3 Things You Must Do To Enjoy The Success You Want

“People want to get results. They’d like to know if there is magic or a magic formula for making their dreams come true? Some want to make sure something ‘metaphysical’ occurs when people concentrate on their goals and dreams. They want to believe the Law Of Attraction works. Don’t you? What do you want?

I think the bottom line of everything IS magic! It is true.  Everything IS energy. It all comes from the same source. Everything is vibrating. So how can it be anything else but magic.

It is true birds of a  feather flock together. People who live similar lifestyles and have similar incomes and think similar thoughts (religion and politics) tend to congregate in areas and in groups.

Yes, I think there is magic. There is energy. There is vibration. There is attraction. There is gravity. There is mastermind. Whenever two or more are gathered of like mind and purpose the effect is exponential not additive. On top of it all this we can AIM our minds. AND yes, there is a formula!

Like Attracts Like

Prior to the advent of humans on the planet there were great cataclysmic upheavals, gigantic storms, plates shifting, dinosaurs, ice ages. There were clear, warm sunny, days with gentle breeze.

There was weather of all kinds. Because there was no human living, yet, there was no one to call it a good or bad day. It just was! No one was here to say the weather spoiled their plans.

Good and bad, right and wrong are all made up in the mind. Judgements, comparisons, qualifications, reasons, excuses, blames are all completely from the mental activity of humans. Prior to humans there were none.

THIS alone should teach us not to take ourselves too seriously.

Realize It Is All In Your Mind

We suffer because of our own mental constructs. Little else is the cause of our suffering. Two people can go through the same exact circumstances. One emerges triumphant while the other is devastated. It is mind set that makes the difference.

There is magic. There is mind. Attitude is everything.

One aims their mind at making their dreams come true. It may happen quickly or it may take time. Many things take some time. Who can say? Whatever happens is what happens.

It is neither good nor bad until someone labels it such. Patience is of the mind. Frustration is of the mind. Both are energy vibrating differently.

Most of us have great difficult not judging because we were brought up to judge and evaluate by people who before us were brought up similarly. We have adopted the limitations of our teachers and models. We learned from examples.

We need not live as a victim to this conditioning. We can extract ourselves, learn to respond differently and be free. Anything is possible. Since everything is a mental construct anyway why not chose the one you want to live from?

You Can Direct Your Mind And Your Heart

Don’t live the one you were handed. Create and live your own truth. Live powerfully and positively and fully. Be alive. Celebrate. Enjoy and delight. Life is far too short for anything but love, life, laughter and positive, warm, caring relationships.

Seek the best in you, from others and in all circumstances. Never sell yourself, or anyone else, short. Believe you can and you will.

Napoleon Hill stated, and I agree, ‘whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve’. Realize there is no limitation in that statement. Whatever the mind can conceive means it is wide open.

In the image used today there is a barn and silo obviously built by humans. First it was conceived. It began in the imagination. It was dreamed and planned.

It was believed it could be accomplished or they wouldn’t have even tried. Materials and tools gathered. The structures were built. Their goal achieved. Results in. Outcome complete.

You Can Do Most Anything When You Believe You Can

What you think in the head you can one day hold in your hand. Outer results ARE the outcome of what first starts within. It begins on the inside! What we accomplish begins inside us. Between our ears and in our heart decisions are made. Yes, there is magic!

It doesn’t matter what you want to build, your career, life, your wealth, health, family, relationships, anything! Whatever you want to make happen, attract or be, have and do in your future it all begins and ends with these 3 magic steps. The formula: Conceive it, Believe It, Achieve It. Head First, Heart and Hands!

Henry Ford said, ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t you are right!’ The magic is within us.

These are the 3 mental steps to creation. Anything a human desires to make happen and get done starts in the imagination. Next comes belief it is possible and belief in seeing it through. Lastly, you work your plans to make it a reality. Head, heart, hands is the formula.

Remember: Head  Heart  Hands

To achieve it first believe that you can. Believe you are destined for it. Believe you are worthy. Believe it is yours and you shall have it. ‘Ask and it is given’. There is magic. The magic happens between your ears and in your heart.

The magic inside determines what kind of person you are. It determines who you will be and what kind of world you live in. You determine if it is a friendly, abundant place or not. You decide whether or not you are entitled to wealth, health and well- being.

What you think you become. What you focus on you get

Make life what you want it to be. Be daring and brave enough to dream really big The bigger the dream the more likely you will make it happen. After all, if you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it. SO do it! Yes, I believe in magic!” Rex Sikes

The Number 1 Reason You Aren’t Getting What You Want!

“Are you getting what you want with ease or is it a struggle? Creation should be easy, right? It seems some people suffer for their art and for their life. Are you having difficulty with your career, hitting your goals, making your life what you want it to be? Here is  the number 1 reason you may be having difficulty.

You are not focused on what you want to the exclusion of all else. You are divided.  You are split in your attention trying to get what you want and trying to avoid what you don’t want. You are focused on your problems and trying to solve them.

A House Divided Will Fall

More of your thinking is spent concentrating on how to get your life to work INSTEAD of thinking about all the ways it already does work and being grateful. You can’t move forwards if all your time is spent thinking backwards.

Thinking about how to fix your career or life and why it is broken or not yet working will not get you a better life anytime soon? You are negatively focused while not meaning to be. You ARE getting more of what you are focused on.

Your goal or dream must be specific, detailed and stated positively in terms of what you DO want to include. It must make you feel wonderful when you think about it. If it doesn’t make you feel eager and excited and joyful when you think about it you are not thinking about it in the right way!

You Must Concentrate More On What You Want Than On What You Don’t Want

What you put your attention on is what you end up with. The reason most people don’t live the kind of life they want to live is because they are too busy solving problems. They are working hard too overcome circumstances, get out of debt, manage an illness, recover from a broken heart, disappointment or tragedy.

Their attention is on the issue and how to fix it. You can’t be living rich while focusing on not having enough. You don’t live a loving life thinking angry, hateful thoughts. If you are looking for solutions to your situation your mind is on your problems and not on what you do want.

You think it is on what you want but you are really focused on what you don’t want and how to get away from it. That is why you get more of the same thing. Birds of a feather flock together. Like attracts like. You get what you focus on. Your mindset is everything!

Drop The Delusion

Most of us grew up like this. We were told to be realistic, work hard, don’t believe in fairy tales and accept your lot in life. Other people may have it good but they were lucky or born to it. We grew up with limiting mindsets instilled in us by well intentioned people who tried to keep us from being hurt or disappointed.

We adopted limitations without question for the most part. We never even realized we were coopting their messages and making them our own. Yet, many of us, have had difficulty precisely for these reasons. We are looking in the wrong place and we are hampered by a limiting mindset.

In order to get what you want you must be focused on what you want! You can’t be trying to get away from where you are because then your focus is on where you are and what you don’t like and don’t want. The only true way to get away from it is to be thankful for everything that makes up your life!

It is counter intuitive I know but that is how it works. In order to create more of the good life on the outside in the ‘real’ world your inner world thoughts and feelings needs to be concentrated on the good life. You need to be creating joy and celebration and gratitude for everything you currently have and experience.

First Be It Then You Will Have It

If you want more joy be joyful first. If you want more love in your life be loving first. If you want more wealth feel abundance first. What ever it is that you want feel it and you will get it. Feel fear, worry, doubt and frustration and you will keep getting those. Do you get this? You become what you think about!

Your thoughts, your previous thoughts and mindset, and feelings have created your present circumstances. You are living what you have thought about. By default if you have not set any goal or dream desire to be fulfilled then you are also living what you are not thinking about. Your present is the result of your past thinking.

You perpetuate the less then glorious mindset when you do not change your thoughts. If you are still focused on solving problems you will stay where you are. Why you don’t like what is going on and how to change it will only keep you in the same circumstances.

Whatever You Have In Life You Have Created

If you want a new life you need to spend the bulk of your time  imaging what you want life to be like. You must imagine what it is you want to include and have more of. You must imagine it as if you already have it. You must dwell on thoughts of the ideal life.

Yes, it seems fanciful. Yes, it seems like you are ignoring your problems and being unrealistic. Our conditioning and habitual chronic ways of thinking will rear their heads and scream, ‘this is wrong!’ It isn’t wrong it is the way forward but it will seem foreign and unusual.

Most people never leave their comfort zone. They do the same thing again and again hoping for different results. They won’t get better results that way. In order for your life to change you must change things in your life.

You have to do things differently to get different results.

If you want you want your life to be filled with love, warmth, family, friends, romance, health, wealth and riches then these are what you need to focus on. What you focus on is what you create, attract and get.

Your energy goes where your attention goes. If you are looking for solutions to your problems your attention is focused on your problems. YOU get what YOU are focused on. Put your energy into who you want to be, what you want to do and have and keep it there regardless of what circumstances are presently.

If the sea is stormy you must have faith that you will get to your desired port. No matter how difficult aim for the port. Keep the faith. Put your attention on where you are going to end up. Keep it there.

Delight in what you want to create. Be grateful for all you presently have whatever it is. Celebrate and feel good. Have enthusiasm and passion for everything right now and the future you want. Keep the faith and expect all good things.

Feel Grateful And Celebration And Your Life Will Change More

As you do you will discover your life changing. It will take much longer if you think about what you want part of the time and then switch your attention to what you don’t want. THIS is the difficulty most people have. They go back and forth and never spend time predominantly thinking about what they want.

Train your mind to stay focused on what you do want. The good results will come more quickly. Learn to keep bringing your attention back to the good life, the good thoughts, the good feelings so that you make these the habitual thinking you live from.

As you do this you will create a glorious future. It all begins right now by what you do in this moment. For tomorrow to be what you want you must make today what you want tomorrow to be. Live, love, laugh, celebrate.

You create and attract what you put out. You get what you focus on. You become what you think about and thank about! Enjoy, celebrate and delight! Be positive and expect good things even if you don’t yet see evidence yet. If you do you soon will! Begin today. There is no better time than this moment!” Rex Sikes

How You Live Right This Moment Is Critical! The Secret Only A Few Know & Use!

“Do you want it yesterday? Some people are impatient for results to show up. Are you one of them? You can’t rush the growth of a flower or a tree. Babies take time to grow into adults. You cannot force the sun to rise. Why are you in such a hurry?

It seems some people want to escape the now and they want to do it quickly. They don’t like where they are at and want a big change to make everything different and better. Occasionally, that happens but in reality most things happen in the same way wine improves. Over time.

I have written on patience and how to wait. You may want to go and explore some of my previous blogs. Most people in Hollywood know an overnight success means 10 to 15 years of work first. So expect to wait, be okay with it and you will fare far better.

Create The Invite And Send It Out

Here is the deal. When you put out a party invitation you send out the word and then you wait for the people to arrive. You can either wait well or poorly.

You can either enjoy what is going on right now while waiting for your guests to arrive or you can worry, fear, doubt, and micromanage each moment. Which do you prefer it to be? Pleasant or painful it is up to you.

Neither of these two ways has any impact of who shows up or when? You have no control over that. The only thing you do have control over is how you wait and whether or not you enjoy the duration. In the same way some people try to push a rope, they try to push the results they get.

They fret, worry, try to do more, they fear, they think there is more to do, something else needs to be done. It becomes an ongoing, endless cycle as the they try to insure they will get their way. I think of it as fishing.

What Kind Of Fisher Are You

You get the proper bait as best you can for what you want to catch. You drop the line and relax. Let the fish take the bait because you can’t make it take it. You can only appeal to it. The fish takes it when it takes it.

You can be frustrated or you can enjoy the time you spend near or on the water. It is up to you.

The key to making you dreams come true is intent. Clarify what you want, be precise, be specific. Focus on it, be passionate it about it, feel wonderful and keep it in mind. Imagine it as if you already have it. Celebrate and be grateful and enjoy the marvelous feelings.

Let Go

Part of getting is receiving. Be open, be receptive, be patient, be relaxed and enjoy the meantime. Live in this time with great delight. Enjoy now! Live in gratitude, with passion and enthusiasm.  Don’t keep checking or comparing. Stop digging up the seeds to see if they are growing.

Let go and be open to receive. Let the guests arrive when and as they do. Stop trying to force and allow. You may be the creator and you may be the attractor but allow yourself to relax and let it come to you.

You Sent Out The Invitation Let It Arrive When And As It Does

We work during the day and we rest during the night. Rest. Trust. Accept. Allow. Enjoy!  This is important. This is a huge part of getting what you want. This is a part many miss. They are so busy managing they don’t realize they are pushing it away.

Have faith. Believe it is coming. Expect it is coming and relax. Trust means you don’t fight for it because you already know it is yours. This relaxed confidence is as much an important part as the effort you put into your thoughts.

Delight and feel wonderful. How you live now is critical! Don’t sacrifice now for the future. Enjoy now and your future will be enjoyable too. Whatever effort you put into making your dreams come true put equal amounts of faith and fun.

Be glad now! Celebrate now! Be grateful now and you will have more to celebrate and be grateful for in the future. Keep this in mind. YOU plant the seeds and you wait for them to grow and flourish. You nurture and you trust.

You Can’t Force The Seed To Grow

If you know this at some level apply it to your dreams and your goals. Relax! Trust. Be open and receptive. Allow yourself to accept them into your life. Stop trying so hard. Do and trust. Keep trusting. Keep celebrating and living in gratitude. Enjoy this moment while you wait. Then you are not waiting you are fully living!” Rex Sikes

What You Do While Waiting To Succeed Is Critical!

“Have you ever planted a garden? Have you ever tended to living, growing plants? As a child in school or as an adult did you help grow anything? Did you germinate seeds? Do you remember the process? Do you recall the time it took? You had to wait, didn’t you? Whether you liked it or not you had to wait.

People are in a hurry. They want everything fast and they want it yesterday. Well, some things just take time.  For everything there is as season. You just have to endure winter when it is upon you. It still takes the same amount of time whether you like it or not.

Patience Is How You Wait When You Have To Wait

How you go through it though makes the difference. Summer is shorter typically because we enjoy it more. Most of us. If we enjoy something time seems to go by quickly. Too quick. The key to being patient, when you have to, is HOW you spend your time.

If you are having fun and enjoying it will go by quickly. If you are counting the days and comparing the distance between now and then it will seem to take forever. Waiting is completely dependent on you and how you wait. If you are desperate it sucks. If you are fulfilled while you wait it is a breeze.

Growing up as an actor in Hollywood I discovered everyone wants to ‘break through’ to ‘hit it’ to become an ‘overnight sensation’ this moment. Especially teens and twenty somethings. At that age we want it all!  In the film business, most everyone comes to realize, an overnight success takes between 10 and 15 years.

You Cannot Rush It You Cannot Push A Rope

It is not just a saying. It is a reality. Few pop. Most take years and years. Exceptions are child stars. Look at anyone’s credits on imdb and you will see most started with uncredited roles or one liners and worked hard at it, for years, before you or I ever heard of them. They put in years worth of work before anyone noticed. During that time countless thousands of others gave up.

Those who keep at it usually have success of some kind. Those who quit, well, they quit. If you stop and give up, then you stopped. If you keep going you can prevail. Being patient doesn’t mean you don’t do anything while waiting it means you keep moving forward and keep the faith. What you think and do while you wait is critical!

You have to believe in yourself and what you want. You have to keep faith in your ability to accomplish what you set out to do.  You have to know in your heart that you will make it happen in spite of the odds and the time it takes. You have to know that you can do it and will do it!

Don’t Give Up If You Want To Succeed Keep At It

There will be obstacles, set backs and temporary defeat but if you keep at it you can accomplish it. You can and you will!

Did you know that most successful people nearly gave up just prior to gaining their success? Did you know that prior to ‘popping’ most experienced their biggest ‘failures’?  They were nearly crushed and threw in the towel. Those who did not went on to success.

Did you know the first million seems the toughest to make? Do you know Researchers like Napoleon Hill, going back over 100 years ago discovered this and it remains true today. It always seems darkest right before the dawn. Out of chaos and calamity stars are born!

Stay Focused Stay Purposed Stay Passionate And Have Fun

Any worthy purpose takes time to come into being. Be absolutely clear on what you want and you absolutely want it no matter what. If you believe in yourself that you can make it happen then you can find legitimate means to bring it to pass. Stay focused! Stay purposed! Stay Passionate!

When you plant seeds they germinate. The seed must crack open and send out shoots into prepared soil where it can grow in the cover of darkness for however long it takes. It takes time and we can’t see it. We have to believe all is well and make sure it gets nourished. Then one day it breaks forth from the ground a tiny plant.

With continued nourishment it can continue to grow. Depending on what you planted it could be a flower, a food, or a giant tree. It all takes times. It takes whatever time it takes. Ultimately, it produces more seeds and the cycle continues. All the while we wait patiently there is activity. Their is growth and development.

Keep The Faith You Will Succeed 

Patience is a quality you have. It is HOW you wait. It means expect to win while you wait. It means do whatever is necessary knowing your efforts will pay off even if you can’t see the results today. Stay steady and stay consistent. Step by step you get there. Persist!

It means you can’t hurry or rush it. Take steps each day and nourish your success. Stick with it and you will make progress. What you planted you will one day reap. Don’t abandon your positive garden! How you wait is important! Affirm, acknowledge, stay positive.

Focus on the end result. You can glance at present circumstances or difficulty as you do your dash board indicators, while driving, but keep you eyes on the road ahead and keep faith in your heart. You may need to adjust your plans or take detours occasionally but keep on going. Know your destination and keep traveling to get there. You will. Be patient” Rex Sikes

Learn The One Thing Guaranteed To Improve Your Life, Longevity & Happiness?

“If there was one thing you could do that would improve your attitude, your mental health and even your physical health would you want to know what it is? Would you do it? Are you interested in maximizing your potential and the quality of your life? If you are please read on.

In my last blog I emphasized recognizing, acknowledging and appreciating your strengths, talents and abilities. Celebrate you good points and your strong ones. This is important for a couple of reasons.

Search Ask Questions

Your mental search and discovery is extremely useful. When you set your mind to look for the positive things about you you will find them.  This is precisely why asking better quality positive questions is so important. It is why I have recommended Directed Questions™ for so many years.

Unfortunately, many, if not most people, look for the negative. Don’t worry you will find those as well if you bother to look. Your mind will deliver whatever you focus on and it will deliver multiple examples. Birds of a feather flock together is a useful reminder.

It comes up with more that one answer because part of the way the mind works is by association. It finds relevant, similar examples to deliver. So you want good taste to prevail. You want to be smart about what you search for. Search for what you want to find.

When you search for positive, strengths and abilities you will find them. If you are one of the few who can’t seem to remember many examples at first just keep looking. Keep asking ‘what am I good at?’ ‘what is something else I am good at’ or ‘what other things am I good at?’ Continue to probe and to prod and the answers will soon come.

Reflect And Review

Think about how you interact with people.  What you do in the form of activities, work and play? Where you spend time?  What you know or are knowledgeable about? Sometimes finding the answers comes from adjusting the question or a word.

For those who think, I am not good at anything (because their use of good represents too high of a standard) they may have to  first think about those things they do well at or just better than other things. You may have to keep asking in different ways. In actual use getting answers back from your own brain is pretty darn easy. Keep asking!

Focus on the type of answers you want. What you excel at or in. These constitute resources you have from your past. They are your strong points that you can apply in your present or future. They are things about yourself to celebrate and appreciate. They are part of you and your history. They are your present and your future too.

Remembering and counting these as blessings can help you feel better and be more positive because you focus on your strengths. You set your mind thinking along intentional productive lines. You are more positive because you can find examples in your own history of things you succeed at or accomplish well.

Realize And  Recognize

Discover the many different areas you have strengths in and the many additional strengths you have yet to realize. Then keep doing it.  Keep doing it. Search, find, recognize, validate and celebrate!

The way to stay more youthful,  have more fun, feel better, think better and clearer is to keep learning new things. Learning is the key. It is the answer!  When you set out to learn something you establish a purpose or goal. Stay a perpetual learner. It keeps you healthier!

Do you want to be able to ski, to sew, to sell, to speak better. Whatever you want to learn you start off with no ability or not knowing how. You negotiate a learning curve all the while practicing or playing. As you continue you learn to get better or even good at it. You have set a goal and a direction to travel in. Then you traveled.

This is beneficial for many reasons. When you learn new things you have to engage in new behaviors, new thoughts, new  ways and different ways of understanding. You need to create new neural pathways. You add newness to your existing skill base.

Celebrate And Delight Be Happy

You actually grow your brain capacity by adding to the neural networks. As you learn and incorporate new abilities and overcome new challenges you keep your brain healthier because the brain loves challenges. It likes puzzles and things to do. It thrives on novelty and being used. You know the saying, use it or lose it.

Use your brain! Use your body to learn a variety of new things. Dedicate yourself to picking up new skills and talents. Have fun discovering other things you may enjoy doing and learning about. Read about them yes, but don’t just read about them get up and out and do them. Consider learning new things you never considered before. Learn on your own and with others. Take classes, get involved. Meet others!

Research has demonstrated that just learning fine finger motor skills such as playing keyboard and stringed instruments, or even finger movement exercises does much to improve overall cognition, keep the brain young and prevent dementia. Exercise and sports contribute to overall well-being and physical health when done properly. Learn new things to do! Get positive mental, emotional and physical stimulation.

Learn to sing, play piano, paint, ski, draw, act, or dance. Sit down and write a play, a script a novel. Learn computer programming or gaming. Take up filmmaking, photography, sports, biking, yoga, any form of art or crafts. Go for Formula 1 driving lessons. ANYTHING! Try crossword puzzles and board games like chess. Challenge yourself. There is so much to choose from. Never limit yourself! Get a coach or mentor!

Keep Learn New Skills Add To Your Strengths

You do not have to go skydiving. Certainly, you can but this isn’t about risk. It is about learning a new ability and adding it to your behavior repertoire. See my previous blogs about adding novelty to your daily routine. Your brain loves novelty. Spice up your days add in novelty. Do things a new and different way. Challenge yourself.

When you have a youthful brain, a positively focused brain, a happier you, you feel and act and behave healthier. You can be healthier too! When you align yourself mentally, emotionally, spiritually you align physically too. Of course, learning to do healthy things and incorporate these into your daily routine helps as well.

Practice well being in mind, body and soul. Every day allows you the opportunity to learn or practice something. Each day you can discover new ways to improve yourself and others.  Continue to learn, grow and develop yourself and you can find so much more to be joyous and excited about.

It gives you something to look forward to. So look to your passions. Try things out. Explore and adventure for new things to add into your behavioral repertoire and you knowledge base. Have fun, skip, sing, dance, doodle, and enjoy finding out more of what you are good at. A flower either grows and blooms or withers and dies. Keep growing!” Rex Sikes

A Surefire Way To Drop Your Negativity & Move Forward

They create what they don’t intend to. They get exactly what they don’t want to get because they are focused on what they don’t want almost exclusively. Do you sometimes do this? Is this you?

The ones who get what they intend to do so because they are focued on what they want exclusively. Those who get unintended results don’t aim their intentions at their goal or dream. They don’t intend to be rich or happy they just don’t want to be broke or sad. They literally create or attract what they hope to avoid.

What you resist, persist. What you think about you bring about.

Zero Productivity + Zero Positivity + Negativity = Negativity

Most people aren’t engaged in disaster thinking all day or all week. They are engaged in mostly ZERO productivity, Zero positive, Zero intentional thinking all day all week. They aren’t using their brains to get ahead but they are using them to stay where they are.

Doing more of the same thing doesn’t get you out. If you are in a hole you have to stop digging. If your car is stuck in the mud turning your tires faster won’t get you out unless it makes the correct contact. If you are drifting at see you are drifting and not getting anywhere fast.

So stop digging and stop spinning your wheels and learn to take control of your mind. Take charge of your thoughts and start creating what you want. You will not get the results you want if your thoughts are useless. If the bulk of your thinking is Zero Productive and Negative most of the time you don’t move forward.

Learn To Create What You Want To Create

Become intentional in your thinking. It is either productive or not. Positive or not. It either gets you closer to your dream or it doesn’t. Evaluate! Is what you are thinking and doing getting you closer or further away from your goals?

Are you getting closer or further away from where you want to be? Are you happy with the results you are getting? Is you positive energy ball larger or smaller than your negative energy ball? To which are you adding your energy too

My regular readers should remember: Imagine on one side you have a ball of negative thoughts and energy above your head. On the other side of you is a ball of positive thoughts and energy. Which is larger? Which ball do you contribute the most energy and thought to most of the time?

This will determine where you are heading and what you are getting. If you want to get your desires you have to do what gets you them. Nothing else will do it and no one else can do it for you. Either you will or you won’t.

Either you ARE thinking positive right now or you aren’t. Whatever else you are thinking IS NOT positive, it is not intentional. It isn’t helping but it could be harming you. It is keeping you where you are. Keep all this in mind.

How To Make The Law Of Attraction Not Work For You

The very reason some people claim the Law Of Attraction or positive thinking doesn’t work for them IS because they are distracted most of the time. They drift but don’t realize it.

They don’t take responsibility for their thinking but hope that something from the outside will rescue them. They do not do what they need to to make it work. So they give up and blame instead. They say I tried but IT didn’t work.

What they are focused on doesn’t count or may be counter productive. SO they are are bad off, or stuck or not getting ahead very fast and they worry and wonder why it is not working.

Do you get it? Do you understand. THAT very thinking, that worry, is part of the negative distracting thinking. They are just piling more of it on because they are not aware that they are doing it. Instead of changing their thinking they are doing the same thing again without realizing it.

Awareness is the key to change. You have to examine and become aware. You have to evaluate and do something about what you discover. If you change nothing nothing will change.That is why doing the same thing over again BUT expect different results IS the definition of insanity.

If You Are Positive And Intentional Then What Are You?

They heap on the negativity while concerned that positive thinking isn’t working. IT IS BECAUSE THEY AREN”T REALLY THINKING POSITIVE YET!!!! OR AT LEAST NOT MOST OF THE TIME!

Most of the time they are distracted. They are zero thinking. They are engaged in negative thinking, or they are worried or fearful but they are NOT positive thinking even thought they think they are. They deceive themselves.

The LOA isn’t something that swoops in from outside you to rescue you it is something you learn to apply. It isn’t a thing it is a process. It isn’t something separate from you. It is you!

Either you create what you want or you don’t because of what you are thinking and doing. Either you attract what you want or not because of what you are thinking and doing.

The LOA isn’t something that works for you or doesn’t. YOU either work for you or you don’t. You are either your own best friend and ally or you are not. You are either a positive intentional creator who is happy and healthy and enjoys life or you aren’t. You are either optimistic or pessimistic.

The good news is if you aren’t happy where you are or with the results you have been getting you can get different results and learn to become happier. If you want it though it is up to you.

You can get it  but you are the one doing it. No one and nothing else. It isn’t some magical force the LOA it is you going after and making happen what you want to happen.

Awareness Is The Key That Unlocks The Door

This is why awareness is the key. You have to monitor and correct. When you are off course you have to navigate back onto course. This is what those people fail to do. They continue to sail more and more off course with their thinking. Then they blame everything!

This is what we need to become aware of. This is what you need to notice and stop if this is what you do.  You have to stop digging the hole, stop spinning the wheels ,stop heaping negativity onto your zero thinking. STOP! NO excuses, no whining and blaming. Take full responsibility and you will change your life.

Stop – evaluate – change direction and set the course again. THEN ACT! Do what you need to do repeatedly until you get the results. When you again discover yourself off course – repeat process – and get back on course. THIS IS HOW YOU GET THERE!

Be honest about what you are doing. Is your energy focused on the positive energy ball or the negative one? Make sure what you are doing contributes to your well-being.

If you aren’t sure seek out some positive people to assist you. Read inspirational material. Fill your mind with positive, possible intentional thinking.

Believe in yourself! If you don’t have faith in you, yet, start. Take it step by step. Just as a new young human learns to walk you may fall many times. That is part of the learning, That is part of the correction process.

There Is Learning and There Is Unlearning: You Need Both

The baby learns all their skills and balancing through falling and stumbling and eliminating movement that are not necessary to move forward.  When you watch a child begin their movements are exaggerated and bit by bit reduced to only those necessary to succeed at the task they are learning.

Whether they are learning to sit up, feed oneself or walk a large part of their learning process is undoing these exaggerated movements. The young child is honing behaviors and eliminate those that don’t contribute to what the child is attempting to do.

The learning is about learning to UNDO as much as it is learning new things to do. It is the same with Intentional Positive Thinking. You undo the distractions, the Negative Zero Thinking, while learning to focus on the Intentional positive thinking.

You Succeed When You Create Positive Successful Habits

Both forms of thinking get you results.  Negative Zero Thinking  is haphazard and you end up where you don’t want. Intentional Positive Thinking is targeted and takes you to your goal. It is your decision which one you engage in most of the time. It is up to you to decide each moment which you pick.

One is a habit. It is the one you do most of the time already. You can change this. If it isn’t the Intentional Positive Thinking it can be. It can  become a habit too and serve you wonderfully and productively.

If you want to get positive results you must do what it takes to make it habit. You have to become aware of your thinking and honestly evaluate.

IS what you are thinking and doing getting you closer to what you want? If yes continue. If no, stop. Change what you are doing. Make adjusts and continue this process until until it becomes a habit.

Research suggests that you can undo a bad habit and learn a new positive habit in as little as 21 days of regular repeated correct practice. It can be done but some people take longer.

Give yourself a couple or a few months. Dedicate yourself to a new, improved you. Begin by making your dreams come true. Focus on what you want. Create what you intend to create!” Rex Sikes

How To Stop Getting Screwed Over By Your Own Negativity

“Do you realize that you create whatever you spend your time thinking about? Whatever most occupies your attention is what you bring forth. Success of Failure in career or life is determined by your mindset. You become what you think about most often.

If most of your time is spent thinking about nothing you create nothing. If most of your time is spent in worry, fear, and doubt that is what you end up with in your lives. If you try avoiding what you don’t want you end up getting that most of the time. It just works this way.

If you are DISTRACTED and NOT THINKING about what you want or you are thinking NEGATIVELY (disaster thinking) or THINKING about what you DON’T WANT (fear, worry, blame, whining, lack) instead of focusing on what you absolutely do want and concentrating on what you do want you aren’t going to get there.

You will get all that you don’t want instead!

You Are What You Are Not Thinking About Too

Whatever you are not thinking about you become too. If you have no predominant desire, no pursuit, then you aren’t going to make anything happen. You are drifting. You go where the wind takes you.

This is why your goals must become magnificent obsessions. You must have positive burning desires and passionate pursuits if you want career success and happiness in life. You become what you think about. Right now, your life circumstances.

You Are Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You

Your thoughts have brought you here. If you are very pleased, congratulations. If you chose to you can make it even more wonderful! If you don’t like it, hang in there, you can absolutely make it better. It is simple and it will require some dedication BUT you can make it wonderful when you chose to!

You are here because of your previous thoughts. Your thinking. You are where your thoughts brought you. This is the result. Your thoughts will take you into tomorrow. You will be wherever your thoughts take you. You can’t escape the power of your thoughts.

Let go of events, circumstances and people in the world that don’t take you where you want to go. You must not get caught up in these easy and far too frequent distractions. It does not contribute to your well being to be caught up and focused on less than glorious things.

Focus and navigate to your destination without being too concerned about the present condition of the sea. Yes, you must negotiate troubled waters but not with fear. When you travel with confidence you will get through them. Attitude determines what we think is possible. It governs what we do and don’t do.

Stop Getting Caught In Less Than Productive Thinking

Negative thinking IS getting caught in the details and worrying about how you will make it happen. It is thinking in ways that limit you. It is worrying about what might or could go wrong and how it is or isn’t happening. Negative thinking is thinking you don’t have enough knowledge, will-power, personality to make it.

It is micromanaging from fear and doubt instead of seeing the big picture. It is trying to arrange all the details and plan all the steps prior to doing anything. Negative thinking is focusing on why you can’t and how you aren’t able to get what we want.

You have to keep an eye on the big picture and the prize. You have to know, that no matter what, even if you don’t know how or have all the details yet, you can and will get through it because that is the kind of person you are. Believe in yourself. Believe you will take the right steps to make it happen. Believe you can adjust if necessary.

Trust YOU! Have faith in yourself and your abilities. Faith hones creative power to manifest what is needed at the right time, regardless of the obstacles, challengers and temporary defeat. Know you will succeed even when you aren’t sure how. Conquer your problems and your fears. Live and think as a champion.

Tomorrow You Will Be Where Your Thoughts Today Take You

How isn’t as important as the why. The method is not as important as knowing you can do it. Most people get far too caught up in details. They want tools, techniques, procedures, rules and if they can’t figure out how first then they won’t act. They wait. They procrastinate. It is not that they don’t act. IT is that they WON’T act.

They put it off hoping to figure it all out and be assured of success prior to taking a single step. It rarely, if ever, works this way. The how is never explained until after the act is completed. Edison didn’t know what would make a light bulb work until after 10,000 tries.

You won’t know the precise ‘how’ before you do it. Afterwards you might. Once he got it to work it was clear to him. Prior to that moment he just kept pursuing it until it came to him. He didn’t sit and wait. He didn’t complain and he didn’t give up.

You Can Not Escape The Results Of Your Thoughts

He kept going in spite of not knowing what the answer was. One day his mind put two and two together and he realized he needed a particular filament and a vacuum tube. He knew what he wanted and he persisted in spite of all odds.

Edison kept the faith and adjusted what he was doing as necessary. Success was assured IN HIS MIND prior to getting any actual results in the world. This is the mindset you and I and everyone needs.

You have to focus your energy and attention around something. You can’t be scattered. You can’t drift. This is why you must have know your purpose and have a positive burning desire and passionate pursuit in fulfilling it.

Your Intentional Positive Thoughts Produce Positive Results

You become what you think about. Stop worrying about how you will make it happen and focus on why it is important to make it happen. Get inspired and motivated to act. Make it your magnificent obsession and keep pursuing it and you will unleash your creativity.

If you get caught in specifics it is dull, boring and annoying. It depletes your energy. You want to keep your energy charged for accomplishing your desires. You want to enjoy life and feel your best while you make your dreams come true.

Thinking too small, having no focus, no direction, being too scattered and thinking about what you DO NOT want, is all negative thinking. Negative means it produces negative results. It does not get you closer to what you want. It produces less than glorious results. You get results other than what you intend.

That is why I call positive thinking Intentional Thinking. I think it helps describe it better.  People have come to misunderstand the notion of positive thinking. The term positive thinking carries too much baggage.

You Are A Creator Whether You Want To Be Or Not

You create what you intend to create! You even will create what you don’t intend to and that is what most people are doing. They get exactly what they don’t want to get because they are focused on what they don’t want almost exclusively.

I’ll share more in Part 3. This is why the ancient texts all the way to the New Thought Leaders point out you must make it deliberate. Creation is a deliberate act! You must be clear on what you want and determined to get it. Know what you want!

You must be emotionally involved to the utmost and have a burning desire for its completion. You must have complete faith that you will succeed no matter what the obstacles to engage your inner processes and resources to make it happen. If you do these you will have whatever you want.

Purpose, Passion, Faith And Persistence Make It Happen

Perhaps The Most Important Question You Ever Ask Yourself

“As a young actor, with my buddies at the time, we entertained a question. Turns out it is a very important question. At the time we only gave lip service to it but didn’t ask it in our hearts. Maybe the others did but I certainly didn’t. It was nothing more to me than a mere intellectual curiosity.

That question was and is, ‘If your success were absolutely guaranteed 25 or more years from now. Without question, you would be then a huge star. You would have everything you want. It is yours. How would you live your life between now and then?’

(Okay – housekeeping note – this is a long one. But do please read to the end. I didn’t want to divide it into installments as I could have.)

Most of us assumed we would stay in workshops and continue the pursuit. Then after discussing the question we continued to do what a lot of actors and others do. We went on complaining about our agents, managers, the casting directors who weren’t seeing us and all the producers and directors who were missing out on our great talents.

We went to classes, those who had part time jobs did them, others worked full time while trying to pursue a career. Some married and with children some without. Juggling a career in the movie business with partner, kids and job can be quite a challenge. Being single, lonely and alone is challenging too.

It is hard in show biz and you know what, it is hard in any career. Becoming an actor, film director, producer, writer, editor and all the rest it’s tough to get in and it is tough to sustain. There is no formula you can follow out of college. Everyone succeeds is an individually unique way.

While traditional businesses offer more provincial routes to success it is not easy there either. Whether you want to be a doctor, lawyer, politician, engineer, realtor, investor, banker, fireman, educator and on and on each has there own share of difficulty and sacrifices that require making.

So back to the question regardless of what career you are in or which one you want to be in. Back to the question even if it isn’t a career that concerns you but life in general. “What would you do if happiness and success were absolutely guaranteed but not for a very long time from now? How would you live between now and then?’

Here is the reason I ask. In order to succeed in anything, the easiest way is to believe you will succeed. You have to know what you want, you have to have a burning desire for its fulfillment and you have to have faith that it is yours and on the way.

You must believe you can make it happen. These were conditions and principles put forth by Andrew Carnegie (at one time the world’s richest man) and through Napoleon Hill (the author of Think & Grow Rich) commissioned by Carnegie to study success.

Hill stated that, ‘whatever the mind of can conceive and believe can be achieved’. It begins with thought and how we manage our thought. It is brought forth by our intense feelings, our passion and desire for its attainment.

It is delivered through unrelenting faith that we will succeed no matter what obstacles rise up before us. It is ours and we will persist until we can claim it.

Said another way, ‘What we hold in our head we will some day hold in our hands’, and ‘What we think about we bring about’. I would add in, ‘what we totally feel in our hearts, all the incredible feelings’ puts the fuel in our engines to get us where we want to go.

Great, we know the formula. What does that have to do with the question. The question is what do you do between now and then when success is unconditionally guaranteed? If you believe that is true, which I did not as a young actor, I thought it was a nice, fanciful idea but nothing is guaranteed, you will operate in a particular way.

You will live from this conviction and it will shape everything you think and do. If you unquestionably know it is yours you live with the confidence that you will have it. It feels good to own it even if it takes a while to claim it. It is yours. It is a given. You are successful and happy. Why would you ever let anything rain on your parade in the meantime?

You have everything you want coming to you. Celebrate and be glad. If you compare now to then and you focus on what you don’t yet have then you get pain and end up in a world of hurt. THAT is what I did. I thought, nice idea but I am suffering and I need it now. You must not think like that!

You must focus on what you want and what you know is coming your way and not on what you don’t want and don’t have.

You will never be happy or successful focused on negativity. You won’t get rich focused on lack. You get happy and rich and successful by first being those on the inside. If you knew ultimately you would triumph why would you ever chose not to live like a successful, happy victor? You wouldn’t if you were convinced you would be, do and have everything you want.

That is Carnegie’s and Hill’s third principle. In order to be successful you must expect to be successful. You must know it in your mind and heart and soul and in every fiber of your being. You must be unstoppable and never deterred.

Every cell, every atom in you knows you will win. This is the mindset we must have to have what we want.

Instead, I focused on my bills, girlfriends or no girlfriends, not having the big home or cars as others did. I focused more on how I wasn’t working enough and how unfair it was that others got breaks that I didn’t. On and on and on it went. I was consumed by all the woe in my life. Whether actual or imagined.

So the question was posed, I thought about it and dismissed it as a curiosity. Nice to entertain but unrealistic. Yet, later I learned that Hill studied over 500 of the wealthiest, most successful powerhouses of his day and that since his work others have done similar and guess what.

Carnegie and Hill were correct. You have to know what you want. You have to feel it as already belonging to you.  You have to know this and want it and feel it coming to you with your entire being! You must keep that faith. In the future you are already victorious! You will have everything you want when you truly believe it.

Decades ago I would have called that magical or mystical,fairytale thinking. Nice but cheesy. NOW I know so much better how true it actually it is.  It has worked in my own life and continues to and I have seen it work, and helped make it work in countless others’ lives.

When we know what we want we determine where we want to end up. We know what the end result is. We do not yet have to know how to get there but we must know what we want to be, do and have. If we don’t define it and clarify it there is nothing to aim at. The mind needs a well defined clear target.

We must feel it with a burning desire. If we don’t want if very much we won’t do very much to make it happen. We will be lazy and accept whatever. We will drift and not amount to much of anything.

Think about all those romance movies where the valiant swashbuckling hero has to overcome all sorts of tremendous odds in order to win the lady’s heart. He has to win her, overcome insurmountable odds and difficulties and make it back to claim her love.

He has to really want her to fight for her all the way! He has to know that he will fight to the death and come away winning her hand or he is not all in. You must be all in. You must be passionately and wholly committed. You can’t play half assed and expect to win the prize.

WHY? because with a clear target and positive powerful emotions your brain then totally gets it. There is no question about what it is you desire. It is completely clear. Message received!

In order to keep the mind on track you have to stay on target. That is where faith and feelings come in. You have to feel it is yours. You deserve it. It is yours no question.

There are no doubts, no worry, no fears. It is only a matter of time that this or something better will be fulfilled. You are all in and will never give up no matter what.

Now your brain goes to work for you. It makes connections, associations, organizes and utilizes  all your resources and abilities to help you make it happen. You become confident in yourself, positive and powerful.

You trust yourself to make it happen. Where there is will there is a way. You are a champion, of course you will triumph! There is no other outcome that could happen. Your success is guaranteed!

Your mind is alerted to possibilities and opportunities. You become sensitized to these in the same way as when you purchase a new car and suddenly, notice all the same make and model on the streets. You look for opportunity and discover them where none seemed to previously exist.

You find yourself drawn to likeminded positive successful people. You discover events and circumstances working for you. Obstacles and challenges provide lessons which you extract, and you adapt and adopt and continue to move forward.

If you know success is yours you let nothing stand in the way. You know that ultimately nothing can or will prevent you from claiming what it is you want. You are already a success within!

So while it may sound like magic this is what we have learned from successful people during the past century and from well beyond that. This is how the kings and rulers think. This is how those born to wealth and privilege think. This is how the successful shakers and doers think. Their mindset paves the way for the results they want to achieve. ‘As above so below. As within so without.’

It is true there are some of trust fund babies who squander their good fortune and make a mess of their lives. By far the majority of successful people will, IF THEY WANT YOU TO KNOW IT, tell you they always knew they would do well and succeed at whatever they wanted. There was NEVER any question. NEVER ANY QUESTION!

For the rest of us we need to cultivate this mindset. We weren’t born into circumstances where we grew up knowing one day all this would be ours. We didn’t have a life where money was no object.

Anything and everything at anytime could be had for a price and we could afford it. We didn’t live this way. Good or bad, right or wrong, thankfully or not we have to develop the winner attitude on our own.

The greatest news for human kind may be that it is ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE to do! WE CAN DO IT! We can change our lot in life by taking control of our thoughts and feelings and we can begin getting the results we want, and may have always wanted.

THIS is why it is true that the past does not equal the future because no matter what failure, heartbreak or disappointment you may have had in the past YOU CAN RIGHT NOW CHANGE IT FOR THE BETTER!

The decision is yours. You can blow it off as I did the question or you can decide now to turn your life around and start getting everything you deserve. You can live abundantly without having to deprive anyone else of anything too. You can make your dreams come true.

The decision is yours. The time is now. It is a journey but a worthwhile one and the true value of which you will only know once you get on the road. Become unstoppable. Become convinced that you will be, have and do everything you want.

Put these practices to work and discover what I and countless others have discovered, and are discovering. This mind stuff works!!! It absolutely, truly does! There is amazing, dynamic energy and power in a committed, firm decision. It may be unlike anything you have ever experienced up until now.

If you are like some people you may have to get close to hitting bottom before you act in your own best interests. I was like that. The painful signal value had to be really loud, strong and hurtful to get my attention.

If you are like some others, you see the value of an opportunity as it is presented to you. You can make the decision without having to suffer.

Sadly, there will be those, in both groups who do nothing because they simply don’t know any better. That was me too. I couldn’t see opportunity when presented, I was suspicious. I didn’t know enough consider something as that question worthy of my attention so blew it off.

Then I had to let life circumstances and my own negative and bad feelings get strong enough to make me exclaim, ‘I don’t want to live like this anymore! I must do something.’ I began to search.

THIS is what I found. Even then, I dabbled. I dipped my toes in. I went a way for a few years but I kept encountering myself again and again in less than glorious ways. Finally, I decided, ‘I really can’t live this way. I have to change and I will do whatever is required to change it!’ In that moment, I became freer.

I decided I was 100% responsible for anything and everything that happened to me. I would be a victor and a champion. I would fill my mind with positive thoughts and my being with positive glorious feelings.

If I fell I would commit to getting up. If I didn’t feel like it I would forge ahead anyway. There were many times I fell and countless times I didn’t feel like it.

Bottom line: If I can do this ANYONE else in the world can do this too. I am not special, I am not smarter, I am no one at all, just another person on a journey. I committed to it and change began happening.

Slowly, no evidence at all that anything was changing, but in time I felt better. No miracles, nothing. Shit still hit the fan. At first, I was confused and wondered why bad things were still happening but I soon learned it was my response to situations that made the difference. Wondering why only threw me back into negativity.

I learned I had to manage my thinking and steer it back to what I wanted and to focus on what I now have and what I am creating for the future. I have to and had to apply these principles repeatedly to make them a habit.

I was used to doing things other ways before so I had to learn the new ways and make these automatic, AS automatic, as the old ways of doing things. Once that happens it does get easier and easier.

Eventually, I began to notice, not only feeling better and better as a result of my mind, feelings and life becoming more positive, but small wins. Little things, positive things began happening more and more frequently and as they did I felt grateful and celebrated all I could. Gratitude opens a doorway to let so much more come in!

More wins, eventually, bigger wins. The seed sprouted, the tiny plant grows before becoming big and strong. Even more. The feelings and thoughts and results I were getting fed each other. As I felt better more things good seemed to happen. As more good things happened the better I felt. It is as if I can’t separate the two. It is quite glorious!

YET, still there are challenges and that is absolutely okay. I learn from them. I am resolved to being a life long learner. One can’t know everything. So I learn from opportunity and challenges alike. It is so wonderful!

I still fall and I get back up. Not each one is easy to get back up from but it is far easier than before. There is just no way to share how incredible this all is in my life. Words just don’t seem adequate. You really have to experience it for yourself as countless, COUNTLESS others have.

Countless, but the number is far smaller than those who won’t. That is truly sad. They are used to doing things the way they have been doing them. A wise old friend spoke these words, ‘I am awakened, it is true. Once I slept but I awoke and it is glorious. You are sleeping now but one day you too will awaken. That is just how it is.’

We are ready when we are ready. No blame, no excuses, nothing. We come to change in our own time. I love my life and I didn’t always feel that way. I love it and adore it. Funny, but as I typed these words I just had an agent phone me to come in for a call back in two days.

If Your Personal Computer Is Sabotaging You; Fix It!

“Have you tried to make a change and found it difficult?  Perhaps, it worked for awhile but then you reverted back to the old issue? Even though you may have promised yourself ‘this time will be different’ it wasn’t very long until it was back the same? If you answered yes to these questions you may need to look at self image.

People think or verbalize statement such as ‘that is just not me’ or ‘I would never wear that’ or ‘i can’t stop eating’ or ‘I just have a lot of nervous energy’ or ‘I could never do that’ and more. Many more! These ARE affirmations of our self image. NO they aren’t  Positive Affirmations.

Careful, You Are Already Using Affirmations

No, they are not the kind we talk about when we say you need to repeat affirmations for success but they work exactly the same way. We already DO think and repeat these over and over again just as we are encouraged to do with the Positive kind! We live these daily.

These self image affirmations we utter work to keep us consistent. They work to keep us consistently the person we say we are. Who we are is a result of the self image we maintain. They affirm what we are like and what we can and can’t do. These thoughts and utterances of ours affirm our boundaries. They work REALLY well!

They maintain our limits. We have an internal image of who we are and what we are capable of and what we deserve in life that we live from and fulfill. We produce or don’t produce results consistent with who we are and what this image of ourself is.

We won’t do anything  inconsistent with our self image. When we do try to change behaviors we find it difficult because we are attempting to do something ‘unlike’ us. We tend to think of ourselves as a smart or dumb person, fat or thin, happy or unhappy, successful or not, rich or poor, easy going or not… The list goes on.

Become Aware Of All Your ‘I’ Statements

We can get a clue as to what our self image actually is by paying attention to our thoughts, these notions about ourself, and the utterances or exclamations we make during the day. When times are good and when times are rough ‘we show up’. If we pay attention we can begin to get a sense of who we are on the inside.

We have a composite of images, sounds and feelings of who we are and who we are not. We can even look at our own internal images on our own inner movie screen and see who we think we are. Who and what do we represent ourself to be inside our head?

From the dawn of time, ancient practitioner of these arts have attempted to get us to maintain a positive self image and move beyond our boundaries into happiness, well-being and success. Some have used their approaches with incredible results!

Maxwell Maltz was a plastic surgeon who, because of his work making people pretty and repairing damaged looks, began to explore this area. He did this because people surprised him. An unhappy patient would come to him desperately wanting to look a certain way. He’d provide it but the person remained unhappy.

At first he was confounded. He wanted to know how this was possible. Though they didn’t exist, as we know them today, it was as if an internal computer was running the show. Whatever the programmed software was dictated the results one gets. Today, we know the results you get on a computer ARE determined by what the software is programmed to do.

Self Image Runs The Show

He provides numerous examples in his books. What he discovered was his patients had an internal picture, an image of who they were. Regardless of the outer change they lived from the one inside their heads. The internal image, this self image, runs the show just as a computer does. Whatever is within is what gets output consistently.

Maltz began to explore what people were doing and what they could do differently in their imagination to get what they wanted. As a doctor and businessman he wanted satisfied and happy patients.

His works have sold steadily since 1960. He became a mojor proponent of personal change and development. His break through book was called Psycho Cybernetics. It is as relevant today as it was back then. You can find it and read it. Read it over and over!

He proffered that behaviors stem from our self image. This is the mental picture we have created of ourself. Many people attempt to change behaviors but find this nearly impossible because the behaviors they want to change are automated habits.

Maltz’s patients wanted to become happy by changing their appearance. This rarely worked because they (we) have a persistent automated self image. In order for their lives to be happy (our lives to be happy) they had to work (we have to work) on the inner person before anything else.

There Is An Order To Positive Change; A Recipe

Maltz reasoned that most people encounter difficulty because they put the cart before the horse. They tried to change the behaviors first and that should not be the first order of business. Imagine a ladder with self image at the top run and behaviors further down on the rungs.

In order to change these behaviors Maltz stated you first had to change the mental image. Once you change your internal picture of self your behaviors can change. You change your personality, your self image and your behaviors change because a self image change is a higher order change. It governs the rest.

We know that thought precedes action. To change our feelings and behaviors we must first change our thoughts. Humans have not accomplished or built anything that they first didn’t create inside their heads and then build with their hands. Our own personal changes are accomplished the same way.

If we want to succeed in the outer world we must first succeed in our inner world. Who and what we think we are determines how we feel about ourselves and what we will do to achieve our dreams (assuming we have dreams). If we want to be happy in life we must first be happy within. ‘As within. So without. As above. So Below’ is an ancient principle.

Do This One Tiny Change And You Can Move Mountains!

“Some people think in order to make positive, permanent, pervasive, change that they must change everything at once in order to get anything at all. That is just not true. What is true is you must change something but you don’t need an entire make over.

You have heard me say, or you have read in my writings a favorite quote, ‘drop by drop fills the tub’. Or I ask, how do you eat and elephant? Answer,  ‘Bite by bite’. You know the famous quote, ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’.

Small changes can be powerful. When NASA shoots a rocket to the moon its internal guidance correction system is making micro corrections all the while to keep it on course. That’s because if the rocket blasts off and is 1/10 of 1% off course near the time of lift off within a short while it will be hundreds of thousands, even millions of miles off course.

If you were driving straight in the salt flats and you turned your wheel just a tiny bit and locked it in right there soon you would be miles and miles away from the straight line you were traveling in. That small adjustment takes you way off in another direction.

So it is true if you are aiming at a target destination and you get off course by only the tiniest little bit you will be off course by a lot very soon.

The other truth is if you want to change your life it only takes a little bit of change to make a serious amount of large change. That tiny correction you make will take you very far in improving your life.

You exclaim, ‘I don’t have the time, the energy or the money to make changes right now!’  That is okay. Make one small change you can stick with and you will be amazed with the results you can get.

Whatever it is. Perhaps, it is dedicating yourself to reading a page or more of inspirational material each and every day when you get up. That isn’t much to commit to. 1 single page. Certainly, you could do more if you want but you could do at least a page.

Maybe you decide to listen to inspirational audio while you drive. That’s a great time to listen to motivational inspiring speakers. It is also a great time to shout out with enthusiasm your daily affirmations. It’s an excellent time for either or for both.

Or, you decide to spend 5 minutes focused on your goals first thing in the morning when you get up. You visualize yourself seeing yourself as already having all the changes you want. You imagine living and behaving in that positive reality.

Perhaps, you spend 5 minutes laughing when you arise. 5 minutes non-stop laughing. Or you laugh during your drive. You could commit to smiling more though out the day. Maybe, you commit to doing things each day that put a smile on someone else’s face.

You might decide to spice up your life by trying new things. You  use your opposite hand to eat, shave, comb your hair. You drive different ways to school or work. You walk places you have never been. You sleep with your head at the foot of the bed. Anything!

You keep a journal of all you are grateful for and as you list each thing you real spend a moment feeling the wonderful feelings. You decide to be nicer to the people around you.

You pay attention and really listen to people to understand. You monitor and manage your self-talk for a certain amount of time during the day. You meditate for 5, 20, 30 minutes a day.

You make it a point to stop complaining and blaming and you only speak about those things that uplift and make you and others feel good. You accentuate the positive. You speak only to bless, heal and prosper yourself and others.

You don’t have to do all of these.You could. Certainly they are all manageable.  But don’t bite off more than you can chew.

Pick one and commit to doing for no less than 30 days and perhaps a whole lot more. You will be surprised at what a difference it can make.

A little change, like a little faith, can move mountains.

Maybe, as you go along you discover you want to and can add in other things.  DO whatever pleases you and makes you feel wonderful.
