How Do You Create Your Future? You Tell Your Waiter!

“People do not realize how simple the process of making your dreams come true is. Earle Nightengale called it ‘The Strangest Secret’ because it is so simple. Napoleon Hill stated that because it was so simple most people would miss it; they would never do it. The Strangest Secret IS you become what you think about.

How you make your dreams come true is the same as when you order from a waitperson. You go to a restaurant you look over the menu. You DECIDE what you want. You consider how you like it. You give your order to the waitperson specifying how you want it.

The waitperson goes off to the kitchen. You wait patiently, knowing you will be eating it soon. You occupy yourself in conversation, reading, sitting whatever. Soon the waitperson brings your food. You say thanks and eat it. You enjoy it.

If it isn’t prepared as you specified you send it back so they can correct it. If it is prepared how you specified you enjoy it. That is the simple formula.

You get clear about what you want. You specify how you want it. You place your order and you wait patiently for it to come. If you ordered a Caesar Salad you expect to get a Caesar Salad. You won’t get tacos. You are not surprised or shocked when you get your salad.

You know when you place your order it will be taken care of. You don’t rush back to the kitchen and micro manage the process, nor do you ask the waitperson every thirty seconds when it will arrive. You let go and let it come to you. You allow. You receive.

You decide what you want. You order it. You wait on it. When you get what you ordered you are simply delighted you got it because you expected to get it. You may be grateful and say thanks, but you KNEW it was coming.

That is the process for manifesting anything. Napoleon Hill said, ‘If you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it.’ We get and become what we think about. Focus on your goal. Have a burning desire for its achievement. Believe you will get it and you will! That’s it!

You have to know what you want and you must passionately want it. You do not need to know how to make it happen any more than when you order your food do you need to know how to make the dish you want to eat. You don’t go to the cook to find out. You trust.

You wait patiently knowing it is coming. This is important. You believe it. You conceived it and you believe it is coming. From this mindset you will achieve it in time. Whatever time it takes is what it takes. This is how it works. You order and you wait.

This is why it is said that success is 99% mental attitude, the thoughts you think, and 1% effort or work. Thought precedes action. You can be, do and have anything you want using this simple secret.

However, if you are like the majority of people, you won’t do anything with it at all. Why? Because most people don’t believe it could be this simple. They want it complex and complicated. So they don’t bother.

What is it going to be with you? Are you going to be like the bulk of humanity and miss out or are you going to decide now to make all your dreams come true. It’s completely up to you. No one can do it for you. ONLY you can do it.

The analogy explain is this. The waitperson IS YOUR subconscious mind. Not someone outside of you granting you your wish. It is YOU who make it all happen. You give the order and you bring about the success. You take the order and you do the work.

Your subconscious is a vast reservoir of resources that will respond to your order when YOU know precisely what you want and tell it in a way it understands (see previous blogs). You don’t need to consciously know the ‘how’ in order to start getting what you want. You don’t need the plan to begin butYou DO need to know what you want to begin.

If you wait until you know the ‘how’ you may very well never get going. This is where trust and faith come in. Trust yourself and your inner resources. Make you dreams come true. Determine what you want and be precise. Want it passionately more than anything else.

Think about it day and night (see the end result as if you already have it) just as when you order you food you imagine how good it is to enjoy eating it. You don’t think ‘someday I will have food’, you expect it now.

Place your order with your subconscious clearly and then wait on it. Go about living and enjoying life. Do whatever your gut tells you. Wait patiently. Believe it is yours and it will be yours. It is that simple! Don’t wait begin making your dreams come true.” Rex Sikes

Are You Ready? When The Student Is Ready The Teacher Appears!

“What makes a student ready? What makes a student? A student is one who takes interest in a particular subject, studies and learns. Then applies what one learns.

When I was a teenager, more than anything, I wanted someone who would show me the ropes in show business. A mentor. One day, by chance, I met a man. He was successful in the movie business, he had many successful proteges, and he saw something in me. He was willing to guide me for free.

He didn’t want anything in return. Truly, nothing, other than the satisfaction of seeing me make something of myself in the business I wanted to succeed in. That alone, terrified me. I was always second guessing his motives but I told him I was willing to do anything, professionally, it took to make it. I said that again and again.

So he told me what to do. He gave me the first step. ‘Oh, you don’t understand’, I’d exclaim, ‘I can’t do that.’ I would proceed to tell him why. He’d nod understandingly and explain that I could do that or do this other thing. ‘Oh no,’ I’d say, ‘I am willing to do anything but not that’. I didn’t want those lessons or could not see the value of pursuing a particular area.

Time and time again he would make suggestions. Most I would negate. Some I would try usually abandoning whatever it was he had me doing. He never complained. He completely accepted me resisting him and never threw up his hands or told me he would not continue. Our relationship lasted a number of years.

I left him eventually to find someone who could help me make it in showbiz. So what is a student? When is the student ready? A student becomes ready when the student is teachable. I was not teachable. I knew what I needed and was willing to do and not do. To say,’Yes, but’ and ‘no, you don’t understand’ and then provide reasons are really nothing but excuses. AND, pay attention here – Excuses ARE excuses and nothing else!!

The questions one has to ask oneself is ‘how teachable am I?’ Many people answer, ‘I am willing to learn anything’, but when the rubber hits the road they actually aren’t. I wasn’t. How teachable are you? How willing are you to change? How willing are you to change what you think and what you are doing to think and do something new?

Instead of being open and flexible of mind to take in NEW information and practices many people merely defend the old. That is what I did. I had all the reasons and defenses ready for why I could not or would not do or try something. If I didn’t think it would work or see the value in it I wouldn’t allow it in. I discarded it before understanding it by experiencing it. Excuses prevent new opportunities from occurring.

You cannot describe the taste of an orange to someone who has never tasted an orange. Nor can you describe the color red to the person who has never seen color. It is the experience of using the information that can be life changing. If one is not willing to apply the knowledge in order to change and get different and better results then one will remain stuck getting the same results they hope to improve. Instead of taking responsibility and becoming aware of their resistance most will simply blame others or circumstances thus insuring they remain the same.

It is the experience of tasting the orange that makes the difference. Information does not transform us. Knowing what to do and not doing it won’t make us a success. Applying what we know IS the difference that makes the difference. In order to learn, understand and apply it we first must be open to taking it in. We must not defend ourselves. We must let go of excuses and stop resisting.

People argue that what they previously learned, understood and know to be true is different from the new information they are being asked to accept. Instead of accepting the information they defend the old. They are not very teachable in that moment. In order to be ready you need to be an open vessel. I claimed to be open but was anything but. It is easy to self-deceive.

There is the story of a Master pouring a potential disciple a cup of tea. The master pours and continues to pour until the tea overflows and continues to overflow. ‘Stop!’ cries the potential student. ‘The cup is full.’ The Master replies, ‘When your cup is full you cannot add anything to it. Your cup must be empty. Go and empty your cup.’

The point should be obvious. The master deems that the student’s mind is too filled with what they already know. It is filled with too many potential objections, beliefs and resistance to be ready to learn. The student is not ready and open so is sent away. When ready the teacher appears. I was not ready. Many times I have not been ready. Just as with gardening the soil needs to be prepared and receptive to the seeds.

We need to recognize when we are listening only to speak and present our view instead of listening to gain understanding about things we don’t know about. We need to recognize when we are closed to new ideas and unable to accept information. We need to see when we resist and stop.

The way to being a good student is to recognize when we are not ready to learn and when we are ready to learn. Awareness is the key. For most of us this is a matter of ongoing management. The door is not always open. It is open and closed and open again. Then closed, and closed, then open. We need to discover when we close the door and open it to be available to new life changing information.

If we only understand the new opportunity, the new knowledge and experience, as an addition to what we already ‘think we know’ then it is just more information. Information alone won’t change us! We have to be willing to apply it. If we don’t use it we don’t know it. I ‘knew’ what to do! I was told what to do but I didn’t apply it so I didn’t get any benefit from ‘knowing’ the right things.

It is life changing when we are open and embrace it and use it. Then information, the lessons, lead us to new ways of thinking and being. Information doesn’t change us. Knowledge doesn’t change us. Only by using the knowledge can we begin to change. It is in the application of the knowledge where we learn the lessons. It’s the experience, the attempts, the defeats, the challenges that we learn from. Experience!

Seek to be open and available without judgement or analysis. You may analyze at another time but while learning it is not the time to evaluate the merit of what you are learning. You cannot fit a square peg into a round hole. The new material won’t fit into an old, already filled, container. You don’t put new wine in old wine sacks.

You can’t defend what you already know and remain open. That is not being open. That is refusing to accept! The mind is full, it is occupied it is busy and the Master cannot add any more to it BECAUSE it IS full. Some things take a very short time to learn; minutes at most but they require an entire lifetime to master. Quick to learn and a lifetime to master is the principle. Mastery comes by successfully applying the information in multiple circumstances over a duration of time. Correct repetition breeds good habits.

Learning to be open and being willing to change can take a long time to master. It is so simple it can be difficult to grasp. Stay open, be willing. We may claim we are open many times when we are not. I certainly have! Awareness is the key to change. Many times we will fall but we need to get back up and try again. Frequently, we will close the door to change while thinking we have left it open. We need to be able to notice when we shut down and resist.

A student is humble not defiant. A student is receptive. When the student is ready the teacher appears. Who is the teacher? It could be anyone and anything. It could be a life experience. It could be a formal teacher, a book or a seminar. The teacher IS whoever presents the lessons when the learner’s mind is open to receive. You can even be your own teacher at times.

No one can provide you life changing information that will make any difference whatsoever in your life until you are open and ready to receive it. They can preach it, teach it and shout it as loud and long as forever but until you are ready to hear it and embrace it the wisdom it falls on deaf ears. You have to be open and willing. You must also be willing to take the time to master the lessons. There is no substitute.

One might as well be yelling at a bunch of insects who are marching into certain destruction. They don’t know what is ahead. They can’t see it. – AND – The insects simply don’t understand the message! They don’t get the necessity of understanding it NOW! They aren’t able yet to understand you OR that you are attempting to help them! Unless you are open and teachable no teacher can teach you. It is more accurate to state a teacher presents IT IS THE LEARNER who learns. YOU either learn or you do not!

It is totally up to each of us. It is totally up to the individual student. The responsibility is 100% the student’s to be a good student. When you are a great responsible student you can learn from any source. The source may be wonderful or hardly adequate but as an incredible learner you can learn anything from anyone!

The questions one should continually ask oneself is, ‘How teachable am I?” and ‘What can I do to remain open and easily learn?’

If you are willing to learn you must be willing to change. You can’t remain the same if you want your life to be transformed. For your life to change you must change things in your life. You must change your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to get different results. If you are not willing to learn and are unwilling to change you won’t! You must also consider, ‘What is my willingness to change?’

Mindset, attitude and beliefs, your thoughts, always precede what you do and determine the results you get. If you are not pleased with the current results you are getting you must be willing to change things for you to get the results you’d prefer to get. Doing the same thing over and over again won’t get you different better results!

It is totally, and completely up to you and no one or anything else. This is the truth each of us must face. The responsibility is 100% ours alone. So, how teachable are you? How willing to change are you? Be honest with yourself. When you are ready the teacher does appear.” Rex Sikes

What Kind Of Person Are You? Are You A Wisher Or A Wanter?

“Do you hope things will happen or do you make things happen? Do you wish or do you want? Are you only a dreamer or someone who achieves what they put their mind too? Are you a ‘someday’ person or do you feel the moment is now? What kind of person are you?

Attitude is what separates those who hope and dream from those who want and get. Attitude is what makes someone a Can-Do person and a person who achieves their dreams. Achievers are people who have clarified specifically what they want, set their mind to getting it and keep going no matter what may present itself as obstacles.

An achiever is willing to pay the price. An achiever takes 100% responsibility for his attitude. The achiever maintains a positive mindset and maintains it daily. She looks for solutions and the lessons in every situation. The achiever always continues to learn and is flexible while others don’t and are not.

The achiever knows it is 99% mind set and 1% effort that makes the difference and are willing to put in the effort to be successful. They know that obstacles contain within them seeds of advantage and opportunity and search for these while others wallow and give up when times get tough.

The are courageous and tackle problems even when fearful. They do not let their thoughts or problems stop them. They wrestle it down to manageable size and move forward in spite of fears. They are able to do this because they work on keeping thinking right. They believe they can do it even when they don’t yet know how they are going to.

They don’t sit back and wait for some day. They initiate and act. The don’t think someone or anything outside of them will do anything for or to them. The take charge! They don’t whine or complain. The take charge of themselves and the situations. The decide they will dictate how things will be instead of letting events or circumstances rule the day.

They may fall and fail many times but they don’t stop. They persist. They learn and look for solutions, adjust and adapt as necessary along the way to their ultimate success. They understand that defeat is only temporary and that troubles are just a part of life. It may be darkest before the dawn but that never stops them. They bring their own light.

Yes, attitude is everything! They do not hope to make it happen they know they will make it happen. They accept that when there is will there is a way. The can laugh, delight, feel joy and bliss. They are able to celebrate life and live with passion. It is not all work but lots of play. They can have fun and have a great time on their way to accomplishing what they want. They feel good most of the time!

You can hope or you can have. You can dream AND make the dreams come true. You can develop a Can-Do mind set and learn to become unstoppable. You can be, do and have anything you want. It is simple. Because it is simple most people never bother to do but you can. Earl Nightengale called it the strangest secret because it is so simple most people missed it.

You become what you think about! That is truly the secret. You get what you keep thinking about day and night. It doesn’t matter what it is. Positive or negative whatever you most think about you create for yourself. This is why it is YOUR responsibility. Whatever you hold in you mind you have in your life. Do You Have The MindSet To Succeed?

“Do you want to succeed in career and life? If you want to be happy or and enjoy more of what life offers you need to adopt a winning mindset. To enjoy enduring success you must think as a successful person does. Attitude is everything.

If a successful person wants to do something it never occurs to them that they can’t do it. They believe in themselves and that they can accomplish what they want. They passionately pursue their goals because in their heart they know they can be, do or have anything they put their mind efforts into getting.

Do you think and behave this way? If they want it it is a done deal! The successful person would never question it. They have confidence in their ability to use their minds to create the circumstances they want created. The successful person takes 100% responsibility for achieving. They make things happen!

The person may adjust plans as needed but failure is not an option. Determination and persistence rule. The successful person believes in his/her abilities to make it happen. He believes it will happen and does not let circumstances or troubles get in the way. Challenges are perceived as just part of the game.  There is no defeat only temporary situations.

To succeed the mind must be conditioned for success.  Failure is preceded by thoughts of failure thought over again. Success is preceded by thoughts of success thought over and over again. Whatever we do repeatedly becomes a habit. Through correct repetition over time you can form positive habits. Happiness and success are habits.

It is habitual, automatic thinking. Your mindset precedes the results. If you are getting negative results it is due to your mind set. If you are getting positive results it is due to your mindset. If you aren’t getting what you want you need to change your mind set. Examine, evaluate, become aware and change your thinking as you need to.

Those who can are those who think they can. Happiness is a great indicator of success, yet, most people think success will bring them happiness. Build the habit of happiness. Build the habit of success. It is simple, it takes some discipline and it can be accomplished. Yet, most people don’t do it.  Will you? What is it you want in life?

Napoleon Hill stated, ‘Whatever  the mind can conceive and believe you can achieve.’  You can be, do and have anything you can imagine when you develop the attitude that you can. Happiness is not in the results the results come as a result of your happiness. Find your bliss first and everything else will fall into place.

Celebrate and enjoy. Be thankful and delighted. Stay optimistic, positive and powerful. You become what you think about. Henry Ford stated, ‘Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right!’ So, what you are thinking and feeling most of the time?” Rex Sikes

Are Your Habits Creating Success Or Failure?

“Success and happiness is a matter of habit. So is failure and defeat. Either your habits support you and uplift you or they don’t. You get whatever you think about most. You get back whatever you do most.

You need to ensure that you have the right habits to get what you want.  You can’t succeed easily if you have the habit of defeated thinking and feeling. If your habits don’t support you YOU MUST develop new habits to replace the ones that work to keep you down.

You rarely get what you want if you are not the person in charge of your own thinking. You might be lucky once in a while but most often you are like a cork bobbing in the water. You are drifting. Sometimes things work out sometimes they don’t.

The only way to insure more consistent results is to put yourself in charge and take 100% responsibility for everything that happens good or bad. You may not like this idea but once you completely accept this notion you come into your true power.

You stop blaming. You stop putting the causes for your success or failure outside of yourself. It is accurate that there are outside influences on you but you are the one who decides how you will respond. Circumstances are neutral until you decide whether they are positive or negative.

A true person of power can celebrate during the greatest disasters and in the face of calamity. When you can be delighted and celebrate regardless of what is going on around you or to you YOU are not a fool. You are a victor because you do not let things bring you down

You determine how you will feel. You are in charge. You are powerful and positive. You created successful thought habits.

From this seat of power you are a creator. Because you feel good in spite of circumstances you are able to more readily recognize opportunity and take advantage in ANY situation. Consider this example, successful people know how to make money in any economic climate. Making money for them is habit.

Many make their most money when times are bad. It isn’t the situation that should dictate you, rather you should dictate how you take advantage of any situation. When things don’t work out they way you may have hoped learn what you can from the experience.

When you have the mental attitude that you are in charge no matter what you make things happen. When you have the attitude that no matter what you are blessed and lucky all the time then you open yourself to have a most incredible life. When you can be happy and celebrate regardless of circumstances life is delicious.

To be the victor you must tell your mind what you want over and over again. There is no end to it. Repetition creates habit. Correct repetition creates the correct habit. Persistence is necessary in order to get what you want. It is simple YOU become what you think about day and night.

The subconscious mind will accept any statement that you keep repeating to it through words and by any other means. You affirm what you want in an emotional state of highly charged positive feelings. Intense feeling accompanying your thoughts, (internal images) and your self-talk (affirmations) IS what makes it work.

Repeat your affirmations and visualizations (as suggested in previous posts) in a state of enthusiasm backed up by faith and the subconscious mind acts more quickly. Faith is a state of mind wherein whatever it is you are going to do, whatever it is you want, you can see it already in a finished act even before you begin.

You can do whatever you make up your mind to do unless you give away your power along the way. Feel blessed, celebrate, be enthusiastic and joyful no matter what. Have faith that you will make happen what you want to happen regardless of whatever life throws at you. Make these a habit and nothing can hold you back!

Know you will find a way even if you don’t know what that way is at this moment. It will become obvious to you as you move forward. Have faith! Believe in yourself. Then what you want is taken over by the subconscious an acted upon immediately.  Stay with it, never give up and you will get what you want. Act from your power.

Define your chief purpose. Write it out so that you clarify it, understand it an memorize it. Start repeating it day in and day out. See it in your mind’s eye as already accomplished. Celebrate and enjoy! Say thank you all through out your day! Delight in all moments and you will discover so much more!

The more you think positive and the more you feel good the quicker and easier the process becomes. The faster you make it a reliable habit. The faster and easier you make things happen because you create momentum. Keep repeating this process until your subconscious mind picks it up and automatically works on it. Easy Way To Positively Enhance Your Self Image Watching Movies!

“Do you remember what theaters were like prior to them being subdivided into multiple screens? Theaters were great opulent halls; places of majesty. Those theaters were built to showcase the stars of the screen.

Imagine you enter one of those. You take a comfortable seat and wait for the lights to dim. No commercials showing, just pleasant music softly playing. You feel the anticipation of the show about to begin. The lights dim.

The curtain rises and the screen becomes visible. The projector starts and up on that huge screen is you. This is your story. YOU are the star! This movie is about you and the life you have always dreamed of. You are about to watch your ideal self, the dream you, live the life you always wanted!

You are the author, the screenwriter, the director and actor of your own life movie. Take the opportunity to script this feature as you want it to be. Imagine yourself overcoming any barriers to happiness and success. See yourself winning and accomplishing your goals.

This is YOUR movie make it exactly as you would like it to be. Don’t be stingy be lavish. Make it as realistic as possible. At the same time be generous with yourself. Don’t hold back. Create the life and future you want to have and imagine having it. Live it in your mind!

Imagine yourself without any limiting beliefs. See yourself as you have always wanted to be. In this mental movie imagine your goals and dreams as already achieved. See what you did to make these happen. Act as if you already have everything!

Watch yourself make all the wonderful things you want to happen, happen. Make it as vivid as possible. See the ideal you. Watch yourself. See how you look and move. Listen to how you sound. Enjoy watching that person get goals and accomplish things. Enjoy each moment. Script it. Make it. Watch it. Feel it! Live It!

Once you have your scripted movie. Direct it. Decide on the quality of color, the clarity, the brightness.  Adjust the sound. Tailor it to your liking. Adjust the volume, the tones. You can make it surround sound. Make it as inspiring and riveting and motivating as possible.

Adjust the components to make it precisely as you want it so that as you watch it you feel excited and delighted.  Edit it the way you want it to be. Score it with the music that makes you feel marvelous. This is your movie! Make it compelling. Make it glorious and dynamic!

THIS IS YOUR MOVIE! YOU decide what it is like and YOU DECIDE how it ends. Write the ending you want. Get your goal. Win! Make your movie move you emotionally. Enjoy it. Savor the wonderful feelings. This is YOUR TIME. THIS IS FOR YOU!

Take your time to enjoy it. Feel the great feelings. FEEL THEM!

Then imagine floating up into the screen and taking up your place as yourself in the movie. Live it, experience it. Look out through those eyes, listen with those ears and feel your movements and emotions as you live out that movie. Feel the positive sensations! Go from beginning to end. Live the life your want to lead. LIVE IT!

You have the opportunity to make you mental theater an incredible place. A great hall dedicated to your personal changes. Script your dreams and goals. Be the author of your life! Define and clarify your ultimate chief aim or definite purpose. You have the ability to make your self image positive and vibrant.

Create your self image as you have always wanted to be. You can grow up your inner child to get over limitations and hurts from the past. You can use your inner theater to program yourself for happiness and success. You can be confident, joyful, dedicated, optimistic, courageous.

You can be loving, kind, compassionate, peaceful. Where do you live? what kind of house? What do you drive? What do you do for money? Do you travel? What do you enjoy? Who are the important people in your life? What kind of person are you? You provide the story and the details. You provide the images, sounds and feelings.

Imagine yourself with positive, productive beliefs, attitudes, thoughts and feelings. In your movie be the ‘I can do anything’ person. See yourself overcome obstacles, find solutions, co-operate with people, utilize your skills and abilities, learn new things, do new things, and feel wonderful.

NO ONE can do this but you. Make your mental movies glorious. Dream big. Make them realistic. Don’t use this process to imagine you can fly without aircraft or to bend other people to your will. Use the mental movie process to program yourself for happiness and success.

The subconscious does not know the difference between real images and a detailed visualization combined with intense feelings.

Our subconscious mind is programmed by images and intense feelings. Make use of this by imagining and feeling what you want. Visit your theater daily, spend time making your movies and soon you will make it a positive habit.

The ability to visualize grows with use. This ability will serve you in incredible ways when it becomes automatic. You make it a habit, automatic and reliable, over time by repeating the process again and again. Spend 2 minutes to 30 minutes daily immersed in your inner success movies.

Program yourself and it will become second nature. We become what we think about. Make your mind work for you. Take control of your thoughts and your feelings. Be in charge. Be the author, the director of your life and dreams and make what you want come true. You can be, do and have anything you want. Be Happier And Healthier In Just Minutes!

“People often complain that they don’t have time to do good things for themselves. They won’t take a few minutes each day and devote it to their well-being. They don’t eat, sleep, exercise or think right for their own over-all good. What if it didn’t take all that long to make and get some profound benefits? Would you do it?

The New York Times,  May 9, 2013, reported  on the ‘Scientific Seven Minute Workout.’ That’s right 7 minutes! You use your own body weight, a chair and a wall! Most people could find 7 minutes. Can’t you? Give it a shot, take seven minutes in your day to feel better.

If you can’t do the exercises recommended in the article there are other things you can do.  Health experts have suggested taking the stairs instead of elevators. Stand up for a few moments every hour. Park further away and walk into the store or restaurant. While a period of dedicated exercise has benefit finding more time to move during the day has benefit too.

More people take better care of their cars than their bodies. They put better fuel in their tank than fuel in their body. It is time to start taking care of ourselves. Don’t skimp on the only body you have. AND it is not just your body it is your mental and emotional health too. Exercise has great effect on the entire person. Do it!

Research has demonstrated that exercise is a proven effective strategy in overcoming depression.  One study from Psychosomatic Medicine, 62, 633-638 found that 3 groups of patients used medication,  a combination of medication and exercise and exercise alone to treat depression.

All three groups experienced similar improvements in the beginning of the research. However, the follow up months later proved to have some different dramatic results. These are important to note. You do not have to be depressed to experience the benefits noted.

Of those who had been prescribed medication alone 38% had slipped back into depression 6 months later. Those who were prescribed medication and exercise fared slightly better at 31%.

The group who only utilized exercise as treatment relapse rate was just 9%. The biggest and long lasting change came when patients used only exercise to manage their emotions. There may be another reasons for this positive change.

Exercise proved beneficial for the 2 research groups. The reason the ‘exercise only’ group may have the better results IS due to getting exercise and the experience of being in control of their changes. Being in charge is a significant predictor of positive outcomes. Because they are in control they are able to initiate and maintain the results.

This means this group had to be self initiators. They could not and did not rely on an outside element or ingredient to assist them. They did it by themselves. They just had to make themselves do the exercise and this alone has positive implications and benefits. Thus, they were able to continue whereas the others did not.

The efficacy of medication has been called into question in a number of studies. It is reported to be less effective than placebo in some research. This indicates that it is not the medication that may be effective but the Placebo Effect or the belief that it has some benefit. Still, it is frequently recommended in conjunction with therapy or other practices even though by itself it may have no merit.

I am not a doctor and am making no medical recommendations. I do find all the research in this arena worth looking into. I think finding those practices that provide the individual the most benefit make the most sense. Ultimately, each of us must come to our own well-informed conclusions.

The important news for everyone IS you don’t need to be diagnosed as depressed to improve your mood and feel happier. Exercise helps your brain grow healthier, it releases important hormones for well being, it helps you feel better, think better, relax more and sleep better.

If you can take more time to exercise then take it. Do something positive for yourself because you will be glad you did. Walk for  at least 20 minutes. Do this two times a day if you are able. An uninterrupted hour daily walk outside is even better. Make a schedule to include your own mental, emotional and physical fitness.

Thinking and feeling better is easy when you will devote some time to it! Find a way to manage your time to engage in healthy practices. If nothing else go out on your lunch break and take a stroll. Walk, jump, skip, run, stretch, skateboard, anything that gets your body moving. Dedicate yourself to your own well being. ” Rex Sikes

How To Make The Permanent Positive Changes You Want!

“The principles for change in a nutshell are; do the right things long enough, consistently, and you will see positive and powerful results. Do this and you will form habits for success and happiness.You’ll rewire your brain and create new neural pathways that serve you. You disengage from the old habits and live with new ones.

Your subconscious (servo-mechanism) carries out the messages you provide it all the time. It does this with or without your conscious input. The purpose of this blog and of positive change work is to get you to deliver to it the positive messages you want it to have so it works on your behalf. You have to consciously communicate with it what you want. You steer it. It does the work. Just like your car.

Because it will carry out positive or negative messages without regard your task is to provide it the messages YOU WANT to make your life what you want it to be. You do this through powerful, positive mental imagery and affirmations combined with intense positive feelings. Do this consistently for long enough and the subconscious mind will take over and begin to do it for you.

Because your subconscious mind is a reservoir of all your experiences and abilities it makes the new pathways and forms new connections with all the rest so that you become alert to new opportunity and advantages you otherwise couldn’t recognize before.

You will see things you have missed that have always been there and you discover new things too. Your attitude, your confidence improve. You begin to know what to do to get the results you want. Because your outlook changes everything changes. You now begin to see what you couldn’t before and you begin to live as you have wanted.

Your life improves because you take charge 100% for everything. Do that which is necessary to think strong powerful thoughts repeatedly and to feel the very best intense feelings. Celebrate and be filled with gratitude and excitement. We become what we think about all day long. Live at cause. Live as a victor!

Fill your mind and being with the best and you will become it! You will also remain merely okay or negative if that is what you are filling your mind with. In order to excel you must fill yourself with that which is excellent. Focus your mind on being a positive, powerful, ‘I can do anything I put my mind to do’ person and you will be!

Have fun and enjoy. Help others as well as yourself. Focus on what you want and on solutions. Think the best in everything. Feel the best you can. Do not get distracted by circumstances and you will find your life changing for the better. It’s a process that takes time but works when you move yourself through it.

Because you took the time and dedicated yourself to positive change you get it. Because you consistently and persistently follow through you will get back more than you put in. You will reap what you have sown. The harvest returns far more than the number of seeds planted. Your job is plant the  right seeds in the right way. “The amount of time one spends devoted to their personal happiness and their personal and professional goals makes a difference in how easily attainable these are. How you spend your time IS a critical factor.

A plant is either growing or dying. It is either feeding or starving. Are you feeding and growing or starving and dying? You can evaluate this each moment of each day. How you spend your time is important!

How much time you devote to your goal and how good you feel while spending that time are the two critical ingredients.

2. Intensity

Intensity is the kicker that makes it all work better, easier and faster.

FEEL GOOD RIGHT NOW! You want to feel as good as you can feel for as much time as possible. You want your day and night to be spent enjoying the very best feelings you have. You want to feel good right now in your present.

The more time you spend feeling good the quicker you make your goals come true. The more time you feel good the more time you WILL be able to feel good. You get back great returns on your investment when you think and feel positive most of your time.

When you feel great and you are passionate and enthused, when you are eager and are filled with energy, you think clearer and are able to keep going longer. Your intense feelings make you powerful.

Feeling intensely good in the present moment makes everything work better!

Some people may think, ‘Well, if I could feel good I would.’

You need to take charge. You will never think and feel your best if you expect the outer world to make you happy or better. It just doesn’t work that way. The way to get to feel better IS to take control, even when you don’t feel like it, and control your thoughts and feelings.

Learn to do the things that make you feel better. A few things that help in this are to eat right, sleep right, get enough exercise. Eliminate chemicals and additives. Sit, stand and move with more energy. Get a massage. Many suggestions are in previous blog posts.

This is WHY we fill our mind with positive thoughts. It is why we read and listen to inspiring materials. It is why we visualize our goals as completed and feel the feelings of that accomplishment. It is why we monitor our self-talk to insure it is positive. It is why we affirm out loud and passionately who we are and what we are capable of.

It’s not be possible to feel ecstasy or joy all the time but you can spend more time feeling these. This little step helps you feel your best more of the time: Whatever you are feeling in the present moment make it a point to make yourself feel just a little bit better. Nudge yourself in the direction of feeling good.

It is a system of self management. You put yourself in the driver’s seat 100% and take responsibility for whatever happens good or bad. Take responsibility for managing your thoughts and feelings and for steering yourself in the most positive direction.

You don’t have to go from sad to ecstasy that is too big of a jump. Just make yourself feel a little bit better. That starts you on the path to over all well-being. Step by step. You do not have to do it all at once or even in one day. In time you will learn how to feel your best at nearly any time.

Celebrate everything life hands you, even if you don’t know how things will work out. Look to all you are thankful and grateful for. The longer you feel better the better your feel. The more you move yourself  to feel better when you are not the easier it becomes.

The more intense your good feelings are the swifter you bring about change. There is great power in living optimistically and vibrantly!

Do what you can do to make yourself feel a little bit better each day. Whenever you notice you are not feeling great, do what you can to feel better. Take a break, take a walk, get some exercise or some rest. Read something inspirational or chant your affirmations firmly and enthusiastically! Hang around positive people. Smile more!

Bring positive physical energy into your body by moving your body and your mind in positive ways. The more energy you put into it the more you get from it. Life IS vibrant and alive. There is more energy in a empty inch of space than in all the world’s power sources. There is plenty to go around. Energy flows where your attention goes!

You are alive! All your trillions of cells are alive and vibrating.

Too many people feel only okay. They robotically move from day to day doing the same routines, accepting that this is how it is and don’t have much to look forward to. They put all their hope in things outside themselves to rescue them. They live as victims.

Your positive thoughts are extra powerful when combined with the most intense positive good  feelings! The more intense the easier the subconscious mind gets the message. It reproduces that which we give to it through powerful feelings. (Read what I have shared about military training and intensity in previous blogs).

People limit themselves by feeling strong negative emotions about what they want or don’t have. The feel strongly afraid, or hurt or depressed and end up getting back more of the same.

The subconscious only delivers or reproduces strong emotions regardless of whether they are positive or negative. So you want to pay attention to what messages you are sending it. Aim your thoughts and feelings like a laser beam. Don’t be haphazard.

Zest for life is what makes life worth living. Successful people are passionate, intense, people. Their emotions are powerful. You can feel their energy when you are around them. Creative energy is intense. They pursue their dreams with passion and expect to succeed.

People who make money( think, ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ ) are intense. They are not half assed, namby-pamby, wishy washy, ‘oh well, ho hum’ people. The live to their fullest. When you live with passion, when you fill yourself up with positive feelings and energy you become unstoppable. You don’t need to be licentious to enjoy life, however. You become a power house. Feel your power.

How you think determines how you feel and how you feel determines how you think.  Energy flows where attention goes. If you want to feel better think better. If you want to think better put  a spring in your step. Shake up your body, dance, skip, twirl. Stand and move with confidence, energy and liveliness.

The more you feel the good feelings right now the more changes you will readily make. Live with passion. Feel fully. Commit to feeling better than okay. Notice when you aren’t feeling good and take steps to feel better. Even if you only make yourself feel a little bit better you are doing something valuable.

The longer you devote yourself to thinking positive about yourself and your goal while feeling intensely wonderful the quicker and easier your life will change. The more time you spend smiling and feeling happy the better off you will be.

You are either growing or dying. You are either positive or negative. You are either feeling good or you are not. Notice, become aware, and make the positive changes as necessary.

Live as the driver in charge of your life and steer your thoughts and feelings to the most positive and glorious. The more time you spend thinking and feeling wonderful the more wonderful you will be. You get and become what you spend most of your time thinking about.

Take charge of your life and live it fully and completely. After all what else is there? Life is to be enjoyed. Enjoy it. Do it for yourself! You will discover that by taking even small steps in the right direction, though it may seem difficult at first, becomes easier and easier.

Intensity is what super charges your thoughts and your actions. When you feel vibrantly positive and alive you can get through any hardship faster. The 2 Most Powerful Ingredients For Happiness And Success!

“The ability to be happy and make your career and life successful boils down to two simple ingredients. When you successfully and consistently apply these principles there will be no stopping you.

While there are other factors that are important within the these two ingredients the bottom line IS  master and apply these and it will make all the difference in the world for you.

1. Time.

The amount of time you spend on your own personal happiness, success and development is critical. Some people want it fast because that is what we have become conditioned to in our society.

It may even be the ‘powers that be’ deceive us into valuing quickness at the expense of our overall satisfaction. Media pitches us speedy results everyday. Unfortunately, that is not the way of nature.

We become what we think about most of the time.

WHEN our thoughts and feelings are positive, and devoted to what we want and can make happen, most of the time each day, we then get and become what we think about. Where do you spend most of your time? How you spend your time is critical!

Are you thinking about your goal as already completed? Are you visualizing and speaking positively to yourself in your self-talk? Are you celebrating and feeling wonderful? Are your thoughts mostly about how incredible everything is and how thankful you are?

If not they need to be. Where you spend most of your time determines the results you get.

Are you spending time focused on making your dreams come true? OR are you distracted, scattered, thinking about day to day problems and issues? Are you whining and complaining about lack and circumstances? Is your focus mostly on what you don’t have or haven’t gotten yet OR on making your dreams come true?

Are you mostly positive or negative?

Where do you spend most of your time? What are you filling your mind with? Are you filled with media’s  daily disturbing news and gossip or are you filling your mind with inspiring, positive motivational thoughts, ideas and materials.

What are you reading and listening to?

This makes all the difference in the world! Successful people are devoted to their success. You have to be MOSTLY concentrating on success and happiness to get what you want. Whether it is money, career, fame, family, love, health, relationships or things what AND HOW are you focused is critical! Most people miss this.

You can’t spend 95% of your time worried, anxious and fearful, sad or feeling defeated and expect to be happy, healthy and whole. You must devote yourself to spending more and more of your time thinking positive and feeling wonderful. You need the preponderance of your time to be productively focused.

Some people think they are focused on what they want but they feel bad when they think about it. Two things are possible.  1. You are actually focused on what you DO NOT want. You are focused on what you want to avoid or get rid of and not what you actually want. You need to change this if this is what you are doing.

2. You are thinking about NOT HAVING what it is you want. Some people do not realize when they are focused on lack. They think they are focused on what they want but instead are thinking mostly about what they don’t yet have.

They notice the distance between where they are and their goal and they despair. You do not move uphill thinking down hill thoughts. You can’t want something and feel bad about not having it and expect to get it.

You can’t be looking at the gap and feeling great. You can’t be focused on how far you are from the finish line you need to focus on winning the prize and how great that feels. You have to excel and give you best.

Some people want to speed read books as many as possible to get all sorts of info. It is not about how fast you do something. It is not about how quick you get success. It is about HOW MUCH TIME YOU PUT INTO getting what you want. It is better to devote a half hour of concentrated focus on your goals than to be hasty.

The quality of the time spent will make all the difference in your ability to more readily and easily reach your goal. It takes time for seeds to sprout and plants to grow. It takes time to get what you want so the question is how are you spending your time IN the meantime.

A plant is either growing or dying. You are either mostly positive or mostly negative. In order to get what you want as soon as possible you need to be mostly positive most of the time. You can add in positive practices bit by bit. You can make it a point to begin and end each day well. I have given you some ideas for this in other posts.

I’ll share the 2nd ingredient in the next blog. This blog site is devoted to assisting anyone in making changes. There are powerful ideas and principles shared in each article. Re-read this blog and spend time filling your mind with positive ideas.

If you want to be happy you need to begin by thinking happy thoughts. It doesn’t work the other way around. Thinking external things bring us happiness is one of the great lies. If you want happiness, health and success it begins on the inside.
