Drop The Crap, The Labels, The Diagnoses And Break Free Right Now!

“You must absolutely understand this! You are not your problems! You are not your diagnosis! You are not the labels you wear! You are bigger than your problems, your diagnosis and your labels. You have been conditioned to accept these BUT YOU ARE NOT THESE!

You are beyond your problems and labels. You are more than the hat you chose to wear and the job that puts money in your wallet. You are more than a son or daughter, sister or brother, mother or father you are more than you can even begin to imagine. Become aware!

You are divine! You are light, love, goodness, and happiness. You are resourcefulness and clever. You are smart and you are wise. You are vibrating energies. You are unlimited, invincible and unstoppable. You are whatever you declare yourself to be. Affirm the positive!

Labels Are For Products Not For People 

Stop declaring your limitations and begin exercising your power to choose. Decide to live without the limitations of labels. Do not own what others say about you or to you. Do not own a diagnosis from a medical or mental practitioner. You can work with it but don’t own it.

It is not your illness. It is not your problem. It is not your limitation unless you accept it as such. You can understand a diagnosis and get assistance with it without owning it or labeling yourself as diseased, or broken. Let go of the labels and create what you want instead.

If you have been labeled by self or others, diagnosed by self or others let these go. Create what you want. Create sound health in mind and body. Practice good healthy mind and body practices. GET the treatment you require without owning the issue.

Never Accept A Negative Label – Stop Labeling – Start Living

Don’t make it yours. What you want to make yours is freedom, life, light, love, passion, enjoyment, positive energy; wealth IN health, mind, body, spirit and emotions. Create the you that you want to be. Never settle for anything less than the very finest. Live large.

Stop affirming problems. Live your dreams. Express your dreams and desires. Align your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in positive powerful ways. Stop allowing the old way to rain on the new way. Take charge. Live as you are meant to.  Live fully! Live, love, laugh!

Enjoy! Free yourself from mental and physical constraints. Look to examples like Hellen Keller, blind, deaf, mute from birth. She didn’t let that stop her. Sean Stevenson had physical challenges but didn’t let that prevent him from become a dynamic force for change.

Address The Actions – Make Positive Changes – Don’t Wear Labels

Create yourself as the person you want to be. Declare it! Affirm it! Make it happen with positive emotional energy. Love yourself. Live in gratitude. Speak only about those things you want to include!  Drop concerns and comments that are less than glorious. Let them go!

Declare your life as you want it to be. Work on YOU daily. There is so much that is good, wonderful and beyond anything you can presently image. You will miss it if you don’t work on yourself. Free yourself up to see the advantages and opportunities. Do it now!

Now is the only time you have. Live right now. Find what there is to appreciate and savor it. Free yourself of labels and move forward with power and awareness. You are the author of your life. What is your book about? Script the life you want NOW and LIVE IT!

You Never Succeed By Repeating Your Failures: Change This Today!

“You want things to be different. You want it to get better.  How do you make the changes? What do you first do?  How do you change habits? How do you gain control over your thoughts? You do it through awareness. Awareness is the first step of the process.

First, you must become aware of the old conditioning, the old negativity, and recognize while you are in the midst of it. If you don’t know when you are engaged in an old, less than glorious, or destructive pattern, you won’t be able to alter it.

Eventually, you will notice when it engages earlier. You will become more aware as it initiates so you can take control and shift it over to the new positive thinking. As you do this you free yourself from the old conditioning and replace it with the new habits you desire.

Your Life Won’t Change Unless You Change What You Do Daily

Awareness. It works like this. If you want to end anger, fear or negative self talk, anything, you change how you respond to it after you notice it. Most people do what they don’t want to and when they realize it feel bad, criticize themselves and feel worse. They shame.

Sadly, that doesn’t work to change it. What you do instead is, after the fact, you celebrate that you noticed you did the old behavior. You pat yourself on the back. You embrace yourself for becoming aware. You stop criticizing the old behavior and appreciate the awareness.

Your changes won’t happen overnight but through time. You didn’t become the age you are overnight. It took time. This won’t take as long but it is a process. Each time, every tim, you notice the  less than glorious thinking or behaviors note it on paper. Keep track.

Awareness Is The First Step To Change – Apply What You Learn

Soon you will notice it while it is going on. You will notice it earlier and earlier. When you accept it and appreciate yourself you train yourself to notice what you want to notice. You are not conflicted, nor divided. You do not perpetuate the old as you had been.

This is the first part of the process. You become aware and you notate each time it occurs. You actually stop and put down a hashmark or some notation that works for you. It requires that you discipline yourself to do this. If you want it enough, you’ll do it.

A powerful way to change your thinking from less than glorious to more glorious is to keep a diary. Keep a diary of every negative thought you think. Whenever you complain or blame jot it down. Whenever you make an excuse jot it down. Keep track!

The Secret Of Success Is In Your Daily Routine And Habits

Keep an on going track of all the negative or less than glorious thoughts you think. Every time you blame god, the universe, the weather, the government, traffic, your boss, spouse, kids, neighbors, dog or alarm clock stop and notate that you are thinking negative.

Stop, then switch it to a positive thought. Change it. Stop complaining. Start accepting responsibility for your life whether directly responsible or not. Assume ALL responsibility. If you want to change your life you have to change what you think and do.

For example, you discover yourself thinking, or saying out loud to yourself or others, ‘it is hard to make money in this economy’, or ‘I’m late because there was too much traffic on the road this morning’, or ‘you can’t be happy all the time’. Any less than glorious statement.

Stop Expecting Things And Others To Change – You Go First

Stop, note it and think or say, ‘it isn’t the economy that determines my wealth it is me. I create the exact amount of money I want.’ or something positive to that effect. ‘I was late because I didn’t get on the road early enough. I was late because I was late.’ Accept it.

You can affirm, ‘I will start earlier’, or ‘I can learn to be on time’, or ‘I accept responsibility for being on time’, or ‘I am always on time’, or ‘if it is to be it is up to me’. What it is that you desire to be is how you phrase your positive declaration. Affirm what you want.

“I can be happy because I choose to be happy. Happiness is a choice’. Switch the old thought out for something positive and more productive. Accept responsibility for everything. When you accept 100% responsibility for EVERYTHING that happens, things change.

Change Brings Opportunity – Opportunity Brings Change

All negative thoughts, excuses, complaints and blames are negative declarations. They are negative affirmations. They keep you stuck in old chronic thinking. All worry is negative planning for the future. Stop! Become aware and change your thinking. Take charge.

When you do you learn a great and powerful lesson to apply everywhere. You learn that if you created your present, less than desirable circumstances, you can uncreate them. You can’t do that if you keep living as a victim of circumstances.

You need to live as a victor. You need to dictate the circumstances and not be governed by them. Champions don’t blame others or the world. They know if they are going to prevail and remain a champion it is completely up to them. Their mindset is a winning mindset.

Awareness Allows You To Get Outside Your Mind And Observe It

You need to manage and control your thoughts and not be run  by old chronic negative conditioning. It is time you put yourself in the driver’s seat of your mind and your life. You can create something new and better. It begins with awareness.

It begins noticing how often you give away your power. You do it each time you make an excuse, ‘the traffic was heavy’, ‘the dog ate my homework’ You usurp your own power and authority by complaining and blaming. Claim it back. Notice when you do it.

Notice how often you do it. Keep track in your diary. Doing this will draw you attention to it. As you notice and catch yourself again and again, AND then shift the negative thought, or talk, to a positive statement, you will slip up less and less. You will transform!

We Do Not See Things As They Are – We See Things As We Are

Fewer and fewer times will you blame and excuse. More and more often you will catch it and shift it to the positive and productive. You will continue to notice sooner and sooner. You keep shifting your attention to the positive until you build a positive new success habit.

Once it is a habit it will work reliably and automatically. You will find yourself thinking more powerfully positive as a result. All of your life can change as you change your thinking. Just as a ripple moves outward and grows bigger and affects more so do your thoughts.

Change your thoughts and your feelings change. With new thought and feeling your actions become positively inspired. As you continue to act more positively you develop new success habits which in turn can lead to new, positive results. Your life improves. Get it?

Being Aware Isn’t The Absence Of Mistakes But Correcting Them

The more you do it the easier it is to do and the better results you get. It begins by developing your awareness of the old triggers and gently, lovingly, replacing them. Accept, allow, adapt and adopt a new way of being.  You appreciate, notate, and shift to the positive.

Awareness grows the more it is exercised. You abilities do so, too. Keep at it. Commit to the process and you will begin to see improvement. Many people give up before they succeed. Stop, be different. Don’t be one of the crowd. Learn to be a victor instead.

Become a champion! It isn’t always easy but it isn’t as hard as people ‘think’ it will be. It is simple to make changes. You plant seeds, nurture them and they grow. One day you reap the benefits. Be glad. Be eager, be excited. Practice gratitude along the way. Appreciate and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Personal Change And Social Change: Can We Have Both? Pt3

“How do we change ourselves? How do we change the world around us? What are we to do to make a real difference for ourselves and others? This world seems to be in turmoil, perhaps you are too? What can be done?  Become more aware. That is the first step.

Notice when your thinking holds you back. Pay attention when you think and feel less than glorious about anything. Learn to control your own thought process and aim it positively towards positive change. Become a beacon of light to yourself and others. Transform!

Worrying Does Not Empty Tomorrow Of Its Troubles …

When you feel less than glorious it is an indication, an alert signal, to pay attention to what is going on inside you. Many simply feel bad and then think worse thoughts. These moments are an OPPORTUNITY to change your thoughts not succumb to them.

Throughout this blog I have devoted much discussion to how to do this. Thought leaders new and old have too. Study and apply these principles and practices to take control of your own thinking. Change your thinking and you change your life. Begin now.

If you haven’t already. The key to change is to start changing and not to wait. Don’t try to figure it out in advance. That only delays it. Begin to take positive steps in the direction you want to go. Then keep moving forward bit by bit. This is important to understand.

… Worrying  Empties Today Of Its Strength – End Worry

You  go as far as you can see and when you get there you will see farther. Edison didn’t know how to make a lightbulb until after he succeeded. Until then he tried many different things. He learned from each and kept going because he knew his purpose.

Edison wanted to light the planet with electric light. The Wright Brothers wanted to fly. Ford wanted to make autos affordable. Martin Luther King and Gandhi wanted to unite people. Purpose drives the show. Be clear on the purpose! Believe you can succeed.

Then do whatever you have to positively to make it happen. Never give up. You may fail many times. Difficulty abounds. But keep heading in the direction that you want. Gandhi managed to do it and captured the imagination of two hundred million people.

Change You May Lose Something Good But Gain Something Better

We can do it. We may be out monied, out powered, out everything but if we want it enough we will find a way. Small groups have made an incredible difference. There is an awesome power of one AND an even more awesome power of the many all of one mind.

The experts of the day always say things can’t be done. ‘If man were meant to fly god would have provided wings!’ The public didn’t see any need for electric light when they had oil lamps nor did they want electric horses when they had real live ones.

After succeeding in their endeavors these innovators had to market their ideas to others. The world wasn’t waiting and inviting these changes. They had to be convinced it was a good idea and that they would benefit. Resistance, inertia, always needs to be overcome.

Change – Will It Be Easy – Nope – Worth It – Absolutely – Change

Gandhi united the people’s minds for the cause. It can be done. It can be done with positive thought, positive feelings, energy and positive behavior. We can make profound personal changes and profound world changes when we are convinced we can. Faith! Have faith!

We must believe we can. We must be driven to one day embrace the changes we now want. If we don’t believe it is possible we will never attempt it. If we don’t do anything we won’t influence the results. We will endure whatever results there are. Change is in our hands!

If you want to change the world it begins at home. It begins with you. Then your family, friends, neighborhood, community and more. It starts in one small place, as a ripple does, and radiates outward. YOU can positively influence yourself and your life. Yes, you and I can!

To Light A Million Candles From Just One Yours Must Be Lit First

We all can. We need to come together to do it. We need to create a massive mastermind whose purpose is harmony, love, peace,  and positivity. If that seems daunting we need to change our attitude about it. We attract everything we think and feel.

If we fear, doubt, hate and are negative we get more of the same. To live a different reality we must conceive it, have a vision, and a purpose. We must believe we can and act in accord with our higher positive principles and then we can achieve it. We CAN do it!

It is up to each of us. We need to unite within ourselves and align ourselves congruently to attract and create our dreams. We need to do the same as people. The chaos experienced in the world may be a signal to each of us about what we can do. It can be and is a blessing.

If You Can’t Change It Then Change The Way You Think About It 

As more people wake up a new dawn is possible. It may not happen overnight because evolution takes time. Hopefully, we evolve ourselves into a more loving, peaceful, accepting people and enjoy this amazing world in ways that surpass our present imagination.

How do we change? How do we change the world. Each of use transforms ourself to live the life we can. We transform ourselves to become a powerful force for positive change. We determine to clean up our own act and let our light shine for others to see.

We stop yelling and fighting and trying to convert people to our way of thinking and being. Instead we live wonderfully, peacefully, lovingly and positively and live as an example. We invite but don’t force. We respond and don’t react or attack.

Use Your Smile To Change The World – Everyday An Opportunity

We get busy living the good life and have fun. We stay focused on what is good and what is important. We don’t waste time in frivolous, less than glorious arguments and distractions. We aim our powerful resources like a laser beam toward positive outcomes.

How do we do this? Dream big. Delight in all. Use everything as a learning opportunity. Learn from it. Open up. Accept, allow and receive. Become generous givers and excellent receivers. Follow the golden rule and go the extra mile in helping benefit others.

Consider everything a blessing and opportunity to grow from. Obstacles and challenges are also causes for celebration. The rose plant comes with thorns. Understand the way of the universe. All IS divine.  Be grateful always and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know And It Is Stopping You From Getting What You Want

“Your personal blind spot. You can’t see it. You aren’t even aware of it. You don’t know it exists. Others may, but you don’t. You don’t know what you don’t know. You can’t. You are unable to. You need to become aware of what you don’t know because it IS  limitation.

What you don’t know IS limiting you. How do you become aware of what you do not know? You rely on others who DO know what you don’t and can see that you don’t know it. These become your mentors and coaches, your teachers, guides and consultants

These become your trainers or sages. They can help you begin to see what you can’t yet. Those who are where you want to be and have started from where you started are most qualified because they have been where you are and have gone where you want to go.

Minds Are Like Parachutes They Only Work When Open

How willing are you to learn? How teachable are you? Can you stay open? For most people the three words that cause most trouble are ‘I know that.’ People stop, when they think they know something. Often, they only know about something. They are informed.

They hear a presenter speaking about something they have only read about and they think or say, ‘I know that’. Instead of staying open and listening and learning. If you really knew THAT why are you getting the lackluster results you are getting? Hmmmmmm?

If you really KNEW that you’d be applying it in a way to make your life better. To KNOW and not to DO is to not know. Information is only power when you USE IT to transform. Knowing is the ability to take inspired action not just satisfying intellectual information.

You Can’t See Your Own Face Without A Mirrored Reflection

Get it? If you think you know something how are you using it to transform your experience into something more grand? How are you assisting others in making positive changes? If you aren’t yet, you can. Stop! Let go of being right. Allow yourself to be humble.

You may need some assistance so be willing to allow the right others to guide you. Invest in yourself. You may need a book or some audio material, a mentor, a program or coaching and training.  You may not but allow yourself to be helped in moving yourself forward.

Walk the path with someone else. Let them support you. Allow it. Look, listen, learn and apply. The proper fruit of knowledge is action. The most important thing one can do is stay open, be available and use what you are learning. Make the changes you want.

Be Willing To Listen To Those People Who Have What You Want

Get feedback. Get feedback from the results you get and from others. Learn from everything. Evaluate and apply the feedback. Be careful to not just dismiss it. Awareness and understand are the two first steps to change. You don’t change unless you DO something.

That may be changing your thoughts because mindset is the first BIG piece. Get the mindset, the attitude, the thoughts right. Your feelings will follow and help you produce the right actions. Performing the right actions, consistently for long enough to become habits.

You want success habits that lead to successful results. We already have some success habits and some not success habits. We have those that support us and those which don’t. We have habits of doing and habits of not doing. If results suck you need new habits.

Listen To Those People Who Are Already Doing What You Want To

If you can’t see it, or you ‘already know that’ but you aren’t changing AND you want to, then find someone who can help you take the steps that serve you. Get you head on straight and bring your best game. It is great to have assistance from the correct sources.

Maps exist to help you reduce the amount of time it takes to get from place to place. They exist because people who already know they way shared the way. Some maps are incorrect so be sure you choose your sources wisely.  Listen to the correct sources.

If those around you say it can’t be done, and are not doing it, while there are others who are, they don’t know either. They have made up their minds against it. Be respectful, be polite, love them anyway and find those who are doing it already to guide you. Choose!

Tour Guides Exist To Point Out What You Might Otherwise Miss

Be open to the feedback from the right sources. Learn from it and apply it. Be grateful for opportunities and for those who support you. You are blessed when you discover those right mentors who care enough to be there for you. Enjoy your guides and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Change Or Eliminate Prior Past Conditioning So You Can Get What You Want

“What your life is like today is the result of prior past conditioning and decisions. You learned and co-opted beliefs and values from others while growing up. You came to some of your own conclusions, based on those you co-opted, from experiences you had.

You believe you are a free agent and independent thinker. To some extent that is accurate. Another way to consider this is that your mental mindset was formed before you had choices about it. You got it from others, it is habitual and it runs the show.

Your reactions are wired in. You are preprogrammed, it works reliable and it makes you predictable. We all are. This is both marvelous and not so marvelous. On the marvelous side it means we are able to learn and learned while very young and very well.

Your Past Never Defines Your Future If You Don’t Allow It

It operates without much conscious thought so it is reliable and consistent. We don’t have to relearn things over and over again. It works well for us. We are resourceful in many ways. We are conditioned and able to function perfectly.

The down side is much of what we learned is outdated. It served us better at one time than now. It is mostly other people’s opinions of life and of ourself that we live from, rather than our own. It can run counter to our own conscious desires and goals.

At the same time it may be why we have certain desires and goals and not others. We are a mix of really wonderful incredible processes and abilities and some not so great software, to use an analogy. If we have some faulty software we get faulty results.

Your Future Is Programmed By Your Thoughts Not Your Past

If your life is crap it is because you ALREADY, outside of you own awareness, decided it is crap. The decision was made for you, by you, out of the old chronic conditioning. Your very own habits determine how you would react to things.  Do you understand this?

Your prior programming is both a blessing, it truly is, and a limitation, it truly is. It is absolutely both. Many good and wonderful things have come about because of who and what you are. Some limitations present themselves too. Don’t succumb to blaming self or others.

You are both wonderfully resourceful and limited. Accept yourself and love yourself for who you are. Your past condition is not unchangeable. Some of your past is excellent too. Remember that. You can keep the good while ridding yourself of limitations.

Let Go Of The Limitations Of The Past And Keep The Good Past

Since these programs, this conditioning runs on and on, consistently and reliably, if you want to change things YOU have to do it now. Others programmed you in the past but now only YOU can change that programming. This next piece is important to understand.

You react before you have any awareness of what is happening. That is how the brain works. It learns to do things and then it does them automatically. Something internal or external triggers a programs and away it goes. It runs on and on, often, before you even know it.

Until or unless something happens to alter it or stop it, it does what it learned to do.  Habits are wired in. There are good habits and good programs that run a lot of your life. There are other habits many might label less than glorious. We are a mix of many things.

The Best Way To Predict Your Future Is To Create It

For example, getting very mad because traffic is ‘bad’. You don’t have to. Some people don’t, but, you do because that is what you’ve always done. Somewhere at sometime you reacted that way enough until it became a reliable neural highway! It became habit.

You could have learned it from parents. If a particular role model always yelled and screamed at traffic, it is reasonable that you might. It isn’t written in stone that you would, but there is a good chance you learned to do similar things. Experience and modeling shapes us.

Chemicals squirt and electric impulses fire off in a particular sequence and voila’ ROAD RAGE! It is reliable. It is automatic. It happens so fast. It happens nearly every time. You live with road stress. You’d prefer not to but you haven’t changed it, yet.

Everything Is A Blessing – A Learning – An Opportunity 

Imagine this occurs day and night, to work and back. That is NO way to spend your time. It is no way to spend your time in a car. Some people are worse, but many others are far better. They aren’t bothered at all about traffic. For others it may be a mild nuisance.

The only way to change it IS to change it. You have to get inside and make a new decision before the old one fires off.  BUT how on earth can you do that? How do you extinguish the chronic behavior? You have to teach the brain ‘Not That’ but ‘This’ instead.

You have to train your brain to NOT DO THAT but to do this other thing instead. You have to shift from rage to relaxed. HOW? Awareness is the key. You can’t get inside before the trigger results in a flood of electro-chemical activity.

You Have A Rare And Unprecedented Opportunity Before You

You must catch it shortly afterwards. The sooner the better. SO you must become sensitized to what sets it off. You must know the trigger. You must know the trigger point. You do this by deciding to change it. That is the first step. You make a decision.

You catch yourself after it happens and re-direct it. This is one way to approach changing it. The other is to pre-program what you want. Imagine it, visualize it, the way you want it to go instead. I’ll discuss this aspect in another blog post soon. Stay tuned.

One thing you can’t do successfully is think ‘I won’t get angry’ or I will not get angry.’ What is the key word in that sentence? Angry, right. SO if all the rest of the sentence weren’t there what are you left with? Angry. If you take away, ‘won’t’ and ‘not’, what have you?

Start Your Day With A Smile – Enjoy Every Moment Of Your Life

You are left with the thought ‘I will get angry’. The mind doesn’t accept negatives. It works only on positives. Similar to computers that function by code the brain has its own way of doing things. It says yes to everything. It ignores and doesn’t process, the ‘no’.

If you say, ‘I won’t overeat’ you are communicating ‘I’ll overeat’. If you say, ‘I do not want to be poor’ you are saying ‘I want to be poor’. Your subconscious responds to your thoughts AS commands. It does what you are telling it not to do, over and over again, habitually.

To begin to change you must change your thoughts and language by rote repetition and will. You must specify and say what you want. If you say, ‘I will only eat healthy’ does you brain know what you intend? It is better to specify. ‘I will eat green leafy vegetables.’

You Can Change Your Life – What We Think We Become

You can soften it a bit, at first, by saying, ‘I will learn to enjoy eating green leafy vegetables’ or ‘I will eat green leafy vegetables and like it.’ If you say ‘I want more money’. How much is more? 50 cents, a dollar or two is more money. Will that satisfy? Specify the amount.

Say, ‘I will make an extra 50 dollars a week.’ Or whatever amount you actually believe you can make. If you said a million, while it may be possible, it certainly is, if you don’t believe you can do it right now, start with a smaller amount you do believe and work your way up.

Then you get things working together for you. It’s important to believe your new declarations. If you say, ‘I will exercise everyday’ and you don’t believe it, chose a number of times you know you will and start with that. Then gradually add to it. Work up to it.

Believe You Can – Believe You Can – Believe You Can – Believe

Success breeds confidence and confidence breeds success. The more you successfully take small steps toward a positive outcome the more likely you will succeed. You will build your wins and as a result win more often. Drop by drop the tub gets filled.

It begins with awareness. The first awareness is that you want to make a change. Specify and clarify what you want in positive terms. Say, ‘I will behave in loving ways towards my children when they…’ rather than ‘I won’t get mad or upset when they…’

Know what you want. Specify it. Use positive phrasing for the declaration. You subconscious doesn’t care what you choose so you must. If you say, ‘I am stupid’ you subconscious mind says, ‘YUP’. If you say ‘I am smart’ your subconscious mind says ‘YUP’.

This Is Your Life Shape It – Take Charge Of It – Or Someone Else Will

Either way it will find examples from your past and your circumstances that demonstrate precisely what you said you were, stupid or smart. So learn to clean up your language. Whenever you utter something that leads to a bad conclusion you can change it.

The instant you hear yourself utter a less than glorious phrase, think or say, ‘Cancel’. or ‘Cancel that’ and change it to a positive phrase. You can think or say to others if you slip, ‘That is what I used to say in my past’ or some variation of that.

Put any behavior you don’t want into your past. That is something you used to do, but ‘thank goodness, I do ________ (insert positive behavior or thought) instead’. Become aware when you make assertions or declare how things are, when you don’t want them.

The Smallest Things You Do Can Lead To The  Biggest Changes

Assert and declare what you want even if you don’t have it yet. You will eventually because you focus your mind on what you want to go after instead of what you don’t want. It will go after either without care, so you must determine which is goes after the most. Get it?

Clean up your language. Place less than glorious behaviors and thoughts into the past. Frame it in your mind as something you used to do but thankfully you are wiser now and you think and do better things. Stop reinforcing what you do not want. Is this clear?

Reinforce ONLY what you do want. Whenever you think ‘I don’t want that’ STOP and switch the thought and the utterance to what it is you do want. Clarify what you want and affirm that. ‘I want this’! This is how you begin to train you brain and mind to work for you.

Age Is Of No Importance Unless You’re A Cheese Or A Wine

You train it to work for you to do what you want it to, instead of what it learned to do while you were very young and not in charge of it. NOW you take charge. Whenever you ask yourself a less than glorious question you change the thought and the language too.

When you catch yourself asking things like, ‘Why do things always suck for me?’ or ‘why am I unlucky?’ STOP and ask yourself a positively phrased question instead. Cancel the first and ask ‘Why I am I so blessed that good always happens for me?’ or ‘How come I am so lucky?’ Phrase it in the positive for yourself and ask away!

To change you must change what you are doing and do something you rarely did or never did before. You must clean up your thoughts and those things you say to yourself. A useful exercise would be to write out the limiting statements and questions you make .

I Am A Product Of My Decisions Not My Circumstances

Then write out their opposite positive statement or question. Take your ‘will nots’ and make them ‘I wills.’ Create a  list for yourself of the ones you know you do. The others, you aren’t aware of, you will catch as you make progress. You can absolutely change this!

You can end what holds you back and begin living in a new, positive, delightful way. Remember, every declaration you make about you, others, your circumstances, anything that follows the words ‘am’ ‘have’ ‘is’ or ‘are’, are affirmations, whether positive or not.

Stop negatively affirming and your life will improve. You get what you focus on. Stop putting energy and attention on the less than glorious and put it onto the positive and glorious. Focus on the good right now in you, others and your circumstances and your future.

If You Want Success Start Thinking Of Yourself As A Success

You will make the invisible good that you desire, the good you don’t yet have, visible and you’ll come to own it as you focus on creating it for yourself. Be proactive! Make these changes and you will bring about incredible opportunities and blessings.

Never Let Circumstances Bring You Down – Learn To Live Triumphantly

“Have you ever been on a roll and then excrement hits the fan? What’s up with that? Have you wondered, ‘WTF?’ You are riding high and then something comes along and levels the field or worse. It might suck, right? What if it didn’t have to? What would that be like?

Yesterday was a very different day from Monday’s blissful day. Some might say, the day presented some challenges. Certainly, there were numerous situations. For the purposes of illustration I’ll call them challenges. Still, the days WAS blissful and wonderful. One example.

Everywhere I drove during rush hour was jammed up. Each road I took, for the span over an hour, was a dead end, no outlet road, and detours to nowhere. It was amazing. I never before experienced anything quite like this. It was a twilight zone like.

Words Are Seeds – Be Careful What You Plant

I drove around trying to get out of a certain section that bounded a freeway and had construction, road and building, all around. After driving and trying each turn only to find it ultimately blocked I found one back road open! Hooray! Except it was closed by an accident!

There was no getting around it. I backed up, tried going back the way I came, to look for other avenues of escape. Finally, I found a way out. Once I got out I turned onto a major road which went up and over a bridge. As I got onto the bridge all traffic stopped. I was stuck.

I couldn’t go forward or turn back around. A truck broke down on the bridge shutting it down to one lane. Traffic was slowly merging right to go around. It was a good long while. I had never seen the traffic this congested, in this area, as far back as I can remember.

All That We Are Is The Result Of Our Thoughts

It was a different sort of busy driving day. After about an hour I managed to drive on into much more heavier bumper to bumper traffic. In my teen years in L A I’d have had road rage to the max. It was pretty tempting yesterday to let go and get angry about it.

Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to realize getting upset wouldn’t have changed the situations. I’d be stuck in traffic and mad, instead of stuck in traffic. Plus, as I have often pointed out, traffic is a fantastic place to learn to surrender and let go. So walk the talk, Rex.

I relax, and let go. I decided to assume I had created all this JUST especially for me. This is my mental construct, my fantasy. I wanted to discover, IF I had engineered this, or god or universe or whatever, why, what lesson might I take from it? Multiple lessons o’plenty!

Change Your Thinking And You Change Your Life

I examined and reflected. I gleaned insights for myself that I think are useful. Most importantly, the trite aphorism comes to mind, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. How do you make the best of a bad situation? If you label it bad to begin with, it’s tougher.

It is better not to label it anything at all. Don’t call it a problem or a challenge or an obstacle. It just is. Why start one down? It is what it is. The less we label the better off we are sometimes. Perhaps, we call it a situation or an opportunity. Yes, call it an opportunity.

Some think I must be mad. An opportunity! I can almost here them exclaim it. What are you outta your mind? Yes, I absolutely hope so. I hope I am out of the conditioning that says, if you have a hammer you treat everything as a nail. Problems do not make you feel good.

Thoughts Create Your Reality – Choose Your Thoughts Wisely

Opportunity may make you feel good. So it is an opportunity to relax, let go, enjoy sitting still, reflect, people watch, take a breather, learn from the situation. It IS whatever you decide it is. You determine whether it is good or bad. It is ALWAYS  YOUR choice.

Whether others agree isn’t the point. You can find plenty for whom misery loves company. You can band together and complain long and hard and it won’t change anything except your emotional state for the worse. Fewer will choose to look at it as a blessing. Yet, it is.

IF YOU decide it is. Everything IS as it is. You decide whether it is a blessing or not. As for me, I prefer that there are more blessings and opportunities than problems and obstacles. I want my blessing ration high so I declare more things blessings than otherwise.

Once You Become Aware Of How Powerful Your Thoughts Are …

You want to learn mental control? You want to be more resourceful?You want to live a better life? THEN live blessed and filled with gratitude! Enjoy everything. I point this out, this happening yesterday for a reason.  Some think, well it’s easy if your life is easy.

Some think, positive thinking is wearing rose tinted glasses. Some think, easy for you to say if you don’t have any challenges or face everyday constraints like the rest of us. I do, you do, we all do. Few lived charmed lives and aren’t touch by hurt or despair. Few, maybe.

Most everyone has to live with the day to day situations. Ups and downs, highs and lows, goods and bads. Most people have grown up learning to complain about circumstances and to long or wish for other circumstances. There are preferences and habits.

… You’ll Realize Everything In Your Life Is How You Allow It To Be

Habit has most people whining and complaining, excusing and blaming. Stop living your life dictated by circumstances. Instead dictate how you respond to the circumstances. Be larger than the problems. Call them anything but problems. Call them opportunities.

Practice this correctly long enough and you can get pretty good at it. Get good at letting go, living well and enjoying all events and circumstances as much as possible. Then as speed bumps occur you can find yourself at ease instead of getting bent out of shape.

You change habits with awareness and understanding. You change habits through correct repetition. You change habits by willpower and persistence. You change  by being committed to changing no matter what. As you change, what is difficult at first, becomes easier.

You Create Your Own Reality For Goodness Sake Have Good Taste

Awareness is the key. Whenever you realize you are thinking or feeling less than glorious make a purposeful, deliberate move to shift from the not glorious to the more glorious. Shift from negative to positive. Deliberately, with intention, as often as necessary.

Sometimes, you just have to do it a lot, over and over again. Other times it is easier. Just as with my two blog posts, sometimes it is wonderful sometime’s it ain’t. HOWEVER, it will always be whatever you make it. It will always be whatever you declare it to be.

You either affirm it as a problem or affirm it as a blessing. The choice is yours. The decision is yours. Learn to make new decisions and consider more and more in your life blessings and you will create, attract and re-frame more things as blessings.

What You Think Is What You Get – What You Say Is What You Get

You and your life will become richer and more blessed. The trade off is marvelous. It is! It can be beyond glorious. You only find out, however, by putting these principles into action. To know and not do is to not know. You life becomes glorious WHEN you take action!

Enjoy and delight more. Get hooked into trauma drama and crap less, regardless of what is occurring. Refuse to name things as problems but look at them as opportunities to discover cool things and they will be. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings! It is never done.

What you SAY is what YOU GET! Say what you want it to be and it will be that! YOU ARE THE AUTHORITY – you are responsible. No one else is. Make your life the life you want! Delight in everything. Enjoy everything. Feel blessed more often and you will be. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Another Reason Why You Are Suffering And How To Stop

“Some people, maybe most all people, worry about the future. We have been trained and conditioned to try to solve future happenings. We think if we think it through enough maybe it will change. Some people can’t seem to stop thinking about it. They worry and fear.

Others drag the past around with them endlessly sifting through painful past moments. They have yet to let go. These people are weighted down by past experiences and spend much of their time reliving the hurt and disappointment. They regret so much.

Fewer live right now. It’s true most aren’t encouraged to do this. The present seems to always be sacrificed for some other moment. The difference with the present, from the past and the future, is the present is all we have. How we spend it IS how we live.

Do Not Look Back In Anger – Do Not Look Forward In Fear 

We can be present right now, in the here and now, or we can be sort of here now thinking about and feeling about other times. We have learned to rob ourselves of the pleasure of now. Right now there is no pain from the past and there is no anxiety about the future.

Those feelings are for other times. Right now, focused on right now, is all there is. Be right where you are. This moment. You can be happy right now. Mentally be where you are. It is perfect. The future has a not arrived, the past is over, there is nothing to worry about.

There is nothing to regret. Be here now. This moment is perfect. This moment you can be happy. This moment you can feel bliss. Gurus and sages have told you through the ages that now is when ALL IS available. That, this moment is perfect as it is.

Be Here Now In Awareness – Be Present

True, we have habits of thought, feeling and behavior. Shifting our focus from what we chronically do may not be the easiest thing to do but it is simple to do. The gurus say simply be here now. DROP the past and present. Bring your awareness to this moment.

What is going on right now? Can you feel the wind? What is the sensation? What are the smells? The sounds you hear? What are you seeing? Bring your attention to this moment and pay attention to whatever is going on. THIS we can learn to do. Shift our attention.

We must shift from the other times to pay attention to this time! Notice your breathing? Notice how the activity you are engaged in feels. If you are eating notice the flavor of your food as you chew. Put your attention on right this moment. Let go of all else.

The First Step To Changing Your Life Is Awareness

It is similar to how you learn to be a positive person. You shift your attention from the less than glorious to the glorious. You focus on what you have to be grateful for. You can shift to what is wonderful and you can be grateful for right now. YOU can do THIS! You can!

If you’re focused on right this instant you won’t be worrying about what’s coming.  You’re not concerned with what was.  Here and now is what your focus is on now. Some people will bother to concern themselves with thinking, how will they do anything in the future.

It will take care of it self.  Believe that, trust that for now. Don’t rob yourself of another moment with an excuse or a reason to put off what is good for you. You will encounter many thought red herrings that will take your attention away. Shift it back gently. Do it now.

The Mind Has Skill – Functionality – It Is A Robot – You Must Run It

Stay present. Begin the day, end the day focused on now. Whenever you can through the day draw your attention to now. It develops in increments. It develops in practice. It is done habitually as all else is. Learn to live now. Learn to focus and enjoy now. Learn to let go.

When the moment arrives to plan, you will plan in the here and now about the future without feeling anxiety about something that hasn’t happened yet. You do not know what will happen. You can’t see it yet. Enjoy the journey, notice where you are and step forward.

If it is around the bend you aren’t able to see around the bend so focus on where you are at.  The point of this discussion is, YOU always live from your conditioning. So to change you must change what you are conditioned to do. Stop feeling bad. Start feeling good.

Life Should Not Be Lived – Life Should Be Celebrated

To have change you must be change. You must do it. You must cease some things and initiate other things. The question of what you want for yourself will determine what you decide to do or not. It isn’t easy to learn to shift your focus but it isn’t easy to live in pain either.

It may be more comfortable to live in pain than to change it. That is because it is habit. If you change it one day living free from pain will be habit and comfortable too. It is your choice. Your decision right now determines what you have now and later. The power of choice!

If you put it off you put it off. You can begin this moment to live with greater awareness. You can begin to live life meditatively, more joyfully. You can ease your burdens and your worries and begin to find your bliss.  The power is In your decision.

Here And Now – That Is All There Is – Celebrate – Be Here Now

Work, whine and worry, fear, fret and despair OR live, love and laugh. Your choice. What you do next is completely up to you. My suggestion, if you struggle with this concept and practice, is do the least you can. Make one percent change your goal.

One percent, done correctly, repeatedly, consistently for enough time will result in  great change. It will result in incredible change! Do that, but don’t do nothing. Invest in yourself. Bring your attention to now. Deliberately delight. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Do You Know The 3 Power Questions For Clarity And Goal Getting?

“Questions divide the world and help you to focus. You can direct your mind to what you want it to search for and find by using a question. Hopefully, you did the exercise from yesterday. If not, stop now, and read or re-read the previous post. Then continue on.

First question, did you answer what you wanted or didn’t want? Did you say ‘I want to be rich’ or ‘I don’t want to be broke’? It matters. Which words do you focus on in each question? Either rich or broke, right? If you are focused on broke you ‘ain’t gonna git rich!’ Git it?

Knowing what you don’t want is important to help you clarify what you do want. You focus must be on what you do want. If you said, ‘I don’t want to be broke’. Then the next step is Okay, what do you want? If you can’t answer that is a problem.

Learn To Ask Yourself Better Questions 

If you come back with another, ‘I don’t want so many bills’ then you are still focused on what you don’t want. OKAY then write out all the ‘I DON’T WANTS and get them out of your system. Then with each shift your attention to your wants.

I don’t want to be broke – may become – I want to be rich. I don’t want bills – may become – I want all my bills paid for easily. I don’t want to be fat – may become – I want to be my ideal weight. I don’t want a smoker – may become – I want someone health conscious.

Get it? What you focus on is what you get. If you have been primarily focused on what you don’t want that is what you will keep getting, creating or attracting. We become what we think about most often. What do you put your time, energy and attention into most often?

Questions Direct The Mind

The second question is why do you want it? Answering this will clarify what is important to you. It will shed light on the needs behind your goals and dreams. You may discover there are other productive ways to get what you want more easily and readily.

Sometimes these needs and wants are called our values. We want to feel important or significant. We want freedom or fun. We want to be relaxed or at ease or feel peace. We want to feel accomplished or creative. These are drivers behind the goal we are trying to fulfill.

We may fulfill these through what we want or in discovering other positive ways. YOU may find your wants changing during this process of self discovery. That is absolutely okay. Get clear about what you want, what is important to you and what stops you.

Stop Asking Why You Are Stupid Or Unlucky Or Broke

The third is WHY DON”T YOU HAVE IT? Your answer is the story, the reason, the excuse, the blames for why you aren’t making what you want happen. It is okay, we all have them. Just consider it. Why don’t you have what you want right now?

This answer, this story, this reason, this excuse is the WHY you don’t have it that you tell yourself over again and again. Your time, energy and attention is going into why it doesn’t happen or what is preventing and stopping you. Do you understand this? It is all focus!

You put more credence on the reasons why you don’t have it than you put energy into making it happen. Consider that. STOP! For goodness sake. STOP and actually consider this, Energy flows where your focus goes.

Learn To Ask Yourself Better Questions 

If you think, ‘I am broke because … You ain’t gonna get rich thinking broke and why you are. You aren’t going to create, attract and make happen what you want if your concentrated attention is on why you don’t have it. You are reinforcing not having and not getting it.

If you want to get it you will have to change your story. You must do things differently! You have to come up with all the reasons WHY you CAN HAVE IT – right NOW! You should write out a new story that reflects what you want to have. Be detailed and take your time.

What you say is what you get. What you say is based on your mental images and feelings. When you think to yourself or tell others the same story you perpetuate it. You keep it active. If you aren’t getting what you want, yet, then you must withdraw your energy.

You Get What You Focus On – You Become What You Think About

You must change what you talk about.Construct the story you want to live out. You are the author of your life, write the pages and chapters to be what you want. Remember, what you say is what you get. Choose and use your words wisely. Focus on what you want.

Focus on the good things in your life. Put your energy into what is good and what is right. Focus on solutions and on being  champion and victor. Focus on using your resourcefulness to make changes within yourself that result in changes in your outer world.

If you did these exercises honestly and thoroughly you will have gotten some valuable information for yourself to put into practice. If you blame others and make them responsible you have missed the point. If you blame others that is your excuse and gets you nowhere.

Ask Questions That Direct Your Mind In Useful Positive Ways

Each of us has to take responsibility for making our life the good life we want. Blaming others and circumstances is not the solution to getting what you want. Taking responsibility taking positive, inspired action steps that benefit you and everyone else will help you.

Blaming excuses you from getting your dreams by putting the responsibility on others or circumstances but doesn’t get you closer. Determining what you must think, feel and do will. Developing the habits that get you where you want to go will. Results begin within.

The results you get are directly tied to your thinking. So change your thinking. Change your story. Keep this in mind. You get what you focus on. You become what you think about. Once you know what you want and why you don’t have it put your attention elsewhere.

Get Clear About What You Want And Why You Want It

Put your attention on why you do have it! Imagine yourself to be the kind of positive person who does have it. What are you like? What do you think and feel and do? What does it feel like to be living the dream? Imagine all the good things.

During this process you may have discovered many beneficial things. Some may sting, some may be freeing. I encourage you to visit this again and again in coming weeks and months. Some people do it all their lives. It can be a valuable process to do on your wants.

Meanwhile, find ways to be thankful and appreciative for your new awarenesses. Be grateful for whatever you have come to understand. Learn from it. If you got better insight into these areas be happy. Learn from it. Extract the lessons. Apply the information.

To Know And Not To Do – Is To Not Know – Take Action

Apply the information to make your life and those lives around you a little easier and better. Enjoy this adventure and all of your journey. When you do you are truly blessed because you recognize each step and each obstacle IS a blessing. WOW! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

3 Power Questions To Get You What You Don’t Yet Have

“You could be living your goals and dreams right now! You do have dreams and goals, right? Perhaps, you want that perfect career or job.  Maybe you want to be rich and famous. You want the ‘right’ relationship with a partner or with your family.

You want a lifestyle that allows you to do what you want when you want it. Right? What do you want? Specify it. Elaborate. Be detailed. What are you focused on? Describe your desire. Write it down. Take your time. What do you want?  This is the first question.

STOP! Don’t read on until you answer the question.

Okay, if you did what is asked of you, proceed. Many people gloss over actually doing anything. They think if they just have the right information and know enough it will change them. It won’t. Applying the information is how you change. You must do in order to know.

Why do you want it? Variations on this question are – what will having it do for you or allow you to feel and do? Why is it important to you? Why must you have that? If you say it makes me feel good then ask why do you want to feel good? What does that do for you?

Keep asking the question. Be diligent. Specific. Elaborate. Take your time. STOP and answer thoroughly. What will being rich do for you? Why is being rich important? Ask until you can get no further. Push yourself through to discover the important WHY behind your want.

STOP! Don’t read on until you answer the question.

Why don’t you have it? WHY do YOU NOT have your DREAMS right now? Why don’t you have it yet? You know what you want but you don’t have it? Write down why not. Be specific. Elaborate. Be detailed. Take your time. DO IT! Don’t read on until you do.

I MEAN STOP! Don’t read on until you answer the question.

I know some of you blew past anyway.

Three simple, yet, powerful questions. If you genuinely ask these of yourself it will reveal much and you will learn a lot. Specify what you want. Discover why you must have it, how it is important to you. Then answer, why you don’t have it, yet. Your answers are important.

This IS a process of self discovery. Important things can come up for you and shed light on what is going on. You can discover much that is illuminating and helpful for moving forward. It can refresh you as each new day can if you allow it to. Increase your awareness. Enjoy.

Inside Your Room Without Windows You Can’t See The Blue Sky But It’s There!

“You know there is a vast blue sky above you. Beyond that the infinite span of universe. Where planets, stars and astral bodies are countless. Vast, great, immense, wealthy is the universe. Abundant beyond our imagination. We cannot begin to  conceive all there is.

Now imagine you are lying in bed in a room. 4 walls a floor plus ceiling. You look up and around and you think that is all there is. There is only as much room from wall to wall and from floor to ceiling. This is your known space. You can’t see the sky outside.

You aren’t aware of the vast blue sky beyond the ceiling. You only know what you see in front of you.  You are certain that is all it is because that is all you have ever experienced. The walls and ceiling are your known limits. That is all there is. Yet, outside, the sky.

The Only Limitations You Will Ever Have Are Ones You Allow

Just because you experience limits doesn’t mean you have to remain limited. It doesn’t mean there isn’t more available. It only means you’ve go as far as have and not beyond. The only limitations that exist are the ones inside our own minds.

The universe is abundant. It is rich. The world we live in has more than enough for all. Limits are created by humans, by cartels. People restrict the flow. Consider money. There are trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars circulating, changing hands, every minute.

Yet, many of us live as paupers in all areas of our life. Finances, fun, romance, family, leisure, work and career, health and happiness. We aren’t limited but we don’t know the sky exists. We only see the walls before us. To be free we must see beyond what is in front of us.

There Are No Limits Only Plateaus – You Must Go Beyond Them

More people don’t experience abundance because they are preoccupied with only what they know. Their problems and disappointments, their frustrations and their bills. Their lack of time and happiness to enjoy the wonderful life we all our blessed to have.

Most people miss it. Don’t. Seek and you shall find. The truth shall set you free. Create a window in your walls and ceiling so you can begin to move beyond what you know into the limitless possibilities that are there for you. Stop being limited by the visible boundaries.

Start feeling gratitude for all there is that you can know and experience. Feel gratitude for the good that is coming your way that you can’t see yet. Allow yourself to feel free and know you can have access to all of it. Life offers everything to you. Take hold of it.

Don’t Limit Your Challenges – Challenge Your Limits

Don’t live with the delusion that there isn’t more, or that there isn’t enough. There is plenty. Abundance is what you and I were born into. Claim it. Demand it. Accept it and allow it. Don’t live as a pauper when you can live as an emperor. Awareness is the beginning.

Begin to think as one who is abundant in all areas of life. Act as if and affirm it. See it, feel it, speak it, hear it, taste and smell it. Don’t deny yourself all that there is available. Think it. As Napoleon Hill said, ‘whatever you can conceive and believe you can achieve’.

Focus your thoughts for positive success and create the life you want to have. Go beyond the limits in your mind. Take control of your thoughts and create the life you can imagine having. You can be, do and have anything when you put your mind to it. Delight, enjoy and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
