Tony Robbins Is Wrong! Research Shows Positivity Affects Your Health

Does positivity help you to be healthy? What does research indicate? Can happy thoughts lead to a happy body? If it were true you could influence your health by thinking differently would you? John Hopkins University research indicates it makes a difference.

Filling your mind with happy, positive thoughts is a quick way to health. It may be the fastest road to good health. This is why it’s important to read positive materials, listen to positive audios, and think positively consistently. It helps keep you healthier.

This is why your daily rituals should include positive affirmations, visualization, hanging out with other positive people and making the effort to think and feel better. Tony Robbins is wrong, positive thinking is not thinking, ‘there are no weeds, there are no weeds’.

Go 24 Hours Without Complaining Notice How Your Life Improves

Positive thinking doesn’t mean you ignore less difficult situations. Positive thinking means that you approach circumstances in a more positive and productive way. You think or expect the best will happen, not the worst. You determine to make things work out.

The Mayo Clinic reported the maintaining positive thoughts and self talk leads to an increased life span, lower rates of depression and distress. It leads to greater resistance to colds, better psychological and physical well being and better cardiovascular  health .

It also helped people have better coping skills during times of stress and hardship. The Mayo Clinic suggested people learn to manage their self-talk. This is our inner auditory thoughts. Instead of getting down on ourself and life we manage our thinking to be the best.

Always Begin And End The Day With Positive Thoughts 

We can practice this and make positivity a habit. Whenever we become aware we are thinking or speaking silently or out loud less than gloriously we stop and correct it. Instead of saying, ‘I could never do that’ we switch it to, ‘I could do that.’

It is important that we believe our thoughts too so we may need to get there in steps. If you doubt you could do that you can work your way there by saying, ‘I could learn to do that. Given the opportunity I could begin to learn to do that. I can learn to do that.’ Get it?

‘I will learn to do that. I can do that’. It is up to you how you traverse this mental pathway but you select the thoughts that move you forward bit by bit. Positive thinking can be powerful and really make a difference for you in your life. Spend more time thinking good.

Positive Anything Is Better Than Negative Nothing – Be Positive

Then you will spend more time feeling good. A great way to think better is to appreciate more of yourself, life and those people, circumstances and things around you. Most of what makes us feel good and makes us truly rich are free; family, friends, the world.

Notice the beauty of the world, the taste of your food, the time spent having fun and express your gratitude for these. Spend more time thinking better, appreciating yourself and life and you’ll spend more time feeling good. That is reason enough to celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

Important Things To Do When Feeling Blue

“Remember, the tide goes out and comes back in. The cold becomes warm. To everything, there is a season. Thought and feeling management is based on creating supportive habits. Sometimes a break is nice. I tend to push through things. Sometimes, just allow.

Sometimes the contrast between feeling like it and not feeling like it can provide us with important insight and learning. Allow and surrender without giving up or giving in. Let go of how you think it should be and explore how it could be. Stop labeling and judging.

Look for tiny blessings that put a smile on your lips. Enjoy and delight. Morning comes. Whatever you focus on expands. Energy flows where attention goes. Attitude is everything. Where can you put your attention and focus that supports you? Find love, peace.

Listen To The Silence – It Speaks – Slow Down – Just Listen

What can you find that uplifts you? Look around. When blue, when stressed, when angry our focus constricts. Open it back up. Relax, breathe, move. Create some space. Step back a bit. Allow, let go. Stop and breathe. Breathe and focus on your breath. Listen. Listen.

Sigh. Hum. Sing. Breathe. Move. Walk. Notice, what else is around? Look around. Wonder, really wonder, what can you begin to explore and notice that is good and new? Go to nature. Sit. Imbibe. Listen, really listen. Look at the space. The empty spaces between things.

Do you realize there is more space than matter? Look at the space between branches and leaves. Between trees. Listen to the space between the notes in a song. Listen to the space between words. Create silence, listen to the space between your thoughts.

Silence Isn’t Empty – It Is Full Of Answers – Be Still And Know

Step back create some distance between you and the issue. Look at things from other angles, other perspectives. Lie down and look at the clouds. Look at the space between the clouds. Listen to a babbling brook; the sounds and silences in nature. Just listen.

Look for silver linings. Look for the good. Seek the good, however small. Seek what is new and different. Find anything to appreciate. Anything at all. ANYTHING! Large or small. Put your attention on the people, places, things, events, situations you are grateful for.

This changes everything. Keep the focus on what you are thankful for. That is where your energy will flow. That will change everything. It may start small, hardly noticable, or it may come in a flood. However it does, allow it. Celebrate it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Live Now How You Want To Be Living Later

I wrote yesterday about celebrating my 1000th consecutive published blog post.Today, is 1001. I point this out because when I undertook writing it was not without some difficulty. I decided it I would write daily. I called this blog daily inspiration and gratitude.

I committed to it. I had no readers but I made a commitment to write daily to inspire and feel gratitude. That decision began everything. I mention this because what we decide to create, what we decide not to create governs us. Our decisions do shape our destiny.

Here is my point and this really isn’t about me, but I use it as an example. I had no idea what kind of commitment writing everyday meant. I only knew I intended to keep it. I knew that by doing so I would develop the habit. I would also WANT to maintain it.

You Provide The Desire And The Action The Universe Responds

I want to not break the chain. I want to keep it going. Hopefully, my writing has improved. I think it has because I have practiced it daily. I look forward to writing and sharing. I am conditioned to write and share. This is how we change. We make the decision first.

We decided what we want. We then begin. We  begin right from where we are at, in whatever condition we are in. We do something each day in service of that decision. The more we do the more we can do. The more we do the better we can get. We practice.

We keep our word and our commitments to ourself and others. We manage and maintain our attitude, thoughts and feelings. We create the actions that make it happen. In doing so we create our reality. We design and make happen what we want. Whatever it is.

Whatever You Can Dream You Can Do – Begin It – Take Action

Whether it is about writing a blog, getting out of debt and becoming financially free, developing more loving relationships, have more fun, freedom and living our dreams, whatever it is about, we can make it happen, when we decide to and take inspired action steps each day.

It is the steady progress toward fulfilling a goal that keeps us on track. The more we progress the better it feels and the more we progress. There will always be challenges and obstacles but how we get through those depends much on how we view those. It does.

Mindset is the first and foremost skill you want to develop. A steel will and backbone to persist comes from doing and overcoming challenges. The kite rises highest against the wind. Passion is important because without it, it is unlikely you will continue.

Whatever You Consistently Hold In Your Mind You Manifest

It must be worth it to you. It must be important and all consuming. It is important to have fun, too. It is good to have a sense of humor, take things lightly and enjoy all of the process. When you don’t know what to do, do anything positive. Leave your comfort zone. Have fun.

Explore, delight and discover. Adventure. Be playful. Make your dreams happen and have a great time doing so. Stop struggling. Stop worrying. Start living now, how you want to be living later. THAT is the art and the science of making everything you want happen.

Live NOW, how you want to be living later. Stop delaying. Stop putting off. Stop making excuses. Stop whining and complaining. Start feeling good right now for no reason. Start by expressing gratitude. Focus on what you like. Focus on what thrills you.

I Am A Manifestation Of My Own Fantasies – I Am What I Think

Focus on what and who you appreciate. Focus on what makes you happy. Big or small. Tiny and insignificant. Find it and focus on it. Focus on these to the exclusion of all troubles and woes. Feel the power of feeling good! Do it now. Don’t wait. Begin immediately.

This IS how you transform. Where you put your attention and energy is what expands and you get more of. Put it on good things, wonderful things, lovely things, fantastic thoughts, feelings, memories and moments, then and now. Imbibe and savor these!

Focus on delight and you will be. Focus on crap and you get more crap. So stop that. Make love, passion, excitement, enthusiasm, happiness, peace and joy a habit. Do it daily. Practice and rehearse and you get better at it. Begin to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Choose To Be At Peace No Matter What is Going On

“Want some positive relief? Want to feel good today? There are things you can do. Claim control over your own mental attitude. Claim control over your feelings. Stop being a victim of either. Put yourself in charge. Realize now is all you have. Claim your power.

Make the decision that no person, no current event, no situation, no place or thing can annoy you or irritate you. Decide you will remain at peace. Be the eye of the storm. Remain calm and centered no matter what. Decide not to focus on the crap. Focus on the good.

Stop Believing The Lies That Hold You Back From Having The Life You Want!

“I am going to say something you may think controversial. You may immediately disagree. I ask you to hold all judgement in abeyance until after I have presented my case. Then, do whatever you feel you must.  All thoughts and all beliefs are lies. They are falsehoods.

Not the intentional kind but they are falsehoods nonetheless. Our thoughts, our assumptions, our expectations, our beliefs frame what we notice, pay attention to, and operate from. They need not be accurate or true to be effective or have an affect.

At best they’re partial glimpses of the world we co-opted from others while growing up, some derived from experience. You can think or believe anything inaccurately, wrongly or stupidly. That’s why it’s critical to gain clarity on what you think and believe.

Today You Are Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You

It is critical to gain clarity on supportive versus non-supportive beliefs . Since all thought and beliefs are only a partial view of everything there is, it is critical we learn to choose supportive beliefs that help us create, and make happen, what we want in our lives.

It is imperative we choose the best, most positive, powerful beliefs that move us forward, assist us in overcoming obstacles and limitations, and motivate us to create the life we deserve to live. It is a choice. Of course, it isn’t if you don’t believe it to be. Decide!

If you believe you are hampered by thoughts, behaviors, others, the world, the economy and the weather then you have adopted a victim mentality that puts you at the effect of all else. Adopting the beliefs that you are at cause and able to triumph over all is a useful belief.

You may or may not triumph over all but better to try and fail, is it not, than to never try at all? Choose new, powerful, supportive beliefs that you can do whatever you put your mind to. You can learn to create abundance and live the life of your dreams. You can!

If you don’t declare this; if you don’t affirm this; if you don’t believe this, what is the alternative? How is that any better? You determine your reality by your mindset and it either empowers and supports you or disempowers you and is not supportive. It is your choice.

It is always your choice. The affirmations you recite now with passion and enthusiasm may not yet be accurate. Repeated long enough, often enough with enough intensity and they will become your new thought habits. They will replace the old negative ones.

You Cannot Escape The Power Of Your Thoughts

Condition your mind for success. Condition yourself for success. Enjoy more happiness, more prosperity, more love, more fun, more freedom by creating what you want. Imagine it and believe it. Keep at it until you bring it about it. It is all in your hands. Your mindset.

It is all between your ears, so to speak. Gain control over your thoughts and feelings and you gain control over your life. I’ll let you disagree with this if you wish. Create whatever reality you want. After all, it is your life. You decide how you want it to play out.

Do those things that support you in being who you want to be, doing what you want to do and having what you want to have. No one else can do this for you. Practice believing that which makes the future you desire, possible. Practice gratitude and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What We Can Learn From The 2017 Academy Awards Show.

“Did you see the Oscars 2017. I enjoyed it. If you missed it you missed a fun show with lot’s of live happenings. I posted to Facebook my list of lessons from this year’s Oscars. I decided to include it here. While written somewhat in jest I do think we can learn a lot to apply.

Here is what we can learn from the 2017 Academy Awards Show. Learn from the Oscar mishap and apply the learning to our everyday lives. I think the example is ripe with more than just a few practices to embrace. I only list a few. Enjoy and transform your situations.

1. Not everything goes as expected. Get over it. Go on with grace.

2. Surprises and shocks, delights and disappointments are part of it.

3. It is an Academy Award show. It is about glamour, friends, talent, and money. Keep in mind it is an Academy Award Show. It is a show!

4. It is an AWARD show. It’s LIVE – real time. If everything and everyone were included it would last longer. There will be omissions. People complain. Enjoy what is there! Lighten up! It’s the Oscars

5. Not everyone likes or cares for the same things. So what? Enjoy.

6. It is a celebration! Keep that in mind. Criticism is an easy out.

7. Mistakes are mistakes. Remember the positive outcome. Learn.

8. Cut everyone some slack. It is what it is. Have fun. It’s Oscars!

9. Don’t rain on other’s parades. It’s an awards show. Celebrate!

10. Rectify mistakes with integrity. Do the right thing quickly. Don’t hesitate! Be willing to lose if you must. Celebrate others who win.

BONUS LESSON: IT IS AN AWARD SHOW!! It’s purpose is recognition and edification. Are there other reasons for it. Yes, so what! Let people come together to pat each other on the back. Why do I repeat so often? SO we remember to keep it in mind! Laugh!

Well that’s it. Have fun. Enjoy life. Offer credit where credit is due. Acknowledge, recognize and edify others around you. Celebrate your success, but be sure to celebrate the success of others. When disappointed accept it with grace and go on. Walk the talk. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What I Learned From The Cold And Flu That You Can Too

“What happens to most of us when we get a cold or flu? We get symptoms, body aches and pains. It can be an uncomfortable time. Bottom line, we hurt. What actually is happening during this time is our body is fighting the infection, working to heal.

My household got sick. It is plenty tough for each person. I noticed something I have noticed each time I have been ill in my life. Our thoughts, mine sure did, focus on what is wrong. We pay attention to what isn’t right. It is certainly natural because it is not the norm.

For many of us, we not only focus on what is wrong but we talk about it. When asked, we tell others we don’t feel good. Some people can get very descriptive. This only focuses attention on it all the more. Again, we become aware of what feels different from normal.

Let Go Of Negativity – Focus On The Good – What’s Not Wrong

It isn’t wrong. Get that out of your head if you are thinking that. Pain is a signal the body needs to, or is, attending to some things. So, if you find your thoughts going to ‘woe is me’ don’t feel bad or guilty about it. However, I’d like to point something out.

For the most part, a cold or flu is over within a few weeks. Ultimately, you will feel better soon. Some strains, nowadays seem to endure much longer but the bottom line is you will get well. You are in the process of getting well while you are suffering. This is important.

I noticed my thoughts tend to go to what is wrong too. This time, each time, I noticed that occurring I shifted to what feels good or right. What I can do as opposed to what is wrong or what I can’t do. I emphasize the things I can do and am grateful for. It works, too!

What You Say Is What You Get – Affirm What You Want

I can breathe. I can sit. I can move. I can speak. I can think. I can see. I can hear. I can feel. I can sleep. I can eat. I am alive. I can plan. I am able to rest. I can read. I can watch movies. I can listen to audios. There is so much I am so lucky I can do each day. I am blessed now!

It does work wonders. I am not saying I have no discomfort, but it is  an important learning point we can all benefit from. Many things in life can be wrong or uncomfortable. We can, and do, have challenges each day. These draw our attention away from normal.

If we focus on them, they don’t get any better. If we focus on how and why our relationship is broken, how lonely we are, how much debt we have, how much we aren’t where we should be, how we aren’t enough or undeserving, or how much life sucks, guess what?

When You Focus On The Good – The Good Gets Better

We continue to perpetuate it. Ultimately, it might get better. Things usually do in time but we keep it going with what and how we think about it. It is natural, it is painful. Our attention is drawn to it, just like when we get ill. Perhaps, similarly, it is a way for us to heal.

Perhaps, the challenges, the disappointments, and the less than glorious feelings are there because within we are attempting to heal, to correct, to get over these and move forward, but our thoughts keep us locked in, at least temporarily, but it seems as if forever.

What we focus on we get more of. Illness is a prime time to learn to shift focus. I am not saying it is easy at first. As with any skill you get good at eventually, it takes practice and conditioning. Still, it is an opportunity to learn to grow and make things better for oneself.

Focus On The Good – Let Go Of The Bad – Life Is Too Short Not To

Gratitude works wonders in all cases. That shift of focus can be miraculous. When challenged look for the positive, the good, that which you are able to do, feel grateful for and enjoy. Emphasize these as much as possible. As within, so without. Focus.

It makes a difference for ourselves in our personal experience. I believe it can also make a difference in our social, political, economic areas as well. If we can draw our attention to what feels good, and is working, we can better find solutions. We can help changes occur.

Exercise: Find all that is right, and good, in the photo at the top. Meanwhile, drink plenty of water.  When ill, stay hydrated. It is also a great time to get rest. It is a break in normal activities. If you can appreciate that too, you are further ahead. Appreciate anything and everything you can. It works wonders. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
