You Can’t Get There If You Don’t Know Your Destination!

“You can’t get there if you haven’t set and don’t know your destination. The reason most people don’t accomplish their goals and dreams is because they want to be comfortable. They don’t want to stretch outside their comfort zone. They THINK it is too hard.

Continued from previous blog: People think it takes too much. Their limiting thoughts and beliefs, their excuses, whines and blames keep people the same. If this is you you need to change it up. Nothing will change until you change. The good news is YOU CAN CHANGE!

Yes, it takes some effort. You can’t do nothing and expect it to be different, but, even a small shift, a 1% change over time, can make an incredible difference. All you have to do is open that tiny window of possibility for change and you can. You decide to be different.

Every Day Is An Opportunity To Change Your Life For The Better

Read books. Read inspirational material that is motivational. Feed your mind a positive, healthy, mental diet each day. Walk outside and move your body. Spend some time in nature. Pick some positive affirmations and recite them frequently, with strong positive feeling.

Practice gratitude. Feel blessed. Smile more. Laugh. Even these small changes will make a big difference. Don’t bite off more than you can chew, but realize the more you do, the more you become able to do. Success breeds success and confidence. You can do it. YOU CAN! Learn to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

If You Don’t Do This You Won’t Get Ahead

“For the last 100 years, and beyond, successful people, leaders, have told us, ‘if you do this ONE thing you can succeed.’ They’ve told us there is nary a chance of success if you don’t do this. It is deemed crucial for success. If you are struggling, you haven’t done it.

You can’t get to where you want to go if you don’t know, and haven’t set, your destination. You must know where you want to head. It must be clear, concise, specific and well-defined. You absolutely should write it down and look at it numerous times, daily.

Napoleon Hill, called it your Definite Chief Aim or Purpose. Some call it your biggest goal or dream. If you want your GPS to take you to another location in your future, you need to put in the exact address to get there. If you haven’t yet done this, do it today.

You Only Need The Roadmap And The Courage To Get There

How do you clarify what you want? One way is to ask yourself, ‘what do I want?’ Write it down. Another way is to ask, ‘what do I not want?’ Then, write down the opposite. Make sure it is positively stated and doesn’t include words like’ don’t’ or ‘won’t’.

Instead of saying, ‘I won’t eat sugar,’ state what you will eat instead. ‘I will eat healthy snacks,’ or ‘I’ll have a piece of organic celery’. This tells your mind what you want and will do. You can picture eating a healthy organic snack. Eliminate, ‘don’t’. ‘I don’t want to be fat’.

Rewrite that as, ‘I will exercise for 20 minutes daily,’ or ‘I will eat healthy snacks and meals.’ Get it. Phrase it positively for what you can and will do. So write down your major goal. ‘I will make an extra 100 dollars this month’. ‘I will speak nicely and kindly to my children.’

The Journey Is The Destination Too  How You Journey Is Important

You have to know what you want. Where are you headed? Consider this: you can’t tell your GPS where you don’t want to go. NOT ONLY THAT but it would be stupid and pointless. You only want to get to one place and there are countless places you don’t want to get to.

Define your goals and dreams. Your goal or dream, your Definite Chief Purpose, must be really important to you. You must absolutely want it, or it’s unlikely you will get it. If it is just, ‘sort of’, important, you won’t go the long haul. It isn’t worth it.  Get it? I hope so.

You must think about it day and night. Look at your written goal frequently. Recite it out loud. Keep it in the forefront of your mind. You must feel good about it. Know you can make it happen. If you doubt you will, then you won’t. You must want it and feel good!

The Easiest Path To Take Is One Already Made – Model Success

It must be absolutely important. You must believe you will make it happen AND feel good, feel great, about it when you think about it. If you don’t feel good about it you won’t make it happen. I’ll share more next time to help you with this. You must feel good about it!

It is up to you and no one else. Decide you will do it no matter what. The act of writing it down helps you crystalize it in your mind. You actually begin creating it by writing it out. You take it from an idea, to on paper. From paper, the blueprint, you make it a reality. THIS IS how it works.  Be glad. Be grateful. YOUR best attitude is necessary! Your Answer To This Question Will Determine If You Can Succeed

Most people claim they are ready and willing to be happy and succeed. Most may even claim they have had enough of life the way it has been and they want it to be different. They will do anything to get out of debt, depression, anxiety and fear. BUT will they?

Will you? What most people claim and what most people do are  worlds apart. The honest answer to my question can determine the likelihood of whether or not you change AND whether you change easily. You can’t bullshit a bullshitter. So be true to yourself.

That is the most difficult thing to do, sometimes. If you really want to change you must face certain things. Here is the question: How willing are you to change? That is it. What is your willingness to change quotient. Are you actually willing to change your life?

If You Want Things To Change – You Have To Change

Okay, I asked the same question three different ways. So what is your answer? Many people say they will do anything to change, but they won’t. What about you? If you truly want your life to change you must change some things in your life. You can’t remain the same!

If you always do what you have always done, you will always get the same results. You will continue to get what you have always got. Get it? Unless you are willing to change, and actually change things, everything remains the same. You need to learn new habits. So…..

How willing are you to change? How much money will you spend? I bet some went, ‘Whoa, money! I’m not going to spend money? This will cost me? I can’t afford much. Do you know how much debt I have? It is always about money!’ Or some variation. Right. Did you?

If You Want Things To Be Better – You Have To Be Better

It always comes down to money, doesn’t it? Well, yes and no. How much time are you willing to dedicate? Someone just thought, ‘I have no time as it is!’ Or some variation. What are you willing to give up or go without? Would you give up your favorite TV show?

Would you go without your favorite show, or past time, for a year, if it meant you could get your goals and live your dream life? Would you give up junk food;  Alcohol; Tennis: Golf; Poker; Whatever it is? What are you willing to give in exchange for changing your life?

People say they are willing but, more frequently, do nothing to change. Would you read positive, books and articles and blogs for an hour each day? Would you for 30 minutes? 5 minutes? What are you willing to do? Would you listen to inspirational audios? Well?

If You want To Have More – You Have To Become More

How about you take a seminar or program. Attend a learning event or workshop. Would you commit to a weekly, or monthly, meeting? What will you do to change? The bottom line is your change IS going to cost you something! Either money, time, energy or habits.

Either you pay the price or you don’t change. Get it? You can’t do everything the same way you always have and expect things to be different. That is truly insane! Right? That IS the definition of insanity. To be different you must do things differently! Get it?

So how willing are you to do whatever it takes to get what you want? That is the question. How willing are you to change? What is your willingness? If you say you are very willing then prove it to yourself. Take some immediate action in that direction. Don’t wait. Do it.

Your Life Is A Reflection Of Your Thoughts and Feelings – Mindset

If you wait, you won’t! If you have to think about it, you won’t. Old habits die hard. Do it right now. Do it within 24 hours. That way you convince your brain you are serious about changing. Take action in the direction of the changes you want. Don’t let it go or it goes away.

People give lip service to change but make all manner of excuses. They whine, complain, and blame. They say, ‘If you only knew how hard it is…’ Blah blah blah. Anyone can make an excuse. If the first thing that goes off in your head is one, learn to change that. Do it!

You need to develop automatic, reliable, supportive thought, feeling and behavior habits, that are aligned, to help you get yourself what you want in life. We all have many that distract and keep us limited, weak, angry, doubtful and fearful. We need to change these.

So What Positive Good Will You Do To Change Your Life

When you shift from the less than supportive habits to the more supportive ones sometimes there is inertia to overcome. ‘Old habits die hard’. Still, we can change. Sometimes in some time. Sometimes instantly. But only if you are willing, can it happen. Are you willing?

How willing are you to change things, so that you transform your life for the better. I show you how in these blog pages every day. There are tips and suggestions, powerful principles and practices. Do you use and apply them? Do you go back and study these blog posts?

What do you do to make you, and your life, better? To develop a new habit you must consistently, correctly, apply yourself. That means daily, even numerous times during the day. So how willing are you to change? How committed? Be honest. Be true to yourself.

How To Live And Feel More Abundantly

“There is the story of the of the poor widow who had nothing but gave from her limited supply, versus the uber wealthy, who gave little in comparison. The widow gave generously from her meager supply. The wealthy gave stingily from their plenty. Hmmmm.

The widow is the role model for giving. She would be get back or be rewarded. That is the example set forth in the story. Giving comes from the heart not the pocket. If you want to live abundantly, you need to feel abundant. Your mindset should be on plenty not on lack.

The widow gave generously from the little she had. She is bound to get more. The wealthy ones gave little from their wealthy supply. Their hearts were more closed. Hers was more open. When you are open you are bound to discover opportunities and receive more.

Giving Opens The Way For Receiving – Enjoy Giving – Delight

At a  restaurant, do you order based on the price or by what you are hungry for. Do you get what you want or do you limit your choices by cost? When shopping do you limit yourself because you can’t afford items? When you give to others, do you limit your gifts?

There is nothing wrong with being frugal. Many millionaires live below their means. They look for bargains and discounts. Saving your money and wise investments are smart steps in becoming financially free. The wealthy don’t buy everything either.

The point is, do you feel wealthy or not? Some very rich people may not feel wealthy while some with far less may feel very rich. It is a mindset, a belief, a practice and a habit. Some people are generous givers, others withhold and are not. Abundance is a mindset!

Become A Generous Giver And An Excellent Receiver – Enjoy

Try giving more. That may mean you tip a little better. You tip more frequently. You don’t qualify your giving but give it freely. You don’t have to go nuts, you just do a little bit better than you would have. You don’t even have to give money. Give more smiles. Anything!

Give compliments. Give a hand. Help someone else. Share some tips and suggestions. Turn someone on to a new restaurant, a new shop, and new service. Give referrals. Share some tips and advice. Recommend some books or blogs. Give someone a ride. Help out!

Give of your attention. Give of your time. The point is to practice being generous, to feel good about giving. When you give, you open the doorway for getting back. Give to give. Give to put a smile on someone’s face. Give with no expectation of return. Simply give!

Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes – Feel Blessed

Give because you can, as the poor widow did. It isn’t the size of the gift. It is the heart of the giver that matters. If you give because you feel blessed and are thankful and grateful for whatever little or plenty you have, you are operating abundantly. Get it? I hope so.

You create more abundance when you feel abundance. When you feel blessed and grateful. When you enjoy life so much you want to help others feel good too. Share whatever you can share to help others move forward. Share and allow others to share with you.

A closed mind and a closed heart generates little. An open, generous mind and heart, generates a lot. This is why it is said your return is 10 times or more. What you give, can exponentially return to you. Allow it. Accept it. Receive it by giving it. Welcome it, when it returns.

Practice Abundance – Feel Like You Already Have Everything 

Practice gratitude. Inspire yourself and others. Seek to feel your best. Delight yourself. Delight others. Share. Give. Share blessings and give thanks. Enjoy assisting others because you are helping yourself too. From abundance to abundance. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You Are Governed By What You Don’t Know!

“Not everything is the same. Some things matter far more than other things. ‘Well, yes’, you say, ‘that’s obvious.’ BUT is it? Some things that are truly important, and run the show, are those things we aren’t aware of. We are governed by what we don’t know.

Not all thoughts are equal. Some are random thoughts that come and go. It is the ongoing, chronic thoughts inside, and outside, of your awareness that have the power. What are you thinking that you are not aware of? What do you repeatedly think day in and day out?

It is these thoughts that make the difference. Since, at least, the early 90’s I have pointed out that we think about 65,000 thoughts a day. Upwards of 90%, some estimate between 95-99%, of those thoughts are the same today as we thought yesterday. Imagine that.

We First Make Our Habits – Then Our Habits Make Us

There’s not much in the way of new thinking in us, is there?  You can’t track 65,000 thoughts. Most operate unconsciously, subconsciously outside of your awareness but happen reliably, automatically just the same. These are habitual thoughts. Chronically negative, too.

Habitual thoughts determine our reality. Right this instant we are right where our thoughts have brought us. Tomorrow, we’ll be where our thoughts take us. If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got. You will be the same tomorrow.

Unless you change your thinking!  If, on a scale of 1-10 your life is a ten, then you should keep doing what you are doing. However, if you are off by any number, you might want to change some things and change your life for the better. It is the only way to change!

What Unconsciously Consumes Your Mind Controls You Life

Why the photo above? The water looks lovely. In the water are countless living organisms we can’t see. They are there, living, but we don’t know. There is lots of other stuff hidden in the depths of the water. The water is teeming with things unknown and unseen.

Your habits govern you. Subconscious, chronic limited thinking keeps you limited. You must uncover, release and let go your negative thinking. You must shift your conscious, and unconscious thinking, to be mostly positive and powerful. Can’t stay the same.

You need positive, supportive thought habits. If you aren’t living the life you want, I want to help you create your best life, ever. That is why I write this blog and conduct seminars, workshops and training. You must learn to control and manage your thoughts and feelings.

You Can’t Control Behaviors If You Can’t Control Your Thoughts

When calamity, or bad situation, occurs it triggers old memories, associations, and negative neural-net habits of thought, feeling and action. You must change these to be better. You want triggers to release good, positive, powerful thoughts instead of the bad.

Gratitude is a wonderful place to begin. Become thankful for everything. Focus on gratitude. Increase it. Be thankful. Express it. Speak it and write it. Think about it and delight. Join me in deciding to make your life the best life ever. Start now. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

You’re An F’ing Creator Act Like One!

“The very act of thinking is a creative act. You imagine it. You visualize it. Whether or not you act on it, you have begun a creative process.  You initiated something and you put it out there. The more you focus on it, the more you bring it into being. You make it happen.

So, if you are worried about debt and lack, you continue to create more of it. If you are anxious and fearful about anything, you are negatively goal setting. Your continued attention causes energy to flow into that which you’d prefer to avoid and YOU make it happen.

You can’t not create. The only question is WHAT you create? Either it’s positive, supportive and something you want OR it’s not. This IS why you want to take control of your thinking process and make it work for you, instead of against you. YOU make things happen!

The More Responsibility You Take For Your Past And Present …

This IS WHY you you don’t want it to run on and on the way you have been using it, but WHY you want to learn to manage your thoughts and feelings. The first step is to take full responsibility as a creator. You create your experience. You respond or react to it.

Whether the world influences you, or whether you orchestrate all of it, doesn’t matter, because your choices determine your outcomes. Your responses or reactions determine your results. Whether you put it into action, or react to it, you are responsible for what you get.

Do you understand this? One or the other doesn’t have to be ‘the case’ or ‘the truth’ in order for you to be ‘at effect’ of the cause. When you live ‘at effect’ you don’t have much say or control. The same is true if you are creating what you don’t want. Do you get it?

… The More You Are Able To Create The Future You Desire

You don’t have to understand electricity to use it. You don’t have to believe in it for it to work, or not. It doesn’t have to be true, or not, in order to benefit or be harmed. It simply is. You simply create your world, whatever you think that to mean. Take responsibility for it.

When you do, you put yourself in the ‘at cause’ position instead of the ‘at effect’ position. You are the progenitor, the catalyst, the reason for things happening. IF THAT IS THE CASE then you can create differently, if you are wise enough to choose to. Get it?

You no longer are a victim of your thinking, you become the victor. When you accept full responsibility for everything, whether this notion is actually true or not, it puts the power back in your hands. You are where the power belongs. You are the power, not the victim.

Love The Life You Have While You Create The Life Of Your Dreams

Act like a creator. Act powerful. Decide. Act positively on your own behalf. Stop whining and blaming and excusing and start owning up. When the buck stops with you, YOU CAN do something about any situation. You can change the situation OR your attitude. Get it?

It is up to you! If you can’t change the situation, change what you think and feel about it. Find or create a way to be resourceful, anyway. Adjust and continue. Make the best of a ‘bad’ situation. Take charge. Be the victor NOT the victim. Make what you want happen!

Whether true, or a reframe, you are responsible for creating every moment of your life. When you fully realize and accept this, true magic begins to happen. Change can be instantaneous. Miraculous! Accept 100% responsibility for creating your life. Make it happen!

This Life Of Yours Is 100% Your Responsibility – Act Like It

Why the picture that accompanies this post? Well, that bale didn’t get there by itself. Someone had to decide to do it. Someone had to have previously planted. Then someone harvested. It begins with an idea and then it is translated into reality. It didn’t happen on its own.

This Determines Whether You Stay The Course Or Drop The Ball!

“Will you make it or will you flop? What will be the end result, success or failure? Is there anything you can do to make success more likely? Will you succeed or won’t you? What do you think the answer to that question is? Your success depends on your answer.

It begins, within us, as an idea we conceive of. From within, we move it, to without. We translate the idea into reality. We think, take action and get results. Napoleon Hill said, ‘What the human mind can conceive, and bring itself to believe, it can achieve.’  So we can.

Hill stated, he would not say, ‘we will achieve’ because he had no way of knowing what each individual will do or not do. Some will take action and do it. For others, it will remain a nice quote. Whether or not we succeed is up to each of us. You and I are responsible.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

You must become unstoppable. Persist in spite of any odds. Stay committed to your goal. Remain certain you will prevail. Developing and maintaining certainty is one of the secrets. So, how does one become certain? You must develop faith in yourself. Here’s how.

The process of conceiving or imagining and creating has been called ‘out picturing’. Out picturing is what allows us to manifest what we want in the outer world. It’s a fairly good description. We picture on the inside and make it happen on the outside. We out picture.

A couple of times, recently, I referred to the sculpting process.  The end result is the out picture the sculptor envisioned. To create we must remove any resistance. Much of what rises to prevent us, are our own doubts and fears. Our limiting beliefs must be dealt with.

What You Consistently Hold In Your Mind Is What You Experience

We must replace non-supportive beliefs with supportive ones. We replace limited, ‘I can’t’ thinking with ‘I can’ thinking. We do this by exposing our minds to positive material; through daily reading and listening to inspiring and motivating material. We feed our minds.

We remove limitations through reciting our affirmations, daily, numerous times, aloud, with positive, enthusiastic emotions and feelings. We use cadence, similarly to how the military uses it. We hang around with other positive ‘can do’ people. We do workshops.

We attend events. We go to recognition ceremonies and notice, those who succeed, so we can begin to think,’ if THAT person can do it, I CAN do it!’ We visualize our success and we feel as if we have already succeeded. We use the ‘act as if’ principle. All this helps.

You Life Is A Living Reflection Of What You Are Out Picturing

We keep our eyes on the prize. We clear our minds of all distractions and negative thinking by sharpening and maintaining our focus. You maintain a vivid mental picture of what it is you want. A vision board helps greatly. Keep pictures and reminders around. Look at these.

The personal goal, besides succeeding, but in creating that success, IS TO REMAIN positive about the inner world goals you have, regardless of what you encounter in the outer world. This is the secret key, no matter what you encounter, stay the course. Believe!

Remain confident. Feel certain you will accomplish your goal no matter what the universe hurls at you. The person who can do this is the person who does arrive. Release your attachment to the physical world. Let go of the outer resistance, as well as, the inner resistance.

We Become What We Think About – What We Focus On Expands

The sculptor removes whatever is not the sculpture. The sculptor chips away at the stone to release the visualized creation from within. The medium may be difficult but, through belief and persistence, the sculptor unleashes and realizes the goal. We do too.

Understand that the picture in your mind, and the positive feeling you have for it, are real! What you encounter in the world is what you encounter. HOW you respond is what makes a difference! Some buckle and whine, complain and excuse. Others make it happen.

What will you do? Can or will? It’s completely up to you! That’s why Hill said, you can achieve it, if you will conceive it and bring yourself to believe YOU are able to.  Condition yourself for success. Remove the obstacles of your own thinking and feeling. Make it happen!

What You Hold In Your Head You Can One Day Hold In Your Hand

“What we hold in our head, we can some day hold in our hand. That is a statement you may or may not be familiar with. It means we bring forth that which we picture or imagine. Without a definite plan or image we drift, results and life are haphazard. Who knows what?

So we create a strong internal image of what we want to create and focus on it daily. We make daily concentration on our image or goal a habit. This informs and trains our subconscious, our treasure chest of resources and hidden abilities, we want to make THIS happen.

Then we take the steps necessary to create it. Recently, I wrote that a sculptor gets an idea, gathers the materials, fashions the medium into the final end result. The sculptor creates it. It is the same with each of us. We concentrate on our goal and translate it into reality.

Visualizing Is Daydreaming With A Purpose

Focus daily on what you want. It can’t be a whim, it must be intense. You must be passionate about it or you won’t make it happen. Vision boards are good. It’s a poster with pictures on it of what you want to create. Put pictures on the dash of your car to remind you.

Pictures, drawings, photos around the house or work space that bring your attention back to what you want to create. Journal about it. Carry with you and read your goal statement at least twice a day or more. These help put your attention on it. Visualize it 5 minutes.

Energy flows where attention goes. Focus on your goal, intensely. Imagine being it, doing it, and having it already. Enjoy and enhance those feelings. Be grateful for this. Believe you can make it happen. Be certain you will do it. Certainty, comes in time. It really does.

Fill Your Mind With Positive  Pictures And Your Life  Will Change

If you don’t already feel certain about it, stay with it. You will develop the certainty over time. Do it! It comes through daily commitment.  Delight in the creative process. Be glad you are a creator. Take charge. Make it happen. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

To Make Room For New Things Get Rid Of The Old

“You want to create newness in your life. You want a satisfying career, more fulfilling relationships, money flowing in, and better things, right? You’d like to live the good life, a life of your dreams; made by your own design. You can. You will. If you make room.

A biblical quote attributed to Jesus reads, ‘Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.’ Think on that.

If you suddenly got a truck load of new furniture by surprise, you won it on a game show, what do you do with your old furniture? You have to move it out to make room for the new furniture, right? It only, makes sense, doesn’t it. It is obvious, right. You’d move it out.

Want Your Life To Change – You Must Change Things In Your Life

Consider this: You want a new life. What do you do with the old one? You want to be free, have fun, live abundantly, yes? Then you must make room for it. You must clear out the old, limiting beliefs, thoughts, feelings and actions to make room for the new.

Two forms of matter, furniture or thoughts, cannot occupy the same space at the same time. You need to get rid of the old. The new wine needs to take up space in new wine skins. You need to make some inner changes to have some outer changes. Change your thinking.

Rid yourself of what holds you back, that which takes up space, and prevents you from being, doing and having everything you want. If you don’t know how, you need to learn how. If you haven’t done it you must do it. Create room for your best life! Only you can.

Replace Less Than Glorious Feelings With New Supportive Ones

Do it from a positive place, not a negative one. Focus on what you want, not on what you eliminate. Promote the new, positive beliefs while letting old, limiting beliefs go. Uplift yourself, your life and the people in your life, at all times. Become more positive and optimistic.
