If You Read Nothing Else Read This: What To Do When Troubled

“People say, ‘you are always so positive are you ever troubled?’ There are good days and not so good. That’s just how it is, right? Times can be troublesome? Sometimes you are riding high and you get knocked down very far and hard. What to do?

There are days when I don’t feel thrilled. There are days that are difficult. There are times when everything seems oppositional. At times, events and circumstances turn for the worse.

There are moments when I wonder what I am doing. Sometimes, I feel a sucker and want to throw in the towel. Sometimes, I don’t want to feel positive or feel good. Sometimes, I feel blah or resentful. I have rough days and good days. Some very difficult.

What I have learned from my practice is that ultimately I am in charge and I am in control. What used to swamp my boat no longer does. When disappointments come the lows are not nearly as low as they have been in the past. I have learned and benefit from my practice.

You Have To Learn That You Control Your Thoughts

Sometimes, deals don’t manifest. Sometimes, someone else gets the role. I get angry at my family for no apparent reason. Yes, things happen. I lose out on an opportunity or a job. Money may be tight. Kids don’t do what I ask. I feel overwhelmed. I feel distant, or sad, or angry.

In the past few months I didn’t get a part I had hoped for. A few deals fell through. Some money issues presented. Someone, had stalled me for months on something that I needed to get handled. A lot goes on each and every day.

There are everyday life concerns, kid concerns, relationship concerns, friend concerns, business concerns.  You name it, we can get caught up. I have. I do. Life is whatever it is. It just is. We determine whether we react or respond to it.

Recently, a young friend of our family, took his life. It really ripped me up. I felt so sorry for he and his family. I am still shocked and saddened. Still, sad and angry at him for not giving it another day. What he did hurt, not only himself, but everyone who cared for him.

Thankfully, I fall back on my practice when I realize times are turning tough. Sometimes, I notice right away. Sometimes, it takes me awhile. It is a much shorter time now, than it was years ago that is for certain.

You Direct Your Mind By What You Put Your Energy Into

It means as soon as I realize I am feeling or thinking less than gloriously I begin to direct my mind back to the positive. I become aware that less than glorious feelings mean I must be thinking less than glorious thoughts. So I change my thoughts and my feelings.

I use questions. I discovered this for myself back in 1980. I direct my attention back towards what I know I want to focus on. I ask questions about how I want to feel. I steer my thoughts and feelings back gently in a productive way.

I have written about using questions a number of times in these blog pages. I encourage you to go back, find and read so you can too, if you would like to. I utilizeDirected Questions™ all the time.

Soon enough, sometimes, now, almost immediately, I begin to notice a shift toward  feeling better. When you think better you feel better! Questions work wonders because there is far less resistance to an innocent, well intentioned question.

What You Focus On Is What You Get

I remind myself that athletes and troops often don’t feel like it but continue to train or do whatever they must do to continue to move forward. I then do my best to follow through. Like it or not I continue to affirm and visualize and focus on what I want to make happen even when I don’t feel like it.

I have learned to push through it. Eventually, it gives way and I feel better. I remind myself when things don’t work out that obstacles and disappointments are they way I learn to direct my mind.

If everything were easy I would never have to learn how. I have learned to embrace tough times, more often than not, now. The kite rises against the wind. There are learnings and lessons in challenge.

There is great value to these times. I used to try to avoid or escape them. Now, more often, I say bring it! Give me your best shot because I will prevail! I will learn, benefit and prevail! All is good!

A boxer wants a challenging fight.There are rock finger climbers who hang hundreds of feet above rocks without safety harnesses because they want the challenge. I say bring it on!

When things don’t happen or I lose out on something I remind myself that I am a creator and attractor. Yes, I  wanted this OR something better.

If it is not this, then something better is on the way. I will ultimately manifest something much better. Sometimes, you have to clean out the closet to make room for the new stuff. I will create something better then!

Whatever Follows The Words I AM – IS – What You Are

Sometimes, we need to clear the way for better things. If I don’t get what I wanted I look for what better something is on the way. This isn’t some  fairy tale magic. This is keeping myself open and available and receptive to other good things and possibilities.

I recognize that I only see a fraction of life at any second. There is much more happening than I can ever be aware of. I surrender to the possibility that I don’t know everything. Ultimately everything works out for the best. It always has.

I always, no matter what, have landed on my feet. I have faced some tremendous challenges in life and have managed to get through them. So, even when things look bleak, I have a pretty good life. I remind myself to remember that. AND I do!

I practice gratitude and remember to count my blessings. I celebrate life and the ups and downs. I think, I am divine and am playing one heck of a game on myself.

Whatever Follows The Words I HAVE – IS – What You Have

I am a divine trickster seeing if I can ruffle the poor human and make him squirm or rise up to the occasion and overcome all difficulty. I begin to claim my power and my authority.

I realize like David facing Goliath that this is a day to claim victory and rush the giant, or my problems, to meet them head on, and to not whine, or blame. Yes, sometimes I vent to another.

Fairly quickly, I try to remember to only speak to bless, heal and prosper. I attempt to remember that what I say is what I get and to not further difficulties but talk solutions and speak positively. Loose lips sinks ships.

Life is whatever life is. Up and down. I am learning through it all not to try to run or escape tough times, low times or disappointments but to find the seeds of opportunity and advantage within them.

Everyday can be a day to celebrate. Just because circumstances suck it doesn’t mean I have to suck for the circumstances. I can be a champion in times of trouble.

Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude

I am learning that I do have all the resources at any moment to make any change. If I think I am defeated I am. If I think I am troubled I am. If I think I am poor I am. Whatever I think and declare myself to be is what I am. I make it so by my own words.  No one else does, but me.

HOWEVER, if I think I am victorious, even when it doesn’t yet appear that way, I AM. If I think I am free and living the good life, even when it may not seem like it, then I AM. If I think I am rich, even while paying bills, then I AM. I determine who I am, what I am, how I am.

I am the one in charge. I am the one who turns difficulties into opportunities by changing how I feel and what I focus on. I steer my mind toward the goodI want to focus on. I have learned that if I focus on troubles I only get more of them.

I have learned that if I want to get to my destination, though the waters may be severely troubled, I need to stay the course and be the captain of soul and the master of my fate. No one can or will do it for me even when I have support and love around me.

You Don’t Get Uphill Thinking Downhill Thoughts

If it is to be it is up to me. Yes, there are dark times but I have learned how to find the light. Anyone can. Little by little, inch by inch, step by step. I have learned to nudge myself along in a better, more positive direction. If I can’t leap into bliss I can inch my way into it.

I wrote of Barnes in my last blog and I will again in upcoming ones. When nothing seemed to be happening for a significant period of time, Hill states, Barnes intensified his desire to make his dream come true.

He did not lose faith. He did not give up. He did not quit and seek something else to do. He kept at it until, one day, five years later he was beginning to live the destiny he wanted. He was persistent.

We need to be persistent and consistent in our dedication to ourself in living the best life we can at any given moment. The difference between me now versus then, what I have learned and done that is successful, is that I eliminated some old detrimental habits and replaced them with more productive, positive ones. New habits!

We need to learn to laugh in the midst of adversity, troubles and tears. We need to find our inner joy, our bliss and celebrate all the wonderful things each second because our troubles are only a portion of all life offers. The more we do the more we can do!

What You Focus Expands

Yes, they look large and may seem to be all encompassing BUT actually they are not. They are small in comparison to everything else that is going on and that is available. There is so much more going on in any instant. You just need to look and  find the good.

If you look for it you will find it. Believe it is there and you will discover it. That is the job of the Reticular Activating System (RAS) remember, to find examples in the outer world that match your inner convictions and beliefs. Believing is seeing.

Believe all is good. Believe unexpected good is coming your way even though you can’t yet see it. Keep the faith. Believe that you always land on your feet.

My life is so incredible. I live a blessed life. Does it mean I have the best of everything. Nope, not yet, at least. It does mean I make the best of all I presently have. I make the best of the past and look forward to a marvelous future.

The present is glorious EVEN when it isn’t. Times may be tough but not for as long. New thought habits replaced the old. New wine skins for new wine. Everything becomes new! Most of the time I have learned to feel wonderful regardless of what is going on. THAT is what this practice is all about.

You Become What You Think About Most

I repeat, I have learned, through my practice that attitude determines your altitude and what you are capable of doing. Most importantly, I have learned, if it is to be IT IS UP TO ME!

I am responsible for how I live each moment. SO I make the most and the best of each moment. Once the moment is gone it is gone! Believe that something better is on the way and YOU will soon discover it. Decide to make the best of whatever life gives you!

Have faith! Keep the faith! Prevail! Be a champion over your difficulties. Take tiny steps if you must. Free yourself from the mental bindings that have held you. You can, you know. Think new thoughts, develop new habits and all of life changes.” Rex Sikes

Here’s How You Can Make Tremendous Positive Change Bit By Bit.

“Would you like to get more bang for your buck? Wouldn’t you like it if benefits came more quickly and easily? The results you want, you can absolutely have! You can increase the likelihood you will be, do and have whatever you want IF you will do this.

You are more apt to make your dreams come true if you will make this part of your practice. If you will practice this way. Just keep in mind, make it your motto that ‘Little things add up’. If you do a few little things routinely, overtime the effect is cumulative and powerful.

Within these blog pages I have shared things you can do that result in tremendous positive change and transformation. All you need to do is put them into practice. Do them, repeat them, regularly and you will surprise and delight yourself.  It is quite easy, actually.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

Some people want that one big thing they think will change everything, all at once so they won’t have to work at it. Rarely, if ever does it happen that way. More often, one changes because one is conditioned to change.

One big day of exercise does nothing, frankly. Exercise over time, repeated regularly has an effect. Even if it is nothing more than walking if you do it every day it is amazingly beneficial. Some people think that is not doing enough. They want it tough and hard. They do not want any fluff.

However, if it is too hard, to complicated, or too confusing people are more likely to give up. They will abandon the practice. If it is a no brainer, easy but effective, they are more apt to continue and get the benefits.

The More You Do The More You Can Do

Shortly, after the New Year resolutions are abandoned. People won’t keep doing if it interrupts the flow of their day. We are routined and entrenched in our habitual lifestyles. Heaping onto and already busy schedule rarely results in success.

SO if you do nothing, nothing will change. You must change something to get the results you want. BUT if you try to do too much, it is more likely, you won’t continue with it. Then you will exclaim, you tried it and it didn’t work. The truth is you didn’t try it long enough to make it stick.

A pound of feathers is the same as a pound of stones. Keep in mind, make this your motto, ‘Drop by drop the tub gets filled’. Little by little you get closer and closer. Step by step the journey is made. Constant, regular, correct repetition will get you the results you want quicker than anything else.

Everything Worth Doing Seems Difficult At First

A plant grows from seed to sapling in its own time. You cannot rush it. A watched pot never boils, at least, it seems to take forever. That is because it gradually heats up. It is goes unnoticed for awhile but many things are happening within the pot. Atoms and molecules are banging around. Eventually, it will produce a noisy, rolling boil.

If you let go and become captivated with other things, before you know it, much will have transpired.  Become fascinated with how incredibly beautiful the world is. Notice how much good there is and how marvelous most of the people are. IF you did ONLY this life would get better all on its own.

Let go of the rest. Enjoy and delight, become inspired and little else will matter. Celebrate and be thankful. Do this, a little bit, every few moments, throughout each day. It will end up profoundly affecting you in positive ways. Try it. You will be surprised.

If You Want To Do It You Will Find A Way

Read at least a page or two a day of inspirational material a day. Smile more. Laugh more frequently. Walk around and enjoy what you experience.

Repeat some short, meaningful positive affirmations frequently throughout the day. Use great, wonderful feelings as you repeat them. Speak only to bless, heal and prosper. Look for the good in yourself, others and the world. Stop criticizing and blaming and start praising.

Little thing, you can easily do more of, do often. Draw your attention to how good you are feeling and appreciate it. Whenever you notice you are not feeling so good, or you are feeling less than glorious, notice what you are thinking and think some better thoughts. Change whatever you are focused on. Change your own thinking. Take control.

Whatever you are fascinated with you will get because it gets you.  What captivates you and grabs your attention and energy is what you spend your time on.

What you spend your time thinking about is ultimately what you get back. It is your return on investment (ROI). Go back, reread through this blog. Discover some of the other simple things that are powerful to put into practice.

If You Don’t Want To Do It You Will Find An Excuse

Remember these and make them your mottos, What you see IS what you get. What you say IS what you get. What you feel IS what you get. What you think about IS what you bring about! Little by little change what you do; put into practice simple things, small behaviors you can repeat throughout the day and your benefits will be amazing.

The small seed becomes the mighty oak. A few apple seeds can result in hundreds and thousands and hundreds of thousands of apples. Your small efforts will pay off in big ways. You will, through, repetition, make these positive behaviors habits.

Once habits they are reliable and automatic and serve you in ways you presently can’t imagine. True transformation really is the development of new more productive, positive and powerful habits that help us move forward to get what we want. Change can be quite easy when you know how. Now you know. Do it today!”

Why You Always Find It In The Last Place You Look

“There is an old joke I am going to make a blonde joke. It’s fair I was born a blonde. A blonde is rummaging in the house muttering ‘I can’t find my keys.’  Her husband asks, “Where did you last have them?’ ‘Outside’, she replies, ‘but the light is better in here.’

This is a perfect example of what most of us do. We look everywhere but where we need to. ‘What you lost is always in the last place you look’. While designed to be a humorous (and obvious) statement it is also true. Often, we don’t find things until the last place we look, because we hadn’t considered looking there until then.

We don’t consider looking where it actually may be until late in the search. The reason it is so difficult for you and me is we are brought up told to look in all the wrong places. We look outside ourself, we look at parents, teachers, peers. We are taught to look outside ourselves.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You

We learn from example as well. We adopt behaviors we see others engage in and make them our own. Then we look to other people, circumstances, the weather, the economy, the government; we look to religion and god. We look to events and results. We are never much encouraged to look within ourself and find.

We are not encouraged to take responsibility for ourselves. We learn to blame, whine and criticize. We exclaim, ‘somebody ought to do something! There ought to be a law!’  Is it any wonder then that many of our politicians, of the past number of decades, lie, cheat, and blame everything except themselves for their foibles.

When it comes down to it we expect them to fess up, own up and state, ‘I alone acted this way. I am responsible and I am accountable’. The buck never actually seems to stop where it belongs to stop. Even then, we ‘know’ they are just saying that to get out if it.

The buck actually needs to stop with each us. Each of us needs to take 100% responsibility for what we think, feel and do. Since, we are taught to look everywhere and assign responsibility to everything except where it belongs, it makes it difficult for us to be deliberate creators.

You Will Be Where Your Thoughts Take You

We doubt and have fear and worry things might not happen as we hope they will because we don’t think we have any control. It seems difficult to be a deliberate creator because we have never been responsible for anything. We need to overcome our own conditioning. We have to get past our habits of blaming others.

We are distracted and unfocused.  Since we learned to assign responsibility to anything and everything outside of us we are not in control but subject to the whims of whomever or whatever. We are like little boats without sails being bounced around by the sea.

Drifting, with little power of our own. Is it any wonder the Law Of Attraction doesn’t seem to work. Instead of creating what we want we are filled with mostly less than glorious, habitual, routine patterns of negative thought.

We blame the universe instead of deliberately creating something that we do want. We tolerate or hate our circumstances instead of creating something different. We were never told, and it was never reinforced, that we create out reality. We are responsible for our results and circumstances but we didn’t know that.

You Cannot Escape The Consequences Of Your Thoughts

Come what may we are in charge. It is up to each of us whether we sink or swim. If we want to swim we can. We can learn how and we are able. Those are not the messages most of us get. So most of us put responsibility for our success and happiness on others and other things outside ourself.

If you expect others to make you happen; if you expect events to fulfill you then you may be in deep trouble when it comes to romantic and familial relationships. The other person can complement you but don’t expect the other person to be your reason for being happy. We contribute to each other, only.

We should take 100% responsibility for our circumstances and lot in life. We should take 100% responsibility for all of our decisions. If we were poorly informed then we should take 100% responsibility for not bothering to get better information. Our life is NOT anyone else’s responsibility. We shouldn’t expect them to make us happy or successful.

To take full responsibility, for good or bad, no matter what the case, means we can do something about it. When we pass the buck we deny our own ability to take charge and in control. When we keep telling ourself again and again someone or something else is to blame our subconscious gets that we aren’t in charge.

Thoughts Are Things

DO you get that? If you give away all your power your subconscious will agree with you that you are powerless. Remember, it is a faithful servant who says yes and looks to prove you correct by finding proof in the outer world. Instead of being a victor you will remain a victim and convinced you are one.

If we decide we aren’t powerful and can’t change things then that means we have to accept whatever is, even if we don’t like it. It is out of our control.  Everything and everyone else affects us. We are helpless to make changes. Basically, we are hopeless too. WHO would ever want to live this way?

When we have the opportunity to decide to use the law of attraction and make things happen we are previously conditioned to not be a creator but to be a reactor to outside influences. We want to create but our brain says others do that. See how insidious this conditioning can be. It is habit. It is routine. It is familiar.

People will do what is familiar and comfortable far more than they will do anything that feels uncomfortable for them. That means, if suffering is what they are used to they will continue because it is more comfortable to continue that to change it. WOW, right?

What You Think About You Bring About

When we think ‘I want more money’ and prior conditioning chimes in with, ‘well that will never happen. The economy sucks’. Or, ‘I pay to much in taxes’. Or, ‘I don’t deserve to be rich’. Or,  ‘all rich people are greedy’ ‘The powerful have made it impossible for the rest of us to get ahead’. Any number of limiting beliefs rush to the surface.

If we see something we want and think, ‘I can’t afford it’ your subconscious says, ‘right you are! Yes, YOU cannot afford it’ IT is too expensive for you’. You subconscious, as mentioned, will agree with you and seek to find you additional prove as to why you can’t. It will scour through your past and present to present you example.

WHAT you THINK and WHAT you SAY is what you get! The reason you don’t have a million dollars is because you can’t SEE yourself with a million dollars. You don’t SAY to yourself , ‘I am rich and a millionaire’ and imagine what that is like. If you can’t fully imagine it being yours, now in the present, you won’t have it. In order to behave in a reality you must first conceive of that reality!

Instead, you see the bills. You entertain the circumstances  of not having enough. You focus on lack and not being able to afford things. You react automatically to not having enough. You think life is otugh and hard.  You fret, worry, and doubt you will be able to make your payments. Still, you struggle and hope that you do so the bank doesn’t foreclose or repossess.

You Get What You Focus On

What you have not done is to decide to be in complete charge of you and everything in your life. You haven’t yet decided to create that wealth no matter what.

As long as you think and act from lack you will always not get what you want. As long as you try to avoid what you don’t want you will only create more and attract more of what you don’t want. As long as you put the responsibility elsewhere you will keep missing out! You must recognize YOU have to be in charge and determine what you will create!

You need to determine what will fill your mind with and how you will feel most of the time. You need to choose what you will think, see, say and feel! You need to become the emperor you were always meant to be. Be strong and powerful. Be determined and focused. Otherwise, you live from victim mentality and lose out.

The last place people look is to their own power. The last place they look is to  their own subconscious mind and thoughts. People were not taught to rely on their own subconscious, not because it isn’t powerful, BUT because it is! You can’t be a sheeple if you are in charge of your own thoughts and identity.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

NO nation needs a citizenry of individuals and leaders. Nations need sheeple who are the worker bees, who don’t make waves, who can be controlled. Hence, the great deception from long ago. There are the have’s and then there are the rest. We live in a feudal world.

There are the leaders and then the followers, there are owners and the workers.  I bet right now you may be thinking, ‘but of course that’s how things are’. Yes, they are AND they could be otherwise! The POWERS don’t want leaders.  Too many cooks spoil the broth. They want sheeple, worker bees.

Instead of being told you have an incredible brain, you can learn and do anything; you are completely resourceful; you can be completely self determining while working in collaboration with others, you are told you need to go to school, get a job and settle down.

Live as best you can, stay out of trouble, retire, and die. Work 40 hours a week for 40 years to get 40% pension. That  pension, which now, no longer really exists. They are taking that away. We have been deceived. You have been deceived.  Alright, enough about the great deception. You may or may not believe it anyway.

Do Not Be Deceived

The point is to become self determining! You should absolutely believe in is yourself. If you don’t believe what I write here investigate it and learn the science and history behind it. You really should be informed as to what is going on. Look through the lies and really search it out.

Within YOU is amazing power to be, do and have whatever you want! You don’t know that or you don’t know how to use that because you didn’t grow up knowing how to. You just weren’t informed, so it is the last place you look. It is okay because you can change all that.

Just because you didn’t get exposed to it early on doesn’t mean you can’t do something about it now. While, it may have been ideal to have been brought up that way, face it, most likely you weren’t. Can’t cry about water over the damn. That train left the station. Get with the current program and learn to do it now! Now is all you have!

Look to yourself. Learn to utilize your own power. Make your life what you want it to be. Live as you have dreamed. Don’t be stingy with yourself or loved ones. Don’t be a victim or a blamer or wimp. Take responsibility and take charge of your life. You may only have one go around so make it count.

Every Limitation Is An Illusion – Every Excuse A Lie

Don’t live beneath who you are or your means. Live as an emperor. Live as a victor and a champion. Never say or speak about what you do not want. Only think and talk about WHAT YOU DO WANT AND CAN DO.  DON’T waste time in gossip or complaints. Stop, no longer focus on less than glorious circumstances.

Imagine fully and feel all the wonderful feelings, wanting what you do want. Only think about what you want to bring about Focus your attention and your energy. Get you brain working for you the way you want it to. Accept nothing less.

Do not be haphazard. Don’t let the old habitual ways you learned to work from others dictate who you are or what you do. Napoleon Hill stated, ‘if you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it.’ Think it into being. Believe it is possible and you can and you will do whatever it takes to bring it about. Be strong and persist.

What To Do After You Give Thanks!

“Did you enjoy giving thanksgiving?  Were you able to get together with family and friends. That is a reason to celebrate and be glad.

If you took time to feel grateful for all the good things in your life, do it again. Do it today. Then do it again and again. Count your blessings. What do you do after you give thanks? Give thanks again!

Feel the gratitude. Celebrate those feelings. When you do you make room for there to be more in your life. Like attracts like. When you look for and find people, events and circumstances to appreciate you get back more.

Keep giving thanks! Keep feeling the thankfulness. Wonderful things will happen as you do. Appreciate the tough times for what you can learn by going through them. Every moment is a moment to be thankful for and an opportunity to feel grateful. Keep it up!

If it helps to make a list make one. List big and small things to feel thankful for. First thing in the morning and right before you go to bed are great times to put your thoughts on gratefulness. Never let the sun go down feeling bad, irritated or angry with yourself, another or circumstances. Feel good, feel great when going to sleep.

That is time when your subconscious mind processes, clears, renews for the next day. If you are filled with joy, love, peace and happiness; if you energy is on all good and wonderful moments you had during your day, you set yourself up for more in the next day. If angry or sad, you set yourself up for more of that same the following day too.

You get what you focus on. It does actually expand. Your subconscious mind gets the messages you give it by your images and what you say to yourself and others. The most powerful delivery vehicle for those messages are your feelings. SO when you are upset with people and circumstances your subconscious goes, ‘okay I get it. This is what you want more of.’ It then works to deliver more of the same.

If you want more good things you have to feel more good things more of the time so your unconscious delivers that instead of the crappy things. Do you get this? There is a reason to think positive and feel good most of the time. YOU actually do get back what you put out there. You become what you think about. That is why! Beyond this fact, it feels good to mostly feel good. Make your moments count. They either work for you or against you. Celebrate!

Enjoy all life offers. It is what is is. The serenity prayer includes, ‘…change the things I can, accept the things I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference’. What is IS! Celebrate and enjoy. If you can’t change it don’t fight it. What you resist persists. Know when to stop and appreciate. Perhaps, in doing that, it will change. I would bet it does. Trying to change things all the time can be the problem too. Accept, enjoy, celebrate and discover. Then celebrate some more!” Rex Sikes

Try This! What True Gratitude Will Do For You

“What is gratitude all about? Why do we celebrate being thankful? How is it beneficial? There are a number of positive and powerful reasons.

Some people keep a gratitude list or do a daily challenge. This is a great practice BUT it is not about the list. It is all about the feeling the list produces. Make the list AND feel grateful for each item.

Let’s face it. Everything is energy. Everything is energy appearing solid. We rarely have much intersection with energy, as science describes it, because we live in what appears to be a solid world.

What You Think About You Bring About

Ancients called our world view Maya or illusion. That which you think you are you are not. You don’t see things as they really are. You see things through your neurological filters and paradigms or belief clusters or systems.

You think you know what reality is but you are actually far removed from what is real. That is why the ancients say you live in illusion. You, me, and most everyone thinks the illusion is the reality but it is not.

Few of us become aware of what ‘reality’ is.  All of us can.  All of us could, but we don’t. When we do we don’t all do it at the same time, either. Anyway, this is an area of large philosophical discussion which we can save for another time. The point is we are energy beings in a world of energy.

Energy Begets Energy

Everything is energy! Feelings are energy. There is less than glorious or low, slow, sluggish and negative energy.mThere is light, high, fast, positive energy. The goal is to feel the positive, wonderful energy more of the time.

Why? Because when you do we feel better, you think and perform better and enjoy life more. Good feelings produce more good feelings. That is how it works. Sadly, there will be those who believe you can’t feel good all of the time. I say, if that is how you wish to live carry on. Just don’t rain on anyone else’s parade.

Would you want to feel good more of the time? Do you? If so here is how you do it. Think on those things that make you feel good. Concentrate on those elements in your present life, as well as the past and future, for which you feel blessed and glad.

You Become What You Think About Most

Recall and concentrate on those people, places, activities, events, circumstances, and attributes, that make you feel good and happy. The more time you spend ACTUALLY appreciating these the better you will feel. You WILL feel better more often. The more time we spend feeling good the more time we get to feel good.

That is the reason for making a daily list of things you FEEL grateful for. Since, birds of a feather flock together, the more you are grateful the more you find to be grateful. The more you find the better you feel. It grows on itself.

The feelings are the most important. Some people can make a list without feeling much of anything. That is not what true gratitude is. Truly, being grateful results in powerful and profound feelings. How would you feel if someone spared your life? Lucky, glad, grateful! I bet you would!!

The More We Do The More We Can Do

The biggest boon to your evolution is to be truly grateful for everything regardless of your circumstances. Count everything as a blessing. Why? Because you are limited by what you can’t see and you can’t see everything.

Illusion! You can’t, yet, see the unexpected good to come from trying circumstances. If you only see the troubles you truly deceive yourself. Every adversity has, within it, the seed of something positive and opportunity.

It just may not appear for awhile. Remember, what you focus on you get. What are you looking at? If you are looking at your dire circumstances you are forgetting about the things you are grateful for. Stay focused on what you are grateful for while passing through the circumstances.

Action Is The Proper Fruit Of Knowlege

Look to what you can be grateful about. Be grateful for anything and everything. When you can live with gratitude and appreciation for everything; even when circumstances are dire or your results less than glorious, is when you have transformed yourself in powerful, positive ways beyond limitation.

You live more enlightened. You are more enlightened. Whatever would have gotten you down, no longer does. You are filled with celebration and thankfulness because you have transformed yourself.

You are living the good life as you are meant to live. Your brain and mind and body is healthier and more efficient.  You can do things with greater ease and flow because your energy is freed up from struggle to be more creative.

What You Focus On Expands

It is positive and powerful instead of negative and powerful. When you are feeling great in this way you are vibrating high, positive, life affirming, energy. So life is good; life is great and life is grand!

This is why you want to be thankful. This is why you feed your mind positive thoughts. This is why you celebrate, even the little you have, because when you do you find more, you are capable of more and you get more. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) finds the positive wonderful, glorious things to match.

You Get Back What You Put Out

This is why you become what we think about. What you think about you bring about. What you focus on expands. You get what you focus on. SO be grateful! Truly, grateful. Focus on those things that make you feel great to be alive, that bring a tear to your eye and fill you up ecstatically!

Gratitude. Celebration. Appreciation. Love. Joy. Blessings. Count them, enjoy them, feel them, savor them! Let your cup run over with goodness and well being. Have a happy thanksgiving each and every moment of every day.” Rex Sikes

Take This Challenge! Discover Great Things!

“Are you ready to really change your life and make it what you want it to be? If you are then you want to take this challenge. You want to challenge yourself because the benefits are incredible. I know you will want to take it many times because it is so powerful.

Have you read my recent posts about the 24 hour manifestation challenges? I have written about 2 recent ones. More will follow I am sure. Why do you think I have mentioned these? There is a reason.

Because I hope you will get inspired to do this too. I hope you investigate it for yourself. You will miss a great deal if you merely read, rely, believe or disbelieve my accounts. I bring them up so you can do it and make it your own experience.

Notice IT

After all, knowledge doesn’t transform us.  It is the correct application of knowledge that does. To know and not to do; is to not know.

You can take part and begin manifesting more of what you want in your life by actively learning how it works and how you work. You can have fun, make discoveries and delight yourself!

My hope is that you will play with it. Utilize the NOPS principle for practice and learning.  NOTICE it (become aware). OWN It (own your observations and awarenesses). PLAY with it (interact, experiment) STAY with it (keep at it, develop it).

Own It

In utilizing the NOPS Principle for practice you take responsibility for learning and accelerate it. As you notice new things you may congratulate yourself for the new awareness thereby nurturing your skills along quicker and easier. As you continue to cycle through practice applying NOPS your awareness and skills grow.

You need to know this is not about learning how to begin manifesting. You already are manifesting everything good and not so good in your life. This is the case whether or not you have realized it before now. You already manifest everything in your life. Learn to accept this!

If you were unaware of your creative power or don’t believe it, yet, this is an opportunity to learn how to deliberately manifest or create. This playful challenge helps you to discover your power of intention.

Once you make it purposeful, instead of haphazard, your life will begin to change in amazing ways. Take the challenge. It will help you focus and train your abilities to use them how you want to use them.

Play With It

If you have been getting a lot of what you do not want then this is especially important for you to learn to do. We all create our reality whether that reality is gorgeous or a mess, or a mix of both. If you are ready to take charge we will proceed. Own up! Let’s go!

If not, let these thoughts think in. Then come back when you are ready. Revisit this concept and begin to experiment. You will be glad you learn to take charge.

You will make you and your life conform to your dreams and goals. Once you take responsibility for everything you will come into your own amazing power.

Are You Ready To Begin Deliberate Manifesting

Pick something unlikely, and determine to manifest it within 24, 48, 72 hours or a week. That is up to you. It could be a butterfly, a particular make, model or color car, 5 dollars or some small amount of money.

It could be you don’t specify anything and just look to find an unexpected good, a gift or blessing that you would otherwise not normally find or get. It could be a parking space or someone buys you a meal. It can be anything. The point is to do it and build your confidence in your manifesting muscle.

Stay With It

Start small and work you way up. The more wins you have the more confidence you will acquire. The more confidence and faith you have in you and your ability the more you will easily manifest other things. Your ability grows as you grow the muscle. Enjoy it, have fun.

If it doesn’t seem to work keep at it. It will. Notice what you are thinking and feeling. Are you supporting and encouraging or doubting and worrying? If the latter, change it.

Have fun, stay positive, don’t get discouraged. Look for and find the best. When you look for the best you will find the best. When you look for the worst you will find the worst. It is your always your choice what you want to focus on, seek and find. Get it?

Now for an update: If you haven’t read my recent challenge scroll back and read. Then this update will make sense.

Less than 48 hours later (after my recent challenge) I on am on the set of a short SAG (actor’s union) film I agreed to appear in.  As I arrive on set I am asked if I would like a snack and am offered Goldfish.

The More we Do The More We Can Do

While it is not unusual for people to purchase and enjoy the snack cracker, they are popular, I have had no contact with the snack for months, maybe years, other that to pass by them in grocery store.

My mechanic today, (yesterday) within 72 hours, came to my house eating goldfish. It is quite fun! My life has been filled with goldfish in the past couple days.

Put your wants and dreams out there. Manifest something fun, take the challenge. Discover the power of focused creation. Become a deliberate creator. Utilize the power of your intention. Make your life how you want it to be. Become the author of your experience. Enjoy, celebrate and delight!” Rex Sikes

Want To Know What Happened With Another 24 Hour Manifestation Challenge?

“I took another 24 hour challenge manifestation challenge. Perhaps, you read about my earlier one within these blog pages. This one proved fascinating as well. You can do these too, there is nothing preventing you.

Well, I suppose a closed mind; a cynical mind; an unwillingness to be open and experiment; there could be things stopping you but there needn’t be. AND you may have manifested some pretty wonderful things already, anyway. Feel free to share and leave comments.

I was challenged to manifest something specific. It could be anything but it had to be specific. I had 24 hours and it had to come to me in an unexpected way BUT I knew what it was I was supposed to get.

This differed from the first challenge of manifest an unexpected good and see what turns up. Okay, I am game. Plus, I know that our Reticular Activating System could be sensitized.

For example, when you purchase a new car (could be anything, a shirt, coat, shoes) you begin to notice all the other same Makes and Models on the road you never did before. This is your brain finding those examples. Your awareness becomes piqued.

For my challenge I wanted something I didn’t think I would easily find without looking for it. I reasoned winter is coming. It is mid-November what presents a challenge. I finally decided on  goldfish.

I thought finding images of goldfish or real goldfish would be unlikely at this time.  Later, it occurred to me I might find the snack crackers somewhere. I even visited a grocery store, not with that in mind, but didn’t travel down the snack cracker isle.

Plus, I had been covering a film festival which just ended. My challenge would end at 6pm during the festival. This meant that from 6pm to 6pm most likely I was in the theater watching the films or back at the hotel writing these blogs.

There weren’t any goldfish in anything. I’m in the darkened theater with only 10 minutes to go on this 24 hour challenge, A charming movie from California, a comedy romance, called, ‘Dirty Beautiful’ had just finished. NO goldfish!

The movie ended. I was where I had been all day, in the back at the computer table, blogging and working.  Enamored,  I wanted to learn more about the director cast and crew. I went to imdb.com

I looked at the lead actress bio because she seemed familiar. Then I turned my attention to the lead actor. I very much enjoyed him in this role.  I went to his credits. I didn’t even catch it at first but third credit from the top, a short film he appears in, ‘Goldfish’.

At first, it didn’t even occur to me that I had just discovered, goldfish with only minutes to go. Then I chuckled. With 8 minutes to go in my 24 hour manifestation challenge I found my target, without looking for it.

Coincidence? Perhaps. Some are bound to say so. All I know is I take the win. It was not in the form I expected, it was the title on a website, not the image or a real or fake one. Still, it was there none the less. You can find it if you look.

I wasn’t looking for it. I had no reason to look up the movie, but found it charming and decided I wanted to know more about the cast and director. I didn’t know 24 hours earlier that I would be doing any of this when I chose goldfish as my target.

Sure it can be a coincidence. Nothing wrong with that either, if that is what it is. All I know is that within my 24 hour window a specific request or directive was met in an unusual and unexpected way. I think that is cool and I got what I asked for.

I think the world is a large enough, magnificent place, where we don’t know how everything works. We don’t have to know how it works, we still don’t understand electricity. Heck, I don’t understand how most things work. A TV remote, as another  example.

What I do know was I set an intention. I wanted to in some fashion have goldfish come into my awareness within 24 hours without me actively searching to find it.  My job isn’t to force it my job is to allow it. Put the intention out there and see what shows up if anything.

Win! Celebration is the name of this game. I’m delighted. Next!” Rex Sikes

Today’s Mandate!

“Make today about you and loved ones. Make it a special day. Do something wonderful for you and family or a friend. Live a little. laugh a little, love a lot. Have fun, let go. Just because you can.

Let today be a day of rest and enjoyment. Allow delight and celebration to fill your moments for no reason. Simply relax and do nothing but special things for yourself. Make it a treat day.

Gift yourself. Gift your loved one. Accept from others too. Expect good things. Look for good things. Let them happen. Smile more. Turn of f the TV, let go of media, connect in person face to face.

Talk, share, read a book. Take a bath. Get a massage. Have a special get together or a meal. Go for a walk or a ride. See some thing new. Go somewhere you have wanted to go Be with another or be alone.

Live. Laugh. Love. Let Go and enjoy today for no reason but that you can. Be kind to yourself and to others.” Rex Sikes

Manifesting Miracles Challenge 101

“I’d like to point something out about the 24 hour Manifestation Challenge I spoke of in my last post. I know that many will think my finding 100 dollars was coincidence or synchronicity. It well may be. That doesn’t matter.

I shared the example hopefully, so some would understand that while I was at home, doing nothing, nothing seemed to be happening. This makes perfect sense. It wasn’t until I got out and took some actions that I discovered the bill.

My point is to sit home and wish for changes is hoping that somehow magically circumstances change and you are magically delivered the object of your desire. You can chant for gold or you can mine for gold. I think mining will get you there faster.

Make Your Own Magic

Mining and chanting together may get you there even quicker and easier because you have the appropriate mindset to discover it faster. It may be more inspiring and fun. You have a great attitude and the energy to do what it takes.

Manifesting is active creation. You and I, the creators are responsible for what we create. It means we have a dominant chief aim we focus on. We become passionate about it. Believe we deserve it and will have it. Then we do whatever positive actions are required to get it.

It doesn’t mean sitting there wishing and dreaming and hoping that it somehow shows up in our lap. Having said all this, I am still open to the possibility that things can and may work in ways none of us can understand, figure out or predict. There may be miracles and blessings and magic. Who knows? What do you believe?

I just don’t rely on those. I am open to them and embrace them. I do think if you want transformation you have to make it happen. You create it. You ask, you knock, you seek and you find. It is proactive! Even the word create implies you do something. So does the word attract.

Those Who Don’t Believe In Magic Will Never Find It

You attract or create what you focus on. THAT is the key.

You don’t actually get what you want. Nope, that is what we tell you do to; focus on what you want.  You actually GET what you focus on. So you’d better focus on what you want if that is what you want to get. Sadly, too many people are focused on what they don’t want and what they prefer to avoid so they keep getting more of the same.

What you hold in your mind you can hold in your hand. What you think about you bring about. Whether it is positive or negative, whether you want it or don’t want it; you get what you focus on.  You become what you think about. Remember? You should!

THAT is WHY it IS important to focus on WHAT YOU WANT. Focus on what is is positive and good. Otherwise, you will get anything else by default. Worse yet, you will get precisely what you want you don’t want. What you fear, worry about or want to avoid.

So make sure what you are focused on most of the time is what you want more of! Okay?

I think this next point is important too. It has to do with being grateful, finding blessings and feeling blessed. Anything can and is a blessing. A blessing is whatever you want to be a blessing. Remember, this too! We can find plenty to feel good about!

Until Further Notice Celebrate Everything

Even though I stayed at home working there was plenty to be grateful for or take as a signal. I had a great time at work.  Lot’s of productivity and flow. It was a delightful day. Twice during the day my daughter came in and we had lengthy, positive, connecting loving conversations, which surpass finding a 100 dollars any day. Any day!

Not only that but the 100 I found was money I had lost weeks before. It was weathered and In the same bank envelop with my receipt in it. I didn’t mention this yesterday but my loss turned out to be my gain in more ways than one. Surprise! What I thought lost was found!

The point is blessings are everywhere. Blessings can be anything we call blessings. Live expecting to be blessed and you will find them. Live expecting to be cursed and you will too. Your brain doesn’t care whether you think positive or negative it merely delivers whatever you focus on.

Wake Up With The Thought Something Wonderful Will Happen

Blessings abound but you have to seek and you have to find. You must do something to discover them. You must do something to create them. If nothing else, you at least have to look. I think it is wonderful to take inventory and count them daily!

Unexpected good is awesome. Life is abundant. Never say never, not even to magic. Be open and anything is possible. Believe and you will find. There is so much truth in this. Our expectations shape our perceptions. If we believe we will be blessed in unexpected ways IT IS FAR more likely than if we don’t believe it. Be open! Allow for it!

You will find it the more you let go of prior conditioning, blames, excuses, attributions of responsibility on others, events or circumstances. Let go and be open. There is so much more good going on than our little brains and minds can even begin to comprehend. To get even a taste, a glimpse, a sliver, is magnificent.

There Is Always Something To Celebrate And Be Thankful For

We have been discussing beliefs for a while in posts now so notice magic, coincidence, synchronicity, attraction, creation, we have beliefs around these. Is it possible or not? Easy or hard? It is up to you. Whatever you decide your brain will seek to prove.

Live with power. Find your power. Discover that which you are already. You are completely resourceful, optimistic, positive and powerful. Live fully, with passion and enthusiasm and fun. Delight and celebrate everything.

Whether or not there is magic, know this, you are magic. You are more magical and powerful than you have ever imagined. I hope you discover it soon. BUT, whenever you discover it that will be the right time for you!” Rex Sikes

What To Do When Life Is Tough And You Don’t Like It!

“Know this. Some days you are up and on top of the world. Some days you aren’t. Sometimes, things may come along and knock the wind out of your sails. Some days may just seem to drag. Some suck! All of it is what is. That is what is going on.

If you fight it, well you know the saying; what you resist persists, and it is true. If you push back you spend your energy in a fight. Then you get more of what you are focused on; push back. You get more resistance. If you don’t want more of the same yuckiness, what to do?

I say, throw your arms up and surrender. It is what it is! That is what the waitress brought you. Yuckiness on your dinner plate. You can get sad, you can get mad, you can fight her, it, and the establishment, you can threaten, you can blame, you can whine but that is what was served up. Do you really want to do all the rest of that to yourself?

What You Resist Persists

Hopefully not. So don’t! Understand that is what you got and let it go. Drop it, at least as best as you are able. Any time you are tempted to return to it think something else. FOR GOODNESS SAKE don’t talk about it to everyone all day long either. You only keep the bad news alive that much longer. Don’t perpetuate it!

It was what it was. Let it go. It is already in the past an instant later. You were served what you didn’t want. OKAY! Be bigger than it. Don’t reduce yourself to that person in public griping that no one likes. ORDER something else for yourself! You didn’t get what you want, you got slop instead of savory, ORDER something else!

Whenever you may realize you got caught up, got hooked and are fighting the flow, resisting what is, in that instance, drop it. Let it go and focus on what you would prefer instead of what is causing discomfort. To argue over what causes discomfort will only make you more uncomfortable.

You Go Where Your Thought Take You

If you feel you have to be right, put another person in their place, teach them a lesson, well, most likely you won’t and they will only resent you more afterwards. None of us like self-righteousness, even when it may be appropriate. SO give them and the world and you a break.

Cut everyone and yourself some slack. Ease off. Back up, stop, and move forward new and afresh. Going down the wrong road further won’t undo the mistake already made. Stop, turn around, change direction and head towards where you want to go. Heck, laugh it off.

Probably, the best response you can have when you catch yourself being an idiot is to laugh. Not at yourself or anyone else; you wouldn’t want to do that. Let it go and just laugh  at how ridiculous it is to fight what is. There is the saying, no use beating a dead horse. Sorry for that but it is illustrative.

It Is What It Is

Okay, better one, no use crying over spilt milk. OR it is water over the damn. What is IS! What is done is done! Move on from that moment cleanly. The only way to successfully do that is to drop it. Accept it and go on. My favorite analogy and teaching example of going with the flow in our modern age, is traffic.

The zen of not driving or not caring is learned in traffic. You can’t push it but you can try. When stuck and surrounded there is no where to go, so relax you can’t change it until it changes. LET IT GO. That person that cut you off they are already ahead of you leave them be. That person who gave you the finger, bless them; returning it my make you feel right but won’t make you feel much better.

Yes, traffic is the perfect place to let it all go and learn to surrender to what is. Use it to enjoy. Yes, you will be late, but that is what is. You may be reprimanded, docked or fired. Leave earlier next time. It is what it is. Use whatever happens to learn to not react out of anger, or fight or flight, but to let go, accept and respond more appropriately.

Realize You Always Have Choice Even When You Think You Don’t

Celebrate and be grateful you are able to. Celebrate and affirm how wonderful you are. You have all this extra time for yourself to chant your positive mantras in the car or listen to positive motivational audios. Use it wisely rather than loosing your cool. Steer back to positive thinking and feeling good and you will have learned something useful.

If you steer back each time, as best as possible, you are developing a positive habit. Whenever you encounter something less than glorious, something you don’t like and wouldn’t choose for yourself, you are returning to what is good, positive and enjoyable.

You seek a better alternative. Soon you will do it automatically, reliably and habitually. What a wonderful tradeoff. You learned to make your life more grand by default. SO use your not so good times to create better times ahead. Be grateful you can. Celebrate it all and you will live a life of true, absolute celebration!” Rex Sikes
