Stop Doing This And Become Happier!

“If you are facing difficulty or just not feeling as happy as you’d like there is something you can do to change that. If you aren’t as successful in your career or relationships as you want to be you can turn that around. What you allow will continue. Isn’t it  time to  get more of what you want; become happier, healthier, and more successful?

No matter what is happening in your life thinking the right thoughts can make a powerful positive difference. The effectiveness of positive thinking has been declared for ages. Research demonstrates it is one of the best things we can do  for our mental, physical and emotional health.

Regardless of your any situation you find yourself in positive thinking can help you think clearer and more efficiently. It can help you feel better and more easily navigate the troubles. It is a great choice if you want to experience overall well-being.

We already use affirmations and make statements to ourselves all the time. Whatever we assert or declare about what was, is or will be going on is an affirmation. It is our self talk. It is what we picture in our minds. These statements and images, these preoccupations, affect our health in mind and body.

Most people may not realize they are negatively programming themselves. Their self talk is less than glorious.  Negative self talk is simply affirming what you do not want. Worry is actually just ‘negative planning’.

When you make less than glorious statements about yourself, others, or your situation you are affirming the negative. You are paying attention to and bringing about what you do not want. It starts with one negative thought, then another and another. Like attracts like. Negative thinking gains in momentum just as a snowball rolling down a hill gets larger.

Positive thinking IS just as easy as negative thinking. We just have to learn to make it a habit.Then we will think powerfully and positively about what we want to include and create for ourselves. We can positively influence the outcome when we think, feel and act to make good things happen.

your only limits

If you want to turn things around you need to turn your thinking around. You have to let go, drop the negative thoughts, turn your back on them and affirm what you DO want. You need to spend the balance of your time thinking healthy, positive, ‘can do’ thoughts.

As has been said, ‘If you want to enjoy enduring success you must travel a little bit in advance of the world.’ Or as the Boy Scout motto proclaims, ‘be prepared.’ Positive thinkings IS affirming what you want. It is positive self talk. Create a positive snowball with its own momentum. Like attracts like!

Start now so you condition yourself and make it a reliable habit for when you need it.  It is not something you do only in a crises it is something you do daily. ‘Luck is the crossroads where opportunity and preparedness meet.’ So prepare today for tomorrow. One positive thought leads to more positive thoughts. Keep at it!

If you need it now, go back through this blog and re-read as many posts as you are able. The keys and secrets, and tips and suggestions are all right here. Most importantly remember if you want things in your life to change you must change things in your life. What you think about you bring about.

You can do this! Keep the faith! Let of negativity. Focus on solutions and what you want.  No matter what might be going on around you stay positive. Birds of a feather flock together. Do You Create Or Destroy?

your words have power use them wisely

“This image has been making the rounds. It is an important one. Our words affect others! What we say does impact others mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We should always be careful what we say. Negativity breeds more negativity and stress. There are consequences. Our words can lift someone up or our words can crush someone.

We can be and we should be sensitive and only speak words that bless, heal and prosper others. We should seek to only say the best, the most positive, the most nurturing, the most comforting, the most inspiring and the most motivational words we can express.

What we say and HOW we say it is important!  Seek only to bless, to heal and to help others prosper with what you say to them. This helps them and it helps you.

The Golden Rule means that you hold the other person (and people) in the highest esteem and wish them the best whether or not they do the same towards you. You pay it forward first without caring about the return. When you do this you not only benefit them but you bring benefit to you! The same is true with forgiveness.

You may need to forgive someone who died long ago. Your forgiveness may have no effect on them because they are gone but it may affect you in great ways.You may find peace, more comfort, even release. You may be able to move forward, after letting go.

You might feel free, more love and happiness because you forgave. In this example tt isn’t about the other person responding to your forgiveness (if you can get over that concept with living people) it is about freeing yourself. Forgive and your life becomes better.

Send out positive vibes to others, first for no reason at all, with no expectation of gaining anything, and YOUR life will become better. Pay blessings forward to everyone and everything becomes more wonderful. THEN apply this principle to yourself.

We not only speak to others but we talk to ourselves too. We hear our own self talk and it affects us in all the same ways. We feel down when we criticize, blame and speak harshly to ourselves. Take heed and apply this lesson to you.

Only speak that which will bless, heal and prosper yourself because you always end up feeling and doing whatever it is you think and tell yourself anyway.

do good and good will come to you

Consider that YOU are the other person you talk to. You know that person you say ‘you’ to, as in, ‘ how can you be so…’ or , ‘you really are…’ You know those less than glorious things you have said to yourself in the past.

If you say you are broke, or that life sucks guess what is reflected back in your life. If you state, ‘well I am only commenting on what already is’,  then remember this, YOU will always have what you say you have!

You certainly won’t have more than what you state. You words will reflect your conditions AND your conditions WILL reflect your thoughts and words!

Nothing changes since you are commenting and reinforcing what you don’t like. You aren’t creating anything different you are keeping it exactly the same. Your comment does nothing to bless, heal or prosper.

Your words do nothing to create any kind of different present or future for yourself. This is precisely why we need to change our thinking and our speaking.

Start thinking highly of you. Treat yourself with respect and think the best of yourself. Love yourself, be kind, supportive, caring, nurturing and only speak words that bless, heal and prosper YOU.

Thoughts precede words and actions, therefore, we should place a guard before our thoughts, and on our lips before we speak and a guard for our actions. We should make it a point to think, speak and act with the highest, most positive intentions towards others and ourselves.

Treat yourself and others as you would an innocent child. You would never want to bring hurt or harm to our precious young ones. It is important to love and care and nurture a child and move them in positive directions.

It is important to be open, caring and sensitive. You want the best for the child. OR at least you should! I have no difficulty stating that. Bless, heal and prosper our children.

When you do this for yourself and others, when you treat everyone, including you, exceptionally well things open up and become magically different. When you hold all in the most positive, high, regard your world will delightfully transform. You will become more free. You will be happier and healthier and have less stress. Things get easier!

You will experience more peace and joy. More of everything will open up to you because YOU are opening up and inviting good things into your life.What you focus on you get back. Birds of a feather flock together.

Tied Down And Captured By Problems? How To Get Free Now!

what consumes your mind controls your life

“In Jonathan Swift’s novel ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, the hero Gulliver takes to the sea. Misadventure occurs and he is thrown into the water then washed up onto the shore. While sleeping on the beach, tiny 6 inch tall people called the Lilliputians, capture and chain him and imprison him inside a large abandoned temple inside the walls of Lilliput. So let’s stop right there and examine what we have so far.

A large person, unconscious, is taken prisoner by very tiny people. Let’s analogize or make a metaphor from this. Normally, a person goes about their business. Though when unconscious they may get captured. Let’s forget about little people or other captors and consider this. When we are unaware we may get tied down by all sorts of little things that might otherwise not be an issue.

It could be other people, it could be the comments people make. It might be clutter on your desk or in your home. Perhaps, the kids aren’t listening. The boss (he or she) is breathing down you neck at work OR at home. It could be any number of tiny small events that add up and create stress and bog you down. They capture your attention and imprison you in any number of ways. When you are unaware you tend to forget. You are lost in an unsavory moment. You can’t see the way out.

Face it little stressors add up. One Lilliputian Gulliver could easily handle. Scores of them, not so much. So make it a point of taking care of the small things before they add up or pile up. Nip them in the bud before they capture you. If you are spending your time worrying about, concerned with lots of minor things, you don’t have the necessary energy for the big important things. Plus, life is not as enjoyable as it can and should be.

Remember, we get what we focus on. So if you are primarily focused on all the little things AND the big things that aren’t right, that go wrong, that cause discomfort, you are really short changing yourself. We become what primarily occupies our attention. Is it problems or solutions? Is it uncomfortable and negative or delightful and positive? What is it that fills your mind? This is what you need to become aware of. WAKE UP! What are you focused on and is it making life better or worse?

If it is making it worse you have the opportunity to change it for the better THE INSTANT you recognize what you are doing to cause your discomfort. You have the opportunity to change your thoughts, your feelings and actions so you are able to live more enjoyably. It is in an instant, within seconds, that we can change. It is in this moment you have a decision to make.

Either proceed as you are in the less than glorious, stressful, uncomfortable way OR change whatever you are doing so that you can proceed in a more enjoyable, positive, powerful, productive way. Whichever it is IT IS UP TO YOU!!

what you allow is what will continue

SO decide. AND learn to relax, let go. Accept, don’t resist. Let it ALL go! Awareness is the key. Gulliver was captured when he was unaware. We all have these moments. It is human. So don’t blame yourself (or others), or regret or worry that only adds fuel to the fire. What you resist persists. When you blame self or others you only feel worse.

Let it go. Become aware that you can shift your attention from the stressors to other things to pay attention to. Perhaps, you need a short break. Maybe you need to take a walk, listen to some music, go for a jog, take a nap, eat some food, whatever it may be, you want to change how you are thinking and feeling. Momentarily, change what you are doing.

You want to interrupt the negative thoughts, stop thinking them, take a break or some deep breathes and put your attention on more enjoyable positive thoughts. When you are thinking and feeling better then you can begin to positively work through whatever you may need to from a more optimum mental, physical, emotional, spiritual place.

Literally, you let go of whatever the stressor is, drop it. Turn your attention elsewhere, somewhere more enjoyable. Keep it there! Repeat as necessary. Don’t give in to the call from the less than glorious. Don’t answer. Let them all go. Focus on what you want and enjoy!

Realize you can handle things one by one. Let go of the snarky comments people may make. Declutter bit by bit, maybe only one item at a time. Remember, kids will be kids they don’t listen all the time because they also are learning to be independent (reframe however you need to). Reframing is putting a different label on the package. You substitute one meaning (a more useful, positive productive one) for the previous less than glorious interpretation.

Don’t let negative stressful things capture and keep you. Learn the fine art of letting go and getting free. Moving forward only requires that you do it bit by bit or one step at a time. Be gentle, loving and caring of yourself (and others, of course). Focus on what you want and enjoy. You get back more of whatever you focus on so stay positive!

Keep your attention on the positive and the possible and you will find opportunity and solutions because you are more mentally and emotionally fit. You are better equipped to meet the demands on you. Learn to love, laugh and live more wonderfully and fully! YOU can absolutely do this! ” Rex Sikes

Don’t Miss Right Now. Now Is All You Have

everyday you have a choice

“Many people regret the past and live tethered to times they cannot change. It is a huge mistake to let the past haunt you because the past is gone. The only person keeping it alive is you, or me, or whomever it is who has not let it go. Do not fret about the future. It hasn’t happened yet so it may or may not be as bad as you might expect it to.

Worry has been called ‘negative goal setting’. To worry is to be focused on what you don’t want instead of what you do want. You can’t change the past but you can accept it, forgive, and move on but you can’t change it.

You can shape the future but only if you know what it is you want. Keep in mind we get what we think about. So if you are focused on what you don’t want that is precisely what you end up with. You must focus on what it is you DO want.

Where you actually live is in the here and now. Unless of course in your mind you are always some place else. I understand this. For me, I spent lots of time living in the past. The future was never defined by me, but I knew what I loved from the past and missed and what regrets I had.

I romanticized the past, I valued it over my future and my present. I longed to return to the ‘good ole days’. I had to train myself to focus on my future to shape it and my present to live in it. Be here now are important words.

Learn to focus on the present! Let go of the past. If you are going to reflect on it use it to learn from it so you make sure you don’t repeat the same mistakes. You can shape the future but that is dependent on what you think and do today.

If you learn from the past to improve your present you can have a better future. A favorite quote of mine is “You are today where your thoughts have brought you. You will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. You cannot escape the consequences of your thoughts.’

What you do right now is important! Your future is determined by what you are thinking about and focused on right now this instant. If you want an incredible future you will need to make your present incredible first. I learned how to do this for myself. I found that feeling truly grateful for EVERYTHING made all the difference in the world.

Yes, this meant I learned to appreciate the past for the lessons and let it go. I learned to focus on anything and everything I can appreciate right now. This made a huge difference for me. There is so much we can be grateful for. Living in gratitude will absolutely change your attitude for the better. When you are happy now you will be happy in your future.

Right this moment what can you find small and large to be thankful for. Focus on these. Accentuate these. What we appreciate we attract more of. What about yourself do you like, love and enjoy? What about your family, friends and associates? What about you job, your hobbies, your home?

Take the time to take an inventory of what you can appreciate so that you can feel more grateful. You will be surprised the doors that open when you live in gratitude. Smell the roses. Enjoy this moment. Savor it. Each now moment gives what to the next now moment. Live it fully!” Rex Sikes

How To Start Your Day Off Right

“My previous post suggests you learn to smile more each day. When you smile you release chemicals and hormones that produce feelings of well being and happiness. Your feeling  change in response to how you use your body and your breath.

Whenever you want to feel better you can shift your body posture and movements and re-create feelings and emotional states of resourcefulness. Your thinking and feeling changes.  When you change the depth and rate of your breathing you can feel inspired, confident, happy or relaxed. It works!

Our neurology is marvelous! Our brains and body work together so we are able to deliberately affect how we think and feel. We can feel wonderful by  using our body, breath and face in a positive way. Here is something else we can do to begin the day in a great way and enjoy it more thoroughly as the hours pass by.

Laugh! Begin your day smiling and laughing. Before you leave the bedroom laugh deliberately for at least 5 minutes. Of course, if you have not tried this before you will have to push it. Sit somewhere, close your eyes and just begin to laugh. FAKE IT until you make it.

It won’t seem natural at first because laughter is an involuntary response. However, once you push through the start of the laughter you will find that it does become involuntary. Frankly, whether or not the laughter becomes ‘real’ doesn’t matter. By using your body in the same way you do when you actually laugh you get the benefits.

A great belly laugh really stirs up the body and releases positive chemicals and hormones. Instantly, you begin to feel the affects. You can laugh for longer if you like. I was part of a group who did this decades ago, every morning at 6am for one hour! It was incredible.

I have taught this in my live training and seminars ever since. We also did it in the evening. Each night before we said so long until the next day we would relax, think positive thoughts and laugh out loud together.  Laughter massages your brain and body. It relaxes you and it heals you. Laughter transforms you!

DO IT for however long you can. 5 minutes would be a great start. Norman Cousins utilized laughter to heal himself by spending time each day watching funny TV programs. So too have countless others. You can use the power of laughter to transform your life and being. Make it a habit to laugh much more and you will be glad you did. ” Rex Sikes

Your Power Is Immediate. Your Power Is Now, Not Someday!

to bring it into your life imagine it already there

“It is important, crucial, that when you make your goals, when you determine your definite chief aim or purpose, when you plan for what you want your future to be like that you focus on that and not let the present day circumstances distract or dissuade you. Whatever is going on now is not important. You must keep your eye on the prize. BUT where the change truly is and when it actually happens is in the present moment.

This is why when you visualize and think about that future YOU imagine it as having already happened. You live it in your mental movie theater as if everything you want is already accomplished. You see yourself doing and behaving and having everything that you will be experiencing then.

You enjoy feeling the feelings of having made it happen. You see it and feel it as completed. You live and experience and FEEL that present future moment right now. You feel those feelings NOW as you vividly imagine it. You pair the powerful feelings with your images.

Feelings drive everything! You want your feelings to be immediate and present. You want to feel it NOW in your body. You want the feelings to be the same feelings you would feel when it happens in reality. You want to feel what you would be feeling when and as your dreams come true. This is important to understand.

You want to feel the thrill, the excitement, the incredible gratitude and joy right now as you think about what you want then. You want your feelings to be positive and powerful. You want to be celebratory and filled with gratitude. You want to fully experience these.

success requires mindset

Your unconscious mind only works by feelings. It is driven by feelings and emotions. What you see in your mind and feel strongly about is what you end up creating. You bring about what you think about. Whatever you think about and feel strongly about, whether good or bad, positive or negative is what you create in your life. If you want your dreams to come true this is how you make them come true.

As an example, there are only two emotions one positive and one negative. You get one or the other. You get what you focus on. What you pair with your thoughts is what you end up creating. It is that simple to understand. You must take your best thoughts and pair them with your best feelings.

When you congruently align your desires and your mental images with your feelings so that there is no resistance AND you expect to make this happen and you expect to feel this way when it does (you see it, you feel it and believe it) IS when you make it so. You feel that you have it now. You are filled with all the wonderful feelings and gratitude. When you do this you CLAIM IT as already yours.

This is why you keep your attention on the positive feelings. You keep it there no matter what else may be going on around you. Do not allow present circumstances to distract you from the future you are creating. If you can conceive it, and believe it you can achieve it! Once you have claimed it do not un-claim it.

If you think some day I will be this, or I will do this or I will have this that some day never comes. You unconscious mind goes ‘okay someday’ and it never arrives. That is why you need to make your future immediate. You must feel it happening now. Not sometime but NOW is the time. You express thanks for what you already have.

winners visualize and look forward

Do you understand this? You are grateful for what you already possess. It is already yours and you appreciate it! When you are able to think and feel this you WILL make it happen. You have planted the seed in your unconscious and now it can and will grow. The seeds will sprout in time. Have faith. Trust. Celebrate and enjoy everything in the meantime. Live your life with enthusiasm and joy.

Do not look for the evidence. Don’t compare.  Don’t look at present circumstances and think, ‘okay where is it, I did everything’. When you do that you create conflict. That creates doubt and resistance. If you do that you aren’t actually believing. You have lost sight of what you created and are looking around you instead.  Stop change what you are paying attention to.

You must focus on what you want. Remember you conceive it, you believe it and you achieve it. SO create it, believe you will have, feel incredible and  feel grateful and trust that you will bring it about. Be an owner of your dreams. Once you own something it is then yours.

When you plant a seed it grows in the darkness. You do not dig it up to make sure it is growing. If you did you would kill it. Stop preventing, stop killing your dreams by doing that very same thing. Nurture them and bring them into being by creating, celebrating and trusting and you will make them happen.

Your entire being will align congruently with your desires and you will recognize new opportunities you may have otherwise missed. Every cell and fiber of your being will be dedicated to making it all come true. Your thoughts will work together. Like attracts like.

Birds of a feather flock together. You become congruent and powerful because you align your thought, your word and your action around your desire. You will become what you think about. Do it now!” Rex Sikes

Want More Power? Do This!

“Would you like to be able to make some positive behavioral changes and keep them? Are there some behaviors you would like to be able to cut down or stop completely? Could you use more self-control? If you answered yes to these question there is a simple thing you can do.  First, keep in mind that we think is important. Everything first begins with our thoughts. We speak those thoughts to ourselves, out loud and to others. What we think and say is important. We become what we think about.

Take responsibility for the behavior you want to stop or start. Don’t blame or criticize yourself for doing it. Realize if you are going to stop it YOU are going to stop it. If it is going to happen it will be up to you! It is not up to anyone else. You must stop being a victim of the behavior and realize you are the person who performs the behaviors. You decide whether or not you will do something. You are in charge. Stop thinking and saying ‘you can’t’ help it, or that you can’t stop it. If you can’t do something it means you are powerless. You want to and need to claim your power.

If you want and need to become more powerful YOU need to begin to think of yourself as powerful. You have to see yourself and tell yourself that you are in charge. You have to act like someone in charge.You want to develop a mind set that you can and will do what you want. You can and will do what you say you will and you will keep your word. Various research concludes that people who say ‘I don’t’ instead of ‘I can’t’ had more positive behavior changes because they had more self control.

If you think and say, ‘I don’t eat chips’ instead of ‘I can’t stop eating chips’ the difference is two fold. First, you become a person who does not engage in the particular behavior. You are a person in power and control. That is part of your identity. Second, as a result of the first reason, the behavior does not control or determine your future YOU do. When you are not the type of person who does something you don’t do it. When you are in charge, when you have control, when you make the decisions everything is different. You become the person who does or does not do something rather than letting behaviors determine what you are able to do.

Feel free to add that you are the kind of person who ‘can’ control behaviors. YOU can make decisions and stick to them. You don’t let snacks (or other habits) govern you. You are the kind of person who IS able to control your behaviors. So you will. How we think about ourselves and what we say has an incredible impact on what we are able to do and not do. Thoughts lead to actions. Govern your thoughts and words and you can govern your behaviors.

Decide to be in charge of your life. Think and say those things that move you forward. Think and say only those things that heal, bless and prosper you and others. Realize who you are, what kind of person you are and what you are able to accomplish. Think it, say it claim it! BE IT!” Rex Sikes

Why Your Friends And Colleagues Are Important!

i am starting to attract the people around me

“Invest in your relationships. Nurture your personal and professional connections. Surround yourself with people that make you feel incredible. You can be more awesome when the people around you help you feel awesome. You can’t be your best if some people are making you feel less than glorious. You get further faster with support.

You may have to choose to not spend so much time with those people who bring you down. You may need to be a bit selfish with your time and space in order to spend it with those who uplift you. Don’t be rude about it. Be gentle, be kind and simply withdraw your presence gradually over time. Spend your time elsewhere bit by bit. It will always be your decision to let them back in at some time.

Wish them the best in your mind, your word and your deed as you choose those other people who can help you fulfill your purpose. Always wish everyone the best! Make it a point that most every person around you is someone that you chose to keep around.

Nurture and care for the important people in your life young or old but seek those who inspire you and challenge you to be your best. Don’t just choose like minded people who want to keep you the same as they are. Choose those who help you to stretch and develop your talents, abilities and resources. Surround yourself with those who help you to discover yourself and help you believe in yourself.

It is our network of people who help us move ahead. We cannot do everything by ourselves nor should we try. We should connect and network and form strong healthy close ties with good people. We need to care for the people in our lives and stay close to our loved ones, family, friends and associates. Together we are stronger!

We want people in our lives who accept us as we are while allowing us and encouraging us to grow. It is important that this goes both ways. Be certain that you accept them and allow and encourage them to grow as well. Relationships are based on mutual reciprocal support and nurturing.

be the type of person you want to meet

It is important that you give first what you seek in return. Be the same kind of best friend you want for yourself. Be the loving, strong family member you want in return. Become the person you want to meet and include in your life. Accept others and they can accept you. Inspire, help, motivate and support everyone in your life.

Be grateful for everyone. Even the ones you may let go of. Every person in our lives, intentionally or not, offers us opportunities to grow and see aspects of ourselves we may otherwise not. Every person is a much needed mirror to reflect back to us who we are and what we value.

From those closest to us to strangers we randomly meet each shows us ourself and is a valuable asset to us. So be grateful for each and every person and the challenges and opportunities they present us with JUST be being themselves.

When you are incredible to be around you will attract back into your life incredible people. Make the other person feel marvelous first. The easiest way to do this is to feel wonderful. When you first feel awesome you can help them be more awesome . They can’t be their best if you are making them feel less than glorious. So think and feel and behave your best.

Birds of a feather flock together. Like attracts like. You get what you focus on. When you are positive and all your thoughts, words and deeds bless, heal and proser those kind of people will be attracted to you and come into your life. Others who you may need to let go of may simply spend less time with you all on their own and seek the company of those more similar to them. It is amazing how it works.

SO live by the Golden Rule! Hold all people in your mind and heart in high esteem and with respect and you will be surprised how wonderful life becomes and how many new doors open for you.” Rex Sikes

What To Do When Everything Sucks

“The goal in life is to feel good right? We should enjoy life, live fully, delight in everything. Celebrate. But what about those times when you just don’t or can’t? What do we do about those moments? It certainly would be useful to know, wouldn’t it?

People who love themselves and appreciate life and all it offers know that sometimes we just get stuck. They understand that there are challenges, upheavals and down times. They know that sometimes you just sit in traffic and don’t seem to make any progress. They understand the burn, frustration, anger and sadness that may accompany these moments. They realize sometimes we just have to fester awhile.

Many take heart in the motto ‘This too will pass’ . They understand that just as there is night and day, dark and light, cold and hot that there is a rhythm to life and that things do change. They ‘get it’ that the waves on the water come in, the tide rises and the waves go out and the tide goes down. They know there are seasons and time frames in which different challenges exist.

People who successfully navigate the tough times know that there are going to be these times and the accept it. They may try to navigate around them when possible but they don’t run from them. There are tough times that may seem to last forever. There are great times that seem to end too soon. There are times when nothing seems to change and we grow bored or weary. All of these occasions are just a part of life.

We need to understand what we can control and what we are not able to control. We may not be able to change the world but we can learn self control or self management or self improvement when we go though tough times. Tough times while not welcome are useful.

There is the saying ‘We can’t change the wind but we can adjust our sails’. Most everyone knows, ‘When life gives you lemons make lemonade’.  So it isn’t about controlling, manipulating or changing the outer world to conform to our wishes but it IS about evolving ourselves to meet any challenge. We may not be able to change the world we can change ourselves and our responses!

When these challenges occur it is an opportunity to surrender. We need to learn how to surrender because as much as we might try make the world conform to us or change the circumstances some things in life just don’t happen until they are ready to happen.

Surrender. It is the time to allow and not resist because what we resist persists. So don’t fight it. This may seem difficult but this IS precisely what we need to learn. We need to learn how to navigate these times more productively and not get caught in the ‘trauma drama’. We need to understand sometimes we have to be patient and wait.

We need to learn how to seek feedback. We need to find the seed of opportunity that exists in the challenge. Through all of these experiences we can grow and develop when we understand how to best respond. We can experience great freedom in letting go.

When things change we tend to react out of habit. We do what we have always done previously. If what we always do is less than glorious, brings us or others more pain; if it doesn’t work very well and these habits aren’t serving us then it is time to learn and develop new habits.

We always have choice. We really do. We can choose to do something or choose to do nothing but both are choices. Challenges will always be there but we can grow in spite of them. The way of the world is that things just happen. Unexpected things happen. Some expected things loom on the horizon. The choice is ours about what we think and feel and do.

Someone said, ‘Worry is praying for things we don’t want’. We should stop it. Complaining and whining only bring us more less than glorious thoughts and feelings. Gratitude and celebration may be tough at first but will bring us more of the feelings of thankfulness and insight than fretting and being upset will.

Relax, allow, and go with the flow. These will bring us more rest so we can gather our resources. These are times for self-reflection. Self examination and making new positive choices (especially when forced to) can lead to new positive thoughts and behaviors and new habits. Through reflection, during times of struggle, we can find ourselves renewed.  Gratitude and celebration for the challenge will open our eyes to possibilities we might otherwise miss.

Remember, ‘we become what we think about’. We get what we focus on.  Like attracts like, birds of a feather flock together so we need to choose the best, the highest the most glorious thoughts and feelings we can find to fill our minds. When we stick with these we will find more of them. In staying on course we will discover incredible value and can begin to build a positive new habits that serve us better.” Rex Sikes

You Have Been Lied To! Change Isn’t Difficult. It Is Easy!

“Have you tried to change something and found it difficult? Did you give up because you thought it was too hard? Are you living other than you want to because you may attempted to be different but have not yet succeeded? Do you realize those attempts speak volumes to you?

Begin to look at them and examine them and see that they were necessary for you to learn many things. Whether you actually learned them or not the possibility existed. In every challenge there IS the seed of opportunity. In every failure there is feedback. You only have to be open and look.

Many people give up because they believe it to be hard. They expect a rough road. The can’t see past the difficulty to a brighter day. Therein lies the issue. If you expect it to be tough it is far more likely to be tough than if you expect it to be easy.

Our mindset, the beliefs, the perceptions, the biases, the past experiences we go to when we evaluate future actions shape how we perceive the future and our success. Our own thoughts prevent us.

When we believe something to be easy and that we are able to accomplish it effortlessly we may encounter challenge. If we believe we can handle any challenge and make it through then we most likely will. After all, it is all only in our heads! It is whatever we think or decide it will be. Our own thoughts see us through to a success!

If truth be told, it is actually easier to change than most people think it is. It is easy. It is truly, very easy! Since many don’t think so they make it tougher than it is. People think changing their thinking is not all that easy. It is! It really, truly, actually is.

You are only replacing a thought with a different more productive thought. You are only making a different decision to think something or do something or feel something else! You are not stopping something, giving something up or making any sacrifice you are changing your thoughts like you change your socks. You switch them.

When you are watching television and you tire of a program do you struggle to change the channel?  Are you afraid it is too difficult and give up or do you simply use the control to look elsewhere for something you prefer more? You surf to something more enjoyable. Or do you sit there are fret, worry and get sad? Are you afraid to switch from one channel to the next? Is it so difficult to decide?

Do you see the folly most of us buy into? We think changing our minds is tough when in fact we do it numerous times each day. We change, we opt out of and into something else. The only reason you don’t actually have to force yourself to change channels and you may force yourself to eat better, or think better IS because of your pre-conditioned thoughts about each. You know you can do it!

You don’t give changing the channel (or your socks)  it a second thought but you have stories, and excuses, and reasons, blah, blah, blah about a time/s when you tried something and it didn’t work out as you had hoped. STOP IT! Stop indulging in useless, less than glorious, non-productive thinking. Just stop it! Put the excuses to rest.

Change is easy! It can be easy. Once you do it change gets even easier. Since birds of a feather flock together and like attracts like, if you think it is difficult you produce more of the same kind of thoughts. You get one bad reason, one poor excuse after another.

The same will be true if you switch your thinking to more productive, powerful, positive thinking. You generate more productive, powerful, positive thoughts. IT DOES work both ways. You get more of whatever you focus on. You  become what you think about. It gets easier and easier!

IT IS EASY! You decide to do it and you do it! As you do you will discover it getting easier and easier. Eventually you get into the flow. So stop fighting it and give in. Give up the excuses and go with the flow. That is easy! It is actually easier than you THINK it is BECAUSE you only think it isn’t. Do you understand how silly it is for you to think it is tough? It is ONLY a thought that is stopping you.

You want to be in charge of your thoughts and not have them in charge of you! SO decide, take control, take charge and begin making the positive changes you want to make. You are only changing the channel from a less than glorious story and bevy of excuses to a more positive powerful story.

You make these kind of decisions and changes each and every day. Make them again in your own best interests. It IS easy. You will find it so when you get it going. You will discover a momentum as you move along. BUT nothing wil change unless you decide to do it now! It is completely up to you! Don’t wait. Make it happen today!” Rex Sikes
