An Actor’s Thoughts: The Importance Of Focus

“Why do I write about distraction and the importance of being focused? As an actor, concentration is everything. Energy flows where your attention goes. You must pay attention! This is true for everyone. What you focus on expands. Your thoughts do matter.

An actor must be of one mind. If the actor’s attention is split, part on the character the actor portrays, and part on remembering one’s lines, the performance will suffer. The actor’s full attention must be on the character created. This is why you rehearse and learn lines.

The actor rehearses to be free of distractions and free in the moment, as the character, to take advantage of opportunities that present, during the scene. The actor must listen and concentrate on the others in the scene. Attention is everything. Remember this!

Practice Creates Confidence – Confidence Gives You Power

This is true for all of us; everyone. We can learn from the actor’s commitment and dedication. The actor spends time memorizing and rehearsing so, when performing, it appears fresh, as if it is occurring for the very first time. BUT it is well rehearsed. It is practiced!

All of us can benefit from rehearsal and practice. Athletes and teams rehearse and practice. Musicians and all performing artists practice thousands and thousands of hours to be able to perform in real time. All skills require we wire them in; golf, swimming, piano, cooking.

Jugglers and tightrope walkers practice to get good and to make it look like they are doing some things for the very first time. They practice making it look dangerous and scary. Sometimes, it really is. They wouldn’t think to attempt something without wiring it in!

Every Practice Session Is A Learning Process – Learn Success

Why should we expect any less of ourselves when it come to making our lives great and our dreams come true? Manifesting what you want, making it happen, IS a skill. It requires practice. Managing your thoughts and feelings and actions require the same commitment.

Spend time each day affirming and visualizing what you want and you will get better at it. Take inspired actions toward your goal, get up off your butt and do something in that direction and you will get better at it. Read and fill your mind with positive thoughts.

Everyday do something. Even if it is only a little bit, it is better than nothing. Imagine. Act AS IF you already are and have what you want. The more time you put into creating it, the better you get, and the closer you get to actually having it. Practice, practice, practice!

Knowledge Is Useless Unless And Until You Put It Into Practice

When the going gets tough you get what you practice. You weather the storms better when you travel in advance of the world. You prepare for all events and circumstances by training and conditioning your responses. EMTs, firefighters all train to be ready.

Don’t expect any less of yourself. Commit to being the best. Don’t rely on magic, rely on you. YOU are much more likely to make it happen than wishing will make it happen. Practice success skills. Practice feeling happy and successful. Practice gratitude! Enjoy.

Be thankful. Practice positive thinking and attitude. Practice feeling joyful and enthused. Practice abundance. Feel abundance! Practice manifesting and creating. Make it happen. Practice getting along with others and support them. Practice listening and paying attention. Practice positivity. Practice focus. Practice speaking only to bless, heal and prosper. Practice celebrating! Practice feeling delighted! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What Kind Of Journey Is It?

“We are all journeying separately, together. We have our solo missions and yet, we all travel together and help each other succeed. No one lives or journeys in true isolation. So what kind of journey is it? What is your journey about? Are you enjoying the journey.

The journey seems to be mostly about awareness. What you are able to discover about yourself, others and the world while you are here. You either enjoy your journey or you do not. If not, why not? What is it that prevents you from enjoying where you are right this moment.

BEcome aware. BEcome aware of all crap so you can let go, forgive and move onward. BEcome aware of all the good so you can celebrate and enjoy. BEcome aware of when you are selfish and not giving. BEcome aware when you are supportive and helpful.

The Goal Of Life Is To Be Fully Alive – Live Learn Love Laugh – BE

You will discover many things about yourself. Seek to. BEcome aware. Notice how I spelled BEcome. When we simply, ‘be’ who we are without masks, without filters and prejudices, without judgements the journey becomes so much more delightful.

Hardships BEcome blessings because you BEcome aware of those hidden within the challenges. As you become more aware of how you hold yourself back and let go of it you have more energy to enjoy all the wonderful good things that you were missing. It’s about focus.

The journey is all we have. The destination is off in the future. How you arrive at the destination is more important than actually arriving. You can’t sacrifice now for back then or what is up ahead. You only have how you live, love and celebrate now. Happiness is!

How You Journey To Your Destination Is Everything Be Here Now

It isn’t about getting to be happy later when your bills are paid and you have your dream career, relationship, car or home. It is BEcoming happy now in spite of those less than glorious times. Learn to BE happy. Be fulfilled. Be rich even when your wallet is empty.

Awareness is the key. Have the courage to face yourself and explore. BE willing to examine what you find. Let go of what stops you. Accentuate what moves you into BEing and greater awareness. Live well this moment and the next takes care of itself. Delight in all. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Change Limiting Beliefs Through Doubt

“Most people live life as a cork bobbing in the water. They move whichever way they are pulled by the current. Sometime this way, good, sometimes that way, bad. There is a way to more consistently live happily, positively and powerfully. Would you like to know how?

We all face negative thoughts and beliefs. We can change them. We don’t have to be a victim to our thinking. In fact, it is crucial for our success and happiness to take charge of, and control, our thinking and feeling, instead of allowing it to be haphazard.

Doubt your doubts. Yes, doubt them. Begin to doubt them. Whenever you think or say something like, ‘I could never do that’ you don’t have to believe that. That is simply part of your less than productive, chronic, habitual thinking you learned from the past.

Stop Clinging To The Old Conditioning – Let It Go – Become New

You can change it. Doubt it. Don’t give it the credence you have been giving it in the past. Consider this. If you can doubt that you could do it, you could also begin to doubt that you couldn’t do it. Get it? You don’t have to accept your thought as a life sentence.

Neither thought is actually true. It is only a reflection of what you have come to believe and accept as true. It is possible you could do it just as much as it is possible you couldn’t. You just may not have considered this before. Your thoughts are one-sided, out of balance.

Start considering the positive. Consider what you might possibly do that could lead to you doing it. You don’t have to know how you could but you can begin to imagine how it might be possible. Doubt that you can’t! Begin to think that you could and can and will.

Doubt Your Doubts – Question Them – Face Your Fears – Act

‘I’ll never get out of debt.’ ‘Perhaps, that isn’t true. What if I did? How might I begin to think and behave differently for me to change this? Who says, I can’t? What if I do? Just because I have thought, I won’t doesn’t mean, I won’t? Perhaps, I could? What would that be like?’

You lead yourself out of the negativity by doubting the non-supportive belief and beginning to wonder how you can begin to make things different. Inch by inch. You switch the less than glorious, negative, non-productive, non-supportive belief for a better one.

Why would you ever choose to have a less than glorious, negative, non-productive, non-supportive belief set anyway? Most likely you wouldn’t. So go ahead and begin to change it. Some will take some time, some will be much easier. You’ll notice this too, as you do it.

Your Future Is Based On Your Present Decisions – Think Positive

Never stay stuck when you don’t have to. Be in charge of your thinking and your feelings. Change your life for the positive. Everything changes when you do. From within to without. It starts with thoughts, your feelings, then actions, that get you your results.

Do you want better results? Think better! Doubt your doubts! Doubt your negative beliefs! Change them to positive, powerful, productive ones that serve you! Work on it daily. Develop the habit of thinking positively. Learn that you CAN celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What We Can Learn From The Rollercoaster

“Kids and adults like rollercoasters. Not everyone, but enough that they are popular amusement park rides. What does a rollercoaster do? It takes you on a high speed journey, through ups and downs, fast and slow. The purpose is to scare, thrill and delight you with fun.

Life has been likened to a rollercoaster. Remember that, when you have a moment. Life is a journey. There is no desire to quickly get to the end. From birth to then, there are ups and downs. What if the purpose of all these was to scare, thrill and delight you with fun?

Consider, every event, good or not so good, there for your delight. It is part of an adventure. It is the journey. It is all for your well-being. It is designed for you to grow and learn and evolve and transform. Enjoy the journey. Enjoy all of the ride. Let go and be thrilled.

There Are Two Basic Emotions Feel Good And Feel Bad

There are two basic emotions. You can feel good or feel bad.  The goal is is to feel good most of the time.  Don’t think you have to feel blissed out the entire time. The goal is to feel a little bit better, the best you can. This is important to understand. Feel better.

If you’re feeling down  you want to move into feeling a little bit better. Move in the direction of feeling good. Move incrementally. If you’re down it isn’t likely you will make a gigantic leap into feeling incredible. Just move bit by bit toward feeling better. Get it?

You can always feel a little bit better. Even now. That is your goal to spend most of your time feeling the best you are able to. Keep moving  in the direction of feeling good. Feel good more often than not. Keep it simple. There is only feeling good or feeling bad.

There Is Always Some Good In Each Day – Find It Celebrate It

Ask yourself which you are feeling? If you are feeling bad do something to change it.  Do whatever you can to feel better. Move more. Go for a walk. Get out in nature. Do some gardening or something enjoyable outdoors. Notice the beauty and freshness.

Do yoga. Exercise.  Meditate. Read or listen to some uplifting material.  Find positive and inspiring people to hang around with. Attend an event. Go to a workshop.  Invest in yourself. Shake it up. Put a smile on your face. Make someone else smile.

Compliment  people. Speak only to bless, heal and prosper. Talk positive not about negative things. Help someone who has a problem that’s worse than yours. As long as you’re moving toward feeling a bit better you are raising your energy in the right direction.

Accentuate The Positive – Something Wonderful Will Happen

When you feel bad, have negative thoughts, or feel fears, worries and anxieties take that as a signal that something is off and you need to adjust. Adjust and correct and do those things that make you feel better. Keep heading in the direction.

As long as you’re heading in the right direction you’re making progress. Gratitude is a great way to get out of being stuck and feeling less than glorious. Look around at everything you can appreciate and express it. Delight in it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Overcome Shock And Disappointment

“Letting go means dropping it. Don’t seek revenge. Seek to solve and uplift. Consider that every thing happens for a reason and this happened to serve you. It happened so you could get free. Whether ultimately, this is true doesn’t matter. It is a reframe you can use.

Consider it a blessing. An opportunity to learn from and evolve. Be thankful it happened to bring your awareness to what you might change. Accept yourself and your situation as what is. It is what it is. You either embrace it or resist it. What you resist persists.

Find the silver lining. And ask yourself are you capable of giving out some unconditional love? My guess is, an eruption or disruption stems from boundary violations, expectations, restrictions and limitations and not because we are loving unconditionally.

When You Let Go You Create Space For Something Better

When my daughter, my first, was born. I fed her. Held her. I changed her. I bathed her. She couldn’t say thanks. She couldn’t return anything. I did it because I knew it helped her feel good and met her needs. I loved being able to serve her. I remember her birth.

My first thoughts were how blessed and lucky I am. I was given this incredible gift, I thought, ‘I want to love you and accept you as much when you are 16 and telling everyone what an asshole your dad is, as I do right this moment.’ I was head over heels in love. I still am.

As an infant if she cried all night, I held her and decided I was there for the long haul. This was my opportunity. I loved being a dad. So what about when she was 16? It was much harder than I thought it would be because I now expected her to act in certain ways.

You Only Lose What You Cling To – Stop Clinging And Let Go 

I loved her even more but found I placed conditions or expectations on her all the while she was growing up. I did the same with my son. I didn’t realize this was occurring until something upset the apple cart. My goal has always been to get back to unconditional love.

So whenever crap happened I had a yard stick when I became aware of my old habits and programming. Was I behaving in loving ways or exasperating the situation? Was I judging or allowing? Was I labeling or loving? Sometimes, I wasn’t loving. I had to accept and let go.

My desire, my goal, is to remember always, my children are gifts to me. Regardless of what they do or don’t do, give or don’t give, they are incredible blessings in my life that I am thankful for. It isn’t about what they do or don’t. It is about me being blessed and aware of it.

Train Yourself To Find The Blessing In Everything 

Sometimes, my personal agenda causes other people pain. If I am aware, I do what I can to correct it. When I am not aware, I find I blame others. I really don’t want to do that, but sometimes I do. I prefer to take 100% responsibility and change myself instead.

It can be painful to encounter ourselves. We make mistakes. I still do. Whenever possible forgive. Ask for forgiveness, accept, embrace, and make amends. When not, forgive, ask for forgiveness, accept, embrace and learn from mistakes. Let go and improve yourself.

A few blog posts back I suggested showering yourself with unconditional love. I suggest you do that again and again. Also, do it for your loved ones, your friends, even strangers and enemies. It makes a big difference in how you go through the world. Find silver linings. Look at everything as a blessing and all of it can be. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Stop Missing Out And Get What You Deserve

“How do you create the career, the lifestyle, the leisure, the love, the happiness, the wealth you want? What must you do to attract it and make it happen. What part do you play? You play every part. The future is your future. You make it happen. You can as you do this.

Live it in advance. Go into the future, decide what you want it to be like, and imagine it as if you already are living it. You want to be healthy, imagine being completely healthy now. You are fit, full of energy, your ideal weight. You are able to enjoy it this moment.

See it, hear it, feel it!  Experience it! How happy and delighted are you to have it right now? You wanted it and it is yours. Imagine it as vividly as possible!  Move like it is true and it is your reality. Sit like it. Act like it. Speak like it. Notice everything you can. Be it right now.

To Enjoy Enduring Success – Travel In Advance Of The World

Create the inner reality where this is true. If you want wealth how much did you get? Where do you live? Who are your friends? What do you drive? What do you where? What do you do now that you are wealthy? Be as detailed or specific as possible. Explore and discover.

After all it is your dream. Create it as rich and nuanced as you are able. Enjoy it. Feel how marvelous it is. If anything doesn’t feel right correct it, adjust it until it does. Believe it. If you don’t, adjust it until you do. You are a creator. You have the right to imagine anything.

I suggest you make everyone around you win. Don’t foster discord or dislike. This isn’t for revenge. Instead, if you need to, imagine forgiveness. and Cooperation. Create peace and harmony. Manifest love and light. This is your future. Make it everything you want.

Luck Is The Crossroads Where Opportunity And Preparation Meet

Do it. It is your imagination. Why not? If you answer why not examine what holds you back, why that is, who it comes from and whether you want to keep that thought or not. If not, change it. Affirm a new one. Affirm this new reality. Let go and live fully!

Create your future vividly while leaving room to be pleasantly surprised as it unfolds in actuality. Affirm and re-affirm what you want by staying focused on what you want and off of what you prefer to exclude. Do you understand this? It is important.

If you don’t want something create what you DO want instead or in its place. Don’t be stingy with yourself. Be lavish. Have fun and enjoy it. Be thankful. Everything first originates as an idea then it becomes reality. It doesn’t magically appear but you make it happen. You do it!

The Best Way To Predict The Future Is To Create It

You keep filling your brain with what you want and how it feels until your brain gets it. As you brain does it assembles your resources and scans inside and out for matches in experience and people who can assist you. It looks for opportunities. YOU still have to take them.

You still create and attract and make it all work together. You will have highs and lows, easy times and challenges but through it all if you maintain your vision you can accomplish it. Napoleon Hill said, ‘If you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it’. This is true.

It takes time. It isn’t instant. Perhaps, it could be. Don’t rule anything out. Still, it takes time to organize your thoughts and behaviors and align these and become congruent. It takes time to assemble your resources and find opportunity. It all takes time. Never give up.

You Get What You Focus On – What You Focus On Expands

Stick with it. Baking a cake takes time. You get your ingredients together by shopping. You go to where you can put them together correctly in order and place in an oven. You set the temperature and the timer  and wait. When done, wait while it cools. Then enjoy.

You can hate and moan through the entire process OR you can be eager and excited and delighted knowing you are going to have delicious cake. You can be so eager you can almost taste it prior to making it. THAT is the feeling and way you want to live right NOW.

Live inside your future. Create your desires as fulfilled. Enjoy living in that reality. Spend at least a couple minutes of the day imagining and feeling that. Journal what it is like to have what you want. Keep visual reminders, pictures, Vision Board, slogans. Affirm. Believe!

What You Think About You Bring About – See It Speak It Have It

As you move through the day secretly imagine or pretend that is your reality right now. What does a healthy or wealthy person eat, do, think, and say? How does a healthy or wealthy person drive or place an order for an item? How does this person act each moment.

Live it. Feel it. Speak it. Affirm it. See it. Embrace, allow and accept it. Be thankful for it. Be truly grateful for everything you had, have and will have. Practice authentic appreciation. Love. Give and help others. Laugh and delight. It will happen more quickly as you do these things and become these things. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

What To Do To Begin Changing Your Life For The Better 3

“Feel delighted as you say, ‘I am learning how to be centered. I am learning how to stay centered. I am learning to control my attention I am beginning the process of focusing on what I want. I am beginning to think more positive.’ Feelings run everything. They do!

‘I am learning to enjoy thinking positive. I think positive and I am positive. I am able to calm myself and stay centered. I am learning to take control and enjoy my abilities.’  The feelings are the drivers! The feelings are what gets the subconscious attention. They really do!

The feelings are more important than the words!  When we are worried, anxious, stressed or angry it is the feeling, more than the words, that the brain responds to. The same is true of feelings  and positive affirmations. In reality, we are always affirming and feeling.

You Can Have Anything You Want Just Give Up Believing You Can’t

The question is what are we feeling and what are we affirming? This is important to understand. In this case you choose to switch or swap out negative feeling affirmations for positive ones. Affirm what you want while feeling the best you can. That is what makes it work.

You will get the hang of it. Take it a bit at a time. Step by step, bit by bit, inch your way into success. You’ll succeed soon enough if you will just  keep at it. Do it once or twice daily but do it! Do this as I have describe for a couple minutes morning and night. Easy enough.

Do it for a minimum or 30, 60 or 90 days. Just a tiny bit of improvement, just 1% positive change, and you will become 90% better at managing thoughts and emotions than you are today. Yes, you can do it a extra times or whenever you want during the day.

Your Past Was A Lesson Not A Life Sentence – Learn New Things

If you feel you need to do it another time, do it. Do it no matter what! Do it during good times and bad times. Do it whether you feel like it or not. Champion athletes don’t always feel like working out but they do anyway. They know the value of commitment. They do!

Get an accountability partner who will help see you through each day to make sure you continue. STAY WITH IT and never quit! You will surprise and delight yourself as you make it a habit. Start easy and enjoy it! Make it fun. Look forward to doing it. AND you will!

Celebrate it. Feel silly. That’s okay. At times you may be angry or upset.  That is okay. You can be mad and say I am learning to be calm dammit! JUST decide this, and this is most important, decide what it is it YOU want to create EACH moment? What do you want?

The More We Do The More We Can Do – Feel Better And Better

IF IT IS TO FEEL GOOD then FEEL GOOD. It is up to you to do it. If you decided you want to drive to the store and no one drives you then you must make the drive yourself to get what you want. It’s exactly the same here. YOU DO IT! Don’t expect it to happen to you.

When finished saying your declarations or watching your breath take a moment and just feel grateful. Acknowledge your progress. This helps you move forward swiftly. Then write down at least three things, circumstance and people you feel grateful for. What only 3?

During my programs I encourage participants to write down 25 things you are grateful for each day. Journal them. Keep the list. Look for things that are good and new; opportunities and new blessings. Find what you already have that you can appreciate.

What You Think You Become – What You Feel You Attract

Do this nightly. Make it a ritual and you will create positive new habits that serve you well. Remember a snail’s pace is fine just remain committed and consistent. Less can be more. Simple can be the best. Gratitude and persistence the key. Celebrate everything!’ Rex Sikes

How To Feel Love At Anytime

“Would you like a mental trick that can help you feel better overall? Adopting the right attitude or mindset can make all the difference in the world.  Sometimes, you just want to bask in the glow of ‘all is well’ and feel that the world and others ‘got your back’. Right?

Well, you can. Remember the key always is, ‘If it is to be it is up to me’. That means YOU go first. You think the thoughts. You adopt the mindset. Don’t wait for others. Just begin right away. Begin right now. I always suggest choosing thoughts that support you.

You want ones that uplift you. You want to feel more positive and optimistic. I  want ones I can believe and that are realistic, both plausible and possible because I want to be able to believe they are or can be so. I don’t want airy fairy ones that don’t support me.

To Accept Is To Say Yes To Life In Its Entirety

Here is one for today that you may try on. Think these thoughts, repeat throughout the day. Embrace the concepts and wrap the feelings around you. Remember, the non-conscious mind, or subconscious responds to feelings more than words.

The words are for your conscious understanding and for you to create the feelings. So try this on as you would some wonderful new clothing item you love. Say it. Repeat it until you mean it and believe it. That is how it works. You keep repeating it until you believe it!

Remember, it has been borne out that a lie repeated or heard often enough can or is substituted for the truth. Repetition is how we condition the non-conscious mind. Repetition of the feeling is the most important. Believe the words, feel the feelings. It works!

Love And Accept Yourself Exactly As You Are Past Present Future

Here it is: ‘I am loved by everyone! People appreciate, love and respect me. I am a beautiful person inside and out. Others can see and feel my presence. I radiate acceptance. I am surrounded by love and beautiful people. I am protected by love. I’m loved and I am love.’

‘I can love and appreciate others. I accept and allow others to be who they are. We can easily get along. People allow me to be me. I allow me to be me. I drop and let go of judgements. I accept myself.  I love myself.  It feels wonderful to give and receive love freely.’

You can tailor it to mean the most and feel best for you. As with any affirmation or set of thoughts it is best to pick a topic area and repeat it over and over for awhile. A rule of thumb you hear all the time is AT LEAST 21 days. Repetition is the mother of skill.

Real Change Is Not An Event – Real Change Requires Repetition

In order to make a new habit we have to repeat it enough, over a long enough period of time. 21 days is the shortest time period, according to researchers to begin to form a new habit. So try it out for at least that short while. Longer is even better.

Just pick something that uplifts and supports you in being positive and authentic. You can learn to think anything you’d like to with practice. Choose the best thoughts to think and you will feel better You will transform your experience, yourself and your life.

You can feel loved and loving at anytime. It is up to you. It is in your hands, your heart and your mind. If you can hold it in your head you can hold it in your hands. What you focus on expands. What you think about you become. It happen even quicker when you appreciate all life offers without judgement  and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Feeling Low Energy? Down and Out? Do This Immediately!

“Are their times when you feel down and out? Would you like to learn how to feel better almost instantly? Did you know that there is something you can do that will help you shift your mindset? Yep! By changing your awareness and focus you can change your mood.

Many years ago during a reflective, meditative time, I realize my feet had carried me for 24 years without my ever thanking them. I immediately began to appreciate how they had carried me through life, through good and bad times, when they were well or injured.

Silly me. Right? I had missed out. How could I have gone so long without acknowledging them. But, I had. I began to list, one after the other,  how my toes had worked together. My soles of the feet. The muscles, bones, joints and cartilage. My skin. Each and everything!

When I Started Counting My Blessings My Life Turned Around

The flood gates soon opened and I was thanking each and every part of me I could think of and name, inside and out. The more I thanked the more incredible I felt. It is a great place to begin feeling better. It is a great place to get in touch with what is important. Embrace it.

Discover how blessed you are. Do it! Become thankful. Make a list. Do it each and everyday. Whenever and where ever you can. Think it, speak it, enjoy it. Feel it! Let the feelings of appreciation rise up in you. It will positively change how you feel for the better.Delight in all of it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
