How To Win When You’re Not Winning

“Don’t get discouraged when things go awry. Learn to stop and let go. Things go sideways a lot. Why spend your life with ups and downs? Why spend it frustrated? There is another way. You can find comfort and peace in the midst of turmoil if you choose to. You can!

Be open. Be available to what is. Let go. Let the universe, god, nature, your higher power have it. Trust that things will work out. We are always in process. We are always in the middle of things. How they turn out has a lot to do with our attitude and our thoughts.

If we resist and fight we create more of the very thing we are attempting to avoid or correct. If we adopt an attitude that there is a hidden opportunity or lesson in this, then we can look for the good and count our blessings. Surrender and let go. Do it again and again.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t – You Are Right 

Stop trying to figure it out. Stop mulling it over in our mind. Let go of the thoughts and the feelings. Become aware. Shift from not being resourceful to resourceful. Trust your higher power. It may seem difficult to find good in the bad but it is there. Look and find it.

Let go continually until you genuinely let go. Stop fighting. Discover what you can be grateful for when there doesn’t appear there is anything and you will be the winner. You will find your higher power. Practice gratitude in the face of adversity and you will sometime soon find peace. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

“Drop by drop fills the tub. It happens in time. If you keep moving forward you will get there eventually. Keep growing and keep enjoying.. What else is there to do? Hate the journey? Do you wish to be miserable all along the way until you get there?  That sucks!

That is a waste of your present. You are living too much in the future if you are noticing you aren’t there yet. You aren’t in the present enjoying how glorious it can be right now. You’re mentally elsewhere and it is robbing you of your life and your peace and happiness!

Whether you focus on the past and carry around pain or you focus on the future worried about it or upset that the good you desire hasn’t manifested yet, you are keeping all the good away. How To Stop Struggling And Find Peace

“Do you feel troubled or in turmoil? Are you fretting over a situation or a loved one, friend, or stranger? Are you letting your thoughts and emotions get the best of you? If this applies to you, stop, take a few deep breaths and as you breathe out let it all go. Simply, drop it.

You may find yourself needing or wanting to repeat this frequently. Here is why: we are used to having problems and troubles. We are comfortable being disturbed. We have worked on figuring out things all our life. It is our conditioning. We struggle. It is habitual!

Letting go of that takes us out of our comfort zone. We rebel inside. ‘Hey, wait, what is going on?’ Doubts, fears, anxiety arises. Why? Because we stop doing what we are used to doing. We don’t have a program for not struggling. Our subconscious scrambles now.

You Can’t Change The Circumstances You Can Change Yourself

We encounter limiting beliefs and feelings. It is homeostasis. Just like your thermostat. If it gets too warm it kicks in to cool down. If it gets too cool it kicks in to warm up. It is automatic and designed to keep us the same, doing the habits and conditioning we learned.

When we decide to take on a new goal or put an end to an old behavior these processes rear up attempting to keep us reliably as we were. That is why it seems difficult to change. Especially at first. We can change! We just need to practice the new behaviors enough.

We make new thoughts, feelings and action habit by repeating them over and over, for long enough, until they become automatic, reliable, new, positive habits. Then it’s easy again. Whatever we hope to do with ease we must first do with diligence. So we practice!

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

‘Today, I have decided I am at peace. I allow myself to let go and let god, the universe, source, or my higher power, whichever works for you, run the show. I caste my burden on the divine, so I may go free and be at peace.  I enjoy the peace that passes all understanding.’

One of the ways to help yourself most readily and easily change is to direct your mind to the positive through affirmations and questions. What you focus on expands. We get back what we think about. Energy flows where attention goes. Use the above affirmation.

Or create your own. Declare it with enthusiasm or ask it as questions. The point is to stay focused on what you want and let go of what you don’t want. Eliminate what you want to eliminate and focus on what you want to create, think, feel or do instead. Get it?

Change Begins The Moment You Honestly Decide To Change

Then, hang in there. Continue, persist, until you fashion and secure the new thoughts, feelings and behaviors you want to get. When you do transform in this way you begin to get new positive, wonderful results. Everything can change for the better, when you do!

Gratitude works wonders. If you are thankful even for your struggles, and can find blessings and lessons in them, you win! You set yourself up to feel better because you find the good in situations, or with people, that would have previously bothered you. Express your thankfulness for all. You truly transform, and will experience peace, joy and abundance when you learn to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What I Learned From Almost Drowning

“A number of years ago while vacationing in the Midwest I almost drowned in Lake Michigan. I had been swimming with friends but not paying attention and got caught far out late in the day. I tried to swim straight back to shore but kept getting pulled further out.

I was exhausting myself struggling against the waves. I realized this and then stopped struggling. I shifted onto my back and floated that way. Once horizontal one is more buoyant than vertical in the water. Fighting the waves, fear and treading water, tired me out. I stopped.

I relaxed and let the water hold me up. Good thing I thought to do this. I learned it while  swimming in the pool as a youngster. You don’t need much energy to just float. So I laid there but was getting carried further out. I needed to rest. Rest I did. Further out I went.

What You Resist Persists – Turn Resistance Into Assistance

Finally, I positioned myself in the water to assess my situation. It was then, from this relaxed place I noticed something I had learned about in a geology class in college. Waves hit the shore at an angle. They don’t line up going straight in. 45 degrees I think I recall.

I watched wave after wave hit the beach. Then it occurred to me to swim along the angle that the waves went in. I did. No longer did I fight against the waves and current. Now they carried me it. It still took quite a while to get back to shore but now I wasn’t fighting.

I was relaxed, calm and new I could make it. I was lifted up on the waves instead of trying to cut through them. Some 30 minutes or so later I was safe ashore. You may take any number of lessons from my experience I share. I will recount a couple I learned right then.

Stop  -Drop It – Go With The Flow –  Let The Current Carry You

I apply them to life as well. When fighting stop and relax. Struggle is exhausting. It doesn’t matter if you are struggling with others, yourself or circumstances the struggle will wear you out. Stop and relax. Let go. Get neutral or buoyant and then go with the flow.

Stop resisting because whatever you resist or struggle against persists. When you collect your resources, your energy and can resume in a resourceful state you will be far more productive. This lesson has saved my life and ass numerous times since.

Perhaps, you can benefit from my experience too. Keep a level head. Don’t let fear get the better of you. Relax, let go and let god. Learn how to be carried to your destination. You don’t have to fight. Give in to gratitude. Be thankful. Live and enjoy each moment. You are blessed more than you know. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Live Free Of Energy Vampires

“Never let wrongdoers spoil you day or your mood. Rise above the fray. Remain untouched while fighting for a better way. Never fall to their level. It only harms you and does little to affect them. Don’t fight fire with fire. Light doesn’t drive out darkness it just is light.

Love instead of hate. Take the higher road. Live stress free. Stop being distracted by news and media. There is far more good than not so good. Don’t get caught up. When you get caught up, distracted or predominantly negative you give away your power.

Power comes from within, not from without. Seek higher self. Seek higher counsel. Seek love and light. Stay optimistic. Keep the faith in what you can positively accomplish to bring good about. Don’t get caught in circumstances, events and energy vampires. Rise above!

Skill Comes Of Doing – The More You Do The More You Can Do

Live, love, laugh and learn from everything. All adversity contains seeds of learning and opportunity. You have to look. One door closes another opens. You decide how you live. You decide what your experience will be. You either react like knee jerk or you respond.

Fill your mind with positive and inspiring material. Hang out with optimistic, positive, good people. Listen to inspiring, motivational audios. Attend workshops where other high vibe people are. Speak only to bless, heal, prosper, inspire and motivate. Create good!

Responding is from choice and from you higher self and from power. So be grateful. Fill yourself with light. Meditate. Let go. Seek peace and joy. Allow peace and light to fill you. Receive. Be thankful. Consider everything a blessing. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Let Go Find Peace: How To End Feeling Stressed

“In today’s world there is much stress. There is nothing wrong with stress, it is our reaction or response to it that either makes it a liability or an asset. Stress can make people motivated to excel or it can debilitate and lead to dis-ease. How we are affected is up to us.

If we do nothing but react and let it build up we may find ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritual challenged. It will take its toll. One way to alleviate stress is to meditate and seek to be peaceful. Seek peace. Allow and let go. Drop judgement. Go inside.

Most of our reactions to stress are to external events, people or circumstances. Left unresolved, it piles up. All sorts of issues then may result. However, if you learn to stop, drop inside, breathe deeply and slowly and relax and let go you can free yourself of stress.

Meditation Dissolves The Invisible Walls Of Stress 

Seek peace. Think peace. Intend peace and simply breath slowly and deeply. Consider doing it for 20 minutes each day. Even a few seconds of real peace can provide hours of lasting benefit. If you can’t do 20 do less. The point is just do it. You can do something.

Throughout the day, whenever you can safely, close your eyes, think peace and breathe. Chill out. Relax for a few moments or more if you can. Whether at the office, home or at play, find moments to let go. Obviously, not while driving or operating heavy machinery. Inside the peace your mind, body and emotions will find calm. It is true.

Take time for yourself. Think nothing. If your mind wanders onto topics, gently guide it back to peace, by returning to notice your breath. Do all without judgement. Whatever is, is. Let go. Rest. Trust. You can’t do it wrong. Simply, take time for yourself to be. Get it?

Meditation Dissolves What Unawareness Causes

When you finish you can slowly open your eyes. Reorient to daily activity and notice you will take the calm, peace and tranquility with you. Feel free to express joy and gratitude. The more often you retreat into this peace the longer the benefits last. You will transform yourself. So, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Let Go And Live!

“Become aware that you can drop your investment in your troubles. Stop living in the past and fearing the future. Become aware. Live in the present. Caste your burden on the divine. Put it on source. Give it over. Let it go. Come to the now. Become light and lite. Just be.

Find your inner peace. Meditate. Your perceptions, based on your past, limited, negative conditioning keeps you burdened and down. Free yourself. Stop living in fear, anger, regret, anxiety or doubt. Drop into the present and experience the now. Become renewed.

Refresh. Awareness is the key. Stop focusing on the less than glorious. Let go. Let it all go. Take moments to just attend to your breath. Breathe slowly. Focus on life breath coming into your lungs and going out. Feel the rise and fall of your belly with each breath.

Meditation Is Celebrating Yourself – You Are Divine – Be Aware

Whenever distracted simply return your attention to your breath. Spend 5, 10 15, minutes simply, gently, attending to your in and out breath. Let everything else go. Let it fade away. Gently attend to your breathing. Do this daily, at least once or twice. Find peace.

Notice your breath and stay with it. When finished allow yourself to carry the peacefulness, you enjoyed, into your day. The more you let go and meditate the longer you will feel the benefits. You will discover eventually ‘the peace that passes all understanding.’ As you continue during your day be grateful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Stop Resisting Start Assisting Or Remain Stuck: Your Choice

“Much of anger, intolerance, resentment stems from fear. Fear drives people much more than we think. From fear these other emotions and attitudes arise. We fight, freeze or flee. When confronted and opposed most of us get entrenched. We stay stuck.

We resist. What we resist, persists. When we resist we pour energy into precisely what we do not want. Hence, we get more of what we precisely do not want. That IS being and staying stuck. You must let go of the fear, resentment, anger, negative emotions to be free.

You can sit with it, acknowledge it, stop judging and just be with it, THEN you need to let go and move on to more positive emotions. Don’t blame yourself because that only makes it worse. Let it all go. Shift! Move from the less than glorious to the glorious. Do it!

Do What You Always Did – You Will Get What You Always Got

Let go and let god. Whatever a ‘higher power’ is for you; source, god, infinite intelligence, inner self. Let go and trust. What we resist persists but nothing can resist a nonresistant person. If you don’t push there is nothing to push back against. Water is fluid.

Water works its way around. Become more fluid and stop resisting. When we let go and drop resisting anything becomes possible. Then there is no fight. Withdraw the energy from what you do not want and put the attention and energy on what you do want. Trust you can make what you want to happen, happen.This is how you can become free. Change your focus. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Stop Being Dick-Headed

“There are those who are open and skeptical. There are those who are skeptical and closed. There are those who are closed, skeptical and cynical. These are the one’s we typically call ‘a dick’. Or we call them something worse. Bottom line: Stop being a dick! Yes, you!

Me too! Stop being a dick. Drop dick-headedness and seek to be a new and different, open person. I prefer the term agnostic. Why agnostic?  Because we really don’t know what we don’t know. We only know what we THINK we know and that is not very much.

We don’t know how things might turn out but we often fear the worst. We could expect the best, yet only a few do. We just don’t know how much we don’t know either. It is true fools think they know everything. They think they have the only correct version.

We Don’t Know What We Don’t Know And We Don’t Know That

Those foolish people are closed minded. They refuse to see the many sides of every proposition. Don’t you think it odd many of us claim to know everything. Not only that we claim to know what is best for everyone else too. Pretty sad when you think about it. Narrow!

Yet, that is the way of the world. That happens when people create societies. We end up pursuing norms more than we pursue exceptions. We swallow the cultural kool-aid on how we are limited, broken, victims and worse. We can think otherwise but don’t/

We don’t because most don’t fully realize they could. So instead of discovering new ways of being they defend to old vehemently. They don’t need to but they feel as if they do. We could argue over objective versus subjective ‘truth’ endlessly. We’d waste time.

Stop Defining Yourself By Your Limits – Have A Parachute Mind

There are militant minded people of all persuasions. I prefer staying as open and educated and enlightened as possible without taking any of it too seriously. I prefer to learn and continue to learn, to discover and to grow and expand what I think is possible. Don’t you?

So stay open. Decide to become aware when you react instead of respond. Decide to learn how to master that tendency so you can become freer. Seek to find the good in all situations. Stop being quick to judge and allow things to unfold without bias. Let go. LET GO!

When you stop defending the old you have more energy to nurture the new. Look for the blessings, the positive. Speak to bless, heal and prosper. Focus on gratitude and joy. Be happy. Find moments and make them magical. All moments are! Every moment you have is the only moment you  have. Don’t squander the moments. Savor them. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
