may be tough but it is only by persevering that you will make your dreams come true. ‘Quitters never win and winners never quit’, as the saying goes. Just keep going! Hang in there and keep the faith.

Keep your mind in check. Stay positive and maintain your focus. Believe with all your heart you will prevail. Never let obstacles or challenges derail you. Stick with the plan. Keep on going. You only fail when you finally stop trying. We can learn from any challenge and any obstacle. So stay with it and you WILL get through it.

good judgement comes from experience

All defeat is only temporary. It may not seem that but it is. Remember the saying, ‘This too will pass.’ IT WILL, it really will. No matter how tough it is rise up. You deserve the best there is so you must keep going in order to make that happen. Sometimes we have to fall to learn how to get back up and keep going. We make mistakes to gain wisdom and experience. Everything can be useful to learn from so make the most of every experience, every moment.

Keep moving forward. Being stuck means you stop, that there is no movement. Don’t get stuck, keep moving toward your goals and dreams bit by bit. Consider this, whether true or not, use this thought to inspire you: You are creating everything, your wishes and wants, your dreams and desires, your present and your future. You are creating your obstacles and challenges too. You create these to learn important lessons from and to evolve. Even if it is not true keep it in mind and act as if it were true to guide you.

EVERYTHING is a blessing, every moment there is something to be thankful for. In every challenge is a seed for opportunity and a lesson to be discovered. So be thankful and enjoy! Celebrate and find what is good and new each moment. Make every second count. Live with passion, joy and delight. When you do each moment can transform. Find the little magical moments and collect them. You will transform.

It may be tough but that is just the way it is, for now. Concentrate on what you want and why you want it. Celebrate all the good things you presently can find and ignore the rest. If it doesn’t make you stronger or happier or bring you closer to your goal let it go. Know that if you stay with it you can have what you want if you give up it stops the moment you do.

Never let a thought stop you from getting what you deserve. Make your life wonderful everyday! If you are really challenged help someone else. Put a smile on your lips and help put a smile on yours. In helping others will will move forward faster. It makes us feel good when we do and it helps move all of us forward together, even if just a little bit. Are You Waiting For Paradise? What Are You Waiting For? PT 2

“This was a huge awakening for me. Tomorrow is a result of what we do today or what we don’t do today. We get back what we put out there. If we want different results we have to do things differently and it all begins with what and how we think. In order to have a different future I had to think different thoughts about it.

What this meant was I could no longer continue going along has I had been. I needed to take charge gain control. I knew it may not be easy but it seemed simple enough. If my thoughts are producing the results I am getting and I don’t like these results I must change my thoughts.

I could no longer live as I had, my habitual way of thinking and behaving had to be shaken up or wakened up. I could no longer afford to be a passenger  on the ship of life I had to become the captain. I had to set a destination, chart the course, and keep on course come what may. If I was going to have a different future it was dependent completely on me.

I began by creating what I wanted and focusing on that.  I set my goal I wrote down my definite chief purpose. I have discussed this process in my posts. The point is I determined what I wanted most in life and then I kept it in mind day and night.

I noticed, however, that  my attention was not always on what I wanted. At times I was thinking about what was going on right then in the current situation. I was paying attention to circumstances that were  UNLIKE those I wanted in my future.

I noticed sometimes my attention turned to problems or situations that I deemed might prevent my intended future from manifesting. Instead of being focused on the prize I was focusing on the obstacles.

I found myself going back and forth and realized that this process was not unlike what I already had been doing. It was really no different.

What I was doing was the same as I had been doing all along.

In my past I had hoped for things but didn’t really think I could make them happen.

NOW I wanted things for the future and planned to get them but found myself noticing all the reasons and disappointments that made them unlikely. One moment I was positive the next moment I was not. One moment I was certain I was getting my goals the next moment I doubted it. One instant I imagined being wealthy later I saw the present mountains of bills and no cash to pay them.

It was just like bobbing along as cork on the currents. I was drifting wherever the currents went.

Isn’t it fascinating to notice that often we think we are doing something different when in reality we are doing the very same thing. This is like changing the color you paint the house.  The color is different but the act of painting is the same. This is why people say if you keep doing the same thing but expect different results it is insanity.

The change must be real not cosmetic. If I wanted things to be different I was going to have to develop new habits for myself.

It became clear that if I was going to make a difference for myself in my life and for my future I had to take charge of my thinking. I had to focus on what I wanted and keep it positive no matter what was going on right now. I had to do this even if I had to boot strap it. I could no longer drift along.

Boot strap it I did. I learned some things along the way too. I discovered the power of purposeful questions (Directed Questions) which I have mentioned in previous posts.

I discovered that I needed to hone my ability to return to center. I have used the example of driving down a lane in your car and the micro adjustments we have to make steering, on an ongoing basis, just to continue straight. I have used the examples of a ship or a rocket course correcting continuously in order to arrive at their intended destination.

So it became very clear to me that I had to choose my destination and set my course.  If I wanted to arrive at my destination I had to maintain my course no matter what. I could not succumb to drifting or to giving up. I had to keep doing no matter what was going on in the present.  No matter how treacherous the journey was presently, or how difficult it would become I would keep going. That was my commitment.

If you want to make you future happen you have to concentrate on it to the exclusion of all else. It should become your passion and your obsession.

When you choose your destination you have to concentrate on getting there and not all the distractions, obstacles, detours and side trips. YOU have to remain clear and intent on getting where you set out to get to. You must be of one mind and not tossed about.

You must act with purpose and determination and keep going until you get what goal.

I am in charge and I am choosing

THEN it hit me again. Yes, I could travel to my destination BUT HOW I traveled might be important too. I could travel with such determination that I missed everything along the way. That did not seem worthwhile, nor was it what I wanted. After all I wanted to enjoy life much more. That is why I made these changes.

If it was going to be just painful having a new future it would be unlikely I would stick with it. How then might I increase my odds of sticking with it.

Plenty of people through the century have talked about enjoying life along the way. Going back to a previous point in a post, people have stated you should enjoy the present. Smell the roses and ‘Be here now’.

The point is to not procrastinate and save all the good feelings for later of for some after life. It seemed the journey was an important part of arriving at the destination.

Then I realized HOW the present and future serviced each other.

In order to arrive at my destination happily and with energy to enjoy it I had to like to journey along the way as well.

NOW I understood how the present was important.

Yes, savor the present, the good, the great, the grand. Appreciate the little things be filled with gratitude. Enjoy now and think the best positive thoughts now. Enjoy everything, learn from everything because this moment becomes the next.

| The Secret | How To Get The Positive Results You Want & Make Your Dreams Come True Part 2

“You must focus and remain focused on WHAT YOU WANT in order to engage your unconscious mind (the servo-mechanism)  to work on it for you

You must  provide a clear image to the unconscious so it knows what you want it to do. This is why the power and focus of your conscious mind matters. You deliver the right message to your unconscious and then your unconscious works for you on what you want it to work on.

Your unconscious mind is already working. It IS always working but if you are not getting the results you want to get it is because you have not provided clear instructions for it to carry out.

If you aren’t getting the results you want it is because you are not sending it the clear message of what you want. It IS currently producing what you have been sending it. This is important to understand and act on if you want your life to change for the best…

Part 2

In order for your unconscious mind to work on what you want you have to give it  a clear, definite picture and clear instructions of your ‘burning desire’. This is what you need to do every single day.

Stay focused and passionate about your goal, repeat what you wrote down out loud with lot’s of positive energy and enthusiasm at least twice a day. Adopt the attitude of expectation, believe you are going to get it.

If at first you find it difficult to believe 100% stick with the practice, there will come a time when you do fully believe it. This is important. Believe you will get it and you can get it. Believe that you won’t make it happen and it is nearly 100% certain you won’t.

You must remain constant and not waiver.

If one day you are focused on what you want and the next moment you are thinking about what you don’t want and then again back to what you want you, then what you don’t want you are sending confusing mixed messages. It is just as if you are commanding a pet dog to,”Stay, come here, stay, come here, don’t come, come, stay.”  You can’t flip flop and get good, quick results.

You will get to the prize faster by staying on target with what you want and being definite about it. You will get to your destination when you think and feel and act in alignment with getting there. Do not lett the past or present things throw you off course. Stay strong, be of one mind.

For example, you may not have money to pay your bills.

When you worry about and think about how you don’t have the money and impending consequences does not help you get the money you want or need. You have to adopt a mental position of ‘whatever happens I will be okay, things always work out for me’ instead of worrying. This comes about with practice too!

Worry will only bring more worry. From a more confident, optimistic mindset you are more resourceful and have a better frame of mind to figure out how to get what you need.

The results you get back, how you feel, and your life and your being is filled with whatever predominantly occupies your mind most of the time each day.

In order to meet life’s challenges as you need to be thinking confidently and not frazzled, worried or frantic. Think about it. I will say it again: The results you get back, how you feel, and your life and your being is filled with whatever predominantly occupies your mind most of the time each day.

You become what you think about.

Keep in mind that I am sharing with you a life changing process. It is a process. The word process defined means ‘a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end’. It functions through time. It  is not an over night, instantaneous, magic pill but a method. For some, you will see results more quickly, for others it may take longer, regardless it will take some time.

Changing your life is not a competition so don’t be concerned with the time it takes be concerned with being dedicated to the process.

What may be difficult at first becomes easier the more you do it. You may have learned to eat by yourself, walk, ride a bike, read and write, drive a care, play a sport and countless other things that seemed difficult at first. So hang in there and you will get better and eventually master this process too. Just stick with it and never stop and you will make it happen.

You must be clear about you want and focused on it. You must concentrate on it over and over again and only on it. You must remain faithful to your goal and the results you want. You must ignore what you don’t want and favor what you do want.

You may include all the incredible things, small and large, from your present and accentuate these. You must keep going and not quit in order to get what you want. When you do these things you will discover your life changing along the way, but remember, it may not be evident at first.

Keep this in mind: what do you want? Do you want the results (your dreams/goal) in the future or  do you what you have now? Whatever you focus on is what you will get more of. It is your decision. If you want your life to change for the better you are learning what you can do to make that happen. It is up to you to do it.” Rex Sikes

*I suggest you go back and read through these blogs again and again. You will discover things you missed when you read it the first time. What you missed was there all along but the person who goes back to read again has already been altered by life along the way.

You are not exactly the same person you were yesterday, a week ago, a month or years. You are changing. When you read something later you may bring a new awareness to it because you have new life experiences since the last time you visited. You understand things differently the second, third and forth time you read the same material. So Read, re-read, and implement. It is not the reading that will change you but what you put into practice from your new understandings.

Your Life Can Be Incredible! Did You Know It Can Begin This Weekend?

“It is the weekend! How can you make today and tomorrow special for yourself? What can you do that you will enjoy?Take a break, be sure to relax and do something to make you feel special.

Yes, after the work week we sometimes have to catch up on other important things and then spend the entire weekend working too. I have done it we all have. This weekend discover taking a little time for yourself to feel wonderful. Gift yourself with time for you and the people you love.

Spend time with your family and friends. Treat yourself and those you care about extra special for no reason at all. Celebrate who is in your life and what you are grateful for. Do something wonderful for someone else. Go somewhere that would be really fun. Explore, adventure, discover!

Life is really no more than moments. Moment to moment we live our day. When all is said and done we evaluate our day, even our lives, by how many moments we think are positive, fun and worthwhile. So should make sure that each day we create special moments for ourselves, family and friends. Take a moment to include the good, the new, the amazing, the wonderful.

Don’t just spend life working and striving and doing what must be done. Sure, that may be important but relaxing, enjoying, delighting, and celebrating is important to. There is a reason why the phrase, ‘Stop and Smell the Roses’ exists. So stop and smell the roses today and tomorrow.

Make it a practice, a habit to treat yourself wonderfully. Appreciate yourself for your talents and strengths. Then extend that appreciation to those around you and then to those circumstances you enjoy. Spend an hour or more just for you.

Don’t blow off what you need to complete but find a way to incorporate celebration and relaxation into your day. Work hard then play hard or play hard and then work hard whichever works for you. Just make it a point to make it a special time.

Perhaps, you can do something you have been wanting to do for awhile. Go someplace special you’d like to see, Take along someone you care about or just spend time quietly with them at home. Gift yourself in some way, give yourself a treat. Reward yourself for creating a special time today.

Refresh and renew your mind, your body, your spirit. Immerse yourself in the incredible. Dive into the delightful. Amaze yourself with something astounding. Service your soul.

Remember to make this weekend a retreat. If only for a little while, do it. Do it lightly, stress free, comfortably, and easily. No pressure, no stress, no reasons why you must, just do it for the sake of doing something different and enjoyable.

Just do anything marvelous and safe that will put a smile on your face and make you feel better. It can be small or large whatever works for you.

You could have a special beverage, a snack, go for a walk, take a bath, have a bonfire, a cookout, invite friends over, go to a play, a movie, some music. Go to the park, the beach, read a book, take a nap, buy yourself a little something you want and enjoy. Do something with you children or your parents, visit someone who can’t get out, take them somewhere nice if you and they are able.

Anything at all that makes you moments special.

Collect wonderful positive moments and memories! Then collect more. Each day is an opportunity for more marvelous moments and miracles. Create a space for yourself each day to savor.

Just start today. Commit to making it more satisfying, desirable and relaxing. Commit to nourishing yourself and having time alone and/or with loved ones. Treat yourself well.

It is a two way street. What you send out comes back. Send out the best and get the best in return. It will positively surprise you when you live life this way. Think the best, feel the best, act the best and you will have the best.

When you take time for yourself to enjoy, appreciate and delight you create space for more wonderful moments and miracles. You create them, you attract them, and they come along and simply surprise you because you made more room for unexpected blessings to come your way.

Here is The Secret: How To Get The Positive Results You Want And Make Your Dreams Come True Part 1

The key, the trick, the most powerful thing you can do is focus on where you want to be and not what is going on around you. If what you are experiencing is less than glorious you need to ignore that and focus on the positive results you do want. As captain of your ship you need to be clear on your destination and not concerned with how difficult the journey may be.

Focus on the results you want to get in your future and not what you do not have at the moment. Even if things are crumbling around you you must stay focused on what you want and when you want it.

It may be the hardest thing you have to do but you must do it.

I repeat: You get and you become what you think about. If you are focused on what is wrong, what you don’t have, the lack of funds, whatever the problem is, you do not help yourself overcome these. You are focused on what you don’t want and your mind and being is filled with all the problems. The result is that you end up getting more of what you do not want. Certainly, you are not going to get what you want by concentrating on and worrying about what you don’t want.

Remember the planting seeds analogy I have used. If you plant wheat you will not get corn. If you plant peas you won’t get carrots. You get what you plant. As for the results in your life you get what you plant. If you spent all your time planting wheat but wanting corn we’d think you were crazy. You can’t get the results you want focused on what you don’t have. BUT if you focused on the corn you wanted AND you plant corn you are going to get corn as long as you take care to nurture it properly.

Yes, it may be difficult to stay focused on the positive but you stay focused you must. You must steer your ship back on course when you get off track. You must focus on the results and the deadline you want and not on what or where you came from or the difficulties. You can’t move forward looking backwards.

You won’t move forward being focused on where you are right now. You get more of what you focus on. If you want to move forward focus on where you want to be AND on making sure you do move inch by inch in that direction.

What you MAY focus on from the present are all the good things.

When you focus on what you are grateful for and all the things you enjoy right now in this moment, and from your past, you open the door to get more of these. Concentrate on feeling grateful, filled with joy, peace, love and happiness these are great to focus on!

Concentrating on confidence and what you are able to accomplish is fantastic!

Thinking highly of others and treating them the way you want to be treated brings you better relationships and connections with others who may be of help to you too as you move along. Keep in mind no one ever succeeds alone. SO think the best of yourself and others.

Create the you and the life and world you want to live in and focus on these. Bring all the wonderful memories and moments from your present along with you. That is a great thing to do. Keep the positive while creating more positive!

REMEMBER: Stay focused on the positive results you want to have and not the shabby results you may currently experience.

Fill your dreams and goals with positively charged energy.

I’ve suggested writing what you want to have down and then looking at it through the day. Read it out loud to yourself with fully charged energy and confidence at least twice a day.  Do this every day without fail.

The results you get in the future are based on what you are doing now just as where you are today is a result of the thoughts and actions you took in your past. Stay with your goal, fill your being with it. In your mind see it and enjoy it. Act as if you are already living it. Do this often each day. Keep doing it every day, every week.

When you plant a seed it takes time and you do not see the results right away. YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE FAITH. This may be the most difficult part of the process. It may be hard to hang in there when there is no evidence that you should but you should. YOU MUST stick with it if you want to get the results you intend to get.

Stick with it, stay with your positive practice and it will pay off. It won’t happen if you quit. You won’t succeed if you don’t do the work. If you are not committed, if you slack on your practice or if you are wishy washy with your focus you aren’t going to see it come to pass. The odds are against you.

The only thing that will bring about the positive change you desire are the changes you make.

Reading about it won’t make a difference. It may inspire you but you have to implement what you learn. You can read about a wonderful meal and desire it but that is not the same as eating the beautiful meal. You must eat and digest on a daily basis (a number of times during the day) to stay healthy. Put into practice what you have read about and learned.

You must focus and remain focused on WHAT YOU WANT in order to engage your unconscious mind to work on it for you (the servo mechanism).

You must  provide a clear image to the unconscious so it knows what you want it to do. This is why the power and focus of your conscious mind matters. You must deliver the right message to your unconscious mind – then your unconscious works on what you want it to work on.

Remember, your unconscious mind is already working. It IS always working!  If you aren’t getting the results you want to get it – it is because you have not provided clear instructions for it to carry out. It doesn’t know what YOU want – it only works on what you have already been giving it.

I repeat: If you aren’t getting the results you want – it is because you are not sending it the clear message of what you DO want. It IS currently producing and carrying out actions from what you have been sending it. You are where your thoughts have brought you. You will go where your thoughts take you.

This is important to understand and act on if you want your life to change for the best.

This is why it is so important to decide what you want for yourself. You must decide on your most important goal. Napoleon Hill called it ‘your definite chief purpose’ and you must concentrate on making it come to pass.

You stay focused on positive thoughts and fill your mind and being with positive thoughts and feelings. You can not let the present get you down you must persevere even when the going seems impossible. Keep what you want, your goal, in mind at all times. This is how you end up getting what you truly want.
