What If You Woke Up Oprah?

“Attitude that little thing that makes a huge difference. What is attitude? Why is it important? What does it do? It does amazing things. It is the result of our beliefs and values.

It determines how we approach the world and interact with it. It is what we think and act from. Attitude is either positive or negative, or a syrupy, wish washy mix.

The stronger one’s attitude, either positive or negative, the stronger positive or negative results you will have. If you are feeling stuck it is because you vacillate and go back and forth. A little positive a little negative. You don’t move very much. Stuck, is what that is.

Attitude Determines Your Altitude

Napoleon Hill, and other thought leaders from ancient times have, pointed out, it is predominantly what is in your heart and mind that determine the results you get. What runs the show is what you think about most of the time. Your lives, and the results you get, will be positive if you think positive most of the time.

It doesn’t mean you will always succeed thinking positively but you certainly won’t by thinking negative. Thinking positive paves the way for greater success. What you focus on expands. When you think and feel your very best your brain works better.

It will help you discover opportunity and advantages more easily and readily than when you are negative or stressed. It is more efficient and works optimally. That is what you want, isn’t it; a better working brain that helps you be more resourceful?

Give Yourself Reasons Why You Can Instead Of Why You Can’t

There is sound physiological basis for wanting to be more positive most of the time. The benefits to you and your health are worth every bit of any effort it might take. Develop your mental abilities and your will to be flexible, positive and persistent, no matter what the obstacle. This makes people champions and victors.

Imagine life by deliberate creation instead of happenstance.  Things may always ‘happen’ but imagine being the author and architect of your experience, in such a way, that you think about and bring about the life and lifestyle you desire. Imagine how wonderful it can be.

For example, imagine waking up as Oprah. One of the richest people in the world. She began with nothing, endured great hardship and yet, has built a vast media empire and a very strong reach. (This is an exercise because I have no idea how Oprah feels or if she would endorse this exercise at all).

Just image, though, you woke up, having built an empire. You have more money than god and even if you lost most of it you’d be set forever. You have no need to hold o anything. It is assured. Every need you could have that can be addressed by money is taken care of.

Positive Attitude Gives You Power Over Circumstances

Money is not everything. It is great to have. There is nothing wrong with it. It won’t solve everything that is for certain. There is health, love, family, friends, happiness, enjoyment, adventure and much more that is important. I only mention money because that is a concern for many in our day and age.

The many concerns that aren’t money driven; those may be much more important that any money concerns. That is part of this attitude too. You have built an empire. You believe in yourself. You live rich! You are generous. You are positive and you wield great influence and power.

Imagine how you think and act throughout the day. Yes, of course, you have concerns. No one is trouble free but how might you think about these concerns and work toward resolving them. DO you think it would be different than how most of the rest of the people on the planet go about approaching difficulty.

A Negative Thinker Sees A Difficulty In Every Opportunity

My guess, is if she wants to create something new, or build a business or help someone in some way, she is not hampered by doubt. She knows what she has accomplished and what she can accomplish. My guess is she greets the day the same, yet differently than most others. She has a history built of overcoming the odds.

Because of what she has and has done probably not much stops her. (AGAIN, please, just as with any human, I am trying to be sensitive, and I am sure there are times and moments when she may reach limits. The rain falls on the rich and the poor).

My point is can you imagine, even for a moment, living that lifestyle? Can you imagine feeling like you accomplished all that she has accomplished? You have worked hard and made it happen. You deserve it. How do you feel about yourself? Hopefully, proud!

Yes, it may be over the top for most people and their dreams but if you could, could you imagine that lifestyle and attitude for yourself? If you can, then it is possible for you to do likewise. If you can’t then it probably isn’t likely for you. You decide what you want.

A Positive Thinker Sees Opportunity In Every Difficulty

My guess is, when she wants to create something she just calls in in. She puts her order in to the universe. For example, she wants to create a new charity and needs money. My guess is she is assured within herself that it will be there when and as needed. She doesn’t doubt it might happen or fear that it won’t.

She is certain it will come about as needed.  She has complete faith. Here passion and her faith see her through. It doesn’t enter her mind that it may not be. That is the difference between those that have and those that don’t. Faith in one’s abilities to manifest what is desired or needed.

Those that HAVE know it is going to happen, no matter what, because they will make it happen, versus those who hope it will happen while filled with doubt at the same time, that it won’t.

What do we need to do then? We need to think and become a deliberate intentional creator not one who struggles with circumstances. Build your life, make it happen. Believe it and create it and you will continue to make other things happen. Get your mindset, your attitude working for you.

It is the development of a powerful unstoppable attitude that makes the difference. We are to ‘command ye, me’  the Bible says. We are to command the universe. We are to declare what we want and make things happen. Be bold! Be certain! Have faith! Be Positive!

A Positive Attitude Leads To Positive Results

It is time to live differently. When we live positively and powerfully inside our minds and heart our outer lives will then follow. It is from within, between our ears, and in our being, that change first happens.

William James said, ‘The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude.’

Dictate your circumstances instead of letting circumstances dictate you. THAT is the difference in successful attitude. Ask yourself, ‘What will I create today that I will immensely enjoy that can benefit all?’ That might be an excellent question to begin asking.

In how many different ways can I discover myself creating goodness, expected and unexpected goodness in my daily life? How delighted will I be to notice more and more each day all the opportunity and advantages I initiate and make use of? Keep asking good questions that direct your mind into becoming invincible and magnificent!” Rex Sikes

How To Become A Winner And Champion!

“How does one become a winner and a champion? What does it mean to live as an emperor? What is it like to be a victor? What do these people do differently than the rest of us? Are they different or special? Were they born this way? Can we learn to do what they do?

Yes, we can! That is the good news. The champion, the winner, the emperor, the victor determine and dictate the circumstances. They make the world conform to their idea. They begin with an image in their mind of what they want. They hold it, emotionalize it and bring it into being. They create the results they passionately desire.

They determine the outcome in advance. They use their mental faculties and mental powers and resources to create the life they want to live. They don’t make excuses, they don’t blame, they don’t rely on anyone else. They decide and they make it happen.

They focus each day, they affirm, they develop habits that support them. The learn how to concentrate and focus their attention and put their energy only on the good they desire. They think positive, feel positive and know that what they hold in their mind will be a reality. They know they will manifest what they want or better!

Without a doubt they bring it about. Doubt, fear and anxiety know no place in their being. Whenever they feel less than glorious they switch their focus and move back toward the glorious. They know that whatever you can conceive and believe you can achieve. So that is what they do.

They know that what you think about is what you become so they only think about the good they want to make happen. They focus on all the good they want to attract. The look for and find opportunity and advantage.

They know how to attract and work with other like minded people to create and manifest their burning desires. Just as positive thoughts flock together and create exponential power so do people. Together they make their dreams their reality. They create it!

Obstacles and challenges contain lessons from which they learn. Their mindset is strong as steel. Their faith unwavering and steady. Their commitment and persistence and spirit indomitable. The never quit but persist until what they hold in their mind is the reality they live.

They call the shots. They determine how the world will conform to them. Were they born this way? Absolutely not! They became this way through dedicated work on oneself. They focused their attention, gained control of their thoughts, their feelings and their actions and made these work for them.

They conditioned themselves by proper practice and spaced repetition. The visualized, they affirmed, they chanted their mantras. The developed belief in themselves and their abilities. They learned how to tap into their intuition and awareness. Everything they have they learned and developed.

The sowed the seeds, nurtured them and in time reaped the harvest. Having learned how they do it once, they did it again and again. Each win, each success building on each other. They transformed themselves into CAN Do people. The fashioned themselves into unstoppable deliberate creators.

The good news. It is not just them that can do this. Many are from poor backgrounds. Many uneducated. Some downright dumb. But they worked and transformed themselves. They made no excuses.

Not one of them is special or born into it. They are the same as you and I with one difference. They decided to do it for themselves. They made a decision and followed through. I bet there were many who dropped out along the way.

If any ONE can do it so can the rest of us. If anyone can do it so can you. Drop the excuses. Stop the whining and the complaining. Decide to take responsibility for yourself. Decide to become invincible. Live fully and live the life you want. Stop being a victim and become a victor! YOU CAN DO THIS! NOW IS THE TIME!” Rex Sikes

Why You Need To Be Part Of A True MasterMind Group!

“Do you have support for the changes you want to make? Are you working at it all by yourself? Are you helping anyone else? The Mastermind Group suggested by Andrew Carnegie to Napoleon Hill is a powerful and excellent possibility you will want to explore.

Carnegie and Hill stated it is a necessity. Hill wrote  extensively about what a mastermind group should be. You hear a lot about these groups today but few are actual mastermind groups. The name gets used for any collection of people gathered around a topic. It has become a popular term and selling point.

Without going into the particulars in this post I suggest that you find ‘likeminded’ positive people whom you can partner with or associate with to help you stay on course. It is important to surround yourself with positive people who inspire you and whom you can encourage and assist.

There is exponential potential when more than one person pursues a definite chief purpose. Together people can accomplish more than individually. A true mastermind is formed around that purpose. It is tightly monitored to insure all are on the same page. Members work toward accomplishing the same agreed upon end.

You Can Accomplish More When In Harmony With Others

It is a special and unique group that forms in particular fashion for a particular purpose.  It is not the mere collection of like-minded people. Still, there is a point to also having like minded people to engage with. It is important to begin there. It is a great benefit too!

For our purposes today I suggest you find people to associate with for the purpose of having a cheering squad and a support team. When you associate with positive others you are inspired to greater heights. You travel together instead of separately even though you each are on a solo path. Birds of a feather flock together.

We will discuss at other times elements of a true mastermind group. This is an important topic and according to Carnegie and Hill a critical component for achieving great success.  Meanwhile, I encourage you to read Napoleon Hill, ‘The Laws Of Success’ and ‘Think And Grow Rich’. Two very worthwhile books!

Read these works for a more complete understanding of the time honored principles for success and an accurate description of a true mastermind group. A mastermind is not an internet collection of hundreds of people but a select few chosen for particular purposes.

Surround Yourself With Positive Energy People

Meanwhile, surround yourself with people who are accomplishing their dreams. Find those who already have made their dreams come true and who continue to make positive pursuits. It is great to learn from people who have been where you are and who are doing what you want to do.

This is important too. People who have come from a similar background. Of someone is born to extreme wealth and you are not you don’t have much in common. Their path to success is not yours, you don’t have those advantages. If the person came from humble roots but went on to great success that is the person to learn from.

That person’s path is more parallel to your own. They have some things to teach you and you have some things to learn from them. Spend time in nourishing atmospheres with uplifting people. It is part of your nutritional program for your mind and spirit.

Read and re-read positive materials. Listen to positive speakers. Attend functions and events and stay on course by having buddies who help and whom you can help. A wonderful thing happens for you when you can celebrate and cheer on another to success. Great things can happen when you assist and give to others.

Think of your own personal improvement program this way. How much time do you spend devoted to the positive pursuit versus the negative? How much time is positive versus distraction? The goal is for you to enjoy more and more of life so that the balance falls in the favor of the positive time. 70, 80, 90% positive.

Your Positivity Scale Should Tip In Favor Of Positivity

If you read a page a day and spend the rest of your time surrounded by negative whining people whom you join in helping criticize current affairs you aren’t spending much time filling yourself with positive and inspiring thoughts, feelings and actions. You need to change that and adjust those times appropriately.

Social media can be a huge time waster and downer because so much is focused on what is wrong with everything. As is the news and unfortunately as is a lot of people we care about. Make sure you are getting more than adequate nutrition for your mind and body.

If you want to turn your life around you can. Spend more time engaged with the positive thoughts and behaviors that make it so and you will! Spend more time with positive and encouraging people. Adjust the positive to negative time spent ratio and you will find your life moving into the positive fast lane. ENJOY!” Rex Sikes

Do This If You Think Nothing Will Help You!

“Some people give up. They lose hope. They try many things but don’t seem to get results. They race around but produce little of what they want? I have done this. Have you? Some erroneously conclude that they are beyond help or that nothing works.

That is sad when people give up or lose faith in themselves. That is where the faith needs to be. It needs to be on the inside of us and not on outer things. We need to know that if we dedicate ourselves we can find away no matter how difficult it may seem.

It is always darkest before the dawn. Those who triumph often do over incalculable odds. Great victory seems to come only after great hardship. Those who expect it easy may be in for a surprise. Those who expect to win come closer than those who think they’ll lose.

Defeat Is Only Temporary Unless You Quit

Things worth having may be worth fighting for. Some people want it quick and easy. They believe the media advertising claims. ‘Works like magic. No effort necessary. It does the work for you!’ Because they put their faith in specious claims they end up disappointed.

Have you? I have. Has the Law Of Attraction worked for you? What about Positive Thinking? Has positive thinking worked for you? There is a lot of misunderstanding about what these two approaches are that need some clearing up. Let’s discuss briefly and simply.

The Law Of Attraction (LOA)  is based on the principle that like attracts like and that makes perfect sense. It is true that birds of a feather flock together. It’s premise is whatever you put out you get more back of the same.

Inside All Hardship Are Lessons And Opportunity 

This notion is central to planting seeds. When you plant A seed you get more of the same crop back multiplied. It makes perfect sense. One plants, waits and harvests. During the waiting period the seed is nourished. It must be nourished or it would die.

LOA is based on attraction. You attract everything whether good or bad. The universe, god, your subconscious, whatever description works for you, doesn’t care whether it is good for you or not. There is no judgement. You get what you focus on.

Another way to think about this is that the universe, god or your subconscious mind always, ONLY, says yes to you. If you think, ‘I am wealthy’ it says, ‘Yes!’ If you say, ‘I am broke’ it says ‘Yes!’ It agrees with whatever you state about yourself and your circumstances.

If your life sucks it is because you are somehow creating or attracting it with your thoughts. You are responsible for your results. Ask yourself what you are focused on? You’ll get more of the same. Many people don’t want to be held accountable, however.

If You Do Nothing You Get Nothing

The central tenant of Positive Thinking is that positive, optimistic thoughts are more productive or useful and beneficial than negative thoughts. If you want to win the race you need to think the thoughts of a winner. You can’t believe you will lose and win easily.

One must think the thoughts that bring about the most good. You don’t become rich thinking how poor you are. You don’t become healthy thinking how sick you are. At its core it says if you want health and wealth you should think health and wealth thoughts.

Combined with the LOA means the more positive thoughts you think the more positive thoughts you are likely to attract. The more negative thoughts you think the more negative you attract. So you are responsible for the results you get based on what you focus on.

It Is Better To Try And Fail Than To Never Try

Neither discipline has anything to do with pie in the sky, wishful or hopeful thinking. Unfortunately, sometimes they are presented that way. Both are reasonable disciplines with philosophy, science, brain science and more backing them up. These principles are ancient!

Some people say they have tried these and they gave up because they don’t work. Countless, others claim great benefit. Seems people get what they believe they will. Our expectations play a part in what we ultimately discover. This is very true!

Whether these work or don’t says nothing about the LOA or PT but speak volumes about the person. We shouldn’t evaluate a practice by someone else’s success of failure to use it well. When someone says they tried the questions are how well?

If You Want Life To Change You Will Have To Change Some Things

How hard?  How long? What does it mean you tried? Some people think if they read a book they tried it. Others actually do put it to use. We can verify whether something works or not based on others experience we can only verify it based on our own.

Most people I talk to, who have had difficulty, do not try very hard nor very long. OR should I say long enough. The may dabble intensely but still it is just dabbling. The pioneer people who made it from east to the west in the US endured great hardship.

Those who persisted until they arrived at the west coast succeeded. Those who settled along the way, settled. You win the race crossing the finish line. No one said that the LOA or PT was easy only that it was easier. This is an important point to keep in mind.

When The Going Gets Tough The Tough Get Going

Dedication and commitment, investment and persistence are meaningful qualities in making your dreams come true. If you dabble you might possibly succeed. If you are committed you might possibly fail to reach your goal by your deadline.

If you never give up you are more likely to hit the target eventually. You don’t stop attempting but you DO adjust how you are going about it. Being flexible and changing your plans or routes along the way is part of being a smart traveler. You adjust as necessary.

The bottom line is you aim high. You think the best. You know what you want and pursue what you want; you think about what you want. That aims you at your target. It makes hitting the target more likely. When playing darts you aim at the bullseye you want to hit.

You Get What You Focus On – You Become What You Think About

You don’t aim at what you don’t want to hit. You don’t think, ‘I don’t want to miss the target completely. I don’t want to hit these other rings or numbers.’ You don’t, do you? You think about what you want to hit. You focus in on it. You zero in on it. You exclude the rest.

When you think positive and optimistically you open your neurology up to possibilities and opportunity. You are more apt to see advantages and even learn from mistakes. You tend to attract like minded people. Your world gets a little bit better.

As you continue you make thinking positive a habit. As a result, because you are thinking positive and optimistically you become that which you think about. Life improves. The more you get the more you can get. Things get better and better.

You Are Today Where Your Thoughts Brought You

You progress. If challenges come your way you are better equipped to handle them. Because you make this way of thinking and feeling and being a lifestyle and a habit you are less likely to throw in the towel when going gets rough. Instead you persist. You evolve.

Ultimately, you reach you goal. You arrive at your destination. It may not have been always easy but it was easier. This is why you want to consider using the LOA and PT. Frankly, both already are in operation in your life. You can’t not use the them.

You can focus on the wrong things, however. Most of us do anyway. That is how we were brought up. SO we train our minds now to thing better by thinking more positively. We apply the principles and practice the approaches daily. It is a discipline. It requires rigor.

You Will Be Tomorrow Where Your Thoughts Take You

We can’t escape the effects of the LOA we can only use it to our advantage or not. If you don’t like the results you are getting what are you paying attention to? It’s a good guess you aren’t paying attention to all the positive, wonderful thoughts you could be.

It is more likely you are thinking about the circumstances and the problems, even trying to find a solution, but the issue looms larger in your mind. If your thoughts about bills and lack are more frequent than your thoughts about plenty and abundance that is an issue.

You get what you focus on. You become what you think about most during the day. Like attracts like, birds of a feather flock together. What you think about you bring about. If you hold it in your head you will someday hold it in your hand. Lack doesn’t result in wealth.

You Cannot Escape The Results Of Your Thoughts

The saying, ‘If it is to be it is up to me’ applies. There are practices that make LOA and PT more powerful and easier to apply. It isn’t that these are hard we just do things more wisely. This blog is designed to help you make your dreams come true.

PT is a discipline. Applying the principles within the LOA is a disciple. It isn’t magic. You don’t sit crosslegged hoping for things to land in your lap. Maybe they will, I’d stay open for it to happen that way, without betting on it. Instead I’d bet on myself to make it happen.

Design your life the way you want it to be and live it! Make it happen. Don’t give up until you arrive. If you are already there on the inside it makes getting there on the outside more quickly. As within so without. As above so below. Live your dreams now!

Whether You Think You Can Or You Can’t You Are Right

LOA and PT are marvelous tools. Marvelous organizing principles. Wonderful and powerful approaches. They may be the laws which govern the universe, but if not, they are pretty darn close. Don’t fight what is, have the present and future you always wanted.

Don’t give up. Learn to apply these. Don’t lose faith grow the faith. Put your faith on you. Bet on yourself to win. Be a winner. Become a champion. Focus on what you CAN DO and do it. Take positive steps each day toward what you want and you will make it happen.” Rex Sikes

Use This Key To Unlock The Door To Your Dreams & Desires

“What does believing mean? What does it mean to have faith? Why is this important when it comes to making your dreams come true? How does it apply to your career goals, being the person you want to be or having what you want to get in life?

In previous blog posts I’ve pointed out the necessity of maintaining a positive mindset and the importance of ‘Believe It And You Will See it’. This concept is how everything works but it is not the typical way most people think.

Most People Think When I See It Then I Will Believe It

This latter attitude keeps people in the dark because they focus on present circumstances. Their mindset works this way.  Only once they are convinced it can be otherwise, then AND only then, will they believe it can be otherwise. It is the reason things don’t work.

Instead of being focused on what they want and believing they can make it happen they are focused on what they don’t want waiting to be convinced somehow it will be different. So they remain the same. They get what they focus on. They get what they don’t want.

To be, do or have what you want you must focus on what you want to the exclusion of all else. You can not let yourself be distracted from what it is you want to make happen. You are the creator of it so create it. Believe you can do it and you will. Stay properly focused.

You Must Believe It First And Then You Will See It

Listen to stories of those people who reached the top in entertainment, in finance, in sports, whatever endeavor in life and you repeatedly hear stories that they KNEW they were destined to become a top player regardless of the obstacles.

They KNEW IT within them. They never lost faith.  Even when it appeared hopeless the kept going!  They worked in spite of the odds until they made it. This is how we need to believe. We need to EXPECT that it will happen. We need to KNOW we can accomplish it.

You can not wish or hope. You can not be half assed. You must be convinced that you will fulfill your greatest desire and you must passionately pursue it. You must persist in the pursuit until you have what you want. There is not alternative. You just do it!

You Must Ask Believing

Sure, you can hope, you can pray, you can think it is all about luck. That will not get you closer. Jesus said, ‘When you ask BELIEVE you will receive…’ so we can’t do less than that, can we? This is an important key concept. Believe it and you will see it!

We need to stop begging, whining and pleading. We need to command it into being. We need to declare what we want. We need to believe we will make it happen. We need to expect to get it.  Just as you do when you place an order in a restaurant.

Consider this analogy. You go into a restaurant. Hopefully, you are polite and I mean this. Waitstaff comes and says something similar to, ‘May I take your order?. You tell the person what you want they take it back to the cook. You wait after having placed YOUR order.

You Don’t Have To Muster Up Faith To Order Breakfast

You expect it to be delivered how you want it a little while later. You don’t sit there hoping and wishing and whining and complaining or fretting or worried or convinced it will never happen. You expect it to come the way you ordered it and you expect to get what you want.

With regard to the cook preparing it and it being delivered there are those who would liken that to the universe giving you what you want once you order is in. That is fine. I am not going there with this analogy at this time. I am only right now only addressing the ordering process and your faith in yourself.

While the waitstaff is gone you behave normally and concern yourself with reading or conversing or whatever you do. You occupy yourself because you know your food is coming. After all your order is in. After a while, it is served. You got what you ordered. You got what you wanted.

Know What You Want To Order

If you didn’t know what you wanted neither would anyone else. So the first important piece was to know what you want. When it comes to your dreams you need to know what you want and want it more than anything else.

You place your order. You declare what you will make happen.You stay focused on what you want to the exclusion of any evidence that tells you otherwise. You don’t let present circumstances distract you and you do not compare the wait time.

You don’t think, ‘I placed my order how long is this going to take’. Doing that keeps you focused on not having it yet. It keeps your attention on what you do not want. You have to have your focus on what you want. Your mind set needs to be right. You must believe.

Expect It – Know It 

You do not wish or hope.  You KNOW! You state it. You order it. You declare it! You command it! You demand it! You don’t dream it, you don’t pray or beg you ACCEPT it.

You Announce it. In fact, you don’t believe something is going to happen. Don’t put it off on someday in the future. You believe it has already happened! This is how you use your mind to create what you want. You see it as if it all already exists. It begins as an idea!

In your mind’s eye, visualize already having what you want. Imagine it fully as vividly as you are able. Full color, 3D, full sound with total feeling. Live it as though you have everything you want. FEEL IT. BASK in how good it feels. Imagine living in the house you will live in.

Stay Focused

Imagine working in the career you want successfully. Imagine a loving relationship. Imagine all your bills paid and enough money to do whatever you want when you want to. See people congratulating you and discussing your success.

Hear it! Hear people congratulate you. Hear what they say and what you say in return. Feel their handshakes and embraces. Feel how good it feels. Live the life you want to be living. It is the feelings combined with the images that place your order with your subconscious. Feel it fully.

Keep all your self-talk positive. Speak only to bless heal and prosper. Don’t speak about what you don’t want. Affirm what you want. Stay true to your pursuit. Stay focused, stay positive and powerful. Do not give your power away. Keep it an use it.

Once you put your order in with the waitstaff you don’t have to believe it will happen you KNOW it will happen. Treat life the same way. Expect good things. See them. Plan them in your mind’s eye.

Carry out the future in the present. Do not make it a when make it NOW! Make the future your current reality on the inside. What you focus on you get.  What you think you become.  Keep the faith!

Now Is The Only Time There Is

Live with an attitude of gratitude. Celebrate everything right now! Be focused on abundance not lack. Know you are making your dreams come true. The seeds are planted. The order is taken. Live as though you know it is yours. It is yours!

Own it! Declare it! Stop being a beggar. Stop fretting, hoping and worrying. Live as an emperor. YOU will make your dreams come true. Mind set is the very first and most important step to take.

Set aside time each day to imagine your life as you want it to be. Feel the very best you can as much as you can each day. Make feeling good and thinking positive a daily habit and your will be amazed at all the good things you starting creating and attracting.

Live positively! Live with passion. Live with enthusiasm! Feel the best you can moment to moment because it makes it all happen faster when you do. Be happy and enjoy all there is. Just like the others who knew they would succeed no matter what you can too! Do it!” Rex Sikes

How To Stop Living Like A Beggar And Start Living Like An Emperor!

“Can you imagine the emperors of old. They were in charge. They had the power. They commanded and others obeyed. Can you imagine what it would be like to be an emperor? If you could command it and your words would be carried out. That would be pretty cool, wouldn’t it?

So what is stopping you? Think about that for a moment. What prevents you from living as an emperor? Yes, yes, I know those days are gone. I mean, why don’t you act like the emperor you already are? You do know that’s what you are don’t you?

Who Is In Charge

I mean, either you are in charge of you OR you are not. Either you are the emperor, the controller, the ruler of your own being or you are not. So which is it? Either you command things to happen or you hope they will.

When you hope you are really a beggar. You are hoping someone, something will be kind. You hope and pray things will work out but you don’t really know. All power is outside of you. Others have the power you have to beg to get their scrapes. Is this you? I hope not!

Live Like An Emperor. Stop Living Like A Beggar. Live as a champion. Walk and breath as a winner.

Stop whining, sniveling, begging, hoping, wishing, comparing and complaining. Stop worrying about your career, your relationships, your money, your life.  It isn’t helping anything so give it a rest!

No Whining Stop Worrying

Let’s pretend all this Law Of Attraction quantum physics stuff is true. You are a creator you are one with the universe. You are an aspect of the divine, an expression, a fractal, part of the hologram in which all is contained.

You are responsible for everything. You, your atoms, have been here since the beginning of time. You are one with everything.

This universe is as much yours as you belong to it. SO for goodness stake stop begging and hoping and wishing that you get some good part of it. Demand it and expect it. You create all of it. Create what you want.

Make it happen. You are responsible for all good things. So make sure YOU get some of them for yourself. All the other stuff I write about patience and kindness and going first, allowing and accepting and forgiving still applies. You are a benevolent Emperor!

It Is Your Decision And No One Else’s

It is all part of the whole and the whole is in each part. Stop acting like change comes from outside of you.

Everything necessary for having what you want is already in you. Exercise it! Use it. Claim it. Stop expecting something from the outside to grant your wish.

Grant your own wish! MAKE it happen. After all, that is WHO is making it happen anyway? Speak it into being! Think it into being! Your thoughts create your reality. Create the results you want!

While ancient texts, and new thought leaders and people like Neville and Hill and Wattles and current gurus all proclaim the Law Of Attraction realize YOU are the magnet in your own playground.

Stop creating division and become whole. Be congruent. Become one. Hill emphasized that YOU need to know what you want.  Make it a burning passion and desire. Have faith. Go for it and don’t stop!

Know What You Want And Go For It

Do whatever you have to, in positive ways. Co-operate with others, for the best for everyone, and you will get want you want if you never give up.

He didn’t say it would physically materialize over time.  No one said the atoms would magically assemble in the environment until it physically manifests while you meditate and chant,

Stop comparing and wondering if it will happen. Decide it will happen. Do everything to make it happen. YOU do it. You create it You attract it. Demand it of yourself and stop hoping somehow it will come together if you are just good enough.

MAKE it happen. YOU make it happen. Believe in yourself. When you understand you are responsible you can get out of your own way. Become congruent. Align your desires with your intentions and get what you want.

Stop Comparing Stop Wondering 

Stop the self-sabotage. Stop wondering ‘if’ it will happen. Put an end to the pleading. When you do these things you will stop being a victim and become a victor. You will take charge as you should You should be the person in control. Where there is a will there is a way.

Okay, NOW let’s imagine the LOA is a crock. It is BS. It is a fairy tale and none of it works. The same principles apply. You make it happen. No one else will but you. If you are going to get your goals it will be completely your responsibility.

Stop sniveling and whining and hoping and wishing. Stop doubting and fearing and worrying and comparing. Pull yourself up. Set your attitude right. Get it straight and keep it that way.

Know what you want. Make it a burning desire. Keep working it until you succeed. You will if you never give up. Either way it is up to you.

Attitude Is Everything

Make all your  goals and dreams come true. Go after it the way a champion athlete prepares for the Olympics.

Dedicate yourself. Have the right mind set, get the right coaching you need and train yourself to win. Keep going and don’t quit. No excuses. No reasons. No Blames. Live as an Emperor. Command yourself. Demand of yourself. Expect yourself to follow through. And Do it!” Rex Sikes

Do Things Have To Get Bad For You Before They Get Good?

“Are you one of these people? Do circumstances in life just go from bad to worse? There are some people who have to wait and let things get bad enough before they act. Is this you? They don’t move toward their goals. Instead they move away from discomfort. Things must get really bad before they get better. Many are like this.

This is known as the Pleasure/Pain Principle or The Carrot/Stick. Instead of moving toward the carrot, or the reward or pleasure they move away to avoid pain and punishment. When things are bad enough then they act. BUT not until they are BAD enough!

This is similar to the Last Straw Principle. They keep allowing pain and discomfort or bad events to pile up or circumstances and feelings to get so bad that they say, ‘Enough! That’s it! Never again!’ Finally, they act. You know the story. The camel’s owner kept piling straws on the camel’s back until it broke.

Many People Are Motivated By Pain And What They Don’t Want

In order for this person to be motivated it has to get really, really bad or bad enough. Some modern day guru’s have said, if this is you and you want to change, find a way to deliberately add on the pain until it gets so bad you do act in some way in your own best interests. I was never good at doing this deliberately.

If you are motivated by moving away from painful thoughts, events and circumstances this is how you are motivated. Until you learn to be motivated by focusing on what you do want and move toward it you will have to use what you have.

For example, some people decide they want to be rich and they move toward making money and having plenty. This is what they want and what they enjoy. They want to include money and having fine things in their life. They create positive circumstances to pursue.

Others don’t want to be poor. They hate being poor so they move away from poverty or lack.  They avoid it and want to exclude it as a possibility. They leave it behind.  If you are this latter person you may have experienced the struggle this type of motivation is.

You Need To Determine And Clarify What Your Do Want

You are driven by the need to not feel pain and to avoid what you don’t want. There is some benefit to this or in getting to the point of The Last Straw . Knowing what you do not want CAN help you clarify what you actually do want. If you spend time to decide precisely you can benefit immensely. Determine what you want!

Once you know exactly what you do not want then turn your attention to what you do want instead. Focus on what it is you want. Specify it. Make it real and desirable.  Turn your back on what you don’t want and put all of your attention and energy into creating and making what you want happen.

When you know what you want you are aiming at where you want to go. You have set your course and can move in A PURPOSEFUL direction. You can think intentional thoughts about it. You are able to close in on it step by step. The problem with the negative motivation is it is similar to running from a bear in an unknown woods.

You Must Focus On What You Do Want

While attempting to flee the bear you run anywhere you can. You attention is on not getting eaten. You run wherever you can. You may know you want safety but you don’t have time to plan. So you run to avoid the dire consequences. You don’t have a specific direction to go to. Any direction away from the bear is better.

It is important to realize that what you focus on you get. Call it  the Law Of Attraction or Karma, call it anything you like, the point is, whatever you put out you get more of it back. You plant one seed you get a lot more seeds back. Like attracts like. Birds of a feather flock together.

If you have to wait and wait until it gets bad enough for you to feel motivated to change you are focusing on what you don’t want. When you get enough of what you don’t want you then try to escape it. If this is you, the key to making it work is the moment you take action you must turn your attention to what you do want instead.

You Can Learn To Do Anything Persistence Is The Key

You have to shift your focus from what you do not want to what you do want. Keep you eyes and mind and thoughts on what you want. Then you are able to get what you focus on. What you think about you bring about. So you want to be thinking about what you DO want and not what you don’t want.

If while thinking about what you do you you notice yourself feeling less than glorious, not so good, or even bad then you have inadvertently slipped back into thinking about what you don’t want. The negative feelings are the signal to let you know you have gone off course. It is so wonderful we have feelings as an internal guidance system.

Feel good means you are focused on what you want. Feel bad means you are focused on what you don’t want. To have an enjoyable life you want more pleasure and far less pain. What you think about you bring about. So if you are thinking less than glorious thoughts you will be feeling less than glorious feelings. It is quite simple actually!

Both forms of motivation are possible. I find that it is more positive and powerful and feels better, once you know what you want,  to move toward what you want to have. I prefer to be drawn toward it magnetically than to be escaping from something I abhor. It is here, where what we focus on and how becomes meaningful.

Your Feelings Are A Great Guidance System

If you are focused mostly on what you don’t like and don’t want, if that is mostly what you see and experience then how do you get out of it. If all you notice is poverty and lack, if what you experience is not having what you want, you probably aren’t feeling very well or thinking very powerfully because you are focused on what sucks.

The good news is this: You learned to do that. Perhaps, at the time you didn’t realize you were learning it but that is what you did. It is a skill and it did serve a useful purpose at the time. AND we can learn to do many things. You made that a habit you can learn to make getting what you want easier and moving toward what you want a habit.

I have already told you how.  Countless times within all these blog pages. Go through it and read. The key is deliberately shifting you focus and keeping it there. It will be odd at first, a little uncomfortable or unfamiliar while you try a new thing but just as in learning any skill, stick with it, and you will master it. You will make it a new and useful beneficial habit. You can do this and when you do more good things are in store for you!” Rex Sikes

The Secret Successful People Know: How You Ask ‘Why’ Determines Your Success Or Failure!

“Did you know that questions direct your mind? They do. When you ask a question, of yourself, your mind goes on a search to find experiences and answers. It looks in a broad way for classes of experiences and multiple examples to fulfill the request.

Questions are tricky because you may not even be aware that you asked one or more. When conversing with another you know you asked a  question. I’m concerned right now with the questions you ask yourself in your self-talk. These questions you  may be asking all day long and not even aware of it.

What You Ask Yourself And Others Is Critical

We grew up often having to answer accusatory questions such as: ‘why did you do that?’ ‘Why do you always do that?’ ‘Why can’t I count on you?, ‘Why are you naughty?’ and many more like these. If you ask a child, why the child is good or why the child is bad you will get two different answers and sets of feelings.

If you ask the child, why are you good? The child has to think about that, find examples of being good, feeling good, doing the ‘right’ thing. You could ask, ‘in how many ways are you good’, or ‘how do you always know to do the right thing’, or ‘isn’t it wonderful to be good’, or ‘why do you enjoy feeling good?’ Notice how the child feels and responds.

These questions direct our mind, and the child’s to explore and find answers. The bottom line is we may never actually know ‘why’ but we still come up with answers, reasons and experiences. The questions we were asked and we ask of ourselves subsequently helped to form our self image. Who we are and the quality of our life is determined by the questions we ask of ourself.

Questions Direct Your Mind To Find Examples And Reasons

Ask the child, why are you bad? The child goes through the same process but feels quite different. Ask the child this enough times and the child begins to identify with the feelings, the reasons and the question itself.  The brain traveling the same neural pathways repeatedly becomes habituated. Whenever an issue arises the resulting feelings and conclusions are, ‘it must be because I am bad’.

It could be any other reason as well or in addition to. It could be because I am:  fat;  unlovable; stupid; uncaring; slow; unhealthy; poor; unlucky; un-coordinated; frivolous; cautious; risky; small; weak; tall; boy; girl; young; old, I don’t know how; it is too hard; I’ve never done it before. The list of reasons why is endless.

We grew up being blamed and then blaming ourselves. We tried to escape the blame by diverting it. We learned quickly to  accuse others, or things or circumstances. We made up reasons even if we were not sure what the truth of the matter actually was. This became chronic in many, if not most of, us. It is habit and we find ourselves doing the same today without thinking. It is automatic!

The Questions You Ask Determine Whether You Succeed Or Fail

The questions, the silent ones, we ask ourselves are insidious and difficult to recognize. We utter them on the inside or under our breath. ‘Why me?’ ‘Why do things always suck?’ How come I never get a break?’ ‘Why does s/he always treat me this way?’ ‘Will I never get ahead?’ Recognize any of these or variations?

What makes it critical is you are directing your mind in damaging ways. You aren’t helping yourself. You are harming yourself. These questions are habitual. Chronic. You ask them before realizing you are thinking them. You have done it forever. It is time to stop it!

Asking questions like these aren’t making you feel better nor do they improve the quality of your life. When you focus your mind on the very things you want to avoid you end up creating more of the same.

You become what you think about most during the day. You get what you focus on. You brain delivers you multiple reasons and examples per your request. Your inner world creates your outer world. It starts with the mind and your feelings (body and mind being part of the same) and affects your actions.

Questions And Thinking Produces Feelings

Here is a bet for you. If you are asking yourself, unproductive, crappy questions that lead you to find examples and reasons you are broken, bad and feeling unworthy and terrible IT IS A BET you are asking your children and your loved ones the same types of questions. You ask the same of everyone around you. Bet on it!

It makes sense someone asked them of you. If you want your kids and loved ones to feel better and grow up confident and capable ask them the kind of questions that serve to do that. Help direct their mind and help them learn to direct their own mind in positive, powerful, productive, optimistic ways. Help them become a Can Do person not a Can’t Do person. Keep this in mind!

If you are asking, ‘why you are so unlucky’ you are not creating luck! If you are asking ‘how can I get out of debt’ you are focused on debt. If you are asking ‘why you can’t lose wait’ you are focused on being fat. If you are saying, ‘I want a non-smoker’ you are focused on smoking or people who smoke and how you don’t want one of those.

You may think you are being positive but you are thinking the opposite! You are NOT thinking and getting what you think you are. I don’t want to think of a green spotted cow right now. Oooops too late! You don’t get healthy focusing on illness. You don’t get rich trying to get out of debt. You don’t become better off thinking about and asking why you aren’t

What Are You Focused On?

You get healthy focused on health. You get rich focused on riches and abundance. You are already getting whatever you are focused on. Do you get this, yet? Whatever you predominantly hold in your mind is why you feel, behave and have what you have. Good or bad. If you results, circumstances, events in your life suck trace it back to the direct link WHAT YOU ARE THINKING AND ASKING ABOUT!

Whatever you hold in your mind’s eye, whatever you ask about, whatever you concentrate on, whatever you entertain or stew over is what you bring about. Ideas become things. Thoughts become things. Your life is a direct result of the kind of mindset you have! To change the life you have you must first change your mindset. You must ask better questions and thing better thoughts about what you DO want. Make sure it is what you want to include!

You don’t just sit in your room dreaming and wishing for these things. You are not hoping for a new life and doing nothing about it. What I propose is that you learn a powerful way to aim your mind at what it is you want so you are better equipped and more quickly able to get it. YOU make it happen. You align your thoughts and positive feelings then the actions you take come from these.

You align your mindset with what you want. Get this critical area straight first. Decide what you want and you keep your mind on it. Imagine how wonderful it is to be in possession of what you want and you feel these incredible feelings. If you are feeling wonderful as you think about what you want you are on the RIGHT track. If you don’t feel good that is a SIGNAL you are on the WRONG track.

You can monitor your thoughts by how you are feeling moment to moment. The goal is to feel the best most of the time you are awake. That is the key. Then with this mindset and wonderful feelings you do what is necessary to make your dreams come true. Your mindset precedes your actions.

IF your self-image/mindset sucks your actions will too. You won’t do the right things with the wrong thinking! Get your thinking right and everything else will fall into place.

You Can’t Escape The Power Of Your Thoughts

When your thinking is correct, you will be aware of opportunity and possible advantages and create a road map. You begin to see in new and clearer ways. Just as when you buy yourself a brand new watch, or blouse or car and suddenly you begin spotting those same items around you. You will become aware of new opportunities, events, and people to include in your life.

You need to know where you want to end up. You work to get there Along the way you may have to make adjustments and take detours. Obstacles and challenges may arise. Learn from these and keep heading toward your ultimate destination. Never give up and you will succeed.

If you build your house in sand or use faulty building materials your house will never stand for long. It will collapse. The same is true if your goals and dreams aren’t built with the proper mindset. When you build a strong foundation with positive, powerful thinking you can do anything.

Your Questions And Thoughts Serve You Or They Don’t

Think right and you will be unstoppable. Thing wrong and you will not get very far, if you get anywhere at all. What you think about is what you get and become. Manage what you think about. Ask yourself better questions that direct your mind into what you want to be, feel, do and have. I began using my Directed Questions™ by 1980 and it is powerful.

Spend your time thinking, ‘How come I am so lucky? ‘In how many different ways am I fabulous?’ Why do things always work out right for me?’ What are the best feelings I can feel today?’ How many smiles can I discover throughout this morning?’ ‘Why do I always wake up feeling wonderful?’ ‘Which of the many incredible feelings I have will I experience first today?’

Make Changes More Easily By Asking The Right Questions

‘How quickly can I notice myself feeling even more delighted?’ How much fun can I have today?’ ‘In how many different ways can I discover myself amazed and feeling blessed with all the good things I have in life? Ask questions like these again and again all day long. YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE! Invent your own and keep asking!

Successful people know how to use their mind. They know what they think, how they think and how they ask for things makes the critical difference. You can be successful too when you first learn to think successfully! Think positive. Affirm and have faith. Love yourself and your current life, celebrate and be thankful and you will move forward swiftly. Plants take time to bloom just as it takes time to build a house.

Ultimately, you will be, and do and have anything you want because you targeted it, aimed at it and never lost sight of it. You came, you saw, you conquered! Be a champion. Think like a champion and you will live like a champion!” Rex Sikes

The Number 1 Reason You Aren’t Getting What You Want!

“Are you getting what you want with ease or is it a struggle? Creation should be easy, right? It seems some people suffer for their art and for their life. Are you having difficulty with your career, hitting your goals, making your life what you want it to be? Here is  the number 1 reason you may be having difficulty.

You are not focused on what you want to the exclusion of all else. You are divided.  You are split in your attention trying to get what you want and trying to avoid what you don’t want. You are focused on your problems and trying to solve them.

A House Divided Will Fall

More of your thinking is spent concentrating on how to get your life to work INSTEAD of thinking about all the ways it already does work and being grateful. You can’t move forwards if all your time is spent thinking backwards.

Thinking about how to fix your career or life and why it is broken or not yet working will not get you a better life anytime soon? You are negatively focused while not meaning to be. You ARE getting more of what you are focused on.

Your goal or dream must be specific, detailed and stated positively in terms of what you DO want to include. It must make you feel wonderful when you think about it. If it doesn’t make you feel eager and excited and joyful when you think about it you are not thinking about it in the right way!

You Must Concentrate More On What You Want Than On What You Don’t Want

What you put your attention on is what you end up with. The reason most people don’t live the kind of life they want to live is because they are too busy solving problems. They are working hard too overcome circumstances, get out of debt, manage an illness, recover from a broken heart, disappointment or tragedy.

Their attention is on the issue and how to fix it. You can’t be living rich while focusing on not having enough. You don’t live a loving life thinking angry, hateful thoughts. If you are looking for solutions to your situation your mind is on your problems and not on what you do want.

You think it is on what you want but you are really focused on what you don’t want and how to get away from it. That is why you get more of the same thing. Birds of a feather flock together. Like attracts like. You get what you focus on. Your mindset is everything!

Drop The Delusion

Most of us grew up like this. We were told to be realistic, work hard, don’t believe in fairy tales and accept your lot in life. Other people may have it good but they were lucky or born to it. We grew up with limiting mindsets instilled in us by well intentioned people who tried to keep us from being hurt or disappointed.

We adopted limitations without question for the most part. We never even realized we were coopting their messages and making them our own. Yet, many of us, have had difficulty precisely for these reasons. We are looking in the wrong place and we are hampered by a limiting mindset.

In order to get what you want you must be focused on what you want! You can’t be trying to get away from where you are because then your focus is on where you are and what you don’t like and don’t want. The only true way to get away from it is to be thankful for everything that makes up your life!

It is counter intuitive I know but that is how it works. In order to create more of the good life on the outside in the ‘real’ world your inner world thoughts and feelings needs to be concentrated on the good life. You need to be creating joy and celebration and gratitude for everything you currently have and experience.

First Be It Then You Will Have It

If you want more joy be joyful first. If you want more love in your life be loving first. If you want more wealth feel abundance first. What ever it is that you want feel it and you will get it. Feel fear, worry, doubt and frustration and you will keep getting those. Do you get this? You become what you think about!

Your thoughts, your previous thoughts and mindset, and feelings have created your present circumstances. You are living what you have thought about. By default if you have not set any goal or dream desire to be fulfilled then you are also living what you are not thinking about. Your present is the result of your past thinking.

You perpetuate the less then glorious mindset when you do not change your thoughts. If you are still focused on solving problems you will stay where you are. Why you don’t like what is going on and how to change it will only keep you in the same circumstances.

Whatever You Have In Life You Have Created

If you want a new life you need to spend the bulk of your time  imaging what you want life to be like. You must imagine what it is you want to include and have more of. You must imagine it as if you already have it. You must dwell on thoughts of the ideal life.

Yes, it seems fanciful. Yes, it seems like you are ignoring your problems and being unrealistic. Our conditioning and habitual chronic ways of thinking will rear their heads and scream, ‘this is wrong!’ It isn’t wrong it is the way forward but it will seem foreign and unusual.

Most people never leave their comfort zone. They do the same thing again and again hoping for different results. They won’t get better results that way. In order for your life to change you must change things in your life.

You have to do things differently to get different results.

If you want you want your life to be filled with love, warmth, family, friends, romance, health, wealth and riches then these are what you need to focus on. What you focus on is what you create, attract and get.

Your energy goes where your attention goes. If you are looking for solutions to your problems your attention is focused on your problems. YOU get what YOU are focused on. Put your energy into who you want to be, what you want to do and have and keep it there regardless of what circumstances are presently.

If the sea is stormy you must have faith that you will get to your desired port. No matter how difficult aim for the port. Keep the faith. Put your attention on where you are going to end up. Keep it there.

Delight in what you want to create. Be grateful for all you presently have whatever it is. Celebrate and feel good. Have enthusiasm and passion for everything right now and the future you want. Keep the faith and expect all good things.

Feel Grateful And Celebration And Your Life Will Change More

As you do you will discover your life changing. It will take much longer if you think about what you want part of the time and then switch your attention to what you don’t want. THIS is the difficulty most people have. They go back and forth and never spend time predominantly thinking about what they want.

Train your mind to stay focused on what you do want. The good results will come more quickly. Learn to keep bringing your attention back to the good life, the good thoughts, the good feelings so that you make these the habitual thinking you live from.

As you do this you will create a glorious future. It all begins right now by what you do in this moment. For tomorrow to be what you want you must make today what you want tomorrow to be. Live, love, laugh, celebrate.

You create and attract what you put out. You get what you focus on. You become what you think about and thank about! Enjoy, celebrate and delight! Be positive and expect good things even if you don’t yet see evidence yet. If you do you soon will! Begin today. There is no better time than this moment!” Rex Sikes

One Quality You Must Have To Be Happy & Succeed!

“Do wishy washy people appeal to you? Isn’t it frustrating when a person is overly timid and will not say what the person wants? It is equally unattractive when someone is aggressive, isn’t it.  We don’t want to be around pushy, rude or threatening people either.

There are many desirable qualities to have in order to be happy and for success. One quality definitely required is assertiveness. An assertive person is neither aggressive nor passive.

Assert What You Want

Assertive is defined as confident or self confident, decisive, assured or self assured, forthright, firm, and emphatic. It means you are NOT aggressive or pushy or demanding. It means you are not cowering, afraid or too timid. It means you know what you want and can say so.

The word assured means reliable, dependable, certain, sure and secure. These qualities are ones you may need more of and that you can learn to acquire.  It is a great thing to be dependable!

When you are assertive it means you’re able to state your needs and desires confidently, in a straight forward manner, without apology. It means you are able to affirm what you want without being intimidating or threatening. You simply are confident, decisive, assured and forthright.

Be Confident And Assured You Will Make It Happen

You must be assertive to reach your goals.You must be assertive to achieve your definite chief aim or purpose. You must be assertive when it comes to making your life the way you want it to be. You cannot be wishy washy, and aggression will work against you. You must be firm, steadfast, committed and assured.

You need to know what you want. You must specify it and clarify it in your mind. You need to assert that you will get it. You believe it, you are confident and have faith you will accomplish it. You are reliable and dependable and secure in bringing it about. You think and speak what you want in positive terms and affirm this.

Affirm means to state as a fact, declare, assert, swear, vow, guarantee and pledge. It means you commit to making your goals and dreams come true and are willing to commit to it publicly. You don’t have to publicly announce your goals that isn’t the point.

Affirm It In Your Thoughts Words And Actions

It is probably wiser if you don’t. You don’t need naysayers or detractors or added pressure from peers or family. Just quietly but confidently go about creating what you want. Surprise everyone.

When you assert yourself you act with power. You are congruent in mind and body. You are at one with your purpose. You are totally aligned with what you want and your conviction that you will get it. You do not allow circumstances or others to intimidate or threaten you. You know you will see it through. Success is guaranteed!

So how do you become more assertive? The same way you become more of anything. You practice and you rehearse. You put it into motion and become it. You make being assertive a habit. That’s how you are currently the person you are. Only you did it without knowing you were doing it at the time. Now you do it with awareness and purpose!

You Are Already Who You Imagine Yourself To Be

First you become it in your mind. You imagine it in your mental movie theater. You see yourself acting assertively in situations. You imagine you already have it. If it is at first difficult to imagine yourself behaving differently look for positive role models who embody what you want.

That person could be someone you know who exemplifies it or it could be someone famous. Simply notice how they act and behave assertively and imagine you doing the same. Learn from their positive example. Leave out any personal characteristics that are not you. For example, they speak with an accent and you don’t. So don’t do it.

Use the inner theater daily, 5, 10, 20 minutes at a time, the more often and more time you can spend, at first, the more efficient you will become at doing this. Time can then be reduced. More importantly, do enough to be effective and not so much you quit. Make the time you spend manageable and enjoyable.

See yourself as an assertive person. Live your life knowing what you want, speaking it, without intimidating, but confidently, assured and positive. Notice how you look and sound. Notice how it feels to imagine this and enjoy the good feelings. Affirm this.

Make Affirmations Part Of Your Daily Thoughts And Activities

State positively that ‘I know what I want’, ‘I get what I want’, ‘I can always find a way to make it happen’ and other positive declarations. You can also phrase these as ‘You know what you want. You can make it happen.’ You can also put your own name in place of ‘I’ or ‘You’. All three are worthwhile to do.

Ask Directed Questions™ such as, ‘I wonder how delighted I will be to discover myself feeling more confident throughout each day? How much fun will it be to be more assertive in daily activities? How quickly and easily will I begin to notice, more and more each day, that I feel assured and positive that I will make my dreams come true?’

The key here is to ask open ended questions that direct your mind to what you want to have more of in your life. You want to be assertive, yes, and delighted, and notice changes, and have it easily and more quickly. So you direct your mind through positive questions.

The use of questions and affirmations help you to visualize. The point of visualizing is to create the feelings of what it feels like to already be what you want to be and have what you want to have. Together, these are a prime directive your subconscious mind gets.

Instruct Your Subconscious Mind As To What You Want

You live it first in your mind, feeling it and as you do you become it more and more in your behaviors. From within to without. Imagine it and you can become it. We become what we think about most during each day. What we think about we bring about!

Discover opportunities to clarify what you want and state it. There are numerous times throughout the day you can assert yourself. Remember to speak only in ways that bless, heal and prosper yourself and others. (See my previous posts about this). For example, act more assertive when you are ordering coffee.

Tell the individual taking your order firmly and politely what you want. Thank them. Don’t ask if you can have one, of course you can. You are paying for it. Be nice and state what you want. Practice this. Be sure to say thank you and smile. A smile shows you are friendly and you are confident.

You do the same with your goals in your mental movie theater. You first decide what you want. Stated in positive terms. Avoid stating what you don’t want. You may use what you don’t want to guide you into clarifying what you do want. Imagine yourself already in possession of it. Feel all the wonderful feelings. Savor them!

Imagine You Already Are The Person You Want To Become

Repeat daily and often throughout the day. Soon you will discover it becomes easier and easier and your behavior conforms to the image you have in your mind. Guess what, your behavior already has conformed to whatever image you have had in your life. If you don’t like the results change that inner image into a more positive and better one.

Who you are on the inside is who you are on the outside. If you want your life to change you will have to change things in your life. You must start with your own self image. You must start by evolving and updating you. You can be happier, you will have more personal and professional success as you imagine a happier and more successful you.

Make this a habit and you will be more readily able to change other habits along the way. You will become confident and secure in getting your goals. You WILL make them happen because YOU can make them happen. You will live knowing that you have the power within you to create the kind of life you want for yourself and love ones.” Rex Sikes
