Your Attitude Is Critical To Your Success And Happiness: Now Learn To Make It Work For You!

“Do you need more success in your career?  Want a happier life? Make more money? Have more fun? Fulfill your dreams? You can! You can learn how to make all these and much more possible.

Neville Goddard said, “Man is only hampered by the weakness of attention and the poverty of imagination. The secret, the great secret, is a controlled and well sustained attention firmly focused on the objective to be accomplished.” I love Goddard.

Some people do not realize the importance of cultivating and maintaining a positive mental attitude. It has been proven beneficial for your health. You body produces different chemicals depending on what you think; peaceful, supercharged, loving, angry an so on.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

Goddard points out that that it is critical to develop a positive mental attitude to control your attention and enrich your imagination to get your goals. You need to learn to control all of your thoughts you and feelings. You need to be in charge.

You need to develop your creativity and your imagination. Put your mind to work generating ideas and seeking new opportunities. As a result you  develop intuitions about what you need to do in order to move forward. Your mind supplies you with ideas and plans.

Energy flows where your attention goes. Most of us suffer from being distracted. Especially in this day and age. We have given in to the myriad of distractions that bombard us. Our attention spans whittled away by fast editing, change of topics, pop-ups and the like.

To Hit Your Target You Must Look At It

Why do I say suffer? Because we are distracted. We don’t harness our powers. We aren’t able to focus our energies because our minds are preoccupied with petty things. We are too busy with TV, social media, and the endless distracting bombardments each day. Each and every second!

We need to  take back control and develop our incredible ability to concentrate and aim our attention so we can focus that energy where we want it. Remember, ‘The great secret, is a controlled and well sustained attention firmly focused on the objective to be accomplished.’ United we stand, divided we fall applies to one, too!

By the force of your attention you firmly and repeatedly focus on the objective to be accomplished. You focus and make it happen. If you can’t focus , if you can’t keep your attention on your objective, you aren’t likely to make it happen. Get it? You mind is wishy washy.

You Must Keep Your Eye On The Ball

You must be able to see it clearly and vividly as if already achieved. You must be able to keep your attention there. Then your creative  imagination provides you with the plan for how you ‘did’ that and you take action. You move forward working the plans.

You focus, repeatedly, all of your energies on your goal until you complete it. Without this focus you mind is adrift. The people who are able to concentrate their energies and their efforts tend to be way more successful than those who are not. It is true!

Aim at what you want. Think positively and believe it is possible. A positive mental attitude helps you focus and accomplish your goals.  It moves your energies in the appropriate fashion so you achieve your chief aim. Negative energy and thinking does not do this.

A House Divided Will Never Stand

Negative thinking, while powerful, is destructive, in most all cases. You want to remain positive and learn to control your thinking process. You want to be able to choose what and how to think. You want to be in control of your mind. So, how do you learn to do this?

When you cultivate a positive attitude you have to become aware of and chose the most productive thoughts. You keep thinking those and eliminate all others. You force yourself to pay attention to what is positive and productive and exclude the rest. You are planting and weeding.

You do it to develop the habit. Just as you build any muscle you work your ability to focus. You think the thoughts, keep your mind there, when you notice yourself straying you return to thinking the positive thoughts. You keep doing this until you can regularly do this! It is a conditioning process. You must work it consistently.

Unite Your Energy And Your Efforts

By working out your mind this way you learn how to control your thoughts. You take control. You are in charge. You learn how to keep your attention strong on the positive thoughts which move you forward. Don’t get sidetracked with negativity or distractions. Learn how to control your thinking especially when times get difficult.

Most anyone can think positive thoughts when happy. That is easy. It is when faced with challenges that it is critical to maintain your positive attitude so you don’t quit. So you persist! You keep your attitude positive and see it through. You train your mind to be your servant.

That is how it is supposed to be, yet, most people are servants or victims of their own minds. They can’t control their thoughts. They habitually think the worst. They struggle but just can’t move it forward . That is just wrong! The whine, complain, blame everything but accomplish little. Sad, in the same way couch potatoes are sad.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Take You

You must exercise you will and your abilities if you want success and more. You develop them by consistent, productive exercise. Not everyone exercises their body. Fewer exercise their minds. Even fewer do both. Don’t be one of these. Choose to make a real difference for yourself. Put yourself in charge. Make it happen!

When the going gets tough the tough get going. Learn how to control your mind. Determine to take charge of what you think. Develop your concentration, your attention and your imagination. Develop you ability to think positive, powerful thoughts that help you to feel good and take appropriate action. Make your dreams come true.” Rex Sikes

Your Health Is Affected By PMA! What Is It? Why You Need It

“PMA? What does it mean to have PMA? Some people just do not understand. Do you really know what it is? Do you know how it affects you? You may not. Most people don’t. A lot are unaware. Many are mistaken.

A number of people think it means unrealistic magical, wishful thinking. Someone even wrote a book calling it unrealistic thinking. So why do we need a Positive Mental Attitude? Does it make a difference? Does it  matter?

It isn’t unrealistic at all if you know what it is. If you actually have a PMA and use it you couldn’t and wouldn’t write a book like that. You’d understand the difference between pie in the sky thinking an a PMA based on accurate evidence or fact and good reasoning.

If You Change The Way You Look At Things

That author mistakes PMA with wishful, magical, fanciful thinking. That author’s premise is that if you wish for something and then don’t get it you may feel worse off than had you  not wished at all. Perhaps. That has absolutely nothing to do with positive thinking.

Positive thinking is about action. You don’t sit and wish and hope. You put on your best ‘I can do it’ attitude and you work to make it happen. Yes, you may not succeed but you will have gotten further than if you sat in your room and hoped for it. Yes, it matters!

Positive thinking is about determination and overcoming obstacles. It eliminates negative thinking, downer thinking, depressed thinking, hopeless thinking, problem thinking in favor of positive, powerful, solution focused thought. It is about making things happen!

The Things You Look At Change

I enjoy this definition by Napoleon Hill, ‘It is a confident, constructive, sure, practical and forward moving disposition of the mind over and against any given circumstances. As we use the expression in this study a Positive Mental Attitude is the right mental attitude in any given situation.

It is composed of positive characteristics symbolized by such words as faith, integrity, hope, optimism, courage, initiative, generosity, tolerance, tact, kindness and good common sense.’

He further states,’To understand the importance of a Positive Mental Attitude in your life, consider the fact that it affects the tone of your voice, the expression of your face, the posture of your body, every thought you think, every word you speak.’

You Do Everything Better Thinking Positive Than Negative

‘It determines the nature of every emotion you feel. Everyone and everything that comes within the range of your personality is affected by your mental attitude.’

On top of this he states it is the most important component in developing, having or maintaining a pleasing personality.  From these statements you can begin to understand the importance of maintaining a positive mental attitude.

All of us can tell the difference between an energy vampire, a downer who sucks the life out of a room merely by entering it and one who uplifts and delights and supercharges the atmosphere simply by entering there too. We know the difference.

Every Day May Not Be Good But There Is Good In Every Day

While maintaining a positive mental attitude does not absolutely guarantee success in all circumstances we know a negative one likely insures failure. If you don’t think it will work you aren’t going to bother. If you don’t bother you don’t act, hence nothing changes.

By their fruits they are known. Some people say ‘by their works’. People can tell whether you are a positive, uplifting Paula or a Debbie Downer just by your presence. One type accomplishes things regardless of difficulty the other does not.

Thoughts generate attitude and attitude generates thought. It is a cycle. Negative thoughts generate negative. Positive generate more positive. Thoughts ARE things. Thoughts are powerful. You can’t escape the repercussions of your thoughts.

You Are Pretty Awesome Keep It Up

Thoughts affect every part of your physical being. They cause your body to react chemically from healthy to unhealthy. They can make you feel good and comfortable or anxious and afraid. You can feel like charging up a mountain, like making love, feeling peaceful or like fighting or fleeing. Thoughts affect your mental and physical health.

Angry thoughts can make your nostrils flare,  your face turn red, your teeth to clench, your heart and blood pressure rates to change. Science knows our thoughts affect us. A PMA is healthier than a negative one. Negative thoughts produce negative outcomes.

A PMA thinks, speaks and acts only to bless, heal and prosper oneself and others. A negative attitude whines, blames self, others and the world. The PMA is a healthier choice. It can make the difference in healing. If you don’t have one you can develop one.

Delight yourself and others! It is worth it! Cultivate a Can Do personality. Shine from the inside out. You’ll make more friends, achieve your dreams and have more fun with a pleasing personality and a positive mental attitude! Enjoy!” Rex Sikes

Well, What Did You Expect? What Is The Basis Of Your Pain?

“Hey, sorry the blog is late! Actually, no it isn’t. It is right on time. I wanted to do something a bit different today to try to illustrate something in a small way. A very small way, perhaps.

What did you expect? Did you expect it to be there in your mail box at the usual time? When it wasn’t then what? Maybe, no big deal. It doesn’t matter, you may not have even noticed. BUT what if you did?

Our expectations shape our world. It is an inner phenomenon more than an outer world one. It is in the category of believing is seeing. We are creatures of habit.

What You Say Is What You Get

We tend to like things the same. We get used to it. We expect there to be a consistency in others and events. We want it. This is quite normal. All part of being human.

So regarding this blog. If you are fairly new to receiving it you may not have time to have developed any expectation of delivery. On the other, had you already received the 500 plus, then you may have.

You may not care about the blog. It is nice but not necessary. It doesn’t have high signal value. That is fine. What about things that do? What about the people in our life?

What You See Is What You Get

What happens inside us? What do we see or visualize in our mind when a loved one is uncharacteristically late? Do you have a change in self-talk as well? What do you begin to say to yourself?

Is it positive or negative? We either feel good or not so good based on what we expect, or imagine to be the case. In the loved one example, if they show up, but late, we may be relieved.

We may be relieved and angry. They could be surprised by our reaction saying ‘RELAX!!!’ The point is something changed in us because we got used to things being a certain way.

You Already Affirm Your Experience – Good Or Bad

When they aren’t as we are used to extra activity begins inside us. We believe things about ourself, others, events and the world. We tend to see things not as they are but as we imagine.

Something changes out of the ordinary, what happens within? How do we react? Do we react out of habit? Do we find ourselves traveling chronic old ways of behavior and self talk. Well?

This blog thing is a tiny, insignificant, example. Whether you noticed it being late or not, perhaps, you will consider and evaluate how ‘things’ or ‘circumstances’ affect you. Think about it? Take time.

You Thoughts, You, Shape Your Results And Your Reality

What expectations do you live from? Yes, we expect sunrise, start there. What do you expect to happen each day? What do you expect of yourself? Loved ones? Friends? Strangers? The barista?

See if you can discover how sometimes you create your own pain because of your expectations? Sometimes, you create your own joy? Explore. Discover? Expectations is another word for beliefs?

What do you believe should be the case? What are your rules? How should things be? When, where and according to whom? Who says it should be any way? You, THEM, who decides?

Exploration Is The Doorway To Adventure

Do you think this is a worthwhile exercise? Why? Why not? Will you do it? Who knows, you may notice or learn something you were not aware of. Then what? Will that be good or not so good?

Just Because You Can’t See The Miracles Doesn’t Mean They Aren’t Happening

“Do you want to succeed in your career? Do you need more money?Want to lead a better life? Maybe, you are looking to fall in love? You tried the Law Of Attraction but it doesn’t seem to work. Right?

Has this happened to you? You read the Secret, saw The Secret but you just don’t seem to get the results promised. Hang in there it does work, but not as you probably think it does.

It isn’t magic. It doesn’t happen over night. It is a conditioning process, a lifestyle. It isn’t a light switch you flip and voila’. It is a process! It requires you learn it and use it to master it.

If You Always Say What You Have

You get results from regular consistent exercise. You get results from intentional thinking and deliberate creation when you are consistent and persistent. It absolutely works if you do.

If you have identified what you want to create and focused your thoughts and feelings on making it happen then it is happening. Believe it even if it doesn’t seem like anything is happening yet.

Circumstances around you may be dire, they may not be what you want. Do not give up. Do not succumb to doubt, worry or fear. Do not undo what is going on by what you think and say.

You Will Always Have What You Say

If you put your energy and focus onto the circumstances you don’t like or want, and think on those and talk about those THAT is what you will create more of! STOP! Don’t! That is what most people do.

That is how you undo the good you have coming your way. You must be consistent. You must be mostly positive, mostly feeling wonderful, mostly focused on the invisible MOST OF THE TIME!

Get it? Declare good things are coming. You are not, yet, able to see the goodness on its way. Seeds grow in darkness. The roots grow underground. There is no evidence anything is happening BUT it is!

What You Say Is What You Get

It is happening! Stay with it. Believe it. Trust. Have faith. Act as if that good you desire IS already yours. Be grateful, celebrate and keep showing up. Maintain a positive attitude. Affirm it! Say it!

You have no idea how or when the miracles will break through. If you maintain your attitude and keep moving forward the day will come. What you want now will be yours one day. Affirm it!

The day will come sooner the more you eagerly anticipate the new day coming. In spite of circumstances around you not confirming it. Goodness is coming your way if you planted and nourish the seeds.

What You Think And Believe Determines What You Find And See

Our brain looks for an outer match with what we have going on inside. If you don’t like the outer reality you need to make the inner nicer. We don’t see all there is but what your brain filters for you.

What we see is NOT the reality. It is OUR perception of reality. Our real reality comes from within. We make the circumstances. Keep your mind on what you want. Declare it! Believe it! Stay with it!

Keep your mind off what you don’t want. Believe in what you can’t yet see. Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. It is happening! Accept that it IS happening.

Whatever Follows I Am or I Have Is Your Declaration

Only after the miracles manifest will you be able to look back and see how the dots connect. Hindsight is 20/20. Keep your attitude up and feel good about the new day coming. This is HOW it works!

You don’t need to know how it will happen. That isn’t up to you. You only need to know what you want. Describe it and define it and focus on it and exclude all else. Imagine it has already happened.

Be grateful. Celebrate and live in delight. Expect the best and know good is around the corner. Keep the faith. Maintain a positive attitude and enjoy all things. Know that life is good and it will be.

Only Declare What You Positively Want

It works this way. From within to without. It begins as an idea then it becomes the outer reality. You make it happen. You create it. You attract it. You do it. Thoughts become things. Keep at it! Keep at it!

What you think about you bring about. You can absolutely be, do and have anything you want when you apply the principles consistently. You must stick with it UNTIL you have it. Get it?

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS! You stick with it until you get it! You pay the price. It doesn’t come for free. You will have it if you really must have it. Your desire will make it so. Your desire should increase.

Positive Or Negative You Make It So

When you go to the store you pay the cashier before you take the item home. You plant the seed before you harvest. You MUST pay for it before you get it. The payment is your desire and faith.

You should increase your desire over time. The time it takes is for you to grow your desire to make it happen. Most people decrease desire, give up and try something else SO THEY NEVER KNOW!

This is why you want to keep your thoughts focused on what you want. Control your mind. Stay focused and do not give up. Let nothing distract and your day will arrive. Celebrate that day NOW!” Rex Sikes

Be A Deliberate Creator And Get What You Want From Your Career And Life!

“Why should you clarify your goals? Is it helpful to define your purpose? Is writing these down important? What does knowing what you want, specifically, do for you? What good does writing it down do? Is it important to plan? I get asked these questions a lot through the years.

Knowing what you specifically want enables you to make a detailed, precise mental image of what you are going for. It isn’t vague. It is specific. You fill it with detail. For example, if you wanted a new car, it is best to specify the exact make and model of the car.

How many doors, the color inside and out, the roof, the glass, the type of wheels and hubs. Every element of the car. Heated seats? If you are a car fan then your probably know all the specifics. That is great because you can see it more clearly.

Imagine driving in it. See your hands on the wheel, feel your grip  on the wheel. Feel the comfort of the seats. Notice the power and the drive. Imagine it fully. The more you are able to do that the more  you are on your way to getting it. Remember, you make it happen!

What You See And Say And Feel Is What You Get

Know exactly what you want. Know when you want it. How will you get it? You may not know this yet, but think about it. Dream about it. Come up with a plan. As you fantasize about getting the car of your dreams you mind will deliver to you a plan in whole or in part.

Listen, watch for it. Pay attention to your ideas and hunches. Keep notebook handy. What will you do in exchange for getting the car? How will you earn the money? Plan to get it and then you work the plan. Write it down. It helps your visualizations.

The more specific you are the more you activate those areas in your brain. Set a deadline when you want to have it. Between now and the deadline imagine what it is like to already own the car. See yourself driving it. Feel yourself driving it. Park it see yourself get out and into it.

Feel It Fully – Appreciate and Be Thankful

It is yours. How good does it feel? Feel it fully. What things do you say to yourself about your car? Did you name it? All the little things make a big difference. The more detail you imagine the more real it is to you. The more real it is in your mind the quicker you can make it happen.

Obsess about it! Enjoy it! Celebrate it. Be thankful for the car right now, that someday you will have. Celebrate and appreciate having it before you actually do in the outer world. Gratitude is so important. Feeling thankful for what you want, sends that message to the subconscious that this is important to me. You are feeling it!

Define your life purpose. Establish goals and benchmarks along the way. Have your long term important chief purpose and set goals you pick up along the way. 3 month goals, 6 month, 1 year, 3, 5 10 year goals. Whatever best works for you. Set daily and weekly goals. It work wonders. Get into the habit of thinking with intention.

Decide, ‘I will get these things done today.  I’ll finish these by the end of the week.’ Then work them off your list. Build good habits. Develop personal credibility with yourself. Never break a promise you make to anyone, especially your vows to you. Once you decide on what you intend to do follow through on it.

Always Do What You Say You Will – Follow Through

Hill stated in ‘A Year Of Growing Rich’, ‘The person who acts with purpose and a plan attracts opportunities. How can life give you anything if you don’t know what you want yourself?

How can others help you to succeed if you haven’t decided how to get there yourself? Only with definiteness of purpose will you be able to overcome the defeats and adversities that will stand in your way.’

Clarify what you want specifically. Write it down. Review it multiple times a day. Feel enthused, feel great feelings, as you review to provide your subconscious a clear example of what to marshall your resources around. If you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it.

Make a practice of setting goals and getting them. You can start small if you wish then work your way up to medium and large.  Be specific and allow for something better. It is always wise to think, ‘This is what I want OR something better.’ Never demand how you make it happen.

Allow For Creativity And Spontaneity

Build you success history of accomplishment to look back on! Keep your word so that you are credible to yourself and others. Always follow through and make things happen. Be a CAN DO, intentional creator. Create what you want or something better.  Remember it is always up to you and no one else. YOU CAN be, do and have anything you desire. Why not dream big! Go for the gusto! ” Rex Sikes

The Secret To Wealth: What A Surgeon Learned From A Poor Coal Miner

“Wouldn’t you like to believe you can succeed no matter what and then actually succeed? Don’t you want to believe you deserve of all good things and riches? What if you could develop a powerful, unstoppable mindset, would that be worth it to you?

Your beliefs determine whether you will succeed or fail. You will only go so far as the limitation of your own thinking. You won’t do what you don’t believe is possible for you to do. Whatever you believe determines the results you get in the world.

I have shared principles and approaches so you can work with your beliefs. Go back through this blog site re-read and study these articles. Learn to uncover and challenge your own beliefs when they limit you and you will have learned something of great value.

Our beliefs form the framework, the window, that we look at the world from. It is important we develop powerful and positive beliefs to see us through any hardship on the way to accomplish our goals. Wouldn’t you like to have your beliefs support you?

Author, researcher, lecturer Joseph Murphy related a wonderful and powerful story which I paraphrase here. I love this story. Perhaps, you will too.  We can learn much about ourselves from others experiences. This biographical tale was told to him by  an Irish surgeon, the son of a poor coal miner.

A Surgeon’s Tale

As the story goes, the miner and his family were very poor. Barely able to make ends meet, fruit and meat appeared on their dinner table twice a year for the holidays.

Mostly, they existed on potatoes, tea and buttermilk. The young son went to school barefoot because they could not afford to buy him shoes.

One day the boy announced to his father that he wanted to become a surgeon, because one of his schoolmates had cataracts removed and he, too, wanted to help people, as his classmate had been helped.

His father spoke these words. ‘Son I have saved and put aside 3000 pounds over 25 years for your education. It is yours but I prefer you do not touch it until you complete medical school. Then use it to open a nice office in a good section of town.

Meanwhile, it will draw interest, and upon your graduation it will make a nice egg for you. Leave it in the bank and let it accumulate.’ The young boy was thrilled.

He never expected such a wonderful gift. He promised to never touch the money until he graduated from medical school. He worked and scrimped. He  made his way through medical school on his own. He worked in a pharmacy in the evening.

He worked holidays. He earned money teaching classes in pharmacology and chemistry at the medical college. His goal was to live up to the vow he made his father that he would never touch the waiting money.

On his graduation day his father told him, ‘Son, I’ve been a poor miner all my life. I have gotten nowhere but you, I am so proud of you. You have put yourself through college and have graduated. I must tell you something.

There is not one shilling, nor one penny saved for you in a bank. There never was. I wanted you to dig deep inside yourself and discover the treasures there within. These treasures are limitless, inexhaustible and eternal.’

The surgeon told Murphy, his mind was blown for a moment. He was dumbfounded and unable to speak. It took a few moments to recover but then both, he and his father, had a hearty belly laugh. He got it. He understood what his father wanted him to learn on his own.

The father wanted his son to develop and appreciate the feeling wealth made possible by the thought that he had lot money in the bank to back him up, if needed. His father understood the value of a healthy mindset.

Because he believed he had that money, he told Murphy, this gave him the courage, the faith and the confidence to accomplish his dream of becoming a surgeon. He pushed ahead. He worked hard to make it happen and to keep his promise.

He said his belief in the money being there had accomplished this purpose just as well as if it had actually been deposited by his father. His belief saw him through to the end. He told Murphy that everything he accomplished was a symbol of his conviction, faith, commitment and vision.

‘For everyman in the world, the secret of success, achievement and fulfillment of his goal in life lies in the discovery of the miraculous power of thought and feeling. Our surgeon friend, ACTED CONFIDENTLY, just as if the money had always been there!’ Joseph Murphy.  From his book, Your Infinite Power To Be Rich.

Attitude Determines Your Altitude

I love this story! Don’t you? Celebrate and enjoy! How might you begin to develop positive beliefs that serve you in like fashion? Beliefs are thoughts we think over and over again and ultimately accept as if true. They may not be true at all, as in this case.

What can you do to believe the best about you? As I have stated many times, if you don’t like the TV show you are watching you change the channel to something better. The same is true of your thoughts. Make your thoughts and feelings work for you!

Switch negative limiting beliefs and feelings to positive, productive, enjoyable thoughts and feelings. Change the focus of your thinking. Withdraw your energy from the less than glorious and put your energy, focus and concentration on what you want instead.

If you knew you would succeed, no matter what, if you worked at it, would you try? Would you try harder? If you knew you couldn’t fail would this help propel you? If not this, what would? What beliefs do you need to have in place in order to accomplish everything you want?

You can develop those and believe them! Put autosuggestion and affirmations to work for you. Develop the very beliefs you need. Many times, I have shared with you how you can put this practice to work for you. The question is, will you?” Rex Sikes

Your Beliefs About Money Matter!

“Do you deserve to be rich? Do you struggle to make ends meet?What do you think and believe about money? Is the love of money the root of all evil? How much are you entitled to? How come few others have lots of it while most others have little? What is it about money?

Only one person left a comment here when I made the tithing post.  I received numerous other comments from people in other areas on social media and by email. That tithing post created a little heat. People felt compelled to tell me their ideas on where and with whom to tithe and why.  A few did not want the churches to get the money.

Money is an area ripe for exploration. We all have so many beliefs, rules and regulations around it. Some people don’t think they are worthy of having lots of money. Others think money is evil. Others think of money as a tool for more comfortable living. Others fight to get even a little bit of it. Do you know how much money there is????

There Is Always More Than Enough For Everyone

TONS of it. Trillions and trillions of dollars are circulating each moment. Some love money, perhaps, a bit too much while others understand abhor it. They want it, need it but they abhor it. There is a lot of baggage around this form of exchange. Money. Hmmmmm

That is why I felt the subject of tithing was a good call to post. We have issues surrounding money. We have issues about how it is spent, saved, received, and given away. All sorts of beliefs about what is right. I knew the topic would get the pot stirred.

Whenever I point out that something is a belief, I am not suggesting it is wrong. Not in the least. I am suggesting it is a firmly held idea that you may have had for a long time. You may not know how or why you came to believe it.

I Can Learn To Do Anything Easily If I Will Attempt To

You might want to examine why you hold the belief. Many of our beliefs are borrowed from those around us while growing up. We don’t know why or when we developed them. Some we do, most we probably don’t.

Sometimes, we are aware of the conclusions we drew because of extreme circumstances or events. Something unforgettable happened and at that moment we formed a new belief or we strengthened an already existing one.

Beliefs are chronic, habitual ways of thinking. They are simply thoughts we think again and again. Typically, we have a cluster of beliefs around a topic. Open up one and more come out. They are tied to our values and what we ‘believe’ is important.

What I Want To Do With Ease I First Have To Do With Diligence

When asked, ‘what is important about love’ or what’s important about a relationship? or a career, of your finances, or parenting or life, beliefs pop up. Rules for being and doing come up. Some we hold to firmly while others we may be more flexible or relaxed about.

When I say ‘THAT is a belief’,  I hope is that the reader will take it as an invitation to look at it. It could be accurate or valid to hold. Still, look at it. Examine it. Is it truly yours? Did you come to this conclusion on you own? If so, how? Based on, what?

Is this conclusion applicable in the current situation or mostly applicable to the original situation? How does having this belief serve you? What does it do? How does it limit you? If you could believe something else what would that be?

It Is Completely Up To Me Whether I Can Or Whether I Can’t

Why don’t you believe something else instead of this? Have you ever wondered that? Why don’t you believe something else? There are so many questions one could ask. Reflection and examination are useful. We should make up our own minds instead of having them made up for us. Don’t you think?

I phrased that as a possible belief. Did you catch that? You see, you can try on beliefs, similarly to how you try on clothes. You can put them on and off, metaphorically, to determine whether they fit or not.

Do you need to update?  Are there some beliefs you want to exchange for better beliefs? You might? You might not need to. You might want to.  Anything is possible. The Red Queen in Alice Through The Looking Glass stated, ‘Why I believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast.’ Perhaps, you’d like to, too.

I Am Responsible For What I Do And Do Not Have

Through honest exploration you can discover more of your talents and resources. You can uncover and begin to process or eliminate any of those that hold you back and begin to heal.

The choice is yours. Unless, you don’t believe you have choice. Then you aren’t likely to take it or make it.

Someone may or may not be able to prove to you or convince you otherwise. It depends on your beliefs. If you don’t believe you have choice, I would say you are correct, you don’t. If you can’t conceive of a reality you can behave in that reality.

Hill said, Anything you can conceive and believe you can achieve. That is powerful. If you can imagine it and believe it you can make it happen. If you don’t believe that is possible then it is impossible.

I Am Accountable For What I Do And Do Not Have

If you believe others may be capable or entitled, but not you, then for others,, it is true but for you, it is not. Beliefs determine how we interact with the world, circumstances and others. They determine how we hold ourself in esteem.

Taken altogether they establish our attitude or mindset. We believe the world is either a friendly or a hostile place. We either can do something or we can’t. Others can do it or we can. Maybe everyone can or some can’t.

Beliefs determine the who, the what, the where, the when, the why and the how in life. They determine whether we mean everyone or only a few. Whether we mean for now only or for all of time. Beliefs shape our reality. According to science, it is more accurate to say, believing is seeing than it is the other way around.

The Mind Is Only As Strong As Its Weakest Think

Okay, we haven’t discussed money beliefs but we will. We started back at beliefs. You might want to pick a topic, as I did above. Something important to you. Begin to write down every belief you have, pro and con, about it.

Write your thoughts and your opinions. Some will stop after a few some might write all day. Do the exercise, it might surprise you. Pick money, for example. How many beliefs do you have about money. Go find out!” Rex Sikes

Do You Have What It Takes To Succeed Big?

“People who acquire the ability to take full possession of their mind may take possession of everything else to which they are justly entitled.” said Napoleon Hill.

Hill studied over 500 of the most successful and richest people worldwide of his day, given entry from Andrew Carnegie who commissioned him to make the study.

From the study of the 500 certain behaviors, principles and laws, were extracted. These were then tested. Taught to others to see if they too could get the same or similar results. They did. It worked! Hill’s offering changed the world for many!

If It Is Possible For One Person It Is Possible For Any Person

Napoleon Hill, through his works and books, has been said to be responsible for the success and creation of more millionaires in history than anyone else. His works are just as relevant and applicable today as they were 80 years ago.

Hill and others have encouraged people to take possession of their own mind and make it give them the life they want. He taught how to develop and control one’s mind. It is the ONE thing in the universe over which a person MAY have complete control.

It is not unlike taming a wild beast. It takes dedication, patience and love. It takes persistence, repetition and reward. It may not be easy at times. The beast may appear to win some of the time but you must be in charge. The effort pays off big for those willing to pay the price.

Your Past Does Not Equal Your Future

It does not come cheap said  Hill. It costs you your time, energy, devotion and takes as long as it takes any individual. Some will be quicker than others for no known or apparent reason. If you are willing to commit to it, once learned, you can write your own ticket.

Through the process you control your mind, your emotions and learn how to aim and direct your mental faculties and behaviors at becoming successful. You must learn how to use your mind in a particular fashion.

The first step in becoming successful is knowing your Definite Chief Purpose in life. What are you born to do? Why are you here? What brings you the greatest amount of pleasure? What could you not live without doing or being?

You Must Be Willing To Pay The Price For Success

Through self examination, questioning, and reflection you determine you purpose. From there you set goals that are consistent with you fulfilling that purpose.  These goals can be stepping stones or rungs of the ladder to your ultimate destination.

You must want this more than anything. It must consume you. You must think on it day and night. You must imagine yourself already in possession of the good you desire. See, hear and feel your wants fulfilled. Visualize and affirm your success most of your time!

Feel those incredible feelings of gratitude and appreciation. It is through repeatedly thinking positively about it and feeling the good feelings you get your subconscious mind working on your behalf. Your subconscious is the gateway to getting your desires.

Correct Repetition Forms Reliable Positive Habits

It requires constant focus and repetition. You need to acquire the ability to maintain a positive mental attitude and stay focused on the acquisition of your desire regardless of what and while present circumstances may be contradictory.

You do that by developing an active faith. Not a religious belief in icons but the tenacious belief that you will have what you want. Because you KNOW someday you will have what you want you continue to strive toward making it happen without quitting.

One of the powerful practices to assist you along the way isn creating value for others. Going the extra mile or doing more than is expected of you, or more than your are being paid for AND following the Golden rule are critical.

Mastery Is An Ongoing Process Not A One Time Event

Through these practices and by developing and maintaining a pleasing personality Hill says you can attract to yourself others who are interested in helping you, support you and even invest in you or provide capital for your ventures.

You form a Master Mind Alliance. A small collection of  members are all of one deep abiding accord and work together in perfect harmony. Perfect Harmony is the key. The Master Mind works together in pursuit of one common goal in perfect harmony.

Otherwise, it is a mere collection of people interested in a topic It is popular these days since the term sounds important. These are not real mastermind alliances.  The true Master Mind Alliance exponentially enhances the members resources and abilities.

Success Breeds Success

It can because each member has different abilities pertinent to your pursuit. A Master Mind Alliance assembles based on the resources you need to fulfill your purpose. It’s not a club. A real Master Mind opens up incredible doorways you can’t begin to imagine.

Hill states that by cultivating these qualities and the ability to be a leader of your own self, make quick decisions based on accurate thinking and evidence, not gossip or opinion are important ingredients for making what you want to happen.

A leader must inspire others and must be willing to do whatever is asked of followers. A leader has to have a quality mindset and remain positive even when defeat appears imminent. One can not give up and run.

Learning: The More You Do The More You Are Able To Do

All in all Hills work is the science for learning how to make your career, your finances, your relationships and your life what you want them to be. It is simple but not always easy.

You must keep going and never quit. You develop the mind skills to learn from challenges instead of letting them defeat you. You pay a high price for all this but in the end the reward outweighs the price you paid.

Few will every take the journey. Many will begin but few will follow through. It is action and follow through that is important. If you want to drive to visit New York City you must keep going until you get there.

All Challenges Are Temporary – Failure Occurs When You Quit

If you quit anywhere along the way the truth is you stopped traveling toward you destination. You quit or gave up, whatever the reason. Some will say it is too difficult and never begin. Others will say it is all about money or not their values.

Everyone will have their own reason why or why not their life works or it doesn’t. Excuses and blaming others or circumstances will never get you the life or the riches or the relationships you desire. You must realize that.

Do not put it off until everything is right, or until you have enough knowledge, or friends, or money or whatever EXCUSE you use to delay moving forward, only DELAYS moving forward. The time is never right. The time is always NOW. There is no other time.

Now Is The Time – Right Here Is The Place – There Is No Other

Begin today. right where you are. You have everything you need right there within you to be a huge success. Yes, of course, you don’t believe it and you don’t know where it is otherwise you’d already be that big success. BUT YOU DO. Yes, it is like an acorn seed.

Everything about the mighty oak is contained in the seed. It simply has to be released. If released and nourished it will become an incredible oak tree. You will succeed when you release your inner resources and abilities and nourish those along the way.

Lastly, those who succeed, aren’t greedy. The true success doesn’t step on or crush others to win. The true success doesn’t need to. The genuine success celebrates the advancement of others, is not envious but realizes success never happens in isolation.

Success Never Happens Alone It Takes Cooperation From Others

It take others to succeed. The truly successful person succeeds with others and brings them along too. Celebration, gratitude and appreciation are inherent within those who are genuine. Enjoy being successful with others. Help them along.

Encourage and support. Reciprocate. Be kind, understanding and loving with people. Be relentless in your pursuit of your Definite Chief Purpose. Embody the principles, take possession of your mind and you can write your own ticket!” Rex Sikes

How To You Motivate Yourself To Succeed

“In order to succeed or reach a big dream or goal you have to be filled with passion. Napoleon Hill called it ‘white hot burning desire’. If you want to succeed in your career or life it must drive you.

It’s not a wish or want because that has no force to drive you. It must be something you cannot imagine living without. You must have it! You do every legitimate thing you can until you do. It compels you!

Once you have a burning desire to fulfill your purpose you move forward with great intensity. Every successful person shares this in common. They know precisely what they want! They go after it!

Motivation Comes From Doing Not From Waiting To Do

They know they will make it happen! The don’t let anything stop them from achieving their desire. No matter what the odds. They do what it takes! They keep the faith and are positive they will succeed.

They are committed. They have chosen a purpose or a goal they intend to fulfill. The have written it down and committed it to memory. They dwell on it day and night. They imagine life and what it is like to live with their accomplishment. It consumes them!

They visualize it and affirm it often through out each day. They direct all their energies to making it come true. True Motivation comes from doing! Motivations doesn’t come before you do it.

Once You Start You Motivation Will Follow

They learn from set backs and plan changes. Most all of them have faced criticism and even ridicule from well intending family and friends. The Wright Brothers own father thought they were damned in hell for attempting to fly. They didn’t let that stop them.

Most people though Ford’s idea of a horseless carriage totally inane, after all, they already had a good horse. The more you do the more you can do! Prove it to yourself! Start and motivation will follow!

Ford’s own engineers thought what he wanted was impossible. They said it couldn’t be done. He told them to keep trying until they could do it. After a time, they came back and said it was still impossible. He told them to not return until they did it. He knew it was possible!

Most People Make This Mistake – They Wait To Be Motivated

They came back after a year with news that they had created what he imagined. A good thing Ford wasn’t hampered by the same thinking his engineers were. Ford pushed them to persevere!

Ford changed the world. Roadways led to highways and interstates. Towns, service stations, fast food restaurants, motels and more sprang up. An entire infrastructure was financed  and constructed creating new industry. All because Ford envisioned a new way.

The Wright Brothers changed land and sea transportation to air. They reduced the amount of time travel took and made the world smaller. We travel outer space as a result! They imagined flight first!

The More You Do The More You Can Do

People have changed the world with a single idea that they were convinced they would accomplish. They persisted and they did. Jim Carey stood high in the hills of Hollywood at night. Alone with a vision.

He imagined the moguls of Hollywood hiring him and paying him millions. He made it happen. Oprah Winfrey went from rags to riches with a media empire. The stories are countless. Winners win! Be a winner too! You can do it. Take action! Don’t wait.

If you believe it you can achieve it. Pour your energy into making it happen, and you devote yourself to its accomplishment no matter how long it may take. Make it happen! You must believe and expect to do it. No one will do it for you. They will do it for themselves.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Brought You

You must live your dream day and night and let nothing distract you. Do not succumb to temporary defeat or quit. If you quit it is over. Keep going, never give up! Persist, persist, persist, again and again.

You will succeed faster if you are nice to others. Go the extra mile all along the way. Provide great value to them first. Be friendly, optimistic and fun to be around. You will get further faster if you enlist the friendly and harmonious co-operation of others.

You do that by being friendly and supportive first. What goes around comes around. No one makes it on their own. You make it with others! Celebrate others success and they will celebrate yours.

You Will Be Where Your Thoughts Take You

Begin where you are! Begin right now. Conceive it, and believe it. Be passionate about it and ideas for plans will come. The how never comes first it comes through action. You see as you travel.

Edison didn’t know how to light the world until he made a working light bulb. He tried 10,000 times. He didn’t know how to make a light bulb work until AFTER he succeeded. You get more excited moving forward! Go as far as you can go.  From there you will see farther.

Don’t wait until you know how. Begin today and the how will become evident along the way. That is how it works. Once you direct your energies powerfully toward your purpose your mind opens up.

You Cannot Escape Your Thoughts

It helps you discover ideas and opportunities previously closed off to you. Energy begets energy. When you direct it positively good things are possible. Enjoy! Celebration makes everything easier. You Want To Be Wealthy But Are You Thinking Wealthy?

“Are you aware the effects of your thinking is cumulative? What you get in life is determined by the critical mass of your thoughts? Most people believe they are positive most of the time. They aren’t. What would you say you are if asked? Are you mostly positive or mostly negative? It matters greatly. It determines your results.

Most people most of the time aren’t actually thinking positive much of the time. If they were our world would be a much different place. They spend some time thinking positive but then are distracted with other thoughts. Some are negative. For others it isn’t negativity occupying their mind but thoughts that don’t add up to positive.

What Do You Spend Most Of Your Time Thinking And Feeling?

Their cumulative effect is nil. Zero. This matters a great deal with how quickly you are able to manifest your dreams and goals. It is the preponderance of your thoughts that makes the difference. The scales must tip in the direction of positive thoughts and feeling most of the time, each day of the week.

You want to think and feel good more than you do anything else. If you had two piles of laundry one to be washed and one clean which is the larger?  Which is larger if you have three piles of thoughts? Is it the negative pile, the useless pile or the positive and directed thoughts?

You are either in a resort in the south of France or you are not. You can’t be there and back home at the same time in physical reality. Of course, you could be in your mind. You could be on the most marvelous beach in the world and miss it because you brought your office or family problems with you. That sucks, doesn’t it?

You Are Always On One Side Of The Fence Or The Other

Those of you working on being wealthier and living abundantly consider this:  You imagine, ‘I am abundant, I am rich. I have more than enough money to pay my bills’. Then you go into a store and look at items you want. If you’re like most people the first thing you check is the price tag. You look to see if you can afford it.

That is not abundant thinking! If you were wealthy, of course, you could afford it. The question is do you want it? Do you purchase what you want or only what you can afford? I am not suggesting you purchase anything because even the fabulously wealthy can be thrifty. Still, your thinking and actions, should support each other.

Positivity Is An Attitude To Permeate Each Of Your Moments

Most people purchase what they can afford. They aren’t purchasing what they want. Think about that. If the first thoughts are ‘wow, that is too much’ or ‘is there a cheaper one’ you aren’t thinking rich. If you want abundance you must practice abundance. You must think and act from having more than enough and not from lack.

Your behaviors should be congruent with your thoughts. You could look at it and think, ‘Good thing I am rich’. Or, ‘I can easily afford this’. Or ‘WOW that is inexpensive’. You could think, ‘I’ll take 6’, or ‘Maybe, I’ll just buy the entire store’. Someone owns the place, why not you? Your attitude should be one of plenty.

What You Say Is What You Get

Align your thoughts and feelings and behaviors. If you want to get out of debt and lack then think abundance and behave abundantly. Again, I am not suggesting spending a dime I am addressing the  thinking process. What are you focused on most of the time? Do you spend your days predominantly thinking about what you want?

Do you predominantly think about what you don’t want? Do you sometimes think positive and then most of your thoughts drift and are useless? They are on the news; Facebook items; gossip; distractions; the traffic; how slow the elevator is; the long line at the coffee shop;  etc. They’re useless thoughts that add up to nothing!

Feel The Best You Can Most Of The Time – Feel Wonderful

Those thoughts aren’t focused or directed. Develop your thought habits so that most of what you think each day is positive, optimistic and of well being. Think about what you want and are grateful for. You want your chronic thinking to be productive wonderful thinking not the thinking types you did in the past.

Monitor your feelings to determine what you are thinking most of the time. Are you feeling wonderful and energetic? Do you feel so so, okay or ho-hum.  Do you feel not good but not bad most of the time? Are you bored, angry, worried or miserable much of the time? To get what you want you must feel your best.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Take You

We become what we think about. What we focus on expands. To live in a particular reality we must first conceive of that reality. The easiest way to feel good, apart from the numerous methods I have shared in these blog pages, is to feel grateful right now for what you already do have. Celebrate whatever you have fully! Delight in it!

Be thankful! Celebrate! Feel grateful right now for what you want in the future, too. Be as grateful as you will be when it arrives. Be grateful now as if you already have it. Be thankful for that which hasn’t appeared yet. Celebrate everything! Enjoy and delight and live in appreciation. This will help you always feel your best!” Rex Sikes
