Happiness Is Fleeting While Suffering Lasts: How To Change This!

“Have you ever notice time flies when you are having fun? It passes quickly. Consider this. Happiness seems fleeting. This is because we enjoy it. We want it and like it. It comes and it goes quickly.

Einstein allegedly said, and I paraphrase, ‘time is relative. An hour with a wonderful woman seems like a minute. Sitting on a hot stove for a minute seems like an hour.’ Isn’t that the truth?

When we have feelings we don’t want they seem to persist. On and on and on they seem to go. They last and last almost forever. Why do you imagine that is?

It is because we resist them. We don’t like them so we fight them. As a result they last forever. You have heard it said, ‘what we resist persists.’ We attempt to block them. We fight the energy and dam it up.

Whatever You Resist Persists

This only makes the pressure build. On and on they go and we continue to not like it. We continue to fight them. Like a grudge war it  can go on forever.  We perpetuate what we don’t want.

Happy feelings are fleeting because we don’t resist them. We don’t prolong them by fighting them. They come and they go. All feelings do.  All would probably come and go pretty much at the same rate.

If we let them. If we didn’t care about negative or bad feelings they would arise and then subside as positive or happy feelings do. Perhaps, not as quickly but sooner rather than later.

It is the fight that the lasting energy is produced. The conflict keeps them around and provides them more energy. They push we push back. Then they push back and we push back. It continues on.

Like Water – Seek The Path Of Least Resistance

So is there anything we can do about bad feelings? It turns out there is. However, you probably aren’t going to like it that much.

Accept them. Allow them. They will come and they will go. They will pass. YES, it seems difficult. You have spent a lifetime fighting them. You grew up fighting them. Allow them and they will pass.

Very few people have been raised in awareness. I wasn’t. You probably weren’t. So when it comes to accepting what we don’t like as the solution most of us aren’t very quick to jump on that wagon.

Instead, it seems we have to come to this conclusion  through our suffering. We grew up one way, most of us, doing what our parents told us to or did. We modeled them. We followed their examples.

Past Results Are Not An Indication Of Future Results

As a result you and I have the habit of resisting. We feel the emotions in our body because we don’t like them. We have labeled them as bad, wrong and unwanted. We try to eliminate them.

We fight and resist and prolong them. We have to stop fighting if we want them to go away faster. It seems counter intuitive but it isn’t. The quickest was to get rid of your purse is to drop it. Let it go.

Gravity takes care of the rest once you let go. Yes, it is an analogy but it works. You let go of your investment in fighting. You drop it. You don’t have to try to drop a glass of water you just let it go.

Of course, meditators and others spend time learning to let go. They practice awareness. They practice observing without getting involved. The look within without judgement. This is great practice!

Change The Channel And Divert Your Attention

You change the channel. If you ever watched a movie at night that disturbed you this is the best way to not keep thinking of it. Change the channel! It works because it diverts your attention.

Turning off the TV never worked, did it? When you shut it off you are left alone to think about what you just watched. It gets worse because you try to fight the thoughts and make them go away.

So what do you do to stop thinking about it? Change channel. Watch something you enjoy. Once you get caught up in what you enjoy you are free of the bothersome thoughts and images. It works!

It really works and yes it too is an analogy. You learn to put your attention in a more delightful place. There is a thread woven through these blogs I hope you notice. You direct your attention.

Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes

Typically, when you feel bad it is a signal you are thinking about what you don’t want. You’re focused on less than glorious concerns. You’re  occupied with comparing and suffering as a result.

It is a signal to turn your attention to what you do want instead. It is an opportunity signal to switch the channel. To let go or drop the negative and focus on what you want and what you can create.

One of the benefits of meditation is the ability to watch our thoughts and feelings. You simply observe and feel without labeling or judgement. It is Choice-less Awareness.

One does not choose what is going on. One observes.The meditator watches thoughts as if they were leaves on a stream being carried by the water

Learn The Art Of Choiceless Awareness

Meditation may be a practice you want to include. When you discover you have spent time feeling bad or thinking negatively you do not beat yourself up. Instead view yourself as a meditator would.

Don’t judge. Observe. Let go of criticism. Simply notice. You will move through the less than glorious feeling faster if you do not fight yourself or criticize yourself. Encourage yourself to learn from it.

Meditation has wonderful benefits.. There are many forms. Perhaps, you might find one you can practice.

A key for self improvement is awareness. We become aware of what needs to change. We don’t judge it as bad or ourselves as bad we just go ahead and make the change.

You Become What You Think About

Day gives way to night. Night gives way to day. It is cyclic. Feelings come and go. Whatever we lock onto remains. Whatever we fight, however we fight it, sticks around to fight back.

You get what you focus on. Resistance is why your negative feelings last. Good feelings you welcome so they come and you enjoy them. They give way to something else. You don’t fight them.

The move swiftly. Negative feelings would most likely pass soon as well.  Once good feelings are gone you may fight their absence. You may struggle and strain to recapture them.

If you notice the lack and you long for the good feelings you are caught up in comparing. You are resisting their absence thus prolonging their absence.

Focus On What You Have Not On What You Lack

Whatever we focus on is what we get. This is the huge lesson that takes some of us a while to fully get. It doesn’t matter whether it is good or bad whatever we focus on we get back more of.

You feel less than glorious by longing for good feelings. Let it go. Realize you have behaved habitually. These are habits and you can break habits. It may take some time and dedication but you can do it.

New habits and new neural pathways can be created any time you choose to. Don’t fight anything. If you catch yourself fighting don’t fight that. Stop, recognize what you’re doing. Take a deep breath.

And stop! It won’t help if you criticize and condemn yourself. Let it go. Accept that is what you did and appreciate that you are in the process of learning a new way of being. Be gentle on yourself.

You Are Building New Neural Pathways And New Habits

Resolve to have fun and to delight. Take it lightly! Enjoy the process. You may fall many times but get back up.  It is okay to fall. But get right back up. Don’t wallow by staying down. Get up. Go on!

When you notice a less than glorious feeling realize it is a signal to place your attention and energy elsewhere. Focus on something that helps you feel a little bit better. That is all you need to do.

Feel a little better bit by bit. Step by step. When you feel bad do whatever is necessary to feel a little bit better. You are training yourself to leave the bad feeling for a better feeling.

This is how you begin to make a new habit.You are learning to search for better feelings. You look elsewhere to what feels better. You develop your ability to look for and find other ways to be.

You Are In Charge So Be In Control 

Instead being a victim of your thoughts and feelings you take charge. Little by little, through repeated effort over time, you will make leaving the bad feelings behind for better feelings a habit.

You will retrain your brain and your behaviors. This is all completely within your control. Inch your way along positively reinforcing all that you do. If you fall, so what, dust yourself up and go again.

Soon you will have better and better feelings and you will experience more happiness and joy. Focus on what you want not on what you don’t have or don’t want. You are building new habits.

Put your energy into what transforms you in positive and powerful ways. Withdraw it from anything that does not. You will feel better more frequently as a result. Be gentle and be kind to yourself.

Gratitude Is The Attitude That Changes Everything For The Better

Congratulate yourself when you make advances. Pat yourself on the back for attempting it no matter the result. Keep at it until you get more of the results you want. If you persist you will win.

What you resist will remain. What you celebrate may come and go but you will celebrate more often moment to moment. Enjoy the moment. That is the only thing you really have to transform.

A great place to put your attention is on those areas of your life you celebrate and are thankful for. Anything and everything you appreciate; people, events, things, activities, hobbies, places.

Be grateful for your ability to make changes more easily. So what if it is difficult at first, just as everything else, you get better at in in time with repeated correct practice. Appreciate yourself and your abilities.

Life is good. Enjoy it and you will enjoy it even more!  Put your energy and attention on the delights and tiny moments at each opportunity and you will discover yourself blessed with countless more. You get what you focus on!” Rex Sikes

Creators Do It Differently Than The Herd: How To Be A Creator

“Have you ever been in the presence of a person who just has ‘it’? You know what I mean. A person who walks into a room and their energy draws everyone to them like moths to a flame. Heads turn. People notice and want to move closer. They are something special;

This person is filled with positive, irresistible presence and charisma. It is positive energy. Positive high vibrations. Whatever words you want to use this is how you want to live moment to moment. You want to vibrate high and be filled with positive, powerful energy.

You Are A Light To The World

Think of yourself as a beacon.  Are you shining powerfully bright so all can see or are you a dim bulb? Illuminate yourself and you illuminate the world. Creators, those people who live powerfully live differently from the herd. They live as champions and emperors.

You can too! Do what they have learned to do and you will. They know how important it is to be in charge of their thoughts and feelings. They think the best and feel the best most of the time. The know you become what you focus on so they focus on the positive.

Live with positive energy! Feel the best you can moment to moment. Live feeling the best you can. Think the most positive and wonderful thoughts and you will feel the most positive and wonderful feelings. Thinking and feeling and feeling and thinking go hand in hand.

Make Sure Your Light Is Lit

Live with positive energy. Emphasize it. That is what the creators do. Vibrate high! Keep your self talk and inner imagining on positive things. Speak to bless heal and prosper self and others.  Your power as a creator is to feel what you want before it is.

Thought precedes results. Thoughts precede action. Thoughts precede reality. If you think it in your head you can some day hold it in your hand. Energy moves from inside to the outside. You call it into action with your thoughts, feelings and words.

Keep your thoughts and images positive. Do the same with your self-talk and the words you do speak out loud.  Keep feelings the very best. Creators use their thoughts, words and positive emotional energy to manifests what they want.

Stay Positive In Thoughts And Feelings

This is how you make it happen! Be it before it and you will have it! They fully realize it first in the imagination. They feel what it is like to be it, to do it, to own it before they have any of it. From this then they create it. They take action to bring it into being.

This is how you manifest what you want. Imagine it. Write it down. Speak it as though it is already done. Feel it! Smell it, taste it! Enjoy it as if you already have it before it arrives. It is your story tell it the way you want it to be and it can be that way.

No whining, no excuses, no blames. If you live and think lackluster thoughts your life will be the same. Creators live managing the best they have. They are active in their self awareness and in maintaining their mindset and positive energy.

Go First – Be It – Then Do It To Have It

Successful people have money because they are first successful within. They feel successful. They know they are successful. They expect to have things work out. They expect to make money and attract opportunity.

Money comes to the successful it does not make you successful. Happy people are people who are happy first. It doesn’t matter what they have or what life throws at them. They are happy first. They can enjoy everything because it isn’t things that make people happy.

Yet, countless numbers of people have it backwards. They do, they struggle and work hard to have things so that they can be happy and feel successful. This is directly counter to how it works. You first be, you become it, and then you do, you take action to have things.

Act As If You Already Are What You Want

Pretend what it feels like to be able to do whatever you want whenever you want. Pretend that you can afford anything you desire. Pretend life is good and you feel incredible. Act as if everything is perfect. Enjoy it. Feel it. Answer this question.

If life were perfect and you were who you always wanted to be and doing what you wanted and having everything you wanted how would you feel? If you had everything you always wanted how would you feel? This is the feeling you want to live from most of the time.

Feel wonderful! Feel incredible! Feel delighted! The way you do that is to fill your mind and being with the thoughts that make you feel this way. From this energy you create. From this energy you attract. This is how the creators do it. They live vibrating high!

Feeling Good Is Feeling Good Is Feeling Good

Here is an important tip: The feelings you feel do not have to be directly related to what you want. For example, you want wealth but are not sure how to feel rich. You might imagine and feel freedom. You might feel blessed.

You might appreciate everything you do have without wanting more. You just feel true gratitude. You might feel fun. You might feel joy! You might feel celebration and delight. You might feel fascinated and in awe of nature. You might feel wonder.

Good feelings open the doorway to attract more of the same. When you are feeling wonderful you open yourself up. You might feel peaceful, secure, relaxed, at-ease, confident. Feel good and vibrate high! When you feel good you invite more of the same and better.

You Are Either Positive Or Negative – Choose

Withdraw you energy and attention from less than glorious news, gossip and worries. Focus on the wonderful, the inspiring, the magnificent. Feel yourself as a powerful, positive creator. Feel it now. Not sometime in the future but now. Feel it as already done!

Decide to see what is going right and you will see it! Decided to feel it first and you will have it! Yearning reinforces the absence of what you want and blocks you from getting it. Feeling fulfilled means more can come your way! Being fulfilled means you make it happen.

Feel fulfilled first and you will open the doors to being blessed beyond belief. Stop longing and start feeling what you want already accomplished.  Make your life the way you have always wanted it to be. Create it! Attract it by making your energy irresistible!” Rex Sikes

Use This Key To Unlock The Door To Your Dreams & Desires

“What does believing mean? What does it mean to have faith? Why is this important when it comes to making your dreams come true? How does it apply to your career goals, being the person you want to be or having what you want to get in life?

In previous blog posts I’ve pointed out the necessity of maintaining a positive mindset and the importance of ‘Believe It And You Will See it’. This concept is how everything works but it is not the typical way most people think.

Most People Think When I See It Then I Will Believe It

This latter attitude keeps people in the dark because they focus on present circumstances. Their mindset works this way.  Only once they are convinced it can be otherwise, then AND only then, will they believe it can be otherwise. It is the reason things don’t work.

Instead of being focused on what they want and believing they can make it happen they are focused on what they don’t want waiting to be convinced somehow it will be different. So they remain the same. They get what they focus on. They get what they don’t want.

To be, do or have what you want you must focus on what you want to the exclusion of all else. You can not let yourself be distracted from what it is you want to make happen. You are the creator of it so create it. Believe you can do it and you will. Stay properly focused.

You Must Believe It First And Then You Will See It

Listen to stories of those people who reached the top in entertainment, in finance, in sports, whatever endeavor in life and you repeatedly hear stories that they KNEW they were destined to become a top player regardless of the obstacles.

They KNEW IT within them. They never lost faith.  Even when it appeared hopeless the kept going!  They worked in spite of the odds until they made it. This is how we need to believe. We need to EXPECT that it will happen. We need to KNOW we can accomplish it.

You can not wish or hope. You can not be half assed. You must be convinced that you will fulfill your greatest desire and you must passionately pursue it. You must persist in the pursuit until you have what you want. There is not alternative. You just do it!

You Must Ask Believing

Sure, you can hope, you can pray, you can think it is all about luck. That will not get you closer. Jesus said, ‘When you ask BELIEVE you will receive…’ so we can’t do less than that, can we? This is an important key concept. Believe it and you will see it!

We need to stop begging, whining and pleading. We need to command it into being. We need to declare what we want. We need to believe we will make it happen. We need to expect to get it.  Just as you do when you place an order in a restaurant.

Consider this analogy. You go into a restaurant. Hopefully, you are polite and I mean this. Waitstaff comes and says something similar to, ‘May I take your order?. You tell the person what you want they take it back to the cook. You wait after having placed YOUR order.

You Don’t Have To Muster Up Faith To Order Breakfast

You expect it to be delivered how you want it a little while later. You don’t sit there hoping and wishing and whining and complaining or fretting or worried or convinced it will never happen. You expect it to come the way you ordered it and you expect to get what you want.

With regard to the cook preparing it and it being delivered there are those who would liken that to the universe giving you what you want once you order is in. That is fine. I am not going there with this analogy at this time. I am only right now only addressing the ordering process and your faith in yourself.

While the waitstaff is gone you behave normally and concern yourself with reading or conversing or whatever you do. You occupy yourself because you know your food is coming. After all your order is in. After a while, it is served. You got what you ordered. You got what you wanted.

Know What You Want To Order

If you didn’t know what you wanted neither would anyone else. So the first important piece was to know what you want. When it comes to your dreams you need to know what you want and want it more than anything else.

You place your order. You declare what you will make happen.You stay focused on what you want to the exclusion of any evidence that tells you otherwise. You don’t let present circumstances distract you and you do not compare the wait time.

You don’t think, ‘I placed my order how long is this going to take’. Doing that keeps you focused on not having it yet. It keeps your attention on what you do not want. You have to have your focus on what you want. Your mind set needs to be right. You must believe.

Expect It – Know It 

You do not wish or hope.  You KNOW! You state it. You order it. You declare it! You command it! You demand it! You don’t dream it, you don’t pray or beg you ACCEPT it.

You Announce it. In fact, you don’t believe something is going to happen. Don’t put it off on someday in the future. You believe it has already happened! This is how you use your mind to create what you want. You see it as if it all already exists. It begins as an idea!

In your mind’s eye, visualize already having what you want. Imagine it fully as vividly as you are able. Full color, 3D, full sound with total feeling. Live it as though you have everything you want. FEEL IT. BASK in how good it feels. Imagine living in the house you will live in.

Stay Focused

Imagine working in the career you want successfully. Imagine a loving relationship. Imagine all your bills paid and enough money to do whatever you want when you want to. See people congratulating you and discussing your success.

Hear it! Hear people congratulate you. Hear what they say and what you say in return. Feel their handshakes and embraces. Feel how good it feels. Live the life you want to be living. It is the feelings combined with the images that place your order with your subconscious. Feel it fully.

Keep all your self-talk positive. Speak only to bless heal and prosper. Don’t speak about what you don’t want. Affirm what you want. Stay true to your pursuit. Stay focused, stay positive and powerful. Do not give your power away. Keep it an use it.

Once you put your order in with the waitstaff you don’t have to believe it will happen you KNOW it will happen. Treat life the same way. Expect good things. See them. Plan them in your mind’s eye.

Carry out the future in the present. Do not make it a when make it NOW! Make the future your current reality on the inside. What you focus on you get.  What you think you become.  Keep the faith!

Now Is The Only Time There Is

Live with an attitude of gratitude. Celebrate everything right now! Be focused on abundance not lack. Know you are making your dreams come true. The seeds are planted. The order is taken. Live as though you know it is yours. It is yours!

Own it! Declare it! Stop being a beggar. Stop fretting, hoping and worrying. Live as an emperor. YOU will make your dreams come true. Mind set is the very first and most important step to take.

Set aside time each day to imagine your life as you want it to be. Feel the very best you can as much as you can each day. Make feeling good and thinking positive a daily habit and your will be amazed at all the good things you starting creating and attracting.

Live positively! Live with passion. Live with enthusiasm! Feel the best you can moment to moment because it makes it all happen faster when you do. Be happy and enjoy all there is. Just like the others who knew they would succeed no matter what you can too! Do it!” Rex Sikes

What Do I Do If I Think A Negative Thought?

“People have asked me, ‘What about negative thoughts? What should I do if I think a negative thought?

This is a normal question for people in the process of learning to deliberately take charge their mind.  

After all, it is bound to happen. We are human. There is nothing to fear and there is somethings you can do.

Whenever you have a negative thought or feeling counter it immediately with a positive thought.  

Don’t accept the negative. Make a positive statement.  Make a positive picture. Turn your back on it!

Turn your back on the negative and turn toward the positive. Do not entertain or get caught up supporting or encouraging that which brings you down.

Turn from it. Put your focus, your emphasis, your concentration on the positive. Deliberately switch!

The trick to being happier and healthier overall in life is learning to pay attention to what is worthwhile.  

Let go or give up that which does not add or contribute to you positively.

Learn to transform those moments. It will make your life more incredible moment to moment.

Eventually you will make it a habit and you will automatically look to the positive. 

You will learn a few important things by doing this: You will become aware of when you are not thinking positively.

You will develop the power to switch it.

You will make it an automatic reliable habit. You will gain control of your thinking process.

You will begin to make what you want happen in your life.

Become aware of the signal! That is really all the negative thought or feeling actually is.

It is a signal that you are thinking about what you don’t want or don’t have.

It is a signal that you are focused on a less than productive pathway. The signal provides you the opportunity to change it.

Appreciate the signal. It may be negative but be glad it got your attention.

You want to become aware of the instant your thinking turns less than positive.

The signal occurs so you can prevent yourself from getting caught up in negative feelings or spiraling down and out in negative thinking.

The earlier you become aware of the signal the faster and easier it is to change what you are doing.  

Take it as a message to turn your attention to the positive. Change your thinking and you change your life.

Transform the moment from less than glorious into something a little better or a lot better. Build your ability to notice more of the good things.

Notice the fine things, the best things, the best thoughts, feelings and pictures,  the best behvaiors and the moments.

When you fill up your life with things you enjoy and appreciate you feel better over all and life is much more wonderful.  

Too many are distracted by less than glorious past memories or present circumstances.

They spend time wallowing in less than glorious minutes and wonder why they don’t feel better. Energy flows where your attention goes.

If you are negative or feel negative and you put your attention on it you increase it and encourage it. You get more of what you do not want.

If you put your attention on what you want your attention to it supports and ecourages the good feelings and you get more of this.

You get more of what you DO want!

Happiness is a choice each moment. Whenever you notice yourself thinking or feeling less than gloriously stop. Just completely stop.

Take  deep breath. Think ‘cancel’ the negative thought and think, pitcure and make a positive statement immediately.

Steer yourself right back into the positive thoughts and feelings. Do it deliberately.

Do it immediately when you become aware of the negative thought.

Whenever you make a negative statement. Whenever you hear one come out of your mouth Stop!

Do the same thing. Turn it into a positive one!

Do what you want to have more of and less of what you don’t want. It is simple enough.

Either you are postive or negative. Choose the positive and life will be better.

Don’t whine, complain, blame or act like a victim and say that you can’t do this or that it is too difficult.

That itself is a negative thought you must immediately change!

Change your thoughts and change your life. You can do this! Decide that you can and that you will.

When you will you will have won. The victory comes to those who attempt to win.

Defeat is assured for those who refuse to play the game. You are already in the game so decide how you will play it.

Decide to make your life better and you will.

If you want something the first place you get it is in your mind. Where you spend most of your time is what your life reflects.

You become what you think about. Make your mind your servant instead of being its servant and you will be so happy you did.” Rex Sikes

Most People Have It Backwards, Do You? Stop Struggling – Start Succeeding!

“If you are like most people you’d like to make positive changes in your career or in your life but you’re just not sure how to get started. Sadly, most people have it backwards. They put the cart before the horse. They effort, struggle and work their butts off yet still don’t make much progress. They are unable to move forward and they just are not happy.

They may be in debt and can’t seem to ever have enough money. They find themselves in relationships that are not fulfilling. They are overworked and stressed out. Whatever their issues are they stem from a typical mindset or paradigm.

Most of us were brought up believing this is the way it is. It is our paradigm. It is the only way we know. It is the Have, Do, Be mindset. If you are like most people, perhaps, you are struggling or frustrated with where you are in life. Maybe, you want something better but aren’t sure how to begin getting it.

Have, Do, Be Mindset

The majority of people believe that they must first have or acquire the things they want in order to be happy. They are taught that if they want good things, a car, a home, lots of money, the right lover, they need to work hard to get them.

Once they have them they will be able to do whatever they want which will allow them to be the way they want. Then they will be happy. So they work their butts off trying to get enough money, or the right house, or the right partner.

This mindset is the very cause of their problems. It delays happiness and puts it off. It brings about more of the struggle and hard times. It reinforces the current circumstances. For example, people think if they only have enough money it will allow them to do the things that will make them be happy.

The mindset they are living from is that they won’t be happy until they have something first. They are focused on lack. They are focused on not having what they want. What you focus on is what you get. So they remain unhappy and unfulfilled. They actually push happiness and success off and away from themselves.

For some reason others seem to be able to accomplish their dreams without stress and struggle. They seem to be able to arrive at success quite easily. What is the difference between these two groups of people?

Happy and successful people have a different mind set. They have one that works. It allows them to create and attract more happiness, wealth, success, and wonderful things into their life. It is just the opposite of the one described.

Be, Do, Have Mindset

These people know that they must FIRST focus on being. They know you must be (think and feel) happy or successful first. This is the prerequisite before you are able to see any changes in life. Be it first!

Once you are happy then you will naturally do the right things to get the things you want to have. The actions you take will be congruent or in alignment with how you think and feel.

The actions will seem easy, almost effortless, because they stem from the happiness you are already experiencing. The end result is because of who you are, the happy successful person, and the positive actions you are taking. You begin to manifest the things you want to have. Happiness and change starts from within you!

The model, Have, Do, Be means you put off being happy and successful for another day. It comes at another time. You delay it while you attempt to get those things that you think will make you happy. Plus, and this is a big point. The happiness one experiences comes from things outside of themselves.

In the Be, Do Have mindset happiness is immediate. It is in the here and now. It is within you. You are happy because of what you are thinking and feeling. You are in charge. Because you feel happy and successful you are much more able to do what is necessary to create what you want.

Because you are in control, because your power comes from within you, and you are happy and positive you are better able to create and attract and take advantage of favorable circumstances. You don’t have to wait to be fulfilled because you are fulfilled now!

When you operate from this place your ability to change for the better accelerates. If you BE as if you already have what you want you will naturally DO what you need to in order to accomplish your goals or get what you want to HAVE.

Happiness Comes From Within You

Your happiness comes from within you. Your happiness is independent of the world and of anything that occurs in the world. I repeat your happiness comes from within you no matter what the circumstances are.

When happiness and success are delayed and dependent of things or circumstances outside of you, people may get what they think will make them happy, only to discover they still are unhappy. They have stuff but still feel empty.

A multimillionaire told me to my face one evening in his home, “I have all this money. I thought it would make me happy. I was lucky I made the money. At the end of the day, I have this money but I am still me. I am not happy with who I am. I got lots but I am still me’.

This is sad because this gentleman truly is at the top of his game and renown in his field. He had anything that anyone could want to have but still was not pleased. He wanted himself to be better and he needed some help in this area. That is why he sought me out.

Eventually, he adopted the Be, Do, Have paradigm and made some profound personal changes. The fact of the matter IS Being comes first. This is just the way it is. Accept it! You correct yourself first.

You be happy, you be confident, you be loving, you be successful first. Then you can have more. The same is true for the other more useful paradigm. If you are happy first you will bring more of it about. it will expand.

Happiness Is A Choice

Happiness is a choice. You are in control of your thoughts and feelings. You choose to BE happy. So you will add to your happiness. From your happy and successful place you will do those things you love and enjoy and are passionate about.

You will be happy with whatever you have but because you are count your blessings you will have more things to count. This is why it is said, ‘those who have will be given more’, it hardly seems fair but that is how it works. Mindset, thought precedes everything else.

I have shared countless practices, methods and things  you can do on a regular basis to evolve yourself and become who you want to become. If You Aren’t Doing This: It’s No Wonder You Aren’t Getting What You Want!

“Do you want more from life? Do you want more happiness, a better career, greater health? Would you like greater love and satisfaction in your relationships, a nicer home, more wealth? Are there things you want more of?

Is there anything you’d like to do, play piano, learn to knit, play soccer, vacation over seas? Would you like to be different in any way? Would you like to smile more, feel more confident, express joy easily, get better sleep at night, laugh outrageously, feel contented or deliriously happy?

Anything You Can Imagine Can Be Yours

Anything you can think of wanting and desiring could be yours. Did you know that? There is a secret to getting it more easily than you might imagine. I promise you if you faithfully engage this secret you will be pleasantly surprised. Would you like to know what it is?

Look at everything in your life and validate what you already have. No matter how small or large. If you have a want a new car for example, appreciate what you have now. Whether it is your two feet, a bike, a motorcycle, a car or even a crappy vehicle.  Love it and appreciate it.

When you can look at whatever it is you presently have with loving eyes, when you can value it and appreciate it then you open yourself up to the upgrade. When you are truly grateful and feel it genuinely then like does attract like. Birds of a feather flock together.

Feel Truly Grateful

When you are desperate or in need, when you disavow or dislike your present circumstances you attract more of what you do not want and do not like. You keep your situation the same or make it worse. You get what you focus on.

Your subconscious mind gets the messages you send it. What you see in your mind and speak with your mouth accompanied by strong feeling repeatedly makes an impression on the subconscious. Your subconscious only says ‘yes’ to whatever messages it receives. If it receives the message ‘this is crap’ it says, ‘yes it is and here is more’.

If it receives a message ‘this is wonderful’ it says, ‘yes it is and here is more’. It doesn’t care, discriminate or judge. It is merely a servant that gets you whatever you strongly focus on. So if life sucks and circumstances are not to your liking YOU are the only one who can change that.

AND you can change that! Change your focus and your feelings. Start loving and appreciating yourself. When you love someone you speak thoughtfully, kindly and nicely to them. Monitor your thoughts and self talk and treat yourself lovingly and well.

Love Yourself!

You want your lover to feel the best so you do things to make them feel this way. Do the same for yourself. Love yourself! Treat yourself with respect, care, kindness, and gentleness. Take care of yourself, nurture yourself. Give to yourself.

Smile, laugh enjoy life more. Feel your best and when you do everything begins to change. Feel good more often. Appreciate everything about you. Look for silver linings. Frame everything positively.

Speak only to bless, heal and prosper. Be grateful and express your gratitude. Imagine how wonderful everything already is and how wonderful it will be too. Feel this fully. What you think about you bring about!

Look for options instead of obstacles. Stop whining and complaining. No pity party for you.  Don’t think times are tough. Appreciate! See the present as abundant. Whatever you have at least you have that! Validate it and appreciate it and you can get more of it.

Feeling Wonderful Opens The Floodgates

When you appreciate and are grateful you send a signal to your subconscious that you like it and want it. You like it and want it and want more of it. You subconscious says, ‘yes’ and gives you more.

It will figure out the how. Your job is to be concerned with the what. What you want and what you are grateful for is what you need to know. Don’t concern yourself with how or when. Simply remain grateful and keep the faith. Enjoy the process. Take it lightly!

How is not for you to know. No one really knows how until they do it anyway. The Wright brothers didn’t know how to fly until they had. Edison didn’t know how to make a lightbulb work until it did. Ford didn’t know how to create a working V-8 engine until they made one.

Drop your problems and hardships. Make problems matter less. Get caught up in feeling good and grateful and forget about how anything happens. If you are needy you prevent yourself from getting more of what you want because you are creating more need.

Focus On What You Are Grateful For

Let go of the how and simply expect good things. Appreciate what you have and feel blessed. Give it over to your subconscious, to God or the Universe to figure out how while you continue to enjoy and celebrate life.

Expect good things and be patient. Get to enjoy what you have so much right now that you no longer compare or seek what is missing. When your life is so enjoyable it is overflowing you will add in good things. You will get more good things. You will be amazed!

You will attract the right people and circumstances and make what you want to happen. You will be in the right mind set for you to open doors and go through them. Life will become a delightful adventure for you to explore.

Feeling successful precedes success. Feeling happy brings more happiness. Feeling wealthy precedes cash flow. Loving oneself genuinely opens the door for incredible relationships. Feeling the warmth of family makes for a wonderful home. Thought precedes action. Celebrate and be grateful and the world becomes your oyster!” Rex Sikes

Are You Stuck? If What You Are Doing Isn’t Working Do This Instead!

“Do you ever feel caught up or stuck in a routine? Not much changes from day to day. Certainly, at times there is good news or bad news but after while everything returns pretty much right back to how it was. Do you sometimes wish there was more to your job, career or life?

There is a saying we have usd to encourage people for decades. ‘If what you are doing isn’t working do something else. Do anything else!’ The reason this is important is because we tend to be habitual patterned, chronic thinkers and doers.

Do Anything Else

It has been estimated that 95% of our what we do is on automatic. We are routine in nearly everything. From how we get up to how we go to sleep and everything in between we approach it the same this time as we did last time.

How and what we eat to how we get to school, work or home is the same. We have an order to bathing and dressing. We do the same activities, watch the same shows, listen to the same radio channels. We worry about the same issues. Little changes in actuality.

Whether the percentage is accurate or not it points to the need to spice things up. I’ve always said, ‘Add Novelty to what you do’.  If what you are doing isn’t bringing you joy, happiness or success you want, or the results you get then do anything else. Add novelty.

Does this mean switch jobs? It might. That may or may not be practical and realistic. I prefer to think it means change some aspect of what we are doing for the positive. Change your thoughts about it.

Add In New Enjoyable Behaviors

Change your feelings. Change some aspect that allows you to start enjoying it. Add something in or learn to do something differently that works and that you enjoy. I am not suggesting you throw the baby out with the bath water. I am not suggesting overhaul.

Anything you do, obviously it is important that it is safe, healthy and of positive benefit for you and all others. It should be legal and not cause anyone, yourself included, harm. Be smart and be wise about these things. IT should go without saying…

Another principle is ‘If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got’. So if most of what we do are the same things from day to day is it any wonder things remain mostly the same? If you love it then no worries. Keep it, delight in it.

Accentuate it if you like. BUT If you don’t enjoy it then this is a clue you need to do something different to get it working better for you. Do something else. DO anything else. There is another saying to keep in mind.

Results Originate Within You As Thoughts

The definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results’. These saying should remind us that we need variation. We need to learn to think and behave in new ways. We need to add to ourselves so we keep learning and growing or developing.

Many times I have written or quoted the reference number that at least 60% or better of our thoughts today are ones we thought yesterday and the days before that.  That alone indicates we certainly have room for some much needed changes, additions and improvements.

Music is created by sound vibration and silence spaced out. It you played the same note consistently it would not be appealing. In fact, after awhile, you would tune it out. It would become noise or white noise and your brain would eventually ignore it.

In noisy factories, often,  it is too loud for workers to speak or hear at first. After working in this environment for awhile people learn to talk and listen, nearly at conversational level, because the brain reduces or eliminates much of the background din. It no longer notices it because it is the same.

Change Your Thinking And Change Your Life

If we are so patterned and predicable as research suggests we need to begin to do somethings to maximize our potential and enjoy life more. It is sad when people don’t enjoy life as much as they could because they fail to realize and recognize everything there is to enjoy.

Another concept is, ‘Use it or lose it.’ The brain works much the way your biceps do. Exercise grows them. If you do nothing muscles and the brain tends to atrophy. If most of everything is the same most of the time it may be no wonder life is not as exciting and pleasurable as it could be. We need to exercise our BRAINS and Bodies.

There is a theory that the brain even produces calamity and dis-ease in order to have something new to do. It craves novelty and learning. Perhaps, this theory is correct. Perhaps not. As food for thought perhaps we should think and consider what we might do differently.

If what we are doing isn’t getting us what we want to be, do or have in life; If we aren’t experiencing the fullness of life as much as we want; If we are suffering from to much ‘trauma-drama’, things going wrong instead of things going right THEN perhaps we need to consider a change to what we are thinking and doing.

Begin Today Add Novelty

You can begin today. In these many blog pages are tips, suggestions, ideas, principles, practices, approaches and secrets that you can use to make yourself and your life more dynamic and vibrant, positive, powerful and wonderful. Smile more, laugh more that is a good start.

If you are not already using these to create the life you want then it most likely will remain the same until you do. You can practically bet on it staying the same. If you want changes in your life YOU will have to change things up. If you change nothing nothing changes.

Create the life you want and dream about. Stop dreaming about having it and actually have it! Make it happen. Take control of your thoughts and take control of your life. Have fun, have health, wealth and the kind of relationships you desire.

It won’t change without YOU changing it. You need to take charge and take control. You need to make it how you want it to be. Enjoy life, learn new things, do new things, think new thoughts.  Celebrate everything! Use the muscle between your ears to be, do and have anything you want. Make use of it today!” Rex Sikes

The Great Deception: How To Stop Living The Lie

“Did you know that most likely you have been brought up not knowing the full truth? Some very important principles were kept from you, deliberately or otherwise. Your struggles today are directly tied to not having the right information and know how.

You learn about things like positive thinking or Law Of Attraction and you give them a try. If you are like many people you get mixed results so you eventually give up. Would you like to know why this is and what you can do to ensure success?

You encounter the Law Of Attraction. You are told you are wonderful, deserving, abundant, talented and healthy. You have access to all good things.

Your mind, already conditioned with habitual fears, stories, doubts, reasons, excuses, blames, and messages from others, responds the same way it always does. It doubts it, fears it and all the rest.

This is because these LOA thoughts run counter to what many people are brought up believing. Some do, if you do you are fortunate. If not, no worries. Still, many people have the following experience:

You begin positive thinking and up comes the old conditioning.

The Way You Tame It IS To Replace It

It does require effort. Yes, you must invest in yourself if you want to live the way you are supposed to be living. You train your mind the same way you train a dog. You use patience, kindness, reward, repetition and firmness. You must keep at it if you want to succeed.

You are told let go of the negative. Then the old messages really rear up. You are told don’t worry about finances.  Stop focusing on your bills and debt. Your mind goes ‘but… but… but… if I don’t everything will collapse’.

You think, ‘I have to do something or everything will fall apart’. So you worry, fret, fear, doubt, get sad and anxious. You try to do things to keep it all together. You want the new but you busy yourself with the old.

You try to keep it from falling apart. You think, ‘if I just do this one more thing’, or if you try this other thing’, then things will be okay. You put your faith in actions. You were told you have to work hard to succeed.  So you keep trying to salvage things.

All your conditioning, everything you were taught, is about trying and striving and struggling to make it work. Then, maybe, then you will make it if you keep at it long enough. That is the American way. Work hard and get ahead. That is what some people value.

So you try to do more. You think more, act more, buy more, sell more. You do everything you know what or how to do. You plot and you plan but meanwhile everything remains the same. WHY?

Why Doesn’t It Change? Because You Are Creating It

Your conditioning says, ‘it is a real, hard, cold, separate world out there. Got to work hard to get ahead. Bad things happen to good people. I am not responsible for what happens. I am not lucky. Others are born to privilege I was not. The ‘real world’ is unloving and unkind.’

LOA emphasizes focusing on the positive. Let go of struggle. Accept whatever it is that you want. Believe you are worthy and that you deserve it. Allow it, believe it and receive it! The LOA says to live in harmony with your desires.

Open up to them and you can have them!

The LOA says it is 99% mental and only 1 % actions. It is the complete opposite to how you have been conditioned. Your desired new beliefs encounter the wall of your old beliefs head on. Smash!

Because of your past conditioning you don’t believe it. You resist. Your prior thoughts persists. Your reality remains the same because you pour all your energy into fighting.

You Fight What You Don’t Want. You’re Afraid You Will Lose Out

When it is all said and done you are exhausted and depleted. You have nothing left that is positive. You keep trying to do something to make it better. You still struggle and work hard or you whine and complain and blame everything and everyone else.

LOA emphasizes ‘Mindset First!’ Get the mind in order and your feelings will follow. Once these are in harmony everything else will begin to line up. Open yourself up to receive inspiration from within.

Tap into your inner strengths, power and resourcefulness. Everything you need you already have within you. BUT you have never known that nor have you believed or accepted that.

How could you? You believed all the contrary messages growing up?That was your reality. That is what you have continued to live from. You heard, ‘be brave, take risks’, and you tried. Sometimes it worked out and you were surprised.

Other times it did not and you were even more convinced that those negative limiting messages you grew up with were the right ones. We convince ourselves. You sought and found proof that your upbringing and conditioning was right. All of us do this.

You Have To  Get Over Your Own Previous Conditioning

That is the key. Turn away from what you believed. It  will be one of the most difficult things you have to do. You can do it bit by bit or all at once. The bottom line is YOU can do it.

Those limiting beliefs you were raised with served you in some ways. They worked at times but not really that well. This is because they were the partial truths. You got some of it but not all of it. You didn’t get the part that makes it all work. You also got it reversed.

They taught you to put the cart before the horse. It doesn’t work that way. That is why you and so many people struggle. You learned part of it and not all of it. What you learned was wrong and backwards. But it was all plausible so you and I and others believed it

Because it worked some of the time you believed it even more. It is random conditioning. One of the strongest forms of conditioning there is. Gamblers gamble because sometimes they win. They become convinced they can ‘strike it rich’ and that they break even most of the time when they do not. It is powerful.

It is difficult because you are so close to those thoughts. They form your paradigm. Your self image is invested in them. It is not comfortable. Your brain has run those same neural pathways for years. Those thoughts are your chronic, habitual thoughts.

Those pathways are the path of least resistance for you. It is the obvious and easiest choice to make. Because it is habit it is what you find yourself doing over and over again. It requires no effort to travel those well worn pathways.

You learned much of it from loving people. You learned much of it from media wanting to manipulate, control and to sell things. A weak mob is a weak mob. It is better to keep the masses confused and powerless. Rule by chaos, distraction and confusion.

It Is No Accident 1% Of The Population Controls All The Wealth

They know something you and I didn’t. They have been conditioned differently from the start of their lives. They grew up with a powerfully different set of beliefs, values and ethics than you and I did.

Mind Power First!

It has been emphasized since ancient times. No wonder it is what is ridiculed most by ‘experts’ and those in authority. It IS the secret! Get your mind together and your life will come together! Attitude IS everything. From within so without!

Thought precedes action. Thought precedes everything! Thoughts become things. What we think about we bring about. BUT they want you to think it is the result of your hard work. Actions is what they emphasize.

Let go of the your old ways! Your old beliefs will fight. They won’t let go without kicking and screaming. They are your closely held beliefs and practices. Little by little you can learn the new way. You can learn to live the secret.

Just as  a little trickle can become a mighty river you can make changes step by step. Small at first. Eventually, you will make great strides. Persist and you to can become a mighty creator and live your dreams.

Don’t let your old conditioning prevent you any longer. Stop thinking those old thoughts. Take a deep breath, let go and begin thinking new thoughts. Live a new way. Fill your mind with the new thinking. Train your mind and be in charge of your thoughts.

If You Change Nothing Nothing Will Change

Stop living from the old conditioning. Give yourself permission to think differently. Allow yourself to discover the power that is already yours. Discover the power that IS and has always been within you.

All your life YOU have gotten precisely what you have thought about most in your life. The LOA states, ‘what you think about most you become.’ You attract like thoughts. What you focus on you get. What you think about you bring about.

If you have debt it is because you are concerned with debt. Whatever problems you have been focusing on is what causes them to remain. Birds of a feather flock together. You need to think about, concentrate and include only what you DO want.

If you want wealth begin to experience abundance in all its present forms. Become grateful and thankful for everything. Delight in all that is inside you and outside of you. Live with joy and passion. Celebrate all of what you have and you will get more.

Fill your mind daily with positive thoughts. Read positive, inspiring and motivational material. Re-read it again and again. Listen to audios that help you get your thinking straight. What you think about most often you become.

Become Powerful 

Become filled with gratitude! Celebrate and appreciate everything. Even your problems because lessons and opportunity are within them if you know where to look. It is not so much that you attract as that you create. You will begin to make things happen.

Wish everyone and everything well. Stay positive. Birds of a feather flock together. What you put out comes back so keep it positive and up lifting. Be happy when others succeed.

Be inspiring and helpful to others. Radiate light, love, positive energy and you will attract like people to you who can help you. Put out from your mind the very best thoughts and you will greatly benefit.

Make it a point to be happy and to feel your very best most of the time. Put on a smile, walk with confidence, be playful, laugh more, have fun and enjoy life! Become a person who can do anything!

Life will transform as you do. You will get more of what you want because birds of a feather DO flock together. Think about what you want to include in your life. Do not think about what you want to exclude from your life. Let that thinking go. Drop it!

Let doubs go. Let fears go. Let the plotting and the trying to fix it go.

You have been taught that the world is separate from you and you have very little influence over it. You have been taught things happen to you. You have been made into a victim of circumstances.

You Are Born To Be A Champion, A Winner And A Victor

In reality you are born worthy, deserving of all good things. You are born to be a champion, a winner and a victor. There is plenty of everything for everyone!  You are responsible for your thoughts, feelings and actions. Take charge. Become the master of your fate!

You can be in control and in charge of your thoughts feelings and actions. You absolutely can control your thoughts. They don’t want you to believe that. When you do you will realize your power to control and shape your destiny. Own your power!

Your destiny begins within you. Mindset first! Mind power first!

I am not saying sit in your room and do nothing but imagine. I am suggesting that you FIRST get your head straight. Once you do this you will know better what to do and how. From the proper mindset the actions you take will have greater effect.

Operate from your strengths and your abundant gifts. Do not try to operate from lack and worry. Mindset is 99% then the 1% that is action will be powerful and productive. Inspiration comes before perspiration. This is the correct approach. This is where your power is!

Where you live most of the time, what fills your mind, what kind of thoughts you have most of the time dictate the results you get. If they are mostly positive you will get mostly positive results. If they are mostly negative you will get mostly negative results. If they are 50/50 results will be the same.

Doing This Can Help You Feel Much Better

“If ever you feel out of sorts, down and out, depressed or angry there is something you can do to change how you feel. It is simple and powerful. It works like magic in many ways. It can help you feel better and make your life much more meaningful.

Yesterday, I was fortunate to be able to volunteer to assist physically and mentally challenged adults go water skiing and tubing. What a joy and blessing that was.

They had so much fun and so did we. Their looks of excitement, their sounds of joy was truly touching and wonderful. Their gratitude and that of their parents and caretakers was incredible.

The ski club my son belongs to has done this for 20 years. We joined last year and this was our first event of this kind. As they thanked us I thanked them for coming out and having fun with us.

The other dedicated volunteers worked hard to make this a special day for all. It absolutely was. I mention this opportunity I had because it serves as a great reminder.

One is that people are people. Love them all. Whatever shapes, sizes, colors, abilities, religions, politics, anything and everything. People are people. All people seem to like having fun. To make that possible for them was a blessing in itself.

Some people are more fortunate than others. Some have fewer hardships or challenges. We should be grateful for whatever hand we are dealt. It could be better, true, but it could also be worse. Be grateful. Find all the reasons you are fortunate and blessed!

Whenever you may be feeling down or sorry for yourself volunteer. Help out someone else. Service for another is a great way to get outside of one’s own issues and find comfort, blessing and satisfaction. When you help another person you help yourself. Help uplift another person and you uplift yourself. Instant good karma!

Give. You get back more than you give. The amount of fun and joy and delight I had volunteering was far greater than the efforts I made on behalf of others. The reward or payback was and is immense. As you give you get the rewards immediately!

So lift yourself up and lift up others. Give for no reason other than it feels good and it feels right. Enjoy the feelings that you get helping put a smile on someone else’s face. It is worth it in every way.” Rex Sikes

What Do You Want And Need Most?

“On the road to making our dreams come true we sometimes hit snares or get caught up in problems and issues. It would be wonderful, would it not, if we could more simply move through these tough times? It would be great to have help and support, right?

What issues keep you captive? Where do you get stuck that you’d like to change? What do you need to know, want to know, need to do that will help you get through the tough times? How can I help you accelerate your progress?

Yesterday was my 400th consecutive blog post. I thought I’d celebrate a little bit by taking a break. Not a rest but a moment to say thanks for reading and sharing. THANKS!!!!

More than anything I hope you find value in these pages. My life has been so transformed in incredible ways because of the practices and principles I practice, write about and share here.

Most of them are not new. Most are not mine. Some are. They have either been around almost for ever or re-emphasized in one way or another in the past couple of centuries. Regardless, they are powerful. My goal is to simplify and illuminate these.

Yet, it seems success using them may be elusive at times for some of us. Some people gravitate to them and seemingly make them work instantaneously. Others, seem to have more trouble. I want to assist both or all types of people on this path make them work for.

Plus, I really hope to help those who seem to have trouble because I certainly did. I understand it when it is difficult or when you don’t seem to get the results you want fast enough. I really do.

I am a powerful creator. Took me a long time to realize that. Most of what I created for many years was the opposite of what I wanted. I was incredibly skilled at getting precisely what I did not want. It took me a long time to figure that out and begin to change it.

We Are Powerful Creators And The Results We Get We Created

One of the most profound insights I can share is that it is all a process. We are all a process. Life is a process. Everything is a process or in process. I said it a bunch of times what do I mean?

I mean rarely do we see it or get it all at once. Information comes to us in a trickle or bit by bit. We can’t see the conclusion or around the corner or the forest for the trees. So whenever we get upset, discouraged or lost we do so on limited information.

We only see a part of the picture at a particular time. We never see the whole thing at once. Or very rarely do we. Because of this we act on incomplete information. Imagine if your GPS only had part of the directions to where you want to go.

Things will change. No matter what they will change. Better or worse and most usually for the better. We just forget that much of the time because of where we place our attention. AND that is the big point.

Where we place our attention while in this process is what we pay attention to! Since we can’t pay attention to everything WHAT we pay attention to IS critical!

Since we don’t have all the info it is too easy to get caught up and lost in details that drag us down. We have to remember we are in a process! We can place our attention any where we choose. This is a major point. We choose!

Keep It In Mind: Everything Is A Process – We Are In Process

This simple, but not always easy act, makes a helluva a difference for us. Often, it means the difference between great suffering or great blessing. It is the meaning behind ‘we get what we focus on’ AND ‘we become what we think about.’

What we think about we bring about. What we hold in our head we will some day hold in our hand. From within to without.

Okay, enough for now.

I wanted to say I hope you find value here. If you do I hope you make your lives everything you want them to be. You can, you know! Plus, I hope you help others do the same. A great way to get is to give.
