How To Stop Unwanted Habits That Prevent Your Success

Everything we do we do as a result of habits and patterns. Brain scientists tell us that most everything we think and do today we did the day before and the days before that. Situations may come and go, the world changes, but for the most part we react the same way or similarly most, if not, all of the time. We are already on automatic and have limited choices.

Your acceptance or reluctance to accept this notion is based on your habitual thinking. What you believe about yourself, others and the world are patterns of thought you most likely have maintained for a very long time and you may not even be sure how you came to think this way. It is estimated we think at least 60,000 thoughts a day and upwards of 60% of those are the same thoughts we thought the day before. We are habitual and routine.

This is a great thing! It is also an area of difficulty for some of us. If our habits developed and we feel wonderful and productive and filled with well-being then they serve us. If on the other hand we feel down, bored, sad, mad or unable to get ahead they seem to work against us.

The definition of insanity, you may recall, is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. We can’t continue doing the same things habitually while hoping the end result will be different. That is insane. The good news is we can develop new habits that serve us and that work automatically and reliably to help bring us the good results we desire. We can definitely learn to acquire these new beneficial habits. Keep this in mind: We can acquire new habits!

It is simple!  It is easy enough! It does require some effort.  You do have to engage the new process and do it as often and  for as long as it takes to wire it in. Not everyone is willing to do this but if you want to you can develop reliable positive new ones.

Repetition is what builds the muscle in exercise and it is the mechanism by which we do most everything. If you moved to a new house or got a new job do you recall that sometimes you may have discovered yourself taking the old route to the old home or place of work? You did that because it was a habit.

You knew you were going to the new place but somewhere you realized you had headed back to the old place. In time, by repeatedly traveling the new route to the new home or work you got used to it. After awhile the new route became second nature and you no longer went the old way. It became wired in. It became the new habit. You now went to the new place automatically!

You didn’t have to effort a whole lot you just had to take the new route. Whenever you discovered yourself going the old way you made adjustments and went the new way. It wasn’t that difficult and soon enough the new way replaced the old way.

The same thing happens as we develop positive habits in our thinking, our feeling and our behaviors. There is a tendency and a pull to do things the old way but in time and through repetitive practice you get the hang of the new way. The key is sticking with it long enough for the new way to take hold. If you give up and quit the new possibilities will never take hold.

Much depends on your commitment and enthusiasm and  the reasons why you want to develop new ways of thinking, being and behaving. Your motivation determines how much and how far you will go. The good news is that while the beginning may be slow and take a little time after awhile you do develop a momentum. You will begin to experience the good results you desire. The new results replace the old ways and work automatically. Great news don’t you think?

Consider this. You plant a seed and give it time to grow by waiting patiently. When the seed breaks ground as a young plant you nurture it along. You give it what it needs to mature.  You do the same thing to develop new habits of thought, feeling and behavior. Give your new thoughts, feelings and behaviors the time and opportunity to develop as habits and they will. Your new better, positive, productive habits will take hold and grow strong. This is just the way it works!

We will discuss this more in depth. I suggest you also go back through the blog and re-read posts again and again. That repetition is important! Just as you feed yourself food on a daily basis for the body you should feed yourself positive, inspirational, motivational food for the heart, soul and the mind. Use this blog, inspirational books and audios too. Your car is a great place to listen. Fill your being up!

Fill yourself with the best thoughts and feelings. Even a little bit each day is better than none. Make this part of your daily regime and it will become a habit. The more you do the more you can do. Skill comes from doing. Repeat the good things you want more of and you will get them!

You can develop positive powerful habits that serve you and move you forward towards everything you want in life and you can absolutely break and replace old habits that hold you back. You just have to decide that you are going to! Then do what it takes. Inch your way there if you want to but do something each day in your own best interests and before long you will see good results.

If you really want to do something you will find a way. If you don’t want to do something you will find the excuses. Every day can be a glorious wonderful day regardless of what comes along to try to spoil it. You can learn how to respond instead of react automatically. Soon the ability to freely respond becomes a habit to replace the old one.

Anything is possible when you allow for it and do whatever it takes to make it happen.  Learn to live and enjoy life in dynamic new ways. The world is here for you to enjoy and delight in!” Rex Sikes

What is Your Purpose? Why You Must Know!

“Why are you here? What do you want to be and do more than anything else? What are you most passionate about? What is your mission during this lifetime?

Through the  eons thought leaders have pointed out that there were those who succeeded in life making their dreams come true. There were those who failed who did not or seemingly could not make it.

The major reasons for failure  pointed out was that people ‘drifted’. Those who had no ‘definite chief aim’ or purpose in life failed because they did not define or clarify what was most important to them.

Almost every self help text and book written through the ages points out you must know your purpose in life and pursue it. A definite purpose gives your life and actions meaning. To not go after something bigger than yourself is to live aimlessly. Drifting means to be tossed around like a cork bobbing in the water. So why are you here?

Think of it as a destination. When you know where you want to go you can figure out how to get there. You know when you are getting closer. If you have no clue where you want to end up you never actually arrive. Knowing your destination gives you something to aim at. Knowing your purpose gives your life meaning and direction.

It is important  to ask ourselves and determine what makes us most passionate? It could be great wealth, it could be service to others, it could be being an actor or artist, it could be becoming a loving parent, it could be working in science, finance, teaching, nursing, carpentry. What it might be is wide open. ‘IT’ could be anything!

It could be anything but only you will know what that is! No one else can tell you or inform you what you definite purpose or chief aim in life is.

SO Why are you here? What do you want to be and do more than anything else? What are you most passionate about? What is your mission?

The secret is to discovering or determining your purpose is to ask yourself what you want in life?  What do you love doing more than anything else?  It is the most important thing you can do for yourself and the world.

People who reach the pinnacles pursue their purpose non-stop day and night. They know why they are here and what they must do, They know why they must do it. It has been said, ‘what consumes your mind controls your life’, ‘what you think about you become!’

It can be challenging finding your purpose but once you do your life will never be the same. Once you clearly know it and focus on it you most likely will make it happen because you will be driven to. You will focus all of your energy and your thoughts on pursuing it. Every moment becomes and opportunity to make it happen. You will make opportunities and discover them as well. Defeats will always only be temporary along the road.

When you consciously and unconsciously know your purpose every atom of your being ‘gets it’.

Few people ever define their purpose. It is said 5% or less actually think about it and write it down. Those who do discover theirs almost always achieve it because their entire being is aligned, congruent, dedicated and determined to succeed. They stop at nothing because they know why they are here and what they are to do with their lives.

You definite chief purpose can be a permanent overall life time pursuit. The one aim for your entire life.  You may have different goals or purposes for different areas of your life or for different projects. You can have more than one purpose.  Your purpose may be different at different times in your life. Spring and autumn differ. To begin the process just look at what you are most passionate about.

Some people find their purpose by discovering what they like and are most passionate about. Others discover their purpose in disaster, tragic circumstances, through suffering or loss. Many fail only to rise like a phoenix and go on to great things. Adversity and failing can be the very impetus that causes people to take stock and decide what they want and to go after with every fiber of their being.

Many learn to live in powerful and positive ways and inspire others inviting them to live positively too. They make an impact on the world and they touch the lives of others by finding what is truly most important to them. Some people dedicate themselves to making the world a better place one person at a time beginning with themselves, while others work for large groups of people.

The key to any great success is to find your purpose, discover, determine your definite chief aim in life.

This is an important theme we have discussed in this blog and will return to again and again. For this moment, get clear! Ask yourself:

What do you love to do more than anything else? What positive  impact would you like to make on the world? Why are you here? What are you to do in this lifetime? What are you passionate about?

Life is too short to not go after what you want. You don’t want to waste your life because of the day to day demands placed on you. So remember the saying ‘where there is a will there is a way’. You can go after your definite chief aim starting right where you are at this moment.

You may not know the way yet, don’t worry, you don’t have to, just get clear on your purpose first. Everything else will begin to fall in place when you do. Remember, we become what we think about most often!” Rex Sikes

To Succeed You Must Visualize Your Success!

“You want success, don’t you? If there are hurdles or challenges, or ceilings in your way wouldn’t it be nice to know how to overcome these? If you could find away to accelerate having that success sooner wouldn’t that be wonderful? Imagine making your goals and dreams come true more quickly? The bottom line is you can! It is up to you whether you will do it or not.

If you will spend a few minutes each day visualizing your goals and dreams as already complete, already accomplished, you can drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to realize them. You can  quicken your realization of your desires and ambitions.

We think in pictures, images and mental movies. If you are like 99.9% of other people you think in pictures. If you grew up seeing you think in pictures. Words and sounds accompany the images as do feelings.

Most of our images operate outside of our awareness or consciousness. We can consciously engage the process when we want to remember something or are planning or engaged in other activities. Sometimes, someone says something and we respond by saying ‘thanks for the visual’ because an image, often unwanted, pops into our awareness.

Okay, try this on. Stop and take a moment to really do this. Check it out! What comes into your mind when I say the word ‘dog’?

What kind of dog is it? Was it your dog or someone else’s? Is the dog from the present or another time in your life?

Okay, good. Now what happens when I say, ‘wet dog’? Is it the same or different dog? Is it at the same time or a different time? Good, now try this, ‘bad dog’. What changes?

You may have seen vivid images or barely been able to notice them, yet, you still were able to come up with an answer.

See, we don’t have to do anything to see mental images. It isn’t as if we have to try. It is true that some of us have developed the ability further than others of us. No worries, we all can improve it.

Just as muscles increase in size through repeating exercise so does our capacity to visual increase. We can enhance it! There are a number of benefits to developing our ability to visualize including clearer thinking, attention to detail and improved memory.  I want to focus on one benefit today; the ability to make your goals and dreams come true. When we see what we want we can get what we want.

When you repeatedly send crystal clear image messages to your unconscious mind it brainstorms ways, outside of consciousness, to accomplish it. It is as if you aim a laser beam at a target. When you vividly imagine what you want you are defining it clearly and powerfully for yourself.

You don’t even need to know how you will accomplish your goal. You just need to see it as ALREADY accomplished. You do this repeatedly! You do this daily. You stick with it.

It is a very simple practice!  Sit or lie back  in a comfortable position with  closed eyes and image your goals and desires as already completed. See yourself, as in a movie, and notice how you look, sound and behave when you are behaving as you want to be and doing and have everything you want in the future.

For example: If you want a new home see yourself in the new home. Imagine it in as much detail as possible. See each room, the decor, walk through the house. See the inside details and the outside. Imagine what it is like to live in it. Watch yourself enjoying it, driving up to it in a great car etc. It is your future make it what you want it to be.

After a few minutes of visualizing in this manner, switch your position and look out through your own eyes and see what you see in that future. Hear what you say and the sounds and feel what it feels like to behave, do and have your desires and goals met. Savor, linger and delight in the feelings.

A few minutes visualizing every day will develop your ability to see it more clearly if you don’t at first. Just imagine and keep going. You are sending a powerful message to your unconscious about what it is you want to make happen. You are initiating and accelerating your abilities conscious and unconscious to accomplish your desires.

Do not be concerned with how it will happen. The how will come in time. You own mind will reveal plans in time. You will get ideas, inspirations and intuitions to act on as you continue. Maybe not right at first, so let it go, have faith and just imagine it as though it all already is accomplished.  Just keep with the practice a prescribed. Notice and enjoy the incredible feelings that accompany having everything you want.

Remember, we become what we think about most often! If you can hold it in your head you will hold it in your hand.What consumes our mind controls our life. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe you can achieve are all reminders that you can make this all happen.

Visualize when you first wake up in the morning. You can do it before even getting out of bed. Throughout the day whenever you have a moment close your eyes and relive these positive images, sounds and feelings. Before going to sleep, after you do your list of everything you are grateful for, spend moments visualizing your goals. This is a great way to drift off to sleep with the last thoughts of the day about accomplishing your dreams. Make some special time daily to do this!

The goal is to feel good. So if at anytime during your visualizing you don’t feel wonderful, adjust the movie so that you do. The less than glorious feeling is just a signal telling you to adjust, something is a miss and you need to make it an adjustment. The goal is to feel good when you imagine your future. The goal of life is to feel incredible!!!

The goal is to feel wonderful throughout the day. So enjoy the wonderful feelings, find everything in your present to feel grateful for and spend time affirming your ability and power as a magnetic attractor and creator. Affirm and appreciate your ability to make you future come true.

THEN, no matter what happens around you, if the world crumbles, remember this has absolutely noting to do with your desires or your future. Keep your eye on the prize. Realize that the seeds that get planted grow underground in darkness for a duration of time.

The weather may be raging above ground but the seeds continue to grow. They take time to sprout. HAVE faith that ultimately, in whatever time it takes, you will accomplish what you want to accomplish as long as you stay with it and do not quit. You will succeed!

Whatever current challenges you face  appreciate them and you will get through them much faster. There is something to learn and opportunity hidden within every challenge if you only just look for it. Stay focused on what you want to make happen! Appreciate the present circumstances and do not let anything dampen your spirit about your future. Enjoy the present AND the future. Make the journey delightful regardless of what life throws at you.

Think About What You Think About

we are our choices

“At any given moment either you think positive or negative. Either you build or you destroy. Either you feel good or you feel bad. Either you are happy or you are not. Either you are a victor or a victim. Positive thinking is not so much about changing the world around you as it is how you respond to the changing world around you.

If you are not thinking and responding positively, powerfully, productively how are you thinking and responding? Either you are moving forward or not. Either you are making things happen or not. Either you are in charge or you are not. What you think and feel and say and do make all the difference. What are you thinking, feeling, saying and doing that makes life better for yourself? Either you are manifesting good things or you are not.

We become what we think about most through out each day. Our repetitive thoughts, habits and patterns define us. Either you are making happen what you want to happen or you are not. Either you decide to take control or you do not. Either you are planning or you are not. Either you are working your plans or you are not. Either you find a way or you find an excuse. Either you are doing it or you are not.

Think about what you think about. Think about what you think about yourself, others, events, circumstances and the world around you. Either you enjoy or you don’t. Either you love or you don’t. Either you are thankful or you are not. Either you accept or you don’t. Either you believe or you don’t. Either you give your you don’t. Either you create or you don’t. Either you ask or you don’t. Either you allow or you don’t. Either you receive or you don’t.

What are you thinking about most throughout each day. What are your saying to yourself? What are you picturing in your minds eye? What are you feeling like most of the time? If you aren’t in control who is? If you don’t control it who will? if you don’t do it now when will you? Either you will or you won’t.

It is true you have to pursue you dreams, remain dedicated and consistently keep moving forward to accomplish your goals. How you do that and who you get to surround you is important. People either want to see you go far and help you or they will be happy to see you fail. Some might even take pleasure in helping to make that happen.

Even though it is your personal path to get ahead it is always about the other people you come into contact with. You  attract others most like you. Birds of a feather flock together. SO celebrate people, be supportive, encouraging, and an inspiration. Always talk nicely about everyone. Don’t whine complain, blame, badmouth or gossip.

Go out of your way to inspire, motivate, and help others. When you give freely to others, without conditions, you’ll be recognized as a genuine, kind and caring person. You will move forward faster.

People like people who actually like people! People tend to say yes to the people they like. It is easy to say no to someone you do not care about. Perhaps, it’s even satisfying to say no to someone you don’t like. When you are nice to people first they feel more inclined to be nice towards you. When you help others, others tend to want to help you. It just works that way. People will respond to  help you move ahead!

It is called the Law Of Reciprocity and it works like this. You go out for the evening and someone buys your dinner. What do you say and do? You say, ‘next time I buy’. Why?  Because you feel like you ought to. Someone did you a kindness and you want to do one back. You feel obligated. You feel you owe them in return. You want to ‘do the right thing’ and be nice. You don’t want to leave it uneven.You want to even up the score.

It works the other way too. Someone calls you a nasty name or gives you the finger. What do you feel like doing? Probably the same, or even worse. We feel compelled to even the score.

Since these laws are always working anyway make the Golden Rule and the Law Of Reciprocity work for you. They never cease to be in operation! So whether you are at home, at play or on the job learn how to utilize them so you and everyone else benefits.

Be grateful. Be thankful for everything big and small. People can tell when a person lives with gratitude and appreciation. Express your gratitude, send a note, say thanks often. Breaks come much quicker when we are optimistic, positive, and appreciative because we are more desirable to be around.

Consider these next examples:  Movie Stars are movie stars because people want to know them. They are sought after and people want to be around them. People even want to be them! They have ‘something’ that makes them different from everyone else. People are excited when a celebrity is gracious, down to earth, and a real genuine person! They are ecstatic if the celebrity takes an interest in them asks them questions and really listens. They feel touched by greatness. It is a moment they may always remember. You have the opportunity to make yourself memorable!

You have an important fun trip planned. You are going to be camping in the wilderness. (Even if you hate camping imagine this). WHO do you invite along? What kind of people would you take with you if you wanted a wonderful time?  What qualities in the are important? What kind person would you not want to be there.

I’m not asking you  which friends can pitch a tent or drink the most around a campfire while telling  great stories. I am asking you to consider whether you’d want a cooperative, good natured, giving person to accompany you, the kind of person I’ve been describing in these posts, or someone in it just for themselves?

When people hire this is the kind of consideration they have? Who do they want around for a long time? If it is between you and someone else why should they pick you?

Accept 100% responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, words and actions and you can make great things happen. You will never be able to move ahead easily if you put the responsibility on or blame others for your success or failures. Whatever is going to happen will be up to you. It will be due to the kind of person you are or are not!

If you want to be successful faster and move forward more easily then transform yourself into the kind of person other people want to be around and see succeed. It is all up to you!” Rex Sikes

How To Accelerate Your Career Success!

“YOU succeed much faster when people like who you are and what you are. Everything I have shared, in my recent posts, about the Golden Rule, the Platinum Rule and acting in loving ways towards a partner, your family, associates and even strangers is applicable to your career and your job success. Behave in loving ways and you can ignite your career track beyond belief!

When you fist behave lovingly toward others AND yourself, when you hold others and yourself in the highest esteem, you are transforming yourself and your relationships in positive ways. Others will notice and you will stand out in the crowd. Your energy will be uplifting, dynamic, confident and kind. You will set your self apart from all the rest who just go about life and their career with only themselves in mind.

People will be attracted to you because you are operating from higher positive intentions. You are filling your mind and your heart, your feelings, your words and your actions with positivity. When you wish the very best for others, and do the best to help them feel loved, accepted, valued, and supported, without seeking to get anything back, you ultimately gain more in return than you can ever imagine!

In your career, and in all business, when you go the extra mile, when you help your boss or others get ahead without being asked to and without expecting payment you demonstrate that you are a person of integrity and high-value. You display initiative when you help others meet their needs. If you can save them time, money or energy you will be sought after. If you will do what most others refuse to do you can most likely write your own ticket.

When you are so filled with the joy of living and loving, when your thoughts and feelings and actions are congruent and aligned with these high positive intentions you are a joy to be around. You are someone people want to associate with and you become indispensable to others. When you put others first you make yourself a genuine team player. You make yourself invaluable.

The issue with so many pursuing careers is that they only see others as stepping stones for getting where they want to get. These types tend to be aggressive and use people.  They complain and whine about the circumstances or actions of others. They are envious when other people get the job or move forward advancing their careers. This type of person is more than competitive, they think and speak and act only with regard to themselves. They are easily identifiable and if not easily avoidable many will do their best not to have to interact, be around, or work with them.

You have to know that no one ever, EVER, makes it on one’s own. It is a network of co-operating resources that enable people to do well in the world. Would you believe someone who claimed, ‘Hey I go out and get the raw materials, I mine them. I transport them in my own vehicle to bring them back. I manufacture them all alone and I promote and market them without any assistance from anyone. Then I sell them all by myself off my own website. NO one has ever helped me.’ Perhaps, that is true, but the people who purchased your product are the ones who help make you successful!

Without these people you wouldn’t have any money. So even in the rarest of all circumstances, as in this example, there are others involved who are responsible for this person’s success.  There are other ways people contributed to the process indirectly. Someone made the vehicle and made gasoline available. Someone manufactured  the tools the computers and the marketing means. Others are involved whether they are given recognition or not.

Alright, so that was an extreme example of someone determined to claim no one ever helped them. For most of us many people help us all along the way. Some do it freely and others charge for their services. The point is we are interconnected. We don’t actually live in complete isolation. We depend on others and others depend on us. This is why networking is so important. Ultimately, we  all help each other.

If you really want to get ahead apply the Golden Rule.  Add value to others first. Hold everyone in the highest possible regard.  Go out of your way to be positive and nice and behave in loving and kind (appropriate) ways and you will endear others to you. Birds of a feather flock together so you will discover other incredible people who will support and encourage you too.

Give first without asking in return and you will get back because people want to return kindnesses. Be helpful and respectful, don’t be a pest. Be positive, don’t complain or blame others. Don’t gossip.

Celebrate joyously when others succeed and you will do much to increase the likelihood of your own success. There are people watching you on your career path and they can tell when you are genuinely interested in others. People can tell when someone is only in it for themselves.

Consider yourself as a beacon, a  walking billboard. You advertise exactly who you are and what your values are the moment you enter a room or open your mouth. People can see you coming a mile away and they are either deliriously happy when you arrive or they want to flee.

Be the kind of person other people really want to be around and you will go far. Smile, be happy and enthusiastic.

When you go for an interview or an audition remember your energy either fills the room with powerful friendly presence or it sucks the energy from the room. Those you are meeting can immediately tell whether you are a life giver or a vampire. If you want a chance at a call back or to book the job or get the position people must feel that you are someone they want to be around and spend time with.

Yes, it is important to be talented. You should be qualified and right for the part, or the position.  Still, who you are matters so much more than what you can do. If you want the chance, if you want  the opportunity for yourself to get ahead and skyrocket your career be the best person you can be AND be the best in your work. How To Eliminate Unwanted Negative Habits That Hold You Back

“It doesn’t matter what we face in our everyday lives. Whether our lives are okay or downright terrible we will gain great benefit and overall well-being when we begin to embrace a lifestyle filled with positive thinking and with positive habits. Since everything begins with thought we begin there. We make the decision to deliberately manage our thinking. We train our mind to see the good in everything. We make this a habit by repetition. I have shared many ways to do this in previous posts. The point is to begin. When you begin everything that can follow becomes possible. When you don’t start anew everything remains the same. It is up to you which kind of life you want to have.

The key to changing negative habits into positive ones is to replace them. If you have not been thinking positively much of your lifetime you begin easily. Choose an affirmation you can repeat throughout the day. Repeat it silently to yourself when around others but energetically and with enthusiasm shout it out repeatedly when alone. Positive added energy brings faster results. Keep doing this daily. You can add other positive affirmations that make you feel good too.

Look for the good and new in each moment, person, event and circumstances. Learn the art of reframing by focusing on the positive aspects and benefits that may reside in each (even hidden in each). What else could be possible besides the obvious less than glorious circumstance? What positive benefit may be hidden? What else could this mean that may be positive?

Train your mind to look for and find the silver lining in each dark cloud. Repeat this frequently and you will begin to develop the habit of seeing situations and people more positively. When you can do this you life does begin to qualitatively change for the better. When YOU train your mind you are deliberately taking control of your thoughts, your feelings and responses to outer circumstances. This is a powerful way to live and it may seem a bit foreign at first, it may even seem difficult. IT isn’t once you get the hang of it but you have to stay with it deliberately in order to discover the awesome benefits.

There are many different ways you can live more positively and powerfully.  You can practice affirmations, express gratitude for everything in your life, both the good and not so good (look for the silver lining). Read this blog, keep inspirational materials around you. These include inspiring quotes, photos, music, religious or otherwise. Read at least a page daily from motivational uplifting books. Listen to positive audios, watch positive videos. Help someone who has a need. Give. Walk more, sing, hum, exercise, get a massage, meditate, take time to relax and reflect positively on your day. Gift yourself from time to time. Get out in nature where you may feel inspired. Let go, unwind, enjoy life!

The most important aspect to changing your life is to fill your time with more positive moments than negative. This begins with your thoughts and feelings. What are positive moments but moments when you think and feel wonderful. When you are feeling good! You may be amused, happy, blissful the point is you are feeling great! Whether it is true or not classify emotions into two categories Good and Not Good or bad. You know you don’t want to feel bad and you know all the different emotional labels for not feeling good. SO make it a point to manage your feelings. Think the thoughts and do those things that help you feel the best without harming or affecting others in negative way. This is all about you.

Rule of thumb you are either feeling good or not good. THE GOAL is to feel good. So whenever you are not feeling good do something, think better thoughts, walk, exercise, sing, hum, read, listen, do something healthy and positive to help yourself feel even just a little bit better. Every time you catch yourself not feeling good and you make yourself feel better you are training yourself, your neurology to move from feeling less than glorious to glorious.You don’t have to make a giant leap from depressed to bliss you just have to make yourself feel a little bit better. Once you feel a little bit better do something to feel a bit better again.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Once you being it is each step thereafter that gets you closer to your goal. Incrementally you will work yourself toward feeling good. When you keep doing this, anytime you become aware of not feeling good, you are building an incredible ability to move into good feelings and you are building a powerful reliable habit. Good or bad it is your choice. If it isn’t what you want YOU change it.

In order to make it a lifestyle filled with positive habits you must keep doing these. Correct repetition brings about reliable results. So stick with it. Have fun and enjoy the process. Take it lightly and little bit by little bit you will notice things begin to shift. Be patient and enjoy the process. It will one day seem remarkable that you did not always already do these things and doing each will bring you so much pleasure and joy. SO hang in there and make your life incredible. Why You Are Stuck and How To Get Free!

“Time to reflect on some common sense knowledge. This is something we all already know BUT we need to understand it and how to apply it.

IF you water  plants they grow. IF you cut off their supply to water they wither and die. IFyou give them sunshine they can grow and thrive. IF you cut off their supply they wither and die.

Whatever you nurture grows. If you plant flowers or weeds, food or poison whatever you plant as long as it has food and sunlight it will grow. If you remove the food and sunlight whatever you planted will wither and die. It does not matter what it is. It will die.

When you fight the negative, when you resist it, worry about it, are depressed about it, whenever you think about it you are giving it your attention and energy. You are watering it and feeding it. You are helping it to grow. That is precisely why you keep getting what you don’t want. When you cut of its supply it will wither and die.

we are our choices

You need to withdraw the attention from the less than glorious circumstances. You need to cut off the life giving force from the negative, remove the food, water and sunshine and place your focus on what you do want.

Ignore the bad and focus on the good. Concentrate on the positive. Water, feed it and nurture the positive. You  get whatever you focus on. Energy flows where attention goes.

Whenever you notice you attention on the less than glorious, whenever you notice yourself  thinking or feeling less than glorious thoughts and feelings, gently remove your attention. Withdraw it.

Don’t get upset, angry or sad about it, don’t criticize or chastise yourself, just notice it and shift your thoughts and feelings toward something more positive. Move from the negative into neutral, a place where it doesn’t matter, and from there into more positive thoughts and feelings. You can learn to do this deliberately.

Take the energy away from the less than glorious and put it toward the positive. When you do this repeatedly you build the habit of moving from the negative to the positive easily and effortlessly. You begin to spend time more naturally in the positive and when you do this you become what you focus on most of the time.

THEN, since most of the time you are positive, and the negative doesn’t bother you, you are free and open to create, make happen and attract what you do want. Your energy is devoted to creating the wonderful life you want to have.

think happy thoughts good things will happen

Think about it.  If your creative energy, thoughts, feelings and actions are devoted to getting what you want 60, 70, 80, 90 percent of the time what you would be capable of! Imagine that! Your focus, your energy, your being is devoted to all the good things you can make happen. WOW, wouldn’t that be wonderful and different?

WHEN you water and feed BOTH the positive and negative you get both as a result. If you predominantly water the negative and cut off the supply from the positive, you will get mostly negative. SO what are you getting mostly in your life?

If you want everything you can imagine and dream of then you need to change some things. Withdraw the energy from the ‘can’t do’, ‘can’t and won’t happen’ defeatist negative thinking. Withdraw the energy from the negative, worried, fearful, depressed, angry, hostile, bored thinking and put your energy in to the ‘can do’, ‘can have’ positive thoughts of love, joy, peace, happiness, health, wealth and well-being.

It is completely up to which you favor! You determine the results and the life you get! Only you can make it otherwise. The question is will you AND then WHEN will you? You can begin today, this very instant. It all begins the moment you truly decide!” Rex Sikes

My Life & Job Suck! So What Are You Doing To Change It?

“Okay, so how is it going?  Perhaps, your life isn’t going as well as you hoped it would by this time. Maybe you have relationship issues, money troubles, or your career isn’t where you want it to be. Maybe, you don’t like your job or  you don’t have the home or things you want yet.

Life is supposed to be great, right, yet it just isn’t as much fun as it should be. You feel stressed and there is never enough time in the day OR the year to make it better. You feel disappointed and you’d rather enjoy family, friends and life much more than you presently do.

So what are you doing to change it?

That it the question? WHAT are YOU doing to CHANGE IT?

I could stop right here because this is an important question for you to entertain if you presently aren’t pleased with your circumstances. I simply want to point out  that if you aren’t doing anything you are perpetuating the very thing you don’t want.

If you are fighting it, thinking about it, worrying about it, depressed about it, resisting it you are perpetuating it as much, maybe even more, as if you did nothing at all.

What you resist persists! IF you want your life to change you have to change some things in your life. Remember, the definition of insanity is to do the same thing again and again hoping for different results. You can’t hope yourself into something different while continuing to do the same things repeatedly.

You have to change some things that you are doing but you can take it easy, go step by step gently, and by doing some simple things you can begin to make some incredible headway into creating what you do want.

I recommend, whether this is your first visit to my blog, or one of many, to please go back through and re-read, re-visit what I have shared here. This is important. Expose and re-expose yourself to the concepts, principles and practices on different days. Do this repeatedly and you will discover great value and have remarkable insights.

Find other inspirational books and materials, and listen to positive audios daily. Fill your mind with positive, inspirational and motivational thoughts and ideas. This IS important.

Everything begins with thought. Our thinking is what matters most. It is where everything begins. Whether you feel your problems are within you, meaning you don’t think and feel right or whether you think they stem from others or are outside you – it is your thoughts about these where the issue really is. Your thinking determines whether you perpetuate the problem or discover the solution.

You want to begin by changing your thinking and feelings about yourself and your circumstances. YOU can absolutely do this! It is simple, it is easy, but it does require some discipline and you will want to absolutely stick with it. When you do you can make great strides quite quickly.

If you doubt what I am saying I suggest you try it for no less than 30 days. You can find some pretty amazing things happen within that time or shortly thereafter, if you will only do some simple things daily.

Make it a point to get up and read a page or more of inspirational material. You can use this blog or other books I have recommended. You can find great audios and put them on your phone or computer and listen in your car or while walking or sitting at home. ANYWHERE you can listen, LISTEN!

If you want to be happier, healthier and wealthier you need to change your thinking to make this happen. You can! You absolutely can get out of a rut and make your life the life you want.  It all begins with you and your thinking.

The simple principle to keep in mind is you become what you think about most of the time during the day. When you think positive powerful inspiring thoughts most of the time your life will begin to change for the better!

Look around you for everything you already do appreciate and feel grateful to have in your life. Place your attention of these. Celebrate and feel thankful more frequently. Then keep looking for those people, circumstances and things you have forgotten to feel grateful and good about and celebrate those too. Fill yourself with appreciation and you will make room for more to appreciate!

SMILE MORE! JUST smile! Put a smile on your lips and wear it thorough your day as much as possible. Research indicates when you lift your facial muscles into a smile it stimulates the very chemicals and neurons of well-being and you begin to feel better.

Consider this, when you ARE feeling good you smile – science tells us the reverse is true too. SMILE and you will begin to feel good. SO SMILE MORE for no reason at all JUST to practice smiling. PLUS, you look far more attractive when you are smiling. Laughter is great too!

Take the time for yourself. After all, it doesn’t take much time at all to read one page. It only takes a second or two to remember to think positive thoughts during the day and for you to look at things you appreciate often. The more positive moments throughout each day the more positive minutes you will have. The more minutes you have that you enjoy the more hours you get of good things and so on.

Go ahead and take at least one minute, anytime of the day or night and just close your eyes and imagine feeling wonderful. Think positive thoughts! Imagine your life as if it were already everything you wanted. See yourself and your life as if all your dreams had already come true. Look at it, feel it, listen to what you say and think about it when everything is as you want. Just enjoy it. Savor these moments!

Spend a minute concentrating, paying attention to how it good it feels. Say to yourself, ‘this or something better’. You can spare a minute to imagine, can’t you? AND YES, you can do it for a longer time too. Just do it!

Do these things upon arising in the morning, throughout the day and before going to bed. If you do these simple things often everyday you will find you begin to think and feel better and it will open up the doorways to new opportunities.

You absolutely can transform your experience and your life BUT nothing will change unless you change some things you are doing. SO if life isn’t as enjoyable as you had hoped or expected return to my original question:  what are YOU doing to change it?” Rex Sikes

Create – Don’t Wait! How To Make Your Dreams Come True

“Time for a thought experiment. Try this on in your imagination. What is something you really want? It could be anything. For example, if you got a brand new car right now as a gift how would you feel? If that makes you feel a certain wonderful way to get your dream car then use that. If it is oodles of cash or a new home, use that.  Whatever works easily and best for you that is what you use. It doesn’t matter what you choose as long as it is very significant and would make you feel really, REALLY good.

So take a moment. Sit back somewhere comfortably. Relax… Take a moment and really do this slowly, take your time, no need to rush:

Now imagine you just got it. You were gifted. It is yours. What would you be thinking and feeling? What are you seeing, hearing or saying to yourself? What are you feeling and where in your body does it feel the most wonderful?

Imagine this scenario fully and feel all the feelings you would be feeling. Notice these. Take your time. Savor the feelings, enjoy these. How do you feel? Are you feeling incredible?

I hope so. Because this is a key here to making your dreams come true. There is a principle operating here. I am going to point something out you may or may not already be aware of.

This is already ongoing with us. It occurs all the time in our daily lives. Good things happen and then we feel good and think about them and enjoy them. Then bad things happen we feel bad, and we think about them, worry about them and fear the future. Right?  Good or bad, usually something comes along, an event, circumstance, some news, a person does or doesn’t do something and we end up feeling a certain way. Things happen and then we react. We feel and think about these.

When we let the outer world dictate how we think and feel, whether good or bad, we are ‘at effect’ or we are a victim of our circumstances. We are not the master of our fate or the captain of our soul as long as events, circumstances and others determine how we think, feel and act. Do you understand this. We do not act as if we are in charge. We are not ‘at cause’ BUT at the effect of others or outside influences. The goal is to be ‘at cause’ because the results we get ARE the effects of what WE cause.

stop waiting and go out and make them happen

There is good news. We can learn to use, what we already do, to get better results. We can learn to use this deliberately to make what we want in life to come true. This is great news. We only have to tweak what we are doing we don’t have to overhaul everything. We use the same process but we aim it differently. It is so much easier than having to learn everything over.

How much we enjoy our life is determined how much time we spend either feeling good or bad. It is what we think and feel most of the time that determines what we get. If you feel marvelous 90 percent of the time things are going pretty well. If you are feeling poorly 90 percept of the time I bet it sucks and you want to change it. 50/50 seems tolerable but not desirable and certainly it does not reflect what we are capable of. We can enjoy so much more!

So IF in real life something happens to make you feel a certain way YOU can use these very same feeling to make what YOU want happen. Think about this! Consider this! Instead of feeling things AFTER we get them, we feel the way we would feel IF we already had them IN ADVANCE of having them. We get the feelings first and these open the doorway.

Like attracts like. When we feel bad usually we think bad thoughts and more bad things seem to happen. It is a vicious cycle. We live as a victim of that cycle hoping something comes along to break it and make things better. That is not living as someone in charge and in control. That is not being ‘at cause’.

When we feel good easily we feel marvelous and more good things happen. It too is a cycle. Yes, something less than glorious can come along, and if we let it, it can upset the apple cart for awhile. If we choose to think otherwise about it and not let it affect us we can do that. We can also right the apple cart as soon as we are ready and then get back on track. Either way we then move back into feeling good.

Like thoughts attracts Like thoughts. Like feelings attract like feelings. Like actions attract like actions. It doesn’t matter whether the thoughts or feelings or actions are positive or negative we get back more of whatever we do the most of. If you are getting negative results in your life that is a signal that you need to shift your focus, you need to change the energy. This is great news you can look at your life and determine what kind of thoughts you need to be thinking more of.

So I will repeat because this is important to understand. The key is this. If a very specific event can make you think and feel a certain way, then thinking and feeling that same way, in advance, will open the door to make that specific event happen in your life. You put your thoughts and feelings and creative energy into bringing it about. You attract the thoughts, and feelings and actions to make it happen. You inspire yourself by feeling it fully FIRST! No waiting,

our thoughts are like magnets

The problem is most people wait to feel good. They wait for the outer circumstances to change before they feel better. The key is feel better FIRST and then the outer circumstances will change.

YES it is true MOST of ALL of US were NEVER EVER raised thinking this way. BUT just because we didn’t grow up doing it doesn’t mean we can’t start doing it right away. Now, this very moment, IS THE MOMENT of new opportunity!

Feel good right now and the doors open up. Thought precedes action. Everything begins with the thoughts you think. What you think and what you feel determines the actions you take. The quality of your overall life experience is determined by the preponderance of your thoughts and feelings.

Do you spend most of your time thinking and feeling good strong positive wonderful thoughts or not. YOU determine your experience. If you want a wonderful life you have to spend the bulk of your time thinking wonderful thoughts. THIS is just the way it works.

When you take 100% responsibility for everything good and bad in your life the moment you do, THE MOMENT YOU ACCEPT COMPLETE AND UTTER RESPONSIBILITY FOR EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE – YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE!

You become ‘at cause’, you take the driver’s seat, you take control and you create the effects and make happen whatever want to happen. You want to get better effects, better results you have to start with better causes.

There is good news again! The fact of the matter is YOU ALREADY are doing this. You just aren’t getting the results you want because you think SOMEONE ELSE or SOMETHING ELSE is responsible. NO ONE ELSE IS RESPONSIBLE BUT YOU!!!

your only limits

When you get this, really get this, your life will improve. It doesn’t matter whatever you have good or bad, up until now, it truly doesn’t matter! It doesn’t matter what your life has been like.

If you decide NOW to live in charge, to be responsible then you will begin to shape your life the way you want it to be regardless of what may come your way or what has been. You will go after what you want and navigate the waters smooth or tough. You will make it happen because it relies on no one and nothing else but you.

When you take ALL responsibility for everything that happens or that you have or don’t it gives you the starting place to make things different. It allows you to claim power and act with authority. Instead of blaming others or making excuses for why things are the way they are you make things the way you want them to be. DO you get this? When everything answers to you (whether this is actually the case of not) you become the difference that makes the difference.

Consider a judge in a courtroom. The judge (empowered by law) determines and declares how things will be and how they will go because the judge is the ultimate authority in the courtroom. Everyone in the courtroom answers to the judge. No one else can do what the judge is able to do. When you become the empowered authority for your own life you can determine the course your life will take. You can stop drifting and living haphazardly. You can get better results.

Realize that this thought experiment becomes so much more significant for you to understand and embrace.

Think of what it is you desire. How you want your self to be, what you want to be able to do or what you wish to have. It could be health, wealth, possessions, it could be greater confidence, better relationships anything. Clearly define what you want. Imagine it, picture it vividly in your mind’s eye.

IF you had that RIGHT now, in this instant, if you already had your desire, it is completely yours, how do you feel?

What would you be feeling? Imagine this and then FEEL these feelings right now, fully, while thinking of your desire. Hold the images and feelings for a couple minutes. Really enjoy this! Imagine you have what you want in this present moment! Savor it.

when you change the way you look at things

I repeat!!! The key is this. If a very specific event can make you think and feel a certain way, then thinking and feeling that same way in advance will open the door to make that specific event happen in your life. You attract more of the feeling, the wonderful feelings, you feel how good it is, you open your own neural pathways, your neurology, your being up to including all of this in your life. You aren’t waiting you are CREATING!!!

This is the secret to manifesting your desires. Before going to sleep is a great time to do this. You can drift off to sleep FEELING the WONDERFUL FEELINGS you WOULD have IF you HAD your desire RIGHT NOW. Morning is a great time, when you get up. Repeat it throughout the day. Make it a habit it. DO it often. Feel wonderful FIRST!!! The more you do it the more your life will transform and quickly!

It will seem like magic when you GO FIRST, but it isn’t magical at all. You will be making what you want happen. You will be organizing and orchestrating your thoughts, feelings and actions for the positive. You will be stronger, happier, and enjoy more. You are better equipped to handle challenges and better able to recognize opportunities. Instead of chasing after dreams you are inviting them to come to you. You open the door to making things happen by feeling good first.

Just as when you plant a seed it takes time to grow in the darkness underground. You let it grow. You don’t dig it up to check on it. You leave it alone and in time it appears. This is the very same process you use to create, manifest, make happen, attract what you want. You feel it first and open the door. You keep enjoying and allowing the wonderful feelings, you stay focus on these great feelings, no matter what else is going on or not going on in your life circumstances.

You keep your attention and energy on the good feelings. You have planted a seed it is growing. In time you will have organized your being in such a way as to bring it about. You will have it in reality as long as you stay the course and do not quit. The key is good thoughts and feelings FIRST. ENJOY them. Enjoy everything! Be responsible for everything you create and you will start creating wonderful things for yourself.” Rex Sikes
