What To Do When Unexpected Challenges Arise And You Feel Fear

“My blog today is in response to comment left yesterday. It is a piece of a puzzle. It is a first step in a journey. It is a morsel of food in the meal you eat. Without knowing specifics (this is not a request to know) the suggestions I have are general. Absolutely valuable and applicable anytime, but still general.

It may not be what the individual needs to read or hear at this time, and the person may be better served seeking answers elsewhere from someone in person.

Still, the principles are applicable to all of us in our quest for a more wonderful life so I wrote in reply, actually to all of us. Each of us face challenges, hopefully, this will encourage.

The reader commented, and I am always happy when readers comment. When someone reaches out, or shares insight, loves or hates something it is good to know. That is WHY there IS a comment section so you can LEAVE comments!

Here is the comment:

‘I’m facing an unexpected and very challenging situation. And I do feel fear. I agree with what you have written, but my path seems unclear to me. I want peace and a stable situation. (And I have re-written this 9 different ways)……Changing my thoughts will change my actions and change the situation.’

First,  I wish you the best. I am glad you commented. You are doing for yourself and working to make it work for you. That is excellent.

It is not uncommon to feel fear from an unexpected and challenging situation. That is quite normal. It is what we do as humans.

Getting clear about your path is what you do want to do.  When confronted with obstacles we may not know what to do or where to go. Still, in order to journey onward we first need to clarify where we want to end up. Otherwise, we may or may not make any progress.

How would we know if we were progressing if we don’t know where our destination is? Plus, it is important that we make certain we are focused on where we want to go to or end up.

Circumstances can be challenging and difficult, for certain. The learning we all need to acquire is to notice the circumstances but not focus on them. Stop giving the circumstances your attention and energy. Decide what you want instead, not what you do not want.

When you repeat,  ‘Changing my thoughts will change my actions and change the situation.’ while accurate notice what your attention is on. Change the situation. You want to change your thoughts and actions in order to change the situation.

How might you phrase your affirmation to put the emphasis on what you want instead of focusing on the situation? That is where you need to put you emphasis or focus. Think about what you want. Also affirm what you want to feel.

For example, ‘I am calm’; ‘I am confident’; ‘I am able to learn to do anything I put my mind to’; ‘I have peace of mind’; ‘I feel joy’. Whatever you want to think, feel and be. Simply put whatever you want to be after ‘I am’ or ‘I have’ or ‘I feel’. Present tense.

You might also ask Directed Questions™: ‘I wonder how soon I can discover myself easily find more peace and joy throughout today?’ In how many ways will I be delighted and amazed to feel my confidence growing in leaps and bounds?”

You can use what it is you don’t want to help you clarify what it is you do want. Make sure you know what you want and then imagine what you want fully. Whatever it is use your imagination and imagine all the positive good you want to have. Imagine it as though you already have it. It has happened. It is yours.

You want your energy to go where you want. That is why you place you attention on what you want. The work is to keep the attention on the good you want to create and positively have. It takes practice. It does take discipline but anyone can learn to do it in time.

The secret is keeping it there. Going back and forth from feeling positive and confident to doubtful and fearful is what keeps us stuck. We need to overwhelmingly feel positive and confident. We need our focus to be on the good most of the time. Of course, everyone has a negative thought.

As soon as you notice the negative thought or feeling steer it back to positive. Two things happen. One is this is the training we all need. The ability to control and steer our mind and get it to serve us instead of being out master is the skill we need to develop. Two it will make the difference. You will be more positive more of the time!

Make sure what you want is a win/win for you and everyone; wonderful and positive! Place your focus on this. You may not know how to bring it about yet but stay focused on what you want to create. The good you want to create is the good you focus on and imagine throughout the day. This is what you can create!

Feel the good feelings that come with the good you desire. If the world were perfect and your situation resolved and you were your ideal self, being, doing and having what you want how would you feel?

Those are the feelings you want to have more of. Those are the feeling you want to savor and bask in when you think about your destination.

Those are the feelings you want to spend time with. Day and night, and as often as you can, think of the good, see it in your mind’s eye and feel the marvelous feelings. As long as you win and others with there is no disharmony.

What we think about we bring about! If we concentrate on avoiding what we don’t want we just get more of the same. If we focus on what we DO want to create for ourselves we get more of that.

Even though you may not know how it will come about this is what you concentrate on. You think, have faith and affirm that everything will work out for good even though you don’t have any idea how. It is okay not to know how. It really is.

We all need to learn to do this. It is similar to planting a seed. It grows where we can’t see it grow at first, underground. The results of our decision, to focus on the good we want to create, is at first invisible.

We must keep the faith that ultimately everything will work out and that we will be able to behave resourcefully. It isn’t magic or wishing. It is the application of principles that changes the course of our future.

If you decide you want to take boat across the sea to a distant land you have to know where you are going. You determine where you want to end up and you go there. If storms come up along the way you have to navigate through, or around them and get back on course, to get to your destination.

When you focus and believe in yourself you marshall your inner resources. When challenged it is the opportunity to learn lessons and discover the very best within you. The key is to not give up or lose faith. Believe in yourself. Affirm you can do this!

In your present circumstances you may need to find someone who has already navigated the troubled waters, someone who can positively mentor you because they have been there and gone through that and come out the other side successfully. Someone in your area whom you can rely on, confide in and trust. If you need help or assistance reach out.

Inside you is an internal GPS. It knows all the routes and has all the answers you need to get where you want to go. You have the resources to make positive changes, even though you may not be aware that you do, and yet, that can being to easily clear up.

As you keep positive and keep faith in your own inner abilities you may find yourself discovering more of what you need to know in order to move ahead confidently and safely. Trust in yourself to make the wisest choices even though you don’t know what these are yet. Believe in you!

Attitude makes a big difference. This may be just what you look back on some day and are thankful for. If you can cultivate that attitude while going through it you are ahead of the game.

The opportunity to grow and develop comes from adversity. The statement, ‘the kite rises against the wind’ is applicable. Challenge will help you grow in the long run and you will learn a lot from the situation about yourself and your resourcefulness.

I hope, my words help. Understand I have little to go on and I can’t, no one can, solve anything for you. That is up to each individual to do for oneself. I hope, though, in some small way, I can encourage you to stay strong and take everything lightly.

Put into practice the principles you have been learning. Fill your mind each day with positive, inspirational material. Read and listen to positive books and audios. Fill your mind with ‘can do’ messages. Find positive people to encourage and support you.

Manage your self talk and speak only to bless, heal and prosper. Visualize what you want, as already discussed, and grow your faith in your ability to have a positive present and future. Find things to celebrate and appreciate in areas of life, even in the challenges.

Be the victor of the circumstances. Decide to prevail against troubles and to create more love, joy and happiness for all. Determine to live as a champion and stay positive and confident. You will as you keep your focus on what you want to create! It works. It does work. It is YOU who makes it work!” Rex Sikes

PS I wrote this response, then just as I went to publish, it occurs to me that, perhaps, you weren’t looking for a reply. If I made an incorrect assumption I apologize. I say this because I realize that not everyone wants someone to reply, sometimes we just wish to be heard or listened to. Sometimes we just want a hug.

Want To Have An Incredible Life? Then Learn What These People Already Know!

“Some people just live differently than others! They let nothing deter them from enjoying life. It is amazing and inspiring! It has to do with their beliefs and attitude. How would you respond to the following? What do you think about this and how it may apply to your life?

To lose a limb or the ability to walk or move would be devastating. Life crushing. I do not wish it on anyone. Yet, there have been people throughout time who have suffered tremendous accidents, lost body parts or were paralyzed, BUT continue to live as blessed. They live differently from the rest.

Recently, they made a movie of the surfer girl who lost her arm in a shark attack. She continues to surf. Others, with similar circumstances have been in the news. Sometimes, we see people who suffer greatly continue to suffer greatly.

Other times, we see people who express gratitude at being alive. For these, they seem to say, ‘life is an adventure. I did it with two arms now I do it with one. It doesn’t matter, great to be alive!’

They don’t let a challenge stop them.  It must be a major adjustment, still, some seem to never miss a beat. They go right on living cheerfully. Young, old, rich or poor, that doesn’t seem to matter.

I have used an example to explain some of this. This example, pales by comparison but I present it, and then another one, as food for thought. Although, I think these considerations are already enough of a meal.

How people maintain an incredible positive attitude in the face of life changing experiences is definitely worth learning and applying. Ok, my example, two people go to a movie and sit side by side. The movie ends, one loved it the other hated it.

Both express opinions. It seems as if these have something to do with the movie when actually their opinions reveal much about them; who they are and what they pay attention to.

After all, it is the same movie. Both individuals sat through it but had a different experience of it. It can’t be the movie. It must be about them!

Two people are in a terrible car crash but survive and are not badly injured. One is filled with fear and speaks repeatedly about how the accident was terrible and how close to being killed he was.

The other is thankful to have lived through a huge ordeal and speaks of being lucky or blessed or protected he feels. Same experience two different reactions. Two separate, independent outlooks. Do you think their outlook has anything to do with how they live their lives?

Some people blame the economy for their problems saying they just can’t get ahead. Others during that very same economy make a ton of money and state if it hadn’t been for the economy they’d have never discovered how to make so much money.

Pretty much we are all the same. We have different experiences and programming as we grow. We still live in the same world. It appears how we respond to the world and circumstances has everything to do with what we believe.

Our thoughts, our attitude determine how we live our lives. What we think determines our world and our opportunity or our disadvantage. It is mindset more than anything else!

Some people face tremendous odds and let nothing stop them or ruin their day. Some people are born with, what we call, challenges but excel more than others born without challenges. Some seem to buckle at the smallest provocation.

I prefer to think of living life without seeing walls that stop me. I prefer thinking of what I can do instead of what I can’t. I’d much rather be optimistic and positive and live happily and fully than anything else. I’d like to think most other people do too.

I am not certain any one knows how they will respond until faced with an obstacle. I think what they think and believe, makes a difference. If a big challenge comes there way are they prepared to handle it?

Some believe in an outer god; some a personal god; some believe in an inner god or divinity; some believe in no god; that doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Whatever else they believe in sure seems to make an incredible difference. What they think about themselves, their ability to live happily, handle difficulty, enjoy life, and the nature of the universe seems to make an incredible difference.

What would you do? How would you move forward? Is the glass half empty or half full? I think these examples, of what some might call courage, are a testimony to the awesome power of the human mind and spirit.

Their attitude certainly seems to determine their altitude. What do you think? What if you could learn, what these few people know, that makes them live their lives incredibly different from the rest of the people? Would you like to learn to live like this? If you could learn it would you?

There are people who choose to not let anything prevent them from enjoying this life to the fullest. They live as they wish no matter what happens to them or around them. They live as champions and victors over circumstances.

They continue to live joyfully. They consider the journey a marvelous adventure. This is wonderful and inspiring. It is absolutely possible that any one of us, all of us, can find the power within to be able to celebrate no matter what! When we are truly able to feel blessed regardless of circumstances then  life is transformation and we are incredibly rich in all ways.” Rex Sikes

How To Have The Energy You Want And Need Anytime!

“When it comes to having more energy or enough energy there is a secret. Yes, you can eat right and exercise right to feel more alive. This is important. Yet, there is something about energy you need to know and understand. You have all the energy you need at any time!

While you may balk at that statement it is accurate. Your body is not suffering from lack of energy you simply aren’t releasing or utilizing the energy you have properly. Proper breathing can help you to discover this.

I am not going to discuss, nutrition, exercise or breath work in this post. I am going to share with you another reliable approach to unlocking what is within you. Consider this for a moment: what happens to you when you get some really, great, life altering news?

Energy Begets Energy

Someone you love tells you they are going to get married, have a baby or you won some wonderful prize? What happens when you get some form of glad tidings? You get glad, right? You get excited, enthused, eager. You are happy and positive.

While it may seem like the news caused it, actually it didn’t. You released the enthusiasm and happiness. In an instant! One moment you felt one way in an instant you felt filled with joy! Perhaps, you did a high five, a chest bump, a happy dance, or hugged. You celebrated the news!

Now consider this: you had this burst, this release, this positive moment because you were excited by what you heard or saw, or read or… Your state changed, your being changed. I know you have had moments like this because we all have. It is called being human.

The More You Have The More You Get

You may have to search your memory to recall but if you are honest you know this is accurate. Before you go off into, ‘yeah but’, if that is something you typically do, stop and recall the moment. Fully live it for a while, if you are able. Enjoy it. Notice in doing this you may actually feel some or all of those very same feelings.

Isn’t that cool? Whenever we recall a marvelous state OR for that matter a less than glorious one we tend to feel the same way. It’s true. Think about the person who had an incident in traffic in the morning with an ‘ass’ and how each time they tell it throughout the day and into the evening they continue to get really mad.

The incident is past in the outer world but alive in the inner. Our neurology works this way. We feel part or all of a past prior experience through vivid recall. This is why remembering sad events make us sad or cry and why remembering happy ones cause us to feel the happy. It’s mind/body memory. It’s our neural pathways.

The More You Do The More You Can Do

Our thoughts make a huge difference. If you want to feel more energy and more alive then you must think the thoughts that release that in you. What we think about we bring about. We can change our emotional states by changing what we think about.

We change how we feel and what we can do and accomplish by changing our thinking to serve us. Your thoughts should serve you. You should not be a servant to your thoughts. Remember this! Now, if you want more energy do the following. Get excited! Get eager!

You must be enthused about yourself, the day, what you are doing, who you are seeing. You must get excited and be eager and happy. Thought precedes action and feeling. People can tell what you are thinking by your outside demeanor. You can tell if another person is positive or negative, happy or sad, a winner or a loser by looking.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Take You

Okay, it really isn’t fair to judge or call names but it is true, isn’t it? You can tell if someone has something going for him or her or not. It is based on the inner life that is reflected. The look in the eye. The carriage or the body, the movements, the sound of voice. Tell tale signs, body language, reveal the inner life.

Anytime you want to release energy get excited about something inside. Another way, is to each day, vigorously, out loud (in private) shout, chant, enthusiastically repeat your positive affirmations. You can look in the mirror for extra oomph! The military understands this and it is a huge part of their training and conditioning.

Chant your mantras out loud. ‘I feel wonderful! I am incredible! Life is great! I can do anything! I am capable and confident! Life is grand! Everything always works out for the best!’ Those are just samples you have your own. You do this five or ten minutes, or do it on your commute to work in your car and you will feel different.

The Results You Get, Your Feelings, Reveal Your Thinking

Do this at least two times a day for no less than 30 days and you will find your life changing. It is said a lie repeated enough becomes substituted for the truth. Even if you don’t believe it at first you do it loud enough, long enough, and you will. You will change your conditioning and what you believe is possible.

To be successful you need to make things an automatic reliable positive habit. You need to replace the habits that limit you or cause you to have lackluster results. If you want more energy you can instantly have it. IF you don’t believe it do the exercise I just suggested for at least 30 days. Then evaluate. BUT do it fully and completely!

If you want things in your life to change you must change things in your life. You must shake it up and loosen the hold the old thinking has on you. Then replace it with positive, powerful, productive, new thinking that supports and encourages you in getting what you want. Thought comes first. You want energy you can have it!

Transformation Happens The Instant You Make A Decision

You already have it. Unleash the energy within you. While you are at it unleash your inner genius and inner power. Unleash your inner charm and charisma. Unleash your inner confidence. You think you lack anything you do not! It is there inside you wanting to get out, hidden, kept captive, by layers of old thinking and behaving.

You can let it out and change your world. You can transform yourself from a can’t do person to a can do one! You can dream big and make your dreams come true. You can walk the planet as a victor and champion. Others will look and take notice. Or you can remain the same. The choice is yours! Decided today!” Rex Sikes

The Secret Is To Make The World Conform To Your Ideal

“How do we make things happen? How do we create? How do we manifest? How do we attract good things to us? Let’s explore what Neville Goddard had to say about this today. It is quite profound.

He said:  ‘Master it and make your world conform to the ideal you want to experience.’

I love this! Make the world conform to your experience. Our upbringing is just the opposite. We are taught how to experience the world and that outer factors determine what happens to us.

You Determine What Is And What Will Be

Whether it is a good or bad day depends on the weather, the stock market, the parents or children, the boss, spouse, the clerk at the store.

Make the world conform to your experience. The outer conform to the inner. Yes, it is time we begin to think this way much more! Oh wait, I love the next part. Especially, cool!

‘Stop thinking of, and start thinking from.’

WOW consider that. Stop thinking of and start thinking from. Stop thinking of your dream as off in the future but think of it as right now. It is in your present. Already fulfilled.  Some day never arrives but now is right here.

Napoleon Hill said, ‘If you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it’. Imagine that for a second. Whatever you can conceive and believe you can achieve. You wouldn’t be able to imagine it if it were not possible. Make the impossible, possible now.

Stop Thinking Some Day And Start Thinking Already Done

The Wright Brothers wanted to fly and so they did. As far as we know it had never been done before. They imagined doing it and they did it. We made it to the moon because someone thought it possible.

‘All things are possible to him who believes, therefore learn the art of believing and persuade yourself it is true.’ Neville says. The Bible says, ‘all things are possible’ to the person who believes.

We have been brought up believing the outside dictates the inner when in fact, the truth is the exact opposite. The inner determines the outside results.

What you have going on right now, your circumstances, are merely the result of your previous thinking. If you don’t like your circumstances it is time to change you thinking. Wouldn’t you agree?

Believe It Is Possible And Open The Door To What Can Be

Neville continues: ‘One day a friend told me that when she was a child, her father would say: “If you have but a dollar and it was necessary for you to spend it, do so as if it were a dry leaf, and you the owner of a boundless forest.”

If one really knows how to pray, he could spend his dollar and then reproduce it again. You see, this world is brought into being by man’s imagination, so it is very important to learn the secret of prayer. ‘

How cool is that. The world is brought into being by man’s imagination. We know this is accurate. Thought precedes action. All human invention was first an idea.

We have created the world we live in from our thoughts. Tomorrow will be based on the ideas we have today. Where else do inventions come from? Everything that is from humans originates in the mind.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You

‘If you are still desiring, stop it right now! Ask yourself what it would be like, were your desire a reality. How would you feel if you were already the one you would like to be?

The moment you catch that mood, you are thinking from it. And the great secret of prayer is thinking from, rather than thinking of.’

Imagine the end result. Imagine the good we desire as already ours, already manifested. See, hear and feel it as having already happened and FEEL how marvelous it feels as a result. Live the end result in your minds and feel the incredible feelings.

You Will Be Where Your Thoughts Take You

‘Anchored here, you know where you live, your bank balance, job, creditors, friends, and loved ones – as you are thinking from this state. But you can move to another state and give it the same sense of reality, when you find and practice the great secret of prayer. ‘

When you move to that other reality you find that other reality is how things work. It may be difficult to believe because we have believed the other way for so long. Our beliefs determine whether we can or can’t whether we will or won’t.

So said, Henry Ford. ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t you are right’. Remember, the RAS proves it to be.

We think the outside controls us. The one thing humans can absolutely control is their thoughts and the mind. We can control what we focus on. We can control our decisions.

We are, we can be, and we definitely should be. Become the master your fate and the captain of your soul. It is within us and within our control. It is within you. Start living it.

Act As If Everything Already Is Completed

Imagine ‘from’ not ‘of’. Imagine and live ‘from’!  Consider this: If everything were perfect how would you feel? Imagine that. If you had the perfect life, the perfect you, what would it, what would you, look like, sound like and feel like? Most importantly, what would you be feeling?

Live most of your day with those wonderful feelings and you can make your dreams reality. Live feeling the end result and you will bring it about.

The Easiest And Quickest Way To Make Your Life Wonderful!

“If you could find a way to easily make all of your life wonderful you would do it, wouldn’t you? If there was one simple thing to remember to do each day you’d do it, right?

If it meant making a huge difference for how much you enjoyed your experience would you put it into practice and apply it? You may have heard it before but unless you are actively applying it, you are missing out.

What is it you can do that will have such a great effect? It is the practice of gratitude for every thing. It is actively appreciating all aspects of your life and continuing to do it. Here is what to do:

You Got To Accentuate The Positive

Find, validate and repeat the validation for things, people, circumstances, events, and belongings, you are grateful for because this practice reinforces it. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Celebrate everything you can find to be grateful about over and over again. It builds the habit of finding good things, and feeling good about them. You get back more of what you put out!

As you do this you spend more time feeling good and grateful. What you focus on expands so your own brain will help you find and make connections to other things you can appreciate too.

Remember, the Reticular Activating System (RAS), looks to match the outer with what you have going on inside. It’s job is to provide you evidence for what you already believe on the inside.

Good taste dictates that you believe and think wonderful thoughts on the inside. You find more and more. Like attracts like. Birds of a feather flock together. In finding more your feel better and better.

The More We Do The Easier It Becomes And The More We Can Do

Pretty good deal, if you ask me. You begin to find areas to be grateful about things you perviously might never have considered. Your ability to look, find, consider, validate and celebrate expands even more. You get better at it and build a reliable skill.

The more you find to appreciate the more you transform every aspect of your life, past and present. By living in gratitude and celebration you open the doorway and floodgates of the future.

Life, for you, becomes a celebration. When you live thinking and feeling this way you get back more of what you have. Remember, like attracts like and birds of a feather… You live in increase!

You create and attract a most marvelous life. When outer events throw you curve balls, at any time, you are more prepared and resourceful to respond in positive and powerful ways.

Perfect Practice Repeated Again And Again Makes Perfect

Because you have emphasized and practiced feeling grateful, because you have made it a habit, it automatically works for you. You really do become what you think about.

Remember, what they recommend on shampoo bottles. ‘Wash, rinse and repeat’. The practice for your good mental health and well being is the same in essence. Cleanse your mind with appreciation and repeat then do it again.

Then repeat and repeat and repeat. Rehearse the skill you want to develop as an actor does. Practice the skill again and again, drill it, as an athlete does.

Act as if you are already living the life you want, in your mind, and that life can become yours. What you think about you bring about. Fill your mind with all the positive good you can find and focus on it.

If most of your thoughts, most of your time are celebrations if most of your time is spent thinking and feeling grateful you transform your life into a life most grand. Use the 80/20 rule. Think 80% positive!

Luck Is The Crossroad Where Preparation And Opportunity Meet

You continue to find blessings because that is how your mind and being now operates. When you are optimistic and happy your mind works clearer and better. You’ll only discover this through application.

You will find more opportunity and advantages than you can ever imagine. Your brain will look to match the good things on the outside with those you imagine on the inside. That is its job!

What have you done and learned in doing this? That you can and that you did take charge of your mind and control of your thoughts. Your entire life improves because you made and effort and followed through.

Your Entire Life Can Absolutely Transform If You Just Do This!

“Transformation is by far the easiest thing that I have ever done. I never would have thought that would be the case but it truly is. Many people don’t change simply because they believe it to be too difficult. It is not. It is easier than you might believe.

Transformation is worth far more than anything you can imagine!

I’ve been sharing about beliefs in recent pages. Our beliefs either serve us or they don’t. Unfortunately, many of us grew up and got used to thinking less than productive thoughts for ourselves. The good news is those thoughts and beliefs can be changed easily. In order to make the changes you want you do need to act.

You need to initiate the transformation.

You And Your Life Are What You Predominantly Think About

Within these very blog pages I have written it is not easy but it is simple. I do this because it does require something and if you are going to go for it then you should understand you have a role to play. You have something to do. That something is simple. All you have to do is monitor your feelings.

Whenever you notice you are feeling less than glorious or could use an attitude adjustment do it. DO anything positive that makes you feel a bit better. Do something good that puts you heading emotionally in the right direction. Change you thoughts, go for a walk, relax, read an inspirational book, play with a pet but do something nice that makes you feel better.

Change Is Far Easier Than You May Have Ever Imagined

While this may not seem easy at first it get easier. It is very simple. Repeat your positive affirmations and put your mind on what is positive. The only reason it may seem difficult at first is because you haven’t yet made it a habit. You are busy doing what you have aways done that doesn’t work. Once you change it your life and world changes!

It changes from the very first honest decision you make to do this. Everything begins changing the instant you decide. You begin to marshall your inner resources whether or not you think so. In the act or truly deciding you start change right then! The process begins. You became purposeful, at cause and intentional. You decided things would be different. AND so the shall be.

In Order To Begin Transforming You Must Decide To Begin

This is a wonderful beginning step! When you think about it you either decided to or not to transform. There really isn’t a middle ground. Either you are stuck or unstuck. You use these types of opposites to monitor your feelings. Think of it this way. Things are  either good or bad; right or wrong; hot or cold; positive or negative; There is either increase or decrease. Getting closer or further away.

Your feelings are a signal for whatever you are thinking. If you begin to think negative thoughts your feelings will change and feel less wonderful. You’ll feel more discomfort. If you are thinking about problems or lack or what’s wrong or what you want to avoid you won’t feel on top of the world. MAJOR SIGNAL HERE to change your thoughts and feelings.

Your Feelings Are A Signal That Your Thoughts Need Changing

Once you notice you make the shift. You think positive thoughts. You shift your body and feelings by doing some of the suggestions I made earlier. Your goal is to feel  better bit by bit. Incrementally is absolutely fine. You change your focus from what is wrong to what is right, to what you can appreciate right now. You think increase instead of decrease.

You focus on what’s good not what’s bad. You shift from the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings to the pleasant positive ones. You do this whenever you notice you are off course. By doing this you train yourself to shift your focus and feelings. One day, soon enough, this begins happening on its own.

You discover yourself automatically returning to what is positive and productive. You begin to find you spend much more time there naturally. As you do life changes. Things get better. You enjoy everything much more. It grows exponentially. You open up, the world becomes friendly. Things change in marvelous ways.

You Are Either Being Positive Or Negative – That Is Simple

As you change and make the adjustments back to the positive you will notice your beliefs changing. You will be delighted and surprised to find some seem to shift on their own. Others you may confront and decide they are worn out and need replacing with healthier more positive ones. Transformation is exciting this way.

There comes a tipping point where the momentum for positive change accelerates. Things come together quicker, easier, seemingly spontaneously. Birds of a feather flock together. Your thoughts and feelings improve and you feel wonderful so you get more of the same. You find situations changing for the better and life getting easier.

If things are tough you respond differently and more resourcefully. Obstacles no longer derail you. Because you are thinking and feeling positive you attract positive people who can help you. The results you get start improving. Everything changes in marvelous ways.

It is worth every effort. Even if it were far more difficult it would be worth it. It is simple and it is easy. When you decide to  go for it you change what you focus on. What you focus on is what you get. Remember, we become what we think about. Think wonderful positive thoughts and you feel better and you become more wonderful and positive. My Life Absolutely Transformed When I Decided This!

My life absolutely transformed when I decided I was no longer going to focus on what I don’t want or want to avoid and concentrate instead only on what I do want.

Yes, I don’t want wars but instead I focus on peace. Yes, I don’t want poverty but instead focus on wealth creation.

Yes, I don’t want many things but instead of focusing on the problem, once identified, I prefer to focus on the solution.

That is what we are after most anyway. Life is good!

My life absolutely changed for the better when I stopped thinking and saying ‘I can’t’ and decided to say ‘I can’, instead!

My life absolutely transformed when I stopped thinking and saying ‘Somebody ought to do something’, and started thinking and saying ‘I ought to do something’.

When I learned to take control of my own thought process everything in my life got better!

My life transformed in glorious ways when I decided I wasn’t a victim or survivor of my past but that I am, and could live as, a champion. I could be a victor in every way.

My life changed wonderfully when I opened the possibility for thinking positive instead of thinking habitually negative or mere lack luster thinking.

My life transformed positively when I decided to take 100% responsibility for all of my life past and present as well as for my future.

I decided I was a creator and attractor. I recognized that I choose. I decide. When I realized I was deciding all along, even when I didn’t think I was, or when I wanted to blame someone else, I came into incredible power.

My life transformed when I realized my feelings were a signal as to what I was paying attention to in my mind.

When I decided I was going to live feeling the best I could at any moment is when miracles began happening in my life!

Simple moments became auspicious moments.

My life transformed delightfully when I decided to put my energies into what I am grateful for. When I filled the day and each moment with gratefulness beauty became evident.

Suddenly, everything became perfectly okay and as it should be!

My live transformed incredibly when I learned how to better let go and drop weight I need not carry.

When I learned how to stop resisting and start allowing life because so much easier. Flow happened and I started to enjoy it so much more.

My life transformed in amazing ways when I learned how to forgive myself and others.

When I could shower others with love and not hold anything against them so many relationships changed.

My life transformed when I transformed my life. I transformed me and everything transformed after that.

Life is good. Life is great. Life is grand!

I believe any one of these practices will transform your life too in incredible ways. You can transform in ways that you may not even be able to begin to fully imagine yet.

Pick one and put it into practice. Soon it will lead to the others.

There is no reason to not be absolutely happy in life and with life. To feel happy is a choice we make. Choose to be happy and you can be. Choose to be happy and you  will be. What you get is completely up to you. It is up to you. Celebrate and enjoy!” Rex Sikes

How Can You Tell When Your Dreams Are On The Way?

“How can you tell when your dreams are on their way? How do you know when you are creating, making them happen or attracting them? Do you know? There is a way to tell. There is a clear indicator.

Your feelings are a clear indicator of what type of thoughts you are thinking. Your feelings inform you. Remember, what you think about you bring about. What you focus on expands. What you think you become.

If you are feeling good your dreams are on the way. When you are feeling good you are thinking positive, productive, powerful thoughts.  You are in creation mode, attraction mode and when feeling good you have the least resistance. You are most open and inviting.

You Are Most Open And Inviting When Feeling Positive

If you are feeling negative and less than glorious you are working against your dreams. Your feelings are a clear refection of your thoughts. If they aren’t positive and productive what would you expect to end up with?

You are least positive, least creative, and most resistance when you feel negative. You are still powerful and attracting but not the things you want. You are interfering with getting your goals and dreams.

Your emotions tell you whether you are moving closer to your dreams or moving away from them. Your emotions and your beliefs, your thoughts determine the results you get or don’t.

Your Reticular Activating System (RAS)  filters and determines the evidences you get back from the outer world. It ensures that the outer world will match your inner world.

You Either Move Toward Or Away 

So if you are positive and happy and feeling excited that is what you get back and what you experience in the outer world. If your inner world is dark and gloomy your outer world reflects the same. It is simple to understand how this works.

The big questions now IS DO YOU believe this? DO you believe what I just described? We have been discussing beliefs and how they affect you and your circumstances. If you do not believe it that is okay. You don’t have to.

I invite you, however, to act as if it is accurate and true. Act as if, try it on for a while, and find out what you discover. Accept it long enough to validate or invalidate it again. Does what I am asking make sense?

We know what your immediate reaction to the question is. If it is ‘no I don’t believe it’ then I ask you to suspend that for awhile, while you try on a different belief for a bit. Imagine you have a coat rack and you take off one belief as you would a suit coat and try on another one.

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

Wear it long enough to determine if it is a true fit, The reason for this is IF you aren’t happy with your current circumstances or results something is bringing them about. Perhaps, it is your thinking.

Perhaps not. You may already have an opinion. What you need instead of an opinion is an open enough mind to experiment to find out if your opinion is valid or not.

If it isn’t valid you may want to and need to make some changes. You will only know if this works well for you if you are courageous enough to try it on fully.

You Never Really Know Until You Try

To really practice it and find out whether things shift for you. You can’t really know for sure until you actually test it out. That will require an honest test.

But if you are willing to try for at least 90 days then you will have given it a decent beginning try. WHAT! you think 90 days is too long. It is the blink of an eye. But try it for 60 or at the very least 30. You do realize you need to do at least 30 days of honest, intentional trial.

What am I asking you to do? Fill your mind and being with positive, motivational material. Read and listen to positive speakers. Practice with affirmations and visualization daily.

Declare positively, powerfully with wonderfully strong enthusiastic emotions who you are and what you have. Live it for at least 30 days as optimistically as possible.

Set Up A No Whining Or Complaining Rule

If you catch yourself, whining, complaining or making excuses stop it and immediately focus on being more positive and feeling better. Try it on and find out if, at the end of the test time, you don’t feel much better and get better results beginning to come your way.

It is all up to you. Live with gratitude and celebration. Have fun and delight. Speak only to bless, heal, prosper yourself and others. Either you are moving toward feeling good or away from feeling good.

Whenever you notice you aren’t moving toward feeling good change what you are doing so that you are. Take control of your thoughts, feelings and life for a minimum of 30 days. Then evaluate. This makes the most sense to me. So go ahead, do something wonderful for yourself! You might just be surprised!” Rex Sikes

A Lie Repeated Often Enough Get’s Substituted As The Truth

We all have beliefs as you already know. Some of them are useful beliefs that support us and help us do things important to us. Other beliefs we have do just the opposite. They limit us. The interesting thing is that a belief is just a thought. A mental packet of energy.

It literally is just energy. In the body it may be chemicals and electrical impulses. Why do we have such a difficult time with some of our beliefs and behaviors if it is just electrical, chemical, energy? It would seem the answer is in the fact that these mental packs of energy are tied to our feelings.

Your Brain Is As Strong As Its Weakest Think

AND for some silly reason we think (mental energy again) if we feel a certain way, well that is it, it is written in stone. If we don’t feel like it then we just shouldn’t do it. Worse yet, if we don’t feel like it we can’t do it. Have you ever thought about this? We think some 60,000 thoughts a day most of which we thought yesterday.

We are creatures of habit. The same neural firings and pathways get activated. We routinely think and feel pretty much the same, day to day, with some obvious variations. Some things upset the apple cart pleasantly and some not so pleasantly. Something happens and we react.

Even then it is, most assuredly, the same way we usually react. After all we pretty much get mad the same way and usually about the same things. We get excited the same way and about the same things. You name it most of what we do is the same and automatic and it is all due to our electrical chemical squirts and pathways.

If You Really Want To  Do Something You’ll Find A Way

So are we doomed to live this way just because we have? For some the answer may be yes. Sadly, for some they will never opt for anything different. God love them anyways. ‘They know not what they do’. They just never wake up to the possibility that it COULD be otherwise. For them change may not even be a dream.

For others the answer is no, not at all. They can change and become whomever they want to be in life. They can do and have whatever it is they want. They can make profound positive, personal, lasting change that they enjoy now and into the future. For them change is real.

Then there are those who wish. They hope to have a better life but they do not do anything about it. The watch others succeed, have fulfilling relationship and enjoy happiness but they don’t think they can. The hope, they whine, they wish but for them it is only a dream.

If You Don’t Want To Do Something You’ll Find An Excuse

The bottom line is some will and some won’t. That is just the way it is. In the same way we have beliefs that limit us and support us. That is just the way it is. None of our beliefs are necessarily true. We think they are but the reality is they are things we believe.

Have you ever been wrong about anything, ever at all? If you are honest, then of course you have. Have your senses ever deceived you? You mistook someone for a friend? You sure thought it was her but it wasn’t. I bet you can come up with numerous examples.

The point is beliefs really are statements or assertions or declarations about ourself which don’t have to have anything with the truth. We just believe them, we believe that they do. Yes, they could have but they don’t have to have any resemblance to truth for us to have adopted and lived from them.

We Are Creatures Of Habit

That is why we believe things about ourselves that are negative, bad, harmful or limiting. We believe we are screw ups, worthless, unable to do things, bad, wrong and stupid. Why on earth would we EVER chose to believe those things about us. Guess what when we do we feel bad too. Heck, do you want to think and feel bad? I bet you don’t.

Without getting into long explanations as to why we have beliefs in the first place, or how we came to adopt beliefs through circumstances, peers and authority figures, or how they may help ensure survival etc. let us just admit we have them. Let’s also realize all of them are lies.

Lies repeated often enough may get substituted for the truth. If you adopted some of these at an early age and have been repeating them over and over to yourself, in one way or another, you have come to believe statements that can have absolutely nothing to do with the truth of who you are!

Thoughts Are Things

Except for the fact that you have embraced them, believed them and made them your own. You live from them, repeating them now because they are habit. Not that they are true they are just habit. They are reliable and automatic and they serve to keep you the same.

Your RAS looks for confirmation in the outer world thereby continuing the cycle of self deceit. If you believe things that aren’t true about you you are lying to yourself and accepting it as true. If that is the case CHOOSE better lies to believe. Choose lies that serve you to have everything you want in life!

SO while we are at it let’s admit we believe things about ourselves we may be better off not believing. We believe some pretty stupid and useless things sometimes. Henry Ford put it well when he said, ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t; you are right.’ Pretty much sums it up doesn’t it?

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together

There are beliefs we think that begin with ‘I can’ or ‘I am able’ then there are those that begin with ‘I can’t’ or ‘I am unable’. Both result in feelings, different feelings, and both determine how we act and behave and what and whether or not we accomplish anything much. Our mindset determines where we go in life.

You can absolutely change what and how you believe. You can develop new habits. I won’t lie to you and say it is easy it takes some effort. NOT very much but it takes some. Most of the effort is in overcoming the inertia of living a particular way so well you are comfortable with it even if it is painful.

People often times won’t do anything because it is uncomfortable. Change is uncomfortable it shakes things up. It is uncertain. People ‘don’t feel like it’. Yes, part of the brain’s job IS maintaining homeostasis. It keeps everything the same because it has made all those habitual neural pathways to run.

Our Brains Crave Novelty

It loves and craves novelty at the very same time. It is a learning junky. The human isn’t. We don’t like it all very much. We want it easy and ‘hey, don’t rock the boat!’ So many people won’t change because they believe it will be or is ‘too hard’. They believe ‘it will take too much work’ or that ‘I can’t’ or ‘I don’t know how’ or ‘all of this is BS’.

When confronted with the opportunity to change often times resistance comes up. Those are all the beliefs trying to keep you the same. All the reasons why something is wrong, won’t work, why you can’t, why it isn’t worth it, why why why… excuses…excuses…excuses…

Habits, habits, habits. Habitual thoughts you have been thinking forever keep you from living your goals and dreams and having the life you want. If you want to change examine these limiting statements  You can change you beliefs and you belief habits, by developing new habits.

Habits Are Reliable And Automatic

What You Believe Is What You Get!

“We are discussing the effects of beliefs on behavior. What we believe is critical to our success and our happiness in all facets of life. Beliefs are really nothing more than thoughts or clusters of thoughts that result in feelings. We habitually think more than 60,000 thoughts a day which produce feelings. That’s quite a few thoughts.

We can’t possibly keep track of all of them. The good news is we can use our feelings to figure out what we are thinking. If we feel good we are thinking positive and along the lines of what we want or what we want to include. If we feel less than glorious it is a good bet we are focused on what we don’t want or what we want to exclude from our lives.

Believing Is Seeing

The goal is to feel good most of the time. So when we discover we are not feeling good then it is up to us to change our thoughts to more positive ones. The negative feelings we have are a signal to change our thought patterns. Isn’t it nice to have a built in signal that alerts us it is time to change?

We can also shift our body and use our physiology to feel better. We can move, walk, skip, dance, breath differently, get a massage, play with a child or a pet. We can do anything to help us feel a bit better. The point is to make changing from less than glorious to glorious a habit. Bit by bit, step by step. Tiny doesn’t matter it is all good.

Because we become what we think about – we will become less than glorious if most of our thoughts are less than glorious. The reverse is true too. We can feel better if we think better. It works both ways. So do whatever it takes to build the habit of self correcting. Discover that you can feel great most of the time.’

Reality Is Determined By What We Believe

There is a saying, ‘Standing Is Harder Than Walking’. It is true. Have you ever noticed? Try standing still for any amount of time. There is a tendency to move, to fidget, to squirm. We want to move. If we can’t move large muscle groups we might blink more, or twitch small muscle groups. We want to move. We were designed to move.

It is easier to make progress and to change than it is to remain stuck or still. Our natural inclination is for progress and movement. We grow and develop. We learn. Being stuck takes it toll just as standing takes its toll on the muscles. Being sedentary takes its toll on the body and our health. We evolved to move most of the daylight hours.

We crave change but we fear it too. Our body and brain wants it while at the same time we make excuses not to change. ‘Should I’, or ‘shouldn’t I’, is an example of being stuck. Thoughts oppose each other. We feel unsure or bad, afraid to move. Why? It isn’t because we think or believe something wonderful is going to happen!

Standing IS harder Than Walking

We fear the worst. We anticipate failure. We think it will be too hard. Someone else is smarter and can do it but I can’t. We have beliefs about what could go wrong and what it would mean about us if we try and fail. So we don’t try. That takes a toll on us emotionally and spiritually. It becomes part of our history data bank.

Then when it comes to other changes we hope to make we look back and find historical proof for not doing anything. We will find examples of when we tried and it went awry or when we didn’t which proves us an even bigger failure. That cycle continues. Our self image; our self esteem; our self confidence; our self love eroded.

The purpose of this blog, and the wisdom from ancient times to now from the thought leaders is to help you feel better and make the changes you want. My hope is that you lead the life you want to live. Recipes, formulas, principles and suggestions have been handed down to us for centuries so we could improve our lot.

You Art Where Your Thoughts Brought You

YET, few do. Few will because they don’t believe anything will help. The become hopeless and helpless. They expect help to arrive from outside of them instead of from within. The truth of the matter is inside each of us already have what is needed to live as champions but few will look within. It is inside you where the truth resides.

This is the major distraction we all face. TV, media, economy, politics everything distracts. We look outward and outside ourselves for change. Or we look upward for help. Everything necessary for you to begin to live the life of your dreams is already within you. In order to find it you must first believe that is true.

Drop By Drop Fills The Tub

For some,  for many, that is too big of a leap. You would be well advised to begin by believing it is at least possible. See, we have to create an opening in our armor. Our armor is fashioned by our beliefs. We wear it even when we don’t need to.

In order for us to change we have to at least entertain the possibility that it is possible to change. If we can;t get this far we probably are doomed to remain stuck, standing, the same for years to come. If we can imagine a better day ahead we can bring it about because what we can conceive of and begin to believe in we can achieve.

The reason changes is difficult for some is because we look through our prison windows of beliefs. Our RAS looks for that which proves our frame of mind correct. It finds examples in the outer world to match our inner beliefs. Thankfully, though it may be tough, we can usually still find at least one reason to change.

Out Of Chaos Stars Are Born

Usually a crises or some devastating circumstances shake us up enough to the point we wake up and exclaim, ‘I really need to change something here!’ It is sad or unfortunate that there is a crises and wonderful and fortunate there is a crises at the same time.

If it is the impetus for change it is a marvelous, bitter sweet opportunity to turn your life around. If it comes and goes and you reinforce being stuck, down and out then it was an opportune time wasted. The good news is if not now, perhaps another time. Who knows? I don’t but it is possible another time may come .

As you read this post are you aware of your agreement and disagreement? Are you aware of the beliefs you have around the topics being made? If you become more aware of what you think and believe congratulate yourself. Not everyone will reflect in this fashion. It is a very useful exercise or way to spend your time.

Be Willling To Explore

Continue the process of looking for and finding those beliefs you have that support you and enable you and those that don’t. What does having these beliefs mean about you? You can ask this question of each belief you discover. Hang loose with whatever answer you get.

It takes some courage, patience and persistence to want to uncover our thoughts and beliefs. That is just the way it is. Remember, if you think you can or you think you can’t you are right.
