How To Become A Champion

“It is the consistent, persistent, daily actions that bring success in all things, your family, your health, your wealth and career, your life. Daily dedication to doing something positive moves you closer to your goal and makes all the difference.

Start with a clearly, well stated goal. One that is a passion or a ‘burning desire’ for you. See it in  your mind’s eye,  the mental images of your ultimate goal. Envision it daily (as often as possible) and infuse it with positive energy and enthusiasm. Keep at it!

Do not give up! You keep at it until you get it. This IS your daily regime. Your mental nutrition. Visualize and affirm it. Declare it yours. Imagine you are already it. Imagine you already have it. Live the future in your present. Act as if your future is right now.

Persistence Guarantees That The Results Are Inevitable

Keep your goal alive in your mind and in your sights. Keep it burning. Stay passionate and enthused. Believe in your heart and know in your head that you will have it. YOU will ATTAIN it! You will make it happen because you will never give up. You will see it through!

Once you quit, it is over.  So you must not stop. Keep the faith.  Keep going no matter what is going on, or not going on, around you. Do not let present circumstances distract you from getting to your end game. Champions do. this.  Their mindset is everything!

Keep this goal burning hot in your mind. Focus on things to be grateful for. Feel good about your progress. When you do, you are opening up your mind to discovering greater opportunities, events, situations and people that can help you to reach your goal.

Champions Keep Playing Until They Get It Right – Keep Playing

Your mind awakens and you can think more clearly and easily about how you will make it happen. You form plans using your creativity, your intuition and your smarts. You may have to adjust the plan as you go along but  that is just part of the process.

Each day you move forward and make adjustments as necessary, but no matter what you keep moving forward toward your ultimate destination. This is how champions condition themselves. They develop their mental powers and take charge of their lives.

YOU WILL GET THERE as long as you keep going toward it. No matter how long it takes, or how many detours there happen to be, you will get there if you just never stop! When you can be truly thankful for all that you have in your life, when you appreciate it fully, something inside you changes. It as if you wake up. Something inside you awakens. You become more aware. You become conscious. Everything becomes new!

Once you live in gratitude you find much more to include. You discover more to feel happy about and thankful for. You make more room in your life for all good things to begin to come your way. You see with new eyes. Your heart sings a new song.

Happiness Is Whatever You Decide It To Be – Live Well

Each moment becomes a blessing. You open up.  You allow and become receptive. You are accepting, receiving, inviting, while giving thanks. It is really amazing how your life can change when you become filled with thankfulness. ‘Thank You’ are magic words!

In thankfulness allow yourself to be. Enjoy! Delight in the small and the large miracles in your life. Celebrate yourself. Delight in being you. Rest in who you are. Trust who you are.  Allow your self to simply be open. Allow wonderful things to find you. Receive all.

Make it a point only to find those things and those moments you appreciate. Do so fully! Take a walk, visit a special friend, take in the sights, have a special meal, take a bath or a nap but do something that makes you feel more wonderful. Celebrate everything.  ” Rex Sikes

Discover Your Power To Decide

“Part 6. Guess what? Every moment I learned, I could choose. Sometimes, things came up that would have previously caused me to feel bad and I chose not to. Some things came up and I found myself feeling bad and thinking less than glorious thoughts.

However, when I realized what I was doing, I’d steer my thinking and feeling back to finding the good. I’d choose to begin celebrating and appreciating and being positive. Every second is a choice point anyway. Most of us just live as if we haven’t any choice. We’re stuck.

For me, it became a daily duty. It is a matter of becoming more aware, more conscious, and deciding that you deserve the best of everything. You deserve to think the best thoughts and have the best feelings and get the best results. It is all your choice! Get it?

Skill Comes Of Doing – The More We Do The More We Can Do

I found it got easier and easier. The more we do the more capable we become. It’s a conditioning process. Lifting 25 pounds may, at first, be difficult, but the more you do it, the easier it becomes. You build strength and you build habit. You create momentum too!

There were longer periods of time when I felt wonderful. The down times got shorter. I got better at recognizing when I was wallowing or serving myself well. I noticed feelings of joy and happiness and awe I’d not experienced before. Life became better and better!

I decided to treat myself as God would have me be treated. Okay, I know some will bristle here, because of whatever beliefs you may have, but I decided if there is a God, and God wants the best for me, why shouldn’t I want the same for myself. Do you get this point?

If You Really Want To Do Something You Will Find A Way

I deserve to have all the wonderful things. Attitude is everything. Attitude determines your altitude. Mindset and perception is all the is! I utilize frames of mind that make life easier, even more wonderful, while many are stuck trapped with bad frames of mind.

I discovered that the wonderful things don’t come from having more things. It comes from being more wonderful. It comes from having less stress, depression, anxiety, anger, frustration. It comes from taking the bull by the horns and deciding to do something for myself.

Living well comes from doing what is needed to live well. Then keep on doing it no matter what. I decided I would  never ever quit, nor give up. If I had to boot strap it I would. If the going got tough if I had to be tough. I would get going. I’d be positive and do what it takes.

If You Don’t Want To Do Something You’ll Find An Excuse

I decided that the end result was worth the price, whatever that price was, I had to pay. AND it is! I am getting so much more back than I pay for. It is incredible! You can too. It is up to you and no one else. No one can live or choose for you. You must decide. I hope you choose to love yourself, life and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

To Get Stellar Results Discover Your Power Is To Choose!

My life transformed. Part 5. I learned that regardless of what was going on I could decide how to feel and think about it. I was the one in charge. Just be cause bad things happened I didn’t have to chose to be unhappy. I had lived that way for years, without choice.

Now, I began to exercise my choices. When I became the person who chose what to think and feel, everything changed for me. I was clearer in my thinking, I enjoyed each moment more. I found more delight in simple things. I felt better. I was open to more things.

I discovered opportunities I might not have otherwise. I met new people and engaged in new activities. It was as if a whole new world opened up. It was absolutely worth it to begin this process. It is a journey. Beginning it changed everything. It kept getting better!

Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge

It all begins with awareness and choice. I became aware that things weren’t working, that they hadn’t been working, and decided I needed to change. I chose to implement a daily ritual which was centered on awareness, choice and shifting from neg to positive.

Everything begins this way. There is magnificent power in becoming aware and making a decision. A decision is a choice I committed to making work. I decided, do or die, I would do this and see it through. In that instant everything began changing. And keeps getting better.

Everything has changed for the better. Speed bumps along the way have been blessings because I chose to look at them this way. As I did I noticed things I would have never noticed and became capable of living in ways I never ever had before. It became glorious. Freeing!

What You Can Conceive And Believe You Can Achieve

Anyone can do this. Anyone, even you, can begin right now! I’ll share more next time, but realize to not decide, is to already have made a decision. Choose life over death. Choose positivity over negativity. Choose awareness. Choose to take control and make your life grand!

Everything changes and gets better and better when you do. Choose to look at everything as a blessing. Choose to find the lesson and opportunity in adversity. Choose to realize all hardship is only temporary. Choose to find the good. Choose to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Make The Most Of Your Life

“Part 4 in this series. I create the future I want to manifest. This was an incredible leap forward for me. Instead of living life looking back, I started looking ahead. Instead of letting things happen to me, I decide what I wanted to have happen. I took control of myself!

I took control of my mind, my life and the results I was getting. Instead of driving down the road looking in the rearview mirror, I began to focus on my destination and how pleasantly I could get there. I decided, I shouldn’t ignore the present that would be silly.

I just don’t have to react to it as if I were a Pavlovian dog salivating to a ringing bell. I decided I would celebrate and appreciate the present. To do this I had to think that it was worth it even when it may not seem that way. I’d look for the good within the bad.

Mind Stretch To A New Idea Never Returns To Original Dimension

I made it a point to look for whatever good I could find in whatever was going on and I would accentuate it. If I experienced calamity and problems, I’ d find whatever was good in the situation and accentuate that. Anyone can learn to do this. Even the reader!

Certainly, accentuating the problem or bad feelings didn’t make me think, feel or do any better. Focusing on the good did. I learned I could chose what I paid attention to. Even if my first thought was to find the bad, my second thought became,  ‘what is good about this?’

I learned I could direct my thinking. I found as I did this things changed for me. No, not over night but gradually. I became a different person. I became positive, confident, happy, free, and powerful. Things that would have bothered me no longer did.

Skill To Do Comes From Doing – You Get What You Focus On

I became more flexible. I could adapt more easily. I got much better results than I had. I didn’t try to change the world around me, which is what many people attempt to do. Instead, I changed myself and discovered when I did, the world, somehow responded too.

The coolest thing was and is, even if nothing changed in outer reality, other than me and my relationship to reality, actually everything did change. It’s kind of like nothing changed BUT everything changed. That may be a difficult sentence or concept to grasp right now.

So I’ll share more next time. For now. Focus on the good and the new. Focus on what you are grateful for and appreciate about you, your experience, the people around you, and all circumstances. Mine for the gold and dig for the diamonds. They may be difficult to find at first but keep looking. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Begin To Transform Yourself!

“Continued from the last post. Number 3 in the series. I decided I need to change what I paid attention to. I realized FINALLY, that the past was over and whether it was good or bad there was nothing I could do about it now. This is a mind blowing realization for some.

I could enjoy my present or not. I could plan my future or not. I could not do one thing about changing the past. It was over. I could change my response to it. I could change where I place my attention. I didn’t have to let the old days control me. I realized I could be in charge.

I set my focus on what I wanted my future to be. I began to think that where I am today is a result of everything I thought and felt and did or didn’t do in the past. My today is a product of my previous thinking. I am where I am because I created it.

You Are Where Your Previous Thoughts Have Brought You

It didn’t matter to me, and it still doesn’t, whether any of this is true or not. It doesn’t have to be true. It really doesn’t. What it is, is useful. It is a frame of mind that I adopted. I choose the frame to be able to have more control over what the results are in my life.

True or not I don’t care. I decided to focus on where I want to be and create that instead. I focus on what I want. I stay focused on that regardless of what is going on now. I imagine my future and  how I want it to be. I have it all in place. I imagine I already have it. Its mine.

This is what I concentrate on throughout each day. You can too! You can shift from what was, or what is not so great right now, to creating a glorious future. You can begin right now.  Start by focusing on what is good now. What in the present can you enjoy? What can you be grateful for? Put your mind on these things and you will transform. Learn to celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

These Changes You Can Make Will Create An Incredible Difference!

“Some day I will take another form whatever that may be. I will no longer walk the planet. I won’t be around to comment on whether events are good or bad, right or wrong. They will go on without my commentary or criticism. Just as they did before I arrived here.

Since that’s the case why should I waste my time judging now? Isn’t there a better, a wiser, use of my time? Wouldn’t I be better off not digging in despair whether the events are personal or global? Life is short. Instead of labeling events good or bad, is there another way?

Life is way, way too short, as far as I am concerned, so I want to find a way to maximize the little time on the globe as best I can. Years ago, I decided that if I was going to live on the planet I deserved to live in paradise. Whatever the situation is I wanted it to be paradise.

Life Is Too Short Not To Enjoy It And Celebrate Everything

I found, when I told others this, many said it was not possible given the world and current state of affairs. They’d say things like, ‘well there will always be suffering’. They said many things and I heard from many people through the years.

Their attitude seemed to be, ‘ life is short, you struggle, try to be happy live a good life, hurt no one and die. Then hope there is an afterlife and that you may be rewarded’. I knew this is not the way I want to go through my days. If they wished to that was up to them.

Not I. It took me some time, a lot of time actually, but one day I decided to decide how I wanted to think about things. I decided, whether it is accurate or not, that I create my experience. There is alot scientific supporting the premise that we create our reality.

Why Give Up Your Time On Earth Feeling Down And Out

Regardless, of whether it is true or not, I decided that I create my experience. I determined I had created a lot of crap in my life and some good things. I looked at me, my life, and it occurred to me that I always got what I wanted and what I thought about. I really did.

My worst fears often came true. If I was anxious or depressed about something it was harder to move through the world. If I worried about money I never seemed to have enough. Perhaps, it was a chicken and egg thing, and I wasn’t sure what came first.

Did I not have money so I worried about it or because I worried about money I never had any. I wasn’t certain, but I decided not to care. I decided that I would control my thinking. I would endeavor to think the best about myself, my circumstances, and my future.

Let Go – Have Fun – Discover The Blessings And Celebrate

I’d think positively about the people around me, my  family, friends, and even strangers. I would strive to maintain a positive focus. I would concentrate on finding the good in everything as much as I am able. I would find the best in everything and everyone.

It was not always easy. It still isn’t always easy. Sometimes there are challenges and it seems like I may lose my way. I get sidetracked or off course, caught up, and I forget what is important and I get hooked. At some point I realize, that too, is my decision.

It’s  like a guilty pleasure, but without the pleasure part. You know, when you know you shouldn’t be doing something but you do it anyway. Whatever it is,  maybe you shouldn’t have that extra helping but you just have to, or you sneak an extra piece of chocolate.

You Go Where Your Thoughts Take You – Manage Your Thoughts

You feel guilty. Maybe, guilty isn’t exactly the right word.  It isn’t guilt sometimes it is just that you just know there is a better way of being or thinking or behaving.  It is like that, at some point, I become aware that I am off base and I need to get back on.

I know it is up to me.  Sometimes I don’t feel like correcting myself, but I do it anyway (because I have since learned how to). I course correct. There is so much incredible power in learning how to shift from the negative to the positive. It is absolutely freeing!

I learned, just because things are going on around me that are not to my liking, even if everything is crumbling, I do not have to think negative thoughts, or feel bad or respond as I would have in the past. That was something else i did a lot of.  I used to live in the past.

Live In The Present – Celebrate – Learn To Be Here Now

I used to aggrandize  the good old days and lament what was or what never came to be. I gave that up to. I developed a plan to change myself. I create daily rituals. I put my attention, focus, energy and time on thinking better and feeling better. AND IT WORKED.

I’ll share more in the next post. If you are a regular reader you know how important these things are. You understand mindset comes first and determines how we feel, behave and the results we get. You know if you want better results manage your mindset. BOOM!

That is what you must do. Gratitude is a powerful way to shift your focus and feel better. Focusing on what is good, new and different in this moment brings you back to the moment where you can count your blessings, feel good about everything, validate yourself and celebrate. Mindset Matters: How To Develop The Best Mindset!

“For some of us it is difficult to believe there is good in everything. For some, it seems there is just no good to go around. They think and experience life as difficult. For them, bad things happen. Perception is everything. There is also self-fulfilling prophecy. So heads up!

Consider this. Before humans walked the planet events came and went. Some days were gorgeous. Some filled with calamity. Whatever happened, happened. There was no one to label it, to judge it, to call it good or bad. Things occurred. What is IS.

Not judging is not the same as avoiding or ignoring. Things happen and require attention. It is the mindset one has, or uses, to go through it, that makes all the difference in the world. If it is a calamity we feel differently than if it is an annoyance.

Let Go – Relax – Drop It – Breath – Allow – Accept – Be Open

What we think and say determines how we feel and behave. If we think it ‘terrible’ we react from that mindset and from that set of emotions. If it is just another situation to discover opportunity and lessons, even if tough, we react or respond in another fashion.

When we label or judge less, when we don’t set ourselves up for the worst by calling it as such, we are more apt to be clear headed and resourceful. We don’t get overwhelmed with negative thoughts and emotions and are better equipped to resolve it positively. Get it?

Mindset determines how we approach the world around us. This is why Henry Ford said, ‘if you think you can or you think you can’t you are right!’ To behave and live more enjoyably, to experience more of the good life, we must see life as good first and enjoy it first.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

We get back what we put out. Concentrate on positivity and optimism. Focus on finding opportunity everywhere, even during adversity and you are more likely to discover it. Emphasize that which helps you think, feel and behave positively and powerfully.

Find blessings around you. Look at the abundance of all good things. Look for what is good. Seek to be filled with awe, and with appreciation and gratitude. Life changes, and so do you, when you activate your attitude. Learn to stop judging, let go, enjoy more and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Understand And Utilize The Learning Curve

“Each person, the learner, needs to realize there is a learning curve. As you go through it you need to take time and relax. Enjoy the process of learning. You may be learning something you never knew or have done before. Be gentle on yourself. You are a newbie.

When learning adopt the attitude that it will be fun, there may be speed bumps but you can get over those easily. Stop pressuring yourself to be perfect doing something you never have before. Cut yourself some slack. Go easy. Stay with it. Play with it. Enjoy!

Whenever you do the correct things, repeatedly, consistently, for long enough, you begin to make that a habit. What I just described is the process of habit formation whether you intend to create one or not. Everyone of us has gone through this process infinite times.

The More We Do The More We Become Capable Of Doing

We develop the neural pathways of thought, feeling and behavior through repetition. Trying to stop a habit is difficult. Replacing one habit for another is much easier. It still requires the same process to learn the new habit so be patient. Be persistent. Relax and allow it.

When you go through the process of deliberately choosing a new mindset you’ll discover new ways of being opening up to you. When you first start the process of change all your former habits revolt attempting to keep you the same. It happens to everyone. Relax.

Recognize this and relax!  it is a good sign. It truly is. The barriers and walls and blocks will eventually crumble. The fact that they are fighting with you means you are on the precipice of change. There is the saying ‘old ways die hard’. They’ll fight. You’ll win if you persist.

Children Learn So Much More Through Play And Pretend

Stop responding the old way! Begin responding the new way. Yes, it takes commitment but it is worth it. It happens more quickly the more you accept the process. Don’t fight the process. Just stop! Negative thoughts or feelings will arise as you move forward.

Keep moving forward. Shift away from the negative. Focus on the positive. DO THOSE things that help you feel a bit better. Develop success habits. The only way you develop them is to do them over and over again until they become supportive reliable habits.

Keep the faith. Enjoy the process even when it isn’t enjoyable!! Think of it as  building your mind and will as you would build your body. Regular routine nutrition and exercise, long enough until you get the results you want. Then, it gets easier and is maintenance.

Notice It – Own It- Play With It – Stay With It – Make Learning Fun

Play with the things I’ve offered you. Begin by mastering the basics. That takes time. Yes, it takes commitment and effort. Nothing is free! If you want heat from the wood stove you need to cut the wood and put it in the stove and light the fire prior to getting heat.

So when you notice yourself thinking or feeling less than glorious, stop, breath and shift your thoughts and your physiology to something more productive and positive. Move, walk, sing, dance, smile. Think positive and keep thinking positive. Stay with this.

Stick with it. Keep at it. Let go and relax and have fun. I promise you IF you did nothing but made gratitude a habit and celebrated your life, moment to moment, most, if not all, issues would resolve, as if by magic. IT ISN’T magic. It is you doing it!

Only You Can Do It – No One Can Do Or Decide For You

The world may still hurl crap at you but you become different and learn to respond differently. SO stop thinking you need to get or be somewhere else. The destination is not the goal. Learning how to enjoy the journey right now, this moment, is the only goal you have.

Take care of the present and the rest will take care of itself. Live with passion and positivity. Enjoy this second. Celebrate it even when it seems hard. THAT is WHAT IS! That is the moment. You can enjoy it or choose not to, but that is what life offered right now. I suggest you transform yourself by leaning to celebrate. When you do YOU transform. So celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Old School Way Works Powerfully!

“Some readers may be old enough to recall a particular punishment or learning method applied when they were young and at school. You were told to write 100 times ‘I will not talk during class’. ‘I will not tease Sally.’ ‘I will not fight on the playground.’ Remember this?

If you ever had to write it out, most probably you will. Repetition is the very effective way we learn new behaviors, create habits and extinguish old, negative behaviors by replacing them. Repetition works wonders. It is proven to work, without question.

What is questionable are the instructions as listed above. We have known for many, many decades, that the brain does not process a negative but works only with affirmative commands. What do I mean? I mean the ‘not’ isn’t noticed in the sentence or command.

Don’t Think Of A Blue Elephant Wearing A Pink Hat

While we can understand what is intended and operate on it, it takes a few extra brain steps to do so. Think of it this way. If the brain ignores the word ‘not’ or ‘don’t what does it notice, remember and act on. Imagine this sentence, ‘Don’t forget your watch!’

If ‘don’t’ is eliminated or ignored, what is left? ‘Forget your watch!’ If you say, ‘I will not talk in class.’ What is remembered if ‘not’ is ignored? ‘I will talk in class’. You know you are not supposed to but what do you write 100 times over and over. ‘I will talk in class.’

That is not the complete sentence, but the ‘not’ is ignored. So, ‘I wont tease Sally.’ or ‘I won’t fight (or will not) fight during recess’ emphasizes the very behavior you want the child, or person, to eliminate or avoid doing. So what should they write instead?

Affirm What You Want – State It Positively – Focus Focus Focus

If you want them to do a particular behavior or learn something positively phrase it. Say or write, ‘I will remember to take my watch.’ ‘I will treat Sally nicely and with respect.’ ‘I will sit quietly and pay attention during class.’ ‘I will be friendly and play nice during recess.’

Get it? Affirm what you want and stop affirming what you do not want. State things in the positive. ‘I am confident.’ or ‘I am learning to be confident.’ Or ‘I am in the process of becoming more confident.’ Get it? Say what YOU WANT to manifest. BECAUSE…

Whatever you say is what you get! If you say, ‘This will be tough.’ you are setting yourself up for it to be difficult. If you say, ‘I have trouble remembering names,’ guess what you have difficulty with? Say what you want. Mean what you intend to mean. Drop negative phrasing.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Take You – You Create Your Reality

When you do so much becomes easier. You may say well, ‘That’s hard. I have difficulty phrasing things positively.’ Yes, in fact you do. You just said so. You affirmed and validated it. OKAY, so what if it is tough? Do you really want to stop there or would you like to change?

If you want to change, you could say, “It was difficult for me to think positively about myself but I am in the processes of learning to think powerful, positive new thoughts about me.’ ‘Each time I affirm that I am wonderful I begin to believe it a little bit more.’ Get it? Do it!

Start phrasing things, describing things, talking about and thinking about things in positive terms of what you want to create, make happen, manifest or attract. Eliminate that which you want to avoid, or eliminate. Get it? “Yes, I am beginning to understand this!’

Learn To Aim Your Thoughts And Language At What You Want

‘I am in the process of learning how to speak positively. I am beginning to speak only to bless, heal and prosper myself and others. I am learning to only discuss what I want to enjoy more of. I am in the process of discovering I create my reality by what I think and say.’

Get it? You can do this. Affirm what you want. Drop the rest. Look for the good and that which you can be grateful for and emphasize these things, people, and moments. Take the sting out of circumstances by deliberately choosing where and what to focus on. Look for the blessings and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
