Develop Your Resolve And You Can Do Anything!

“Whatever positive change you want to make in your life you can do it. You are in this world for a reason. You must determine what that reason is. Frickin’ make it up if you have to but decide you are going to live the life of your dreams. Decide you will make it happen.

You don’t have to hurt anyone or take anything from anyone to do it. You can make it begin to happen right now with what you have and what you don’t. The first change on the road to success is your mindset more than anything else. Once that is right things change.

Attitude is everything, It really is! Guinness Record breakers wouldn’t be if they didn’t, at the very least, think they could go for it. At the VERY least they decided to ‘try’ and give it a shot. Get it? You have to start with the knowledge that I can do this. I can learn how.

Work Through Things – Face Up To Them – This Makes You Strong

I am capable of learning. I am going to do whatever positive and beneficial things I can to shape my life the way I want it. I let go of thoughts of defeat. I think of victory. I am not interested in what I cannot do but what I can do. I don’t care what the problems are.

I want to know what the solutions are. I shall prevail as I awaken to the opportunities I are missed out on because of past fears. I will move forward courageously step by step adjusting and continuing along the way as necessary. I will be unstoppable in my quest.

I will look around and notice any challengeI face is not the end of the world. I can handle anything thrown at me. Each day is the beginning of a new day. Challenging, yes perhaps. Perhaps, more difficult than anything I have ever faced and I saw ‘bring it’. BRING IT ON!

Resolve To Be A Master Of Change Rather Than The Victim Of It

I know in challenges, and what appears to be defeat, are learning and opportunities to further grow and develop. Muscles grow through resistance and challenges are a normal part of my development. I meet challenges with resolve. I move forward because of them.

I live courageously and fully. When situations arise that might be tough I make the best of it. The world has always faced troublesome times and troublesome people. I can too. I am focusing my thoughts and my efforts on creating my life the way I want it to be. I am! I can!

I will support others and allow others to support me. I will help others and enlist the aid of others as necessary. We can all be more successful and happy when we work together and uplift each other. I will keep my mind positive and focused. If I fall I get back up. I do!

Commit To Making Each Day The Very Best – Control Your Destiny

That is just the kind of person I am. I learn and I grow with each step I take. I am grateful for the opportunity to begin to realize my power and my purpose. The more I do the the more I can do. Drop by drop fills the tub. Eventually I will get there because I am making it happen. I love my life and I appreciate and celebrate everything!”

You Don’t Need To Get All Pumped Up And Motivated!

“How important is confidence? Is it necessary? What about getting motivated? Do we really need to get pumped up before we get our tasks done? Some people don’t trust motivational gurus or seminars. Sometimes for good reason. So what do we actually need?

Confidence is absolutely important. Competence is also important. WISDOM may be needed more than either in order to discern when to be confident. YOU SHOULD be confident that you can learn to do anything and confident you can do it once you have mastered it.

Both confidence and competence are part of the same set . One without the other is meaningless. I don’t have to be confident I can walk over to the other side of the room and get a book from the shelf, today. I don’t need that because I already AM confident I can.

When You Believe In Yourself Anything Is Possible

WHY? Because I have successfully done so or similarly many times. More than anything one needs to behave as an infant does. The infant doesn’t know any fancy words like confidence or competence. The infant just keeps doing it until a successful habit.

That is how we learned to do everything from birth on. We just did without judgement. We learned to roll over, sit up, balance, crawl, walk, feed ourselves. Imagine where we would be if we had given up anywhere along the line to acquire those abilities.

Imagine what would have been the outcome had we thought ‘this is too hard I can’t continue.’ What if we thought, ‘I’m not good enough to feed myself. I can never do this.’ We didn’t judge or assess how difficult or how long things would take. We simply did until we could.

Don’t Be Pushed By Your Problems Be Led By Your Dreams

Nearing toddle stage the influences around us helped us to not be so tenacious. We learned about ‘failure’ and ‘success’. We learned there were punishments and reasons to not do things. We learned to lie to save face and get away with things. We learn defeat and to feel bad.

Prior to that there was no such thing as defeat.  We just did it until we could do it. We mastered many major skills without thinking about it. We didn’t read books or need to get pumped up. We didn’t whine or complain. We just performed endlessly until we got it.

We were conditioned out of being tenacious and learned to be afraid. We gave away our power. That is what happened back then. We can continue to whine and complain and make excuses about that time. We can blame those who did their part to raise us.

Know That You Can Do It And You Can Become Unstoppable

Here is another way to think about confidence when people say they need confidence. Because some people are confident they don’t have any and will boldly tell you they are certain they have none. The snake is swallowing its own tail. Understand this phenomenon?

Confidence can be no different, in this regard, than worry.  Worry is negatively planing for the future. Some people are certain things won’t work out. They are confident about negative circumstances or certain they lack certain abilities or opportunities. Get it?

You can affirm something in the positive or you can affirm something negative. You can be certain things will work out or that they won’t work out. Confidence that you can is the same as confidence that you can’t. There is no difference in the feeling of certainty.

Follow Your Dreams – Believe In Yourself – Never Give Up

However, one form of confidence results in being able to do something positively while the other results in you positively being unable to do something. Aim your confidence at what you want to do in a positive way. This is where confidence can be most useful.

Be confident, believe that you can learn what to do. You are in the process of discovering, learning, starting out to gain skill in an area. As you gain the skill your confidence in your abilities can go hand in hand. Keep the faith that you can learn and you can master it.

You have mastered many things in life. Some great and productive. Some not so great and burdensome. Because you have done both you can now decide which to master in the future. You can choose to master skills or not. Whatever you decide is precisely what you do!

I Think I Can – I Think I Can – I Think I Can – I Think I Can 

You can live in the past from that conditioning OR you can choose to be different. You can choose to let it go. You can choose to learn again to live as that tenacious child. You start right from where you  are at, in spite, of your conditioning. You can move forward.

When you believe you can do something it does make doing it a bit easier. You want to believe that you can accomplish you goals. It provides extra juice, hope, courage and tenacity for getting the results you want. If you don’t believe in yourself it is tougher.

You may never move if you aren’t confident or certain that you can. You do want to be confident you can get your outcomes. You must have faith, unwavering faith, that you can make happen what you say you will. You win more often when you have a champion mindset.

Keep Going Until You Get There That Is All You Need To Do

That doesn’t mean you need to get all pumped up. You can have a quiet conviction that you can steer your ship through troubled waters if necessary. You can and you will do whatever positive it takes to make your dreams come true. You are certain you can!

Let go of whatever reason ‘why’ you can’t. Look for and wrap yourself in the reasons why you can. No matter how difficult look for solutions not at the problems. Turn your attention to the small, baby steps you can take consistently to move you from here to there.

That’s what the infant did. The infant made small micro muscle movements again and again and again, correcting as necessary, to hone the skills and behaviors of balancing and feeding and whatever was learned at the time. You and I can do that again. Take tiny steps.

Winners Aren’t People Who Never Fail But Ones Who Don’t Quit

Figure out what you want and go for it. Make tiny, positive, daily progressive steps towards accomplishing your goal. If you want to make more money, for example, what do you have to learn? Do some research. Who do you have to call? What do you have to sell?

What are the resources around you? What can you do? If you think nothing, that you can’t do anything, then you aren’t thinking very hard or well. There’s always something positive, small, and not that difficult, you can do to move forward. Explore, think and discover.

Ask yourself, ‘What do I want to accomplish? What step can I take. What can I do?  Break down what you want to accomplish. Chunk it down into small manageable bits. Once you take your first step, repeat the process for the next. Just do one step after the other.

Adjust And Continue – You Can Always Find Or Create A Way

Little progress at a time is better than no progress over time. If you do nothing you will be in the same place days, weeks, months and years from now. Doing a small bit each day will take you further much faster. Begin now. Determine what you want and move on it.

I end each blog with find things to be grateful for. It is repetitious. It is meant to be! I repeat things over and over because these ARE important and it takes repeated exposure to sink it. Anything worth learning and having is worth repeating. Once is never enough.

Find your way. Drop the excuses. Take charge. Live fully. Feel grateful. Manage your thoughts. Be thankful. Choose how you will make it be. Appreciate everything. Take another step. Express gratitude. Inch by inch. Get it? Okay now celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

An Easy Formula For Making The Changes You Want!

“Are you one of those people who gets down on yourself? Things  frequently don’t work out well? Perhaps, you blame yourself or your parents, your upbringing and social conditioning for your current mindset and woes. I’ve got some good news for you!

You can turn it around. You may not believe that yet, but you absolutely can. Ultimately, it is important that you do if you’d like to make some permanent. positive changes but you can begin right where you are. That’s what I did. That’s what everyone does.

The good news is you wouldn’t be programmed or conditioned as you were in the past unless you were programmable. This means you are pliable. You are able to be influenced and fashioned. Most of it happened when you were very young but it is true today too.

Think Positive – Be Positive – And Positive Things Will Happen

Your brain is able to grow and develop. When you learn and acquire new things your brain actually structurally changes. It is called ‘neuroplasticity’. Today, whatever age you are, you can change and grow and evolve for the positive when you take charge to do it.

What does that mean? Well, most of us walk around in the mindset we were conditioned to as a child. We live, almost as if we are in an hypnotic trance. Why do I say that? Because we react to life experiences without having to think about it. We are habitual.

We can wake up from that trance. We can wake up and discover your inner and outer resources. You can go beyond limiting beliefs and conditioned mindset and behaviors. You can wake up!  How do you awaken? It is actually quite simple. You decide to wake up.

We Are What We Repeatedly Do Make A Decision To Be Excellent

Make a decision now to begin to live in a more positive way even if you don’t know how. Think it. Say it. ‘Even though I am not completely sure how to begin I am learning how…’ That’s it. The first step is be willing to move forward. You don’t have to know how.

Affirm that throughout the day. Say it and mean it. Muster up as much emotional enthusiasm as you are able and think and say it enthusiastically. Mean it! Commit to it as much as you can. Renew your commitment and repeat every day. ‘I am a positive person’.

‘I think and feel  positive. I feel good about myself. I am in the process of learning to feel more positive. I am taking charge of my thoughts and actions. I am taking charge of my life. It feels good to be positive.’ Or some variation that is meaningful to you. Okay? DO IT.

Talking About Problems Is Our Greatest Addition – Break It

Spend a few concentrated moments each morning and evening. Then throughout the day whenever you are able to. Repeat it out loud or to yourself. To wake up from conditioned trance all it takes is concentration, your imagination and suggestion. You can wake up.

You can be free.  If you want your life to be different you must do different things from what you have been doing. You make some small changes that ultimately are quite powerful. Only 1% change a day will result in 365% change in a year. THAT is impressive. 1%!

Read a little positive inspirational material each day or listen to audios. I recommend, Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich.’ Read a few minutes each day and think about what you read. Make a study of it. Easy does it, but reflect on it. Let it sink in. Make it part of you.

Break The Habit – Talk About Your Joys – Think I Can Do This

Make a list of 25 things that you are grateful for at bedtime. A great habit to develop is to write them in a journal. Find different things each day. If it seems tough at first that is okay. It gets easier as you get used to looking for these. You get what you focus on.

Gratitude is a great way to change everything about you and your life. Each morning I think and say this first thing. ‘I love my life! Something magical is going to happen to me today! I accept all the wonderful gifts of the universe! Today is my day! I love my life.’

You can too! Allow little things to delight and surprise you and you make room for bigger things. You condition yourself for thinking and feeling good. The little bits of time you spend doing this pay off big. See it in your mind, say it and it becomes your reality. It really does.

Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge – Use It – Do It

Use your imagination and visualize yourself as you want to be. Imagine you are already there. You are that person and you are already doing those things. See it. Affirm it. Feel it. You will eventually live it. That is how it works from the inside out!

Concentration, imagination and suggestion. You do each just a little bit each day and you will be surprised how quickly you can change. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Go at your own pace. Slightly challenge yourself to keep it interesting and celebrate everything!”

Discover How The Universe Can Provide What You Need!

“The universe and April provides. The weather, where I currently am has dumped on us a lot of snow and ice. We got a number of  inches last night and it continued today. I took my son and girlfriend to the new Star Wars movie, fell asleep through most of it. So did my son.

We grabbed a pizza at the theater restaurant then went back and watched it again. We enjoyed it. Glad the franchise seems to be back on track under the new leadership. These last two installments are quite good.

When we came out of the theater my car was completely frozen over. With my hands I managed to scrape off enough ice from the windshield to make a small hole to see through. We drove a few blocks to a nearby gas station.

Count Your Blessings Not Your Problems – You’ll Change Your Life

wanted to purchase a scrapper and brush. I pumped some gas just because we were there. Instead of using the pump credit card pay outside option I went in to a buy the brush and scraper. I asked a clerk upon walking in where they were. They were out sold out!

I went to pay for the gas. I decided to pay inside instead of at the pump so I could put the scrapper on the card. It appeared we were going to have to try to find another station that still had some.  April, at the cash register, had overheard me ask one of the other clerks.

She said ‘I have an extra one in my car I’ll give it to you’. I said ‘I’ll buy it’. She said you ‘No I will give it to you’. I said, ‘No really, I’ll pay for it.’  She said, ‘ No really, I’ll just give it to you.’  We could have gone on for a couple more minutes like that.

There is Always Something To Be Thankful For – Notice It

BUT at that moment I surrendered to the gift. I said, ‘Thank you very much’.  We walked outside together. She ran through the snow and ice to her car at the far end of the parking area and then back. Handing me the scrapper said ‘Merry Christmas’.

I said, ‘ Wow! Thanks and Merry Christmas to you!’ I cleared the ice and snow from my windows. I took my son’s girlfriend home, him home, then drove home. Took more than an hour with the snow coming down. At home I sent an email to the gas station corporate.

I shared how April went the extra mile, beyond the call of duty, to do something nice for one of their random customers. I thanked the universe. I am blessed.  It was a good thing too. I used it again today numerous times. The snow keeps coming.

Count Your Blessings And Your Entire Life Can Turn Around

A woman friend and I went to the movies caught LaLa Land and really enjoyed that too. Coming out I scraped a lot of my car. Drove home. She borrowed it to clear her car of ice. Then she drove home. I really have a lot to thank April for.

I have a lot to thank the universe for. Little blessings and large. Day in and day out. I love my life and all the wonderful surprises. Things always work out for the best. Be glad. Be happy. Have fun. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Here’ s How You Can Make The Law Of Reciprocity Work For You!

What is reciprocity? Is is the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit. You and I see it and experience it in action every single day. It works like this. I take you out for lunch and pay. You tell me, next time it is on you. You reciprocate the kindness.

I have a rule which says, Go First! If you want respect from others give them respect first. If you want to be listened to, be willing to and listen to them first. Whatever you want, offer it first, and because of the Law Of Reciprocity you are much more likely to get it back soon.

Get it? That is why people bring gifts to wine and dinner parties. They feel they should. That is why salespeople bring in doughnuts or why companies have candies or treats at trade shows. You take their gift you are more likely to listen or to purchase. It works. So use it.

Life Has  No Menu – You Get Served What You Deserve

Learn to make it work for you to get the good things you want by giving good things to others FIRST! It is the Law Of Attraction at work. Instant karma. What goes around comes around. Practice paying it forward and your world will change in delightful ways!

If you want acceptance and love from your family or friends then you must accept and love them first. The truth is reciprocity works in reverse too. If you resent and dislike others, harbor thoughts or feelings of ill-will, others are more likely to do likewise back to you.

This is important. You get what you  focus on. You get back what you put out there. Perhaps, you want to examine and check your attitude and thoughts about those people close to you. Make sure you are thinking and feeling your best about them. Give them your best.

Life Is A Boomerang – What You Give You Get In Return

You are more apt to gain their co-operation when you need it if you are a likable, lovable, accepting friend or family member. This works with strangers too. Be nice. Light up when you see someone. Compliment them genuinely and your day will become more grand!

Bless people! Bless your family and friends. Wish them well. Give first and you will get back. This is important, Give to Give not to get and your results will be much better. When you are genuine it works wonders. Love, bless, accept others. Be grateful and celebrate everything!’ Rex Sikes

Do This Now If You Want To Improve Everything More Quickly!

“Would you like to accelerate your personal development? Would you like to be free to enjoy more of all life has to offer? Would you like to feel at ease within yourself, and more comfortable at being you? Could you stand to love and accept yourself more?

The secret to being able to do that and to unlock wonderful things is to forgive yourself. Forgive yourself for anything and everything. Cut your self some slack. You made the best choices, at the time, with the information you had available. You did the best you could then.

Forgive yourself. Drop all feelings of not being good enough. You are good enough. Believe it. Forgive yourself and become free to love yourself.  Let go. If you did something that requires you to make amends and you are able to, do it, and move on. Forgive yourself.

Know Yourself And Be Powerful Accept Yourself And Be Invincible

If you can’t make amends, for whatever reason, the person is no longer living or you don’t know where on earth they are, forgive yourself. People do the best with what they have and what they know in any given moment. You have. You did. Forgive yourself.

Love yourself. Appreciate yourself for forgiving yourself. Appreciate yourself for becoming aware. Understand you are perfect even with perfections.  Cut yourself some slack! Give yourself permission to be who you are. Allow you to be you. Accept yourself. Love yourself.

Celebrate yourself. Be grateful for mistakes because they are the opportunity to learn and evolve. Be grateful for the good times. Be grateful for your body that has sustained you through these years. Be grateful for the people around you because they reflect you.

The Moment You Accept Yourself You Become Beautiful

You are reason to celebrate. You are the reason the universe sings and dances. God needs you as much as you need god. The universe rejoiced when you showed up. Celebrate and delight. Let go and let yourself smile more, laugh more, learn more and love more. Delight!

Think of a row of flowers. Each one similar to the next except different. Each one perfect in its own right. Each one flawed in some way. All growing together bending in the wind. Sun and rain on each. And each one simply being and doing what it is. Living and growing. Forgive yourself. Accept yourself. Love yourself. Celebrate yourself. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Whether Or Not You Realize It You Are Doing This To Your Self!

“What do you want? That is an important question. Some want money, stardom, love, fun, family, excitement, simplicity, relaxation and more. Some want better toys and things. Some want to connect deeply with another person. Others want to find their purpose.

Science indicates more and more that what goes on in our outer world, that which we call reality, is actually a reflection of our inner world. Our brains interpret trillions of bits of data that come into us through our senses. We assimilate and draw conclusions.

Our data is run through perceptual filters and then filtered again based on our beliefs, values, conditioning and experiences. We make all sorts of inner transforms and computations outside of of conscious awareness and create a personal map of reality.

Your Inner World Reflects Your Outer World

This map is individual and shared. It is agreed upon outside of awareness. It becomes a governing by consensus. We share a ‘common reality’ or map while we have an ‘individual map’. These can wildly differ while agreeing at the same time. This is amazing.

We are map makers and meaning makers. We assign value to a representation of reality, that we create, because we don’t actually experience reality EXCEPT through our neurological filters. We are steps removed from it. We only know our filtered, created reality.

Our ‘reality’ is a projection. A version of what’s ‘out there’ or ‘in here’ because by filtering data we leave things out. We aren’t even aware it is missing. It is deleted. We either never received it because it was filtered OR we are unaware of it because it is out of our awareness.

To Change The Outer World – You Must Change The Inner World

We distort things. A good example of this is Van Gough paintings. They are a creative distortion of what is ‘out there’. This is a talent. Plus, we generalize. We can recognize many different forms of chairs without having to learn each every time. We are talented.

Our filters limit us but they are also the basis of our creativity and genius. We have to work with what we have, don’t we?  So though neurological transforms we create a map of reality, a representation, or better yet a re-representation, of what is out there. It is a map.

According to science, AND mystics, religious leaders and philosophers we don’t really have much to do with reality. We only know re-representations of it. It is just as if we have an actual road map of our entire life and universe. Our brains map our reality.

The Map Is Not The Territory – The Map Is The Map

Hence, we draw conclusions, make rules, form beliefs, all on limited bits of filtered information which is missing elements and distorted. We don’t have the whole truth in its entirety! We have a map put together of snippets of this and that. Our map is incomplete!

Remember maps you hold in your hand? Now days we have GPS. It is the same. It is a detailed representation of the roadways so we can navigate. It doesn’t contain everything you see along the road. It can’t. It is a representation of what is there. It is smaller and limited.

Our maps are smaller and limited than what is actually ‘out there’. They are incomplete. We live in a microcosm. We don’t have a complete picture. We couldn’t. The map by definition IS smaller than what it portrays. We have an incomplete road map of our universe.

Remember You Operate From The Map Not From Reality

We may have many maps and share many similar maps. To the degree that we share and understand each other’s maps is the degree to which we have rapport. We can understand where the other person is ‘coming from’. We have elements in common.

We see through the glass dimly. We impose our inner reality, our map, on the outer reality, We use the lessor to define the greater and miss many important things. There are no limitations in reality. The limitations exist in our map. Limitations exist in our thinking.

That is why Henry Ford could correctly say, ‘Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are correct’. If we want things to be different for us we need to make better maps. We need to stop limited thinking and think better. The outer reflects the inner.

Make A Better Map – Create What You Want – Say Yes To Life

I repeat. The outer is a reflection of the inner because the inner is all we actually have. We mistakenly think we are dealing with the outer but at all times we are dealing with our re-representation of what we think is going on based on our neurological filtering. Whew!

So to the point. Life, out there, mirrors our thoughts. We create the reality we live in either consciously or non-consciously. The sooner we realize this and take responsibility for it the sooner we can begin to have more of what we want to have. We can become deliberate.

Instead of haphazard creation based on prior faulty conditioning we can choose consciously what we deliberately intend to experience and we can take inspired action steps to bring that new reality about. AS you keep your thoughts positive you create a positive life.

Limitations Don’t Exist In Reality – Limitations Exist In The Map

You create new experiences because you brain looks for these opportunities you otherwise miss. You get what you focus on. If you are focused on problems you are apt to miss positive opportunities as they present because the opportunities aren’t in your awareness.

They aren’t in your map. If the location you want to travel to isn’t on your map how would you get there? Life mirrors thought. If you keep your thoughts positive you create a more positive life. You create more positive experiences. You notice more! You experience more!

Say yes to life and life will say yes to you! You get back what you put out. What you think about you become. Get it? Be grateful and enjoy all of it and all of it can transform in wildly wonderful ways. YOU are doing it! You are changing your map! Understand? Do you?

“My philosophy honed from over 40 years of training, and the rest of the years of my own life, is go ahead and dip your toes in the crap pool but dive into the wonderful, incredible pool. Immerse yourself in the goodness by keeping yourself focused on positive feelings.

Does this mean we are never angry, fearful, doubtful or sad? Absolutely not. It means we feel what is going on. We allow it. Accept it and then move on. We acknowledge difficulties but we don’t get caught in them. We don’t wallow in our problems.

Too many people bask in the crap when they could, read that again, they COULD bask in all the wonderfulness life offers. They do it because they were conditioned to do it. They really don’t know, or have any better way to think or behave. It is all they know and do.

You Can Do Anything You Set Your Mind To It Takes Perseverance

I am for being a mental warrior, a champion. Bring discipline to your mind and feelings so you can discover what is possible when you do. If you don’t do it you won’t know. AND what you don’t know and have no experience in YOU don’t know and have no experience in.

That doesn’t mean you will never know only that you don’t know how it could be different right now in your present. In order to know and experience the difference you must do something different. You do understand this, right? If you do not know YOU DO NOT KNOW.

You cannot keep doing things exactly the same way and expect things to change or be different.  If you always do what you always did you DO ALWAYS get what you ALWAYS GOT. That is how it works. This isn’t rocket science it is quite simple and easy to grasp.

Will It Be Easy – Nope – Will It Be Worth It – Absolutely

You keep doing things over and over again that you may not want to because habits are reliable. They work automatically. They are neural pathways of behaviors that you learned through repetition over time. They are well practiced and rehearsed. They are habits!

This may include negative thinking and limiting beliefs, feeling sad or anxious, or biting your nails, twisting your hair or smoking. Each habit is developed either by repeated exposure or repeated practice. For something to become a habit you have to do it over and over.

You may not have considered it practice to smoke but each time you sucked on a cigarette you were practicing the habit, and developing the habit of smoking. Same is true about biting your nails, feeling bad or thinking you are worthless. You did it enough times to master it.

Focus – You Can Do This – Repetition Is The Mother Of Skill

You learned a skill that resulted in less than glorious thoughts feelings and behaviors. Get it? It actually is a learned behavior as is any skill you have ever learned. Walking, talking, reading, writing, and each and everything that you do well. Those are habits too.

There is the opportunity to change each of less than glorious habits. Since you learned them to begin with you can learn to replace them. It takes focus, dedication and perseverance. Many people try quitting smoking many times using many methods.  Right?

Because they haven’t quit yet doesn’t mean they can’t quit. Unless they decide it is impossible and keep doing it. You can do anything you decide you can do. To change, first decide you are bigger than the challenge facing you. Second, cut the problem down to size.

You Get What You Focus On – If You Dream It You Can Do It

Approach it with successive baby steps. You are bigger than your problem and you break it into tiny manageable bits. It is like climbing a ladder to the top. You go up one wrung at a time. You eat and elephant bite by bite. You travel one step after the other.

Some people have never learned to do this. If you haven’t yet then this is your starting place. You need to first learn how to think powerfully and positively. Learn to manage and control your thoughts and feelings. Everything is easier after you learn this.

Master your thoughts and feelings and your challenges become more easily dealt with. You transform yourself into a person of solutions instead of a person who has problems. Is it easy? No, not always. Some days it is harder than others. BUT It is simple.

Instead Of Why You Can’t Give Yourself Reasons Why You Can

It is not complicated. You can do each piece. Are push ups easy when you start doing them at first? Nope. Do your muscles get sore? Yep. The same is true of mental conditioning. You will have good days and bad days. Get over that. That is what life is, sunshine and rain.

You can have far more better days, feeling better than ever before when you apply yourself and learn how. It can be incredibly amazing but you won’t know until you actually do it. If you begin and quit you won’t know. You have to succeed to know what success is all about.

If you are like some people, you will claim you tried it, but IT doesn’t work. You assume because you gave it a shot, but didn’t continue, that you know all about it and how it doesn’t work. The brutal truth is you didn’t do it long enough or well enough to succeed at it.

What The Mind Of Man Can Conceive And Believe It Can Achieve

That is not to blame you. That is to get you to take responsibility for what you do. Hey, if you don’t like snails after you ate a few, you are allowed to say, ‘I don’t like snails. I tried them and I don’t enjoy eating them.’ Okay, just own up to what you did and what you don’t do.

Perhaps, you didn’t try all the possible variations until you found one you did enjoy, but you did try them and didn’t like them. Saying ‘I don’t like them’ is not the same as saying ‘snails are horrible’ or ‘nobody should eat snails because they are bad’. Do you get this?

Yet this is what many people do. They give something a shot and then conclude there is something wrong or not valuable because they weren’t able to make it work for them. You must hang in there. It isn’t that IT works it is that YOU work. You make the difference.

Start Where You Are – Use What You Have – Do What You Can

Don’t say, ‘I did a bicep curl a couple times and nothing happened. Bicep curls are foolish. Any one who does them is wasting their time.’ That may be your opinion but who cares. Opinions don’t matter much when it comes to reality. However, they help shape the reality.

Opinions shape your experience. It is likely you may not know the benefits of bicep curls or snails because your opinions may prevent you from ever trying them again. SO YOU WILL NEVER EVER KNOW and if you are okay with that so am I. Just own it.

Don’t blame others or circumstances or make excuses or whine. Own that it is not for you after a couple of non-successful attempts. Admit that you don’t know if it works or not. Maybe it does maybe it doesn’t but YOU are not willing to find out. THAT at least is honest!

Action Is The Proper Fruit Of Knowledge – Talk Is Cheap – Do It

Be honest with yourself and others. If you do things that others have done for centuries, that have worked for the people who have made it work, it is likely, ultimately, it will work for you too. Figuring out how to make it work seems more important than giving up.

But that is just how I think about it. Make it work. Find or create a way. Develop your power and your mental toughness and positivity to the point where you can make, create and attract what you do want. Make it so. That is the choice you have. Do it or don’t do it.

If you decide to do it realize you are not an expert to begin with. You need to have realistic time expectations. Everything takes time. An oak tree takes time to grow. It takes time to get good at baseball, playing a piano, becoming a chef or chess player or a swimmer.

Only You Can Change Your Life – No One Can Do It For You

Yes, you can get some experience early on but to become proficient, to become a master, takes time. Learning to control your thoughts and feelings and behaviors after however many years of not doing this, will take some time. Everything takes SOME time, doesn’t it?

It may surprise you how quickly things can begin to shift for you, especially if you do a little bit daily. BUT expect to be in for the long haul. If you commit to ‘I will do whatever it takes for as long as it takes’ you are well on your way IF you really mean it.

That is why people who bottom out often become great successes. They have no other choice. It is either move upward or stay on the bottom. Once they decide they hate the bottom and won’t accept being there any longer they move to get what they want.

Change  I Can’t Into I Can – Pretty Soon You’ll Say – I Did

You can too. I hope you don’t have to bottom out to do so, but if you think about it as if you have no other choice but to succeed, then you can. It is either I do this or… If you are 1000% committed and there is no stopping you YOU will succeed.

Now let me tell you about a man whose story I was recently introduced to. You know that an Iron Man Triathlon is one of the most grueling forms of self punishing competition there is. You swim for miles. Bike for miles. Run for miles. It is brutal on the body.

Some who attempt don’t finish. Some do one so they can say they have. Can you imagine how you must feel doing one of those? If you make it, it must be elating. If you make it I image it must hurt too. I have never done one so I can’t say. I can imagine, however.

A Positive Attitude Gives You Power Over Your Circumstances

From reports I have heard some people suffer a lot. They do, however, consider it worth it. Some, in spite of the pain and hardship decide to do another one. Can you imagine that? All the training. The sweat, blood, tears. Then the competition. Let’s do it again! Huh?

James Lawrence, The Iron Cowboy, has done a few. He decided to do 50 Iron Man competitions. That is a heck of a lot of triathlons, wouldn’t you say? 50 and he completed 50! Isn’t that amazing? That is truly being dedicated. WOW, can you imagine that?

NOT ONLY did he complete 50 competitions he did it in 50 days AND  in 50 states! Do you understand this? 50 of the toughest competitions mankind has in 50 consecutive days in 50 STATES. That meant do the ironman and travel. That meant no recovery time.

Do It – Be Brave Take Risks – There’s No Substitute For Experience

That meant do it, finish, travel to next competition and do it again the very next day. Then do it again and again. He completed all 50 in spite of the fact that every expert, athlete, doctor and triathlon competitor said it was impossible. They all said not doable. NOPE!

Not only not doable but lunacy to think it possible. Right? They told us the 4 minute mile was impossible. They said, we would never fly or reach the moon. Who said it exactly? Why the experts of the day, of course. The authorities. Those in the know. All said NOPE!

Mr. Lawrence was told he could not succeed! BUT HE DID! He holds the records. The most Iron Mans in a year. He first did 30 in eleven countries. That was 2012. In 2015 this 36 year old swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles and ran 26.2 miles each and every day for 50 days.

Positive Attitude Changes Everything You Get What You Focus On

My point? He is born into the same world you and I are the same way. The difference between you and me and him is he decided he would do it then he set out to accomplish it. He didn’t think magically it would be attracted to him. He created the challenge.

He met the challenge with no other talents other than being human and committed. You and I COULD do likewise. Perhaps, we could even surpass his record if we would only try. Even if we didn’t reach 50 we would do more than we might have because we had a goal.

Because we were committed to going further than we ever had before. If one can do it, others can. After the 4 minute mile was broken numerous people did it within months of the record being set. Since then it has constantly been broken again and again.

Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t – You’re Right

That is because once something is done by one person others begin to believe it is possible. If you believe something is possible you are well on your way to achieving it. If you don’t believe it possible you won’t ever personally know because you won’t attempt it.

Or you will give up after awhile stating , ‘I knew it couldn’t be done’. Don’t let your own thoughts prevent you from being the best you you can be. Learn to take control of your thoughts and emotions and behaviors and make the world your oyster.

Find out what you can do when you put energy into it. This is how you evolve yourself. This is how you overcome adversity and defeat. YOU meet it head on realizing YOU are bigger than any challenge. Develop the champion mindset and don’t let anything stop you and you will be triumphant. Do it. Celebrate it! Then celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Go Beyond What You Already Know Because The Possibilities Are Endless!

Today is all we have but today gives way to tomorrow. What we do this day influences the next. What we do not do today influences the next, as well. Some people never move because they are comfortable in their dissatisfaction. They tolerate a lot. They stand still.

There is a saying based in truth. ‘Standing is harder than moving’. We were made to move. As it is we are far too sedentary. We spend way too much time not moving and many of our medical issues are the result. We can’t stand or stay in one place. Not moving hurts us.  So…

Grab A Pen And Become The Author Of Your Life

If you are dissatisfied you may be at just the right place to put some action into your lifestyle. You may be ready to make a change. This is a great place to be. Dissatisfaction can help move you forward. It can help you get away from your troubles or problems. If so, great!

Be happy things suck enough to get you to do something right now. That’s what happened to me. I had hard turns that got really difficult. One bad thing after another. I tolerated for a long time and then said, ‘wow, you have to make some changes’. I took control.

Everything changed. Are there stills rocks and challenges? You bet there are. The difference is I am different. Rocks are rocks so what. Once, I had hoped, thought, wished, expected that life would be free of all rocks. It doesn’t work that way. We change the rocks remain.

As Long As You Say What You Have You Will Have What You Say

I love my life. If you don’t love yours yet, you can. Decide to take control of yourself. Take control of your thoughts and emotions. It is absolutely worth it! One day you will look back and see what you brought about. You will look back and see how far you came.

Imagine, if three years or one year, or if in six months from now you were to look back and notice how far you had come wouldn’t that be worth it? What if you can see yourself having made many positive changes, would you like what you see? It can be this! It can be better.

Stop, and imagine the life you want to create. See yourself having begun today, as you look back at that moment, when you decide to change yourself and take control. See all the changes to your lifestyle, the money, the love, the leisure, the fulfillment. Notice!

Choose To Smile When Life Frowns – Choose Victory Over Defeat

As you think about that life now, you would notice, your decision to move forward today made all the difference in the world for you. That today you began a positive, productive journey that took you beyond limitations and into your resourcefulness and new heights.

So use your present circumstances to move you forward. Whatever they are. If you want them to be different decide that you will make them different. Decide now you will. This is the first step. Commit to taking the your first steps. It is all good. Make the change today!

Make this change now and you have something wonderful to look forward to and back on. If not, you may miss out on many positive things. Our perceptions form the reality we live within. Our mindset and beliefs determine what we will go for and what we will achieve.

Imagine Your New Life Fully And Completely – Keep Visioning It

What prevents most people from living their dreams is a thought. Don’t let a thought stop you. Instead, stop and take a deep breath and see the bright new future out there waiting for you to make it happen. In your mind take your first steps toward it. Go for it!

Go beyond what you presently know and anything is possible! What you don’t know you don’t know. What you do know often limits you. It provides you the reasons and the excuses for not taking action. Stop! Go beyond both. You’ll discover things you couldn’t otherwise.

That opens everything up for you. The possibilities and potential is endless. Decide to be different. Then congratulate yourself for deciding. Be grateful and practice gratitude for everything. AND keep deciding to be in charge. Do it! Moment to moment.

Live your decision. Be different. Be grateful.  Fill your heart with genuine thankfulness. That will pave the way for more. Discover even the tinest things to be appreciative about. Law Of Attraction Simplified Enough For Dummies

“We are either drawing to us or pushing away. Either we attract or we repel. Those are the two possibilities. Consider magnets. Either the pull together or they push apart. This is the law of attraction. What you need to know is which you are doing at any given moment.

A plant is either growing or it is dying. Which are you doing most of the time. Are you attracting what you want or repelling it? Are you creating what you want or creating what you don’t want. These are hard questions for many people because few will take responsibility.

Instead they blame others or the circumstances. The reality is you determine how you handle the circumstances. You determine what you do or don’t do to bring about what you want or what you don’t want. You are either working with or working against. Get it?

The Person You Are Destined To Become Is Who You Decide To Be

If you claim you aren’t doing anything but letting the cards fall where they may then you aren’t doing anything in your favor. You are actually working against yourself. Instead of shaping your destiny you are willing to drift. So if you don’t get what you want, so be it.

Either you are positive or negative. Which is it? Whatever you are most of the time determines the overall quality of your existence. This IS important to understand especially if you want things to get better. You can’t continue on as you have and expect it different.

It will remain the same. You decide what it is going to be. You are either on or off. Make a decision how you will think and how you will live. Decide what you want and how you want it to be. Then decide to make it happen. Go after it. Do something that helps you.

To Live The Greatest Life You Must Become A Leader Within You

Take the bull by the horns. Don’t wait and don’t expect things to change. YOU change them. You do it. You make it happen. You work to make it different. You begin controlling your thoughts and feelings and behaviors. It is all up to you and not anyone else.

In an upcoming post I’ll share why this is important from a quantum physics point of view. Meanwhile, what is important is that you run your own brain and life.
