If Your Want To Succeed And Be Happy You Must Learn How To Direct Your Mind

“If you haven’t yet mastered the art of affirmations this post is important for you to read. Some people can’t make them work because they just can’t seem to find an affirmation they are willing to believe and use. Remember, finding the sweet spot is critical.

To get good or great results with affirmations you need to emotionalize them and believe them. Remember, you want to make declarative statements you believe are possible and that you can and will make happen. If you feel bad or don’t believe it takes longer.

The sweet spot is affirming some goal or desired outcome that is big enough to provide a stretch but not so big you don’t believe it possible. You can always work up to the big, big, one, one step at the time. Anything is possible if you believe it is. It all works. it does!

If You Think You Can Or You Think Your Can’t You Are Right

You just have to know how to make it work and work it. Some people never figure it out and give up. Your big goal is at the top of the ladder. You don’t believe it is possible currently. So you make minor goals, like rungs on a ladder, that help you get there step by step.

If you still can’t figure that out the there are alternatives.  MyDirected Questions™ is powerful and fabulous whether or not you use affirmations. Questions direct what the brain pays attention to. You use wonder, curiosity of fascination to affirm what you want.

You begin to wonder how soon, at some point, you will find yourself delighted, to make 100 million dollars, and how incredible it will feel to make awesome discoveries along the way. You inch your way to it by getting really curious. You ask open ended questions.

Whatever You Can Conceive And Believe You Can Achieve

You don’t draw a line in the sand and say ‘I am this’ instead you consider how quickly and easily you can begin to find yourself delighting in doing those things that get you closer to making 100 million. You ask how soon you can find yourself feeling this?

‘How incredible can I feel as I begin the process of finding new ways to bring more money into my life.’ You don’t know the answer to that. You didn’t ask ‘will you’ or ‘won’t you’ or affirm you are or aren’t. You asked how good can you feel as something occurs.

You don’t know the answer to that question. Your brain has to look for an answer or multiple answers. It won’t stop with one answer, because it works by finding many. That is just what it does. So in using Directed Questions™ you work with how the brain works.

Imagine With You Mind – Believe With Your Heart …

You don’t ask, ‘will I make’ or ‘can I make’ 100 million dollars (although you could answer yes to this) you ask, ‘how delighted will I be to discover myself on the path to making 100 million dollars?’ or ‘what are the first steps I will amaze myself in doing that help me…’

You entertain the idea while asking questions around the idea. You don’t go at it directly but you direct your mind to look for answers and solutions and open yourself up to them along the way. You utilize what is called ‘Transderivational Search’. Search – get it?

TS means your brain continues to look for and find answers even after you stop asking. It seeks outside your awareness. Just as your Reticular Activating System (RAS) finds matches and associations for examples or memories you elicit your brain seeks answers.

… Achieve With Your Might – You Can Do Make It Happen

If you ask, what is the capitol of Arizona? Your brain doesn’t need to progress further than the answer. If you ask, ‘in how many different ways can I feel delighted while working on making 100 million’? your brain doesn’t know so it doesn’t know to stop. It keeps looking.

That is what you want it to do. Generate as many positive ways you can feel delighted while going after your goal. The result you want is two fold; the positive feelings and the numerous possibilities you generate. Now your brain works for you and there is no resistance.

You haven’t drawn a line in the sand. You have asked an engaging question that entertains and hooks the brain or mind to search for you. If you ask ‘why am I so stupid’ you will get numerous examples. If you ask ‘why am I so brilliant’ you will get numerous examples.

The Wise Person Doesn’t Give The Right Answers …

We already are using questions to direct our mind but most people don’t have the good taste to ask ones that make them feel better and accomplish more things easily. We have been conditioned to ask ‘what is wrong’ or ‘why I am I such a putz’ type questions.

At first, you may find it easier to get back one type of answer than the other, or you may find you get a negative answer more quickly, because you have asked these kind of questions from habit. Those neural pathways are well traveled. Well, they are, aren’t they?

Ask better, different positive ones and it may seem a little sluggish. The reason for this is your habits have been negative. It will still work in powerful and incredible ways but you need to develop the habit of asking powerful, positive, directed questions. Get it?

... The Wise Person Asks The Right Questions – Direct Your Mind

‘I don’t know how soon it will be before I make 100 million dollars but how much fun can I discover exploring the many different positive opportunities all along the way that help me to feel excited and filled with joy? How quickly and easily can I feel wonderful?’

Get it. Don’t be stuck. Start moving forward easily and effortlessly. ‘How delighted will I be to discover the many different ways I will make my dream come true all along the way? How much fun and enthusiasm can I feel each day as I consider this?

‘How much delight and enthusiasm can I begin to more fully feel as I take actions steps toward getting what I want? Even though I am not sure how to do it how quickly in how many different wonderful ways could I begin to find myself feeling amazed and delighted?’

Knowledge Is Having An Answer …

‘In how many different ways can I discover myself asking questions and making positive changes that bring me more of what I want? Remember, direct your mind to get what it is you want while describing how you want to get there is the key. Have fun!

Edison didn’t know how to make a working light bulb until after he made a working light bulb. The Wright brothers didn’t know how to fly an airplane until they flew one. Once they did it they knew how to do it and repeat it. Until they they were experimenting.

You will be experimenting too until you get your goal. Once you claim it you will be able to look back and see how you did it. SO stay open. Be available to everything. Stay positive and never lose faith and never give up. Keep pursuing and maintaining a positive frame.

… Intelligence Is Asking The Right Questions – Direct Your Mind

Keep your mind positive and aimed at making it happen and you can accomplish great things. AS you move forward you will become aware of other things you can think and do. You will adjust and adapt along the way. Just as a baby begins with baby steps, so can you.

Believe you can! If you don’t, yet, that may be the first area you want to work on. Get it? Of course you do and if not yet, you will. Direct your mind in positive ways. No one will do it for you. You have to do it if you want to enjoy the results. So do it. Have fun. Be grateful!

Do You Know The Critical First Step In Making Positive Permanent Changes?

“Would you like to be happier? Do you want better heath? Want to perform better in your career, sports, life and relationships? How do you transform you for the better? How do you get started making personal changes? If you are curious we’ll explore in a short series.

Awareness is the first step. At some point on some day for whatever reason you notice something isn’t as wonderful as you hope it would be. You notice a glitch or a disaster. You see someone else being doing or having something you want and you think, ‘that’s for me’.

Somehow at sometime, somewhere you become aware that what you are doing isn’t working. You become aware that something you are doing could be done better. You become aware of lack, of negativity, of the downside or of missing out on the upside.

The Best Way To Predict The Future Is To Create It

You become aware you need to change. You become aware that it might be possible to make changes. You can or could change so you can have more of what you desire. Without this AS a possibility you wouldn’t move forward. Awareness starts it all off. It is the trigger.

Often, you first become aware of what you don’t want before you become aware of what you want. It is as if you outgrow a pair of shoes and feel the pain. You think, ‘I need some new shoes’. Then you begin to decide what kind of new shoes you need or want.

The choice of what you WANT is up to you. You recognize there is a gulf between what you don’t want and what you do want. You realize you need something to be different. You imagine a better you or a better life. You dream of it. You begin to wonder and explore how.

Your Thoughts Create Your Future 

You don’t know yet how it might be possible. You don’t know what to do, for certain, to make it better. You may have an idea or you may be lost trying to figure out what to do next.It can be confusing. So stop. Look at all you don’t want and ask yourself, What do I want instead?’

People get stuck for many reasons. One of the first is when they become aware that life isn’t what they wanted and they get depressed and upset. They get frustrated and angry. They sit there. They stay rooted. They wallow and whine. They complain and blame.

Obviously, this isn’t good though It is normal. It is human. It is actually IS great to get angry. It is good to be SO angry YOU definitely DECIDE to make things different. You get angry enough to think and behave in new ways different.

You Become What You Think About – You Get What You Focus On

It is not so good to wallow and whine. However, anger can be and is a useful starting place because it can cause you to turn your back on the negative. You decided to  drop what is and move toward the positive desires you have. It is the impetus for making changes.

It is critical you turn from the negative and move into the positive. You need to change your focus from what you do not want and begin to entirely focus on what you DO want. You have to build, create or attract what you want and let go of what you don’t want.

Leave or let go of what you don’t want, completely! Use it only to clarify what you want. Get precision and focus on your positive goal. Unfortunately, too many people get stuck in creating more of what they don’t want because they don’t turn towards the positive.

Your Habits Determine Your Present

You must focus on what you want. The anger, and negativity, and knowing what you don’t want is absolutely valuable to help you specify what you do want. You must get clear about what you want and where you want to head. Then you must head there.

You can’t drive forward safely with all your attention in the rearview mirror. When you go on a vacation you need to know your destination.  BUT some exclaim, ‘what if I just want to wander around taking in everything?’ That is the problem with most people.

They wander, they don’t know what they want or where they want to end up. They drift aimlessly. They aren’t focused. They don’t have a plan. They don’t have a road map to get from points A to Z. You need to know where you are going in order to get there.

If You Want A New Better Future – Create New Better Habits

If they would set their site of the end goal they will know when they get there. This is an important point not to miss! Know what you want. Focus on it so you can create it. Build what you want rather than fighting the old.  Once it is built party. Celebrate along the way.

In the next blog posts I’ll share some move. Meanwhile explore. Determine hat do you truly want. Clarify it. Be specific. Visualize it. See it, hear it, feel it, smell it, taste it. Make it as real as you can for yourself. Be glad you are being concise.

Mindset Matters: How Not To Turn Mole Hills Into Mountains

“How we view things often determines how we go through things. If you perceive something as a problem it certainly is. If you can perceive it as an opportunity it can be. Our mindset is powerful. Some would argue problems are problems and nothing changes.

Oh, but it does. You’ve heard the expression, ‘don’t make mountains out of mole hills’. That expression encourages us not to make big things from little things. Sometimes, that is just what we do. We exaggerate our difficulties and make them larger than they are.

The ideal mindset is, ‘I am bigger than any obstacle or challenge’. You are. You certainly are if you believe you are. Our mind is a wonderful resource, that has been conditioned to oppose us, since birth. We need to claim it back and make it work for us, how we want it to.

Perception Right Or Wrong Influences Everything You Do

It works perfectly, doing what it learned to do. It is on channel 7 and we need to change it to channel 2. We simply are watching the wrong programs. We don’t believe we are enough. We think our problems insurmountable. We worry about money. On and on!

Most of the way we learn to think we inherited from others while we were to young to know any better. We didn’t choose our thoughts. NOW, we can. Now we must if we want to be free from chronic old conditioning that limits us and causes us pain.

Anything can be viewed from multiple angles. Our point of view is only one of many. There are differing opinions on everything possible to discuss. Yet, typically, we think our version of reality is the one true version of reality. It isn’t. AND in some ways it is.

Positive Mind – Positive Vibes – Positive Life – It’s A Reflection

If we are locked into it then, yes, it is the only choice we know and act from. It is not the only choice there is. Waking up to other choices means we can begin to think, feel, speak and act differently. We can begin to get different results when we think differently.

When we choose differently we get different outcomes. It is more desirable to be flexible than inflexible. A tall strong reed bends with the wind while those too rigid snap. It is in our best interests to learn to adopt mindsets that serve us and allow us to evolve flexibly.

If you could begin to view all difficulties as opportunities your life would radically improve. If you chose to look at all opportunities as blessings that you chose to help you grow your life would improve beyond belief. Why don’t you do that? Because of prior conditioning.

Facts Matter Not At All – Perception Is Everything – It’s Certainty

You have your reasons and excuses. I have mine. We all do. The fact of the matter is none of them are real. We only think they are. Our points of view, our beliefs are interchangeable only most of don’t think that they are. We don’t think differently is the issue. We can.

We can think differently. However, now it is a choice. We aren’t being unconsciously programmed as we once were. We’re no longer growing up assimilating beliefs, values, reasons, excuses and blames. Now we consciously choose and consciously implement.

It is different now that it is a choice. It is simple but not always easy. We are choosing the program instead of being programmed. Once we do we learn we have amazing strengths we didn’t know we had. There is a huge upside to choosing what to think, today.

Your Life Is What Your Thoughts Make It – Attitude Is Everything

I hope you will. Put on the point of view that everything you experience is your choice and you choose to think of it as a blessing and opportunity. If you have been following my blog for awhile you know that I don’t care whether it is ‘true’ or not. We act as if it is.

It is your mindset, your mental filter. It is your adopted point of view or new belief. You choose it to guide you in thinking and being. You stop viewing problems as obstacles and problems and view them as lessons, blessings and opportunities you choose for your own good.

Pretend you have a higher wisdom that knows better than you what you actually need. Your life is designed to bring you great joy when you evolve to higher, more aware, levels. Each opportunity, whether tough or easy is designed for that purpose. To help you evolve more.

Mindset Is Everything – What You Think You Become 

It is there to serve you, make you a better person and help you to have a better life because of it. If the opportunity were not there you would be missing out on many important things. All of it is to serve you. You deserve the best. Yet, I know some will object.

I am suggesting consciously choosing to imagine how things might be, how they can be. I am suggesting you utilize a different filter to think about problems and issues. The choice to do is yours completely. However, if you always do what you always did…

You will always get what you always got. Nothing will change unless and until you change it. Find the frames that serve you best. Find the mindset that makes you invincible and unstoppable. Find the thoughts that make you feel wonderful and the most joy, most often.

If You Think You Can Or Your Think You Can’t – You Are Right

Choose to make your life what it can be. Don’t settle for less than the best for yourself. Learn to be and stay positive. Become powerful and don’t quit. Make your dreams come true. Transform difficulty into opportunity and become richer in mind, heart and deed. Find gratitude for all events and circumstances. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Become Aware Of What You Aren’t Aware Of And Why You Must!

“Awareness is the first step in transformation.  Awareness can lead to change. So what is it we become aware of? Ideally, we become aware of our own conditioned mind. We become aware of the chronic ‘less than glorious’ thoughts we think and speak.

Hopefully, we become able to recognize that which limits us and holds us back from being, doing and having what we want. We realize what the prior ‘bad’ conditioning is so we can drop it, move beyond it or change it. What happens if we don’t become aware?

We stay as we are. We don’t know what we don’t know. How could we be aware of what we aren’t aware of? If we don’t realize there is a problem we wouldn’t do anything to make it different, would we? So awareness must be that which precedes changing.

Awareness Precedes Change – Acceptance Follows

This is a bit tricky. How do we become aware of what we aren’t aware of? Somehow, something comes to our attention. If and when it does it presents us the opportunity to examine it and potentially alter it. Just becoming aware of something first might alter it.

If you were in a dark room, no light, and didn’t know there were any doors and windows, but somehow you safely made it over to a wall, you could feel your way around the room until you discovered a door or window you might use to leave from. Right? Get it?

The discovery makes new choices available. Prior to this awareness you might not have any idea you could leave, even though you may have wanted to. Anything is possible and I could belabor this point but I hope I don’t have to. Once we become aware we have choice.

Become Aware Of The Space Between Your Thoughts

We have new choices. When we decide on one of the choices things may alter. When they do, how they do, what they do, prior to choosing is unknown to us. Once we make the choice and act we are accountable for what happens. After all, it was our choice. We acted.

We decided and whatever follows our decision, follows our decision. While we might want to know the consequences in advance of choosing, often we can not. We find out only after the choice is made. If we made the wrong choice we can choose again. Hopefully.

The mirror reflects what it is in front of it. It may not realize that it reflects anything. It misses that it reflects because it has reflected for so long. Reflection is what it automatically does. It is habit for the mirror. It is not conscious or aware that it reflects. It just reflects.

Become Aware Of The Silence Between Your Words

If it could become aware that it automatically reflects, then it might have a choice whether it wanted to continue or not. Does this make sense? It isn’t a perfect analogy, of course. Hopefully, you get where I am going with this. We project. Automatically, we project.

We automatically assign meaning or value or motive to other people’s words and actions. We project our narrative onto their statements and twist them to our ways of thinking without realizing we are doing it. We do this to ourselves as well. We project on us.

We assign reasons and motives to our thoughts, words and actions which, according to research, which I don’t have space to get into here, may not be accurate at all. Reference research and conclusions made in split-brain operations. See Michael Gazzagnia et al.

Become Aware Of The Space Between Musical Notes

We have a narrative that we unconsciously, habitually, automatically, use to assign meaning to our thoughts and behaviors. We may not even realize this. It is too close to us. It is so close! It is our thoughts and our self talk. We just ‘DO IT’ albeit without choice.

IT IS our conditioning AND we can’t see it. We don’t realize what our conditioning IS because we are using it to navigate the world. So we do it repeatedly day in and day out UNTIL that moment we become aware that we WERE and ARE conditioned to think and act in ways.

THEN, possibly, ONCE noticed, we can choose whether to continue or not. Either we drop it or we don’t. OR we attempt to drop it only to discover it isn’t as easy as we hoped because we find ourselves operating from that which we want to change again and again.

Focus On Your Breath – Be Aware When Your Mind Wanders

Get it? We attempt to drop it and break free but it is a deeper, more ingrained, issue than simply changing a shirt that got stained. We try to remove our programming only to find ourselves ‘doing’ our programming again and again. AHHHH the beginning of awareness!

That is what we become aware of. Those times we fall back into our habits and our conditioned patterns. After a while we begin to realize when we are doing ‘the old thing’ yet again. Time after time. It requires practice, this awareness, just as juggling does.

Over and over again we toss balls up. We get so far and then we drop one or more. Again we do it. Again we drop some. It is called practice. Eventually, we drop fewer times and keep balls up in the air longer. Eventually, we get better at it. Then even better and better.

Become Aware When Your Self Talk Is Negative And Stop It …

As long as we continue to practice correctly, we can continue to improve. If we practice the wrong things we won’t get as good of results as we hope for. We will practice and get the wrong things . If we quit at any time we won’t the results we want. We have stopped.

We can practice awareness. We can practice choice. We can get better at it the more experience we have with it. First, we must become aware. That is what we are MOST blind too. That is what we notice least, but when we do, opportunity abounds. It always does!

Opportunity is always there we just aren’t aware of it much of the time because of the blinders we wear. Our blinders ARE the conditioning we live from. Again, we don’t know what we don’t know. We can’t know it. PLUS, what we know may be wrong!

… Gently Change Your Self Talk Into Positive Self Talk

If we think it isn’t we are misguided. If it is correct and we think it isn’t we are also misguided! Accurate thinking is very difficult to achieve because few, if any of us, have been exposed to it, or taught it, or condition to it, growing up. Most of us were conditioned well.

Well, but poorly. We learned limitations and reasons why ‘we can’t’ over reason why we can. We learned to doubt, to fear and to be anxious. We learned to excuse, find reasons and blame ourselves, others and the world for why we aren’t enough. We learned wrong.

We got bad information, without realizing it was bad info, and we continue to live from it 10, 20, 50 years later. Many continue because they never become aware that they were well-programmed with bad info. It is like having a great computer with faulty software.

Notice When You Feel Less Thank Glorious And Change It

Unless, one realize the software is the issue the bugs, glitches or failures continue. The computer doesn’t know it is running faulty or bad software it just runs what it was provided to run. This is similar to most of us. We just run on and on and on the same programs.

Unless, or until we become aware that we don’t have to. Then, we can seek to change it. Perhaps, that moment, of awareness is explosive enough transformation and everything changes in an instant. Perhaps, it is only the beginning of a whole new way.

It may only be the beginning but it may be a powerful one. A small opening can be powerful. A small, tiny degree change in course, can lead to hundreds of thousands of miles difference over time and space. A baby step can lead to monumental change. Its an opening!

Stay Positive – Stay Gentle –  Nurture And Encourage

Become aware! How? That is the question. That is what we will continue to explore in these blog pages. As always, your comments and questions are welcome. Awareness is the beginning, the first step in change. If you want to change awareness is critical.

The second step is acceptance. Future posts will explore these key concepts. Meanwhile, become aware of the power of gratitude. How? Through practice! If it remains only a concept it will remain only a concept. Practice it and you can discover many new things.

Find more and more to be grateful about. Notice it. Notice why you appreciate people, places, things, activities and information in your life.  Write it down. It helps to write things out. List them. Do it daily. Scan you experience, past and present, and discover what is good and new you can feel grateful for. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

End The B S Here And Now!

“Has anyone ever provided you with the wrong or false information? You didn’t realize that it was inaccurate of false so you acted on it as if it were true. Perhaps, it was directions to an address  you followed and ended up at the wrong place. Perhaps, you got the wrong name?

Someone told you something about another person you acted on or believed. Later, you learned it was completely untrue. It was a lie! We all have believed gossip at times, right? People have provided you falsehoods that you believed were reliable but they weren’t.

What did you do when you learned the ‘truth’? Besides being upset or getting even what did you do when you learned the correct information? Once the lie was exposed as a lie did you continue to believe it? Some will, perhaps. Did you? Did you change your mind?

Stupid Is Knowing And Seeing The Truth – Still Believing The Lies

Did you change your thinking about the person? Did you correct and go to the right address? Did you make a shift of some kind? Did you carry the lie around for years once you knew it was a lie or did you drop it? Perhaps, you vowed to never believe the person who lied.

Perhaps, you later learned THAT person also believed the lie and spread it. Believing it to be accurate or true they shared it, they repeated it. Perhaps, later they learned it was a mistake, too. Lies are lies after all. Sometimes difficult to tell. Silly, sometimes to blame.

Why then, do you continue to believe the lies told to you about the world, money, love, and you? My recent blog was about our early conditioning and learning to free ourselves up from the limitations we inadvertently grew up with. We adopted other’s beliefs.

Give Yourself The Chance To Discover Who You Really Are

If you don’t like it when others lie to you STOP lying to yourself. Stop perpetuating negative myths about yourself and the world. Stop it! Stop It ! Stop It! Get really tired of it and DROP IT! Quit. Say, ‘that is enough!’ and start living free of those lies. Stop believing limitations.

We co-opted other’s versions of what IS; of what is true. Much it is unreliable. Much of it is negative, can’t do it thinking. Much of it is how the world or you is broken somehow. Much of it is how conditions suck and are difficult and touch. There isn’t enough!

We are running out. Money is hard to earn. Only the greedy get rich. You must postpone happiness. It is better to do without than to live well.  Love is difficult to find. You aren’t good enough. The myriad of B.S. that surrounds us and fills us IS endless. (redundancy intact)

Life’s Challenges Are There To Help You Discover Yourself

Yet, we believe it. Some never realize they have been lied to. Albeit not always intentionally were we lied to but the result is the same. We grew up adopting the limited mindset of others. Others propagated the untruths purposefully or unintentionally.

Some won’t wake up or refuse to wake up to this. That is okay, let them sleep. Others realize they have been lied to and get angry but do nothing about it. Others rage against the world and the lie tellers and never get over the hurt. Others notice it, wake up and let it go.

Some tell themselves more positive, useful, lies that help them live the life they want. The bottom line is every statement of thought or belief is incomplete. The ultimate is unknown. You can’t know what you don’t know, yet. Forget ultimate truth and live from useful lies.

You Can Affirm The Positive Or The Negative – It Is Your Choice

Affirm those positive thoughts that move you further ahead in life and help bring you the people, activities and things you want. Believe those things that help you and help you help others. Believe those lies that free you up, make you nicer, kinder, and more loving.

Stop affirming the negative lies you believed for so long in the past. Start believing the world is a wonderful place and you are a wonderful person. Believe you can do anything when you learn how. You can learn anything because in your life you already have.

You learned to roll over, sit up, balance, crawl, walk, feed yourself, bathroom habits, walk, read and write, work with numbers, play games, tell lies, tell ‘truths’ communicate with others, work, love, hate, feel good, feel bad, you have learned so very much.

The Privilege Of A Lifetime Is To Become Who Your Truly Are

You are wired to learn. SO learn something new. Learn something useful. Learn how to make you life grand. Learn to think positive, feel wonderful, live joyously, succeed elegantly and do whatever good things you want. You can learn to do it. Give yourself permission.

If you must give yourself permission to do it. DO so! Allow yourself to succeed and make money. Allow yourself to be happy and rich. Allow yourself to have incredible family relationships, sexual relationships and friendships. Live to the fullest. You deserve to!

AND YOU CAN! You absolutely can learn how. You can learnt o stop the lies! Stop listening to the ones you have been telling yourself. Quit accepting those. Put them to rest. Drop the negativity, the excuses, the blaming, the winning, the ‘I can’t’ the ‘It’s too hard’ stuff.

Stop Believing Other’s Lies About You And About The World

End the ‘economy sucks’ thinking. Get with the program. Most of the really rich didn’t inherit it. They made it. You can too. Most of the happy people have lived through incredible hardship and pain. Life is whatever it is. Accept it. Determine to make your life what you want.

Stop buying into B.S. and start living your own truth. Affirm thoughts that make you powerful, positive, confident, loving, kind, cooperative, generous, supportive, committed, dedicated, playful, fun, honest, loyal, dynamic, charismatic, attractive, and more.

Live the good life because you can. For no other reason than that. Live large and enjoy life. Stop being petty and limiting yourself.Stop being stingy with life and good feelings. You deserve all the good things there are in existence. Tap into it. Free yourself up.

Life Isn’t About Finding Yourself – Life Is About Creating Yourself

Live in appreciation. Live with gratitude. Open the doors to blessings. Challenges only make you stronger if you realize everything is a blessing. Be thankful! Stop being a wimp. Start being a champion. Live, love, laugh and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Your Suffering Is All In Your Head But You Can Change It

“Buddha said  all suffering is due to thought. All suffering stems from not being present. The mind is conditioned to go backwards and forwards, to go anywhere but right here and now in the present. We have been conditioned from birth to not be present.

To be here now is to be totally present in the moment. Drop into the moment and be fulfilled in ways the mind can never know. It is beyond the mind. If you must think it is best to think the positive and focus on what you want to create and build. Stop negativity.

You can learn to gain control over your thoughts and feelings. You can be in charge. In learning control you can will learn how to still the mind. You learn how to focus, to concentrate, on what you want and to let go of what you do not want. Drop what you don’t want.

What You Resist Persists – What You Befriend You Transcend

People are concerned about what will be.  They fear or negatively anticipate, they worry, about the future.  They feel regret, shame, anger and guilt about the past. The past and the future keep us from the present moment. The worry or the shame locks us up negatively.

Try this on.  Go for a walk and noticed how your feet contact the earth. Put all your awareness and attention on your feet.  Feel the contact. Notice it. Notice the rate of your movement. Feel your legs moving, your arm swinging,  your body moving through space.

Feel the wind or lack of it. Feel the elements. Do nothing but feel. Attempt to be still. Quiet the voice, the sound track in your head. Whenever you notice you are not feeling, gently return your attention to your walking and continue to notice. Become  aware.

Do Not Identify With Your Thoughts – Stop Being Possessed 

On another walk focus on your feelings. Add observation. Observe your surrounding. See what you see. Notice.  Look at the space between the trees and the plants and the grass. Notice everything. Objects and the empty space between them. Simply look.

Focus on noticing and looking during a walk. On another walk  listen to the emptiness, the silence, the gaps in the sound. The gaps between thoughts. Notice sounds simultaneously occur. Listen for the silences between the sounds. Concentrate on hearing nothing.

During another walk simply walk. Feel, observe and listen. Be as present as possible. None of these walks, these exercises, need be rushed. Take your time. Indulge yourself. Go slowly. Be present. Go slowly. Do a little each day. Make it a ritual practice. A sacred art.

You Are Not Your Thoughts – You Are The Thinker Of Thoughts

In the present moment notice everything that is. Draw your attention to being in the moment. Notice when your mind goes elsewhere and gently bring it back to the present walk. The ancients called  it the monkey mind centuries ago because it jumps around.

You can’t suppress the monkey mind. It is a conditioned part of you but you can transcend it. You can go beyond it and simply watch it. You gain control by returning each time you stray. You learn to focus and shift your attention and keep it in one place. Be the watcher.

Learn to control your thoughts so your thinking can be more positive than negative. Learn to control your thinking so you can be more present, in the here and now. When you can control your thoughts, and you can be positive more than negative great things can begin.

Negative Thoughts Stick Around Because We Believe Them – Stop

Stay positive. You will think and feel better. During your practice stay aware. Notice when you are positive and when you aren’t. When your thoughts stray from positive gently return them. Don’t resist. Don’t push. Don’t  fight. Be patient, positive and gentle.

To do so requires awareness. Another exercise to do. Bring your attention to the moment. Let go of your past and future. Let go of the thoughts and simply watch them as if they were leaves on stream going by. Notice which are positive and which are negative.

We are so much more than our thoughts. People think they are their thoughts. They are controlled by their thoughts. Their thoughts torment them. YOU are the thinker. YOU should be in charge. We aren’t our thoughts. Discover who you are. Realize who you are.

Awareness Is The First Step In Positive Permanent Change

Learn to be present. Allow distractions to move on by. Stay in the present.  Learn to sit without thinking. Just sit and observe and listen and feel without thinking, without judging, without the describing. Be here now for there is nowhere else to be. Go with the flow.

Watch the white clouds as they drift in the sky. Listen to the gaps between words, between musical notes. Simply be. When you are here and now you are positive. When you are here and now you can be truly grateful. You can, in this moment, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

If You Are So Smart Why Don’t You Create Some Good Things In Your Life?

“We are co-creators in everything.  Some people create Jaguars other people create junk cars .  We create either opulence or poverty. Together, we create the moment. I know some people will have difficulty with this blog, others will feel right at home.

I had an argument. Afterwards, I felt some remorse. I forgave myself accepted  myself, and what IS (was). I forgave the other person. During the argument I even said to the other person. ‘I’m sorry I was out of line here. I apologize.’ We argued. Afterwards, I realized.

I realized we created the argument together.  WE created the argument. It takes two to argue. I couldn’t argued alone. It doesn’t matter who or how it started. Both of us argued. Not only argued we kept arguing. Isn’t this a lot like it is for you and others, too?

Our Thoughts Create Our Reality

What I realized was, I didn’t want to be arguing but I did it anyway. Most likely the other party didn’t want to either. SO then why did we? Habit. Yes, conditioning. That is what we often do. Act from habit. Our fights were habits. My fighting is habit. Old, old habits.

The question or questions I might’ve asked as the argument was going on would have been this:  Is THIS what  we want our moment to be? Is this what we want to create right now? Do we want to be arguing or solving something? What are WE creating?

It’s useful to remember there is positive and negative. There is up and down. There is hot and cold, good and bad. There are opposites and contrast. Which do you want to focus on? What do you want to create? What do you want the moment to be?

Where We Put Our Attention Is The Direction We Go

What you want to broadcast and receive? What are you putting out there? What are you taking in? Think creation. What are you creating? Think attraction. What are you attracting? It is important to consider each moment.

What do we want our present, here and now, to be? Are we even in the present, here and now could be in the present here and now, or suffering the past and the future? Are we rehashing old wounds and making new ones to try to change the future?

Do we  really want to suffer from  the past or be anxious or fear the future or would we prefer to be here now and create something nicer? Each moment we have an opportunity to be present and create something incredible if we keep aware.

Change How You Look At Things The Things You Look At Change

If we remember who we are. I imagine we are great spirit. We are god playing the game hide and seek with ourselves and each other. God argues with God. If I think about it this person I’m arguing with as god attempting to help me be a better person it helps me.

Yes, they are challenging me and confronting me.  What are my choices? I can react with anger, fear, sadness, worry, revenge, attempt to get one up. I can fight harder or run and retreat. I can give in and regret and resent.

OR I can remember that this other is there to help me be a better me. To be free of previous past conditioning. I can realize we both are divine and that this is a divine play. A divine unfolding.  I am god playing with god.  The other is god playing with god.

Every Thought We Think Is Creating Our Future Remember

It’s as if two piece from a broken mirror, the fragments, are arguing. Each blames the other. Each doesn’t realize they are both a mirror. They only think they are fragments. The fragments are arguing. BUT the fragments are the same thing only they don’t realize it!

Silly isn’t it. Even though we are fragments there is no separation. We are both the same. We are the same source energy. We are one thinking we are separate. The fragments have ego and wants and borders and boundaries and rules and games.

So as god pretending to be fragments we challenge each other to help each other remember who we actually are. Every circumstance, every obstacle, every argue argument, every frustration are designed to help you remember. We play the game so well, don’t we?

Energy Flows Where Attention Goes – Create What You Want

Remember, ‘I am a fragment of a mirror’. I am divine. The other is divine. What is IS. All of it, none of it. It just is. Yet, most of the time as fragments we spend our thoughts and feelings in the past and future, anywhere but here and now. We don’t realize much, do we?

We are all made of the same stardust. We were born eons ago. Our essences exists in timelessness. We ought to remember we are creating every instant, each and every moment.  We are all god. We are all universe. We are all life energy. But we forgot.

We are one pretending to be many. We are pretending so we have forgotten how powerful we are. We can create and attract anything. Some create Jaguars others Junk Cars. Don’t you think it is time we remember? It is time we woke up to who we truly are? I think so!

Reality Is Merely An Illusion Albeit A Very Persistent One

When you realize your power you won’t be preoccupied by the petty, will you? Why not create incredible good fortune? Determine what you want to create and then begin to create it. Aim high. It is your one go around, this life. After this, who knows what?

Is any of this true? I don’t know. I don’t worry about it. I utilize whatever frame is useful to encourage myself to explore and become more aware. I don’t worry about whether I am really god or not. Others will worry about that for me, I am sure.

I concern myself with conscious evolution. I concern myself with being present as frequently as possible. I determine to live here and now and celebrate the gaps between each moment. I choose to live from a higher perspective than what I was conditioned to.

By Changing Your Mind –  You Change Everything

I think recognizing that we can control our thoughts and manage our emotions is a great thing. We can put great creative, imaginative power to positive good use to create whatever we want in this life. We can become more aware, love more, live more and be more free.

So I choose to enjoy and delight. I invite you to as well. Create peace and harmony. Love. Be kind and find kindness. Delight in wealth, health and happiness. Enjoy your creation. Decide the life you are going to live and begin to live it. No excuses. No blames. Just go do it. Then have some fun. Be thankful and celebrate everything!”  Rex Sikes

How To Stop Fighting With Others And Yourself

“I was in 7th or 8th grade and called to fight by another classmate. That meant waiting until after school and meeting up and ‘duking it out’. He was my size but tougher. I thought I was pretty tough but basically was a wimp and afraid. I never really wanted to fight.

After school he and his ‘gang’ gathered. I walked out with my friends. Soon two opposing camps faced each other hurling insults. His supporters razzing me and cheering him on, mind doing likewise. We were about to fight. He called me names and taunted.

In a moment, that seemed very long, I had a lucid awareness. I look at this other kid. We had been friends once. We liked each other. Now, I don’t remember what the fight about, but it was likely over a girl. I looked at him angry at me, calling me names. I saw his friends.

There Are Only Two Options – Make Progress Or Make Excuses

They were calling me names. I looked around. My friends were calling he and them names. We were squared off and I went somewhere else momentarily. I thought, he thinks, I am an ass. I think he is an ass. His friends think I am an ass. My friends think he is.

We all think the same thing about each other. We are two opposing sides. We are angry and yelling at each other. Each side, each potential fighter thinks he is correct. What if they are right? What if I am right? What difference does any of this make? Why are we mad?

He is correct. I am an ass at times. I can be, I know that. I don’t want to admit that. I’m not very proud of it. Typically, if you call me on my crap I’ll get angry and defend myself, at least verbally. I will attack you back BUT not this time. Something happened! An awareness!

You Don’t Stop A Fight By Fighting – You Stop By Stopping To Fight

I couldn’t find a reason to fight. It was insane. We both are caught up in disliking each other. Our gangs don’t know anything about anything. They are just sheep following and supporting us. WOW, what is going on? I knew right then there was no ultimate truth.

At least not in this name calling. We were both right! We were both also wrong about each other. We were just yelling opinions and none of any of us actually in touch with anything accurate or real. We were all just acting out some insane hatred for each other.

I came back to hear the taunts and name calling. I said, ‘hey I don’t want to fight with you’. I wasn’t afraid. I just discovered I had NO reason not to like him, I had no reason to fight. He swung at me I swung back and punched right into his fist. He cried out in pain!

When You Stop Fighting The Way Things Are Magic Can Happen

He fell to the ground, crying and rolling around. Later, we learn he broke some fingers. It was over. He writhed on the ground, I stood there stunned and secretly glad it hadn’t gone any further. I was heralded as victor by my gang. Of course, his didn’t think so.

But they didn’t argue. He was on the ground and I stood over him. None of any of this mattered. I swung, I don’t know why. Instinct, I assume. I knew, however, I didn’t want to fight and was not going to. We left the scene. I thought about the event for quite some time.

I realized, so often, we choose a side and then defend it no matter what. We have a position or a stance and we maintain it or try to, regardless. We hurt loved ones, friends and strangers  by wanting to be right. We look for or hang with those who think as we do.

If You Can’t Change It – Change The Way You Think About It

We are not tolerant of other views or people, except rarely, or unless we learn to accept and embrace difference. We have to learn to be okay with differences. We can’t ignore them but we don’t have to fear or hate or exclude them either. We can learn to let go and allow.

There is too much hate and discord. Violence has never ever solved anything. Might doesn’t make right. More often it only makes more enemies. No one likes a bully whether on the schoolyard or in the pulpit. Still, people cheer their ‘team’. They follow as lemmings do.

Thinking and feeling seem in short supply. We need to accurately assess and not be so opinionated. We need to not be ruled by opinions; our own or others. We need to be able to be curious, open, accepting and tolerant of those and that which differs from us.

Letting Go Doesn’t Mean Giving Up But Rather Acceptance

We need to listen more and stop shouting. We need to listen actively and hear what others say and not just wait our turn to speak. HEARING and LISTENING are not the same thing. We need to understand. First comes awareness then comes understanding.

We need to be more peaceful not more fearful. Making others fear us does’t make us stronger or better. We only create more enemies. We need to think peace and then act it. We need to feel more compassion and less intolerance. Seek to elevate not to bring down.

We need to stop creating problems and enemies. We need to create more friends. We need to become responsible and realize it is up to each of us. It is up to you and me to live peacefully. We must overcome our conditioning and habits and prejudices. We can!

Time Doesn’t Heal Everything But Acceptance Can – Use Time Well

Together we can accomplish more than we are capable of as individuals. Yes, there is power in numbers. Mobs rule. Let’s create and be part of friendly, loving mobs. Instead of sinking to the lowest common denominator lets seek to rise to the highest.

Let’s not lower our standards but raise them; not to exclude but to include more. Lets expect the best of ourselves, then actually do it, Let’s not just  talk and wish it happens. Let’s be determined to be the change we want to see in the world. Determine to be the change!

It starts within each of us. Live well and help others do the same. Be grateful, find the good in each person and all circumstances. Live, love, laugh! Be filled with compassion. Spread it and share it all around. Delight in differences and diversity! Celebrate everything.”

You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know And It Is Stopping You From Getting What You Want

“Your personal blind spot. You can’t see it. You aren’t even aware of it. You don’t know it exists. Others may, but you don’t. You don’t know what you don’t know. You can’t. You are unable to. You need to become aware of what you don’t know because it IS  limitation.

What you don’t know IS limiting you. How do you become aware of what you do not know? You rely on others who DO know what you don’t and can see that you don’t know it. These become your mentors and coaches, your teachers, guides and consultants

These become your trainers or sages. They can help you begin to see what you can’t yet. Those who are where you want to be and have started from where you started are most qualified because they have been where you are and have gone where you want to go.

Minds Are Like Parachutes They Only Work When Open

How willing are you to learn? How teachable are you? Can you stay open? For most people the three words that cause most trouble are ‘I know that.’ People stop, when they think they know something. Often, they only know about something. They are informed.

They hear a presenter speaking about something they have only read about and they think or say, ‘I know that’. Instead of staying open and listening and learning. If you really knew THAT why are you getting the lackluster results you are getting? Hmmmmmm?

If you really KNEW that you’d be applying it in a way to make your life better. To KNOW and not to DO is to not know. Information is only power when you USE IT to transform. Knowing is the ability to take inspired action not just satisfying intellectual information.

You Can’t See Your Own Face Without A Mirrored Reflection

Get it? If you think you know something how are you using it to transform your experience into something more grand? How are you assisting others in making positive changes? If you aren’t yet, you can. Stop! Let go of being right. Allow yourself to be humble.

You may need some assistance so be willing to allow the right others to guide you. Invest in yourself. You may need a book or some audio material, a mentor, a program or coaching and training.  You may not but allow yourself to be helped in moving yourself forward.

Walk the path with someone else. Let them support you. Allow it. Look, listen, learn and apply. The proper fruit of knowledge is action. The most important thing one can do is stay open, be available and use what you are learning. Make the changes you want.

Be Willing To Listen To Those People Who Have What You Want

Get feedback. Get feedback from the results you get and from others. Learn from everything. Evaluate and apply the feedback. Be careful to not just dismiss it. Awareness and understand are the two first steps to change. You don’t change unless you DO something.

That may be changing your thoughts because mindset is the first BIG piece. Get the mindset, the attitude, the thoughts right. Your feelings will follow and help you produce the right actions. Performing the right actions, consistently for long enough to become habits.

You want success habits that lead to successful results. We already have some success habits and some not success habits. We have those that support us and those which don’t. We have habits of doing and habits of not doing. If results suck you need new habits.

Listen To Those People Who Are Already Doing What You Want To

If you can’t see it, or you ‘already know that’ but you aren’t changing AND you want to, then find someone who can help you take the steps that serve you. Get you head on straight and bring your best game. It is great to have assistance from the correct sources.

Maps exist to help you reduce the amount of time it takes to get from place to place. They exist because people who already know they way shared the way. Some maps are incorrect so be sure you choose your sources wisely.  Listen to the correct sources.

If those around you say it can’t be done, and are not doing it, while there are others who are, they don’t know either. They have made up their minds against it. Be respectful, be polite, love them anyway and find those who are doing it already to guide you. Choose!

Tour Guides Exist To Point Out What You Might Otherwise Miss

Be open to the feedback from the right sources. Learn from it and apply it. Be grateful for opportunities and for those who support you. You are blessed when you discover those right mentors who care enough to be there for you. Enjoy your guides and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Never Let Circumstances Bring You Down – Learn To Live Triumphantly

“Have you ever been on a roll and then excrement hits the fan? What’s up with that? Have you wondered, ‘WTF?’ You are riding high and then something comes along and levels the field or worse. It might suck, right? What if it didn’t have to? What would that be like?

Yesterday was a very different day from Monday’s blissful day. Some might say, the day presented some challenges. Certainly, there were numerous situations. For the purposes of illustration I’ll call them challenges. Still, the days WAS blissful and wonderful. One example.

Everywhere I drove during rush hour was jammed up. Each road I took, for the span over an hour, was a dead end, no outlet road, and detours to nowhere. It was amazing. I never before experienced anything quite like this. It was a twilight zone like.

Words Are Seeds – Be Careful What You Plant

I drove around trying to get out of a certain section that bounded a freeway and had construction, road and building, all around. After driving and trying each turn only to find it ultimately blocked I found one back road open! Hooray! Except it was closed by an accident!

There was no getting around it. I backed up, tried going back the way I came, to look for other avenues of escape. Finally, I found a way out. Once I got out I turned onto a major road which went up and over a bridge. As I got onto the bridge all traffic stopped. I was stuck.

I couldn’t go forward or turn back around. A truck broke down on the bridge shutting it down to one lane. Traffic was slowly merging right to go around. It was a good long while. I had never seen the traffic this congested, in this area, as far back as I can remember.

All That We Are Is The Result Of Our Thoughts

It was a different sort of busy driving day. After about an hour I managed to drive on into much more heavier bumper to bumper traffic. In my teen years in L A I’d have had road rage to the max. It was pretty tempting yesterday to let go and get angry about it.

Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to realize getting upset wouldn’t have changed the situations. I’d be stuck in traffic and mad, instead of stuck in traffic. Plus, as I have often pointed out, traffic is a fantastic place to learn to surrender and let go. So walk the talk, Rex.

I relax, and let go. I decided to assume I had created all this JUST especially for me. This is my mental construct, my fantasy. I wanted to discover, IF I had engineered this, or god or universe or whatever, why, what lesson might I take from it? Multiple lessons o’plenty!

Change Your Thinking And You Change Your Life

I examined and reflected. I gleaned insights for myself that I think are useful. Most importantly, the trite aphorism comes to mind, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. How do you make the best of a bad situation? If you label it bad to begin with, it’s tougher.

It is better not to label it anything at all. Don’t call it a problem or a challenge or an obstacle. It just is. Why start one down? It is what it is. The less we label the better off we are sometimes. Perhaps, we call it a situation or an opportunity. Yes, call it an opportunity.

Some think I must be mad. An opportunity! I can almost here them exclaim it. What are you outta your mind? Yes, I absolutely hope so. I hope I am out of the conditioning that says, if you have a hammer you treat everything as a nail. Problems do not make you feel good.

Thoughts Create Your Reality – Choose Your Thoughts Wisely

Opportunity may make you feel good. So it is an opportunity to relax, let go, enjoy sitting still, reflect, people watch, take a breather, learn from the situation. It IS whatever you decide it is. You determine whether it is good or bad. It is ALWAYS  YOUR choice.

Whether others agree isn’t the point. You can find plenty for whom misery loves company. You can band together and complain long and hard and it won’t change anything except your emotional state for the worse. Fewer will choose to look at it as a blessing. Yet, it is.

IF YOU decide it is. Everything IS as it is. You decide whether it is a blessing or not. As for me, I prefer that there are more blessings and opportunities than problems and obstacles. I want my blessing ration high so I declare more things blessings than otherwise.

Once You Become Aware Of How Powerful Your Thoughts Are …

You want to learn mental control? You want to be more resourceful?You want to live a better life? THEN live blessed and filled with gratitude! Enjoy everything. I point this out, this happening yesterday for a reason.  Some think, well it’s easy if your life is easy.

Some think, positive thinking is wearing rose tinted glasses. Some think, easy for you to say if you don’t have any challenges or face everyday constraints like the rest of us. I do, you do, we all do. Few lived charmed lives and aren’t touch by hurt or despair. Few, maybe.

Most everyone has to live with the day to day situations. Ups and downs, highs and lows, goods and bads. Most people have grown up learning to complain about circumstances and to long or wish for other circumstances. There are preferences and habits.

… You’ll Realize Everything In Your Life Is How You Allow It To Be

Habit has most people whining and complaining, excusing and blaming. Stop living your life dictated by circumstances. Instead dictate how you respond to the circumstances. Be larger than the problems. Call them anything but problems. Call them opportunities.

Practice this correctly long enough and you can get pretty good at it. Get good at letting go, living well and enjoying all events and circumstances as much as possible. Then as speed bumps occur you can find yourself at ease instead of getting bent out of shape.

You change habits with awareness and understanding. You change habits through correct repetition. You change habits by willpower and persistence. You change  by being committed to changing no matter what. As you change, what is difficult at first, becomes easier.

You Create Your Own Reality For Goodness Sake Have Good Taste

Awareness is the key. Whenever you realize you are thinking or feeling less than glorious make a purposeful, deliberate move to shift from the not glorious to the more glorious. Shift from negative to positive. Deliberately, with intention, as often as necessary.

Sometimes, you just have to do it a lot, over and over again. Other times it is easier. Just as with my two blog posts, sometimes it is wonderful sometime’s it ain’t. HOWEVER, it will always be whatever you make it. It will always be whatever you declare it to be.

You either affirm it as a problem or affirm it as a blessing. The choice is yours. The decision is yours. Learn to make new decisions and consider more and more in your life blessings and you will create, attract and re-frame more things as blessings.

What You Think Is What You Get – What You Say Is What You Get

You and your life will become richer and more blessed. The trade off is marvelous. It is! It can be beyond glorious. You only find out, however, by putting these principles into action. To know and not do is to not know. You life becomes glorious WHEN you take action!

Enjoy and delight more. Get hooked into trauma drama and crap less, regardless of what is occurring. Refuse to name things as problems but look at them as opportunities to discover cool things and they will be. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings! It is never done.

What you SAY is what YOU GET! Say what you want it to be and it will be that! YOU ARE THE AUTHORITY – you are responsible. No one else is. Make your life the life you want! Delight in everything. Enjoy everything. Feel blessed more often and you will be. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
