Stop! Distractions And Judgements Cause You To Fail

“With so much unrest in current affairs it is easy to get caught up. It is downright seductive. It is a major distraction. How much time is lost, spent finding out about, watching, worrying and fearing the worst about our present day affairs?

It’s a  preoccupation beyond one’s personal issues.  We get caught up in national and global ones. I have to admit it is difficult not to watch the news sometimes. I even find myself, at times, picking sides and posting on FB my own displeasure with what occurs.

Then I stop, remember and realize I am getting caught up in less than glorious thinking and acting. I want to put a guard before my words and thoughts.  I want to think and speak only to bless, heal and prosper. I don’t need distractions I need to focus on good often.

Starve Your Distractions – Feed Your Focus – Take Action

I recall I wrote quite a blog on being willing to forgive those who do us harm and to forgive others and ourselves. I remember this, and then  I realize I need to make a shift. I need to move away from the less than glorious and discover more of the truly glorious.

It is time to give up the fascination with news and current issues. I don’t mean we have to turn a blind eye. I am not saying there aren’t serious issues that require addressing. I am saying focus on what I  want. Focus on what I want to create, not on the circus. Get it?

I have been labeling and judging people. Instead, I should send them positive energy, love and light, I should bless these people and wish them the best. I should project positivity into all my relationships and doings, private, public, national and global. I should walk it.

If You’re Not Moving Toward Your Purpose – Leave It Alone

Not just talk it. Live from the heart. Live connected to source. I should rise above the current reality and imagine the reality I want to create instead. Then I should take positive, inspired, action steps toward making that come to pass. I don’t build up by tearing down.

Speak only to bless, heal and prosper. Love and forgive. Suspend judgement. Bless your accusers. Bless the naysayers. Bless those who seek to do harm. Forgive. It isn’t about them. They will be who they are. It is about you. It is about me. It is about how we live.

It is about our character, our values. It is about living from higher self instead of getting caught in the morass. Drop pretense. Drop judgement. Drop feeling superior. Let go of the ego. Allow what is to be what is. Imagine everything happens for a reason. Allow, let go.

Be About Actions Not Distractions – What You Focus On Expands

Imagine it is all a divine cosmic play. Live in love. Live feeling blessed. Life is too short to worry and fear and hate. Love, live, laugh, learn and let go. Let go and let god. Go with the flow. Send positive energy to everyone. Seek to raise consciousness not dampen it.

Yes, it is tempting to get caught up and I sometimes do. When I fall down, get up, brush off and continue. Live loving life. Enjoy, delight, sing and dance. Life is short so make the most of it. Fill each moment with what you want to have more of and you will get more of it!

Create what you want. Focus on what you want, what you enjoy, what you love, and what you want more of. Let go of the rest. Have fun. Seek to uplift yourself and others.  Be grateful. Be filled with gratitude and a sense of being blessed. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You Are Not The Thoughts You Think

“You are not your thoughts. None of us are. We forget that. That is an issue for us. We can watch our thoughts. We can control and manage our thoughts but we are not the thoughts we think. We are beyond our thoughts. We are influenced by our thoughts.

The person who thinks s/he is from mars we call crazy or insane. We don’t believe the person. We say they have a thought disorder. Doctors identify numerous thought issues. This should tell us something important. Not about the doctors but about us.

We can think supportive thoughts or non-supportive thoughts. We are affected by thoughts we think. We  respond to our thoughts with feelings. Our feelings determine our actions. This is all learned. This is all habitual. You had to learn to think. You had to learn language.

We Become What We Think About Repeatedly

At birth it is unlikely you thought, ‘wow, I made it’. Even if it is true you made it. You grew up learning words and thoughts from the people around you. You learned good and bad, right and wrong. You learned to identify with these concepts, and other concepts, too.

Limitations you may have only occur in your thinking. This is true for all of us. We are not the limitation. Our shabby thinking is. This is great news because we can change our thinking. Perhaps, not over night but we can recondition ourselves to think supportive thoughts.

Beliefs are only thoughts we repeatedly think through time. We can change our thinking the same way we learned it. We expose ourselves to positive, productive, supportive thoughts and we repeat this for a long enough period of time. We replace thoughts.

What You Focus On Expand – Thoughts Are Things

The knack to transforming is to not believe the BS you already believe. Don’t buy into perceived negative limitations. No you can’t fly that is another disorder. You can make positive changes. You are a resourceful person. You can learn to do most anything in life.

Continue exploring these blog pages on how you can do this. It is filled with principles and practices to help you more easily and readily make the changes you desire to make. How To Speak And Write More Powerfully And Persuasively

I posted this previously, some time ago. However, it is useful to know and apply so I post it again. Study it and use it. Go deeper and learn more and your effectiveness will grow and grow. When you learn how to direct your own mind you become its master. Enjoy! Enjoy!

The following article I wrote for Joe Vitale long before he appeared in The Secret. It is based on my work from the 1980’s onward. The article is formatted as it was for Joe’s site and includes date and copyright. Truly, learn from this and master it. Benefits are great!

You may notice many things from this article that are common place today. They weren’t so common place back in the 80’s 90’s and early 21st Century. Much of my work is now widely used in other’s books and programs all around the world. This pleases me to no end. I’m glad to be able to help! The work made its way near and far.

Some even showed up in some popular movies. See if you can spot or recognize a particular reference from a wildly popular film.

How Questions Can Make Your Writing More Hypnotic  Article by Rex Steven Sikes

Did you know there are actually three languages inside the English language? That’s right, at least three!

There is the language of pictures or how things appear, how we see or view them in our mind as well as out there in the real world.

Second, there is the language of sounds or what we say to ourselves and what we hear on the inside.

And third there is the language of feelings, like when something wonderful grabs hold of us and makes us feel warm and special inside.

Knowing the three languages and incorporating them into your hypnotic writing makes your appeals even more powerful. Words like “paint, picture, imagine, bright, dim, flash,” are visual words.

Words that convey sound or auditory information are words like “discuss, hear, harmony, tell, say to yourself”. And words that help us feel things are words like “warm, cold, shudder, feel, grasp, walk through, get a hold of, heart to heart”.

By spicing up your writing with these words you help others begin to imagine more clearly what you are saying because you appeal to at least three of our five senses. And that’s a tasty thing to do that will spice up your writing and make it more vivid to the people who are reading your work.

But that’s not all there is. There is something even more incredible, that directs the human mind to pay attention. Do you know what that is?

Not yet, but I have just given you some great examples. It is the power of questions. You see questions direct the mind. That is true whether you are asking a question of yourself or another person.

Perhaps you say “Yeah, who says?” See there, you just asked a question! And the incredible thing is that this is what our brains are designed to do: Ask and answer questions posed to it and find solutions and new behaviors.

Brains love questions! That’s what brains do all day log. They go in search of things they can do that make life more interesting. Your brains already know how to search for and find information. The key is learning how to use questions to direct your mind in powerful and positive ways.

The problem with most people is that they already use questions to get results they don’t want. They ask things like ‘Why do bad things always happen to me?’ or ‘How come I never do anything right?’ or ‘How come others always get ahead?’ or ‘Why am I so stupid?’

And guess what? Your brain knows exactly where to go in your personal history to find the answers. What your brain does is go on a search, and then comes back with things like ‘Well, it’s because you stuck your head in the toaster when you were four years old’, or ‘You didn’t have the right kind of teachers, or parents,’ or ‘Bad things always happen to good people’.

You see, it is automatic. Ask a question of the brain and it answers in a great variety of ways. In fact the brain keeps on working on the questions long after the answers start being delivered. You know how that is, don’t you? You certainly do if you ever experienced that critical voice that keeps ragging and nagging on you long into the night.

Would you like to find a way to end that? Would you like to be able to direct your mind in powerful, positive ways? Do you want to be more influential and positively persuasive in person—and in your writing?

The key to having more wonderful things happen within you is to help the brain help you by redirecting what it already does well. If instead of asking questions like the negative ones above, we learn to instead begin asking questions about how wonderful things are, then the brain has a positive direction to follow.

And by focusing our attention on what we want instead of what we don’t want our brains can help deliver the good things to us. There is a rule that states, ‘What you focus on you get.’ So if you are focused on negative questions and negative things, the brain goes “okay I can deliver that”.

The brain isn’t biased. Good or bad, it just does what it knows. So we need to grab hold of it and utilize it to our advantage by redirecting it and then letting it run.

For example, you ask this instead: ‘I wonder how soon before I begin to realize how talented I am?’ or ‘I wonder how quickly I can realize how fortunate I am?’ or ‘How delighted will I be to discover my powers of persuasion increasing rapidly?’

You see, when you direct your mind to what you want, your brain says, ‘I don’t know the answer but I’ll go and find out.’ And that is the key! You ask a question which sends your brain in the direction of what is positive that you want to have, but to which you don’t know the answer yet.

If you are familiar at all with powerful hypnotic languaging, you will already notice the kinds of useful hypnotic language patterns I use in these questions. If not, well then be happy there is more for you to learn which will help improve what you do.

The incredible thing is your brain already knows exactly what to do. For example, if I ask you “Where did you get the shirt you are wearing as you read this?” Your brain probably knows what store, when, where, or that it was a gift. It won’t answer me by telling me you were abducted by aliens when you were a teenager or some other kind of frivolous answer.

It knows how to go after the class of information you present it with. And realize that I directed your mind with a question to the kind of information I was after. If others were listening to us as we spoke, their minds would be directed to where you got your shirt, as well. This is powerful to know although it may seem obvious.

So the key for your own personal improvement is asking yourself questions which lead your mind in useful directions. If you want positive results, you ask something like ‘How soon can I begin to discover the wonderful results I am already getting? And as I begin to notice those how many more can I discover that delight and amaze me?’ You would do the same if you were talking to, or writing to, another person.

Now let’s say you are selling another person a pen. And you ask, ‘Want to buy my pen?’ The person obviously can answer with ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Because the question you asked didn’t lead to further exploration. It lead only to a single “I want it” or “I don’t.”

But notice if you ask ‘Do you know how delighted you will be when you buy my pen?’ You aren’t directly asking them to buy it. (Well, in fact you are using another hypnotic pattern known as embedded commands). You are focusing them on something they can’t yet know the answer to: And that is the amount of delight they may experience.

I call this Mental Aikido. You side-step the issue of buying by focusing them on a positive attribute of owning the pen: the delight. So they can say ‘no, I don’t know how delighted I will be,’ in which case you have a door open to go ahead and demonstrate it for them.

Or they say ‘Yes I know how delighted I will be,’ and then they go to buy it. Or they give you further information that would be necessary for you to know to go ahead and make the sale. Any which way you cut it, you now have a powerful tool in your hands to help you influence and sell. Follow?

You can influence others by directing your own brain! In fact, when you learn how to direct your own brain and use its already existing features in a user friendly way, you will enjoy more influence, power and happiness in your life. That’s because you turn your brain into a powerful ally. And you certainly would want to do that, don’t you?

While this method ofDirected Questions™ is something I teach for incredible personal power and life enhancement, I thought you might be interested in a strategy for being able to get your readers to really respond to your hypnotic writing. So here is something else you can use to really add to your hypnotic writing abilities:

These next questions are ones to ask yourself to help you become more creative and begin to be able to paint word pictures for others, so they can readily see what it is you are talking about, so that they more readily feel like going ahead with what you propose.

The brain and eyes are wired together. This means that when we move our eyes we access certain portions of our brain. When we look up we mostly access the visual portions of the brain. When we look laterally side to side or down left we mostly access the auditory portions of our brain.

When we look down to the right we mostly access the kinesthetic or feeling portions of our brain. We actually access more than just these areas but we access these areas in greater portions when we move our eyes in this manner. Hence, we can learn to move our eyes systematically to gain greater access to the wonderful information stored in our brain.

Step 1. Look up (don’t move your head, just your eyes) and say ‘What do I want to show my readers?’ ‘What is it I want them to see clearly and how can I best get them to picture that in their mind?’ Spend a few seconds entertaining that question while looking up, entertaining how you can help your reader picture in their mind what it is you want them to see.

Step 2. Now move your eyes down to the left and ask ‘What is it I want them to say to themselves as they read it?’ and ‘How best can I tell them what it is I what them to really pay attention to?’ Again spend a few seconds in your own mind entertaining how you can best help your readers say those things to themselves that you would want them to say as they read your writing.

Step 3. Now move your eyes down right and ask ‘What is it I want them to feel as the read my writing?’ and ‘How best can I get them to have these feelings?’ And spend a few moments getting a grasp of what you want them to feel as they progress through your written material.

Once you have asked those questions, now take a short break and do something else for a little while. Let your unconscious mind work on it. I used to go watch TV and get caught up in a show. But soon I would find the wheels start churning, and I would hop over to the typewriter (in those days) and begin writing. Things began to flow.

If ever I got stuck, I simply asked the questions again and took another break. Later I would go back and edit and re-write the paper to polish it. But this unlocked the creative juices in a very particular and powerful way.

You ask yourself how you can show them in your writing, tell them and get them to feel in your writing. You can additionally ask ‘What is it I really need to say to get them to buy? What do they really need to know? How can I best word my letter to really get my points across? How soon can I find the words and ideas flowing through me in a way that amazes and delights me?’

Or ask any variation of those questions that leads you to the results you want. Then take a break and let your unconscious mind go to work. But remember to come back to the project after your unconscious has had a little time to work on it for you. Often I found that once, maybe two or three times, were necessary to get it the way I really wanted it.

Remember you want your reader to be able to picture themselves using your product. You want them to imagine what it would be like to have it or to miss out on it. You want to paint vivid detail in the mind’s eye of your reader to help them to have the feelings of wanting, desire, or need for your product. Or to feel that’s enough to stop whatever they are currently doing and follow through on what your proposal is.

You want them to say ‘yes’ inside their head and hear positive sounds and voices as they read through your letter. Yeah this is great, this makes sense, wow I can do this yes. And you want them to have the feelings of desire, certainty and taking action.

You really want to take them by the hand and walk them through this process. Combine this with your other hypnotic writing skills and you become a real powerhouse.

So remember to ask the questions which direct your mind to what you want your reader to see, hear and feel. Direct your reader to what you want to be able to show them, tell them and help make them feel. You do this by using questions to direct your mind to what you need to pay attention to first in order to influence some body else.

By previewing in your mind what you need them to see, hear and say, and feel to themselves, you can begin to paint pictures with your words that will get them excited about your product or service in a way that makes them feel they have to have it.

And this truly is hypnotic, isn’t it?

Don’t Buy It When The Gurus Say You’re Screwed

“Have you ever noticed that the self help law of attraction gurus tell you you must focus on what you want and that you attract only what you are. They emphasize the positive and the wanted and tell you to eliminate and ignore what you don’t want and wish to exclude.

Then they turn around and tell you the problem is you and your unwanted beliefs and behaviors and turn your focus from what you want to what you don’t want. The hidden recesses of your unconscious. They tell you it is hard to change and necessary.

I think they should tell it to you like it is. Yes, you learned old programs and were conditioned to believe them over time. You accepted them without realizing it and the are automated and reliable. they work without you having to think about it.

You Have All The Tools And Resources In You To Make Any Change

The brain works as it is designed. Learn, wire in neural pathways and automate it. The brain doesn’t care if the behaviors or thoughts are beneficial or not, good or bad, true or made up. Those aren’t in its pay grade. It only does what it is designed to do.

Keep you alive and help you function day to day. So if you learned to smoke and it became a habit, you smoke. One day you consciously decided to quit. You try but it is difficult. The huge engine of unconscious behaviors and habits run on and on.

As they are supposed to. It is not trying to sabotage you or prevent you from anything. It is doing what it learned to do.  It is working perfectly as it is designed. The only thing you need to do IS TO focus on what you want and nurture that.

Start Where You Are – Use What You Have – Do What You Can

Remember, the story of the two wolves inside you that are fighting. The one that wins is the one you feed. Feed what you want. If you think it will be hard then it will be. If you think it easy it will be. Beliefs are like that. What we belief tends to be the case.

We see from out mindset. We don’t see what is there. We see what we believe to be there. This is another function of the brain and the reticular activating system; to find matches within our experience and within our circumstances to our habitual mindset. The old one!

If you want to find new things you have to change the mind set. Stop thinking you are sabotaging yourself and realize you work perfectly well. You have changed some of your desires and now you want to go after them. Old habits remain but you can replace them.

Stop Doubting Yourself – Put In The Effort To Make It Happen

The easier you think it will be the easier it will be. It most likely won’t happen over night. We should still think realistically. It will happen soon enough as you keep at it. Encourage yourself, nurture yourself, feed yourself the positive, the productive, the joyful.

Leave the sabotage to the gurus selling another reason why you need them. Find your inner strength and happiness. Find your delight and celebration. Yes, there may, and most likely will, be speed bumps. That is all part of the wonderful universe we inhabit. Don’t focus on the speed bumps. Focus on where you want to end up. Celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

Here’ s How You Can Make The Law Of Reciprocity Work For You!

What is reciprocity? Is is the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit. You and I see it and experience it in action every single day. It works like this. I take you out for lunch and pay. You tell me, next time it is on you. You reciprocate the kindness.

I have a rule which says, Go First! If you want respect from others give them respect first. If you want to be listened to, be willing to and listen to them first. Whatever you want, offer it first, and because of the Law Of Reciprocity you are much more likely to get it back soon.

Get it? That is why people bring gifts to wine and dinner parties. They feel they should. That is why salespeople bring in doughnuts or why companies have candies or treats at trade shows. You take their gift you are more likely to listen or to purchase. It works. So use it.

Life Has  No Menu – You Get Served What You Deserve

Learn to make it work for you to get the good things you want by giving good things to others FIRST! It is the Law Of Attraction at work. Instant karma. What goes around comes around. Practice paying it forward and your world will change in delightful ways!

If you want acceptance and love from your family or friends then you must accept and love them first. The truth is reciprocity works in reverse too. If you resent and dislike others, harbor thoughts or feelings of ill-will, others are more likely to do likewise back to you.

This is important. You get what you  focus on. You get back what you put out there. Perhaps, you want to examine and check your attitude and thoughts about those people close to you. Make sure you are thinking and feeling your best about them. Give them your best.

Life Is A Boomerang – What You Give You Get In Return

You are more apt to gain their co-operation when you need it if you are a likable, lovable, accepting friend or family member. This works with strangers too. Be nice. Light up when you see someone. Compliment them genuinely and your day will become more grand!

Bless people! Bless your family and friends. Wish them well. Give first and you will get back. This is important, Give to Give not to get and your results will be much better. When you are genuine it works wonders. Love, bless, accept others. Be grateful and celebrate everything!’ Rex Sikes

Do A Body Good Now And Then

“Remember, to maintain a healthy body and a healthy mind. A lot of what I write is about the incredible power we all have to manage our thoughts and control our mind. It is just as important to house that mind/brain inside a healthy body. Make sure you take care of it.

Get plenty of rest. Sleep. Eat well. Eat healthy. I prefer organic but whether you care for the label or not attempt to limit processed foods and eat nutritious whole foods. Fresh vegetables and fruits. The finest quality meats (if you indulge). Don’t skimp on your food.

Fast food today is really not fast, cheap or food. Avoid food substitutes. Drink plenty of pure fresh water. Stay well hydrated. A rule of thumb advocated by many is to divide you weight in half and convert half to ounces. Drink that amount during your waking hours.

Taking Care Of Yourself Is The Best Selfish Thing You Can Do

For example: A 200 lb man should drink 100 ounces of water during his waking hours. If your urine is bright yellow you aren’t drinking enough. If it is clear you are drinking too much water. Pale yellow tint is about right. Stay well hydrated you will have more energy.

You will also loose more weight or maintain you weight more easily. Get plenty of exercise. You choose but move your body. Walking is excellent for overall well being. You will increase your stamina and become more fit but not more muscular. Stretch, become flexible.

Consider your mail delivery person. If they walk they may be trim but they rarely become muscular. Walking an hour a day or more is desirable. Stand when you can. If you sit a lot attempt to get up every 20 minutes or so. Don’t sit for long periods. Breathe. Breathe.

Today Do One Thing To Take Care Of You – Do It Again Tomorrow

Take breathes. Get fresh air. Take a pause to breathe. If you work on computer a lot take an eye break about every 20 minutes too. Look as far off as you can. Look all the way out the window or across the room. Shift your focus to the distance. Rest your eyes. Relax.

Smile more. Laugh more. Have fun taking care of yourself. Approach it lovingly. Gift yourself when you do things in your best interest. Not all the time but every so often reward yourself for accomplishing something you set out to do. Enjoy the reward.

Love and appreciate your body and you mind. Appreciate yourself for taking care of you. Assist your body in taking care of you by maintaining a positive mindset and a lit inner light or spirit. Have fun. Play games. Skip, sing, dance, play music.  Do yoga. This is the key!

You Can Get Old Pretty Young If You Don’t Take Care Of Yourself

Be grateful to your body, mind and spirit. Love your body, mind and spirit. Edify and uplift it. Too many people think and make negative comments about what they do not like. Start liking everything. Start validating your body, your mind, your emotions and your spirit.

When you do you will begin to notice changes. These may be subtle at first. Remember, what you put out comes back. It goes around. Your body, mind, emotions and spirit will be more responsive to you when you appreciate, love and validate. You get what you focus on.

Love yourself. Enjoy yourself. Feel inspiried. Read inspirational material. Share and inspire others. Immerse yourself in healthy mind and body practices. Surround yourself with joy. Relax, take a bath, let go. Be stress and carefree. Celebrate! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Accept no imitations. Be authentic.

The Secret To Getting More Acceptance And Respect From Your Loved Ones

If your answer is yes to any of the above questions you can have more of what you want. The first step in getting anything or making any change is knowing what you want that is important to you. The second step is being willing to do what it take positively to get it.

That means know what you desire. Believe you can make it happen. Feel good about that. Take action to bring it about. Keep at it until you get it. That is the formula in a nutshell. Now the added critical component. You get back what you put out. This is most important!

What Goes Around Comes Around Do Good And It Will Follow You

If you want love, acceptance and respect you need to give it first. When you give it it can be returned to you. If you say, ‘wait, wait, I already do that!’ and you don’t have the results you want, you have the feedback you need to make the necessary changes, right now.

If you aren’t getting what you want you aren’t putting out what you want to get back. You may think you are BUT you are not. You are putting out something else. That means you NOW have the opportunity to examine what you think you are putting out.

Are you secretly harboring some resentments? Are you freely giving love, acceptance and respect without judgements or labels? Are you withholding in any way? Are you open to taking your relationship to a higher more positive level? Are you connecting well with others?

Some People Create Storms Then Get Mad When It Rains

Much of the time we think we are doing everything we can. Many of us think we are not the problem it is the other person or  life events and circumstances. The opportunity before us is to adjust our thinking, emotions and actions to more successfully get our wants.

Examine your attitudes and beliefs. Examine what you are putting out. Be sure you give love, acceptance and respect without reservation. Wish them well no matter what. Bless them. Forgive them and yourself. Accept them without any judgement.

To assist you affirm it. Decide that you are open and more loving and accepting. Declare it. ‘I love myself. I love my family. I love who they are and how they are. I allow people to be who they are. I accept and respect my family. I easily connect with them. I have a great family.’

Think Good Thoughts – Say Good Words – Do Good Deeds

Use those or create positive similar ones tailored for your specific needs. Ask yourself how you can be more loving and accepting. Wonder what you can do to help them know they are loved and appreciated. Visualize yourself behaving positively with them.

Don’t visualize them changing. Visualize yourself changing and them responding to your changes. Do not try to control or manipulate them to be different. You need to change what you are thinking, feeling and doing. If you attempt to control them that is the problem.

Remember what you resist persists. If you push back you get more push back. If you accept and love and allow instead, you get more back. Don’t expect overnight changes but expect that seeds you plant will grow to fruition as long as you continue to nurture them.

What Goes Around Comes Around – Keep The Circle Positive

Whatever you put out, think about most and how you feel, your energy, is what is returned. Remember birds of a feather flock together. If you aren’t getting what you want that is information you need in order to be able to change it. Get it? You change then it does.

You get back what you put out. Put out unconditional love, acceptance, respect, liking, getting along, delight in each other so that you get that in return. Be grateful for who they are and appreciate them in your life. Celebrate them. Celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes

Stop Acting Like Your Tongue. Just Stop It!

“I am going to share a small event that happened today. However, there is a large lesson that can be learn. The event is an analogy for how we approach difficulties and what we can and must do instead if we’d like to get over them. If you want your life to change, then, you must change things in your life. That is how it works.

This morning, at breakfast, I broke my tooth. It must have been a cap. I don’t recall having any front teeth capped but while chewing I noticed something gritty and stopped to extract what appeared to be a tiny piece of bone or tooth. It might be a tooth and not a cap. All I know for certain is there’s a dentist in my future.

At first I thought it was something in my food. I decided to run a check.I ran my tongue along the bottoms of my top teeth and didn’t notice anything, at first. I sipped some coffee and then noticed my lip felt funny. I ran my tongue over the front of my teeth and felt a gap. A large one! It is sharp and can scrap my tongue.

When You Focus On Problems You’ll Have More Problems

It doesn’t hurt but it is scratchy to my tongue. Plus, the area along the gum line actually scraps the inside of my upper lip high up. When I run my tongue over my teeth it is sharp, scrapping and uncomfortable. I am missing a tooth. Still, I have all my other teeth that are fine, smooth and work perfectly well.

All my other teeth are fine. This is my point. Too often, we focus on what isn’t there. We look at what we don’t have. We notice what is missing. What is wrong. We concentrate on a problem. We examine it from all sides just as our tongue searches and explores our mouth when something is amiss. We keep at it too over and over.

When things are right we don’t nearly notice at all. We don’t pay attention or express much gratitude that we have everything is fine. Even when we have a problem or problems we focus on those and miss all the other things that are right and good. Our focus is disproportionate to what it. Yes, we have problems. We do.

When You Focus On Possibilities You’ll Have More Opportunities

But most everything else is fine. Just as there are crappy weather days most of the days are pleasant. Yes, there are atrocious acts committed by bad people but there is MORE good and right that goes unnoticed and unappreciated. I have more teeth that are perfectly fine but one that broke. Which gets more attention?

And there you have it! We have all this things that are going well and are good in our lives that we don’t pay attention too. Instead we focus on what is wrong, broken, missing our lacking. You know the sad thing about all this, don’t you. We get what we focus on. We become what we think about most.

What we think about we bring about. What we hold in our head we will someday hold in our hand. We end up creating and attracting more of the same of WHATEVER it is we focus on. That is how it works Energy flows where attention goes. Water weeds or flowers they both grow. The one that grows is the one you nourish.

What You Focus On Expands – Choose What You Focus On

We spend time watering the weeds. We get bad results because we nurture the negative. Worry is just negatively planning for your future to suck. Yet, just like our tongues that is what we probe and explore and search out and find. We wallow in crap and get covered in it. We roll in it, bath in it and then complain about it.

All our moaning and whining and complaining and blaming and excusing brings more of the same. We are putting energy into our problems and misfortune. Instead of deciding to create what we want we live as if we have no other choice. We have choices even when we don’t feel we do. We do and we ought to begin to act like it.

Focus on what you do have that works. Focus on the teeth that are there and work well. Pay attention and concentrate on that which is good, positive and working well. Let go of what isn’t working. Focus on what does work. Remember, what you focus on expands. What you think about you become. Focus on the positive things.

Focus On What You Want To Create – Set Positive Intentions

Drop the negativity and focus on the good you can be. Focus on the good you can do do and the good you have. Draw your attention to what you can be thankful for. Feel grateful! Fill yourself with positive emotions and wonderful feelings. Stop looking for what is wrong. Stop looking at what is wrong. You already noticed it.

Stop dwelling on what sucks and start dwelling on what is great. This IS how you will make your life different and better. If you want your life to change YOU HAVE TO CHANGE things in your life. Change what you put energy into. Withdraw yours. Starve the problems and feed the solutions. Learn to control your mind.

Focus on what is right! Celebrate what you already have to be thankful for. Really get into appreciating all the other stuff you normally don’t bother to notice. Notice the good. Notice it! Take inventory. Catalog it. Embrace it. Feel it! Delight in it. Do it now! Learn that your life can and will be different when you celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Stop Reliving Nightmares And Start Live Your Dreams

“Would you like more time? How about better times? Would you like to be happier and healthier? How would you like to make more money? Would you like that? Would you like to take your time back and spend it with loved ones and on leisure and fun activities?

Then there is one thing you must absolutely do. You must let go of the past. It is done and gone. It is water over the dam. The milk is already spilt. The deal is done. The loved one passed and gone. How many times have you heard, ‘you can’t bring them back’.

‘Don’t cry over spilt make.’ ‘What is done is done and you cannot change it’. For example, someone stole your car. Totaled it. You get paid. Criminal is caught and convicted. Right? It sucked. There is nothing you can do about the past. You cannot change it. Right?

The Way To Get Over The Past – Leave It Behind You

Imagine the event happened. The car stolen and totaled. The criminal is not caught and you are not paid. It didn’t change anything did it. The car being stolen is the same event. With the first one you probably feel a little better than the second  but what is different?

The only difference is what you think about it. How you feel. Different outcomes but the event is the same. You feel differently because you think something should or shouldn’t happen. Your thoughts, beliefs and expectations, your rules determine it.

Right? Am I right? The car is gone and you can’t change that. Gone forever. The convict sentenced or not and you are paid or not. You can’t change that, although maybe. You might not think the payment or the sentence fair. So what makes the events different?

You Can’t Start The Next Chapter If You Keep Re-reading The Last

Your thoughts. Bottom line what or how you think about the situation determines whether you feel it is just or unjust. Whether you get over it more easily or not. YOU determine YOUR present and future by WHAT YOU THINK about the PAST! Get it? I hope.

The pain you feel is caused by your own thinking. You may say, no it is caused but the result. You don’t like the result. Okay. Then what are you doing with the result? Are you thinking about it? How do you feel? It is your reaction to the result that determines it all. Doesn’t it?

Alright, in this post I will not tell you how to make more money BUT I will tell you that if you get your time back you have the opportunity to be happier, healthier and wealthier. Hope you are okay with this. Plenty of opportunity to discuss making money again later.

Grudges Are A Waste Of Perfect Happiness – Get Over It

People waste an enormous amount of time complaining about things they can’t change. The whine and blame and feel hurt and bad about things they can do nothing about. Still they can’t go back and change history. They’d be better off using their time in better fashion.

Don’t you think? Turn from the history you don’t like and promise to make your present and future better. Stop whining and crying over milk spilled  and learn to carry the milk better. Do whatever it takes so you are happier and healthier and wealthier than in the past.

Grieve when grieving is appropriate for as long as necessary. Mourn the loss. Celebrate a life. Eventually, move on. Two lives needn’t end because one transitioned.  The same is true regarding your major upsets and upheavals and disappointment and horrendous events.

Realize Your Past Is Just A Story – Begin To Tell A New Story

Get past them. You cannot change the historical moment but YOU can change how you think and feel about them. Yes, you may have to learn to do that, if you don’t know how, but you can learn anything, just as you learned to crawl, walk, speak, read and write if you have.

You can change your response to disappointment. Consider this. Some are very hot about these recent election results. It is true others have been hot in the past about other election results. Whatever was on election night and come what may, is what is.

How can you best spend your time? Is it feeling angry, hateful, vengeful? Is it reading one more article that the election was stolen or rigged or whatever? Some people do what to feel indignation I get that. They want to point out all that is wrong and crooked.

The Choice Is Always Yours And Yours Alone – No One Else’s

Still, it changes next to nothing if it changes anything at all. I am not saying don’t fight for change. Don’t try to do better next time. Do work to improve. Yes. Make a difference. I am not saying that. I am saying there are ways to use your time more constructively too.

Stop whining and blaming and start feeling hopeful and optimistic. Learn from the event and determine what positive things to do that may make a difference in the future. Do you understand what I am saying? You can proactively seek to make it better now and later?

Or you stay stuck in reacting to defeat and disappointment. Which gets you further along. I believe it is moving forward positively. It feels better and accomplishes more. Some only feel good when they feel bad. That is true too. Some want to suffer horrendously.

Breathe Out – Breathe In – Move – Repeat – Step By Step 

I don’t and if you don’t then learn to nip it. Decide if this is a positive use of your time. Think, Does this help me evolve positively? Does this help me be happier and healthier and wealthier? OR does it take me down into a spiral of despair? Which do you want? DECIDE!

Get it. every second is a moment you can decide. You are deciding by default if you aren’t consciously deciding. You are doing what you habitually do. You don’t get new results doing things the old way that didn’t work previously. Still some thing they will. They won’t.

How do you want to spend you time? Creating wealth or complaining about being broke? Getting healthier or complaining about your infirmities? Getting happier or focusing on negativity and what is wrong with you and the world? Well, which do you prefer?

If You Wait Until You Are Ready You’ll Wait The Rest Of Your Life

It is pretty cut and dry. You are either building a house or you are not. Get it? You are either building something positive or you aren’t. If you aren’t and you prefer to be then decide to do it and stick with your decision. Stop spending time doing what you don’t want.

Stop reacting to the woes of the world helplessly and start living positively. Stop wasting your time on things you cannot change. Stop wasting time feeling bad when you could be feeling good. Perhaps, this is why many people only live okay lives and aren’t fulfilled.

The spend more time crying over the milk spilt than drinking fresh new milk. Stop, do anything else than feel bad about things you can’t change. Take charge, take control and decide to spend your time wisely feeling wonderful, doing wonderful things and celebrate! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Why You Need To Stop Talking And Start Doing

“How many times have you heard it said, ‘Just begin! Start from where you are at.’ No matter what don’t worry about how to start or how to succeed. Give that a rest for now. Truly, just begin from where you are. Go as far as you can with what you have right now.

You will see further when you get there. Too many people get lost in words. They never start because they believe, erroneously, that to begin they must know how they will do it. YOU DON’T need to know how. How is a myth. It is a lie you have believed for way too long?

What you need is WHY. WHY is the key. Why do you want change? What for?  What motivates you?  What is your purpose?  What will it be like when you have what you want? Who will you be? What will you be doing different from now? W hat will you have that you want?

Figure Out Your Passion – It Will Lead You To Your Purpose

You don’t really need to know how or to add anything to yourself to begin making the changes you desire. You don’t need to prepare. You don’t need to learn more.  Truly! You need to be driven by a cause bigger than you, something that makes you want to move forward.

Discover the whys. Develop the whys. Find all the reasons you must pursue your dreams. The bigger the better. Have a great big end goal. Develop smaller ones you make happen along the road to the big one. List your whys. Get familiar with them. Get excited.

Then you will move forward. Then you will move forward eagerly. You can pick up all the ‘other stuff’ once you get moving.  Learn as you go. In fact, you will. It’s called ‘correct and continue’. You will make mistakes and correct them. This is called gaining experience.

Sometimes We Find Our Purpose In Tragedy And Opposition

You can and will improve along the way. You will get practice and experience. You’ll correct the missteps and adjust. You will learn what you need to do. Stay open and don’t quit. Never give up on a worthwhile purpose. Adjust and continue. Evolve and grow.

All you need to begin is to stop making excuses for why you don’t. Stop waiting and start doing. Stop waiting until you have everything or until you are finally prepared  because you won’t ever be.  Life is a process.  You are a process.  Now is the time! Jump on in!

You are enough to move forward. Stop making it cerebral and start making it real. Stop talking about doing it and do it. Stop believing your own unsupportive BS and develop new positive beliefs that support you. Live the life of your dreams. Follow your passions.

Great Minds Have Purpose – Other Minds Have Wishes

Enjoy the journey. Stay open for new opportunities. With a positive, open, optimistic mindset, you will see and discover new things you would otherwise previously have missed. The more you think and believe you can the more your neurology opens up to that.

Your own brain looks for positive matches in the outer world. Just as when you buy new clothes or a car you start noticing all the others like yours. Your brain develops a heightened awareness for good things and great possibilities for you to take advantage of. Stay open and enjoy. Be grateful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
