Your Brain Is Like A Muscle. Use It Or Lose It!

brain is like a muscle - carl sagan

“You can tip the odds in your favor and keep your brain healthy. There are simple things you can do. Eat right, avoid chemicals, pesticides and processed foods. Get enough sleep. Get fresh air and sunshine.

Exercise and move your body more than you sit or rest. We were designed to move not to sit in artificial light all day and night. Move more during your day. Take breaks, get up and walk.

Add novelty! Break up your patterns and routines. Try new things. Take different routes to school or work. Do things differently, use your other hand. Play games, work out math problems, put puzzles together.

Cross crawl, do your finger exercises as previously described. Write with paper and pen more. Writing by hand is marvelous for the brain! Keep active!

Improve your concentration. Gaze at a candle or dim light and keep your attention on the light. Whenever you become aware your attention wandered return to concentrating on the light. Do this in increasing time increments.

Start with five or ten  minutes and work your way up to thirty. Pretty soon you will be able to concentrate on what you want to concentrate on with fewer self distractions.

Focus on your breathing. Place your attention either at your nostrils or at your belly. Pay attention to the incoming and outgoing breaths. Relax and keep your attention on your breathing. As with the previous exercise whenever you notice you have wandered or drifted off bring your attention back. These exercises are for training and refining your concentration and awareness.

There is great reward in recognizing when we go astray and gently bringing our attention back to where we first placed it. We  ‘break the wild horse’ and tame it. We learn that we have the ability to determine what we think about rather than living as a victim of our thoughts or feelings. We become the person in charge!

You grow in any ability faster when you encourage and validate rather than criticize what you don’t do right. So whenever you notice your mind wandered or you aren’t doing what you intend to be doing stop, notice it and keep your self talk positive. “Hey, you noticed you were off, good for you!’ and pat yourself on the back. You will make changes much more swiftly when you are positive.

You can look over and reflect on your present life experiences and find all there is to be grateful about. Discover all that you feel truly thankful for. Make a list and enlarge it daily. Celebrate and feel the gratitude fully.

Immerse yourself in the positive wonderful feelings of appreciation. Feel joy! Feel incredible! The feelings are the most important part of this practice so feel them all FULLY!

Reflect on life experiences from the past or present and extract the positive lessons and opportunities. Look these over to find lessons you may have missed. Notice how and where the potential benefit was or is.

Learn from those times instead of feeling less than glorious. Re-code them in light of life lesson’s you can now use. You can re-frame anything!

Memorize something each day. Numbers, names, faces and places. Act, get in a play and memorize your lines. Memorize songs. Keep working your memory. Take dancing lessons. Read more and watch TV less.

Use your imagination to generate images instead of having them provided to you. Utilize all your five senses in imagination. Visualize lots! Consider all the good things you can think of.

Meditate. There are different definitions of mediation. Some approaches use concentration as when you repeat a mantra. Some methods are about aligning with frequencies and vibrations by generating or listening to sounds. Some stimulate the imagination as when you stare at a mandala. Try many different ways and enjoy each.

Some are physical as when you dance with such abandon you stop thinking. Some involve just being the activity you are doing. For example, just wash the dish and do nothing more in mind or body. Sit and gaze at the wall and do no more or no less. There is a wide variety of beneficial meditation approaches you can discover.

Another way is to be the watcher, the witness, the impartial observer. Sit or lie back relaxed and watch your thoughts. Whatever they are just notice. Don’t judge. Look as they come and go. Positive or not. Avoid getting hooked. As leaves float down a stream or river so do our thoughts. Let them float by on the screen of your mind.

Merely watch them flow by. Don’t engage with them. If you get caught up in judging or entertaining any thought when you notice what you are doing simply return to witnessing without criticizing yourself for having gone astray.

Everything is okay. Free yourself from the need to criticize or comment on how you are doing. Let it go and just do the process. Validate instead of negate!

We have the ability to manage our thoughts. We can chose what we want to think about.  This is positive thinking. Keep focused on positive thoughts and affirmations. Keep your self talk and mental images positive.

Whenever you notice yourself thinking less than positive thoughts stop and return to thinking positive. Train your brain to do what you want it to do. Your brain should be your servant! Validate yourself as you succeed in these exercises.

When you notice new things own your observations and awarenesses. Validate yourself for your positive insights and awareness. Learn from these. Keep at it, keep playing with new ways of being and doing.

The mind is like a muscle it grows with exercise. Our muscles grow from repeated regular exercise and so does our brain. AND so does your ability to change easily and do new things.

Many of our abilities fall into the ‘use it or lose it’ categories. So keep at it. Don’t let yourself get rusty. Keep healthy and facile in mind and body by daily devoting time to healthy practices.

The return on your investment of time is well worth it. If you want to enjoy greater health and over all well being then do the things that bring it about. Stay young and energetic!” Rex Sikes

How To Keep Your Brain Healthy And Make Changes Easily

Super brain

“The reason some people find it difficult to change is because most people don’t change much. We live routined, patterned lives. Moments differ and things come up but essentially our days are defined by sameness. We stopped growing and learning long ago.

We aren’t handling difficult jungle survival challenges we are going to work or school, doing the same things, our routines, then coming home, dining, relaxing in the same manner and repeating the next day. We are known by our habits and our routines. People can find us and count on us because we do the same stuff over and over.

Researchers estimate that we think an excess of 60,000 thoughts a day and most of those are the same thoughts we thought the day before. AND the day before that and… This suggests that we aren’t stimulating our brains to think new thoughts and do new things. We aren’t giving it unique problems to solve.

We are patterned and routined by design so life is easier. Just as the creases in a folded piece of paper make it easier to refold in the same way our patterns are habits serve us.  These are well worn neural pathways that we repeat because it is the path of least resistance.

Whatever the reason for their development we will engage in reliable healthy behaviors or reliable unhealthy negative behaviors. We do whatever we have learned to do. The brain is designed this way so we don’t have to relearn to do mundane things over again. We don’t need to learn how to open a door each time we encounter one.

Since most of us haven’t been encouraged to learn to have many new habits as we grow up we get comfortable and familiar in our routine and stay there. That can become a rut. We don’t venture out, we limit our options, we make fewer choices, we may even get so comfortable we fear doing things we wouldn’t have at one time.

We might want to change but as a result of living in the comfort zone for so long we aren’t sure how. We have been one way for so long doing something different seems hard. It is and it isn’t that hard. We have to get used to doing something new and that might be tough because we can’t sit back and coast as we have been doing.

It becomes easier to change when we add in novelty and engage in different healthy behaviors than those we are used to. If we make doing new things a reliable useful positive habit we will fear change less and find it gets easier as we go along. It is only difficult because we become rusted. It doesn’t have to be.

As we become used to mixing things up adding in positive new behaviors it gets easier overall.  It won’t be so difficult because you will have made positive changing a reliable habit. You become more flexible. Novelty is anything new and different to us. Add spice to life and become accustomed to adding positive changes and you will change more readily as necessary.

We want to develop new, positive, healthy habits. I have described some things you can do in previous blogs. More great practices for your brain health include taking up piano or keyboards, violin, and guitar playing, sleight of hand or needle point. Any practice that utilizes refined finger movements is a great exercise for the brain.

Finger exercises such as touching each finger tip to the thumb quickly and repeatedly, back and forth is useful. These are important. Writing with pen and paper and not on a computer stimulates the brain. As we learn anything new it helps keep the brain young and resilient. We age faster because we stop learning.

‘Brain Gym’ or ‘cross crawling’, is wonderful too. Contra-lateral movements are ones in which you make contact with the opposite side of the body with the opposite hand. For example, touch left knee with right hand and right knee with left hand. You can read about it on the internet. Yoga is great for this.

The goal is to not be afraid of changing but to welcome change and to a dd novelty into our lives so we become accustomed to doing things differently. Our brains crave novelty while at the same time run on doing the same things we have learned to do reliably.

We have learned many incredibly useful things and live well as a result. We have also learned many useless things, or things that were important for a time in our life which now no longer have a beneficial use. It is time to update and learn new wonderful habits.

We want to be the master of our habits and not have our habits master of us. Our subconscious is reliable and we need to learn how to steer it so we can be, do and get get what we want. Make change enjoyable and fun and you will change faster and easier.” Rex Sikes

You Are The CareTaker Of Your Dreams – Are You Getting What You Want?

your mind is a garden

“The caretaker weeds the garden as necessary. It is important to maintain a healthy environment for the seeds to sprout. You are the caretaker of your dreams and desires. You are the caretake of your thoughts and feelings. Rid yourself of defeatist thinking. Stop entertaining worry and doubt. Live strong by thinking strong!

We continue from previous blog post ‘You Are The Caretaker Of Your Dreams – So How’s It Going?’  This is Part 2.

Stop living as though life happens to you and realize you are the caretaker of your life. Generate positive appreciation, receptivity, thoughts and feelings and life will respond in kind! We attract good people and opportunities to us BECAUSE of who we are and what we radiate. Electricity will light a house or burn it down.

We get back what we put out. The seeds we plant we expect to harvest. Don’t expect corn if you planted peas. Don’t expect positive results if every thing you think and feel isn’t positive. Yet, this is what most people do. You don’t have pure water if you add mud to it. Stop mucking things up by negative thinking.

They focus on what is wrong most of the time instead of what is right. Then they wonder why nothing works out well for them. They may even plant corn but they let the weeds over grow and choke out the corn. If you are doing this, STOP IT! We become whatever we most think about! Our thoughts create our reality.

Think about what you want not what you don’t want. The energy we live by is returned to us many times over. We awaken to opportunities and people who benefit us because we set and tune our minds to these. When you tune to a particular radio station you get that station as you expect to and not something else.

When you tune your mind and feelings to positive thoughts and feelings you get more back in kind. It absolutely works! For some people it works faster than others but none of us in a race with each other. It works for all people regardless. It rains on everyone when it rains. Think, feel and entertain most frequently what you want!

Some people make the mistake of trying to force it. Some get caught in doubt or worry that it won’t be what they want or that it won’t happen. If you do this you will get back more of that worry and doubt. You have to understand YOU are responsible for what you plant and nurture. You get back whatever it is you keep doing.

All this works! If you plant negativity or tune to a negative channel in thoughts and feelings you get back more of the same. You get back whatever you most focus on. Decide what you want to get back! Take care of your thoughts and feelings so you get what you want!

Don’t burn down the house! It is really that simple. It IS that cut and dried. Don’t compare with others or be concerned with time frames. Don’t get distracted by the circumstances you may find yourself in presently. Focus on creating what it is you want and know you will make it happen. Light up the house!

Fill your moments with positive celebration and delight. Allow yourself to be pleased and surprised. Think ‘this or something better comes to me’. What you make happen is not nearly as important as WHO you become in the process. Be open to good things. Allow gifts to come to you and your life will transform in fantastic ways!” Rex Sikes

You Are The CareTaker Of Your Dreams – So How’s It Going?

dont-judge-each-day-by-the-harvest-you-reap-but-by-the-seeds-that-you-plant-8

“Gratitude and Receptivity open up doorways. It seems magical but it does work. Electricity works. Most of us use it without understanding how it works. Feeling grateful and receptive work at the subconscious level and we don’t need to know how in order to develop a winning unstoppable attitude. We do it and it works.

Imagine you plant a garden. It is your responsibility. You are the caretaker. You prepare the soil this is important. You plant the seeds that you want to cultivate later. You tend to them by making sure it they are nourished.

If it doesn’t rain you add water, you rid the garden of weeds and pests. You step back and let nature take its course. Somethings are not in your control. You don’t dig it up to make sure they grow. You don’t even grow them, they grow all on their own accord.

You don’t tell the seeds or the garden what to do or how to do it because you can’t.  You let go and trust. The caretaker knows this. The caretaker does what the caretake is supposed to do; plant seeds and maintain the healthy environment so they can grow. Then the caretake waits patiently and expectantly.

There are NO guarantees. There are only the laws of nature. You did what you could do. You did your part and then you let go. You expect to reap in given time. Nature takes care of all the rest. It works on it’s own. You cooperate and work with it. Then it will gift you with the results because that is what it does.

Harvest comes and you reap what you sowed. You get back more than you planted because each plant gives rise to more fruit. The harvest is bountiful. You enjoy the rewards of your efforts. You did what you could to make it happen. Nature took care of the rest. You can’t push nature. You don’t make it grow nature does that!

You can’t push receiving either. You can’t dictate how it ought to be. You only make yourself available. You do what you do each day. You celebrate! You appreciate! You think and feel your best! You develop positive habits and you persist in your practice without giving up or giving in to negativity. Do your part and nature does hers! Remember, YOU can’t push a rope!

Nature is your subconscious! You cooperate with your own mind, your subconscious. You plant the positive seeds through visualization and affirmations with strong feelings of  gratitude and celebration. You imagine the harvest as if you already received it and feel these incredible feelings each day, each time you think it.

Through daily repetition you care for these and help them grow. You do your part your subconscious will do the rest. You do the positive work and your subconscious will make it a great habit. You stay open to receiving the harvest in time and you will reap what you sowed.

You plant the images but you don’t dictate the manner in which your dreams come true. You remain open to any and all possibilities. This is what it means to be receptive. You allow whatever the positive results will be to develop without micromanaging. You did your part now let ‘nature’ do hers. Simply expect good and great results!

Manage your mental bank balance so it never goes into the negative. Your part is to manage your thoughts and feelings and maintain  a positive mental balance to keep this everything in YOUR favor. This is an important part of how it all works! You stay positive and repeat your practices daily while trusting you will get back the best.

Get out of your own way. Stop trying to make things happen or force results. Allow yourself to receive. Accept, appreciate, and become a good receiver. Do this and you enter the ‘zone’. You create FLOW. Good things flow to you and through you because of what you set in motion, maintain, and allow yourself to get back more of!” Rex Sikes

Gratitude And Receptivity Paves The Way For Everything!

someday is not a day of the week

“It is another glorious day! What can you do today to feel thankful and receptive? Both are important. Take inventory of everything you are grateful for and celebrate in your life. The people, places, activities, things, times in your life, anything and everything in your past and present are fair game.

Your health, wealth, relationships, you career, job, transportation, hobbies whatever they are, whatever their state or condition, it is important to be grateful for, whatever it is. Your money no matter how much or how little be thankful!

If you focus on lack or not having enough or troubling circumstances you get back what you are focused on. You open the doorway for more when you are happy with what you have! When you feel grateful you begin to change you being. You change yourself.

You keep your focus on gratitude in the present AND your goals. You imagine your abundant future as completed. You see it AS IF it is already in your possession. You visualize the future as already having manifested in your life. You feel that future AS IF it is your present. That is how you approach your goal. Someday never ever comes. Today is here and now!

Keep your visualization and affirmations in mind and think about them day and night each day. Feel great! Feel passionate and enthusiastic! Delight in it! Imagine already having what it is you desire and enjoy, savor the incredible feelings! What we focus on we get. What we think about we bring about! Remember this and do these things!

Gratitude launches everything! Develop a positive, powerful sense of gratitude. Appreciate and celebrate all! Start and end your day feeling thankful. This is a HUGE part of this formula for transformation. As you feel grateful allow yourself to open up to receive whatever good benefits are out there for you.

You don’t yet know what these are or how they will come about. BUT allow yourself to get excited and expectant about good things coming your way. Feel the anticipation! Live filled with positive gratitude and expectations! Be thrilled.

DO you understand what you are doing? You develop a mindset that creates the future AS YOUR PRESENT while you celebrate everything about your current situation. This way you are not divided. You are not thinking ‘I want this to happen but life sucks right now’. Instead you say, ‘Everything is wonderful!’ Everything is glorious, congruent and aligned. It is all about generating good feelings.

Your future is marvelous, your present is marvelous and you are able to feel marvelous about your past. Can you imagine how wonderful it is to live each day in this way? Can you imagine how powerful it is to live in celebration and anticipation, excitement, wonder and curiosity? Even in challenges you can see the silver linings.  When you think and feel positively you DO make things work out.

You don’t want to be split or divided in your thinking. You don’t want to think ‘my future is rich but I am poor’. You want to think ‘my future is rich and my present is rich and I am thankful for all. All good things come my way.’ You want your affirmations to be present focused. ‘I am rich’.

Feel how good it feels. Imagine and feel all good things coming your way. You can’t see these yet but believe they are coming. They will come IF you do this everyday and do it well. If you do it half way or only every once in a while you won’t get the benefits you desire. If you do get them they will come much slower. Remember, some day never comes.

You want it make these practices a reliable habit. The daily, moment to moment monitoring of your thoughts and feelings is what impresses your subconscious mind (Reticular Activating System) to find opportunities in current situations and to assist you in utilizing your inner resources to make things happen.

More energy goes into starting this process but as you do it it becomes easier. Soon it will become habit and you won’t have to consciously do as much. It is these habits you want to develop! That is when the subconscious has taken over.

Don’t concern yourself with how any of the changes will come about. Just imagine and affirm what you want repeatedly!  Feel awesome and believe they will come your way and they ultimately will. The transformation occurs within in. Think rich and you can be rich. Think poor and you will stay poor. Attitude is everything!

You will be delighted and surprised how quickly things begin happening when you genuinely engage in these life changing practices. Keep your focus on what you want because we become what we think about. When you are grateful and receptive you have a marvelous attitude. What you thank about you bring about!

Attitude determines how we approach the world and what others see in us. This is how we attract others to help us. We become so filled with life and energy they come to us magnetically. We become alerted to opportunities we might otherwise have missed. We open up to receive gifts of all sizes and kinds. Enjoy the process!”

Delight in this day!

Does The Universe Give To Us?

life is not hapening to you life is responding

“Often I write my blog in the early AM hours between 3 and 5. After completing my blog for today (yesterday) I decided I wanted to write on receiving. How we get things from the universe. Little things and big things. It occupied my attention.

We make room for all sorts of wonderful things when we live our life filled with gratitude. When we feel absolutely grateful for anything and everything we attract more of the same. We open ourselves up to enjoy more. BUT some of us aren’t good at receiving and so we miss out on the opportunities.

The key to getting what we attract is to be open to receiving it. Some people are good at giving but not so good at receiving and vice versa. I thought I would write about how it is important to be open to whatever the universe presents to you.

You might find a penny or some money on the street. If you do pick it up. Be grateful. Someone offers you something or offers to do something nice for you accept it. Instead of passing it up accept it as a gift. Consider it something special just for you. Enjoy it!

When you pick up the coin or accept the gift you are acknowledging that you are open to receive whatever is there for you. Small or large it doesn’t matter. It is a mindset. If you want more you not only should be a gracious giver but also a gracious receiver. I toyed with the idea for my blog and the went about my day.

A short while later I went to put something away and I found some money that I forgot that I had. Then I found a check I had considered lost.  In the afternoon a woman I was talking with suddenly offered me a chocolate. Out of the blue! She just want to give me a chocolate.

At first, I declined, my thought, ‘I really don’t need a piece of candy.’ BUT THEN inside my head I remembered and my inner voice got loud and said ‘RECEIVE IT This is exactly what you were going to write about’. SO I said ‘of course, thanks’ and enjoyed the candy. I was delighted, tickled this occurred. Synchronicity!

A little while later another woman I encountered while speaking with someone else, turned around to me and said, ‘would you like to try some pecans’. This time I immediately said ‘OF COURSE, thank you!’ I was excited. I was getting free candy and food gifts.

Later on in the evening I was asked if I would like to take home about 70 dollars worth of salads and deserts. Again, this came out of the blue and again was absolutely free. My day was made up of finding money and being gifted with food. Why? I don’t know but I am enjoying it all.

I don’t like to look for signs but when they present themselves I can go along and enjoy it. I had fun and was delighted today receiving from others. Most importantly, I can’t help giggle inside when I think I had been considering writing a piece on just this sort of thing happening. And so I have!

The universe does provide. I think it is a matter of like attracts like. Birds of a feather flocking together. Somehow you just radiate or vibrate and others of a same or similar vibration  respond to it. It happens more than we are aware of.

Our attention gets tuned to it in the same way as when we notice all the other cars on the road like our brand new vehicle.  You’ve had that experience I am sure. As we turn our attention to gratitude and to receiving our subconscious alerts us to more opportunities.

I had another delightful day I hope you did too! Open up to all that we can be open to and receive it. Be thankful and receive it! There is more than enough for everyone all the time. Realize you deserve to be gifted and enjoy it!” Rex Sikes

Who You Are Is More Important Than What You Do!

let your first thought be thank you

“Who are you? As the author of your life this is an important question?  What legacy will you leave? What will people say about you after you are gone? How will you be remembered? What are they saying today?

Be happy. Life is not about the things we accumulate.  After all, we can’t take them with us. Life is about who we become. If everything we pursued in life never happened, we never arrived, we never obtained, we would be left with only who we are. So who are you?

Who we are is all we have. Who we are is what others know us by. Are you a positive person or not? Are you loving, kind, joyful,  compassionate, peaceful? Are you proactive or reactive? Are you confident, inspiring, playful, tender? Who are you?

People think they need to be successful to be happy but the truth is you need to be happy in order to be successful. From who we are arises everything else. What you think about you bring about. What kind of thoughts do you think mostly? What kind of thinker are you?

Realize you have plenty to be happy about. Express gratitude for what you have. Give thanks.  Appreciate others and appreciate yourself. Appreciate everything because ‘what you thank about you bring about’. What are you grateful for? Who do you appreciate?

You just can’t be negative and happy and grateful at the same time. So practice gratefulness. Live and appreciate everything! When you live in thankfulness you are a positive and inspiring and joyful person. What do you spend most of your time thinking about?

Whatever you appreciate you make room for more. Are you a grateful person? Who you are determines where you go and what you get? Even if you got everything you wanted it could be taken away and you’d be left with you. SO who are you?” Rex Sikes

How To Get Through The Blowback To Success!

you can become anyone you want to be

“In a recent blog I mentioned to expect blowback when you make changes and you should. Persist and move forward come what may. Whenever you experience unwanted thoughts or feelings, stop, turn your attention toward what you do want and affirm that. Focus.

Think ‘I am a person who can easily change. I love changing and growing more positive each day’.  Affirm the changes you want and your exquisite ability to change and keep the changes. Focus positively on what you want to create. You will make it happen!

You direct your life. Do so in positive ways. Imagine that you will have fun, enjoy the process and that you will stick with it come what may. Design your future. Never give up just keep moving forward.

In your mind’s eye see yourself as you want to be. Imagine your goals as completed. See yourself having overcome all  difficulty and challenges with ease. Chant enthusiastically your affirmations and power statements. You become what you think about all the time!

Create what you want by putting your focus on the good things you can do and enjoy. Change is easy and fun when you let it be. Many people focus on difficulty instead of ease. Maintain a Can-Do mind set and you can-do anything you put your mind to.” Rex Sikes

This Is Why You Need To Book End Your Days!!

gratitude-quotes-01

“Would you like to enjoy more daily?  Wouldn’t it be great to feel wonderful most of each day and night? If there was something you could easily do that might make all the difference in the world would you?  To enjoy the most fantastic life possible it IS important to start and end each day right!

Then everything in between can work much better and be much more wonderful.  When you start and end each day with positive expectations and gratitude everything changes! You will be surprised at how good things can become in a short period of time.

It is reasonable to spend at least thirty minutes to an hour each morning and evening taking good care of yourself with positive rituals. If you can’t at times or if you won’t then at least have two sessions of gratitude each day. This you CAN do!

As soon as you wake up, even before you get out of bed, take mental inventory of everything you’re grateful for in your life. Look forward with appreciation to what you want your day to be like. Visualize it in your mind going as you would like it to. See it, hear it and feel it.

Before you drift off to sleep each night think on those thing you are grateful for. Reflect back on the day what you learned and appreciate. Then imagine positively how you want you next day to go.  Visualize your day and interactions as you’d like them to be.

Make this a habit and  you will immediately begin noticing life becoming juicier and your ability to manifest results increase. It is important to FEEL grateful. FEEL the gratitude because it is the feelings that make your subconscious go to work.

Your mental pictures and FEELINGS engage your *RAS and subconscious mind to look for opportunities and delights you might have missed. Review the day to learn from the good and not so good times. Savor everything you are grateful for. Feel it as fully as you can. This is important!

This practice increases your ability to live joyously and attain your goals because you examine what worked. You learn from what didn’t work to be more flexible and make adjustments as needed. AND you feel grateful. We become what we think about and focus on most often during each day of the week. Focus on good feelings!

When you can appreciate everything you accelerate your abilities to change easily. Like attracts like. What you FEEL grateful for you make room to include more of. Gratitude for everything opens up incredible doors. Plan you next day based on your review.  Set positive expectations for the day. Feel wonderful and go to sleep.

In the morning feel gratitude and plan your day. Look for smiles and you will find smiles. Whatever you heighten or emphasize in your mind through positive feelings your mind will notice more of! You get back what you put out. We become alert to opportunity and attract good things into our life. Feel wonderful and begin your day.

When you purchased a new car do you remember that suddenly you noticed all the other same cars on the road? Your feelings of delight combined with your mental images trigger your subconscious and you become more alert to others like it. They were always there you just didn’t notice. Thats you *Reticular Activating System at work.

This is how the subconscious mind works to find positive opportunities. This is how we get back what we put out. Like attracts Like! Live with gratitude and positive expectations and you will attract back so much more! If you put out negative thoughts, worry and fear, those feelings and images will produce and attract more.

So seek the positive each moment. Make the best use of your mind and time. Develop these habits and everything changes for the better! You will notice your life becoming even more wonderful than you could imagine in ways you couldn’t previously! Enjoy” Rex Sikes

Have a spectacular day!

The Best Way To End Your Evening

gratitude changes lives

“Some people don’t sleep very well. Whether they have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep or even getting enough sleep, our sleep time  is an important time.  Our subconscious processes data from the day.  We refresh and renew. We clean house inside.

Preparing for sleep can be one of the most important things you do. Recommendations for good sleep hygiene included sleep in total darkness. Use your bedroom and bed just for sleeping not TV or electronic games or communication. Be comfortable.

Shut off and remove all electronic devices from your sleep area at least one hour prior to going to bed. Keep the temperature in the room around 68 degrees. Coolness helps us fall a sleep heat does not. Don’t take caffeine in the evening  or exercise just prior to bed.

Listen to positive audios, enjoy soothing music or sounds of nature. Take a warm bath or shower 1 hour prior to bedtime It will help relax and put you in the mood. Sip a cup of relaxing tea, chamomile, valerian or another known for its comforting effects. Read some inspirational material. Then get into bed. In bed you can:

Spend time reflecting on what you are grateful for. Immerse yourself in the deep feelings of appreciation. Count your blessings! Review your goals in your mind as already completed and feel how wonderful that feels. Drift off to sleep thinking and feeling the most wonderful thoughts and feelings.

The important part is preparation for sleep. Your subconscious never sleeps so say good night in a relaxed, positive, optimistic mood. Make your night time routine a positive, relaxing, renewing habit. Create a soothing delightful ritual. Enjoy slumber.” Rex Sikes
