How To Change Your Limitations Into Opportunities

“Why do people opt for the less than glorious? Why do the maintain their problems and limitations? Why do they make changing hard work that requires effort? Have you ever considered this?

One of the reasons for this is that people adopt notions, beliefs, frames of minds and attitude that include concepts such as, ‘without pain there is no gain’. Or ‘it isn’t real or worth it unless you work really hard and suffer’.

Or ‘happiness is being unrealistic’, OR ‘you can’t be happy all the time’.  There may be  many reasons or excuses why someone opts to feel bad instead of feeling good. They may not think it is possible or that they deserve it.

Success Is An Attitude A Mindset A Decision A Commitment

They may put all sorts of conditions and requirements on it. They may have an unrealistic view of what it means to be happy or to be a positive thinker. I could go on and on I am sure. If you are a person who embraces some of these you might wish to consider them as things you assume are true but which may not actually be true.

It gets a bit tricky. People tend to defend their beliefs very strongly. They don’t want to believe that they may not be true. We think they are. We cling to them and insist we know what is best and what is right. We each feel as if we have a monopoly on the truth.

Most of us certainly act as if we do.  We don’t BUT we think we do. We are prepared to argue the case strongly to prove others wrong and ourselves correct. Most likely, we already have numerous times. We defend our beliefs even if they border on the ridiculous.

You Can Have Anything If You Give Up The Belief You Can’t

We just hate to be wrong about things. In order to begin to be free and move more freely into a new way of being we have to be willing to allow some room for anything else to be possible. We need to be willing to explore some other options even just a little bit.

Before you get into bed at night you remove your clothing. Perhaps, you put on other bed clothes that are more comfortable. Still, you change. You take off, you remove your clothes. Consider all of your beliefs as articles of clothing. Use your imagination!

Imagine! You can remove your beliefs in the same way. Take them off, fold them up, or hang them up and try some other beliefs on for a time being. Yours are still there where you left them. Don’t worry. You can always get them back whenever you wish, if you must.

As You Believe So You Are

Relax, they are right there.  What is the worst that would happen if you tried on other beliefs? Really, what is the worst thing that could happen if you believed you could always be happy? What if you believed happiness is a choice you can make? What if you make it?

Imagine believing differently for just a little while. What if you could entertain the opposite of limiting beliefs? What if you imagined you can find love, be successful, have all the money you desire, be debt free, own a great car and a beautiful home? Imagine it is all possible.

What if instead of thinking ‘I couldn’t’ or ‘I can’t’, you thought, ‘I could’ or ‘I can’? How might your life be different in a positive way?What if you created space, actually gave yourself some space, to allow for other possibilities? How freeing would it be? Imagine.

Belief Creates The Actual Fact

Can you give yourself permission to belief things differently? What would life be like if you had all the love, health, wealth and success you could find in life? Would you allow it? What if you could be truly happy in spite of any difficulty? Imagine your life differently!

If you could be and believe anything you wanted what might that be? What if you believed the exact opposite of what you already hold to be true? Can you entertain this notion for a little while. What might your life look like, sound like and feel like if you believed things more positively and productively more of the time? Visualize it!

Some people wear their beliefs as tight, clingy clothing. They may be better served to wear a more relaxed, loose fit. If you don’t believe you can get good things without suffering look around and find examples of others who have plenty of good things. You can too!

Always Believe Something Wonderful Is About To Happen

What do you think? Do you think you could believe that? Could you do that? Could you easily replace your beliefs that you have held for a long time with other beliefs? Do you think it would be difficult to do or easy? Because what ever you think you are right.

How you answer, mostly stems from your mindset, your model, your beliefs and attitudes of what is and isn’t possible, what is or isn’t likely, what you can or can’t do easily. If you want your life to change you have to change some things in your life. Really, you must.

Play with this. Notice what it is like to entertain other possibilities. Do you prefer these? If so, adopt them. If not, let them go. Realize any time you try something new on you might not be immediately comfortable. It may take some time to get used to.

To Succeed We Must First Believe We Can

So don’t be too hasty. Sometime, getting comfortable takes a little time. It’s okay. Walk a mile in someone’s shoes. Why a mile? Because it takes some time to get used to. Some people have difficulty falling asleep in a hotel bed, or in a guest room because it isn’t their bed.

They aren’t used to it, it is foreign, unfamiliar and not comfortable. Sometimes, it takes a while to enjoy a new food or beverage. You don’t instantly enjoy it. However, the more you taste it the more it grows on you. Sometimes you need to do it more than once.

So give the new beliefs a little time to discover if they fit. Play with them, live from them. Find out if they serve you better. Enjoy the exploration. Have fun, be gentle and explore your limitations and what it is like to go beyond them into new areas. Do it! Really.

Endless Possibilities Exist Just Beyond Your Belief System

It can be glorious and it can be a little frightening. Whatever it is, is what it is. Whatever it is it is all okay. Celebrate it and you will discover many nuances you might not have otherwise noticed. Find nuances. In fact, celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Neuroplasticity Defined In 1912 Verified Recently With PET Technology

“This is so cool! A book written in 1912 describes what we now know today.  Because of technology we presently have the means to verify what was claimed back over 100 years ago. Even further back.

They knew without having the ability to prove it.  Since the advent of PET, CAT and MRI technologies we now know what happens in the brain as people think. We can see it. What is cool is they knew it long ago without any of this supporting technology.

The brain actually evolves. It develops new neural pathways and alters its structure. It can do so for the better or for the not so good. Either it grows healthier or unhealthier. Scientists can determine, post mortem, a happy brain from an unhappy one.

Today, we can image these results how the brain changes and grows neural networks. 100 years ago and more we could not. Frequently, science only confirms what we already know to be the case, and that is okay.

I leave you with this fascinating quote by Charles Haanel, a pioneer in the New Thought movement. Haanel and others, at the turn of the 20th century, made remarks about brain and body that ancient teachers proclaimed centuries before.

Current research into brain confirms neuroplasticity; and the notion that we have more than one brain, receptors in the gut; that heart coherence plays an important role. It inform us, how we learn and develop habits and evolve ourselves.

This quote describes neuroplasticity and the matching function of the Reticular Activating System (RAS) I discussed a lot in this blog. I think it is pretty darn cool. Perhaps, you will as well.

‘Every thought brings into action certain physical tissue, parts of the brain, nerve or muscle. This produces an actual physical change in the construction of the tissue. Therefore it is only necessary to have a certain number of thoughts on a given subject in order to bring about a complete change in the physical organization of a man.  This is the process by which failure is changed to success.

Thoughts of courage, power, inspiration, harmony, are substituted for thoughts of failure, despair, lack, limitation and discord, and as these thoughts take root, the physical tissue is changed and the individual sees life in a new light,  old things have actually passed away, all things have become new, he is born again, this time born of the spirit, life has a new meaning for him, he is reconstructed and is filled with joy, confidence, hope, energy.

He sees opportunities for success to which he was heretofore blind. He recognizes possibilities which before had no meaning for him. The thoughts of success with which he has been impregnated are radiated to those around him, and they in turn help him onward and upward; he attract to him new and successful associates, and this in turn changes his environment; so that by this simple exercise of thought, a man changes not only himself, but his environment, circumstances and conditions.’ Charles Haanel, The Master Key.

We can learn a lot from those who have gone before us. There is much wisdom in some older writings. I love to study them. This quote provides us another example of how all knowledge is always available. We just don’t know how to discover it, until we do. Then in looking back it becomes obvious. Could Social Media And The News Cost You Your Dreams?

“Do you think you have an accurate view of the world today? What is your place in the world? Are you able to easily make your dreams come true? What do you think?  Would you like to conduct a little experiment, some investigative research, on your own for a few days.

I’ll keep publishing blogs while you do, but I wanted to invite you, give your the opportunity, to examine something for yourself. If you are game, I hope you will have a go at it.

First things first. Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnegie, among others,  were big proponents of accurate thinking. Unfortunately, most people are prone to gossip, media distraction, rumor and being a bit too gullible at times. They are easily lead astray. Do you think you are?

Without vetting the sources, the reports and the stories,  people erroneously believe or accept the ‘news’ or information they pay attention to. Then they pass that information along. Much is not accurate. Some is downright deceptive and manipulative.

However, most people don’t even not know this because they don’t bother to check. They accept it without much question. Not that long ago people used to get their news either in the morning, evening or prior to bed.

Now we are exposed to it 24 hours seven days a week without end. You can’t escape it if you use the internet.

Hill encouraged  readers to put their mental faculties to good use. He urged readers to insist on accurate, reliable information that was reported honestly. That way, when the time came, and if need be, they could make a well-informed decision.

Then they could  act or move forward productively based on it. You want reliable information when making important decisions, don’t you? Today, we have tremendous access to all kinds of information. Quantity is high, but what about the quality? Is it reliable and accurate? I will go further and ask, is it even truthful?

Hill boiled accurate thinking down to two important practices:

1.  Separate facts from opinions, fictions, unproved hypotheses, and hearsay.

2. Separate facts into two categories: important and unimportant.

He postulated, and I would agree, that few people do either of these. The first one takes effort. We have footwork to do. We must not just passively accept media messages as true. They might be but they might not be. Be vigilant. Test! Don’t blindly accept things.

I would add that more people today get caught up in the unimportant. They aren’t good at separating the two. People are distracted from what is relevant and important. Social media is a major time and attention suck.

We’re bombarded by juicy bits and distracted most of the time.

Here is a thought experiment you can conduct on your own. Go through headlines for the past 30, 50 or 100 years. Examine them Compare and contrast. Use any and all media; it can be newspaper, magazines, television , and the internet.

Notice whether the stories have changed much at all? The details will differ. For example, there are different wars, different celebrities. That is a given.

Note which themes reoccur? How frequently do the same issues arise? What does media keep the public focused on continuously? You may be surprised by what you discover.

It is true, players, come and go, parties change, events occur but notice whether the topics or themes ever change, or change much? What does media keep us paying attention to? Why might they do do this? Whose interests does it serve? What are we distracted for?

See if you detect patterns. What do you think you will find? I’m sure you already have thoughts about the media, news and reporting in general. Are we discussing anything really new or is a lot of it the same? Feel free to  post you discoveries in the comments.

Well, What Did You Expect? What Is The Basis Of Your Pain?

“Hey, sorry the blog is late! Actually, no it isn’t. It is right on time. I wanted to do something a bit different today to try to illustrate something in a small way. A very small way, perhaps.

What did you expect? Did you expect it to be there in your mail box at the usual time? When it wasn’t then what? Maybe, no big deal. It doesn’t matter, you may not have even noticed. BUT what if you did?

Our expectations shape our world. It is an inner phenomenon more than an outer world one. It is in the category of believing is seeing. We are creatures of habit.

What You Say Is What You Get

We tend to like things the same. We get used to it. We expect there to be a consistency in others and events. We want it. This is quite normal. All part of being human.

So regarding this blog. If you are fairly new to receiving it you may not have time to have developed any expectation of delivery. On the other, had you already received the 500 plus, then you may have.

You may not care about the blog. It is nice but not necessary. It doesn’t have high signal value. That is fine. What about things that do? What about the people in our life?

What You See Is What You Get

What happens inside us? What do we see or visualize in our mind when a loved one is uncharacteristically late? Do you have a change in self-talk as well? What do you begin to say to yourself?

Is it positive or negative? We either feel good or not so good based on what we expect, or imagine to be the case. In the loved one example, if they show up, but late, we may be relieved.

We may be relieved and angry. They could be surprised by our reaction saying ‘RELAX!!!’ The point is something changed in us because we got used to things being a certain way.

You Already Affirm Your Experience – Good Or Bad

When they aren’t as we are used to extra activity begins inside us. We believe things about ourself, others, events and the world. We tend to see things not as they are but as we imagine.

Something changes out of the ordinary, what happens within? How do we react? Do we react out of habit? Do we find ourselves traveling chronic old ways of behavior and self talk. Well?

This blog thing is a tiny, insignificant, example. Whether you noticed it being late or not, perhaps, you will consider and evaluate how ‘things’ or ‘circumstances’ affect you. Think about it? Take time.

You Thoughts, You, Shape Your Results And Your Reality

What expectations do you live from? Yes, we expect sunrise, start there. What do you expect to happen each day? What do you expect of yourself? Loved ones? Friends? Strangers? The barista?

See if you can discover how sometimes you create your own pain because of your expectations? Sometimes, you create your own joy? Explore. Discover? Expectations is another word for beliefs?

What do you believe should be the case? What are your rules? How should things be? When, where and according to whom? Who says it should be any way? You, THEM, who decides?

Exploration Is The Doorway To Adventure

Do you think this is a worthwhile exercise? Why? Why not? Will you do it? Who knows, you may notice or learn something you were not aware of. Then what? Will that be good or not so good?

The Secret Knack Some Already Know: How You Can Get What You Want In Life

“Do you want a happening career? Do you want to get a great job? Would you like to be happier? Want more money? Are you interested in the good life? People try all sorts of things; they work really hard, hope, prayer, they bargain, try magic and the law of attraction.

How do you get what you want? Lot’s of people work hard but don’t get anywhere. They try all those things but still struggle. That is sad. I think they can have what they want if they work smarter not necessarily harder. They could stop trying and start getting instead. It is not that difficult once you understand how.

I don’t like the term ‘the law of attraction’ but  I use it occasionally to discuss what you can make happen. The practice is powerful and absolutely works but it is not the ‘instant magic pill’ people wish it to be.  When they find out ‘it’ doesn’t match their unrealistic expectations they quit, blame it for not working, and move on.

To Bring Anything Into Your Life Imagine It Is Already There 

When I say it isn’t magic I mean it doesn’t come from outside of you. No one waves a magic wand. It all stems from within you. It is a process and it requires time, so be patient. It is absolutely reliable. It does work AND it is completely up to you. What is the law of attraction then?

It is the harnessing and focusing of your internal mental powers. That means you focus on your goal with such desire, such passion, that all else falls away. You target your goal with laser like precision. All of your energy is devoted to making this come true. With your brain and your being you make it happen.

Your goal begins as an idea that you make real. You create it and then you fashion it. It is all you! You focus your energies and resources the same way you aim a magnifying glass to focus light and burn paper. That same paper can sit in unfocused daylight forever and never burn. You use the power of concentrated focus!

You Attract Whatever You Give Your Attention To

You marshall your resources and abilities. Your intention and attention is so devoted to what you want. Your subconscious works on this day and night. It comes up with ideas and plans for how you can accomplish it. You do not have to know how in order to begin. Your subconscious initiates these processes as you move forward.

As you act the ‘how’ is taken care of by you brain. It makes the connections and generates ideas for the how. Your may change your plans many times en route to your destination. Still, keep proceeding to where you want to get. Don’t give up. Don’t quit. If obstacles arise detour, but keep going. Persist.

Along the way you begin to understand that success never happens in isolation. If you are smart you do things that attract and enlist the aid of others. You develop your personality to be likable. You make certain you are someone others would want to help. You apply the Golden Rule for this purpose.

Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes

You genuinely respect and like people. You go the extra mile and add value first. Help without having to be asked. Surround yourself with others who are smarter than you and who have talents and abilities you do not. That way you don’t need to know how to do everything because there are friendly others who can help you .

They support you because you support others. You celebrate each other. Together, you work in pursuit of your goal as a team. You are a valued player. Through cooperation you all move ahead. Life is wonderful because you surround yourself with positive and inspiring people. You are one too.

With your mind and energies focused your brain becomes alerted to others, events and opportunities that are beneficial.  Wonderful things come your way because you are more attractive. Friendliness, commitment, drive and your passion are attractive. This is how you attract opportunity to yourself like a magnet.

Whatever You Consistently Hold In Your Mind You Experience

You become a beacon, a  light others are drawn to. You evolved yourself. You make everything happen. You are responsible. You are a deliberate creator. You and the other people help you succeed. You discover and create opportunities. There is no reason to be egotistical. Together you make it.

You started it. You have to maintain it. Keep going until you have what you want.  Value your time and energy and use it wisely to accomplish your dreams. Because you have surrounded yourself with like minded dedicated people together you can discover more opportunity.

Enjoy this new good life as it  comes to you; that you draw your way. Celebrate and appreciate everything. Be thankful and express it freely. Remain humble and, yet, certain. Keep the faith always. Obstacles that arise are learning opportunities. Remember, all defeat is temporary unless you give up. So keep going.

You Are The Designer Of Your Destiny

Maintain your focus. Keep up your positive mental attitude and your positive, productive actions, behaviors and practices. Develop positive, reliable habits and eliminate the old worn out ones. Replace tired, chronic defeatist thinking with powerful, positive thoughts. It is far, far easier than you might even imagine.

You have evolved yourself and your life. Looking back you can connect the dots and see how you made it happen. While going through it keep the desire high and the faith high. Believe in yourself and you ability to go after and get what you want. Keep going no matter what.

When finished you will know the law of attraction works.You will have created and attracted what you want. Once you have put it all into practice it is easy to do again and again. Live the life of a creator. Your thoughts become things. What you focus on you get. It gets easier the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time. You develop the knack for it.

Turn Your Dreams Into Reality

Live with gratitude and appreciation. Help others. Most don’t and won’t ever live this way, but you can, if you only will. Celebrate and enjoy! Delight and make more moments marvelous. Have fun and enjoy all the good things you were born to enjoy. The world is your paradise. Love it and care for it. The Law Of Attraction is YOU!” Rex Sikes

Your Beliefs About Money Matter!

“Do you deserve to be rich? Do you struggle to make ends meet?What do you think and believe about money? Is the love of money the root of all evil? How much are you entitled to? How come few others have lots of it while most others have little? What is it about money?

Only one person left a comment here when I made the tithing post.  I received numerous other comments from people in other areas on social media and by email. That tithing post created a little heat. People felt compelled to tell me their ideas on where and with whom to tithe and why.  A few did not want the churches to get the money.

Money is an area ripe for exploration. We all have so many beliefs, rules and regulations around it. Some people don’t think they are worthy of having lots of money. Others think money is evil. Others think of money as a tool for more comfortable living. Others fight to get even a little bit of it. Do you know how much money there is????

There Is Always More Than Enough For Everyone

TONS of it. Trillions and trillions of dollars are circulating each moment. Some love money, perhaps, a bit too much while others understand abhor it. They want it, need it but they abhor it. There is a lot of baggage around this form of exchange. Money. Hmmmmm

That is why I felt the subject of tithing was a good call to post. We have issues surrounding money. We have issues about how it is spent, saved, received, and given away. All sorts of beliefs about what is right. I knew the topic would get the pot stirred.

Whenever I point out that something is a belief, I am not suggesting it is wrong. Not in the least. I am suggesting it is a firmly held idea that you may have had for a long time. You may not know how or why you came to believe it.

I Can Learn To Do Anything Easily If I Will Attempt To

You might want to examine why you hold the belief. Many of our beliefs are borrowed from those around us while growing up. We don’t know why or when we developed them. Some we do, most we probably don’t.

Sometimes, we are aware of the conclusions we drew because of extreme circumstances or events. Something unforgettable happened and at that moment we formed a new belief or we strengthened an already existing one.

Beliefs are chronic, habitual ways of thinking. They are simply thoughts we think again and again. Typically, we have a cluster of beliefs around a topic. Open up one and more come out. They are tied to our values and what we ‘believe’ is important.

What I Want To Do With Ease I First Have To Do With Diligence

When asked, ‘what is important about love’ or what’s important about a relationship? or a career, of your finances, or parenting or life, beliefs pop up. Rules for being and doing come up. Some we hold to firmly while others we may be more flexible or relaxed about.

When I say ‘THAT is a belief’,  I hope is that the reader will take it as an invitation to look at it. It could be accurate or valid to hold. Still, look at it. Examine it. Is it truly yours? Did you come to this conclusion on you own? If so, how? Based on, what?

Is this conclusion applicable in the current situation or mostly applicable to the original situation? How does having this belief serve you? What does it do? How does it limit you? If you could believe something else what would that be?

It Is Completely Up To Me Whether I Can Or Whether I Can’t

Why don’t you believe something else instead of this? Have you ever wondered that? Why don’t you believe something else? There are so many questions one could ask. Reflection and examination are useful. We should make up our own minds instead of having them made up for us. Don’t you think?

I phrased that as a possible belief. Did you catch that? You see, you can try on beliefs, similarly to how you try on clothes. You can put them on and off, metaphorically, to determine whether they fit or not.

Do you need to update?  Are there some beliefs you want to exchange for better beliefs? You might? You might not need to. You might want to.  Anything is possible. The Red Queen in Alice Through The Looking Glass stated, ‘Why I believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast.’ Perhaps, you’d like to, too.

I Am Responsible For What I Do And Do Not Have

Through honest exploration you can discover more of your talents and resources. You can uncover and begin to process or eliminate any of those that hold you back and begin to heal.

The choice is yours. Unless, you don’t believe you have choice. Then you aren’t likely to take it or make it.

Someone may or may not be able to prove to you or convince you otherwise. It depends on your beliefs. If you don’t believe you have choice, I would say you are correct, you don’t. If you can’t conceive of a reality you can behave in that reality.

Hill said, Anything you can conceive and believe you can achieve. That is powerful. If you can imagine it and believe it you can make it happen. If you don’t believe that is possible then it is impossible.

I Am Accountable For What I Do And Do Not Have

If you believe others may be capable or entitled, but not you, then for others,, it is true but for you, it is not. Beliefs determine how we interact with the world, circumstances and others. They determine how we hold ourself in esteem.

Taken altogether they establish our attitude or mindset. We believe the world is either a friendly or a hostile place. We either can do something or we can’t. Others can do it or we can. Maybe everyone can or some can’t.

Beliefs determine the who, the what, the where, the when, the why and the how in life. They determine whether we mean everyone or only a few. Whether we mean for now only or for all of time. Beliefs shape our reality. According to science, it is more accurate to say, believing is seeing than it is the other way around.

The Mind Is Only As Strong As Its Weakest Think

Okay, we haven’t discussed money beliefs but we will. We started back at beliefs. You might want to pick a topic, as I did above. Something important to you. Begin to write down every belief you have, pro and con, about it.

Stop Deceiving Yourself And Make Better Choices!

“Are you having problems and difficulties? Perhaps, you are struggling with career, family, relationships or finances. How are you challenged? Do you know why you are having troubles? According to science we don’t actually see what is. We see through neurological filters. Our perceptions are constrained.

In fact, our conclusions that we draw about ourselves and the world are largely inaccurate. Some would say, completely wrong. Those conclusions and reasons why we have troubles are subjected to the same filtered neurological processes hence they MUST be wrong. We make conclusions based on limited information.

We never see the whole picture.  We only get fragments and tiny parts bit by bit; never everything all at once or over time. Our conclusions are drawn from our limitations of filtered processing and from our co-opted conditioned thinking as we grew up. We adopted the beliefs and conclusions of others from birth on.

We are wrong about most things because we can’t actually see who we are or what we are capable of. We may glimpse it from time to time, but mostly we react to the world from chronic, worn out, conditioning. We use the past as the basis for approaching the future and that contaminates the present and future.

Everything Can Be Otherwise If We Open Up To The Possibility

According to physicists everything is energy vibrating at different rates. Matter is energy appearing hard to our senses. This tells us our senses are easily tricked. There are upper and lower limits of what can be consciously perceived. We miss far more of what there is than we can ever know.

We are conditioned from birth to rely on our senses. We are taught that there is a separate outer world made up of solid things. Our senses wouldn’t lie, even though, quite frankly, they do. Everything is illusion, only we do think so. We believe it to be the truth about how things are. We are very wrong.

We believe there is an independent, objective reality. We believe the circumstances around us IS what is going on. We believe that it is true. For example, if we get enough reports that the economy sucks we accept it. If certain people are considered bad, we believe it. We believe so many inaccurate things!

We don’t actually know what is out there. Science reports to us, that we are mostly, if not completely, deceived. None of it has any independent outside truth, other than it is all energy appearing solid, but rather, it IS what we BELIEVE it to be. We believe our subjective appraisal. We determine whether things are ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

Believing Is Seeing

Since our subjective appraisal is deceptive things are not as they appear. They are only as we believe them to be. Our consciousness creates what is.  AND so it is, whatever we say it is, by our own declaration. We conclude it is a particular way even when multiple other possibilities exist.

We simply lock into one way of thinking about it and accept it as that. Silly human. There are infinite possibilities and we choose one. The one we choose is based on our prior conditioning from our interactions and experiences with others and the world. We create a version of reality and then tend to stick with it.

We draw conclusions and then eliminate other possible conclusions so we don’t have to think about it much. Our brains streamline the information for us. We make generalizations about ourselves and the world, which may or MAY NOT be accurate. We delete things so you can bet it is mostly inaccurate.

We leave things out when we generalize. Science says we can only consciously entertain and recall so much data in a given moment. Our brains process trillions of bits of date each second that we can’t possible  be aware of or think consciously about. Still, all of it is there.

We Delete, Distort And Generalize

We distort. If we generalize our experience and leave things out, then by that very process we necessarily distort reality or what it is. It can also work the other ways around. We distort, thus we delete, or, we even add in things that aren’t there and make generalizations based on that.

Or it could be because we delete, and distort we then make generalizations. Generalizations are the rules and reasons we adhere to through all time and space across the board, to navigate the world we create. We accept these as what is, or as independent, objective truth, when actually it is all subjective.

We see through our minds and beliefs. We are a bag of skin and bones and processes. Ongoing continuous processes attempt to decipher the nature of the universe through a limited human apparatus. We draw limited inaccurate conclusions about ourselves, the universe and ‘reality’.

We accept these conclusions as accurate; a reflection of what is. We call it reality. Our reality is comprised of outer circumstances and our inner reactions. We draw conclusions. We decide whether or not we are worthy of certain outcomes and or capable of certain actions. We believe our own BS. AND IT IS ALL BS!

We See Through A Glass Dimly

We believe our delusions. We have made our conclusions. And so it is. Science, still informs us, that everything is actually just energy appearing solid. It isn’t as we conclude it to be. The trick is to wake up to what else there is.

We have the opportunity to  shed our chronic, habitual conditioning, and drop the beliefs, the conclusions and thoughts that limit us. We can become more aware and discover new ways to think and be. Even through the very processes that trap us, we can awaken. If only we will.

It can be said, if you are seeking more, and entertaining notions such as these, that you are at least on the outer edge of beginning the process of awakening. Whether you do or not, who can say, but your very interest or desire may be an indication of something better and  important going on. We can awaken and we must want to awaken.

If that IS the case, then what can you do to enjoy it and assist the process? What can you do to accept it and go with the flow? How can you most naturally awaken, easily? How can you become more consciously aware and appreciative of the process? What can you do to celebrate and get through the limitations?

What You Say Is What You Get

Don’t fight it, but relax into it. Go with it. What is IS. Enjoy everything! Why not? If the universe is of our making then why not make it the most incredible, wonderful, experience of universe possible? No matter what goes on, why get caught up in anything less than glorious. Why not celebrate and enjoy it all?

Do you realize you are here? You have consciousness. You are alive. You have this go around why not be totally thrilled with this opportunity. In all, the trillions of stars, and immensity of the universe through billions of years YOU are here to enjoy it. If that doesn’t make you stop and go WOW what ever would?

YOU are here to live and enjoy and delight. I mean why not? What other purpose for you being here could there be? If you think there is no purpose then you are a complete idiot if you don’t assign your own. MAKE it whatever you want it to be. You have THIS opportunity. Make it great, for goodness sake. WHY NOT?

If you don’t thrill and celebrate every second you are wasting every second you don’t. What does anything matter but the love, and life and goodness you can help create? YOU exist so make it count for something marvelous! Celebrate everything! After all it is your choice. You can choose to make it whatever you want it to be.

It Is Whatever You Declare It Is

You can limit your problems, and stop it from being any difficulty. In all that there is why focus on what might be wrong, EVER, when you can make things right. Why waste time caught up in less than glorious issues?  You can decide to enjoy the ride for all it is!

Think about that. Really, think about it. It is you choice. Everything is an illusion. If we make generalizations, why not make better ones? Make ones that serve you. Instead of living out a crappy existence based on conditioning, with problems, lack and discord make it a life that includes everything you want.

Dictate what circumstances will be. If you are going to be deluded, be deluded in ways that feel good. Make it glorious. Exercise good taste and judgement. It is your choice. Decide now to enjoy it!” Rex Sikes

Whatever You Want Is Just A Thought Away!

“Whatever you want is just a thought away. Thoughts precede actions. Thoughts become things. Thoughts are the ideas which become reality. Whatever you want begins with a thought. It doesn’t begin any other way. I repeat, It doesn’t begin any other way!

It doesn’t begin with hard work. It doesn’t begin with hopes or wishes. It begins with your thinking. The issue for most people is that they don’t think it. Oh, they ‘think’ they do. They ‘believe’ they do but they actually don’t. Nope, they simply don’t! They DO NOT.

They may claim they do. What they ACTUALLY do is say the thought to themselves without feeling it. There is no emotion behind it. No conviction. They merely utter it but don’t accept or believe it. They doubt it. They think it and then think, ‘nah that won’t happen.’ They doubt, fear, or worry more than they think it is possible.

They Merely Utter It But Don’t Accept Or Believe It

They come up with all the reasons why it won’t happen. They come up with all the reasons why they won’t think it. They don’t want to be disappointed if it doesn’t work. THAT is NOT THINKING THE THOUGHT!!!! That is thinking everything BUT the thought. That is entertaining a passing fancy. That is ‘lip service’.

THAT is NOT thinking the thought! That is thinking everything BUT the thought!  We become what we think about most of the day. They utter a thought and then spend most of their time either thinking it won’t ever happen or thinking other things. They don’t spend time thinking that thought. Instead, they are distracted. The thought never becomes a predominant idea. It has no power, no legs.

THAT is not using your mind well. That is not thinking the thought. That is a passing fancy which is dismissed for numerous other reasons OR it is considered and then lost among countless other considerations. The issue is most people don’t THINK. Most people don’t know how to think. Heck, we were never taught how to.

We Are Influenced By The Predominant Thoughts We Hold

Sadly, most people, thinking mostly the same chronic, habitual thoughts today that they thought yesterday, ‘think’ they are thinking. They aren’t! They are merely playing old tapes inside their head; old programming. Old worn out, negative, limited programming, for the most part, is what they are doing. It is not new, powerful thought. They aren’t thinking new thoughts.

It is mostly the same stuff you have thought again and again. If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got. If you want to your life to change you have to change things in your life. You can’t do the same thing over and over and expect different results BUT this is what most do! Admit it, I do too!

If you conceive of it and you believe it you can make it happen. Will it magically appear, I doubt it. Still, I am not saying it won’t. Others can do that. I suspect YOU actually have to create it. Sadly, though you most likely never will unless you think you absolutely will in the first place. You have to conceive of a new reality FIRST in order to behave in that reality.

Thoughts Are Things

‘Whatever you want is a thought away’ IS an accurate statement. If you don’t think what you want is that close, well then it most likely isn’t. You declare it. You assert it. You determine what it and your future will be like. You create your present. Most people just won’t acknowledge that this is what we do. You and I create our reality!

Reality is of our own making. Reality is of your own making. You think and your reality is a reflection of what goes on inside your head AND what doesn’t. Results in the real world are YOUR doing. Most people just won’t willingly shoulder the responsibility for what they have or don’t and where they are at.

They want to blame it on others because it is easier and it let’s them off the hook. Most were brought up believing it was someone else’s fault anyway so it is nearly natural they would think that. The fact of the matter is YOUR thinking is absolutely powerful. Your life conditions are a reflection of what thoughts you have thought.

If It Is To Be It Is Up To Me

You CAN absolutely BE and DO and HAVE anything you want WHEN you absolutely THINK YOU CAN. Become a CAN DO person. Discover your creative power to make things happen. Take charge, be in control. Your destiny is in your own hands, between your ears, within your being. MAKE IT WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE.

How To Think Your Way To Money And Success! A True Story.

“When it comes to success who succeeds? Do you know the factors, the characteristics, the actions necessary to make it happen? You do realize those who are absolutely committed and passionate about what they want AND must accomplish get further than those who hope and wish and dream, don’t you?

Some people have a lot of energy, even passion, but it is scattered. It is not focused. It is all over the place. They even know what they want. They wish for things and hope for them, but not very much. It is nice if they make it but,  just in case, they have plenty of other options if they don’t. They don’t work all that hard to get anywhere.

Thoughts Are Things

Edwin Barnes story continues: Consider all the things Barnes did. He had a wish. He turned it into a white hot definite desire. He visualized and affirmed what he wanted, day and night repeatedly, until it became his dominant desire. He rehearsed and prepared in his mind. It occupied his consciousness most of the day.

He saw himself working for Edison. He saw himself conversing with Edison. He imagined Edison bringing him on board. He planned his future in his mind when there was no evidence of any of it ever happening. He kept at it. According to Hill, he impressed what he wanted on his subconscious mind through autosuggestion. He made plans. Nothing detoured him, nothing prevented him, he never quit!

If You Pay Attention You Can Learn And Use The Secret

He was willing to accept any opening opportunity just to work with Edison. He made the journey. Traveled by ‘blind baggage’ not even in a passenger car. He looked like a tramp but thought like a king. He did what he had to to get to Edison. He stated, that he put Edison ‘on notice’ that he wanted to partner and provide value to Edison.

Edison was impressed by his demeanor and conviction. He hired him for a menial job and wages.  He got his foot in the door. He got to Edison. He got Edison to meet with him. He got Edison to know who he is. He impressed Edison with the strength of his character. He got Edison to hire him.  He made it happen.

He Burned His Boats There Was No Retreat

It is not only who you know that is important. It is who knows you! It’s how they think of you. Opportunity can come from any place and anyone. If you are known as a person of worth, who adds value and are pleasant to be around doors may open up for you. If you go the extra mile and are a positive influence you stand better chances.

Barnes worked for five years, biding his time, adding value, and demonstrating his worth, waiting for the right opportunity to present itself. During that time he intensified his desire. He continued to build it in his mind. He kept the faith and worked diligently.

Nothing Could Stop Him

When the opportunity presented, it came in an unexpected way. Edison’s new invention wasn’t selling well and his sales people weren’t able to move the product. Barnes leapt into action. He told Edison he could sell it. Edison gave him the chance.

Sell it he did! Others thought it too difficult but Barnes made it happen. He sold it and sold it. Edison gave him a contract  to market and distribute it all over America. He ended up becoming a multi millionaire too. His partnership with Edison lasted more than 30 years.

Opportunity May Come Through The Back Door

When Barnes was ready the opportunity presented itself. All the while he kept the faith. Even when it appeared that nothing was happening  he kept the faith! He didn’t have a Plan B. He knew he wanted and was convinced he would ultimately make it happen.

We can all learn a lot from Edwin C. Barnes. Hill says this about him in Chapter 1 of Think and Grow Rich, ‘(Barnes)… has made himself rich in money, but he has done something infinitely greater, he has proved that one really may ‘Think and Grow Rich.’  How much actual cash that original DESIRE of Barnes’ has been worth to him, I have no way of knowing.’

Nothing Is Impossible For Those Who Truly Desire

‘…whatever it is, becomes insignificant when compared with the greater asset he acquired in the form of definite knowledge that an intangible impulse of thought can be transmuted into its physical counterpart by the application of known principles.’

‘Barnes literally thought himself into a partnership with the great Edison! He thought himself into a fortune. He had nothing to start with, except the capacity to KNOW WHAT HE WANTED, AND THE DETERMINATION TO STAND BY THAT DESIRE UNTIL HE REALIZED IT.’

Purpose, Desire, Faith, Persistence Work Magic

‘He had no money to begin with. He had but little education. He had no influence. But he did have initiative, faith, and the will to win. With these intangible forces he made himself number one man with the greatest inventor who ever lived.’

He did, Think and Grow Rich! And so can you! Study these principles for success. Read about them, over and over again. More importantly, put them to work. Put them into practice. DO what is required for success and you will be successful. It won’t come from the reading but from applying what you read. DO it! Do it today!” Rex Sikes

Why Some Never Get What They Want While Others Do

“Who, among my readers, wants a better life? Who hopes for and desires positive change? Do you wish for more money, better health, improved relationships, far away travel, more fun and enjoyment? What is it you dream about?

Do you know what keeps you from having that right now? Wishing and wanting and hoping and dreaming. All nice but all keep it away.Those who wish rarely win. Those who get what they want are CLEAR about what they want. They SEE it as an absolute in their mind.

The difference between one who gets what they want and one who doesn’t is this; the one who gets what they want thinks, says, and declares, ‘I AM going to make this happen’. They speak with authority because they are certain. They command themselves to do it! Everything they think and say to supports their conclusion.

It is never a wish!  It is an accomplishment. It is not something they want and hope will happen, that somehow they will attract it. Nope! They know if they want it they MUST make it happen. They align their inner resources and efforts to bring it into being. They are congruent and completely DEDICATED.

The Best Way To Predict The Future Is To Create It

They may also attract others, events and circumstances but they initiate. They don’t wait, they are PROACTIVE. They may not even know how they will do it yet, they just know that they will make it happen. Hoping won’t do it. They PLAN their success route and take it.

YOU have to DECIDE to do it and let nothing stop you. DECLARE it! COMMAND it! YOU make it happen. YOU marshall all of YOUR resources to bring it into being. That is what any king or emperor does. They say, ‘I want a monument. Put the slaves to work’.

Your slaves are your inner resources, your thoughts, abilities, skills and talents. You MAKE it happen by thoughts, your feelings and your actions. These should work together for you. Mindset, attitude, is the cutting edge that separates those who ultimately have from those who don’t.

Your servants are your BURNING DESIRE. Your passion that you must achieve this. Your FAITH. Your unwavering absolute belief in yourself and your expectation of accomplishment. You KNOW you will make it happen. Your ACTION. You take whatever positive actions you must take to bring about your positive good.

If It Is Important To You –  Find A Way To Make It Happen

PERSISTENCE. You never stop. You keep believing in yourself.  You keep doing until you accomplish. FLEXIBILITY, you are able to adjust and adapt. If something isn’t working you change your plan but never you definite chief purpose. This is how you get what you want.

This is what separates the champion from those who are not. These characteristics are the characteristics of an emperor. MINDSET is what separates those who get, and who have, from those who do not. It is never a question of IF you will achieve it, but WHEN you make it happen.

ATTITUDE gives you the edge. Attitude is everything! Develop the mindset of the emperor and the champion. DETERMINE WHAT YOU WANT (what is good for you and will not harm anyone else) and MAKE it happen.

You can be, do and have whatever you want. It is up to you. DECIDE NOW that you can and that you will make it happen AND YOU WILL! ‘What you can conceive and believe you can achieve!’ DO IT! Make all your dreams come true!” Rex Sikes
