Expert Reveals: You Must Develop Singular Focus Now!

“A few decades ago a large part of my personal development programs was to help people to multitask. People needed to be able to do more than one thing simultaneously. Today, people need to be able to concentrate and learn to do just one thing at a time.

Ideally, people can be successful at both, using either ability at the appropriate times. However, in this millennial age of distraction people seem unable to focus.  Many, especially children, but even adults, wear official labels stating they can’t concentrate.

They can, if not all, most can, focus and do quite well given the opportunity. Today, I’d like to focus on learning how to better concentrate and simplify life. Much benefit can be experienced when you let go, slow down and live simply.  Let’s explore, okay?

The Thing About Meditation Is You Become More And More You

Meditation has been available for eons. Some practice it. There are various types and even various descriptions about what meditation is or what it is not. I’ll use the loosest definition right now for our purposes. Concentration; reflection; contemplation; observation.

It is described as a training of the mind for benefit. I agree. I am only going to share one aspect of it today that is vital to learn and not discuss all the potential benefits and aspects. Concentration or focus is what people need to learn to do more of. To be single-minded.

Today, people eat and talk and are on their phones or media all day. Music, sounds or images are played in the background almost everywhere we go. Few people enjoy just being alone with themselves while eating, traveling or walking or whatever!

I Meditate So My Mind Cannot Complicate My Life

They must always be engaged or distracted by social media or some electronic toy or by other people.  This does not promote health or well-being. It is important to shut it off and relax. It is important mentally, physically and spiritually to let it all go for awhile.

Get yourself a candle or battery operated tea lamp flame and place it before you. Sit comfortably and relax. Breath and simply look at the flame. Focus you attention on the flame. Do nothing else. Breath. Whenever you notice yourself thinking something else stop.

Gently, return your attention to the flame. This may occur many times and that it is okay. The purpose IS to learn to return your attention to the flame without judgement or exasperation. Simply gaze at the flame. Allow your mind to quiet. It will eventually.

In Meditation You Develop Powerful Muscles Of Calm And Insight

Yes, you have to train it. It is used to NOT doing this. It will jump around all over the place. This is what it has always been doing unless you trained it. It will require some time and patience. It is not exciting, it may be boring. That is okay. Great benefit can come!

Take your time. Slow down. Spend at least 5 minutes. Go for 10 or 20. Do it when you won’t be distracted or interrupted. Turn off your cell phone. Make it a pleasant, comfortable, sacred time. This is time for you to do something wonderful for yourself. This is for you!

Soften the lights, turn them down. Quiet your environment. If you use a lit candle make sure it is safe and won’t catch anything on fire if you left it unattended. You shouldn’t and won’t of course. Just be smart about it. Enjoy this time. Let go, relax, de-stress and be. Enjoy.

Starve Your Distractions Feed Your Focus – Know Thyself

Do it each day. Once a day is fine. Twice is good, too. Unwind, let go and concentrate. Focus your attention. At other times of the day shut off your phone. Just sit with nature. Observe and listen to what is occurring. Be with it. Let it fill your awareness. Be present.

Enjoy being here and now. Live in the moment every once and awhile. Eat your food and simply eat. No media. No books. No conversation. Be silent. Just enjoy. Savor your food and the experience. Live here and now. Attend to right NOW.

Go for a walk and just notice how it feels. The temperature, the movement, your feet on the earth. Feel it rather than think about it. Listen to the sounds. See what you see. Simply notice. The tendency will be to name and label what you notice. Okay, just let it go. Just be.

To A Mind That Is Still The Whole Universe Surrenders

Simply walk and enjoy the walk. Let go of everything and just BE the experience you are having as you are having it. Let go of thoughts as they occur. Watch those come and go to instead of entertaining them. Stay present, when your mind goes elsewhere return it gently.

Whenever, you find yourself visiting the past or the future return your attention to here and now. When washing dishes just wash the dishes. Focus on what you are doing. Train and control your mind. Take time to focus. Take time to relax. Live differently for awhile.

Find moments in each day to escape into the present. Find moments to unwind and appreciate the moment you are living. Be aware, be peaceful, be what is right now. Listen and observe without judging. Yes, it is not easy at first but in time it can become easier and easier.

Meditate Because Some Questions Can’t Be Answered  By Google

Many people today train their bodies. They go to the gym to get fit. True, many still do not. Those who train realize at some level, for some benefit, it is important to do. They wouldn’t do it without benefits, right. Others, don’t see the benefit so they don’t.

Training your mind to serve you, instead of you serving it, is important, even more important. Take the time to learn to control your thought processes. Eventually, you will realize you are not your thoughts. Thoughts are something YOU have not what you are.

Most thoughts are not even yours. They stem from the conditioning we grew up with. Most of ‘our’ thoughts are actually those we learned to have from other people. Wouldn’t you like to learn to think for yourself rather than from prior, old, chronic conditioning?

The Quieter You Become The More You Can Hear

You can. You can learn to control your thoughts and you can learn to let go and go beyond your thoughts. For now, start simply. Focus. Concentrate on the flame. There are other forms of meditation I will share from time to time. For now practice this. Do it repeatedly.

Build the habit and the benefits will please you. Stop and enjoy life as it unfolds. Live more in the present. Become aware. Live more simply and enjoyable. Be grateful for right now. Be appreciative for what you have in this moment too. Live with awareness and delight. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Why I Insist You Take The 24 Hour Opportunity Challenge!

“Why do I insist you take the 24 hour opportunity challenge? Because mindset is everything. If you don’t believe it you can prove it to yourself. If you are honest and daring, committed to learning the difference and willing to play all out. If yes, go get some contrast.

If you aren’t familiar with Adam Markel’s 24 Hour Opportunity Challenge go and read the previous blog. Adam is the author of the new book ‘Pivot: The Art And Science Of  Reinventing Your Career And Life’. Alright, are you now ready to begin. Okay, get contrast!

For 24 hours think nothing but crappy, lousy, defeating, negative thoughts. Think how much you suck, the world sucks, everyone sucks. Nothing ever works out for you, you are a loser and won’t ever get ahead. Think these legitimately and fully commit.

Are you in? Are you going to do it? I wouldn’t but that is just me. Most people already think a lot like this. If they aren’t downright negative their thinking  is lackluster and mediocre. They aren’t thinking powerfully positive they ho-hum through life.

A Positive Attitude Gives You Power Over Your Circumstances

So if you want you can go ahead and experiment. Or you can examine your own thoughts and determine whether each one you are aware of is negative or positive. Does the thought support you or defeat you? Does it make you more powerful or weaker?

Do you feel more confident or less confident? Do you feel more happy or less happy, even angry or sad? Which is it? Either you are negative or positive? Where do you spend most of your thinking time; in ‘I can’t’ or ‘I can.’? Are you feeling energetic or tired?

Are you feeling on top of the world or as if the world is on top of you? Are you taking responsibility and moving forward and making progress with your dreams and goals or are you blaming others and the world and making excuses for why you haven’t or can’t yet?

A Negative Thinker Sees A Difficulty In Every Opportunity

Well, which is it? Mindset is everything! How you look out into the world determines largely what you find, what you feel and what you experience. It isn’t magical it is just what it is. If you feel like things suck well then they probably do for you. For you, not for everyone.

Another person may feel in charge and on top of things. What we think determines how we feel. How we feel from that thought determines what thoughts we think next. Each thought and feeling leads to another. It is cyclic. Either spiraling down or rising up.

Which is more predominant in your daily life? It it positivity and optimism, good feelings and fun? Are you filled with ‘I can do it’ and then you take action or is it otherwise? If it IS OTHERWISE the great news is you can change it. It may take some work but you can do it.

A Positive Thinker Sees An Opportunity In Every Difficulty

That is why the opportunity challenge is such a great vehicle. Look for opportunity. Set your mind on it. Refuse to consider anything else. See everything as an opportunity for something, for growth or learning or moving ahead or relaxing and chilling. Opportunity!

Instead of whining and complaining that you aren’t getting the breaks, perhaps you could make your own, if you only thought more powerfully and positively. Perhaps, you’d be more creative and imaginative and find new ways you haven’t yet considered?

Wouldn’t that be cool? Of course it would! But you have to dive in to get the benefit. No dipping the toes. You must fully immerse yourself! Okay, okay, if you want to run through the sprinkler first and get a little wet, fine. Try it out. Put it into practice. Implement!

Train Your Mind To See The Good In Every Situation

Learn to control your attention and energy. Learn to concentrate and focus your mind like a powerful laser beam. Make your mind do what you want it to instead of you being bothered by it. Use your backbone. Develop some iron will. Stop being wimpy.

Invest in yourself. Take the challenge. Set your mind on the positive and find out what is there for you. Don’t stop at one day. Keep going. Develop a powerful new unstoppable attitude. Live life fully. Take charge of yourself and live as a champion does. Have fun!

I bet if you really do this you will discover something incredible. I bet you will have insights and learning and all sorts of fascinating moments. Only you can convince yourself it is worthwhile so take the plunge. Dive in and reap the rewards and benefits!

Focus On What You Can Change Your Atititude –  Mindset –  Energy

Be enthused. feel delighted. Look around at all the incredible opportunity there is to discover. Look and listen. Feel it! Find the good in all things. Find the opportunities that once were hidden. You can do this! Feel grateful, be appreciative and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Take The 24 Hour Opportunity Challenge!

“Recently, Adam Markel, CEO and owner of the personal and business success training company, New Peaks, and author of the fantastic new book ‘Pivot: The Art And Science Of Reinventing Your Career And Life’ issued a challenge. I heard it. I accepted it.

You can too! I happened to be there when he mentioned it. I love it. It is a powerful, positive challenge, in line with all good thinking practices. He is passionate and dedicated to helping people transform their careers and their lives.

Adam walks his talk. He issued the challenge. I share it here so you can too. It is simple, absolutely simple. Whether it is easy remains to be seen. Regardless, the benefits can be huge. I hope you will join us and the others who already have begun.

The Bigger The Challenge – The Bigger The Opportunity

For 24 hours focus on opportunity. Think: There are no problems. Be: peaceful and calm. For 24 hours maintain your focus on this thought, this mantra: ‘I only see opportunities’. Remind yourself again and again. There you have it. Will you accept the challenge?

‘I see opportunities in everything. I see opportunities everywhere’. Notice the opportunities in everything. Look for the opportunity not the problem. Whatever occurs, steer your mind to how there is opportunity right there for you. If you go astray, gently return.

The challenge is to maintain this positive frame no matter what happens. Don’t look at or for the problem. Look at or for the opportunity. Can you imagine the opportunity in doing this? Not yet? Well, perhaps you will after you take the challenge.

Your Big Opportunity May Be Right Where You Are Right Now

Give it a try for 24 hours. One day. That isn’t too much to ask. Control and manage your thoughts for 24 hours. You can do it. It will be fun, illuminating and who knows what positive good you will discover? Are you up for the challenge. If so, do it! And then…

I suggest you do it again. Then again. ‘I only see opportunities’. Remind yourself. That is your mantra for 24 hours. Put a guard before your mind and thoughts, your eyes, your ears and your lips. There ARE NO problems only opportunities. ‘I see opportunity’.

It Is Not A Problem – It Is An Opportunity To Make A Change

Live and breath and speak only opportunity. For 24 hours you are not allowed to whine, complain, blame or discuss problems. Keep vigilant. If others are talking problems don’t join them. Don’t get sucked into gossip and other issues. Stay the course.

Do it. It can be life changing. While you are at it, read his new book, ‘Pivot’. You will be glad you did both. You may delight and surprise yourself by how powerful this process is. Take the challenge, have fun, learn a lot and enjoy! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Confession Is Good For The Soul

Yesterday I began with a confession. I continue today. I bottomed out at 25 and had to change or die. That was what I felt my options were. Then I made a decision. I committed. Some people have to have enough pain before they rise up. I know I sure did in my past.

Others just excel from the start.  It doesn’t matter. Everything is all good. Everything is a blessing especially if you can look at things that way. Challenges make us stronger. There is much to learn. Mindset is the difference that makes a difference. It is the edge we need to win.

You change your mindset to win! That is the starting place. Change the thinking and you change the feelings. As a result your actions improve, you replace the old chronic habits with new successful ones and you begin to get better results. Then you maintain it!

Live As If You Would Die Tomorrow Learn As If You Live Forever

My life, in retrospect has been perfect. It is perfect and it will be perfect. Perfect is what you make it! It IS what it is. Happiness inside first, as an attitude can see you through many tough times. I learned to be happy is a choice you have to make. You really have to choose.

I did. I finally decided to be happy no matter what. You Can Too

I could learn to be happy, healthy and wealthy. I could learn to be anything I desired to be as long as I would commit, put in the effort and not stop trying until I succeeded, OR, at least until I was proficient and then continued to improve. It is a decision. A choice.

I had no special skills or strengths. I floundered, drifted, was okay at something, better at others, and sucked at some. Average, I was average. I wasn’t special in any way. Most of my life I felt unlucky. Still, I managed. If I can you, or anyone else, can too.

If I Asked People What They Wanted They’d Say Faster Horses

I share this because if there is any reader out there doubting, feeling insecure, afraid, forlorn, angry at the world, self, others or god, you too can make it different. It may not be easy at first, but it is quite simple. You decide, you commit to yourself, to learn to be different,

You chose to learn how to control your thoughts, the thoughts that make you feel bad, and learn how to replace them with good thoughts, better thoughts that make you feel better. You understand that change starts within and moves to the outside.

Most of us think something from the outside will save us or help us. We think if the circumstances are right or if we get the right things then all will be better. WE HAVE IT BACKWARDS! It is mindset first that affects everything else and the results we get.

Attitude Is A Little Thing That Makes A Big Difference

Happiness is a choice that you can make. We choose to be happy, we choose to think better and we begin making adjustments from where we are at. We begin before we are ready and before we know how. We start right, here right now with what we have.

And with what we don’t have. We simply begin as we are this moment. Nothing more, nothing less. Now, this instant, is when the time is right and you are perfect for it. If you wait or delay hoping to get some extra knowledge you will only succeed in delaying it.

Change begins the moment we decide and commit to being different. Think, ‘I can learn to be happy. I can learn to decide to be happy. I can choose to be happy each moment. I am able to learn. I can do positive things for myself. I can chose to do what I want’.

Change Is Inevitable Progress Is Optional – ChooseAnd Commit

‘I am a creator. I created problems I can create solutions. I am powerful. I am positive. I am a learner and a doer. I can do positive helpful things for myself and others. I can find enjoyment where I didn’t know it existed. I am grateful I can walk.

‘I am grateful I can speak.’ Keep on expressing your gratitude. Think of the many reasons you have to be grateful. The people, things and circumstances in your life. Affirm them and feel grateful. Acknowledge your abilities and resources. Affirm them.

Repeat the positive mantras, like those above, again and again. Chant them with strong positive feelings. Make them count. Feeling are the secret to making it all work. The better you feel the more readily you create and attract. It works amazingly well!

Because When You Stop And Look Around This Life Is Amazing

Keep doing it. You may have some  great days, you will. You may have some not so great days, you will. Through all of it keep up the practice. Read positive inspiring books, listen to audios, find positive, uplifting people to hang around with. Fill your mind!

Fill your mind, heart,and soul with the positive, the good, the possible as much as you can during your waking hours. Practice seeing yourself as you want to be in your imagination. If you aren’t too good at it at first, hang in there. You’ll get better with practice.

You probably can’t juggle either if you haven’t tried. You can master both. You can become a great visualizer through practice. Enjoy building your skills and transforming your life. Have fun, delight, express your gratitude and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

I Have To Confess This!

“‘Confession is good for the soul’. Everyone has something they need to disclose. I have to get this off my chest. Not because it is a burden to me, but because it might help many people to understand they are not alone in this. We  all have areas in ourselves that challenge us.

This is my confession. I grew up, longing for the past. I wished I had lived way back ‘when’.  In ancient times. I longed to live in the golden era of Hollywood, too. I looked back and saw glamour as a pirate or as a film star. The past held a deep fascination for me.

As I grew older I longed for the past even more. My good old days. Days gone by. Old friends and passed pets. I cherished the memories. I lived in the present and re-lived the past. As it came time for me to plan for the future I wasn’t very good at it.

Make Peace With The Past – Celebrate And Enjoy The Present 

Of course not, I had little practice. Oh sure, as a child I wanted to be a pirate, a gladiator, a magician, a spy, a detective, a scientist, an astronaut, a movie star. I did have ambitions but I wasn’t actually sure how to fulfill any of them.

As a teen actor and in my early twenties I knew I wanted to act and be a success but I couldn’t imagine what it was like to BE successful.. I wanted to live the celebrity life but couldn’t see it happening. I spent time longing for old Hollywood wishing I hadn’t missed out.

I couldn’t picture myself succeeding. I could more readily picture myself getting hurt, screwing up, and failing, but ‘successful’ that was very difficult. The images were vague and fuzzy. Opaque at best. I was not good at visualizing. To be honest, I sucked being positive.

What Is Ahead May Be Greater Than Anything You Can Imagine

I tried affirmations, creative visualization and never got very far. I abandoned them, then try again later. I wondered what was wrong with me? Why couldn’t I get these things to work? I wondered and lamented at why so many  of my friends were soaring to success?

All around me people became famous and rich,  but I wasn’t. I blamed it on me. I wasn’t tall enough, or good enough, or good looking enough. I thought others were just luckier and I had bad luck, bad timing. If only I had been born into the studio system.

I did workshops and seminars but often felt worse because I felt stuck and broken. I read all the books, I knew all the right info  but couldn’t make it work in my life. I struggled with feeling lost and hopeless. I was angry a lot. Bored, I was incredibly bored.

The Longer You Live In The Past The Less Future You Get To Enjoy

I didn’t know what to do. If you aren’t acting as an actor you aren’t doing anything. The studios didn’t just let you in. Celebrities didn’t help you just because you knew them. A lot of people wanted you for money or sex, or both,  but not for having a star career.

Many took advantage of you in other ways. ‘Work for free you’ll be a big star.’ Lot’s of time feeling down, depressed, angry and abused. It is a rough, tough, pursuit. You hear ‘no’ more than anything. It is easy for some to blame self and others and do drugs or worse to cope.

I don’t share these things because I think they were terrible. Sure, I had it rough. Not as rough as some and rougher than some others. I share them because if I can change my focus from what was to what is and what will be, then anyone can.

In Order For Light To Shine Bright Darkness Must Be Present

If one can change all can change. It is possible! That is what I had to learn. We are capable of transformation and we don’t have to live as we had in our past. Our previous conditioning while difficult to recognize, override and escape is not impossible. It IS possible!

If I can learn to make affirmations and visualization work anyone can. You can! Never say never. For me, it took constant application. Struggle, I gave up. I tried again. I wasn’t smart enough to just keep trying until I was at a point where I couldn’t lose any more.

I’ll share more tomorrow. Whatever your life story is or was you can change it. You, and only you, can make yourself and your life be what you want it to be. Yes, you can! You may have more or you may have less to overcome but you can do it whatever it is. You truly can.

Old Ways Won’t Open New Doors – Change Is Good – Celebrate

Just don’t wait. Begin today if you haven’t already. Decide and commit. It isn’t always easy but it is quite simple. The first step is awareness that you need to or want to change. Next comes the decision and your commitment. Do that everything follows.

Take it step by step. You’ll begin to notice shifts in your thinking and being. Sometimes, the last to change are the results you get. The circumstances, change last, but you change first. Then you can navigate any circumstances. For some, everything changes!

Begin now, right where you are and move forward. Learn to feel and express gratitude and thankfulness because everything in your past brought you to where you are today so you can be who you want to be. Why doesn’t matter. You have wonderful opportunity right now.

All Great Changes Are Preceded By Chaos –  Challenge Is Good

Gratitude opens everything up. When you count your blessings you focus on feeling good and thinking positive. That change right there makes all the difference in the world. Attitude first and all the other changes can follow. So enjoy! Appreciate! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Focus On The Present To Create The Future

“Would you like to enjoy life much more? Would you prefer life be more like a graduation party and less like a pity party? It can be if you do some simple things. The first thing you must do is decide to take charge of your life and run it instead of being run by events.

It is your life. Imagine you created it all just for yourself. All the good and all the bad you designed it just for you. Whether it is true or not isn’t the point. It is a useful frame of mind to adopt that can make a difference in how much enjoyment you experience.

If you are doing it to you and for your benefit then whatever happens is good. Right? Good AND bad. Okay, we have discussed this before. It bears repeating. Everything can be a blessing. Most people miss this. In fact, most people miss most things.

Celebrate What You Want To See More Of

They live as if wearing blinders. You need to see. You need to sensitize yourself and become more aware. Really, you do. We all do. Begin to put your attention on all the wonderful things that happen to you and around you. Celebrate all of them. There are many!

Big moments and little moments. Those that happen to you and those that happen for others. Celebrate all of them. Notice all the good around you. DO you realize there is more good in the world than bad? There are more good weather days than inclement days.

That is just the way it is. Media has sensitized us to all that is wrong, not only near us, but around the globe, day in and day out. Stop! This is insane. There are things that are bad and wrong that DO need to be righted AND yet, there is a  lot of good all around the globe.

What You Focus On Expands – Celebrate The Goodness

There is more than most people realize, notice or appreciate. Appreciate it and enjoy it. Celebrate your wins and others too. When you can celebrate other people’s wins and success and happiness you open the door to create and attract more for yourself.

Genuine delight in others good fortune is a tremendous boon for the soul. Count your blessings. Find the good in each moment. Be happy in all things. Delight and enjoy! Savor it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Your Wins Count Count Your Wins

“Have you ever noticed that some people just seem successful. They are confident and things go right for them. It seems things come naturally and easily for them. They just ‘got it’! What they actually have is a winner’s attitude. They believe they ARE successful.

Another fantastic practice I have suggested is to keep a Success Diary. Record your daily wins. Write them down. Take inventory. Record and reward yourself for each win. Remember them. Wins   can be anything, small or large. You count wins you decide to do.

It is based on intentions. You set an intention to do something for the day. When you complete it you count it as a win. For example, you decide make your bed. Once you make it notate it. You decide to clean your office or the kitchen and you do. That is a win! Congrats!

Winners Don’t Do Different Things But They Do Things Differently

Whatever you intend to do and follow through on is a win. Pat yourself on the back for the follow through and note it. Most people don’t value the things they do that they say they will. They don’t make anything about it special. Yes, you want to. Celebrate!

Build a history of winning. Keep track of the successes you have each day. Intend to do 3, then 5, then 10 or more. Add to it gradually. It is a great way to increase you success ratio and feel good at the same time. Success breeds success. Success breeds success attitude!

If you can be successful in this you can be successful in other important areas too. Build successful completion as a habit that supports you. The more you succeed the more competent you become. Competence breeds confidence.

Losers Say They’ll It Do But Don’t Winners Do It Without Saying

Then success breeds more success. It is cyclic! Keep feeling good about being successful and keep writing it in your daily journal. You can later add larger tasks. You can have weekly or monthly goals too. It is all good. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Create More Good Fortune And Opportunity Through Gratitude

“If I were limited to one thing I could recommend to people that would absolutely change their lives for the better this is it. Yes, there are many different practices and principles that are important that we could apply. Perhaps, though, nothing is as important as this.

When people speak of the Law Of Attraction they talk about vibration and whether it is high and positive or low and negative. The principle behind the law of attraction is like attracts like. AS previously discussed our RAS does this for us. It finds matches.

Negative attracts negative. Positive attracts positive. If you want to attract or create or become aware of more of the good things in life there are some things you can do. I have already suggested keeping a gratitude journal and expressing gratitude daily.

What We Want To Do With Ease We Must First Do With Diligence

Everyday, before bed, write down at least, 25 people, activities, or things you are grateful for. This is a powerful practice and it can change your life. Living from gratitude is even more powerful. On a moment to moment basis you express gratitude for everything.

Anything and everything that is offered you. You’ll find plenty to resist, therein is the point. You begin to become aware of how you interrupt the flow and fight it. When you surrender to what is, that doesn’t mean you can’t change it. It means you accept it. You allow it.

You can change it. Yes, it seems counter-intuitive, or as if I am speaking out of both sides of my mouth, but once you accept it you are free of it. You can change it or not change it and it doesn’t really matter. Free is free. You rise above it. You aren’t subject to it.

Drop By Drop The Tub Fills – Eat The Elephant Bite By Bite

When you can begin to appreciate everything, the good and the bad, then there is no good and bad. All is good. All has something of a blessing and a learning or a benefit in it. Yes, you may have to dig deep to find it, but once you do, it can be transformative.

Knowing this and doing this are two very different things. It begins with awareness and understanding. It isn’t always easy but it is simple. Live in appreciation. Imagine you created all of it so you could learn positive life lessons. That can be a useful frame to have.

Be responsible for all of it and the grateful for everything makes sense. It is all good, even if it appears as if it is not. Learn to let go, learn to learn from, and learn to celebrate everything! Still, a great way to start and practice is to keep the journal. It tunes us to things we are thankful for. Enjoy and really — celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Einstein Ought To Know: Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. This is an absolute fact. Imagination stimulates our creativity and takes us to places we might never go. Knowledge can be useful but knowledge also hampers and prevents us. People are stopped by what they ‘know’.

Even the best scientists, often, can’t see past the limitations of the accepted known into new unexplored dimensions. They are stopped by what they’re certain about. All science is yesterday’s news. It was true then. It may still apply or it may not. We just don’t know, yet.

Scientific ‘fact’ is theory. The aim of science is to create theories that help explain and illuminate. The first goal in the scientific method is a well constructed, operationalized test, that can be verified and replicated. Then tests are carried out and the results examined.

Knowledge Is Limited – Imagination Encircles The World

If the results can be duplicated then they may be onto something. Scientists try to disprove the null hypothesis. They try to disprove their research premise or theory. If they fail to disprove it they may accept is as the best explanation they have to date.

In a nutshell it works this way. Until there is a better explanation ‘science’ accepts the best theory they have to date. Science isn’t about truth it is about exploring and finding the best descriptions. Temporary answers that move us forward to the next discovery.

Science is about uncovering ‘what is’ but not becoming religious about it. However, frequently scientists do. The best minds of the day are often the loudest voices against innovations. ‘If humans were meant to fly God would have given them wings!’

The Man Who Has No Imagination Has No Wings

Often times new, legitimate research has difficulty finding  journal publication because it counters the current, accepted scientific views. If it goes against popular theory or there is no money in it may get reported.  Alternately, some ‘science’ is bought and paid for.

Sadly, in our day, scientific research is reported daily in media without waiting for results to be replicated.  Duplication is a hallmark tenant of the scientific method. If a research can’t be replicated it may be considered questionable.

One example doesn’t cut it. We don’t make a case on one. We rely on more verification for research to be accepted. At least good science does. Media doesn’t care what is good science. It only cares what brings up the ratings and the profits through viewership.

Logic Gets You A to Z – Imagination Takes You Everywhere Else

This is why one day it is reported that, researchers of one study, found X is beneficial for you and the next day another study finds that X isn’t. This is media exploitation, not science.  Many people either believe it and quote it, or assume it is all just media junk.

Either way it impacts on our thinking. Imagination means going beyond what is and what is known. It allows us to move beyond the limitations or what is known about a problem and look into other possibilities. We ought not be stopped by what we know.

Often, however, we are. When attempting to create something new inertia needs to be overcome. Even some of the most progressive minds display resistance when it comes to new and novel ideas. Remember, what we resist persists and this is true of science too.

The World Is But A Canvas To Our Imagination

Accepting new ideas doesn’t mean running to a roof top and trying to fly. If you want to try to fly begin by ascending from the sidewalk not leaping from great heights. Prudence, common sense, which is not so common, is also required. Safety first is a useful frame.

Imagination can take us to places we would never go. It allows us to think big and think beyond the given. It allows us to triumph over circumstances and become the person of our dreams. Act as if, our visualizations, our mental movies are directing our imagination.

Unrestrained imagination can be wildly creative or frivolous fantasy. Directed, intentional use of imagination can help us achieve great things and accomplish our goals and our purpose. Think big, dream big, plan big, don’t let not knowing how stop you, instead adventure.

Real Discovery Is Not New Landscapes But Seeing With New Eyes

Explore. Go for it. Do it!  Act as if you are already that person you want to be. Mentally live it and rehearse it. See it, feel it, speak it, behave it, be it and you can become it. You become what you think about the most. Transform yourself by what IS possible.

Don’t be like the scientist who says no to innovation. The present circumstance, though dire, okay terrible, are not the final answer. Neither are glorious circumstances. Circumstances should not dictate how far you go. You should dictate that. You decide!

Triumph over your circumstances. Learn from them. Grow from them. Discover new ways of being and doing because of them. Accept their challenge and be victorious. If you give up you will have succeeded in giving up. If you keep going you can succeed.

The Results You Get – You Bring About What You Think About 

You decide what your future will be each moment. Give yourself permission to dream big and discover new potential. Had the Wright Brothers not thought about soaring in the skies we might not have flown yet. Thomas Savery conceived of the steam engine.

Had Edison not thought about making electric light available we might not have lamps, television or movies, and much more. Tesla provided us with alternating current. Ford the automobile. Gates, Jobs and others computers, software and smart phones.

Einstein revolutionized science and stated, ‘imagination IS more important than knowledge’. Napoleon Hill stated, ‘What the mind of man can conceive and bring itself to believe, it can achieve’. To innovate we need to dream it up AND believe we can accomplish it.

Imagination And Creativity Can Change Your World

What we focus on we get. What we think about we bring about. Many people use their imagination to end up with less than glorious or even horrible results. Fearing the worst, they worry and rehearse negative circumstances in their mind. Then they live out the results.

Stop negative planning and creation! Create what you want instead of what you don’t want. Focus on what you want. Focus on the good, the positive, and use your imagination to bring that about. What YOU think about YOU bring about. Keep it in mind and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You Get More When You Give It Away!

“Today, share it! Give it away. Only talk about your blessings and the good that happens to you. Put a guard before your lips and keep everything positive. Limit yourself to just the blessings and the good stuff. You’ll be surprised at how much energy and vitality to save.

Not only will you save it but you will feel it. You will feel more alive, free and marvelous. Your overall sense of gratitude and well being will increase. Once you eliminate the negative, as an option to talk about and discuss, great things can begin to happen.  They do!

The Easiest Way To Solve A Problem  – Stop Participating In It

You reinforce the great stuff when you share it with others. You relive it when you replay it. You affirm it. The more you fill your life with these thoughts and conversations the more you create them. Be grateful for everything and you’ll have more to be grateful about.

Make your water cooler and social networking time produce good results for you. Stay focused and relive the good stuff. Let go of the not so good stuff. Help others learn to do likewise. Far better to have a positivity party than a pity party. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
