Whether Or Not You Realize It You Are Doing This To Your Self!

“What do you want? That is an important question. Some want money, stardom, love, fun, family, excitement, simplicity, relaxation and more. Some want better toys and things. Some want to connect deeply with another person. Others want to find their purpose.

Science indicates more and more that what goes on in our outer world, that which we call reality, is actually a reflection of our inner world. Our brains interpret trillions of bits of data that come into us through our senses. We assimilate and draw conclusions.

Our data is run through perceptual filters and then filtered again based on our beliefs, values, conditioning and experiences. We make all sorts of inner transforms and computations outside of of conscious awareness and create a personal map of reality.

Your Inner World Reflects Your Outer World

This map is individual and shared. It is agreed upon outside of awareness. It becomes a governing by consensus. We share a ‘common reality’ or map while we have an ‘individual map’. These can wildly differ while agreeing at the same time. This is amazing.

We are map makers and meaning makers. We assign value to a representation of reality, that we create, because we don’t actually experience reality EXCEPT through our neurological filters. We are steps removed from it. We only know our filtered, created reality.

Our ‘reality’ is a projection. A version of what’s ‘out there’ or ‘in here’ because by filtering data we leave things out. We aren’t even aware it is missing. It is deleted. We either never received it because it was filtered OR we are unaware of it because it is out of our awareness.

To Change The Outer World – You Must Change The Inner World

We distort things. A good example of this is Van Gough paintings. They are a creative distortion of what is ‘out there’. This is a talent. Plus, we generalize. We can recognize many different forms of chairs without having to learn each every time. We are talented.

Our filters limit us but they are also the basis of our creativity and genius. We have to work with what we have, don’t we?  So though neurological transforms we create a map of reality, a representation, or better yet a re-representation, of what is out there. It is a map.

According to science, AND mystics, religious leaders and philosophers we don’t really have much to do with reality. We only know re-representations of it. It is just as if we have an actual road map of our entire life and universe. Our brains map our reality.

The Map Is Not The Territory – The Map Is The Map

Hence, we draw conclusions, make rules, form beliefs, all on limited bits of filtered information which is missing elements and distorted. We don’t have the whole truth in its entirety! We have a map put together of snippets of this and that. Our map is incomplete!

Remember maps you hold in your hand? Now days we have GPS. It is the same. It is a detailed representation of the roadways so we can navigate. It doesn’t contain everything you see along the road. It can’t. It is a representation of what is there. It is smaller and limited.

Our maps are smaller and limited than what is actually ‘out there’. They are incomplete. We live in a microcosm. We don’t have a complete picture. We couldn’t. The map by definition IS smaller than what it portrays. We have an incomplete road map of our universe.

Remember You Operate From The Map Not From Reality

We may have many maps and share many similar maps. To the degree that we share and understand each other’s maps is the degree to which we have rapport. We can understand where the other person is ‘coming from’. We have elements in common.

We see through the glass dimly. We impose our inner reality, our map, on the outer reality, We use the lessor to define the greater and miss many important things. There are no limitations in reality. The limitations exist in our map. Limitations exist in our thinking.

That is why Henry Ford could correctly say, ‘Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are correct’. If we want things to be different for us we need to make better maps. We need to stop limited thinking and think better. The outer reflects the inner.

Make A Better Map – Create What You Want – Say Yes To Life

I repeat. The outer is a reflection of the inner because the inner is all we actually have. We mistakenly think we are dealing with the outer but at all times we are dealing with our re-representation of what we think is going on based on our neurological filtering. Whew!

So to the point. Life, out there, mirrors our thoughts. We create the reality we live in either consciously or non-consciously. The sooner we realize this and take responsibility for it the sooner we can begin to have more of what we want to have. We can become deliberate.

Instead of haphazard creation based on prior faulty conditioning we can choose consciously what we deliberately intend to experience and we can take inspired action steps to bring that new reality about. AS you keep your thoughts positive you create a positive life.

Limitations Don’t Exist In Reality – Limitations Exist In The Map

You create new experiences because you brain looks for these opportunities you otherwise miss. You get what you focus on. If you are focused on problems you are apt to miss positive opportunities as they present because the opportunities aren’t in your awareness.

They aren’t in your map. If the location you want to travel to isn’t on your map how would you get there? Life mirrors thought. If you keep your thoughts positive you create a more positive life. You create more positive experiences. You notice more! You experience more!

Say yes to life and life will say yes to you! You get back what you put out. What you think about you become. Get it? Be grateful and enjoy all of it and all of it can transform in wildly wonderful ways. YOU are doing it! You are changing your map! Understand? Do you?

As Within So Without – As Above So Below – You Create Reality

Take charge of your life by taking control of your inner thoughts and representations. Say yes to life. Delight and enjoy and you will discover more to delight and enjoyment. Think and feel abundance and you will experience more abundance. YOU are doing it! Create what you want. Be grateful. Have fun. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Don’t Be A Moron You Can’t Fly Like Superman! Unless, Of Course You Can!

“Reality is our making. We create reality. Our perceptions, and beliefs, and neurological filters determine what we notice, pay attention to and miss. What we believe makes it so. Whether we think we can or we think we can’t we are correct. Said Henry Ford.

Does that mean we can fly like Superman? My first answer is no we cannot violate the laws of physics. Unless of course we can. So my second answer would be perhaps we can. Who knows? Just because no one has isn’t a good answer. Tell that to Roger Banniseter.

He broke the 4 minute mile record. Tell that to Edison or the Wright Brothers when people told them they were insane for trying. There are plenty of reason why we might be able to fly even if we have never yet done it. I honestly don’t know if it is possible or not.

You Create Your Own Reality – Thoughts Become Things

I do know this. It took Edison 10,000 attempts to get the light bulb right. If you go to a roof top and jump off trying to fly you may only get one attempt. Makes it hard to prove your theorem that way. Start on the sidewalk and attempt to rise up. That is smarter; wiser.

It might take 10,000 trials. Personally, I’m not that interest. So I haven’t tried but a few times in my young life. It doesn’t mean it is impossible even if we think it is. Our thoughts prevent us more than reality from behaving in our own best interests. Really, they do.

For example. You need to make more sales but you let fear prevent you from walking over and talking to the client. The same is true of meeting new people and friends at parties. Some people hug the walls and the bar or buffet table. Consider this next example.

Create The Highest Grandest Vision Possible For Your Life

The number one fear of most people is public speaking. SPEAKING TO STRANGERS!!! People you don’t know and are probably never going to see ever again. People fear that. WOW! I’d be more afraid of speaking in front of my family who loves me than strangers.

Yet, people fear public speaking. THAT is THOUGHTS preventing someone from acting. I guess it all depends on how much you want it. If I told you I’d give you 5 million dollars to give a speech before  10,000 people would you do it? Would it be worth it to try?

If you answer yes, then for goodness sakes why not just do it anyway? I mean come on now! If the reward is large enough then you will do it means there is nothing actually there to be afraid of. You are only stopping yourself from acting because you think poorly.

You Become What You Believe – Thoughts Create Reality

You think thoughts that prevent you and weaken you instead of ones that make you strong and support you. THAT really is all that is going on. You think thoughts that make you feel scared or bad or depressed and so you do not do good things for yourself. I say wow!

I get it though. I have been there and done that too. We all have or at least most of us have over something. Still, we can learn that we don’t have to let our thoughts prevent us. We can think better, stronger more powerful thoughts and become invincible. Powerful.

What you don’t believe that? See, right there IS the issue. If YOU don’t believe it SO WHAT? Big f’n deal. Who died and made you god. What kind of authority are you? Are you an expert in this. I think not since you can’t even do it. Maybe, then you ought to give it a try.

What We See And Find Depends On What We Look For

Don’t let a mental packet of energy prevent you from being more of who you are. Stop letting your thoughts keep you down, insecure, broke and unhappy. Stop worrying and start living. For goodness sake! Consider this next thought very carefully. It may push buttons.

Right now. This moment. Wealth, enormous, incredible wealth and abundance are available to you. Right now massive wealth and power are available to you. You can choose to feel worthy or not. You can choose to accept this. You can choose to accept the best.

You can feel as if you deserve it. I mean, why not? If you answer with why not THAT is your limiting belief or beliefs. Right there! Your answer is what prevents you. Get it? It was automatic. It came right up. I proposed it and you thought, ‘nah. nope’. Not true or whatever.

You Create Your Thoughts – Your Thoughts Create Your Reality

That’s the issue. Consider this. WHAT is the very WORST THING THAT COULD, WOULD, EVER, EVER, EVER HAPPEN if you were to believe 100% that massive wealth, abundance and power were yours right now? How would your life suck? Well,? How would it?

Again, if you have an answer, THAT is the issue for you to resolve. You can, you know. WHAT?  You don’t believe that either? See how persnickety those limiting beliefs can be. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with them. They are just there to keep you the same ole reliable you.

They come up to keep you consistent. Still, you can change them if you want to. See for me, I don’t have to fly like Superman in the air but I want to live like a king on the earth. I want to feel my best and be my best. I want to do and have things. I want my thoughts great!

Hey Wake Up – It Is You Thinking Those Thoughts – Wake Up

I want my thoughts and feelings to serve me. I feel better believing I deserve riches and that I can work for and attain them because there is plenty to go around MORE THAN I like thinking about lack and how things suck and why I’d never amount to anything.

I call it good taste. I choose my thoughts. You can too. Actually, we all have each and every moment. Every moment a we encounter an opportunity we either think positive and take it or think negative and pass it up. Every second we have choices about how we feel.

We don’t live as if we have choice BUT WE HAVE CHOICE. What now, another negative limiting belief poking its head up? Tame it for goodness sake. Choose how you are going to spend your time. It is completely up to you. Pain or pleasure. Negative or Positive.

No One Is Forcing Or Choosing For You – You  Are Choosing

Which is it? You are either growing or dying. Good taste in my book is opting to live to the fullest. Choose your thoughts. Deliberately put your attention on good things. Be thankful. Be grateful. Be filled with thoughts of I CAN instead of I can’t. CHOOSE! Be wise! Be smart. Make your life the life you want! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

This Is Just How It Works! Accept It Or Don’t

“People are marionettes of their own making. They dance on strings;  the result of the conditioning process during their years growing up. They can be freed from this conditioning. They can be freed from habitual ways of doing things. They can learn to be free.

It is an unconscious learning process. That was and still is how we learn most everything. We learned to sit up, balance, crawl, walk and feed ourselves unconsciously. We learned from modeling others and experimenting. We didn’t read a book or talk our way through it.

We learned it all without much conscious effort, other than intent. We tried and continued until we succeeded. During this time and through our early childhood development we adopted other’s beliefs and values. We accepted other’s points of view.

It Is What It Is – Accept It – And Take Charge Of Your Life

Now we live from that conditioning. We made their beliefs our own without ever fully examining them to discover and decide whether we wanted them or not. We learned most of them unconsciously. Today, most of us don’t even know all that we believe inside us.

We operate habitually, subconsciously. We are unconsciously competent at being who we are. We don’t even have to think about it. Those beliefs are us. Well, not really, but they fit so well we don’t know where those beliefs start and end. We identify them as ‘mine’.

Those beliefs become ‘my beliefs’. They have to do with whether the world is a friendly or cruel place. Whether it is good or bad to be rich or poor. They determine whether or not we feel worthy or unworthy of money, love, success and possessions. We live from these beliefs.

You Were Born To Win – You Were Born For Greatness – Be It

We don’t even know how many we have. Beliefs tend to cluster as grapes do. They seem to come in bunches. Until challenged or provoked in some way, or until we attempt to do something outside our personal comfort zone, we don’t even realize they are operating.

When we consciously attempt to change  ourselves we encounter that habitual, unconsciously competent set of thoughts, feelings and behaviors. We encounter those well worn neural pathways. The electro-chemical firings of our beliefs scream ‘Whoa! No you don’t!’

Consciously we call it self sabotage or resistance.  It isn’t any such thing. It is self preservation mechanisms. It is homeostasis. It is the brain working perfectly as it does. The Amygdala, a part of the brain, works to keep everything the same and consistent. It is protective.

You Were Born To Be A Champion In Life – Accept It – Live It

It works to preserve the status quo. That is it’s job. If you want to stray out of your comfort zone your Amygdala rushes in to keep you from getting hurt. It fears for your life (metaphor) it wants you safe rather than sorry. It doesn’t know any better and it works perfectly.

It doesn’t know a penny from a million dollars and it doesn’t know an imaginary threat from a real one. It treats it all the same. You want to lose weight and it reacts by keeping you heavier. You want to make more money and it responds by having you spend more.

Status quo. It works as a thermostat does to keep the temperature the same as the set point it is at. It works to keep you in your comfort zone no matter how uncomfortable that may be. It works to maintain all your prior chronic, habitual, negative conditioning too.

If You Want To Be Better – Do Better – It’s All On You – Create It

Because we have learned to be who we are we can also deliberately decide to learn how to change who we are. We can learn to improve ourselves and operate from a new set of consciously chosen programming instead of the programming we did not get to choose.

This is incredible, fantastic news and it has been around since ancient times. Only more recently neuroscience has helped to validate what few have known for eons. Many hear it but few live it. Many are called but few are chosen. It is a secret out in the open.

We can change and we have been told how. Still, few actually bother to attempt it. Why? Because they are conditioned to not attempt it. Our own programming rises up and says, ‘it will be too hard’, ‘it’s not worth the effort’, ‘you could never do it’, ‘can’t teach and old dog…’.

Everything We Know We Learned From Someone Else

Still, the truth is you and I and anyone can change if we decide to. You, and I, and anyone can live it when we are ready to. This helps us understand the statement ‘the teacher appears when the student is ready’. When ready one accepts that one can change and begins.

Prior to ‘being ready’ one listens from one’s old, chronic, habitual conditioning. That conditioning, isn’t all bad. Some of it is supportive and some isn’t. Good taste or wisdom means you can determine which is which and let go of that which does not serve you.

You can create or learn and embrace that which does support you. It is simple to do but not always easy. Changing any habit can seem tough at first but if you decide to change it you can absolutely change it. Some don’t because they don’t believe they can.

Do Not Let Your Past Dictate Who You Are – But Learn From It

Nor do they give it enough time and effort to make the change. Again, the concepts are simple enough. Yet, most miss them. In practice one must believe and commit and see it through. Humans can make most any change they put their mind to. Truly!

They can become more positive and powerful than they presently think they can. They can get better results than they have gotten in the past when they focus on what it is they want. It isn’t airy fairy wishing! It is the art and science of getting what you want.

A champion athlete knows what is necessary to compete at that level. The same is required to create a champion mindset. It isn’t wishing and hoping. It is action and work. It can be difficult but it can also be fun and exciting. It means becoming aware and noticing.

Doubt Kills More Dreams Than Failure Ever Will – Believe

It means taking responsibility and control. It means managing your thinking and feeling. Whenever you discover you are thinking negatively you shift back to thinking positive. Not always easy but doable. You do it as often as you need to for as long as you need to.

Learning new habits means you correctly repeat the new behavior or new thinking of thoughts over and over again, for a long enough time, for new neural pathways to be laid down. You do it again and again, long enough, until it becomes the new habit. YOU do it.

You do it until you get so good at it you no longer do it consciously. It becomes automatic and habitual. It is just how one goes from playing scales on a piano to being a good pianist, a good baseball player, chess player, chef, seamstress, bicycle rider. We do until we ‘get it’!

The More You Take Responsibility For Your Past And Present …

Habits take time and energy to acquire. Most of yours you acquired growing up. NOW it means deliberately replacing the ones that don’t serve you with ones that do. The process needn’t be thought of  as difficult. It can be fun, exhilarating and exciting. It can be a blast.

Going from the old you to the new you can be an incredible journey. You will think and feel and see and tell yourself and others new things. You transform. It can be positively incredible. So don’t think of it as arduous just because it means replacing habits.

Getting good at any sport, swimming or golfing, can be enjoyable even though effort and commitment are involved. However, how you approach personal change may be from a tired old, negative mindset. Then it won’t seem much like fun and delight. But it can be.

… The More You Are Able To Create The Future You Seek

Change can take time. It can also be almost instantaneous. It can be many different things. It is many different things. Mostly it will conform to whatever you believe it is. So choose how you want to think about it. That can be your first lesson.

You decide whether it will or won’t be fun. Get it? THAT is how it works! YOU make it happen. You are doing it. Enjoy it or not. That is up to you. Easy or hard?  That is your call. When it is tough do you wimp out or love a challenge? Will you commit and be unstoppable?

Will you give up along the way? You decide. It is your journey. A great beginning point is to begin with gratitude. Feel thankful for what you already have and what you are able to do. Be grateful for everything. Live in appreciation! Delight in all of it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Stop Getting Crappy Results!

“Our outer world reality is determined by our inner reality. The results we get are products of the thoughts we think. At one time the chair did not exist. Someone conceived of it, thought it up, and made one. From idea to tangible item. That’s how it works.

Some suggest the outer world accurately reflects the inner. If the outer is peaceful and harmonious the inner is as well. If the outer world is in chaos and discord so is the inner reality. As within so without. This is an important concept to grasp and consider.

If our thoughts, our beliefs (thoughts we repeatedly think over and over) create our reality then it behoves us to think the very best thoughts in order to create the very best reality. It means we need to control our mind and master it or remain a victim to it. Get it?

Tell The Negativity Committee Inside You – Sit Down And Shut Up

Your mind learned to do what it does. It is habit. It is patterned. It is automatic. If you think negative thoughts, worry a lot, feel bad, you learned to be this way. It is chronic and it is habit you acquired while growing up. Since you learned it you CAN change it. You really can.

In order to do so you have to deliberately change it. You have to deliberately create new positive supportive thinking and feeling habits. Then the results you get will be a reflection of those new positive changes. Your outer world changes because your inner did.

Adopt the best possible beliefs. Affirm these. Declare them. Repeatedly expose yourself to these new thoughts. That is how you learned the old ones in the first place. Repetition and strong emotion. Use the same to create new positive thought habits.

Worry Is Misuse Of Your Imagination And Is Negative Planning

As a potential place to begin realize that enormous wealth and power are available to you right this moment. Abundance is yours! You don’t believe it? Of course not. You won’t if you listen to your old negative conditioning. Your old beliefs will make you think nonsense.

The old, which is only doing what it learned to do, is protecting you from changing. It isn’t trying to harm you, it is just keeping you consistent. That’s what it is designed to do. Keep you the same even if it hurts. Still, you can learn a new and better way. Think positive.

Think, ‘I deserve the best! I accept the best! I can learn to do anything I put my mind to. I accept abundance. I choose to think positive. Enormous wealth and power are available to me.’ Think it. Repeat it. Chant it eagerly, enthusiastically, excitedly, powerfully!

Don’t Ruin A Good Day By Thinking Bad Thoughts

Put some oompf behind it. Mean it. If you don’t at first keep chanting it until you do. Day in and day out. Make it your mantra. Make it your favorite song. Think it, feel it, be it! This is HOW you take control.

This is how you claim your mind back. You think and declare what you consciously decide to. You choose the thoughts you think and repeat them again and again with strong emotion. Words don’t mean much but emotions mean everything. Powerful emotions are critical.

Claim your mind back. Live from your strength not your weakness. Decide what you want to believe and make yourself believe it. The choice is yours? Would you rather believe you are powerful and fail at some things or believe you are helpless and fail at a lot.

What Consumes Your Mind Controls Your Life – Consider That

You determine the kind of life you live. How is it working for you so far? If you love it, wonderful. If it needs a little adjustment. Go for it. If you need a major overhaul, so be it. Take charge and take control. Claim it. Declare it. Make your word the law. Live your dreams.

Turn the within into something so incredible the outside delights you. Live from abundance. Live well because YOU DO deserve to. Find gratitude and be thankful you have this opportunity. It may seem slow at first but it accelerates. You will transform beyond your wildest dreams. Delight in all and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

To Enjoy The Boat Ride You Must Take Your Feet Off The Dock

“I say it again and again. I remind people. I am an actor. Why do I do this? Because acting is pretending. I know some will dispute that definition, but my point is, we are all actors. We can pretend anything and master it. I have said this before. It is true AND…

It is important! We can act as if things are a certain way and they can be that way. Our brain works in this fashion. What we believe to be true is what we perceive from. WE THINK it is the other way around but scientific evidence proves otherwise. We operate from frames.

We operate from our frames of mind. If we have a negative frame of mind we experience much more negativity in our life. If we adopt a positive frame of mind we experience more positivity. Whatever we believe to be the case IS the case. There is no escaping this point.

The Only Way To Succeed In Anything Is To Give Everything

As Henry Ford said, ‘whether we think we can or we think we can’t we are right’. Our beliefs (thoughts we repeatedly think over and over again) determine our reality and how we behave in that reality. Having said that, in order to change, we adopt different beliefs.

We use different frames. This is what an actor does. We try on different points of view and different perceptions. We live as if we were the character with certain goals and aspirations, certain flaws and backstory. We act as if we are that person to make it believable.

It is still, after all, pretend, but we utilize a frame. Some of us do, at least, depending on our training. Still, all of us can benefit from the practice of acting as if we already have that which we want to have. We rehearse in advance what it is like to have it. This shapes us.

How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything – Play 100%

It shapes our perceptions and our beliefs of what is possible. It is an immensely valuable exercise. We can use it with any frame. The frame needn’t be true for us to benefit from it. We act as if it is true. This is where great value comes from. We adopt a frame of mind.

We live from that frame. Here is one particularly valuable to try on. When I say ‘try on’ I mean try it on for a while. Act as if it really IS the case. Pretend it is. Try it for a month. Believe it for at least that long. Repeat it over and over. Wrap it around you. Embrace it. Live it!

If after 30 days there is NO benefit exchange it for a more useful one. But at least give it a complete, full, dedicated trial. Don’t dabble but dive right in. Only when you are willing to play full on will you get the benefit you deserve and that is there for you. Halfway sucks!

Be Fearless In Pursuit Of What Sets Your Soul On Fire

Adopt this mindset: Everything you need, (I need) comes at the perfect time. The universe knows the best timing and things will always work out for the best in the end. You may not know how or why or when but they work out in the right time. ALL IS PERFECT.

You will have what you need when you need it. NOT according to you but according to a greater, infinite wisdom. Ask for what you want, tell the universe and then allow it to happen as it will. Do not put constraints on anything. Don’t try to force or manipulate.

Trust, allow and let go. Live from this mind set. Is it true? How do I know and who cares? I am suggesting you adopt a frame of mind that can transform the quality of YOUR life. I am not asking you to change religions I am suggesting you try on trusting for a time being.

If You Want To Win Be Willing To Feel Stupid And Be Embarrassed

Act as if this IS the reality. Be willing to dive into it. Be willing to play, to pretend, to believe, for at least a time being. BUT do it 110%. Halfway won’t benefit you. You can’t have one foot on the dock and the other on the boat and expect to get anywhere. Dive in. Trust.

Allow things to be. Celebrate them as they are. This may seem difficult because it means EVERYTHING is as it is supposed to be. Good and bad, problems and benefits are all according to a greater wisdom and mind than yours. Is there actually a greater mind?

WHO CARES? Act as if there is one. THEN you may actually find out. It is not for me to provide you with an answer. It is for you to discover your own answers. It is for you to live your own truth. People want someone to tell them in advance what is. Nope. No.

If You Want To Win Be Willing To Do Things That Might Not Work

That isn’t how things work. In order to get answers we actually have to put in the leg work. Information won’t change you but experience can. It is all up to you what you get from this or any practice. How well you do and benefit depends on how deep you dive in. Up to you!

No one else can do it or answer it for you. Only you can. Live trusting that everything comes to you when needed. This doesn’t mean you don’t act or work in your own benefit. Do and trust that however it works out there is good in it for you even if you can’t see it yet.

Expect ultimate good and expect miracles and you may find ultimate good and miracles. Perception is everything and you are more likely to discover these if you expect to than if you don’t believe it is possible. Get it? It is all up to you. MAGIC awaits you. Trust! TRUST!

Are You Willing To Change?

“Some people say they want a change. They may even feel that things must change. Some claim they want TO change. If you are one of these people who feels like you want or need to change some things in your life then read on. You can change. The process is simple.

Are you willing to be willing? This is an important question. Many people state they want to change but are unwilling to do just that. If you want your life to change you must change things in your life. You must be willing to try on different things just as you would clothing.

Try it on. Be willing to try it out. Some people don’t vary what they eat much. They have a limited diet. They know what they like or want. They are unwilling to try anything new. If you want to change you must, at the very least, be willing to be willing. Be open. Try it!

You Can’t Grow Unless You Are Willing To Change – Be Willing

Be willing to explore. Be willing to adventure. Be willing to experience some discomfort. Keep in mind if you explore and adventure into new territory the terrain will not be familiar. If you want to change be okay with that. Be available to having it different.

If it is different it can be uncomfortable. When you stay in a hotel or somewhere not your bed, some people have difficulty sleeping at first. It is not familiar or it is uncomfortable. Eventually, that will give way, but you must go through discomfort, at first. Are you willing?

If the answer is ‘YES’ then are you willing to release old, negative limiting beliefs? Are you willing to let go of habituated, chronic, less than glorious or non-productive thinking? If you are many great new wonderful benefits can come your way. New doors open up for you.

If You Want To Change Be Willing To Be Uncomfortable 

Old beliefs are merely old thoughts that stand in your way that you have adopted mostly from others while growing up. They weren’t yours but you repeatedly thought them over and over until they became yours. The time is ripe to let go and trade them in.

Trade them in for better thoughts. Thoughts are either supportive of what you want to do and accomplish or they are not supportive. Become aware of when you are thinking less than gloriously. What do I mean by that? When you are negative or down on you or life.

Notice when your thoughts don’t support you and commit to changing them. Exchange them for new thoughts that are positive and more fulfilling. Trade the old for new supportive thoughts and beliefs. You are no longer little so you have to do this on your own.

Be Willing To Surrender Who You Are For Who You Can Be

It is up to you to notice and make the changes. It is simple but not always easy. Still, it can be done. Hang in there. Think positive from the start. Think, ‘I can learn to do this. I will do this. No matter what I am able to think more positive. I am in charge of my thoughts’.

If you are willing to change then commit to changing. Have fun with it. Don’t take it too seriously but enjoy the process. Always remember you are in a process. That means there may be errors along the way but so what you are learning and changing!

Hang in there. Have fun. Be open, available and willing to change and you can and will surprise and delight yourself. You can change faster than you might ever imagine. While you are changing, now, practice being grateful. Practice gratitude! It will accelerate your learning and your changes. Be thankful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Why Bad Things May Happen To Positive Good People

Perception Is Not Reality But Your Thoughts Make It So

‘Lincoln, King & Gandhi were assassinated & Jesus was crucified. How do you explain their respective demise compared to their peaceful protests, their “love & compassion, acceptance, forgiveness & inspiration”. Was this in their thoughts also?? Of course I have an exception with Lincoln as he allowed the execution of Native Americans because they hunted off their reservation to feed their starving families as the government agent managing the reservation stole the food & sold it & at the same time writing the emancipation proclamation to free slaves. Just does not compute with me. Bridges collapsed with the bombs of assassination & crucifixion.’ Carol Ann

‘Yes, they faced great opposition. If you are asking did they also bring about their demise by harboring thoughts of it, I don’t know. I am not in their head and hearts. Perhaps, but perhaps not. Einstein stated that, ‘Great spirit must always contend with mediocre minds.’

Perhaps, that is more to the case. Perhaps not. However, it is likely that many reacted to their vision with hostility, making this probable. I don’t know. The answer I am most comfortable with others may not be. I don’t know that it is accurate.

That answer is, what is is.

It happened. Good things can happen to bad people and bad things can happen to good. It is what it is. As with anything and everything in life, something happens and our minds rush to assign a reason, an cause, an excuse, a blame or a complaint.

We react to events mostly from previous chronic habitual conditioning and neural wiring. We react. We can respond. We can learn we have choice. We can choose what we think and how it affects us. Most of us don’t.

Most don’t and sadly won’t because it requires effort to learn to create a ‘pause’ instead of behaving unaware. We have to create an awareness first and then choose how we will think and feel and act. It is possible and desirable to do so but fewer people will.

Once we create a pause we are free, freer, from that conditioning. We learn a new more supportive, useful habit. We wire in a new way to be. Accepting what is and being comfortable without having an answer is tough for many humans. Tougher for some than others.

It requires staying open, not knowing the reasons, not knowing the answers. It means not assigning anything to ‘what is’ but accepting it as ‘it is’. Our reasons, beliefs and assignments, our blames and complaints, as well as our productive, feel good ones are projections.

They aren’t truth. They are versions of possible answers. Potential answers, but are only fragments of all the possibilities. We have been conditioned to look for the single cause, the correct answer. There may or may not be any.

Nothing is wrong with our conditioning or our limitations, except that we mostly are unaware of the constraints that bind us. This is why waking up and becoming aware is important. We need to discover that whether answers are true or not they may be useful.

Rather than seeking truth, seek what the answer does. Does it support you or not? If it is supportive and uplifting great. If it is debilitating and harmful why chose it? I personally, believe awareness is mostly a matter of good taste.

Make wise choices that support us over less than glorious ones. Many make poor choices each moment. Learning how to do otherwise is part of our evolution. It is easier to fall into former chronic conditioning. We don’t have to think about it.

The old habits are the path of least resistance.

It is, at first, much more difficult to stay open and transcend that tendency. We can do it. We simply, first, need to become aware that we need to or want to do it. Awareness is the first step. Acceptance the second. We need to accept what is.

We accept what has been going on, and allow it. We need to accept we want to change. We need to bring our awareness to those moments and decide to be different. Usually, at first, it happens. Only later do we realize we thought and felt and behaved the same.

Eventually, we get quicker and quicker at noticing. At some point we manage to become aware ‘as’ it is happening and choose how to respond. We still need to remain open and accept whatever the outcome. Please realize I am using the word need.

We don’t need to do anything. It is desirable to do these things. we can do these things. Need is just another word. All of us choose whether we will or won’t. We are able to move ourselves forward, onward and upward.

That may mean having access to answers we otherwise wouldn’t or it may means answers aren’t so important. I do not know why things happen as they do. I don’t know if ‘the’ answer is accurate or not. I do not care. Is it useful. For me, it is useful but definitely not ‘true’.

There is no way I know whether it is true. I think we are all one with an infinite source of energy. We are the ocean. We are water. Whether together as the ocean or as individual drops on a side walk we are all ocean. Everything (including the sidewalk) is.

We have always been and always will be energy. The individual drops evaporate but remain. It goes back into the system. This energy is consciousness. Everything past, present, future, is. This energy allows for scenarios to play out for the ‘drop’s’ edification.

Struggles, hardship, disappoint, good times, family friends, enemies, ease and opposition are all aspects of it. The drop either becomes aware of this before evaporating or perhaps has some other opportunity.

Some versions of this think we go around once and a place awaits those afterward. Some of who believe that version believe the place is dependent on either a decision and relationship or on acts. A reward or punishment awaits.

Some believe the drops become new drops again and again until they no longer need to manifest as drops. Some believe nothing happens and it is over. Personally, I don’t know or care. I know, for myself at present, I am a drop and also much, more than a drop.

At some time this drop will evaporate. Form will change but energy will persist. I know as of now this is a reason, an answer, an explanation that may or may not be ‘true’. I allow for error. It is all okay. I am divine presence or energy as each of us are.

Whatever happens happens. What is is. How I live my life with love, joy, celebration is what moves me. I apologize I can’t provide a more definitive answer. I think there are laws to the universe that we attempt to understand and utilize if we are aware.

For example. We live on a very tiny globe in a vast expanding space. We are so very tiny yet we appear to ourselves somewhat large. We are huge compared to ants. Small compared to whales and elephants. Perception is everything. We see through a glass dimly.

The earth is spinning while revolving around a sun in s system that rotates as it expands outward into ‘gawd whatever is out there to expand into??’. I have no answer for this. It just appears to be what is based on what we believe we know from our human investigations.

Still there are seasons. There is day and night. There are ‘weather events’ as determined by us. Things happen. Things just are. ‘IS’. Day becomes night and night day. We go from season to season. Why? I don’t know. I only know I can utilize them.

I can plant seeds in one and harvest in another.

I can dress accordingly. I can enjoy or complain. It is what it is. How I respond determines how much joy I have or how much I miss. I hope in a small way I have answered your question. I do know, it is a question for which I have no answer.’

Your Boundaries are Determined By Your Perceptions And Beliefs

That was and is my answer to her, for now. It could change. I know there are people who will say so what, great answer or it sucks. Whatever they do they will do. I know there are people who fight over answers and go to war over issues.

People fight over what they believe. Perceptions are not ‘true’.

So no reader misconstrues: It is important to realize I am promoting what is good and positive. What can you do that benefits you and other humans? What expands and adds value to all of us Seek higher positive good. Love, accept more, create more peace.

Our Character Is Determined By Our Responses To Circumstances

I don’t feel the need to fight about it. I’d rather live and enjoy being the drop. I prefer to discover what I discover. Struggles, for me, are becoming more and more blessings. Opposition needn’t be feared or avoided or hated. Opposition can make us better and stronger.

The more I accept and say yes and allow the more I expand and become free and enjoy. The more I say no and attempt to exclude the more I  contract and feel less than glorious. Neither is ‘right’ or ‘true’ but one is more preferable for me. That is how or why I choose.

When and if I remember to be aware. It is much more likely I will be aware, and you will be, when filled with appreciation and gratitude for everything. When we delight and allow and accept in this fashion so much opens up for us. This is why I say celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Stop Believing Lies

“Why do you believe lies? Why do any of us? Isn’t that fascinating? We are frequently misled? Why is that? Would it surprise you to hear me say I don’t care. Would it surprise you to hear me say I haven’t a clue. Why, in this case may be a pointless question.

Here is WHY. Hahahah! Everything is a lie. Anything we tell ourselves is most likely a lie. Why? Because much of it we adopted from others growing up. We believed what we were told. There is nothing stating emphatically that what they told us was accurate.

We have no actual way of knowing. Everything is really a matter of perception. We can’t know everything. We don’t know what we don’t know. We only have a fragment of what is occurring and that sliver we are aware of is just that, a sliver, not all of it.

What You Say Is What You Get – What You Focus On You Get

Bottom line. We believed what others have said. We believe conclusions we have drawn. All of which could be subject to many different points of view or interpretations which we NEVER consider.  We fail to think from varying different perspectives.

Normally, we think habitually.  The same as we always have. So most of what we tell ourselves good or bad is not accurate. Why believe any of it? Heck, I don’t know. What I do think we need to do is  develop some taste in choosing what to accept and reject.

I say reject foregone conclusions of failure. Stop limiting yourself by believing you can’t. Put an end to unsupportive thinking. Start believing, because you choose to, that success is a possibility. Believe you are worthy and can learn to do anything you commit to.

Affirmations Are Ongoing – Only Affirm What You Actually Want

Believe you can make things happen. Think that and work at that. Heck, why not? You choose what you want to believe. Henry Ford said, ‘whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are right.’ Choose to believe and accept that which serves you and helps you.

Choose those beliefs that move you forward and help you get what you want. No, I am not saying, ‘Believe you can fly by flapping your arms’. However, we do travel by air because people thought air travel was possible. They went to great lengths to make it happen.

They didn’t know how to fly until after they did it successfully. Once they flew they improved on it. All trial and error. They faced great opposition from those who thought they were crazy. Even their own family. Today, we fly because they believed they could and would!

Stop Creating More Problems – Stop Focusing On Problems

Recently, why flying over mountains I had this thought ‘Thank you Orville and Wilbur. I’m up here because you didn’t give up.’ It was an odd thought. Still, I felt quite grateful. I have flown lots for decades. Still, recently, I felt gratitude to two bicycle makers. Thank you!

Stop believing BS that doesn’t serve you. Stop believing thoughts that make you feel bad about yourself. If you did something wrong, feeling guilty or shame or remorse may be appropriate. Pledging to not ever do it again may be the right thing to do. Be accountable.

Take responsibility. It is the right thing to do. I’m not discussing at this level. I’m talking about feeling positive and optimistic that, if you commit to learning to make something happen, that you can do it, given enough time, materials, proper thinking and  attitude.

Create Solutions By Focusing On Solutions Create What You Want

You can learn to do it! You can enlist people or resources to help you. Don’t give up on yourself because of negative thoughts. Stop the negative thinking. Manage your thoughts. Control them. Choose to think positive and  discover the power to control your destiny.

Napoleon Hill said, ‘if you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it.’ The point of the book can be summed up in the title, ‘THINK and grow rich’. How we use our thinking apparatus, how we think and what we think, is within our control. Discover this!

Most people don’t believe it. Therefore, they never learn to control it. They miss out on all the good that comes from running your own brain. Stop believing you can’t and start believing you can! Your beliefs either support you or they don’t. Choose ones that support.

Affirm What You Want – Stop Affirming What You Don’t Want

That is Hill’s premise. You can choose your thoughts and you can make great things happen when you think you can. Perception is everything. The glass has water in it. You decide whether it is half empty or half full. Decide the same about your abilities and your life. Either you can or you can’t. YOU Decide. It is up to you! Celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

Reflections On Another 9/11

“You aren’t born a patriot or a christian or a jew. You are made a patriot, christian, jew, or muslim. Every country, each culture indoctrinates the youth. We are inculcated from birth and raised to be a product of the minds and environment around us.

We aren’t born Americans or Italians or Spaniards or Africans. We are  born people of a planet whose inhabitants have subdivided and drawn imaginary boundaries or borders, whom have institutionalized and nationalized its citizenry. All nations have.

I am not an American. I am not pro-american. I am not a flag waver or a reciter of pledges. I am not anti-american either. I am a human who lives in a particular area on the planet and who must, to some degree, to get along successfully adhere to its practices and rules.

Don’t Ruin A Good Today By Thinking About A Bad Yesterday

I do. AND I understand each group of people have theirs as well. None are correct or true. All have good points and all are flawed. We live in a nationalized world. If we want to engage in commerce we must play by the rules of the areas we are born into.

We can buck the system, reject the system, leave the system for another system but we can’t really be free of the system and live within the civilized world. We may rise above the system and be free in mind and spirit. We are still required to cooperate.Citizens we are.

We can be free in our hearts and soar high in our minds even while tethered to the land we walk on. So, likewise, we can be free of the political indoctrination while playing the game of citizen. We don’t have to live conditioned to jump because we are told we are to.

Forget What Hurt You But Remember What It Taught You

Songs, symbols all have the meaning we give it. Ours and others write their history as they deem it. None of this in intrinsic to us. Our flag, their flag, our anthem, their anthem; we all pledge allegiance to different lands, different rules, different ways of being.

What we have in common is we all do it. All nations do it. We are meaning makers. We are egocentric, we think what we do is important, even more important than what someone else or some other country does. We are all pretty similar in this regard.

I am at times proud of the country I live in. At other times I am ashamed. I don’t believe my country is any better than any other because we say it is. That is the folly of the zealot. Some countries seem more humane than others while others are less so.

Moving On Is Only For Those Brave Enough To Do So – Is That You

Some do good and bad things just as the people who populate any area are capable of. I am not in favor of institutionalized bigotry or discrimination. We are all the same species living within imaginary borders none of which appear on the actual planet. Classified!

Borders only exist on maps and human made globes. Territories are negotiated between people. We all have the same blood, breathe the same air, require food to sustain us, live in the same atmosphere and circle the sun together. We are all riding on the same spaceship!

Race, nationality, religion are all human made. They are distinctions to categorize and divide, designed to separate for political reasons. Groupings that don’t really matter except to those who engineered and adhere to the groupings. Designed for them used against us.

Awareness Is The First Step To Change Understanding The Second

It began with bands and tribes. Long ago humans notice and accentuated differences. They included and excluded based on economics and survival. Marriages and dowries exchanged for power and resources. People, separated, some by ‘blue blood’.

Those deemed born better than others. The haves and the have nots. The castle crowd and the peons. All of it is arbitrary and artificial. Concepts which are strained as we move forward in the 21st century. People fight to preserve the status quo. Vested interests.

Others seek to dismantle it. Some simply to move beyond such distinctions and celebrate our togetherness as people on one planet. We are a large group of fleas on the back of a dog. Not really much more than that. Except, this group can promote life or destroy it all.

Let Go Of The Past And Embrace Everything That Awaits You

We have evolved our technologies beyond our prudent and wise use of them. We are capable of doing great harm because we haven’t learned how to live and get along peacefully yet. We have not evolved ourselves as far or rapidly as our technology. We must.

We would do well to live with greater awareness of self and others. We would be wise to understand we are ALL in it together. We are all fighting for the same things in various ways. Enemies, like strangers, are just friends we haven’t made yet. We could, you know.

Perhaps, we aren’t ‘there yet’ as a species. We are still too concerned with power and control. We seek domination. We compete. We must be the top Alpha dog or we are nothing. Silly humans, we so miss the point. We live in potential paradise.

Life Provides You With Every Opportunity To Learn And To Evolve

Yet, we create most of the problems. Yes, weather and tectonics provide some. All the rest are human made problems we could most probably avoid. Some day perhaps we will. Until then, perhaps we ought to attempt to avoid them. Learn to get along. Become aware.

I think we would be better served deciding what we want that is good for all instead of for just a few. We would be better served building what we want instead of tearing down what we don’t. We focus on the wrong things too often. Let’s focus on the positive.

People celebrate wars and acts of terror. They say never forget but all that remembering hasn’t prevented anything, yet. Perhaps, we should forget and instead focus on the good that came from horrible acts. Promote what we want. Remember that and let go of all else.

I don’t celebrate a tragedy, nor an attack, nor the blame of whom may be responsible. All of that I would prefer to forget. People die everyday. People are attacked every day. People are blamed everyday. Horrible acts happen everyday all around the world.

Learn To Make Better Choices – The Decision Is Yours

I let go of death and destruction. I am not interested in the politics of 9/11 or other dates of destruction. I do remember that people were lost, sadly, tragically, needlessly. I celebrate the lives of those who left us because life is a celebration. We should remember them.

What I celebrate is people coming together to help those in a time of need. People responding bravely and selflessly to assist, rescue and recover others with no thought of the cost to themselves. These people didn’t have to but they did because they cared. 

I celebrate those who helped and got sick and died because they gave of themselves. I celebrate bonding and coming together for the good of each other. When calamity hits people tend to help each other. This is what we need to promote more of. Help each other!

What You Focus On Expands – You Get What You Focus On

Give, be generous. Stop the ‘me against them mentality’ and create a ‘we’ mentality. We are all in it together. We are on this rock until we aren’t. I repeat, we are all in it together. Let’s act like it. Let’s come together. Let celebrate our differences and embrace each other.

The world is filled with far more good people than bad. There are far more good acts than bad acts every day. This is what I choose to focus on and remember. This is what I choose to perpetuate. Life affirming, kindness and generosity toward others, selfless giving and a sense of hope. Peace, love, kindness, charity and goodwill. Be grateful for one another delight in each other. Then celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

How To Get What You Want: The Law Of Attraction Or Neuroscience Which Is It?

“It doesn’t matter whether you believe the Law Of Attraction to be real or not real. Simply consider it a working principle, like gravity. Whether you accept it or not doesn’t matter. Gravity doesn’t rely on you accepting it for the consequences of it to be real.

I don’t think the Law Of Attraction is some magical law that makes the outer world bend to your will. I think of it as The Law Of Cause And Effect. For every cause there is an effect. The notion of like attracts like is simple, birds of a feather flock together.

I don’t make a big, magical, mystical deal about it. I don’t make a big deal over gravity either. I don’t believe or disbelieve in gravity, I accept it as what is. Perhaps, that IS believing, but I go about my day and let gravity do its thing. It will whether I care or not.

Whether You Think You Can Or Think You Can’t You Are Right

Some may prefer to think of the Law Of Attraction as neuroscience seems to regard it. It is a matter of your perceptions and what you believe. Our outlook, our frame of mind, our neurological filters govern what we experience as reality.

Our brain and senses govern our connection with ‘out there’. This is what connects us to the ‘outer world’. Without our consciousness we don’t experience the outer world. Yes, it may actually exist if we don’t, but who can actually say. Einstein preferred to think it does.

Still, if you are in a coma, you may NOT experience the world as we know it. You may but not remember it, you may experience other things or you may not at all. I don’t think the jury is in on that one yet. Prior to human consciousness no one determines a day good or bad.

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together

No one complained about the weather. That takes weather and a human AND a purpose. If you plan to plant and the weather destroys your seeds one might consider this NOT a good thing. Because you wanted to plant and now you can’t it sucks. That is what humans do.

Humans add a judgement to what is. They add the value. They make it one up or one down when the reality is IT just IS. So people do the same with ‘faith’, and with ‘science’. We judge everything! We judge everything from our own limited perceptual maps and filters.

We, according to ‘neuroscience’, KNOW that we can’t KNOW everything but we act as if we do. We often act as if we ARE the authority and as if what we THINK is the case, is the case. It most probably isn’t but that doesn’t matter to us. We think it is.

Awareness Is Needed For You To Deliberately Change

So neuroscience is all about your neural pathways and perceptions and consciousness or awareness. It looks at our how awareness has evolved through time. Philosophy and religion do too. All of it is our best guesses about the nature of things.

I believe that we have an opportunity to get our brain and mind to work for us instead of seemingly against us. I believe our brain and mind IS important in how we experience the world and the results we get or don’t. I believe it does matter what we think and do.

Without human thought none of our human creations would exist. Thought created this world as we know it, good and bad. None of our buildings, roads, electronics would exist without thought and the ability to carry out plans. These exist because of thinking.

Thought Or Mental Action Precedes All Action 

Thought is a powerful creative force. Some people are free because of their thoughts some are imprisoned. Literally and figuratively. How we go through our daily life is dependent on the daily thoughts we think. Our results stem from our mindset and attitude.

Our feelings and actions, our habits are dependent on what we are thinking. Good thoughts lead to good feelings which lead to good actions and good habits. This pathway leads to good results. Are the results guaranteed? Nope, but they are more likely than not.

If you work at it and never give up you are bound to get further than the person who thinks they can’t or won’t. If you start and keep going  you are bound to get further than the person who never starts regardless of whether you know what your are doing or not.

You Reap What You Sow – What Have You Planted

It’s has everything to do with self alignment. You think and then you do and get back according to your thoughts and actions. Cause and effect, the Law Of Attraction or neuroscience, or pseudoscience you act and reactions occur. You shove and someone shoves back.

Get it?  You don’t have to make it mystical. You can see it happen everyday. You can see thought bring about results in action each moment. All you have to do is look and listen. Watch the people who whine and complain and what they think is preventing them.

Regardless of their answers or assignment of cause, the bottom line is, if they are complaining about not getting, they aren’t getting. It isn’t benefiting them to complain IS IT? Blaming not planting on the weather still means not planting. Until you plant nothing happens.

Don’t Expect Corn If You Plant Beans – You Reap What You Sow

YOU have to do it regardless of what you THINK prevents you. Obviously, I mean this to be about getting the good you desire for yourself and others in honest and legitimate ways. A conscience is still a good thing. More people need to use it.

Your thoughts affect how you  feel and the results you are able to get. It’s not magic but seemingly magical. So whether you believe you connect with the Universe or the Law Of Attraction bestows things on you or that your brain is doing it all doesn’t matter.

Just get your mindset straight and working for you. Think and grow rich as Napoleon Hill said. Think and create. Think and attract. Think and make your good thoughts happen because you are the principle thinker and architect of those thoughts. Do it. No one else will.

You Can Plant Flowers Or Weeds Which Are You Planting

Find or attract like minded people who are interested in making the same thing happen as you are and work together in harmony and precision. That is loosely the basis of a mastermind group. Birds of a feather flock together whether they are thoughts or birds.

Like minded people accomplished great things in this world in spite of experts and others, and their parents, telling them they couldn’t and that they would fail. They triumphed in spite of hardship, bad weather, raging seas, opposing forces and armies.

Most succeeded because they believed they would and because they felt they must. They thought straight into it. They acted their way forward. They let nothing stop them. Whether they believed in god or not they did it. You can too. You can make it happen.

To Get More Good You Must Think More Good And Do More Good

You don’t have to believe the Law Of Attraction is real or not. You don’t have to accept neuroscience. Make it happen because you believe you can make it happen. Then work to do it. If you believe in your purpose and in yourself you can bring it into being.

You can enlist the aid of others if necessary. Most things need others sweat or finances. People need people to move things along. Be nice. Go first if you want others to join you. Treat them well and be a person they can like, trust and be loyal to. Live high standards.

Think your way to success. Aim your thoughts. Manage them and your emotions and you can prevail. Be the Law Of Attraction in action and draw all good things unto you. Believe you can. Believe you can find or create away around any obstacle. Then you will.

Your Thoughts Make It So – Perception Is Everything

Attitude IS everything. Enjoy life to the fullest. Have fun. delight. Make it delicious. All work and no play, you know! Stop and smell the roses. Share your delights with loved ones and others. Be generous not stingy. Feel thankful and blessed and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
