Guidelines For Getting Along With Others While Talking

“Here are a few tips and principles that will help improve you ability to connect and communicate with another person. Stay open and positive. Don’t label the other person as a poor or bad communicator.  Don’t judge them that only makes things worse.

Assume you are missing the point rather than judging them. Take responsibility for listening better. Blaming them won’t help. If you change what you are doing it might. Stay open.  Assist them in being clearer. With your help you may create better understanding.

Everything depends on your intent as a communicator. Are you seeking to understand or ridicule. If you make judgements and insist they change to suit you it actually inhibits the process. You shut down and it is more difficult for them. Don’t let emotions get in way.

Not Everyone Thinks The Way You Think Or Knows What You Do

Make it easier for the listener.  Help the communicator be clearer if able. Ask simple questions politely to help them clarify their points. Gently and patiently bring it out of them. Elicit it gradually. Take responsibility for making the process go nicely for both of you.

A frame you can adopt to help you is to assume they don’t know any better. They can’t help but do it the way they are doing it. It isn’t their fault and they aren’t bad. It is just the way it is. Imagine helping a small child to do something well. Encourage them along.

The goal in communicating is to build a bridge between parties. It is to learn to speak the other person’s language rather than insisting they speak yours. While it might be nicer if they did it your way be the bigger person and adapt to them. Be flexible. Be a chameleon.

Not Everyone Believes What You Believe Or Acts As You Act …

Change what you are doing so you can get along with more people. If you only have one way of doing something you are limited in the number of people you can influence. If you adapt and help make the process enjoyable you win more friends. Make them feel at ease.

Help them feel comfortable speaking with you and they will want to do it again. Make gentle and direct eye contact. Listen intently and once in a while repeat back to them what they said so they know you are listening. Do the same if you want them to be clearer.

Repeat and ask them what is meant. Always be polite and respectful. Nod and ‘uhhuh’ or say ‘yes’ also once in awhile. Don’t stare. Talk less and listen more but don’t be completely silent looking like you are in trace. Engage, be appealing. Smile, encourage them to talk more.

Remember This And You Will Get Along With A Lot More People

Ask questions but don’t interrogate. Don’t ask so many they feel they are being put to a test. Give them some room to be themselves. Often it is best to sit next to them than opposite them. Or sit t the corner of a table rather than across from each other.

I’ll share more as we continue. For now implement what you learn. Action is the proper fruit of knowledge. Expect to have a nice time. Mentally shower them with love or gratitude or peace. Your outer behavior does reflect your inner behavior, whether it is positive or negative, so keep it positive. Enjoy communicating and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Get People To Do What You Want!

“Are there people in your life getting along with seems impossible? Would you like to help them understand you better? Do you argue more than you want to? Would you like to be more influential? Want to more easily and readily get others to do what you want?  Do you?

The goal of communication is understanding. Most of us think it is only to inform.  We inform each other of our intentions or what is going on. We think, since we  ‘communicated’ or spoke our thought or piece the other should understand and respond appropriately.

Good communication is more than telling the other person what ‘is’. Good communicating involves delivering the message in the manner the intended recipient can understand it. You make certain it is  well understood, clarify it as necessary and listen openly all the while.

Communication’s Biggest Problem – The Illusion It’s Taken Place

If it is not understood the sender must adjust the message until the receiver ‘gets it’. This means being flexible and having more than only one way to speak or communicate ideas. This means communicating the way the receiver is used to getting messages.

It doesn’t mean getting angry, raising our voice, yelling at or name calling the listener ‘stupid’ because the person doesn’t understand. It means attempting to help the receiver understand by being respectful and helpful. This is where the Platinum Rule comes in.

The Golden Rule is marvelous! It should always be applied. ‘Do unto others the way you prefer to have things done unto you.’ That is a guideline for not mistreating others. Think about your preferences and don’t do less for other people. It is a wonderful rule to follow.

The Most Important Thing In Is To Hear What The Other Is Saying

Go The Extra Mile is another fantastic principle that states don’t just do the job but go above and beyond what is called for. Deliver more value than any one else. Blow their socks off by doing more than they expect. This is another wonderful rule to practice daily in all.

The Platinum Rule states ‘Do unto others the way they prefer to be done unto’. In other words do it their way. Do it the way they like. Do it the way they are used to. This is important especially when communicating. Help them understand by speaking their language.

If someone speaks another language than you speak, if you really want understanding, then attempt to speak in their language. They don’t understand yours. Don’t make them try. You speak theirs. You are delivering the message help them understand. Get it. Go first!

Good Communication Means Respecting Yourself And Others

It doesn’t help to raise your voice. It doesn’t help to get frustrated or mad or blame them because they don’t understand the language you are speaking. It doesn’t help to ridicule or give up. It helps if you adjust and attempt to phrase it meaningfully for them.

Speak their language! Adjust and continue. Continue to adjust until you get the desired results. Adjust and continue until they understand. Don’t berate them. Be patient. Allow them their misunderstanding. After all they are trying to understand YOU!

In a few series of upcoming posts we will explore how to better and more easily communicate. If you want friends, co-workers, lovers and even strangers to better and more easily understand you, and get along with you, then it is worth learning to communicate better.

Listen More – Speak Less – Seek To Find Out Their Point Of View

The more you are able to express yourself the more you are apt to get agreement. The more agreement you get the easier and the more people you are able to positively influence. The better the understanding the greater the harmony and the relationships.

Enjoy and delight the opportunity we have to share ideas. Be grateful you have a means to do that. Appreciate that you have people in your life willing to listen and even ‘put up’ with you. How To More Easily Keep Your Resolutions!

“Do you make resolutions? Are there things you want to accomplish in the coming year? Have you had some difficulty in past years keeping your resolutions? Read on I’ll share with you how can you most easily keep doing those things you resolve to do.

The simple definition for the word resolute is admirably purposeful, determined and unwavering. It is the time to be resolute. For some reason we like landmark dates. The 7th year isn’t as meaningful as the 10th year. The New Year means more than March 3rd.

Silly us. You and I can make resolutions anytime! Anytime is a good time to resolve to do something that is positive and beneficial for ourselves and others. We need not wait till the end or beginning of the week or year. Yes, it’s easier to keep track but we can begin now.

Immature Mind Hops Around – Mature Mind Follows Through

We make promises to ourself that we hope to keep. Therein is the rub. We don’t make a resolution by hoping.  We make a resolution by committing. We are to be are purposeful, determined and unwavering? Is that you? If no then maybe you need some help.

First off what is your big resolution? I will go to the gym this year, everyday for an hour and lose 50 pounds. Fantastic! Will you keep it? If there is any doubt, if you waver in thinking about it what is the likelihood you will keep it? It would be better to chunk it down.

It would be better to say I will exercise 5 minutes every day. Yes, it could be more but make it reasonable and something you can do with or without the gym. I will walk more and sit less. Each time I get up to pee I will rebound for a minute.  Add exercise into your day.

No Matter How You Feel Get Up Dress Up Show Up Never Give Up

Build gradually and add more. Each time you do put a star on a piece of paper where you can see it. Yup, a star like the kind you may have received when a child. Pick your color. Or cross off each day on a calendar. At the end of 7 days gift yourself in a small way.

Give yourself a reward. Maybe go to the movie. Get a massage or pamper yourself in some healthy way. Enjoy some time with friends. Every day notice the sequence of consistent stars or Xs and resolve not to break the sequence. Keep it going!  This can work wonders.

Resolve to eat one healthy food and one less junk food. Resolve to get up 5 or 10 minutes earlier without the snooze button. Resolve to meet one new person a week. Resolve to smile more. Resolve to add more laughter and delight. Aim at what you want and make it simple.

Commitment Means Staying Loyal To What You Said You Will Do

Work toward the large goal in steps tiny enough to do every day but not so small they are boring or insignificant. Notice your progress by keeping track visually. Don’t break the sequence! Reward yourself every so often. Find an accountability partner to keep you on track.

Realize that champion athletes frequently don’t feel like training or conditioning but they do it anyway. They delay instant gratification for the larger reward. The prize is important enough to them to do this. Plus, they often find a coach or teammate to work with.

Having support or an accountability partner to inspire you, to compete with, to mutually assist in your goals and resolutions will help a lot. Sometimes keeping a commitment to a friend is more important to us than keeping promises to ourselves.  That is good.

It Is The Follow Through That Makes The Difference – Keep Going

However, keep promises to yourself too! If you say you will do something positive and good follow through on it. Make your word the law. Develop mental toughness. Bootstrap it. Get serious enough with yourself that you do it regardless. Chant positive affirmations.

Create a powerful mantra you declare to see you through. When the mind is right all the rest follows. If you are lazy and procrastinate you need to get your mind in order first. Your feelings will follow your thoughts and your actions stem from your feelings. Get it?

Keep in mind when you get in a boat to go sailing. Even if you have no final destination. You just are going to lazy about sail. You really do. You actually don’t just drift about unless you purposefully  take your hands of the rudder and sail and lie back to drift. Understand?

No Limits On Anything  The More You Dream The Farther You Get

You decide each moment which way to go. You also know at some point you’ll head back to the dock. You are always deciding and doing even when you don’t realize you are. You make decisions each second of the day. Learn to make your decisions serve you.

Deadlines are important too.  Again, chunk it down but keep it interesting. Instead of saying I’ll clean the whole house by Friday. . Say I will clean the kitchen counter this morning for 20 minutes or 10 minutes. In the afternoon do another set or pick something else.

Decide to sneak up on it and do it. In order to change you must leave your comfort zone sometime. Procrastination and laziness is staying within your zone of comfort. If you want to make your life different you will have to make some changes or it will remain the same.

Keep Your Head Up Your Heart Strong Wear Your Invisible Crown

Commit. Remember to be resolute means admirably purposeful, determined and unwavering. A resolution is defined as a firm decision to do or not do something. Whatever you are resolute to do don’t stop. Keep going! Don’t break the sequence. Keep on going!

Step by step you get there. Have fun. Enjoy it! Be committed to it. Make your word the law. Keep your promises to you and others. Delight and reward yourself for your progress. Celebrate doing it and your progress. Be thankful to do it. All helps you move forward.

Have a blessed new time keeping your promises! May you make all your dreams come true. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Experts Reveal: You Are Missing Out And You Don’t Even Know It!

“You don’t know what you don’t know! You can’t know what you miss and do not notice. It is obscured from your view. If you can’t see it you won’t have seen it. I hope you get this important point. Many people walk around with blinders on. Actual blinders of perception.

Research points out that your (our) Reticular Activating System (RAS) looks for matches in your experience and your history that mirrors your internal world. As within so without. Whatever you focus on is what you get. Whatever you don’t focus on you miss.

This is an incredible point to understand. There are opportunities all around you. Opportunities exist all the time. People all over the world are taking advantage of opportunities YOU do not see. Opportunities you CANNOT see. Opportunities you keep missing!

What You See And Hear Depends On The Kind Of Person You Are

You are missing opportunities day and night. In every aspect of your life. Your thinking determines what you are able to notice. How open minded or closed minded you are determines what you will discover and entertain. Most of us are closed minded in many ways.

One of the ways is conscious and is based on our previous conditioning and conclusions we come to as a result. We see this in the political and religious arenas a lot. Both sides believe they are right and have a monopoly on the truth and correct action.

Another way is simply by not paying attention. We are hooked into what is going on around us by what we think about going on inside us. We are focused on problems, debts, and  issues that occupy our thoughts and our time. We focus on lack and limitations.

If Our Perceptual Doors Were Cleansed Everything Would Appear

Both of these ways means we obviously will miss out on what else might be there. The first because we refuse to accept that there is any value elsewhere. The second because our focus narrows down and spotlights problems. We literally shut off peripheral seeing.

The last way I will cover in this post are our distractions. We are distracted and do not focus on what we want. We wish and hope some but mostly pay attention to daily life needs, the internet news, taking selfies, and doing things that don’t add up to very much.

It isn’t that we shouldn’t do them but we forgo putting our energy into where it counts most. We need to focus on what we want and make it a burning desire to the exclusion of everything else. We do this until our brain grabs it and runs with it. When it does voila’!

Be Thankful For What You Have And You’ll End Up Having  More

Our subconscious, our RAS, looks for matches that are most important to us. It looks for opportunities. You begin to notice them as you do other models of cars, just like the one you bought. I bought a PT Cruiser. I rarely noticed them until I did. Now I see dozens daily.

You don’t know what you don’t know. You aren’t aware of what limits you that you aren’t able to see. The best to do is focus on what you want so you are able to recognize opportunities to help you make that happen. You have to open and focus your mind.

Stop missing out all the good stuff. Start taking advantage of everything that exists out there for you. If you think the world is limited you will find plenty of limitations. If you think it is abundant and filled with all sorts of incredible things you will find that too.

Every Man Takes His Own Limits As The Limits Of The World

Your world is actually what you make it. What you think it to be OR what you don’t think is to be! Of course, what you don’t think you won’t know you aren’t thinking it. It is a loop for certain. Think the thoughts that bring you the best. Think the best thoughts!

This is HOW it works. If you think, ‘nah can’t be right’. YOU will be correct in that. For YOU it won’t be right. IT will not work until YOU change your thoughts from how it can’t to thoughts of how it can. Whether you think you can or can’t you are right. Get it?

It is simple and straightforward. Either your thoughts serve you or they do not. Choose to think and focus more on ones that serve and support you and you will find more opportunities and resources. It actually works that way. Open up! Get your brain working for you!

The Eyes See Only What The Mind Is Prepared To Comprehend

Gratitude is another way you find opportunity. Count your blessings and you will find more blessings to count. You will find things you didn’t recognize or realize were blessings and benefits. They are there. You just missed them by being caught up in other things. Stop. Become grateful. Your world will change in incredible, mind blowing ways. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Knowing Comes From Doing: The More You Do The More You Can Do!

“To know and not to do is to not know. Anyone who tells you something will or will not work and that person has not done it, truly does not know. Listen to those who have done what you want to and who have started out as you have started out. This is important.

When choosing a mentor of guide it is important the person began like you began. If they came from wealth and you didn’t they shouldn’t be your mentor. If you want to play basketball and they haven’t they shouldn’t be your mentor.  Get it?

Do not listen to people who haven’t done what you want to do if they haven’t done it. Naysayers are plentiful. Don’t even listen to yourself. It is easy to say no. It makes a difference to actually attempt to do something and follow through until it is done.

Thoughts Lead To Feelings Lead To Actions Lead To Results

When I was younger I didn’t think autosuggestions or affirmations worked. They certainly did not for me. I couldn’t get them to try as I might. I’d try and give up. Then I’d try and give up. The same sort of thing many do when wanting to quit smoking. Try and stop trying.

I thought it doesn’t work. Maybe it works for others but not for me. I was either too smart or too stupid to get it to work. I didn’t know how. There was a hidden secret. Others were just better and I not good enough. I had reasons, blames, excuses and complaints.

Other people today will tell you they tried it and it doesn’t work. They are not experts. They are people who gave up. Am I too harsh? Perhaps, or perhaps not harsh enough. Losers complain while winners celebrate. If they can’t succeed no one should succeed.

If You Do Nothing There Will Be No Result – Take Action

Do not let anyone rain on your parade. Not even yourself. Do the thing and you will know. Don’t do the thing and you will never know. To know and not to do is not to know. If you read books to try to change yourself but don’t take the action steps to do it you lose.

You don’t know. Information will not change you. Only applied information correctly, consistently, for long enough will change you. It is always, usually, most difficult in the beginning. Yes, along the way there may be other speed bumps. Over all it gets easier.

With application it gets easier to do. Once you make it a habit, a routine, a daily ritual it is easy to do. You do it because it is your new habit. If you want to your life to change you have to change  some of the things in your life. You cannot continue the same way.

Doing What You Aways Did Will Get You What You Always Got

Do it! Learn to control your thinking. Do it! At one time I thought it impossible. When I was younger I quit many times. When I was older and prepared to face a challenge I committed to it.I stayed with it through easy times and the tough times. I continue to commit.

Challenges arise. I maintain control. I continue to exercise control. If I lose it. I much more quickly regain it. My life is most incredible as a result. I developed mental toughness and gentleness. I did it because at one point there was nothing else for me to do. I mean that!

I had to do it. I felt overwhelmed and lost. Even though I had lots of skills and knowledge and experience I hit a wall. A huge wall and my first thought was ,’I can’t live like this anymore’.  I had to find a way to make what I want consistently occur. I had to be in charge of me.

Resolutions Require Only Words – Results Require Actions

I started back at square one. I began applying what I knew didn’t work. I re-read Napoleon Hill. I did it his way. I did it my way. I used my Directed Questions™ I had developed earlier. I made it my mission to control my thoughts and emotions and get better results.

Eventually, it began working. There were ups and downs. The difference for me this time was I was prepared to face the down times and see it through them. When they got tough I  exclaimed, ‘Bring it on!’ I was determined to be bigger than my problems.

Previously, in my old conditioned life, when times got tough, I’d think, ‘I knew it. This doesn’t work. Why me? ‘ I’d quit. I’d go into negative, depressed, woe is me, worried thinking. I’d worry about what was going on, not going on or what was coming up.

The Result Of The Action Depends On The Quality Of The Action

It sucked. Once I decided ‘no matter what’ I was going to see it through, I saw it through. I continue to do so. Whenever thoughts came up I didn’t like I’d do a trick I’d learned in the 70’s and say ‘cancel’. Later, I replaced it with, ‘No thanks, but thanks for sharing.’

These helped me identify and deal with unwanted thoughts or feelings. Sometimes I had to say it numerous times in succession. I found it easier to say ‘thanks for sharing’ because I didn’t try to fight it. I simply acknowledged it and went on. I didn’t let it interfere.

Regarding circumstances, I’d think, ‘It is what it is.’ However it works out ‘it is what it is’. I respond but not get caught up. I realized whatever I do may or may not work. It will end up how ever it ends up. I still can pursue what I want but I am not married to the result.

Failure Only Happens When You Give Up Trying – Never Quit

The result will be whatever it is. I will have to adjust as necessary. These practices have been so freeing and have helped me move forward. I love my life. I love what I have learned and applied. I love how I have evolved. I love I still am evolving, learning and applying.

Don’t believe me because I say it works. Believe yourself when you make it work. That is the only actual way to know. Many may say many things. People said, we’d never fly or land on the moon. The experts of the day said that. Experts don’t know either. Unless…

Unless they have successfully already done it and leave the door open for other possibilities. Your friends and family may say you are silly for thinking a certain way. Be respectful. Do not be gullible either. Make sure you are getting good, accurate info from each side.

Winners Are Not People Who Never Fail But Who Never Quit

Don’t leap without looking. Don’t invest your time, energy, money or more into schemes. That is not what I am talking about at all. I am talking about developing positive, powerful, personal habits that help you get through life more confidently and joyously.

You can learn anything and master it. The more you do the more you can do. Step by step, you journey. Drop by drop the tub fills. Make the effort. That is what makes the difference. Develop the mind set of a winner and champion. Develop and unbeatable attitude.

Become invincible in your pursuit. Never stop. If you fall get back up. I learned how important it was to continue on. I learned that gratitude made it far easier. When you consider EVERYTHING a blessing you can say ‘bring it on!’ Be grateful for the challenges too. You will do it. Commit to it today. Have fun. Never stop AND Be grateful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Have Fewer Problems And More Joys

“In my last post I pointed out that agitation is good. After all it is a part of life. It benefits us and we can use it that way. I pointed out you don’t need to seek it nor should you avoid it. Rather, embrace it and be thankful for the opportunity to grow and develop.

Be bigger than your problems and challenges. Learn to speak of them differently. Consider them situations rather than obstacles, problems or challenges. If you say, ‘there is a challenge’ you are affirming it as something challenging.

Please understand this. It is always as you think and say it is! Perception is everything. If it is a difficulty in your mind and you say as much, you keep locking it in. You keep on perpetuating it. Instead, reframe it as, a situation or an opportunity, or even a blessing.

Be Careful What You Plant You May Have To Eat It One Day

Say, ‘a situation has come up’. ‘There is a new opportunity before me’. There are many variations you can use. Remember your attitude determines your altitude. If you label something a problem it is one, at least in your mind, at least for you. Get it? Do you?

Stop calling things as troubles or bad events. Come to see them as opportunities with benefits that may not be obvious yet. Speak only to bless, heal and prosper. Speak and focus only on what you want and not what you don’t want. Speak how you want the future to be.

Stop affirming troubles and start affirming all the good in life. It will work out. Eventually, it will so begin now to affirm that. You don’t know how yet, but trust that it will. The more you focus on the issue as a problem the more you attract problem thinking and problems.

Thoughts And Words Are Seeds – Be Careful What You Plant

Remember, you get what you focus on. That is why reframing, letting go, embracing the opportunity and celebrating with gratitude is transformative. Let go of it being a problem and embrace it as a situation or circumstances that contains a seed of opportunity.

The benefit will be revealed as you successfully negotiate it. As you stay open to possibilities and affirm the good around you  you are more likely to see the possibilities. The more gratitude and celebratory you are the more of these good things you get back.

The more you will find. I have discussed in other posts this ability of your brain. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) looks for matches in your experience for what you hold in your mind. What you think and say, determines much of what you find in the outer world.

What You Say Is What You Get – You Create Your Reality

What you are focused on, what is important to you, you begin noticing. It was always there you just couldn’t and didn’t see it. Like when you spot other model cars like the one you just bought. Birds of a feather flock together.

The energy you put into it is the energy returned to you. I prefer positive energy returning to me. How about you? Energy flows where your attention goes. If it goes into trouble then troubles remain or return. If it goes into blessings then you get that back.

Consider feeling blessed no matter what happens. It is what it IS. We never have enough information to know what it truly is or what it all means. Therefore, consider yourself blessed and have faith, trust that ultimately everything all works out for greater good. It does!

What Precisely Are You Affirming Only Create What You Want To

Be optimistic. Even if the ‘difficulties’ remain a while you are better equipped to navigate ‘troubled waters’ with a positive, optimistic attitude. A negative attitude isn’t going to help you. A defeated attitude doesn’t provide benefit. A poor attitude gets poor results.

A champion’s attitude will see you through. Feel blessed. If you learn how to feel blessed no matter what occurs, NO MATTER WHAT, you are transformed. Life becomes incredible. It is you who will have changed. When you change the circumstances don’t really matter.

You matter! Please understand this. It is up to you! Gratitude and feeling blessed is the difference that makes the difference. From within to without. From above so below. You Need To Get Agitated Or You Wouldn’t: Discover Why!

“There is a response to challenges and disturbance that can make everything okay and much better. Few people embrace this notion because we aren’t raised to do this. We are raised to try to figure out what is wrong and  fix it. We focus on the wrong aspects of it.

We are raised to avoid problems. We are conditioned to blame, to look for fault when they arise. We complain, whine, fret, worry, get angry, depressed, hate, accuse, fight or flee when the occur. We become miserable and miserable to be around. We get agitated.

Agitation is good. We use agitation to clean our clothes. The water, clothes and soap are agitated to remove the dirt. As water is heated up the atoms and molecules are agitated. Water bubbles and boils. Our food cooks the same way. From a big bang order occurred.

Challenges Make Life Interesting – Never Run From A Challenge

Out of chaos stars are born. Troubled circumstances and problems are avoided by us. That seems natural because we want it easy. Yet, the kite rises against the wind. We sail our boats the same way. Turbines agitate the water to power crafts through the sea.

When challenge and trouble appear embrace it. There is opportunity to learn and to grow. Celebrate that tough time instead of trying to avoid it. If you can learn to do this you will have breakthroughs. You will move through the troubles faster because you won’t resist.

What you resist persists. What you let go of drops away. You don’t have to do a happy dance with the ‘what’ of the problem, the specifics or particulars of the situation. If you don’t want to, don’t. Instead celebrate the opportunity to learn and grow.

Overcoming Challenges Makes Life Meaningful – Be Grateful

Your muscles grow because of the resistance added weight provides. The tissues break down and repair. Then they grow in size. Without the challenge or resistance your muscles would not grow. We develop through challenges. Can we develop without them?

Yes, we can. Yes, we do. We develop both ways. When crisis occurs it is an opportunity to be grateful. Yes, take care of the issue and problem solve. The manner in which you do it is important. The more you embrace, accept and celebrate the crisis the more you benefit.

Keep in mind the saying, ‘it is always darkest before the dawn’. Accept that your challenges are good. Imagine they were placed there for a purpose. Whether true of or not, this mindset can make a big difference in how much you learn and how quickly they resolve.

I Am Stronger Than This Challenge And It Makes Me Even Stronger

In the Bible, the tiny David, rushed toward, his problem, the giant and slew him, declaring this day ‘god will be victorious’. That is the mindset of a champion and one you and I can cultivate. Challenges are met head on with faith that you will be the victor. Decide to win.

Don’t avoid. Don’t look for them but when they come realize you are bigger than your problems. Don’t allow them to be bigger than you. They are lessons waiting to be learned. There is hidden benefit within so stay open to finding it. Appreciate the opportunity to grow.

Gratitude works wonders. Be thankful. Stay convinced you will prevail. Keep the faith. Don’t give up. It is easier to do all this when you are appreciating the situation instead of fighting with it or complaining about it. Accept it. Celebrate it! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Wake Up Feeling Wonderful: How To Get Out Of The Trances You’re In!

“People grow up in trance. We are conditioned from birth on. We are conditioned so well that most of us don’t realize the depth of trance we live in and from. We need to wake up and become aware. The question is how? How do we awaken from the trances we are in?

Most of our problems stem from our trances. They come from the conditioning. We have adopted limitations and limiting beliefs that we aren’t even aware are not our own. They were handed to us mostly from well intentioned others and some not well intentioned.

We wander through life not straying far from artificial boundaries that were introduced to us. We made these our own. We think it is who we are and what we are capable of. We clearly don’t know who we are or how much more capable we truly are. We just don’t know.

Wake Up Become Aware  – Live With Awareness

Because most of us live within a comfort zone we don’t venture further. Sometimes we are forced to wake up and for the first time we confront the limits of our thinking. Then we realize these limits aren’t us, they’re imposed on us. At this point we can become free.

If we choose to. If we become aware and work to override our previous conditioning we can awaken to who we are. We can begin to monitor our thoughts and self-talk for when it is supportive and when it is not. We can begin to live free, different and better lives.

To begin to live free of our previous conditioning we need to stop or drop the trance and wake up. We can do this by changing the self-talk from not supportive to supportive. We choose our thoughts and re-condition ourselves though affirmations and visualization.

Drop Old Conditioning – Become Aware And Live Life Differently

We can direct our mind with the artful use of questions. We change ourselves using the same methods we were originally conditioned with. Exposure and repetition. We repeat powerful new thoughts and ideas, declarations or affirmations with loads of good feelings.

It is the feelings combined with the powerful declarations that make it work. Feelings are the drivers. Mere repetition of phrases does little. Combined with enthusiasm and positive feelings the affirmations take hold and do their work. Repeat; repeat correctly!

You develop new habits doing the same positive behavior over and over again, correctly, for a long enough duration. It takes consistency and persistence. It takes time to condition ones body for health and beauty too. Everything takes some time. Be patient and optimistic.

When You Wake Up In The Morning You Simply Wake Up

Self-hypnosis can be helpful too.  Altering brain states is useful. Relaxing and listening to peaceful music while giving yourself positive suggestions is a worthwhile practice. Calm the mind and focus on your suggestions. Visualize and see yourself.

See yourself as you describe yourself in your affirmations. Imagine carrying out your tasks and living your life the way you want to be. Affirming while relaxing is the basis of self suggestion. A good time to do this is when going to bed, before sleep and upon waking up.

You can learn the art of self-suggestion or hypnosis from books and tapes. You want to relax but not fall asleep until you are finished with the process. Then sleep is fine. Meditation is a wonderful way to free yourself of old conditioning and awaken to who you are.

One Moment You Are Asleep Oblivious The Next Moment Awake

In meditation you learn to allow whatever is going on in the mind to go on without getting emotionally attached to it. You look at it as an impartial observer. You witness it without becoming involved in it. Typically, we follow wherever our thoughts take us. They lead.

The goal is to either be free of your thoughts as in meditation OR to choose you thoughts by managing them. In meditation you don’t choose you allow. However, it begins by learning the ability to focus. You might focus on your breath. Whenever distracted you return.

We can pay attention to the rise and fall of our belly. Simply place your awareness there. Whenever you become aware that you are no longer paying attention to your belly you return your attention to it. You will do that again and again. That is the process.

Don’t Wander Through Life Missing It – Wake Up To What Is

The process is learning to return your attention to what you are focused on. In managing your thoughts you do similarly. Whenever you notice you are not thinking positively you change your thoughts from negative to positive. You shift what you are doing. Get it?

In either practice you do it without blame or judgement. Just bring your attention back to the task at hand. Belly or positive thoughts. Eventually, in both you develop the ability to stay with it longer and longer. You condition yourself in positive and beneficial ways.

However, in mediation, you learn later to disengage and simply be the watcher of the thoughts. Imagine sitting near a stream and simply watching leaves float by on the water. Imagine clouds floating by in the sky. Our thoughts float by too. Instead of riding we watch.

You Didn’t Wake Up Today To Be Mediocre – Discover Yourself

Typically, whatever thought we think takes us into a series of other thoughts down the rabbit hole. Instead of traveling with the thoughts and getting emotional with them we watch without judgement. We are simply aware of them. Separate from them.

These methods are all quite simple to do. They each can help us wake up and go beyond what we have known previously. They help us experience other aspects of life we can’t know without having the experience. Give them the opportunity to work for you. Practice.

Affirmations and visualization, self hypnosis or mediation are wonderful processes. I’ll share another that is wonderful. Gratitude. Focus on being and feeling genuine gratitude for who you are. The simple practice of being appreciative is powerfully transformative.

If You Want To Be Happy You Have To Be Happy On Purpose

Be thankful for what you are, what you do, where you are, where you are on your journey and all that you have. Be thankful for what you don’t have yet. Be glad for all of it. Really feel it! Journal it. Celebrate and delight in it. When you do you change. You truly change. Give these methods a chance. You will be surprised. Most importantly, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

How To Experience The Joy Peace And Success You Want

“If you aren’t living as you want? If you aren’t experiencing the joy, and peace you would like to, that you deserve to; if you aren’t making your dreams come true and creating the success you want then you need to begin right now.  Stop waiting. Start having!

You are already that which you seek. Are you aware of this? You already have what you want and need? All you have to do is claim it! You do that by declaration. You have the ability to install powerful thoughts and beliefs in your mind any time you decide to.

Choose to focus on supportive thoughts, beliefs, ideas, behaviors and feelings. It is that simple. You have the power to control your mind. Let me repeat: you are already that which you seek. You already have everything you need or want. Simply claim it! Choose!

You Have The Power To Create The Life You Want To Live

It boils down to simple, stark choices. Similar to day and night you have supportive or not supportive. There is positive or negative. Strong or weak. Victor or victim. Champion or loser. Choose which you prefer. Focus on the one you want. Stay focused on it. FOCUS!

Most people do an unsuccessful mix of both. The reason they don’t get what they want is they take one step forward and one step back. They get mostly what they don’t want because they aren’t focused exclusively on what they DO want. Their thoughts are lopsided.

The balance isn’t in their favor. They think weak, non-supportive, loser, victim, negative, thoughts much or most of the time. They get caught up in excuses, blaming, complaining and worrying. Occasionally, they get hopeful and positive. That isn’t enough!

Visualize What You Want – Live Into It As If You Already Have It

When 80% of your time or better is focused on what you want, feeling good, and  thinking like a champion you make things happen. Even 55%, 60% 70% is better than 50-50. The more think positive and have positive feelings and actions you get more positive results.

Begin today. Make a choice and commit. It isn’t difficult. It can be fun. You can make it an adventure. Discover how much fun and positivity you can create for yourself. Become curious how much you life can change when you focus on these in this way. It can be magnificent!

Find reasons to enjoy everything. Be grateful. Remember you already have within you the ability to chose what to focus on. Shift away from the less than glorious. Choose to be different. You HAVE the power to control your thinking. Your life will be more than you can imagine when you are thankful and celebrate everything. ” Rex Sikes

Do You Understand, Yet, You Can Learn Without Pain?

“Some lessons in life come from our pain and suffering. We examine or look back on ‘negative’ events and extract learning. If we are wise we realize that in each less than glorious circumstance is a lesson and a seed of equivalent opportunity. It helps us to be aware.

We have growing pains. This is a great thing. It means nothing is wasted. Good or bad there is opportunity and there is learning. We can and will evolve no matter what. Sometimes, some off us keep getting the hard knocks over and over again. Repeated suffering.

It seems we don’t learn the first time. Perhaps, we don’t learn after many times. Some may not seem to learn in this lifetime at all. Yet, it appears the opportunity to awaken to this is there continually. Nature, life, most things are cyclic. What goes around comes around.

Delight And Gratitude Is The Secret – Use The Secret To Transform

Suffering is part of life and returns. Just as night returns, or winter. BUT there is something we also need to know. Something we really need to understand. SO DO THE good times; the day, the warmth of summer. It is never all bad. Good times come around again too!

More importantly, we don’t always have to only learn through hardship and struggle. We can learn through happiness, love, fun and delight. Opportunity exists there too. Everything is always available to us. We only have to look for it and accept it. Grab it!

We will enjoy more of life when we realize we already have it all. Learning can be most enjoyable. We can spend more time in delight. If we begin to appreciate where we are, who we are, what we have and be thankful NOW, we can make the most of our experience.

Play Is The Highest Form Of Research – Explore And Adventure

Open the possibility for the magnificent and you are more apt to find it than if you exclude it. Allow it to be available to you. Most of us have shut that out. Yup, our prior conditioning makes it so. But it can be different. It can be absolutely wonderful. It can be incredible!

Allow it. Accept It. Receive it. Make it happen. Create it! Attract it. Delight! Have fun, Be thankful. Open yourself to discover more. A closed mind won’t discover it. Only open eyes have the possibility of looking around and seeing what is there. Life will change for the best when you celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
