You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know And It Is Stopping You From Getting What You Want

“Your personal blind spot. You can’t see it. You aren’t even aware of it. You don’t know it exists. Others may, but you don’t. You don’t know what you don’t know. You can’t. You are unable to. You need to become aware of what you don’t know because it IS  limitation.

What you don’t know IS limiting you. How do you become aware of what you do not know? You rely on others who DO know what you don’t and can see that you don’t know it. These become your mentors and coaches, your teachers, guides and consultants

These become your trainers or sages. They can help you begin to see what you can’t yet. Those who are where you want to be and have started from where you started are most qualified because they have been where you are and have gone where you want to go.

Minds Are Like Parachutes They Only Work When Open

How willing are you to learn? How teachable are you? Can you stay open? For most people the three words that cause most trouble are ‘I know that.’ People stop, when they think they know something. Often, they only know about something. They are informed.

They hear a presenter speaking about something they have only read about and they think or say, ‘I know that’. Instead of staying open and listening and learning. If you really knew THAT why are you getting the lackluster results you are getting? Hmmmmmm?

If you really KNEW that you’d be applying it in a way to make your life better. To KNOW and not to DO is to not know. Information is only power when you USE IT to transform. Knowing is the ability to take inspired action not just satisfying intellectual information.

You Can’t See Your Own Face Without A Mirrored Reflection

Get it? If you think you know something how are you using it to transform your experience into something more grand? How are you assisting others in making positive changes? If you aren’t yet, you can. Stop! Let go of being right. Allow yourself to be humble.

You may need some assistance so be willing to allow the right others to guide you. Invest in yourself. You may need a book or some audio material, a mentor, a program or coaching and training.  You may not but allow yourself to be helped in moving yourself forward.

Walk the path with someone else. Let them support you. Allow it. Look, listen, learn and apply. The proper fruit of knowledge is action. The most important thing one can do is stay open, be available and use what you are learning. Make the changes you want.

Be Willing To Listen To Those People Who Have What You Want

Get feedback. Get feedback from the results you get and from others. Learn from everything. Evaluate and apply the feedback. Be careful to not just dismiss it. Awareness and understand are the two first steps to change. You don’t change unless you DO something.

That may be changing your thoughts because mindset is the first BIG piece. Get the mindset, the attitude, the thoughts right. Your feelings will follow and help you produce the right actions. Performing the right actions, consistently for long enough to become habits.

You want success habits that lead to successful results. We already have some success habits and some not success habits. We have those that support us and those which don’t. We have habits of doing and habits of not doing. If results suck you need new habits.

Listen To Those People Who Are Already Doing What You Want To

If you can’t see it, or you ‘already know that’ but you aren’t changing AND you want to, then find someone who can help you take the steps that serve you. Get you head on straight and bring your best game. It is great to have assistance from the correct sources.

Maps exist to help you reduce the amount of time it takes to get from place to place. They exist because people who already know they way shared the way. Some maps are incorrect so be sure you choose your sources wisely.  Listen to the correct sources.

If those around you say it can’t be done, and are not doing it, while there are others who are, they don’t know either. They have made up their minds against it. Be respectful, be polite, love them anyway and find those who are doing it already to guide you. Choose!

Tour Guides Exist To Point Out What You Might Otherwise Miss

Be open to the feedback from the right sources. Learn from it and apply it. Be grateful for opportunities and for those who support you. You are blessed when you discover those right mentors who care enough to be there for you. Enjoy your guides and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Second Powerful Way Of Seeing You Must Utilize And Why

Have you worked with the first way to visualize? I hope so. Get good with it, if you aren’t already. Practice, become deliberate with your imagination. Remember what you can conceive and believe you can achieve. Correct repetition, for long enough, builds skill.

Here is the second important way to visualize. These methods are not in order of importance. We do both of them naturally. When you are able to do these purposefully is when you increase your abilities to perform powerfully and productively. You develop great skill.

You can change how you think and live and what you get in life! Playing with these components strengthens your ability to deliberately use your mind in beneficial and creative ways. The more you do it the more you can do, more easily. You ability grows.

The Subconscious Only Says Yes – Make Sure It Is What You Want

The other way to imagine is to see what you see as you look through your own eyes. If you walked along a beach you wouldn’t see yourself you’d see your surroundings. You might see your hands and body some, but not your face unless you looked in a mirror.

Seeing through your own eyes allows you to feel what you would feel right NOW in that present moment. You may feel things even stronger this way because you are imaging what you see, hear and feel in your body not watching it. The feelings are immediate, now!

Either way you can have powerful feelings. When you look though your own eyes you feel it as if it is happening and how it feels. When you watch yourself on a movie screen it may feel more inspiring and motivating. Do both. Be inspired and feel what it feels like to BE it!

Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes – Focus Focus Focus

Both of these are great ways to visualize. For example, you want to buy a new house. See the house and imagine yourself in it. See yourself with family and friends. Notice everything about the house in detail. Decor, where things are. Be thorough.

Fantastic. Watch yourself enjoy dinner, party, sleep, whatever you do in the house. Be as detailed and specific as possible and enjoy the good feelings you have as you imagine this. Savor the feelings. Feelings are most important. They send this message to your brain.

Keep the feelings. Amp the feelings. If you feel inspired, motivated, happy, proud, powerful, this is good. You use the mental movie to create the feelings. Your brain gets the feelings and goes ‘Oh, Okay I get it!’ This is an extremely important concept to keep in mind.

Believe In Yourself And Your Ability To Create and Make It Happen

The other way to imagine it is to walk from room to room and see and feel what that is like from your point of  view. Look through your eyes as you did in the beach example. See the people as you would in everyday life. See their faces, hear their voices, feel their touches.

Imagine these people congratulating you on your new purchase. Feel them pat you on the back, shake your hand and hug you. Hear their voices and what they say. FEEL how good it feels to have this home and their congratulations. You did it! You got what you wanted!

Imagine waking up in bed in the new home, eating your meals. Imagine relaxing in the comfort of your home. Enjoy walking the grounds. Park your car in the driveway or garage. Live the experience of being in your new home from your point of view.

To Live In A New Reality You Must First Conceive Of That Reality

Obviously, you don’t just magically make a new house appear. There is a process of acquiring it. The first step is to know what you want and why. This give you the ooomph for all the rest. You make it extremely desirable. Your obsession. What you must have.

You imagine yourself having it. Living it. Being it! This informs your brain. Your brain works on it. You begin to get ideas, intuitions and insights. This is what it means to begin to take inspired action. You must follow through in everyday life. Your brain works for you.

Imagine scouting the house, taking the tour, buying the house, closing on the house, celebrating, moving in, celebrating some more, feeling wonderful, living in the house. Be detailed. Make it vivid. Make it real. Create the process for yourself.

Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge

Visualize both ways. Affirm it. Declare it with emotion and enthusiasm. Believe it and expect it. Conceive it and believe it! Enjoy creating your future. Feel grateful for what you have! Delight and be thankful! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

This Is Why You Don’t Always Get What You Want!

“How come it isn’t happening for me? Ever ask yourself that? I do all the right things but nothing seems to work. You have tried, quit, tried again, perhaps. You just aren’t where you had hoped you would be. Do you ever feel like this? It can suck, right? It is  no fun at all.

There are a few reasons why that can be the case. We’ll explore a main one in this post. Sometimes, it is so obvious we miss it. Sometimes, it is just so obscure we can’t find it. This post can help, but only, if you apply what you read here in these pages.

When Life Gives You Lemons Why Aren’t You Making Lemonade

Sometimes we bite off more than we can chew. We want too much too soon and don’t really believe we can do it. Keep what you ultimately want in mind but set up a smaller goal first. For example, imagine earning 100 dollars a week more, or 10 K more a year.

We continue on visualization and how to get what you want. I hope you are enjoying this series. Please ask questions or post comments if you have any. We continue into the next post too. So enjoy learning, or reviewing and please apply what you learn and know.

Start smaller and build up. Just as you climb a ladder one rung at at time. Make the first rung of your ladder easy to obtain. Not too easy, it should stretch you but don’t make it so large it seems at possible. Win a few times first and then you’ll have the confidence to go big.

What You Can Conceive And Believe You Can Achieve

Get it? It is mindset first. Get your attitude on and then take inspired action. So see it, hear it, feel it. Imagine it. Conceive it.  Make it real in your mind. As Napoleon Hill stated, ‘Whatever you can conceive and bring yourself to believe, you can achieve.’ It works.

Do it over and over, correctly, for long enough and you create a burning desire for it. You come to believe you can do it. Once you believe it you know you will do it. You become unstoppable and persist until you get the results you want. You transform your life.

From within to without. You make the imagined real. It isn’t magic it is brain science and it has been with us forever. From early on in human development wise people learned to capture and utilize and steer the power of the mind. You can too! You only need to do it!

You Eat An Elephant One Bite At A Time

Even though this has been available for centuries few know it. Far fewer use it. Some, even want to prevent you from using it to get ahead, but now you can. The proper fruit of knowledge is action. To not use what you know is to not know. It is not responsible. Do it!

In my workshops and seminars I help guide you in learning how to do this, plus a whole lot more, so you can make your dreams come true. It is a great experience for participant attendees and you can do this on your own to. Take the time to learn to do it today!

Do it! Take action and the world becomes your oyster. Practice and keep the faith. Keep it light. Have fun. Enjoy the process. It isn’t an overnight miracle. It takes time to get the results. The miracle that does instantly occur is everything changes the instant you start.

Action Is The Proper Fruit Of Knowledge – Apply What You Know

Once you decide and follow through on your decision you initiate the process. It begins. Just as it takes time for a tree to grow the seed you planted for your future good can take time to manifest, but your life begins to change right away! It is a great trade.

You begin and everything changes. So live with gratitude and appreciation. Be thankful you got on the path. Visualize, affirm, ask positive questions, fill your mind with positive power and know that you are making your life they way you want it to be. You took action.

You made a decision to bring about good things in your life. Be happy. Be persistent. Never lose sight of the good you started. Help others do the same. We benefit when we benefit others. Read and listen to inspiring material. Hang with positive creators. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

If You Don’t Do These Few Important Things You Won’t Get What You

“The principles I have mentioned numerous times in my blog posts are these. What you see is what you get. What you say is what you get. What you feel is what you get. What and who you are is what you get more of. You get what you focus on. It expands. It is yours.

We continue exploring deliberate creation and making your dreams come true in this and upcoming blog posts. Visualizing and affirming your intentions are powerful tools to develop the mindset and inform your subconscious what you want.  From within to without!

You create inside and translate it to the outside through the strong, intense desire to make it happen and by the faith and conviction that you can and will do it. You bring it about through inspired action. You create, make happen and attract the results you want. YOU do it!

Imagine A Bright Future – In Your Mind Now – And It Can Be Yours

First, you make the invisible powerfully visible in your mind. You send strong, intense feelings of this future good you desire to your subconscious by repeated, consistent visualizing. You want your mind movies to really create strong feelings in you. Feelings!

Feelings are the delivery vehicle to your subconscious. Feelings deliver the images. Feelings inform your subconscious ‘I want to create this. Now do it!’ The important key is always put it in present tense. ‘I am this! I have this right now! I am grateful for _________.’

That message and those feelings get the subconscious mind acting on your behalf. Otherwise, it does whatever it’s been doing. You deliberately program your subconscious to create what you want by the strong emotional feeling messages you intentionally send it.

Declare What You Want – Feel As Though You Already Have It

NOW is the only time! The subconscious mind is eternally present. It only knows right now. That is why you put whatever you want in the future into present tense. You have it now! You are it now! It IS your present reality. Not someday, somewhere, but here and now. Get it?

Some day never comes. Now is Now. It will take a while for you to manifest it, but if you do this, and expect it, you can make it happen. Visualization gets the mindset right. Affirmations and Directed Questions™ gets the mindset right. It is right mindset and action!

Affirm and visualize, ‘I am _________’. ‘I have________’.  I am positive. I feel incredible. I have a million dollars. I enjoy being rich. I am a good person. I am a great learner. I am unstoppable. I have a wonderful life. I am loving. I am successful. I have lot’s of energy. I am dynamic.

Act As If You Have It Right Now – It Is Yours – Be Grateful For It

Say it like you mean it. Shout it! Be enthusiastic. Enjoy it. Affirm it! Declare it! Assert it with confidence. When you visualize and affirm it should feel great. If it doesn’t check what you are thinking. Make the changes. If it doesn’t feel right adjust it until it does.

Feelings inform the unconscious and feelings inform you. If everything isn’t exactly lined up you will get a signal. Something will feel off or less than glorious. If you feel bad examine and change the thoughts you were and are thinking. It is your alert or alarm system.

Feelings occur to help us pay attention. If you don’t believe your visualization or affirmations you feelings let you know. If you bit off more than you presently are able to believe is possible you may feel doubtful or less than glorious. Feelings signal you so you can change.

Live Your Future Reality – On The Inside – Now – In Your Present

The goal is to feel good. If you don’t adjust your thoughts until you do. Feel your best, feel excited and enthused while you visualize and affirm. Adjust until you do. When you are in the sweet spot, and are congruent with your thoughts and desires, you feel it. It feels right!

It feels good. When you are feeling good you are thinking good. This is a powerful reason to practice gratefulness. See and affirm what you are happy about. Delight in what you appreciate. Do it as often as you can. Live it. Feel it, BE it. It adds great fuel to your fire! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The First Powerful Way Of Seeing You Must Utilize And Why

“Do you spend time purposefully visualizing ? If not, it is a practice you will want to embrace. It is so important that you do. Deliberately imagining what you want and how you want it sets your creative mind working  to get it. It opens up your imagination and abilities.

Are you enjoying these posts? I  hope you are. If you have questions please ask them in the comments. If this is your first time visiting and reading, please go back at least a few posts and read from there. We’ll continue on this topic for awhile and return to it frequently.

There a couple ways to imagine things. One is to see yourself in the image as if you were watching yourself in a movie or video. This is a great way to see how you look, move, sound and interact with others. You see yourself where you want to be and with whom.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

You can be artistic and add vivid color. You can make the size of your mental movie screen larger, much, much bigger, as when you are in a movie theater. You can put it in surround sound or add music. Anything you can do with a TV you can do inside your mind theater.

You can enhance the image and boost your good feelings. You can improve on this movie in your mind so it is even more appealing and makes the feelings stronger. In Neuro Linguistic Programming we call the components you can adjust Submodalities. For example:

Visual: size, shape, color or black and white, hue, tint, light, shadow, location, near or far away and more. Sound: volume, location, timber, tone, pitch, rate (fast or slow) and more. Feelings: touch, rough, smooth, heavy, soft, pressure, a tickle, location in body, and more.

What You Feel Is What You Get – Feelings Are Important

You can vary any and all of these and make any mental experience less intense or more intense. Taste and smells can be important too. Add in anything that makes it more wonderful.  Construct it so it is appealing, inspiring, and motivating for you. Make it incredible!

Make your dreams and goals more desirable, intense and immediate. Movie directors and symphony conductors play with these components.  They utilize them to create feelings in the viewer, or listener; the experiencer. You can too. You don’t have to but you can.

Sports coaches direct players to perform in certain ways.  Be your own coach, your own conductor and director.  Deliberately make the adjustments. Watch your mind movie. Do you like it better? Does it feel stronger? If yes, cool. If not, change it until you do. Get it?

Imagine A Bright Future – In Your Mind Now – And It Can Be Yours

More coming in next post. Take charge. Assume control. Tailor it for the greatest return. Make it wonderful. As you progress you may continue to improve on it. It is your movie make it most appealing. You can always change it back. Just DO IT!

Make it outstanding, lock it in, and visualize it daily! Bless, nurture and encourage yourself as you engage daily. Stick with it through rough spots or times when nothing seems to be improving or happening. You’ll breakthrough as long as you persist. You will!

Delight all along the way. Enjoy it and be grateful. Have fun, practice in the spirit of play. As it has been said, ‘ You can pretend anything and master it.’ Allow yourself to easily grow. Your skills develop faster and you go further when you celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Secrets To Seeing What You Want And Getting It

“Successful people, through the ages, have always been ones with vision. They have been those who used their imaginations and their ability to visualize themselves as successful prior to reaching the successes they desired in everyday life.  They utilized their minds.

From ancient writings to more modern research the value of visualization and affirmation have been extolled. If you aren’t using these critical tools in your daily life now is the time to begin! Plant the seeds today that can grow into great results in your future.

In this blog post and a few subsequent ones I’ll share more on the power of visualization and some tips for using it to help you make your dreams come true. Remember, you can if you think you can.  Visualization IS the way for coming to believe it is possible!

You Get What You Repeatedly Practice – Practice Is Rehearsal

When you visualize and affirm you are rehearsing and practicing. All coaches and athletes, artists and others know the value of repeated correct practice on performance. Actors rehearse for weeks to open a play. Musicians practice. You get what you practice.

Fewer people seem to realize the incredible benefit of mental rehearsal on performance and the results they get in their everyday lives. ‘To enjoy enduring success on must travel in advance of the world’. Create it in your mind and then the rest catches up.

Sadly, most people rehearse, practice and re-live their failures and disappointments, their worries and their fears. They program themselves for lackluster results again and again. Stop that if you do that. Learn to program yourself for success and do what works.

What You Say Is What You Get – Your Words Are Important

It works either way. Either you program for success or failure. If you do nothing your brain runs on default. If that default setting isn’t getting you what you want then YOU must change it. The great news is YOU can! Take control. Visualize and declare your success now!

How To Change Or Eliminate Prior Past Conditioning So You Can Get What You Want

“What your life is like today is the result of prior past conditioning and decisions. You learned and co-opted beliefs and values from others while growing up. You came to some of your own conclusions, based on those you co-opted, from experiences you had.

You believe you are a free agent and independent thinker. To some extent that is accurate. Another way to consider this is that your mental mindset was formed before you had choices about it. You got it from others, it is habitual and it runs the show.

Your reactions are wired in. You are preprogrammed, it works reliable and it makes you predictable. We all are. This is both marvelous and not so marvelous. On the marvelous side it means we are able to learn and learned while very young and very well.

Your Past Never Defines Your Future If You Don’t Allow It

It operates without much conscious thought so it is reliable and consistent. We don’t have to relearn things over and over again. It works well for us. We are resourceful in many ways. We are conditioned and able to function perfectly.

The down side is much of what we learned is outdated. It served us better at one time than now. It is mostly other people’s opinions of life and of ourself that we live from, rather than our own. It can run counter to our own conscious desires and goals.

At the same time it may be why we have certain desires and goals and not others. We are a mix of really wonderful incredible processes and abilities and some not so great software, to use an analogy. If we have some faulty software we get faulty results.

Your Future Is Programmed By Your Thoughts Not Your Past

If your life is crap it is because you ALREADY, outside of you own awareness, decided it is crap. The decision was made for you, by you, out of the old chronic conditioning. Your very own habits determine how you would react to things.  Do you understand this?

Your prior programming is both a blessing, it truly is, and a limitation, it truly is. It is absolutely both. Many good and wonderful things have come about because of who and what you are. Some limitations present themselves too. Don’t succumb to blaming self or others.

You are both wonderfully resourceful and limited. Accept yourself and love yourself for who you are. Your past condition is not unchangeable. Some of your past is excellent too. Remember that. You can keep the good while ridding yourself of limitations.

Let Go Of The Limitations Of The Past And Keep The Good Past

Since these programs, this conditioning runs on and on, consistently and reliably, if you want to change things YOU have to do it now. Others programmed you in the past but now only YOU can change that programming. This next piece is important to understand.

You react before you have any awareness of what is happening. That is how the brain works. It learns to do things and then it does them automatically. Something internal or external triggers a programs and away it goes. It runs on and on, often, before you even know it.

Until or unless something happens to alter it or stop it, it does what it learned to do.  Habits are wired in. There are good habits and good programs that run a lot of your life. There are other habits many might label less than glorious. We are a mix of many things.

The Best Way To Predict Your Future Is To Create It

For example, getting very mad because traffic is ‘bad’. You don’t have to. Some people don’t, but, you do because that is what you’ve always done. Somewhere at sometime you reacted that way enough until it became a reliable neural highway! It became habit.

You could have learned it from parents. If a particular role model always yelled and screamed at traffic, it is reasonable that you might. It isn’t written in stone that you would, but there is a good chance you learned to do similar things. Experience and modeling shapes us.

Chemicals squirt and electric impulses fire off in a particular sequence and voila’ ROAD RAGE! It is reliable. It is automatic. It happens so fast. It happens nearly every time. You live with road stress. You’d prefer not to but you haven’t changed it, yet.

Everything Is A Blessing – A Learning – An Opportunity 

Imagine this occurs day and night, to work and back. That is NO way to spend your time. It is no way to spend your time in a car. Some people are worse, but many others are far better. They aren’t bothered at all about traffic. For others it may be a mild nuisance.

The only way to change it IS to change it. You have to get inside and make a new decision before the old one fires off.  BUT how on earth can you do that? How do you extinguish the chronic behavior? You have to teach the brain ‘Not That’ but ‘This’ instead.

You have to train your brain to NOT DO THAT but to do this other thing instead. You have to shift from rage to relaxed. HOW? Awareness is the key. You can’t get inside before the trigger results in a flood of electro-chemical activity.

You Have A Rare And Unprecedented Opportunity Before You

You must catch it shortly afterwards. The sooner the better. SO you must become sensitized to what sets it off. You must know the trigger. You must know the trigger point. You do this by deciding to change it. That is the first step. You make a decision.

You catch yourself after it happens and re-direct it. This is one way to approach changing it. The other is to pre-program what you want. Imagine it, visualize it, the way you want it to go instead. I’ll discuss this aspect in another blog post soon. Stay tuned.

One thing you can’t do successfully is think ‘I won’t get angry’ or I will not get angry.’ What is the key word in that sentence? Angry, right. SO if all the rest of the sentence weren’t there what are you left with? Angry. If you take away, ‘won’t’ and ‘not’, what have you?

Start Your Day With A Smile – Enjoy Every Moment Of Your Life

You are left with the thought ‘I will get angry’. The mind doesn’t accept negatives. It works only on positives. Similar to computers that function by code the brain has its own way of doing things. It says yes to everything. It ignores and doesn’t process, the ‘no’.

If you say, ‘I won’t overeat’ you are communicating ‘I’ll overeat’. If you say, ‘I do not want to be poor’ you are saying ‘I want to be poor’. Your subconscious responds to your thoughts AS commands. It does what you are telling it not to do, over and over again, habitually.

To begin to change you must change your thoughts and language by rote repetition and will. You must specify and say what you want. If you say, ‘I will only eat healthy’ does you brain know what you intend? It is better to specify. ‘I will eat green leafy vegetables.’

You Can Change Your Life – What We Think We Become

You can soften it a bit, at first, by saying, ‘I will learn to enjoy eating green leafy vegetables’ or ‘I will eat green leafy vegetables and like it.’ If you say ‘I want more money’. How much is more? 50 cents, a dollar or two is more money. Will that satisfy? Specify the amount.

Say, ‘I will make an extra 50 dollars a week.’ Or whatever amount you actually believe you can make. If you said a million, while it may be possible, it certainly is, if you don’t believe you can do it right now, start with a smaller amount you do believe and work your way up.

Then you get things working together for you. It’s important to believe your new declarations. If you say, ‘I will exercise everyday’ and you don’t believe it, chose a number of times you know you will and start with that. Then gradually add to it. Work up to it.

Believe You Can – Believe You Can – Believe You Can – Believe

Success breeds confidence and confidence breeds success. The more you successfully take small steps toward a positive outcome the more likely you will succeed. You will build your wins and as a result win more often. Drop by drop the tub gets filled.

It begins with awareness. The first awareness is that you want to make a change. Specify and clarify what you want in positive terms. Say, ‘I will behave in loving ways towards my children when they…’ rather than ‘I won’t get mad or upset when they…’

Know what you want. Specify it. Use positive phrasing for the declaration. You subconscious doesn’t care what you choose so you must. If you say, ‘I am stupid’ you subconscious mind says, ‘YUP’. If you say ‘I am smart’ your subconscious mind says ‘YUP’.

This Is Your Life Shape It – Take Charge Of It – Or Someone Else Will

Either way it will find examples from your past and your circumstances that demonstrate precisely what you said you were, stupid or smart. So learn to clean up your language. Whenever you utter something that leads to a bad conclusion you can change it.

The instant you hear yourself utter a less than glorious phrase, think or say, ‘Cancel’. or ‘Cancel that’ and change it to a positive phrase. You can think or say to others if you slip, ‘That is what I used to say in my past’ or some variation of that.

Put any behavior you don’t want into your past. That is something you used to do, but ‘thank goodness, I do ________ (insert positive behavior or thought) instead’. Become aware when you make assertions or declare how things are, when you don’t want them.

The Smallest Things You Do Can Lead To The  Biggest Changes

Assert and declare what you want even if you don’t have it yet. You will eventually because you focus your mind on what you want to go after instead of what you don’t want. It will go after either without care, so you must determine which is goes after the most. Get it?

Clean up your language. Place less than glorious behaviors and thoughts into the past. Frame it in your mind as something you used to do but thankfully you are wiser now and you think and do better things. Stop reinforcing what you do not want. Is this clear?

Reinforce ONLY what you do want. Whenever you think ‘I don’t want that’ STOP and switch the thought and the utterance to what it is you do want. Clarify what you want and affirm that. ‘I want this’! This is how you begin to train you brain and mind to work for you.

Age Is Of No Importance Unless You’re A Cheese Or A Wine

You train it to work for you to do what you want it to, instead of what it learned to do while you were very young and not in charge of it. NOW you take charge. Whenever you ask yourself a less than glorious question you change the thought and the language too.

When you catch yourself asking things like, ‘Why do things always suck for me?’ or ‘why am I unlucky?’ STOP and ask yourself a positively phrased question instead. Cancel the first and ask ‘Why I am I so blessed that good always happens for me?’ or ‘How come I am so lucky?’ Phrase it in the positive for yourself and ask away!

To change you must change what you are doing and do something you rarely did or never did before. You must clean up your thoughts and those things you say to yourself. A useful exercise would be to write out the limiting statements and questions you make .

I Am A Product Of My Decisions Not My Circumstances

Then write out their opposite positive statement or question. Take your ‘will nots’ and make them ‘I wills.’ Create a  list for yourself of the ones you know you do. The others, you aren’t aware of, you will catch as you make progress. You can absolutely change this!

You can end what holds you back and begin living in a new, positive, delightful way. Remember, every declaration you make about you, others, your circumstances, anything that follows the words ‘am’ ‘have’ ‘is’ or ‘are’, are affirmations, whether positive or not.

Stop negatively affirming and your life will improve. You get what you focus on. Stop putting energy and attention on the less than glorious and put it onto the positive and glorious. Focus on the good right now in you, others and your circumstances and your future.

If You Want Success Start Thinking Of Yourself As A Success

You will make the invisible good that you desire, the good you don’t yet have, visible and you’ll come to own it as you focus on creating it for yourself. Be proactive! Make these changes and you will bring about incredible opportunities and blessings.

What You Can Conceive and Believe You Can Achieve

“Anything humans have made first existed as an idea. It began as a vision which was then translated into reality. This is true whether the item is a chair, a freeway, or a political system. It begins in the imagination. Then it becomes physical reality.

Whatever you visualize repeatedly you bring to pass. What you see is what you get! What you say, the stories you repeat to yourself and others, is what you get. You are always actively manufacturing your reality and results in your life, wanted or unwanted.

Intended or not. People fear the worst. They imagine it, see it in their mind’s eye, and then it shows up. Not instantly, like magic, but eventually. We are creators. What we focus on we get. We must learn to switch our predominant focus to what we want and intend.

Life Isn’t Happening To You –  Life Is Responding To You 

Our difficulty manifesting stems from conflict. Whenever we decide we want something, that instant, part of us responds with doubt, fears, or worry. We don’t believe we can get it, or deserve it, or are good enough. We think others might but not us. Something wrong!

We run interference on ourselves. We imagine the lack, instead of what we want. We are a house divided instead of one united. So it takes much longer while we create not having it. Understand this? In order to get it we must focus on actually having it or being it.

If it is a car we must be a proud new car owner and feel like we have it. If it is riches, or confidence, or success we must feel we are rich, successful and confident prior to actually being any of those things. By imagining we are it we become it. When we become it we get it.

You Are The Creator – Your Thoughts Create Your Life

What we hold in our head we someday can hold in our hand. What we focus on we get. What we think about most we become. We must be congruent and believe we are entitled to it and feel one with it. I know, some readers ask how do we do it? By repeatedly doing it.

We need to stick with it. Repeat it, correctly, consistently for long enough and we will get it. We will come to believe it. We will end up having the faith and the feelings by doing it. It is a 95% mental game and a 5% strategy, know how to do it, game. Why rules over how.

The mind is the key to unlocking the door to everything you want. Why you want it, how you feel about it and think about it. Feel as if you already have it, enjoy it. Live as if! This is where we put most of our thoughts and efforts. Still, we must DO it 95% most of the time.

Life Is Your Call – Make It Wonderful – Live Delightfully

You can’t think about it once and then let doubt rule. You must walk your talk. Stay with it. Keep the dream alive in your heart. Most people will work really hard to try to get it, over work, trying figure it out. They will try this and try that but not rule their own mind.

The mind runs the show. Know how is fine once the mental game is on right. If the head isn’t on straight the  rest won’t matter much.  In my last post I mentioned visualizing your dreams and goals. I discussed  making great things happen through mental rehearsal.

What do you want? Build on your success. Keep moving forward and keep enjoying more of life. Focus on it and stay engaged with it. Delight in your mental rehearsal. Keep in mind you are creating. Oh, by the way, creation can be a messy process.

What Is Meant To Be Always Finds A Way – It Will Show Up

It never works the way we think it should. It can be tumultuous during the process. From chaos stars are born. So don’t dissuade yourself if things don’t seem to be happening. Don’t get bent out of shape and give up if some turmoil or difficulty arises. It is creation!

It rarely if ever happens according to plan. We imagine it. It happens but usually the end result, the culmination in our success, comes as a surprise. Almost as if it were an afterthought. That is why, sages suggest we think, ‘this or something better’ when creating.

We imagine it specifically but we let go of how it will show up. We expect it to come but we give up managing how and when and by what conditions.  Ask and we receive. Knock and wait. Expect and let go. Put in the order and remain eagerly certain it will show up.

You Don’t Play Golf To Relax – You Relax To Play Golf

It is on the way. When and how is not our concern. At least it shouldn’t be. That is where we get into comparing and fearing and worrying it isn’t coming, or it isn’t working, and we divide the house all over again. Instead of being focused on what we wan, we aren’t.

We dig a hole, fill it up, then dig it again, then scatter the dirt, then fill it up, while digging another hole and scattering the dirt and it goes on and on. We must stop, focus, get congruent in our thoughts and feelings. Live in alignment. That is why gratitude can be so powerful.

Remember, stop and smell the roses each time your pursue your goals and dreams. Remember to include thinking about and feeling grateful for all the blessings in your life. Live with appreciation moment to moment and you live well. Feel good about having it.

To  Perform As A Winner – You Must See Yourself A Winner

Feel grateful prior to it showing up. Live with appreciation and you won’t be concerned with micromanaging your creation. You’ll be too busy enjoying life. If you want it and don’t care how or when, but you are eager for it in an ‘oh boy’ delighted way,’ that works.

Then 95% of the time you are loving life, feeling positive and grateful and certain it will come. The mindset is ‘good things always come to me. Things always work out’. Feel blessed. Feel enthused, feel thrilled. Love every second of it! This is how to change your life.

It is simple to get things done. Far simpler and easier that most people think. It is surprisingly simple, even at it’s toughest, when you put your mind to work in positive ways. With the right attitude anything is possible! Believe you can and you can! Understand?

There Are Plenty Of Obstacles In Your Path Don’t Be One Of Them

Enjoy your mental rehearsal. Spend time imagining how wonderful everything ALL is. Enrich the mental experience by adding detail whenever you can. Enrich the sights, the sounds, the feelings. Perhaps, you notice smells or even tastes. Make it as real as possible.

Make it vivid and to your liking. After all, it is your movie in your head. Tailor it so that as you view it you feel supercharged and excited about it. It doesn’t have to be ‘rah rah’ cheerleader pumped, but it could be. Make it wonderful for yourself! Delight in it.

When you do this you are putting your order in to the universe. You are informing your subconscious mind that THIS is what I want. You are clarifying and amplifying. Feelings are the most important. So you build it with sights and sounds to really feel it. Get it?

It Is True – Thankful People Are Happy People

Journaling can help you too. Write out in detail what you want to occur. When you write it down you visualize. It is a good practice. Journaling, in this manner, a bit each day is a great habit to develop. Visualize each day too. Get good at it. Really feel it. AND let it go!

Stay with the dream but let it arrive however and whenever it does. Have fun along the way. Remember the aphorism, ‘it is not the destination but how you travel along the way’. Enjoy traveling. Have fun by yourself and with others.  It will happen. Keep the faith. Meanwhile, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Never Let Circumstances Bring You Down – Learn To Live Triumphantly

“Have you ever been on a roll and then excrement hits the fan? What’s up with that? Have you wondered, ‘WTF?’ You are riding high and then something comes along and levels the field or worse. It might suck, right? What if it didn’t have to? What would that be like?

Yesterday was a very different day from Monday’s blissful day. Some might say, the day presented some challenges. Certainly, there were numerous situations. For the purposes of illustration I’ll call them challenges. Still, the days WAS blissful and wonderful. One example.

Everywhere I drove during rush hour was jammed up. Each road I took, for the span over an hour, was a dead end, no outlet road, and detours to nowhere. It was amazing. I never before experienced anything quite like this. It was a twilight zone like.

Words Are Seeds – Be Careful What You Plant

I drove around trying to get out of a certain section that bounded a freeway and had construction, road and building, all around. After driving and trying each turn only to find it ultimately blocked I found one back road open! Hooray! Except it was closed by an accident!

There was no getting around it. I backed up, tried going back the way I came, to look for other avenues of escape. Finally, I found a way out. Once I got out I turned onto a major road which went up and over a bridge. As I got onto the bridge all traffic stopped. I was stuck.

I couldn’t go forward or turn back around. A truck broke down on the bridge shutting it down to one lane. Traffic was slowly merging right to go around. It was a good long while. I had never seen the traffic this congested, in this area, as far back as I can remember.

All That We Are Is The Result Of Our Thoughts

It was a different sort of busy driving day. After about an hour I managed to drive on into much more heavier bumper to bumper traffic. In my teen years in L A I’d have had road rage to the max. It was pretty tempting yesterday to let go and get angry about it.

Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to realize getting upset wouldn’t have changed the situations. I’d be stuck in traffic and mad, instead of stuck in traffic. Plus, as I have often pointed out, traffic is a fantastic place to learn to surrender and let go. So walk the talk, Rex.

I relax, and let go. I decided to assume I had created all this JUST especially for me. This is my mental construct, my fantasy. I wanted to discover, IF I had engineered this, or god or universe or whatever, why, what lesson might I take from it? Multiple lessons o’plenty!

Change Your Thinking And You Change Your Life

I examined and reflected. I gleaned insights for myself that I think are useful. Most importantly, the trite aphorism comes to mind, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. How do you make the best of a bad situation? If you label it bad to begin with, it’s tougher.

It is better not to label it anything at all. Don’t call it a problem or a challenge or an obstacle. It just is. Why start one down? It is what it is. The less we label the better off we are sometimes. Perhaps, we call it a situation or an opportunity. Yes, call it an opportunity.

Some think I must be mad. An opportunity! I can almost here them exclaim it. What are you outta your mind? Yes, I absolutely hope so. I hope I am out of the conditioning that says, if you have a hammer you treat everything as a nail. Problems do not make you feel good.

Thoughts Create Your Reality – Choose Your Thoughts Wisely

Opportunity may make you feel good. So it is an opportunity to relax, let go, enjoy sitting still, reflect, people watch, take a breather, learn from the situation. It IS whatever you decide it is. You determine whether it is good or bad. It is ALWAYS  YOUR choice.

Whether others agree isn’t the point. You can find plenty for whom misery loves company. You can band together and complain long and hard and it won’t change anything except your emotional state for the worse. Fewer will choose to look at it as a blessing. Yet, it is.

IF YOU decide it is. Everything IS as it is. You decide whether it is a blessing or not. As for me, I prefer that there are more blessings and opportunities than problems and obstacles. I want my blessing ration high so I declare more things blessings than otherwise.

Once You Become Aware Of How Powerful Your Thoughts Are …

You want to learn mental control? You want to be more resourceful?You want to live a better life? THEN live blessed and filled with gratitude! Enjoy everything. I point this out, this happening yesterday for a reason.  Some think, well it’s easy if your life is easy.

Some think, positive thinking is wearing rose tinted glasses. Some think, easy for you to say if you don’t have any challenges or face everyday constraints like the rest of us. I do, you do, we all do. Few lived charmed lives and aren’t touch by hurt or despair. Few, maybe.

Most everyone has to live with the day to day situations. Ups and downs, highs and lows, goods and bads. Most people have grown up learning to complain about circumstances and to long or wish for other circumstances. There are preferences and habits.

… You’ll Realize Everything In Your Life Is How You Allow It To Be

Habit has most people whining and complaining, excusing and blaming. Stop living your life dictated by circumstances. Instead dictate how you respond to the circumstances. Be larger than the problems. Call them anything but problems. Call them opportunities.

Practice this correctly long enough and you can get pretty good at it. Get good at letting go, living well and enjoying all events and circumstances as much as possible. Then as speed bumps occur you can find yourself at ease instead of getting bent out of shape.

You change habits with awareness and understanding. You change habits through correct repetition. You change habits by willpower and persistence. You change  by being committed to changing no matter what. As you change, what is difficult at first, becomes easier.

You Create Your Own Reality For Goodness Sake Have Good Taste

Awareness is the key. Whenever you realize you are thinking or feeling less than glorious make a purposeful, deliberate move to shift from the not glorious to the more glorious. Shift from negative to positive. Deliberately, with intention, as often as necessary.

Sometimes, you just have to do it a lot, over and over again. Other times it is easier. Just as with my two blog posts, sometimes it is wonderful sometime’s it ain’t. HOWEVER, it will always be whatever you make it. It will always be whatever you declare it to be.

You either affirm it as a problem or affirm it as a blessing. The choice is yours. The decision is yours. Learn to make new decisions and consider more and more in your life blessings and you will create, attract and re-frame more things as blessings.

What You Think Is What You Get – What You Say Is What You Get

You and your life will become richer and more blessed. The trade off is marvelous. It is! It can be beyond glorious. You only find out, however, by putting these principles into action. To know and not do is to not know. You life becomes glorious WHEN you take action!

Enjoy and delight more. Get hooked into trauma drama and crap less, regardless of what is occurring. Refuse to name things as problems but look at them as opportunities to discover cool things and they will be. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings! It is never done.

What you SAY is what YOU GET! Say what you want it to be and it will be that! YOU ARE THE AUTHORITY – you are responsible. No one else is. Make your life the life you want! Delight in everything. Enjoy everything. Feel blessed more often and you will be. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Another Reason Why You Are Suffering And How To Stop

“Some people, maybe most all people, worry about the future. We have been trained and conditioned to try to solve future happenings. We think if we think it through enough maybe it will change. Some people can’t seem to stop thinking about it. They worry and fear.

Others drag the past around with them endlessly sifting through painful past moments. They have yet to let go. These people are weighted down by past experiences and spend much of their time reliving the hurt and disappointment. They regret so much.

Fewer live right now. It’s true most aren’t encouraged to do this. The present seems to always be sacrificed for some other moment. The difference with the present, from the past and the future, is the present is all we have. How we spend it IS how we live.

Do Not Look Back In Anger – Do Not Look Forward In Fear 

We can be present right now, in the here and now, or we can be sort of here now thinking about and feeling about other times. We have learned to rob ourselves of the pleasure of now. Right now there is no pain from the past and there is no anxiety about the future.

Those feelings are for other times. Right now, focused on right now, is all there is. Be right where you are. This moment. You can be happy right now. Mentally be where you are. It is perfect. The future has a not arrived, the past is over, there is nothing to worry about.

There is nothing to regret. Be here now. This moment is perfect. This moment you can be happy. This moment you can feel bliss. Gurus and sages have told you through the ages that now is when ALL IS available. That, this moment is perfect as it is.

Be Here Now In Awareness – Be Present

True, we have habits of thought, feeling and behavior. Shifting our focus from what we chronically do may not be the easiest thing to do but it is simple to do. The gurus say simply be here now. DROP the past and present. Bring your awareness to this moment.

What is going on right now? Can you feel the wind? What is the sensation? What are the smells? The sounds you hear? What are you seeing? Bring your attention to this moment and pay attention to whatever is going on. THIS we can learn to do. Shift our attention.

We must shift from the other times to pay attention to this time! Notice your breathing? Notice how the activity you are engaged in feels. If you are eating notice the flavor of your food as you chew. Put your attention on right this moment. Let go of all else.

The First Step To Changing Your Life Is Awareness

It is similar to how you learn to be a positive person. You shift your attention from the less than glorious to the glorious. You focus on what you have to be grateful for. You can shift to what is wonderful and you can be grateful for right now. YOU can do THIS! You can!

If you’re focused on right this instant you won’t be worrying about what’s coming.  You’re not concerned with what was.  Here and now is what your focus is on now. Some people will bother to concern themselves with thinking, how will they do anything in the future.

It will take care of it self.  Believe that, trust that for now. Don’t rob yourself of another moment with an excuse or a reason to put off what is good for you. You will encounter many thought red herrings that will take your attention away. Shift it back gently. Do it now.

The Mind Has Skill – Functionality – It Is A Robot – You Must Run It

Stay present. Begin the day, end the day focused on now. Whenever you can through the day draw your attention to now. It develops in increments. It develops in practice. It is done habitually as all else is. Learn to live now. Learn to focus and enjoy now. Learn to let go.

When the moment arrives to plan, you will plan in the here and now about the future without feeling anxiety about something that hasn’t happened yet. You do not know what will happen. You can’t see it yet. Enjoy the journey, notice where you are and step forward.

If it is around the bend you aren’t able to see around the bend so focus on where you are at.  The point of this discussion is, YOU always live from your conditioning. So to change you must change what you are conditioned to do. Stop feeling bad. Start feeling good.

Life Should Not Be Lived – Life Should Be Celebrated

To have change you must be change. You must do it. You must cease some things and initiate other things. The question of what you want for yourself will determine what you decide to do or not. It isn’t easy to learn to shift your focus but it isn’t easy to live in pain either.

It may be more comfortable to live in pain than to change it. That is because it is habit. If you change it one day living free from pain will be habit and comfortable too. It is your choice. Your decision right now determines what you have now and later. The power of choice!

If you put it off you put it off. You can begin this moment to live with greater awareness. You can begin to live life meditatively, more joyfully. You can ease your burdens and your worries and begin to find your bliss.  The power is In your decision.

Here And Now – That Is All There Is – Celebrate – Be Here Now

Work, whine and worry, fear, fret and despair OR live, love and laugh. Your choice. What you do next is completely up to you. My suggestion, if you struggle with this concept and practice, is do the least you can. Make one percent change your goal.

One percent, done correctly, repeatedly, consistently for enough time will result in  great change. It will result in incredible change! Do that, but don’t do nothing. Invest in yourself. Bring your attention to now. Deliberately delight. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
