Expert Reveals: What You Do Now Determines Whether You’ll Be A Have Or A Have Not Person!

horizons showers-phil-koch

“Is there something that separates the successful from the not successful that can be defined? You bet there is! Is there something the successful do that non-successful don’t do? Again, yes! Are there things the successful don’t engage in that others  do? Absolutely!

The practices of the successful and the wealthy differ greatly from the practices of those who are not successful. Often, times people make lists of different activities for each to compare. What is first and foremost important is the differences in mindset!

The right mindset is critical. The wealthy and successful are not perfect. In some cases, far from it. What the wealthy and successful share in common is an unwavering faith that they will make happen what they want. They don’t doubt themselves. They believe!

Success Occurs When Your Dreams Get Bigger Than Your Excuses

They know they will prevail. They know where there is a will there is a way. They decide on what they want and they go for it full steam ahead. The gather their personal resources and those who can help them make it happen and they go after it optimistically.

They expect good to happen. They expect things to work out. They expect the best. They know it will happen. Whereas, other people worry things will sour and turn out badly the successful people know they can handle any obstacles. They keep the faith and forge ahead.

One cannot think  ‘yes but, it is difficult’ or ‘yes, but, I don’t have the money’ or  ‘what if it doesn’t work out’ or ‘what if I lose my screw up?’  ‘Yes, but’ and ‘what if’ are problem thinking. Typically, that thinking focuses on on the negative or what won’t work. Stop it!

The Price You Pay To Be Great At Something Is Repetition

To stay thinking on ‘what if’ keeps one focused on excuses and blames. The successful do not worry much about what ‘can’t be’ done because they are too busy making what ‘can be’ happen. The difference IS mindset. One is positive and powerful the other isn’t.

The successful maintain unshakeable faith in oneself and one’s abilities. To succeed that is required! We call these people successful because that is what they do. We call people who win lotteries or are born into something, lucky. Those who are successful are people who make it happen. They do it with what they have. They go for it!

Successful people focus on what they don’t want only long enough to clarify what they do want. They entertain what they ‘can do’ and don’t give time to what they ‘can’t do’ because they know we get what we focus on. They know if it is going to happen it will happen because of them. They know they have to do it to have it.

Change I Can’t Into I Can And Soon You’ll Say I Did

Many rich people may not be nice. There are plenty who are  be greedy, ruthless and will do almost anything to beat others to the profits.  Obviously,I don’t suggest you emulate any of those traits.  What one should emulate is the conviction ‘I will succeed!’

‘I can do it.’ ‘I will do it’. Then act. Move! Do something each day towards that end. Be proactive. Expect the best. When challenges arise handle them. Have no fear. Be relentless. Be happy and optimistic. Adopt the Nike motto and ‘just do it’.

Another aspect of the wealthy mindset we will explore soon is that they never concern themselves with how, only why. Once you learn this important principle you can begin getting better results. It is a distinction that makes a huge difference in the results you get.

A Positive Attitude Changes Everything

Right now, dedicate yourself to becoming a ‘can do’ person.  Develop the faith that you can learn to do anything you put your mind to and stick with. Napoleon Hill’s famous quote is ‘What you can conceive and believe, you can achieve.’ Your belief in you, is crucial.

I’ll leave you with a few quotes. ‘Any idea, or plan may be placed in the mind by repetition of thought.’ Napoleon Hill. This is how we come to think and believe everything. Repetition of exposure and repetition or action. Because this method worked we can use it!

‘Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition will one day become a reality.’ Earl Nightingale. We can change ourselves and the results we get this way, or we will keep on getting what we have been getting because of this.

Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill And The Key To Success

Either way the formula is powerful. ‘It is repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.’ Claude M. Bristol We can affirm positive things OR we can affirm negative things and get those results.

Whatever we continuously affirm by repetition we get. Whatever we speak most about we end up with. Do you think I can or I can’t? Do you talk most about what you will make happen or about what happens to you? Are you focused on solutions or on problems?

Whichever is predominant in your mind is what you will get. The wealthy and successful focus on that which is supportive and gets them what they want. They believe in themselves and don’t worry about problems because they are too busy making it happen.

Your Attitude Not Your Aptitude Determines Your Altitude

So can you. Believe it. If you don’t already you can develop that strong belief. This is what you can AND must do. Begin today conditioning your mind for the positive and for success. Enjoy everything along the way. Make it happen.  Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Expert Reveals: How To Be Truly Wealthy And Not Just Rich

Horizons forest-yellow-phil-koch

“There are happy wealthy people and plenty of screwed up rich people. What makes the difference? Why are some wealthy in all areas of their life while others are greedy and miserable to be around. Both exist. How do you avoid being miserable with money?

Napoleon Hill in ‘Think and Grow Rich’ said if you want to make money you must have a white hot burning desire for money. If you must have it the you must really want it  and be certain you will. Want it more than anything and believe you can get it is the formula.

Napoleon Hill was one of the original modelers long before Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) revived the concept of modeling. Napoleon Hill, long before Tony Robbins, many others, including myself, modeled and learned from 520 of the world’s wealthiest.

Health Is The Real Wealth – Not Silver And Gold

He distilled their methods of success into principles and practices which he first wrote about in ‘The Laws Of Success’. That book and ‘Think And Grow Rich’ are responsible for more millionaires perhaps than any other books. Hill knew his subject well.

Toward the end of his life he wrote that of the 520 only one was truly balanced and happy with his wealth. Hill pointed out that many others lost it, went mad or destroyed themselves because they made money their most important value.

You must have balance. You must be happy. You must emphasize other values and characteristics in order to live a good life. Help people, go the extra mile, love and value your family, friends and relationships. Don’t sacrifice wealth in all areas for monetary gain.

Without A Rich Heart Wealth Is An Ugly Beggar

Hill stated that your relationships, yours and others happiness, were far more important than ANY dollar amount. He emphasized balance and wisdom over greed. He said, have enough to live well and enjoy it. Don’t go insane trying to accumulate and keep it.

He knew these rich men. He stayed in their homes. He got to know their wives and their children and so many were severely screwed up. The families suffered. The kids a mess because they greedily sought riches, money, and not balance and wealth in all areas.

Many who used these principles to make money abandon the principles once they got money. Their mindset changed from wealth creation to scarcity. They feared losing what they gained instead of celebrating what they gained. What you focus on you get.

Happiness Does Not Depend On What You Have …

Since they now are scared of losing it they end up making that happen. They attract misfortune. For this reason alone a healthy mindset is important. You become what you think about most often.

If you worry about losing money you will find ways to lose it. You will create or attract or bring about the very thing you are wanting to avoid. Energy flows where you attention goes. This is why it is important to be happy, positive and grateful most of the time.

Hill pointed out that many who make money most important do arrive at the top by stepping on people. They stomp their way up the ladder. In the end these people and their families are not happy, but miserable. Their quest to greedily hoard it all ruins them.

… Happiness Solely Relies On What You Think

Money is tool that allows you to have more choice and do more things. You can benefit yourself and the world greatly when you have more money. If you hoard it you suck everything dry. Greed destroys families, friendships, businesses and individuals.

The mindset of greed is one of lack and competition. It destroys everything. The story of the Midas Touch points this out. Abundance heals and helps all. There is plenty to go around. Spread the good around. This mindset includes everyone and all good things.

Seek balance first. You can be, do and have everything you want. Focus on being a good person first. Focus on being happy, loving, kind and generous. Give and you get back. Take and it gets taken from you. There is great wisdom in being kind and compassionate.

Today Be Thankful How Rich You Are – Your Time Is Gold …

Be wealthy in health, love, and happiness. Enjoy money but  realize it isn’t everything, The LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not money itself. Money can help you help others. If you are wealthy and balanced in all aspects you naturally want to do good for all.

Don’t put off well-being and happiness. Don’t sacrifice sanity for shekels. Those who are happiest and most successful  begin by learning to be happy and successful in their minds first. Inner happiness precedes outer happiness. Inner wealth before outer.

To create more abundance think and feel abundant from within. Feel gratitude. Look for examples in nature of abundance. There is plenty of everything in nature. Allow yourself to feel wealthy. Really feel it. Think it and feel it. Thought precedes feelings.

… Your Family Is Priceless And Your Health Is Your Wealth

Pretend, as you did when you were a child. Pretend, be wealthy and regal. Walk around as a happy, healthy, wealthy, confident, loving person. Imagine what a truly wealthy person feels like, and acts like. Live it in your imagination. Live as abundance.

Think ‘I am health, I am wealth, I am love, I am success and prosperity. I am happiness’. Feel it. Think, ‘I love  my life. My Life is wonderful!’ Think it. Keep thinking it and saying it over and over. Imagine it. See it. Pretend it. Make it real.

Say it inside your mind and out loud. Feel wonderful as you do. Fill yourself with joy and enthusiasm. Say it, ‘I am filled with joy and enthusiasm.’ Assert it. Declare it. Command it! Be it. Live it. Enjoy and you will! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Millionaire Reveals: Do This To Create Greater Wealth!

horizons parkside-phil-koch

“The difference between the wealthy and the not wealthy IS people who are good with money manage it. They take charge of money and make it works for them. They don’t work for their money they manage the money that works for them. Get it? You can too!

If you want to become wealthier you must get your money working for you. You need to learn about money and wise investment choices. You need to stop trading your hours for dollars. There is only so much you can exchange when you trade time for money.

I’ve shared the principles of Pay Yourself First and Save And Invest. If you can only do a dollar a day or a week that is better than nothing. The point is to learn to pay yourself first and ultimately invest it. If you can do more do as much as you can. 10% of your paycheck. 20%.

Money Will Stay Away Unless You Know How To Care For It

Millionaire, Harv Eker introduced us to the notion of keeping separate envelopes, mason jars or bank accounts.  Whether the idea originated with him or elsewhere, I don’t recall. Divide up your paycheck and deposit a portion in each account.  It works like this.

Take 10% put it into your Financial Freedom, envelop, jar or account. You never touch this. You save it until you can invest in a form of passive income generating business or investments. Leave it alone. Be faithful to contribute the % each paycheck. Do not touch it!

Every 30 or 60 days remove the money from the envelops or mason jars and deposit into the highest yielding interest accounts. CDs still are higher than savings accounts in this day and age when banks give you nothing for using your money. Investigate this for yourself.

There Is A Reason The Rich Get Richer And The Poor Get Poorer

Take another 10% put in into A Long Term Account. Use this account to save for something big. A new home, car, television, a vacation, your kids education. Save something from each paycheck.

These two are your two long term accounts. Do not take from them except as specified. Use the following accounts similarly and do not rob from them either. Discipline yourself to pay yourself, manage your money, save it and invest it. The benefits will be great if you do!

Another 10% goes int Education. This is for your personal and professional development. It is so you can do seminars, workshops buy online programs, books, DVDs and audios. It is money you spend on your education and self betterment. Use it on an ongoing basis.

If You Want Something You Never Had …

10% goes into Fun Account. This money you spend at the end of every month. You blow it or treat yourself in a special way. Go out for a dinner, a special spa time, a men or women’s night out. Gift yourself. Have fun. Saving should have rewards. Reward yourself!

5% is a Charity Account. This is for giving back, contributing to others. Tithing. Helping your favorite cause. This is how you can help make a difference in your neighborhood, city, state or the world. It is important to give and to receive so learn to do both better.

That is 45% of your pay check you sock away in special accounts. If you save at home keep it somewhere safe and be sure to put it into actual accounts accounts soon. At least every 30 or 60 days. . Don’t stop pile cash at home where it can be stolen or burned up.

… You Have To Do Something You’ve Never Done

Look into getting the highest return accounts or CDs you can and put it there as I previously mentioned. Always seek professional advice when it comes to where to put your money, whether into banks, retirement accounts or investments. Lean on the learned!

The remaining 55% you use to your bills. This is your Necessities account. If you presently can’t do the percentages as suggested above do a variation of them. 5% each and 2.5% in charity. Find a way to save and manage something even if you divide up a dollar.

Whatever you do, the important part is consistency and commitment. Keep doing it. Discipline yourself. Learn to manage your money. That is why it is better to do it with a dollar every paycheck than to not do it. Begin today. Get some envelops.

Your Salary Doesn’t Make You Rich –  Its Your Spending Habits

Develop the habit of managing and growing your money. If you have lot’s of credit card debt seek responsible professional services that can help you get out of debt as fast and easily as you can. This is important. It is difficult to grow if you are paying off.

Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Poor Dad author, had a great concept that stuck with me from the moment I heard it. Obviously, there are assets and debits. Assets are whatever has value and debits are whatever you owe. Your home could be an asset but it might not be.

For example, if you have a duplex and one half rented. If the rent covers your mortgage payment and you have a little left over, then your house is making you money not draining your accounts. Some things can be an asset or a debit depending on how it is used.

Do Not Save What Is Left After Spending …

A car could be if an asset if your company is leasing it to you  and makes use of tax advantages or deductions. If you have a monthly payment that is debt. That is money you kiss goodbye every month along with your gas and electric bill. It is money out the door.

Robert’s concept was Feeders and Eaters. Similar to the Law Of Attraction principles of Increase or Decrease. There are either Feeders which increase or Eaters which decrease your money and wealth. A car or house payment is usually an eater. Unless…

Monthly, you pay out money. Remember, if your business leases it and there are some tax advantages it could be a Feeder. The same is true with your home. It could be draining you of money or you could be making money with it. Look into this for yourself.

… Spend What Is Left After Saving

Remember to seek reputable financial advice to understand and utilize these notions and tax strategies. Become aware of your money flow.  Money moves, it does not stay put. If you are spending more than you are saving or earning your money will not last long.

Ask yourself this:  Is  Money Coming In and am I growing my wealth?Am I getting fed by Feeders or am I decreasing my money by spending? Is my wealth being consumed by Eaters? Which is it? It is always one or the other.

This is why many lottery winners, sports figures and celebrities go broke fairly fast. The never learned to manage their money and get it working for them. Instead they buy large. The have the same programs rich as when poor. So most return to being poor.

When You Buy Without A Plan – Emotions Dictate Your Spending

The live from their prior programming. Anything that doesn’t contribute to your overall wealth and long term happiness is an Eater. This concept really helped me curb my spending and begin thinking about where I want to put or invest my money.

It helped me decided whether or not I really needed something or whether I just wanted it because I wanted it.  It has helped me be responsible with my money. I look for Feeder opportunities.  These notions are worth their weight and impact in gold.

Practice Responsible Money Management. Take hold of the money you have and learn to control it. Discipline yourself. If you are like most of us you were not taught much about money. Instead what we learned was what we heard and witnessed.

Start Where You Are –  Use What You Have – Do What You Can

It is time to get free of prior conditioning and learn the mindset of creating and keeping wealth. As you learn be glad you have the opportunity. Study wealth. Learn about money. It is a useful tool to help you live the life of your dreams, help others and the world. Be grateful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Expert Reveals: Your Success Habits And Failure Habits Affect Your Results

Horizons -the-path-phil-koch

“Some things we do help us be more successful while some of what we do leads us away from it. We succeed or we fail. There is a way to determine whether what you are doing is working or not. You need to know it and use it to become aware and to evaluate your efforts.

As we discuss money and wealth creation I wanted to point out that the mental practices related to increasing your net worth applies to happiness, love, leisure, career and anything you want in life. You can be, do and have whatever you desire. It is up to you to get it!

It is important, as we move forward with this topic, to understand that each of us has Success Habits. These habits support us. We do those things automatically that move us forward toward success. For example, being on time can be one. Paying oneself first, another.

Set Yourself Apart From The Herd – Practice Success

We also have Failure Habits. These don’t support us. These are things we automatically do that keep us from being successful. Showing up late, for example. Procrastinating. Spending more than we make. These are the habits we need to change to succeed.

If we keep doing what we always did we will always get the same results. We want to eliminate or overwrite the failure habits with more success habits. We need to aim at and focus on what we want and not on what we don’t want or what we want to exclude.

Whenever you encounter a failure habit you have a choice. You need to think, to consider, to ask yourself, ‘Is what I am doing right now supporting me or harming me?’ ‘Does it lead to increase or decrease?’ Will doing this lead to more success or more failure?’

Most People Don’t Have A Willingness To Break Bad Habits …

If your answer is that whatever you are thinking, feeling or doing is harming you, leading to decrease, failure or is negative, then you are at a place where you need to make a decision. Awareness is the first step in change. Now that you are aware of the failure habit – stop it.

Decide to implement a better belief right then. Choose a powerful positive one and repeat it over and over. Keep doing it until you make it your own. If you are feeling less than glorious do something positive to feel a little bit better. You need to act in your behalf.

If your actions are leading to failure you need to take actions that lead to success. If you want your life to change you must change some things in your life. You must take a positive action. For example, you are late make it a habit to be early or on time.

… They Have A Lot Of Excuses And Talk Like Victims – Be Different

Start right now. Begin today. Don’t put anything off. Live with this new awareness; Increase or Decrease; Supportive or Harmful; Success of Failure; Positive or Negative. Choose wisely. The way you change a habit is by introducing and practicing the new one.

We use correct repetition over time to wire it in. Whether it is a thought, feeling or action habit. Whenever you notice yourself off track steer back onto track. Get back on course. Set yourself right. There is so much value in self-correcting alone. It is powerful.

By repeating the correct thought, feeling or action, again and again over time, you create a new neural pathway. You create a new habit. It takes a while but as you develop the new habit the old one weakens and gives way to the new. Create new success habits!

Being Miserable Or Broke Is A Habit – As Is Happiness And Success

Whether you are learning to think more positive,  feel better, or exercise more keep this in mind. When it comes to money this applies to paying yourself first and trimming the fat. Develop saving, investing and spending habits that contribute to your success.

If you want to succeed then you must have more success habits and fewer failure habits. Only you can correct the imbalance. Understand that your future results are in what you think, feel and do today? If you want a more wonderful future start right now!

I’ll share more money and wealth principles next time, too. Enjoy the process. Have fun. It is serious but don’t take it too seriously. Nurture and nudge yourself along. Step by step. Encourage yourself. With deliberate practice you will get there. So keep at it!

Your Habits Are Driving Your Performance And Results

Delight in what you do well. Ignore and let go of mistakes after learning from them. Be sure to learn from them. Experience and reflection is a great aspect to learning to do new things. Practice gratitude and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Expert Reveals: The Way To Wealth – Trim It!

Horizon the-putting-green-phil-koch

“You want to be wealthier. Who doesn’t want more money or freedom? You want to be free from debt and able to live the lifestyle of your choosing? You can be but you must change some things you are currently thinking and doing if you aren’t already financially free.

Last post I mentioned two things you could start doing. Over the next posts I will elaborate on each and add more principles and practices. Remember to PAY yourself first AND CUT spending. Trim the fat. Seriously, if you don’t need it now, go without it now.

I hoarded videos and books. I felt compelled to buy. If I wanted it I got it. I had to discipline myself to say, ‘I can afford it but I don’t want it right now. Another time. Maybe later’. My mindset was not one of ‘I can’t afford this’ but that I am able to AND choose not to have now.

Saving Must Become A Priority – Always Pay Yourself First

Whether, in reality, I could or not I adopted this mindset. Mindset is everything! Your mindset, my mindset, our mindset runs the show. Our beliefs and attitudes, our thoughts are the predominant determining factor of whether we are happy, successful or wealthy.

Save and stop spending. Find out what you don’t need and can go without. I cut cable. After decades of high bills and full packages, I said enough. I didn’t like the bills or how they only continued to creep up. I hated having to always call for another promotion.

This was especially difficult for me. I am an actor, director and producer. My life is film, TV and entertainment. It is even a deduction for me. However, when I think of the tens of thousands of dollars I spent on cable, since the advent of it, I cut it loose.

If You Don’t Manage Your Money You’ll Work For Those Who Do

Difficult yes, but I have not regretted it. The mindset is ‘I have plenty. I can afford these things but I choose otherwise’. I’d rather celebrate saving than moan about spending. It is important to focus on what we want and celebrate than to focus on what we don’t want.

I want to be happy with my bills, as I pointed out in my last post. I don’t want my thinking time consumed by lack, worry or fears. I want most of my day spent thinking positive on what I can do. I want to  accomplish those things that move me ahead. Wouldn’t you?

When shopping many people look for bargains and the cheapest. They want the deal, they want to stretch their dollars. Guess what, the rich do too. They look for bargains and cheap deals. Billionaire Mark Cuban said he buys all his toothpaste for a year at a discount.

The First Step To Wealth – Always Spend Less Than You Make

The mindset is different. They aren’t worried about not having enough they are concerned with keeping their money working for them and not wasting it. It isn’t ‘can I afford it?’ Their thoughts are, ‘is it a good bargain or value for my money’?

If they don’t need it they don’t get it. Cut your waste. Trim the fat. Let go of what you do not need. You will be glad you did even if you don’t like it at first. The reason most people are poor is they overspend for what they earn and/or they get into debt.

So curb your spending, manage you money. Most importantly, manage your thoughts and your mindset. Your feelings and actions follow your thoughts. The results you get stem primarily from what you think and believe you can or cannot do. Think the best always!

You Tell Money What To Do Or The Lack Of It Will Manage You

Here is another way to manage your thoughts and think about money. This is an important exercise. Put some money in your wallet. $100.00 dollars or more. Then going on a shopping spree. Don’t actually buy anything. Window shop. Look don’t buy. LOOK only!

Look at items under the price amount in your pocket whether you have 100 or 500. With everything you see that you want, think, ‘I can afford that. I don’t need it right now’. You can! You have the money in your pocket. Choose not to purchase but understand that you could.

If you did that with 10, $100.00 items, you’d have spent $1,000. If you did it with 100 on your shopping spree you’d have spent much more! Understand? Learn to feel wealthy; that you can afford things and you can buy them but YOU CHOOSE not to. Change your habits.

See Yourself Living In Abundance And You’ll Create And Attract It

It is the mindset of the wealthy you want to learn to have. Feel wealthy first and becoming wealthier is much easier. Most people feel lack and live in it. Your thoughts determine where you go and end up. Think and feel wealthy inside and you can create it outside.

Some people look at menus and pick the cheapest fare. They don’t get what they want. They get what they think they should have or can afford. From time to time, as AN exercise, go look at a menu and don’t look at the prices. Don’t look. Get whatever you want.

You don’t have to do this all the time but find out how it feels when you do? Do you end up with sticker shock? What happens? How do you feel? Where you want to get to in your wealth is to be able to afford anything and then choose wisely.

Spend Time Learning To Be A Good Money Manager

Sometimes, it is important to splurge and treat yourself well. After all you deserve it. Don’t break the bank doing it, be smart. Indulge once in a while. Don’t let price be the deciding factor. Don’t make money the issue.

Clear up the money issues. Get what you want. Still, be wise as a wealthy person would be. The point of this exercise is to feel wealthy enough that price is not a consideration. If you do the exercise, be sure to enjoy it. Consider it a treat for yourself. A gift to delight in.

They rich don’t have to get the most expensive item to prove anything either. They don’t have to get the cheapest. They get what they want because that is what they want. They are still are smart about managing their money. This is important to understand!

Spend Time Each Week Managing Your Money – The Wealthy Do It

They save, they manage, they invest, they don’t overspend. They keep costs low and profits high. They allocate. Wise allocation is part of money management we’ll discuss later.  Seek to improve your mindset and relationship with money and you will.

Be smart, be grateful. Be thankful you have any money. Be grateful you are alive and can experience things. Be grateful for family, friends and relationships.  Be grateful for it all. Be grateful for the opportunity to learn from your struggles. Create balance!

Be grateful you can learn, you can develop yourself and your skills and can change you lifestyle. Be grateful for your past mistakes and successes because each step has brought you here. Appreciate today and be grateful you create your future. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Expert Reveals: How To Overcome Fear

horizons the-blues-phil-koch

“What is fear? A thought. A feeling. When you are afraid what are you thinking? What are you feeling? What is going on in your body? Where do you feel it?  How does your heart beat? Do you sweat?

What goes on? Think about it, for a second. When afraid of something what is the process that occurs? There is what you are afraid of and how you react to it. It may seem out of your control.

Realize this. As we evolved our reptilian brain responded to fear in this manner. We pumped chemicals to handle a threat so that we either could fight or we could flee.

Do Not Let Your Fears Determine Your Destiny

We’d either stand our ground and take our chances or we’d run away. We also might just freeze. You know, you’ve seen rabbits when scared. They freeze. Their hearts beat wildly but they freeze.

These are evolutionary responses to threats from the wild. We still respond similarly. Our brains perceive modern day, less than life threatening, threats as life threatening. Our brains don’t know.

Subconscious processes begin and our little conscious minds don’t have much chance once this snowball rolling down a hillside momentum gets going. Emotional flooding it is called.

Fear Kills More Dreams Than Failure Ever Will

Feels like an avalanche. Everything seems to happen at once. The same is true about anxiety, the fear of the unknown. Often, it stems from trying to control circumstances not within our control.

We fear making the wrong decision. We freeze, unsure what to do. Analysis can lead to paralysis. Overthinking isn’t a good thing. So how to deal?

Learn to control your thinking up front, while feeling calm. Take control and decide the thoughts you will think. Yup, affirm them. Positive powerful assertions and declarations that you repeat.

Fear Has Two Meanings – Forget Everything And Run …

Repeat them powerfully, confidently, persuasively. Imagine an actor portraying each and step completely into that role. Stand and shout them. Over and over again each day for 60, 90, 120 days or more.

Eventually, you will come to accept them. Record them on your electronic device and play them as you go to sleep. Listen with headphones whenever you can. Adjust the volume for comfort.

Monitor your self-talk. Put a guard in front of your tongue and a lock on your lips. Only speak positive, with confidence about what you want to think, feel and experience. Speak to bless, heal and prosper.

… Or Face Everything And Rise

Make a vision board and see yourself calm, confident, in charge, enjoying life, laughing, smiling, living as you want to. Imagine what it is like to feel these feelings right now. Where would you feel them?

What part of your body feels the best?  Where does it feel wonderful? How are you breathing? How do you move, stand or sit when feeling in charge and on top of the world? Experience these.

Practice these. How does it feel to feel calm; confident; at ease; relaxed; in charge; peaceful; serene; joyous; happy; delighted; ecstatic? Practice these, rehearse these over and over again.

Skill Comes Of Doing

Your body knows the pathway to fear. Now strength the pathways it knows to security, safety, confidence and all the good feelings you’d rather feel instead. Practice and rehearse. Imagine and visualize.

Assert and declare. Practice over and over again. Correct, spaced repetition will make it a positive, automatic, reliable habit. You can change and eliminate being fearful. You can live with confidence.

Recognize, that your fear response was a signal. It is a signal to pay attention and notice what you can correct. Somewhere along the way, you over emphasized it and it got a little bit out of control.

Whatever We Repeat Again And Again Becomes Our Habits

Reign it back in and use the signal. There is nothing wrong with you or the signal. Learn to control and manage your thoughts. Keep them in check and keep them from spiraling out of control.

Again, this is a reminder. You practice before you need it so when you need it, it will be available. You rehearse just as an actor does so that opening night and beyond everything goes as rehearsed.

Imagine tough times and getting through them easily. Pick only one at a time. Find a comfortable place inside you. Feel it fully. That comfort and strength. Pick something that helps you remember it.

Start Building The Habits You Want By Repeating The Good Stuff

Look around and see something that reminds you of your strength. Remember, an internal picture or memory that keeps you feeling strong. Or pick a special sound or word that you can exclaim.

When you speak the sound or word it affects you. Like the military hoohaa! Or shift your body into a strong, confident position or stance. You can do all three too. Remember, fully what it feels like.

You can make the picture, exclaim the sound and have the positive, strong, resourceful feeling all at the same time too. One or all three is usually more than enough to easily go through these exercises.

The Past Is Gone – The Future Hasn’t Happened Yet …

Remember, fully what it feels like to be powerful and positive and take these feelings, keeping them strong the entire time, into some moment that would be rough for you. NOT the roughest!

Start mild and work your way up. Begin with lessor discomforts. Practice going through the mild times with confidence and calm, with whatever resourceful feeling you need. Keep these feelings.

Maintain the mental image and sound and feeling that you see, hear and feel. Re-live past mild times, at first, with resources and notice you survived and it feels good to go through them resourcefully.

… There Is Only Now – Claim It

Stop and fully appreciate that it feels good to go though an experience resourcefully. Take full inventory and appreciate the change. Notice it and own it. Validate it. Feel it fully. It is yours!

Something else you can do is Interrupt The Pattern. Stop the emotional flooding. The very instant you become aware of the signal. STOP, take a deep breath and do anything else physically.

De-rail the train of thought. Shift focus. Exclaim you ‘hoohaa’ words. Shift your physiology. Move your body differently. Skip, jump, dance, do anything that interrupts the thought processes. Immediately!

Your Future Is Created By What You Do Today – Not Tomorrow

Interrupt the physiological processes and change them. Lead them elsewhere. As you might point out things of interest to a child, to distract, lead your thoughts and feelings into new, different areas.

Catch it right at the beginning, as soon as you notice it. If you are standing in front of a car on a hillside and the brakes give out you can stop it easily if you are right next to it. Put your hand on it as it rolls.

Yup, as it begins to roll all you have to do is put your hand out. There is no momentum yet. If you were 10 or 20 feet down you would have to get out of the way but YOU can STOP it right when it starts.

Learn From The Past – Live In The Present – Create Your Future

This is how you prevent emotional flooding. You catch it in the earliest possible moment, shut it down and lead it elsewhere. As with anything, the more often you catch it the better you get at it.

Lastly, realize that fear is a signal. You want to be able to respond appropriately if there is a real reason to fight, freeze or flee. So you should ask with each fear you practice. Is it appropriate to feel this?

It could be. If so, it is worthwhile to know this. If it is not an appropriate fear, then go ahead and change it. The power to change is always within you. Find your resources and live from them.

Master The Past – Create The Future

Re-code old times with new feelings. Build a history of thinking, feeling and behaving as you prefer to do. Slowly, in time, graduate to more difficult times, saving the worst for very last. Important!

You learn to walk a tightrope on the ground first. Then raise it a few inches, then later a few feet at a time. Get good walking close to the ground before walking high up. You can master your fears!

Step by step, bit by bit. Realize, your fears, small or large, are old chronic, habits, that have gotten out of control. You can stop them, prevent them, and exercise power over them. You are in charge!

If You Believe You Can You Will If You Believe You Can’t You Won’t

Re-code the old ways and notice that you are able to do so. You can change the way you think and feel about past memories. Examine them and discover what lesson was hidden in these for you.

Perhaps, all this time you had missed the learning. Now go find it. Reflect on it and benefit from the positive messages you can find hidden. Know that is the past and you are able to feel differently.

You can feel positive about past times that limited you then, but no longer. You can now know that you have the resources and ability to change how you think and feel about them. You can do it now too.

If You Want To Change Your Life – You Must Change Your Mind

You can change less than glorious present moments into positive moments in this very same way and you can extract the lessons you need to learn right now. Being present in new ways is wonderful.

Plus, because you are able to change how you think and feel about what was a difficulty for you in the past, but no longer, it means you are able to move into the future with renewed confidence and vigor.

You can live free from what used to hold you back. You can see a bright new day ahead and feel all the wonderful feelings of living this way right now. Isn’t it wonderful to feel free? Of course it is!

Your Life Is A Reflection Of Your Thoughts – Think Only The Best

Spend time re-imagining yourself as confident and capable of living in new positive ways. See yourself, hear yourself and feel the incredible feelings. Imagine the YOU you want to be as already it!

In your mind imagine yourself doing all the positive things you want easily, having made these changes. Imagine a wonderful, new free future, right now. Not some day, but right here and now. Do it.

Live with the confidence and calm. Live in the delight and the joy that are yours already and that can be yours again and again. Relax, find all the many things to be grateful for. Practice these too.

Winners Reveal: You Need This Kind Of Faith To Win!

Horizons bails-phil-koch

What is faith? Why do you need it? What do you have faith in? There are so many different rules and beliefs and practices about faith what is necessary? Can you develop it?

Faith is your ability to believe and trust that what you want to make happen, you will. It is the certainty that you can bring it about. It is faith in you and your abilities and resourcefulness.

You can have faith in the universe or god but that is not the faith I am talking about right now. I hope you understand this. You can live and work with one or both. That is entirely your choice.

Skill Comes Of Doing

It is useful and desirable  to have  faith that good things will happen regardless of the evidence. It is powerful to believe that no matter what happens the end result will be good. Things work out.

It is an incredible mindset to not be thrown by whatever present circumstances there are. Everything will work out positively, eventually, is a great attitude. Think, I always land on my feet.

It IS absolutely worthwhile to cultivate these beliefs. It is absolutely worthwhile to be positive and feel positive. When you feel your best everything works better. Your brain is open to all the good around.

The Mind Is As Strong As Its Weakest Think

Life is more wonderful when you think and feel your best. When you feel optimal everything goes better to. You can do more, enjoy more, struggles aren’t so difficult. It is a good head place to be.

This faith, Napoleon Hill called Active Faith. Active faith means you take action. You believe in your purpose, your desired goal, you Definite Chief Aim. Then you act in service of getting it.

The hay doesn’t bail itself! Everyday you do something that brings you closer to your desired future. Small steps or large you keep moving forward knowing that ultimately you will get there.

The More We Do The More We Are Able To Do

You will get there. No matter how many times you may have to change course, you will arrive. You use your imagination and your will power. It is not up to others. It is up to you whether you succeed.

Skill comes from doing. So does faith. The more we do the more we can do. The more we act on our own behalf, the closer we get, the more we believe it is possible. Belief comes from doing, too.

Active faith is not about sitting around wishing for things to be different. It is acting to make them different. YOU make it happen by your thoughts and actions. Your behaviors bring you results.

Believe In Yourself

You develop active faith through repetition of affirmations and your actions. You become a ‘CAN DO’ person by focusing your mind on what you can do and then doing it. Thoughts and actions.

You develop this faith and make it serve you. You get more of it by using it. It grows through exercise just as muscles do. Everyday affirm you are the kind of person that acts. Be positive!

Affirm it. Affirm that you will accomplish the positive good you want. See yourself with your goal already attained. Visualize the kind of persons you are. See your results as already accomplished.

There Is Something Greater Inside You Than Any Obstacle

Feel your best. Be enthused when you affirm. Feel confident and powerful that what you say is true. Feel great about seeing and having, in your imagination, what you will in reality someday.

Feelings are the most important aspect of this process. Always feel the best you can. Feel convinced. This is the method to develop strong positive beliefs. Everyday affirm it out loud with passion.

Do this daily!  This is how you use correct repetition to develop necessary skill. Everyday see yourself successful. Fill your mind with positive thoughts that YOU CAN do it. Keep your mind filled!

I May Not Be There Yet But I Am Closer Than Yesterday

Everyday take action and do something to make your dream come true. Everyday put on your best, most powerful mindset, and work to make it happen. Will it? That is entirely up to you!

Can it? Absolutely it is possible! Live each day knowing you are fully capable to bring about your intended future. Know that you can learn and acquire whatever resources you need.

You are sufficient to make it happen. Be grateful for the opportunity to learn, to struggle, to grow and develop. Be thankful. Appreciate everything about you and about your circumstances.

The Only Thing Limiting You Is Your Belief That There Are Limits

Tough times make us tougher. Express your gratitude for everything and believe that good things always happen in the end. As you do these things everything begins to come together in positive ways.

You will be more alert to opportunity. You will be more open to helping others and attracting the right people that can assist you. When your mindset is positive you keep moving forward. It feels good and nothing can stop you. Get it? Do it! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

The Secret To Getting Consistent Positive Results: It Is How You Do It!

horizon mimic-phil-koch

Repetition is critical. It is HOW we learn and acquire skill. From birth on it is THE process we engage to learn anything. Did you know it must be a very special type of repetition if you want to move ahead?

Is not just repetition that is important. It is correct repetition. What is correct repetition and why? It is doing it the right way. You can repeat practicing mistakes and learn errors instead of the right way.

You can practice a golf swing incorrectly and hamper your ability to play. Practice correctly from the beginning as much as possible. You do it and make adjustments to correct as you go along. Feedback.

Correct Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill

You never fail. You just get plenty of feedback. If you are open to it you make the adjustments to move forward correctly. If you aren’t open to it you are destined to practice your mistakes.

Whatever we practice or rehearse in life we get back. If we practice a bad golf swing the results we get are a bad golf swing. The result is most likely a bad score. This is why correct repetition is important.

Some people spend a lot of money on books and private coaching to learn to swing the golf club correctly. Athletes train and have a coach or a team to help them correctly exercise and perform.

There Is No Such Thing As Failure Only Feedback

When it comes to your life and the consistent results you want to get what is it worth to you? If you want success, the best health and wealth and happiness what are you willing to commit to?

How much time, energy and/or money will you devote to you and to getting your career, your relationships and your life in order. Certainly, you should be able to devote a few minutes each day.

If we practice crappy, negative thinking the results we get back are crappy negative results. If we focus on lack and poverty and problems, because we rehearse these, they stick around.

Whatever We Plant And Nurture We Will Harvest

We make habits of whatever we practice and rehearse in thought, feeling and behavior. We wire in neural pathways. Because of this we find ourselves behaving the same over and over again.

If you want to change, get better results and have only good habits, you have to practice and rehearse only what you want more of. You must take charge and take control. There is no other way.

If you think you can or you think you can’t you are right. It is all up to you. If you do or don’t. Only you will benefit.  Only you will lose out. If you want to change begin today. Do it right.

Don’t Like The Results You’re Getting – Change What You’re Doing

Use what you learn in these pages. Study and apply it. Ask questions. Consider getting some personal coaching. Learn and do whatever it takes to bring you the good you want for yourself and others. Don’t miss out. Commit. Do what you can. Begin right from the start. You’ll enjoy getting positive results. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Expert Reveals: The Single Most Critical Factor In Success Conditioning

horizons rings-phil-koch

“What makes the difference between success and failure? Is there something we aren’t doing that would change the game? How can we succeed and reach our goals? People have struggles. They try but they abandon their pursuit.

Did you know there was a time in your life when you did anything and everything to succeed? You didn’t stop. You worked until you got there. Giving up was not an option for you. Did you know this? It is true. You worked and continued to work until you achieved.

People asked me, why is repetition important? The reason it is important is that is how you learned as an infant, toddler, child and all the while growing up. As an youngster you worked harder than you ever had and you kept going until you got what you were after.

Mastery Only Comes From Doing It Over Again Correctly

As an infant you repeated movements necessary to roll over, sit up, crawl, walk and feed yourself. The movements that you needed and were successful at you kept. Those not needed, you discarded. You eliminated the unnecessary movements.

Even the unnecessary movements were important. You moved wildly, without control.  You had to learn control. You had to learn which got you to your desired goal. In feeding yourself you had to eliminate all those that didn’t get the spoon to your mouth.

You kept doing it, getting food everywhere, all over you. Eventually, through repetition you learned which ones you needed. Then you repeated those. You maintained the correct repetition to succeed. From random and error you made it to your target by doing.

What We Want To Do With Ease We Must First Do With Diligence

You kept doing over and over again until you succeeded. Failure wasn’t an option. You tried to walk and fell. You got up and tried again. You fell. You got up and repeated what you were doing until you did it successfully. Everything you learned to do this in this way.

As a child you learned songs and nursery rhymes by repeating them again and again. You learned you alphabet, and mathematical tables by repeating over and over. You repeatedly practiced printing letters, then cursive. You learned to read by repetition.

Repetition is how you have learned everything. You learned your name and the names of those around you by repeatedly hearing them. You learned to speak by hearing over and over your native language and then babbling and babbling until you could talk.

Skill Comes Of Doing

Your muscles and strength grow by exercise repeated often. You repeat eating a  number of times each day and you repeat sleeping and waking each day. The piston in your car engine pumps again and again to take you places. Your heart does the same as do your lungs.

Your cells repair and re-create themselves every so often. Your entire body renews itself through the years. Repetition is the way of the universe. Hot and cold, summer and winter, day and night. Tides come in and go out again and again.

Learn to use repetition to your advantage. We have been trained out of it to. We were conditioned for limiting beliefs in this same way. We adopted poor attitudes in a similar manner. Unfortunately, not everything we were exposed to was positive, useful and supportive.

Self Discipline Begins With The Mastery Of Your Thoughts

We got lots of junk conditioning in there and we will continue to live from that junk unless WE decide to eliminate and change it. If we don’t we run on and on automatically reproducing the habits we learned. We continue to live from our limitations and issues.

We listened passively, as infants and children, as the people around us expressed their worries and their fears. We witnessed their concerns and arguments. We grew up modeling and adopting their issues. These weren’t originally our own but they became our own.

Now we need to wake up to the fact that we can deliberately decide to change these. Only, if we attempt to change can we make a difference. Now, we have to do it consciously, with intention. We apply the very same method we originally were conditioned with.

Mastering Yourself Is True Power

Instead of the passive modeling and conditioning  we actively condition ourselves for success. We choose what we want instead and actively install it through correct repetition and powerful emotion. We do it through spaced repetition over time.

We must do it because no one is going to or be able to do it for us. We override the original less than glorious programming for new updated programming of our own choosing. That is how and why it works this way. This is important to understand.

You adopted try and try again, once more, then quit. This was counter to your original instincts which are to continue for as long as it takes to be successful. We learned to want things easy, quick and comfortable. We aren’t as driven as we once were.

Happiness Relies Solely On What You Think

It wasn’t comfortable to try to roll over or sit up and support your body weight but you kept going until you were able to. Crawling took massive effort. Yet you did it. When you walked you fell, but YOU got back up. You didn’t remain down. You kept going.

By comparison we are wimps and wanna bees who won’t put in the effort. We whine and complain and excuse. That doesn’t serve us. If you want something badly enough you will find a way and keep going until you get it. We need to learn perseverance over again.

We need to learn positivity and supportive beliefs and attitudes. We need to acquire commitment and sheer will power. We can and will if we commit to practice and repetition. We can succeed. Athletes do all the time. They have a goal and they go after it relentlessly.

The Price You Pay To Be Great At Something Is Repetition

They workout even when they don’t feel like it. They know motivation comes from doing not by waiting for it. They repeat their mental and physical conditioning exercises. They use correct repetition to become world class. You can be world class too!

It is the mental game for us now. We need to learn the attitudes, the beliefs, the positive thoughts that see us through to the end. We need to exercise our will power, our imagination, our ability to decide. We can do anything once we learn we can do anything.

The first and most important ability you have, that probably no one told you about while growing up, is the ability to control your thoughts and take charge of your mind. Success and happiness starts from within in. It doesn’t come from the outside. This is important!

It Is Repetition Of Affirmations That Leads To Belief …

Learn to control your thinking. Keep at it until you master it. Apply feedback and correction as necessary. You will master it if you keep going. It is good to get a skilled mentor or coach because they can guide you in making corrections. They can keep you on track.

Alone or with a coach you can become a CAN DO person. You can adopt a winner’s attitude and learn what it is like to be a champion in your life. You can learn and evolve yourself into the person you have always wanted to be. You can learn to be, do and have anything.

This is the process. Apply it to whatever you do. Correct repetition for as long as it takes for you to condition yourself with the new thought, feeling and behavioral habits. Once they are habits they are automatic and reliable. It gets easier as you go along.

… Once That Belief Becomes A Deep Conviction Things Happen

The effort is up front. Yes, you must persist. Get used to the idea and stop looking for excuses or magic avenues to change. Be grateful you can change! All the while you effort be grateful and enjoy the process, even when most difficult, and you will excel through it.

Keep your eye on the prize. Athletes persist because the really want to be top in their field. It is important to them. It is a burning desire and they strive to be at the top. If you do too, you will. Enjoy all of it, keep going and you can claim it. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Expert Reveals: How To Accelerate And Apply What You Learn

horizons 1-the-path-phil-koch

“People have asked what is the best and easiest way to learn to make changes? How does one master this material? I am so glad readers want to know. Learning is simple and fun. It is what we are designed to do. We can learn easily and fairly quickly.

As I and others suggest read everyday. Find some great inspirational material and immerse yourself daily. A good time is first thing in the morning after a period of time doing affirmations, visualization and a list of gratitudes. Read quality inspirational material.

Read every day as much as you can. I recommend at least a chapter but if you can’t do that read as much as you are able, a few pages, a few paragraphs, a few lines. Just read. Highlight and take notes. Study the material, pause and think. It is not a novel. Reflect.

It Is That We Think We Know That Keeps Us From Learning

Ask yourself, how the material relates to you? How you will apply what you learn? How and when and where and with whom would you use it? What will you do to apply it? Think about it. Imagine it. Relate it to your life and what you want to accomplish. Study.

Go back and re-read the material a week or two later. Review it. Re-read your notes. Attempt to put the material you learned into your own words. Share what you are learning with others WHO ARE interested. Discuss the material. Help others. Consume and digest.

I often find a chapter that is meaningful to me and read it everyday for a month. Yes, sometimes you have to fight the urge to gloss over it because you have become familiar with it. Learning comes from repetition over time. You want to continue to re-expose your mind.

If You Are Not Willing To Learn No One Can Help You

If you read only once and keep moving you aren’t  really absorbing it. You exposed yourself to the concepts but didn’t take the time or the repeated exposures to to actually learn it. Reading over and over again is a very healthy, worthwhile practice. Don’t be in a rush. Relax.

Between readings your mind works on it. You have real life experiences. When you return to read the same material you will find things that you didn’t know you have read. You will discover new things there that you missed before. Why? You changed in between.

From the last reading your brain, your reflections, your use of the material has helped you evolve some. From this new place you are able to notice more things. When you return to reading you will have grown more able to see what is there. It will surprise you!

If You Are Determined To Learn No One Can Stop You

You can listen to audio books while driving. I prefer to listen while sitting home with a notebook and pen. I do what I have already described. Take notes. Lots of them. Then I go back and review my notes regularly. I re-write them from time to time. I listen repeatedly.

As for affirmations and visualization and list of gratitude. I do these daily too. A short while in the morning devoted to each. Plus, I love to do affirmations while I drive. Sometimes, I split the drive, affirmations and then I’ll listen to a positive audiobook. I enjoy this.

Affirmations should be spoken out loud whenever possible with lots of positive energy and enthusiasm. Shout them, say them with conviction and really mean it. Visualization gets easier and more vivid with regular practice. Some don’t see so clearly at first.

Education Is Not Learning Facts But Training The Mind To Think

It will get better the more you do it. You build muscles from repeated exercise. Your ability to visualize deliberately increases too. Be specific, as vivid as possible and imagine that you have already accomplished your goal. Savor those wonderful feelings,

Use Directed Questions™ routinely. Anytime throughout the day is good for affirmation and questions. Decide on the end point of what you want, your goal, and ask yourself questions that direct you there and specify how you feel on the way. Feeling is most important.

Adjust your mind and body throughout the day to feel your best. If you get agitated or upset, down or anxious, bring yourself step by step, inch by inch to feeling better. Think worst, better, best. Eventually, you will feel better. Move in increments toward that way.

Remain Curious And Keep Learning

Smile more, laugh more, move your body. Walk, skip, sing, dance. Shake things up, do new things. Vary your routine add in some novelty. Meditate, relax. Be curious, take in nature, be playful as a child would be. Have fun learning. It isn’t all serious.

Each element I described requires one thing very important. If you don’t do this you won’t learn much of anything. You must take action. You must apply it. If you don’t apply it you haven’t learned it. Information, knowledge is only power when you use it. Apply it.

To not use it is to not know it. You can learn ABOUT something without ever experiencing any difference. You can read about France but if you never go there all you know is information. Information won’t change you by itself. Use it. Do it. Repeat it!

Learning How To Learn Is One Of The Most Important Skills In Life

Somethings you can learn in a few minutes but they take a life time to master. You can learn to juggle 3 balls in a short while, perhaps not five minutes, but fairly quickly. To become a great juggler requires lots of practice. To be world class even more dedication.

For you to learn you must be exposed to the material. You must think about it , examine it, reflect on it and review it. Repeat. Put it in your own words, understand it and apply it repeatedly. Correct mistakes. Apply again. It is a continuous conditioning process.

Little bits studied and applied well help you learn quicker. It is better to do a little well than a lot in a shoddy fashion. Bit by bit you increase you abilities. Everything grows exponentially together. Stay with it. Learn! Make it your own. Play with it. Stay with it. Delight!

Learning Is A Treasure That Will Follow Its Owner Everywhere

That which you do daily, as long as you continue, becomes a habit fairly soon. You want to develop positive, powerful, habits that support you in getting what you want. Attitude is everything. The more fun and enjoyment you have while practicing the better.

If you do this you will be delighted to discover yourself easily learning and incorporating the new material into your life in ways that can surprise and amaze you. You can find yourself more easily and readily making the changes you want quickly. Enjoy it! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
