Be Careful What You Ask For: How To Get The Results You Want!

“Are you able to accept what is or do you struggle to be at ease? Are you able to easily live in the present? Many people struggle. Why do you suppose that is? Why do you struggle if you do? Think about a mild issue or problem you have. A MILD issue or problem.

Ask yourself, ‘What’s wrong? …  Why do I have this problem? … How does this problem make me feel? … How does having this problem limit me? … What does having this problem stop me from doing? … Whose fault is it that I have this problem?’

Ok, stop here! Did you actually ask the questions.  If not, go back and take a moment. Ask, notice how you feel. Analyze for a moment. Go beyond the quick answer and entertain it for a moment. Once you have actually thought about it, and reflected on it notice how you feel? HOW do you feel?

Use Your Mind For A Change

Okay stop. Take a deep breath. Take another one or two and shake that off. Get up walk around and come back and keep reading. Now ask these questions using the same mild issue or mild problem.

‘What do I want?  What would I like? If I could have that now how would I feel? How might that be different? If it is easier than I think it is to get it what can I do differently?’ NOW  Imagine that you already have all you want right NOW.

Ask, ‘How does this make me feel? In how many different ways might I easily enjoy feeling wonderful?’

Okay notice how you feel? Okay stop. Take a deep breath. Take another one or two. If you want shake that off. If it feels good keep it if you like. Get up walk around and come back and keep reading. Now ask these questions.

Which set of questions makes you feel better than the other? For most people it is the second set of questions. CAN you determine the difference between both sets of questions? Why do you suppose the second set helps most people feel better than the first?

Questions Direct Your Mind

Questions direct your mind. Where and what you direct your energy and attention to determines what you get back. Questions divide up your experience of the world. What you ask about is what you are paying attention to and determine what you feel.

It would be useful to monitor the kind of questions you routinely ask yourself. If they are less than glorious questions you may well find yourself feeling and thinking less than gloriously. You will want to change what you are doing if you want to have changes in your life.

You can use questions to gain insights and change behaviors. You can use questions to feel better and think better. Questions are a powerful tool. When you ask yourself better questions, ones that direct you in positive ways, your life will actually improve. Notice what you ask yourself in real time and change those.

Make it a point to think up some positive questions that direct your mind to positive aspects of your experience. Ask about the resources you already have and would like to utilize more of and to other resources you may wish to include. Focus your mind on what you want and enjoy!

Direct Your Mind Somewhere Useful

Direct your mind to what you can be, think, feel and do that is positive, easy, smooth, delightful and sooner rather than later. Entertain these questions for a while. Reflect on each. Stick with it. Discover the answers. Realize the quality of question you ask determines the quality of your life.

If you ask, ‘why is it difficult?’ What are you focused on? Difficulty! If you ask, ‘why is it easy?’ you are focused on ease. Keep this in mind as you ask questions. If you ask, ‘how long will it take?’ you may get the same answer as ‘how soon?’ but the feelings produced will be different. This is important. YOUR feelings are important!

Some people ask, ‘why me?’ or ‘how come nothing ever works out for me?’ Think on this for a moment. How does that direct your mind? How useful is it to ask that? It would be much more useful to ask, ‘how quickly can I discover that things always work out well for me?’ You want the result of your questioning to be good feelings!

You may not think ‘things always work out well for me’  is true yet. You may quickly answer, ‘well things have been tough.’ Consider this: they may be tough precisely because of what you are asking. You may not yet experience the power of ‘how quickly can I discover that things always work out well for me?” because you haven’t been asking that. Start asking it and discover the power.

You Always Already Are Directing Your Mind

Once you do and you start directing your mind to look for how things work out well you will start finding the many different ways. You see you are always directing your mind. Always! You either focus on the positive or the negative. The good or the bad. The increase or the decrease. What you have or what you don’t.

You either focus on abundance or lack. Power or weakness. I ask you, which do you want to focus on? What do you want? What would you like more of? Whatever you focus on is what you get? If you are asking yourself questions that direct you into feeling crappy you will feel more crappy. Be smart enough to stop that.

You are constantly creating your reality by how and where you put your attention. You want a better reality, you want better results you have to ask better questions. You have to affirm a different reality. Direct your mind where you want it to go!

Are You Directing Your Mind Where You Want It To Go

You already are sending it somewhere. Make sure where you send you mind is where you want it to go. Make certain it is what you are seeking to attain. Imagine yourself already having accomplished you goal, see it in your mind’s eye. Be it! Hold it in your mind and you will do it and have it.

Ask better, smarter, wiser questions of yourself. ‘In how many different ways can I discover that everything ultimately works out wonderfully for me?’ ‘How come I am so lucky?’ ‘How soon will I begin to notice even more fully how wonderful I am?’ Or how smart, or fortunate, or blessed, of beautiful, or confident. Anything.

Be sure that what you ask about is what you want to be! Make certain that anything that precedes of follows the ‘… I AM…’ is positive. ‘…how resourceful I am… how confident I am’ or ‘How in how many delightful ways can I discover I am truly blessed… or absolutely fortunate… or resourceful… or beautiful… or relaxed.’

Take Charge Of The Questions You Ask Yourself

Remember, we become what we think about. What get what we focus on.

Focus on the finest. Focus on the best. Focus on what you want. Focus on the positive. Focus on the wonderful. Focus on increase. The more you do the more you become it, do it and have it. Be The Master Of Your Thoughts Not Their Slave

“It amazes me that there are people who do not understand or get, or appreciate the concept that everything beings from within. It starts on the inside and then is made on the outside. The results we get in the real world start first inside us as an idea or representation.

It is simple. Chairs didn’t come from the outside. They begin as a thought, an idea, a concept, a possibility inside someone’s mind. When ready the individual or individuals made a chair. This is true with any creation humans make. From within to without is the process.

This is why it is so critical to learn to control your thinking process. This is why maintaining a positive mind set is critical to your success. You success stems from the mind set you hold FIRST!!! Your happiness, your enjoyment, your life exists within you and how you think about it.

The results you get, whether you like them or not, ARE the reflection of what goes on inside you already. If you don’t like them you must change what you are doing on the inside because whatever you are doing is getting you what you don’t want.

Successful happy people already know this. They know how to think and bring about wonderful lifestyles, careers, riches and happiness. Others do not. They are using their mind to remain poor or broke, unhappy and conflicted.

What you think about you become. What you focus on expands. What you hold in your head you will one day hold in your hand. What you think about you bring about. How many times do we have to hear it until we realize it?  As many as necessary until we do!

I studied these principles since a child and it took years before I realized what it was about. It is so simple we miss it. We don’t believe it. We ignore it. It is not necessarily easy because we are conditioned to think and behave and do otherwise.

We have to take control of that habitual chronic thinking and train our minds to do what we want. Otherwise our minds do what they learned to do. If you don’t like what you are getting then you must change their training program or you will keep getting the same.

Why do I repeat myself frequently in these blog pages. FOR THIS VERY REASON!!! We need to hear it or see it or repeat it enough until we realize we need to do something different to get what we want. ONLY you can control your thinking in this way.

Others have influenced you and you may be thinking their programs as we all grew up doing. Time to begin to think for oneself. Time to make the world what you want it to be. Time to make yourself into the person you already truly are but keep missing.

Your conditioning, my conditioning keeps us blinded. Time to make it otherwise. Time to program yourself for happiness and success. Time to make it happen. When isn’t NOW a good time to begin? Do it today. Decide to become the master of your thoughts!” Rex Sikes

Creators Do It Differently Than The Herd: How To Be A Creator

“Have you ever been in the presence of a person who just has ‘it’? You know what I mean. A person who walks into a room and their energy draws everyone to them like moths to a flame. Heads turn. People notice and want to move closer. They are something special;

This person is filled with positive, irresistible presence and charisma. It is positive energy. Positive high vibrations. Whatever words you want to use this is how you want to live moment to moment. You want to vibrate high and be filled with positive, powerful energy.

You Are A Light To The World

Think of yourself as a beacon.  Are you shining powerfully bright so all can see or are you a dim bulb? Illuminate yourself and you illuminate the world. Creators, those people who live powerfully live differently from the herd. They live as champions and emperors.

You can too! Do what they have learned to do and you will. They know how important it is to be in charge of their thoughts and feelings. They think the best and feel the best most of the time. The know you become what you focus on so they focus on the positive.

Live with positive energy! Feel the best you can moment to moment. Live feeling the best you can. Think the most positive and wonderful thoughts and you will feel the most positive and wonderful feelings. Thinking and feeling and feeling and thinking go hand in hand.

Make Sure Your Light Is Lit

Live with positive energy. Emphasize it. That is what the creators do. Vibrate high! Keep your self talk and inner imagining on positive things. Speak to bless heal and prosper self and others.  Your power as a creator is to feel what you want before it is.

Thought precedes results. Thoughts precede action. Thoughts precede reality. If you think it in your head you can some day hold it in your hand. Energy moves from inside to the outside. You call it into action with your thoughts, feelings and words.

Keep your thoughts and images positive. Do the same with your self-talk and the words you do speak out loud.  Keep feelings the very best. Creators use their thoughts, words and positive emotional energy to manifests what they want.

Stay Positive In Thoughts And Feelings

This is how you make it happen! Be it before it and you will have it! They fully realize it first in the imagination. They feel what it is like to be it, to do it, to own it before they have any of it. From this then they create it. They take action to bring it into being.

This is how you manifest what you want. Imagine it. Write it down. Speak it as though it is already done. Feel it! Smell it, taste it! Enjoy it as if you already have it before it arrives. It is your story tell it the way you want it to be and it can be that way.

No whining, no excuses, no blames. If you live and think lackluster thoughts your life will be the same. Creators live managing the best they have. They are active in their self awareness and in maintaining their mindset and positive energy.

Go First – Be It – Then Do It To Have It

Successful people have money because they are first successful within. They feel successful. They know they are successful. They expect to have things work out. They expect to make money and attract opportunity.

Money comes to the successful it does not make you successful. Happy people are people who are happy first. It doesn’t matter what they have or what life throws at them. They are happy first. They can enjoy everything because it isn’t things that make people happy.

Yet, countless numbers of people have it backwards. They do, they struggle and work hard to have things so that they can be happy and feel successful. This is directly counter to how it works. You first be, you become it, and then you do, you take action to have things.

Act As If You Already Are What You Want

Pretend what it feels like to be able to do whatever you want whenever you want. Pretend that you can afford anything you desire. Pretend life is good and you feel incredible. Act as if everything is perfect. Enjoy it. Feel it. Answer this question.

If life were perfect and you were who you always wanted to be and doing what you wanted and having everything you wanted how would you feel? If you had everything you always wanted how would you feel? This is the feeling you want to live from most of the time.

Feel wonderful! Feel incredible! Feel delighted! The way you do that is to fill your mind and being with the thoughts that make you feel this way. From this energy you create. From this energy you attract. This is how the creators do it. They live vibrating high!

Feeling Good Is Feeling Good Is Feeling Good

Here is an important tip: The feelings you feel do not have to be directly related to what you want. For example, you want wealth but are not sure how to feel rich. You might imagine and feel freedom. You might feel blessed.

You might appreciate everything you do have without wanting more. You just feel true gratitude. You might feel fun. You might feel joy! You might feel celebration and delight. You might feel fascinated and in awe of nature. You might feel wonder.

Good feelings open the doorway to attract more of the same. When you are feeling wonderful you open yourself up. You might feel peaceful, secure, relaxed, at-ease, confident. Feel good and vibrate high! When you feel good you invite more of the same and better.

You Are Either Positive Or Negative – Choose

Withdraw you energy and attention from less than glorious news, gossip and worries. Focus on the wonderful, the inspiring, the magnificent. Feel yourself as a powerful, positive creator. Feel it now. Not sometime in the future but now. Feel it as already done!

Decide to see what is going right and you will see it! Decided to feel it first and you will have it! Yearning reinforces the absence of what you want and blocks you from getting it. Feeling fulfilled means more can come your way! Being fulfilled means you make it happen.

Feel fulfilled first and you will open the doors to being blessed beyond belief. Stop longing and start feeling what you want already accomplished.  Make your life the way you have always wanted it to be. Create it! Attract it by making your energy irresistible!” Rex Sikes

What Do I Do If I Think A Negative Thought?

“People have asked me, ‘What about negative thoughts? What should I do if I think a negative thought?

This is a normal question for people in the process of learning to deliberately take charge their mind.  

After all, it is bound to happen. We are human. There is nothing to fear and there is somethings you can do.

Whenever you have a negative thought or feeling counter it immediately with a positive thought.  

Don’t accept the negative. Make a positive statement.  Make a positive picture. Turn your back on it!

Turn your back on the negative and turn toward the positive. Do not entertain or get caught up supporting or encouraging that which brings you down.

Turn from it. Put your focus, your emphasis, your concentration on the positive. Deliberately switch!

The trick to being happier and healthier overall in life is learning to pay attention to what is worthwhile.  

Let go or give up that which does not add or contribute to you positively.

Learn to transform those moments. It will make your life more incredible moment to moment.

Eventually you will make it a habit and you will automatically look to the positive. 

You will learn a few important things by doing this: You will become aware of when you are not thinking positively.

You will develop the power to switch it.

You will make it an automatic reliable habit. You will gain control of your thinking process.

You will begin to make what you want happen in your life.

Become aware of the signal! That is really all the negative thought or feeling actually is.

It is a signal that you are thinking about what you don’t want or don’t have.

It is a signal that you are focused on a less than productive pathway. The signal provides you the opportunity to change it.

Appreciate the signal. It may be negative but be glad it got your attention.

You want to become aware of the instant your thinking turns less than positive.

The signal occurs so you can prevent yourself from getting caught up in negative feelings or spiraling down and out in negative thinking.

The earlier you become aware of the signal the faster and easier it is to change what you are doing.  

Take it as a message to turn your attention to the positive. Change your thinking and you change your life.

Transform the moment from less than glorious into something a little better or a lot better. Build your ability to notice more of the good things.

Notice the fine things, the best things, the best thoughts, feelings and pictures,  the best behvaiors and the moments.

When you fill up your life with things you enjoy and appreciate you feel better over all and life is much more wonderful.  

Too many are distracted by less than glorious past memories or present circumstances.

They spend time wallowing in less than glorious minutes and wonder why they don’t feel better. Energy flows where your attention goes.

If you are negative or feel negative and you put your attention on it you increase it and encourage it. You get more of what you do not want.

If you put your attention on what you want your attention to it supports and ecourages the good feelings and you get more of this.

You get more of what you DO want!

Happiness is a choice each moment. Whenever you notice yourself thinking or feeling less than gloriously stop. Just completely stop.

Take  deep breath. Think ‘cancel’ the negative thought and think, pitcure and make a positive statement immediately.

Steer yourself right back into the positive thoughts and feelings. Do it deliberately.

Do it immediately when you become aware of the negative thought.

Whenever you make a negative statement. Whenever you hear one come out of your mouth Stop!

Do the same thing. Turn it into a positive one!

Do what you want to have more of and less of what you don’t want. It is simple enough.

Either you are postive or negative. Choose the positive and life will be better.

Don’t whine, complain, blame or act like a victim and say that you can’t do this or that it is too difficult.

That itself is a negative thought you must immediately change!

Change your thoughts and change your life. You can do this! Decide that you can and that you will.

When you will you will have won. The victory comes to those who attempt to win.

Defeat is assured for those who refuse to play the game. You are already in the game so decide how you will play it.

Decide to make your life better and you will.

If you want something the first place you get it is in your mind. Where you spend most of your time is what your life reflects.

You become what you think about. Make your mind your servant instead of being its servant and you will be so happy you did.” Rex Sikes

What Is Your Answer To This Important Life Transforming Question?

“People ask me, ‘What can I do to transform my experience into something more wonderful?’ That is an excellent question. I am going to ask you a question in return and I would like you to actually entertain it. Think about the answer. Dwell on it a while.

Imagine the answer as fully as you are able. Let it  come to you. I am going to ask this of you in the first person.

What if, for a half hour each day, I went inside and imagined living the perfect life?  What if I imagined my life as I always hoped it would be? What if I really got in touch with how good  it feels to see myself as I have always wanted to be and to experience my life working out for the best?   What if, for a half hour each day, I imaged this fully and spent time enjoying myself feeling these incredible positive feelings?

Consider This – Imagine This

I am my ideal self.

I am confident and charming. I feel good and I look good. I have the body I always knew I could have. I have vitality and energy, charisma and power. I am comfortable, poised, energetic and relaxed.

What would this be like? What if I had perfect health and well being? What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

I live in the house I want to live in. It is exactly to my liking.  It is a  wonderful home in just the kind of neighborhood I like. It is impeccably decorated, simple, stylish, bold. It is completely me.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

I drive the best car. My favorite car. I get a lot of pleasure from owning this. I wear the best kind of clothes that are in my style and I have the nicest things. I embody good taste.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

Imagine This Fully

I eat the finest healthy food. I am healthy and wealthy. I bask in the glow of health and wealth. I work with the finest people around me. I love what I do and feel fulfilled.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

I am surrounded by people who love me. Family, friends, loved ones, meaningful people, I am at ease and comfortable being alone or with others.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

I am a light to the world. I am positive and powerful. I am happy, joyous, successful, loving and kind. I celebrate and enjoy life. I smile and laugh. I am open and available.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

I am authentic there is no mask to hide behind what you see is what you get.

I let go of past mistakes and move on. I live in the present creating a marvelous future. I am powerful, strong, well-off, worthy and deserving of all good things. All good things are mine.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

Everything Works Together For Good

I focus on solutions. I focus on what I can learn and that which I am able to do. I am in charge of myself. I take control of my thoughts and my feelings. I am responsible for having the kind of life I want. If it is to be it is up to me.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

I am abundance. I am a positive creator and create a positive, happy, successful, powerful lifestyle. I enjoy the best of everything. I am grateful and appreciate everything in my life. I am blessed and joyful. I am confident and secure.

What would this be like? How much would I enjoy feeling this way?

How would I feel if I spent more time focused on thoughts and images like these? What if I did this everyday? What if throughout the day I made these mental images and enjoyed the feelings that come with these?

You Can Do This – Focus On What You Want

See it in your mind first and you can then make it a reality. Chose to focus on the best. Let go of the past. Don’t get caught up in the present circumstances or difficulties but focus on what you want. Think positive and enjoy positive feelings.

The more you feel good the more you will feel good. Imagine what you want, create it for yourself, and make it happen. You can do it. If you can’t spend a half hour, how about 20 minutes? How about 5 dedicated minutes twice a day? Imagine that you could spend a dedicated amount of time  for yourself daily so that you could think, feel and be your very best. What if you did? How marvelous would that be?” Rex Sikes

There Is Only One, Big Reason You Don’t Have What You Want!

“Most people desire things. What do you want? Do you want any of the following? You want the perfect career;  success;  a fine home; a loving, lasting relationship; that special car; jewelry and many other things. You want to travel, eat in fine restaurants and have lots of cash. You want to be out of debt and able to afford anything you want. What is it?

You want things but you don’t have them. Something holds you back.  There is ONE, single, big reason why you do not have exactly what you want, yet. It is important that you understand this.

The ONLY Reason You Don’t Have What You Want YET Is Because

YOU don’t see yourself with it!

You see yourself without it. You imagine not having it. You may imagine wanting it but inside your mind and heart you don’t have it. You see yourself without it. It is not an inner reality for you.

In order to have it

YOU must FIRST

See yourself WITH it.

I repeat:

You Must See Yourself With It In Order To Have It

If you don’t construct it first in the theater of your mind you won’t have it in your life. The outer reality comes from the inner reality and not the other way around. This is what you and most everyone of us miss. Thought precedes action! See it and you can have it!

The brain can’t go after what it doesn’t see or know it wants. You must inform it. You must tell it. You must teach it. The way you do that is to SHOW IT! The brain only responds to pictures and feelings that are intense and in present tense. You must see yourself having it NOW not some day. NOW!

You must see yourself ALREADY having it. You must see yourself as already in possession of that which you want. You must see yourself being it, doing it, having it, enjoying it. You must imagine life ‘as if’ you are already living that future reality and FEEL these feelings.

This is how you program your mind to go after what you want!

Visualization Should Always Be In The Present

Take the future out of your visualization. It must not be ‘some day I will have this’.

It must be ‘I AM this’.

Don’t think, affirm or visualize ‘I will be happy’ or ‘I will be rich’. Think and see ‘I am happy’. I am rich’.

You must use I AM or I HAVE to put your wants into the present tense. Whatever follows the words I AM or I HAVE is crucial. It must be stated in the positive. You must say ‘I AM Rich’ and  not ‘I am not poor’.

It must be deliberate and specific. See it, hear it, feel it, taste it, smell it. Imagine how good it feels in full, vibrant color. In 3 dimensions. Wonderful movies with complete sound and marvelous feelings.

Visualize Having It – Enjoy It – FEEL The Wonderful Feelings

Visualize why you want it. Imagine the reasons. Imagine the benefits you have from being, doing or having this. You’ll have peace of mind, enjoyment, love, happiness, confidence, etc. Enjoy all the benefits and all the incredible feelings right this instant as you visualize.

Do not worry about how you get it. Le go of the ‘how’ it happens. It is not your concern. You job is What and Why. How will take care of itself in time. The Wright Brothers did not know, prior to their first successful flight, how to fly. You won’t know how at first either.

You will discover soon enough the how and the plans becoming available to you as you keep what you want to have in your mind’s eye. This is where faith and trust in your inner resourcefulness comes in.

Trust that your mind will deliver the plan as you go along. Never be concerned with how only with the what and why. Give it over to god, or the universe or your unconscious processes while you focus on what and why. Do not get caught up in how – it won’t help you get it!

To help you make it most vivid describe what you want in your mind. Hand write it out on paper. Choose your words to help you visualize with more detail and realistically. Use powerful adjectives that make your description not only more vivid and realistic but delightful and wonderful.

Make mental movies of what you are doing, who you are with, where you are and fill in all the details. See yourself in the movie being what you want to be, doing what you want to do and having what you want to have. See yourself WITH IT! Right NOW!!!

In Order To Have It See Yourself In Possession Of It

Whether that ‘it’ is confidence, or a car IMAGINE what it is like to be it and own it. Feel it! Wrap yourself in the feelings. Bask in the feelings.

The most important part of this visualization process is to feel as though you already have it AND delight in the incredible feelings. Feel the gratitude and appreciation you’d have.

For example AND I use this only as an example. I do not recommend this playing the lottery.

If you imagined you won the lottery how would you REALLY feel if you looked in your hands and saw the winning ticket and knew that money was now going to be yours?

Believe It – Have Faith – Expect It – Because It Is Already Yours

How would you feel to take the ticket and have it verified that you indeed won. After that, it is only a matter of time until they cut you the check. You have won.

How do you feel knowing that money is yours? Even though you don’t have it in your hands it is designated to you. It is your money and it is coming sometime soon. HOW DO YOU FEEL? WHAT DO YOU FEEL?

I’m gonna bet you probably are feeling pretty fantastic! Am I correct?

Consider this: Nothing in your actual, present time, real life experience, has changed. From the moment your winning numbers are called to when you get the check nothing is different in your circumstances.

BUT your head is different. Your awareness has changed. You know it is your money. You know it is coming. You won it. You now have all this money headed your way.

BUT nothing has changed in your outer circumstances. Any challenges you had are still there. The people in your life, the house you are in, everything is still the same. Yet, you have changed on the inside. You feel and see another reality.

It is those feelings that make the difference! The feelings of already having. The feelings of knowing it is yours! You expect the money. You know it is yours. You believe it.

You Change First On The Inside Then Circumstances Follow

This is the kind of knowing that is important. This is what is meant when we say, Believe it and you will see it! Expect it.  When you have these powerful feelings of expectation that this GOOD is yours, even though circumstances haven’t changed, you and your life are transformed.

Another powerful way to imagine is to include moments when you can you live it and view it through your own eyes. For example, one way is seeing yourself in the car you want to own. Watch yourself get into it and drive and notice how good you look behind the wheel.

The other way is to put yourself in the driver’s seat and look out through the windshield, over your hands on the steering wheel. Feel the comfort of the seat. Feel your hands on the wheel and the sensation of driving the car. In other words, imagine exactly what it feels like to be driving the car.

In the first version you watch yourself drive the car and you notice how good it feels to see yourself do this. In the second version you feel exactly what it is like to be driving the car. You see what you see, and hear what you hear and feel what you feel as you drive along.

Program Your Mind – Visualize  Daily – Make It A Habit

You see what you see from your point of view inside the car. You hear through your ears the sounds of the auto and the roadway. You also hear your inner self-talk and what you say to yourself.

You enjoy the feelings in your body, your emotions and the sensations of driving this car on the road. You can notice what the new car smells like. Experience it as fully as you can.

Repeat this daily and often. See it, claim it, affirm it as already yours and you will make it happen. You become what you think about. You get what you focus on. What you think about you bring about. Spend time doing this each day and you program your mind to get what you want. You literally impress what you want onto and into the subconscious mind.

Know that this or something better is yours. Let go of how. Simply enjoy it. Feel it fully and feel how exciting it is. Visualize before you go to bed and when you arise in the morning. Set you night and your morning mind in positive ways. Remember, you get what you focus on. In order to have it you must first see yourself with it.

What you imagine in you head you can hold in your hand. This is how you begin to make your dreams a reality. First you create the inner reality and that becomes the outer reality. It has always worked this way. Everything that humans have ever made first began as an idea. It begins within your mind. Stop living without what you want and start making it happen.” Rex Sikes

Stop Being A Loser: How To Become A Winner!

“What can you do to feel better? What can you do to help make your dreams and desires a reality? Whether it is your career goals, a relationship, purchasing your dream home or having an incredible life there is something you can and must do to get it all working for you.

If you want to have what you want to have, and do what you want to do, it is important that you FIRST be what you want to and need to be. Everything you accomplish and gain comes first and foremost from who you are. It comes from the kind of person you are.

Identity Comes First – Who Before What

If you want happiness you must be a happy person first. That is the rule. If you want success and riches you must be successful and rich in your mind first then worldly riches follow. If you want to have great love and relationships you must love yourself first.

So before anything else you need to work on who you are!

So who are you? What kind of person are you? Are you a happy, positive, productive person? Are you a healthy, wealthy, loving person? Are you invincible and confident? Are you able to learn anything you put your mind to?

What image do you hold of yourself?

Building your positive self image is the most powerful practice you can engage in daily.  Every single day, at least twice and as often as you can, you need to spend time building this powerful self image. You spend time imagining the person you want to be. you go inside your mental movie theater and use your imagination to create the ideal you you always wanted to be.

See yourself as the person who is able to do and have everything you want to do and have. In your mind you ‘be it’ first. Thought precedes action. Then everything else will follow. What you think about you bring about. What you focus on you get. What you think about all day long is what you become.

If you can see it in your head you will one day hold it in your hand. This is why, Einstein said, ‘Imagination is more important than knowledge’.  Create the reality first on the inside and you will have it on the outside. Mind First then Actions Follow!

Everything You Do And Have Stems From Your Self Image

Use your imagination to see who you are. This is much more important than knowing how you do what you do or buy what you want. Use your imagination daily and it will become easier, richer, more vivid and more real.

If at first you only have a vague sense that is okay. It will clear up the more you do it. Stick with it. Spend 20 minutes twice a day if you can. At least. But if you truly can’t then do 5 minutes twice a day. After all, you are worth that much aren’t you? Your ability to visualize gets better the more you exercise it just as developing any muscle.

The important this is to image yourself and feel the feelings of being that self you want to be. Enjoy and celebrate how incredible it feels. Bask in the feelings. The feelings are the key component to your visualization. Your words and what you say about it is too. Use these together to reinforce you you want. Stay positive in all regards.

How do you build it? You build it by visualizing yourself as you want to be. See yourself as having already arrived. In your mind you act as if you are already everything you want to become.

You are already that! In reality it is true – you are already that person – even if you are not living as that person would. That is the real you, the ideal you, the person who is inside you that you need to let out. You ARE already that which you want to become. Claim it!

You affirm daily to yourself and out loud who this person is. You put a guard before your tongue so that your talk to others is only positive, to bless, heal and prosper yourself and them.  Your personal story and descriptions arise from this ‘ideal self’ so don’t go sabotaging your efforts by whining, complaining and blaming.

Ask Directed Questions™ that keep you focused on your ideal self. Ask questions that keep you moving in the direction you are moving towards. Direct your mind. So work on first establishing being the kind of person for whom all this is possible.

The most powerful visualization you can do for yourself is to first begin working on your self image.

Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge

See you as you want to be. See yourself as whole, not broken. See yourself as complete. See yourself as happy, fulfilled, confident, successful. See yourself learning and continuing to evolve. See yourself smart, wise, experienced.

See yourself as you want to be! As you are meant to be. See yourself as divine, inspired, motivated. See yourself as powerful, positive and compassionate. See yourself as decisive and persistent and able to follow through. See yourself as worthy and deserving of all good things.

See yourself as someone who can learn to do anything you put your mind to. See yourself as someone who can accomplish what you set out to do. See yourself motivated, take charge and in control. See yourself going for it and completing it.

Imagine yourself as someone who is optimistic and expects wonderful things to come your way. See yourself as someone joyful on the journey.

See yourself as one  who listens and who is compassionate and thoughtful of others. See someone who is valuable, abundant and worthy and recognizes that in others too. See someone with much to be happy for and rich in all ways. See someone who is thankful.

Every Day Imagine The Ideal You

See yourself with loving relationships and good connections with friends, family and even strangers. See yourself as loving and kind and compassionate. See yourself as helpful and encouraging to others.

See yourself as someone who can speak confidently and appreciate meeting and being with others. See yourself as someone who likes to explore new places, activities and ideas. See yourself as someone curious and filled with life. See yourself appreciating the tiny miracles of each moment.

Imagine yourself as someone who likes to do new things. Imagine yourself captivated and fascinated by what you discover that is good and new each day. See yourself celebrating and being grateful for everything and everyone in your life

Imagine yourself to be the kind of person who will get up after falling down. See yourself as a person who persists and keeps  your commitments and promises to self and others. See yourself as someone who learns from mistakes and never lets anything get them or keep them down for long. See yourself as someone who is unstoppable and who is able to learn.

Imagine yourself as someone open and flexible. Imagine yourself as one who can and will make whatever you positive things you want to happen, that are good for you and others, happen. You are confident and capable. See yourself as willing to learn how to do whatever is necessary to make your dreams come true by applying yourself and discovering more of your resources.

It Gets Easier And Easier The More You Do It

See yourself as happy and fulfilled. See yourself, not only as worthy and deserving but, as able to enjoy all the wonderful things you want. Imagine yourself as meant to do and have these incredible things because you are the kind of person for whom these things are meant for. You wouldn’t want them if you weren’t meant to have them.

Visualize yourself as you want to be and see yourself as already that. Feel what it feels like to be who and what and how you want to be. Hear what you sound like when you speak out loud and the sound of your own supportive and encouraging self-talk.

See how bright and wonderful the world appears through your eyes. Live it! Feel it fully! Appreciate these wonderful feelings and wrap them around you. Bask in these. Feelings drive the show. From the images we make feelings arise. Use these positive feelings by enjoying and accentuating them.

THIS IS CRITICAL!!!

Imagine everything as if it were real right now. This instant! This is you and your current reality! Do not imagine it being sometime in the future, imagine you are it right now! Don’t delay it for another time. You subconscious doesn’t know when someday is. It is eternally present. It acts now.

Act as if you are already that which you want to become with powerful positive wonderful feelings and your subconscious mind will get the message and respond. This is what is meant by using autosuggestion deliberately to get what we want. This is the conditioning process.

Just as pro athletes condition themselves for success so do the rest of us when we realize how important and valuable it is. Athletes work at it every single day. The provide themselves the right nutrition, the right amount of exercise and rest.

Every pro athlete knows the necessity of having the right mind set to gain the competitive edge. This is what we all must do in everyday life!

Wrap The Positive Feelings Around You 

Everything we do or accomplish arises from who we are. Our self image is important. Our thoughts about ourselves critical. If you want happiness and success to follow you YOU must first be happiness and success. It is the ‘who’ who does and gets what one wants. Your self image is so important to all of your happiness.

That is the way it works. ‘To those who have more shall be given’. Start by making yourself happy, resilient, flexible, successful, blissful and all else will follow. Begin with the best of you! Spend time developing the self image you want. Be like an athlete dedicated to you. Be devoted to being and doing the best for yourself!

IT is a choice. You are not saddled with or a victim of anything that you can’t right now choose to make different. Each second you have a choice to perpetuate an old way or develop and live from a new way. If the old way causes pain and suffering or if it is not working then it is time to chose another way, a new way.

Self Image Development Is Critical To Getting What You Want

Every truly happy and successful person already does this. Either they learned it growing up, lucky them, or later they became aware of the need to consciously choose. You make a decision. It is a deliberate choice. You can make this choice right now for yourself.

Know this. It is very simple. It is easy although it may not always be easy. You have to commit and stick with it when times get tough. That is just the way it is. If you want a radical positive life change than you must invest in yourself, and see it through. Everyone who arrives has to go through this.

There are times when an athlete wants to give up. In order to become the best they need to push through it and continue. They need to apply the training skills they have learned to keep going.

There is no getting a medal if they quit. They use their mental attitude to keep moving forward. That separates those who do and succeed from those who give up and go home.

It takes some time. Just as it takes time to build a house it takes time to build your self image in a positive way. You lay a strong firm foundation and once you do that you can build successsfully on top of it.  Once you begin this process, as you lay the foundation, it will get easier because you have that foundation to support you.

Self Image Development Is Critical To Enjoying What You Want

Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly at first. You get better in time the more you repeat the process correctly. You build positive habits. Anything worth having is worth the effort you put in to gain it. You have to pay the price. It is not for free. You have to labor to get what you want.

As it becomes habit it becomes automatic and reliable. Still, there are times when you deliberately choose to direct it. You drive your car in the same way. It is habitual and unconscious. You should never get behind the wheel when not fully conscious, alert, and sober.

Driving requires your conscious awareness and the unconscious the skills you learned and made habit. It is both. Use your conscious mind to direct your unconscious mind to become who you are destined to be.

You direct your inner movies the same way a movie director does. Put it together how you want it to be. Write your positive story. Your mental screenplay. Direct your mind as a traffic cop does. Be in charge of the flow. Take control of what you accept and reject. Make it how you want it. You are a master chef with all the right ingredients and the skills necessary. Make a marvelous dish!

As you do this you will create the new neural pathways replacing the old limiting ones. You will change to a new mental address just as when you move from one residence to another in actual life. It takes awhile to learn and recall and travel to the new address but once you ‘get it’ you automatically go there and let go of the old one.

Replace The Old With The New Easily

Your new self image will replace the old one of you. The one you did not deliberately choose. It will replace the one you were provided by others. Now you are free to choose to be who you want to be. You are free to choose the kind of person you are. This is incredible freedom and power you have available to you.

Spend time visualizing yourself each day and you will be surprised at how life can change and become more wonderful. You will find new things to delight and appreciate. If you have never spent time there you do not know what you are not noticing. You aren’t aware of what you are missing. Begin changing your life for the better now!

Update And Upgrade Your Self And Celebrate The New You

As you visualize and improve your self-image you will begin to notice your life becomes more enriching. As you place you attention in these new areas you find and learn new things to appreciate. Celebration helps you move forward and feel wonderful.

It all builds on itself. Once you take the small necessary steps you begin to walk a journey that continues to become more and more glorious as you continue forward. You discover more beauty and glory than you could have previously imagined. You negotiate and navigate through troubles easier and more resourcefully.

It is a process. All along the way you continue to move forward. Whether you walk easily into the valley or on the straight-a-way or whether you struggle up a hillside you are moving forward. You create momentum and continue delightfully on the journey.

You are moving forward in the right direction! You are coming into your strength and creative power. You are evolving yourself in a positive direction. You are releasing the person you have always been meant to be. Enjoy the process. Begin now and do not stop. Keep going until it pays off because the pay off is magnificent!” Rex Sikes

Use These 6 Simple Steps To Get Everything You Want

“Do you want more from life? Do you have everything you want yet? Would you like to know 6 easy steps that you can use to make your dreams come true?

Getting what you want can be difficult or easy. It is up to you. It depends on your mindset and your actions. It depends on your follow through. These 6 steps simply guide you and help keep you on track. Use them and you can revolutionize your life.

So, you set your goal. It is off in the future. What you do between then and now is important. Keep your expectations high. Keep faith in yourself and your ability to make your goal or dreams come true.

Stop Comparing Feel Good Instead

Between this time now and that time then keep your energy high and positive. Think and feel your very best. Spiritual people may say you need to vibrate happily. It is important we start from a good place. Mindset and attitude is everything. Positive expectations and faith in your ability to manifest the outcome you want are important.

The more positive, feeling good and happier you are the easier it all will be. Happiness brings more happiness. Success brings more success. Positive thoughts and positive feelings result in more of the same. Begin in the highest, positive place you are able. Focus on the positive and stay there.

Birds of a feather flock together. Whatever you think and feel positive or negative you attract more of. Be sure to chose the positive. Begin with high positive vibrations, mindset and attitude and you will get more back in return. It is important that you feel good. So, how do you feel good?

How To Feel Good

First: To help yourself feel good you  do those things that make you feel good. Use wise, healthy practices. Smile, laugh, do something nice for others. Do anything that makes you feel good. Walk, sing, dance. Go to a favorite place.

Clean your house if it makes you feel better. Treat yourself. Spend time with family or friends. Celebrate, count your blessings. Feel grateful. Volunteer, donate.  Do a favor or kindness. Anything healthy and positive that makes you feel better is available for you.

Second: Clarify what you want. Know your purpose. Set your goal. Be clear about what you want. Be committed. Affirm what you want and what you will do to get it. Affirm that you will keep at it no matter what. Be on purpose, be intentional, and keep your commitment.

Visualize it. Affirm it with strong feeling. Feel the firmness of your decision. Feel your resolve and joy and confidence Speak with authority. When you affirm and visualize imagine it as already completed. You have made it happen. Enjoy the feelings. Celebrate having made your dreams come true.

Get Clear On What You Want

Imagine having a discussion with someone close who celebrates you achievement and describe to this person how you made it happen. What easy step by step you took. How you kept your faith and persistence. Tell them why you  did it, what you did and how you did it to make it a reality for yourself.

Again remember, in your mind it has already happened and you have everything you want. Feel and bask in those feelings. As you picture and describe it and how you did it commit to taking the easy step by step approach. Work at making your goal come true bit by bit. Enjoy the process.

Three: Use your affirmations to describe you desired life. Be descriptive and use wonderful adjectives to put ‘oomph’ into your descriptions and affirmations and mental images. Make it vivid and glorious. The more strongly you feel as you describe and picture the more readily your subconscious mind gets the message.

Your pictures should support your affirmations and your affirmations should support help create your pictures. Describe the life you want as though you already have it. Feel what it is like to be there, having and doing those things. Feeling is most important. Keep all talk self-talk and other talk positive! Live your dreams in your mind fully as you are able.

Visualize, Affirm And Use Positive Self-talk

For example, if you want more money. Saying ‘I am debt free’.  Or ‘I have lots of cash’. May not make you feel very happy. The first puts your focus on debt. You want to put your focus on prosperity. You may wish to say, ‘I have all the money I need’.

But even the second example and this one may not trip your trigger too much. Piles of cash may be nice but some people are not that excited by green paper. It is what the green paper represents that is important. It is all you can do with lots of the green stuff that makes you feel good.

Think of all the things you will do with that money. It isn’t the money that makes you happy but what you are able to do because of the money.  You might love to travel or by a new home. It could be purchasing nice things makes you feel good. Perhaps it is  the security and confidence to be able to do whatever you want, with whomever you want, whenever you want makes you happy.

Think about it. Feel happy! Feel great and notice why you feel happy.  It is what you do with what you have is where the feelings come from.  Use what makes you feel the best.

Spaced Repetition Builds Habits

Fourth: Do it repeatedly. Do it every day. Spaced repetition develops habits. Everyday visualize and use affirmations. Keep in mind what predominately occupies your mind is what you get. What you think about most often you bring about. You get what you focus on. DO it everyday and do not stop.

Don’t miss a day. Commit. While that may seem like a big commitment there is a reason for it. Some people rationalize once they miss going to the gym or fudging on their diets and soon give it up. You don’t want to end up like one of those people do you?

Don’t let there be any room for not following through. Keep your promise to yourself. Consider this an investment in you and cherish this investment. Cherish yourself, value yourself enough to stick with it. Thought precedes action. Get you head together first and foremost.

Begin the day right. Start it off positive. Affirm and visualize. Then affirm and visualize  whenever you can during the day to stay positive. Fill your mind with positive thoughts, words and actions. Before you go to sleep count your blessings and affirm and visualize for your subconscious to work on while you sleep.

Take Action Steps

Fifth: Start moving forward. Take the first steps. Take action. Create momentum.  Follow through. During the time you were clarifying your goals and dreams and affirming and visualizing your mind, your subconscious, helps you create a plan.

Be aware of flashes of insights and ideas that you can do that help you get your goal. Work you plan. Plans may change but you don’t change you goal. You keep you intention and work creatively to get it. Remember, step by step you make your dreams come true.

With the right mindset in place, first, you will look for and you will find, you will make happen and attract, the right people, the right circumstances, events, and opportunities that are advantageous for you.

When you align your energies with what you desire and when you get congruent in your conscious intentions with your subconscious you become a creative force to be reckoned with. You become a powerful Can Do person.

You become a powerful Chooser. You determine your destiny. You begin to live as a champion and as a winner. You become a powerful creator who makes things happen. You become a magnet to attract all good things to you. What you put out to the universe you get back. Like attracts like.

Thought precedes actions. The most successful people already know and practice this. They either learned it deliberately or stumbled on it. Those who struggle in life often work hard and wonder why their actions aren’t paying off. Have you ever? If so, you must get your mind in the right place first. Then everything else can line up behind it and work.

As Above So Below As Within So Without

Sixth: Get the Within in order and the Outer will follow. Take care of your mind and body. Consume healthy nutrition to feed the mind as well as the body. Read positive books and articles. Listen to positive talks and speeches. Attend positive events and seminars.

Consider finding and spending time with people who are already doing what you want to do well. Also find those who are pursuing it as you are too. If you want to get good at anything you need people around you who are good and better.

You don’t want to be the smartest person in the room because you won’t learn anything. If you want to learn to play chess, or basketball you need to be around others who play the game. If you want to be the best then you need to spend time around those who are the best.

Find a community of positive, encouraging, supportive people to hang out with. It will make a big difference. Not only can they encourage and support and contribute to you but you can for them. The practice of contributing to others also makes you happier and healthier and stimulates you to get all the good things you want.

Bonus: Take time and apply these six steps and you will rock your world. You will transform yourself and your life in positive and dynamic ways. You will begin to experience many good things that will delight and surprise you. While on the path put your attention on the successful steps you take. Put your attention on the wins, large or small.

Keep Your Focus On The Steps You Can Take 

When climbing a mountain it is recommended to look down a few paces ahead of your feet. Do not look at the peak. The contrast of where you are and where you need to get to is vast and may cause you to lose faith and give up if you constantly compare. It drains you of your energy and confidence.

If you keep your focus on the few paces in front of your feet you are making the journey step by step. You are moving forward and no longer comparing. You can celebrate each step knowing you are getting closer. You are winning each step of the way. You are keeping your focus on what you can do.

Yes, it tricks the mind and you into sticking with it by making it easier for you. The same is true of our goals. Keep you attention on the small wins. Each step you take in the right direction is positive. Do not compare, let go of the when and be grateful for the now.

Do these six or seven things. Start today. Never wait when opportunity presents itself. Take advantage of now! Fill yourself up with feeling good and thinking good. Begin surrounding yourself with quality people. Focus on the small wins along the way. Enjoy the journey and you will make your dreams come true. Never quit.” Rex Sikes

“Many people aren’t aware of what holds them back. Are you? Yes, some can point to things that keep them stuck, and think, ‘if only this weren’t the case then I’d be better off’ and they may be correct. You could also be missing it by a long shot. Do you know why? Do you know what the number one predictor or ingredient for success is?

By success I mean over all well-being, happiness and enjoyment or satisfaction with life. I mean good health, career success, family and relationships, owning the possessions you want. I mean being able to be, do and have anything you want when you want it. Success can be part of anything it doesn’t have to just mean dollars and fame.

Are Hidden Assumptions Driving You

In my last post I shared with you this story of Houdini. I repeat it here for those who may not have read it yet. If you did read it GO ahead and re-read it again. Some things are worth re-visiting and repeating. I made some additions to it too.

Houdini, is the world’s greatest showman and most re-known escape artist. He is still remembered almost 100 years after his death for his amazing feats. Houdini traveled, during the days of vaudeville, to different towns and cities performing feats of daring, escape and magic.

In order to get people to his nightly shows he would do stunts during the noon hour. Sometimes, it was his famous suspended straight jacket escape. Other times it was to challenge the local police departments to lock him up inside a jail cell, naked and heavily chained and handcuffed.  He would always escape,

He recounted a time when he was cuffed, chained and imprisoned. Being a master locksmith and lock picker he gained access to his hidden pick and went to work on the locks. Freeing himself from the cuffs and chains he tried the door. Nothing. He could not get the mechanism to turn over. He continued. He tried and he tried!

What normally took minutes, was taking more time. An hour passed and he feverishly worked trying to open the lock. Normally, he was out in minutes, dressed and presenting his ‘miracle’ escape to the police and the press who stood by waiting. Houdini had never previously been defeated. ONE defeat could mean his whole career!

Mental Training Gives You The Edge

Another half hour passed. He was beginning to panic. His training however, included keeping calm under pressure. More than having a trained body having a trained mind was crucial in his business. He placed himself in jeopardy and could not risk having a mind that did not remain calm and methodical in crises situations. He was tired, sweating, nearly defeated.

He leaned back against the door for rest, exhausted and it swung open. He stood transfixed. There in front of him was an open door. It had never been locked! In this one time, with all the commotion restraining him in cuffs and chains and the press noting every moment, the police forgot to lock the door. No one noticed the mistake. NOT even Houdini!

He spent over 90 minutes wondering why he could not get the tumblers to turnover. He spent 90 minutes with his career most likely flashing before his eyes. He spent 90 minutes IMPRISONED in a jail cell when he was actually a free man. The fact that the door was not locked was LOST on him. For all practical intents and purposes he was a prisoner.

Had he not accidentally leaned against the door he would have never known. In this case, he walked out opened the cell containing his clothes got dressed and strolled out having defeated the police as he always had in other cities. He could rightly inform them that this jail cell had been his most challenging ever!

Become Aware So You Can Claim What You Want

We are already free! Unless we claim it and act on it we will act as a prisoner of our past. We will act as a prisoner of our present circumstances. The time comes for each of us to open the door on our lives and walk through it a champion.

He was free but didn’t know it. He missed that and might have given up. He was fortunate in this case, but luck wasn’t something Houdini could rely on. He had to rely on his mental and physical preparation AND take advantage of opportunity when it presented itself.

Keep in mind Houdini was trained to escape. He spent years conditioning his mind and body to serve him in harrowing and dangerous times. He dedicated his life to his training of himself. He challenged himself continuously. He challenged the world to constrain him, to lock him up, in something he could not escape from.

He knew that in order to perform and to succeed he had to think right first. He understood the steps to success. Proper thinking and physical conditioning is what gave him the edge. It was why he always triumphed. Proper thinking and condition is why he became successful. Houdini was persistent. He knew he would always make it and he never gave up.

Free Yourself From The Past

We can do similarly. We can train our minds to serve us to deliver to us the kind of life experience we want. We can condition ourselves to be successful prior to any success or happiness showing up. We can make it through tough times and easy times when we take charge of our thinking process and make it work for us.

There is NO need to live as a prisoner to the past. The past has no actual connection to the present or the future except what we assign to it. We live from stories and scripts we have been told and we tell ourselves. There is no need to live as a prisoner of circumstances. Circumstances need not dictate to us how life will be. We should be determining that!

Houdini expected the door to be lock. It always had been. That was the point to escape from a locked cell. His expectations governed his behaviors. Since the door was locked he had to get the lock open. He used his tools, his know how or expertise and he went to work. It was frustrating work unlocking this door.

You Can Overcome Difficult Present Circumstances

He continued to try. He tried and tried. It never occurred to him to TRY the door! It of course, was locked. Even though it wasn’t he ASSUMED it was. His mind set, his expectations determined his course of action. It determined his thoughts. He must have been very frustrated and confused trying to get the lock open and not having any success. He did this countless times before.

Still, he never thought to try the door to see if it was open. I bet he did after this experience. So he toiled. As I stated, though methodical and with a highly trained mind  to remain calm in dangerous and trying circumstances, I bet he began to imagine the headlines reading ‘Houdini Defeated’.

It most likely made him work harder and be more frustrated or scared. Still, he could not let it get to him or distract him from getting the lock open. I bet he probably worked all the harder on that ‘damned locked door’ because he never thought it wasn’t locked at all. He was for all practical intents and purposes a prisoner ONLY because of his mind. He operated from his assumptions.

Expectations Form Your Prison Or Your Liberation

His expectations led him to believe, because of past circumstances, that he was a prisoner and locked in. I don’t know that I would have challenged those assumptions either. He may have even confabulated.  He may have, made up, and remembered that they DID lock the door, when the reality was otherwise. He lived from this version of reality.

He was locked in and he must get the lock open or his career is over. His situation illustrates what we mean by Believing is Seeing. BELIEVING IS Seeing! Erroneously, many people thing it is the other way around but it isn’t.

People think they will believe something once they see it. They wait for proof. In actuality we only see the things we ALREADY believe. The rest tends to be filtered out. We miss it. It is not inside our awareness. We see only what we already believe. We live from the reality we imagine just as Houdini’s example demonstrates.

Because our beliefs and expectations are mental filters they act like blinders. We can only be aware of what we expect to be aware of. Most of us don’t realize this so we act as if it were otherwise. This issue alone is much of the cause of our misunderstanding, our okay acceptance of lack luster living and of our suffering.

Historically, people have imprisoned and punished others because they believed them guilty. They looked at whatever evidence was compiled for and against, made a decision and carried out actions because they BELIEVED they were acting correctly. Sometimes they did. Other times they made horrible mistakes and punished the innocent.

Believing Is Seeing

We have gone to war because we believed it was necessary. Perhaps we were correct in some cases or perhaps there were alternatives we didn’t notice BECAUSE we didn’t know alternatives existed. We were blinded by what we believed was the right thing to do. We didn’t know that other ways existed hence we couldn’t and didn’t entertain them.

We act from the limitations of our expectations as well as from the heights of our expectations. If we expect to find difficulty we will. If we expect it to be easy, we will. Even, while it may be tough, we may actually find it easier than if we think it difficult. Our mind set paves the way for us.

If we expect to be successful and happy these expectations organize our perceptions, our thoughts, our feelings and behaviors. Everything originates from the mind set we hold. Expectations, our beliefs and attitudes, set the frame from which we operate. They govern what we see and find in the real world and what we do and how we behave.

Have you every proved yourself correct in this next example. You look for an item, perhaps your keys, and you can’t find them. You exclaim to yourself or others, ‘I can’t find them. I have no idea where they are’. Then someone hands them to you stating, ‘they are right here.’ To your amazement you discover that they were right there in front of you the entire time but you missed them.

If It Is Possible Or Not Is Up To You

You couldn’t find them because in your mind you kept thinking ‘I don’t know where they are’ or some equivalent thought. I certainly, have done this many times. Our expectations, our beliefs set the framework. They govern what we notice and what we don’t. We operate from these thoughts. These thoughts determine our successes.

Whether we believe something is possible or impossible dictates how much we will try. The issue for us to recognize is, just like Houdini, we may be operating from assumptions and expectations that do not serve us in every situation. We may think we can’t do something when in fact we are very capable of doing it.

Henry Ford stated, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are right.’ This topic is an important one for our consideration. What do you let stop you? Is it real or imagined?

Attitude Is Everything! Attitude Determines Your Altitude 

Even if you say it is real – is it? Houdini thought he was operating from accurate information on real world circumstances. What if you are wrong and you can do it successfully? What if you can do it but you don’t do it because you don’t believe you can? That would suck, wouldn’t it?  How much might you miss out on because of your beliefs?

This is why feeling successful and happy precede being successful and happy. Mindset determines what we find, and what we do. This is why the aphorism ‘Attitude is everything!’ is so important. It shapes and governs how we move in the world, what we do, what we create and make happen. It governs what we attract.

We can alter or change our mindset. THAT is great news. We can make changes. We can take control. We can dictate and chose what we will think and feel most of the day. We can expand our awareness to include more opportunity, advantages and good times. We can make a world of difference for ourself when we take charge and seek to become aware. Think positive and keep evolving!” Rex Sikes
